hi and welcome to my corner of the internet. this blog is still under construction until I can add my about page ( did you know that you have to personally ask support to be allowed to use a page code with javascript in it? :)) well, you do now ) so beware of the construction tape!

I'm Autumn or Faon, I use they/them pronouns and I was born '95. ticked about all the boxes on the queer registration form and I'm currently in a queerplatonic poly relationship. central european & white. future linguistics student, and plant parent. I really adore vampires and I write original and fan fiction, as well as poetry. I speak german and english, and I'm studying french, korean, japanese and finnish. lover of bats, snakes, horsies, deer and cats, as well as sharks. 🦈 I sometimes draw cat ears or fangs onto idols and actors ( see: my icon ), if you'd like me to make you an icon, drop me a DM.

my hyperfixations and interests change over time — yes, mom, it was a phase! name a constant state of being, mom! — and I change my username every two or so years. currently I'm really into the quantum leap spin-off, the one piece live action show, and I'm watching a couple of k-dramas and such at the side. I play baldur's gate 3, vampyr and control, but also 2064: read only memories.

I was very active in the shadowhunters and the dragon age fandom as well an 00q shipper. I will reblog every single gif of spirit - stallion of the cimarron, it's my childhood movie;; also, Jin Oshiro from STRAY (2019) deserved better, thank you for your attention.

I've been renting this space ( occupying, maybe, rather? skjsdlkgs it's not like I pay rent ) since 2012, and trust me when I say: this website is a hellsite, but it's our hellsite, so, I'll stay until the last person switches off the lights, probably. >< a lot of other social media networks just never grew on me quite like tumblr.

color me curious: do you outline your fics, go by the seat of your pants, or a mixture?

ah! thank you for the curiosity, i love to talk about this stuff.

it's very much a mixture, and depends on the fic--usually based on the length but also how much detail i'm putting into it.

short pieces, one-shots, etc, like Familiar and my recent piece that i haven't posted here yet start with a single concept that i write down. the rest of it--setting dressing, magical worldbuilding, the plot--i either come up with on the fly or sort of hold in my head as the logical next step in the sequence of events that i've begun actually writing down. so with Familiar there was just the idea of 'catboy rodrigue acting like a literal cat and manuela having to deal with that' and i have absolutely nothing written down in the margin except for observations about the difference between catrigue and felinyan. because there's only one concept, no subplots, and it remains contained in a single fic, that was all i needed.

on the other hand, my longest fic, the Eh-U, has a bullet point 'outline' where i write out in general terms what i want to happen next and when. i cross out what i've already written and have documents made and sitting empty for future chapters where i can start writing snippets of scenes that i get ideas for. the current chapter is marked with a little flag icon so i know where i'm at at a glance. so the overarching plot is 'planned' in that i know 'felix does x' or 'bonding moment with ingrid and the girls', but the individual chapters themselves i pretty much just make up as i go, with the Main Plan as reference for what needs to be accomplished in them. sometimes there's not room to check everything off the list in a single chapter, so it either breaks into two or those things are cut or saved for another day. as long as the main task is accomplished, i consider it as having stuck to the plan.

all in all, that's still a pretty simple, linear plan. my second pirate/dragon fic, while shorter than the eh-u (i hope), is much more complex, with multiple story threads (i think i got up to nine). so what i've done is made a flowchart in Scapple and colour coded it to show which character i'm following when, and i can see when certain events happen simultaneously and shuffle them around as needed. it's similar in its depth to the eh-u bullet plan, but it's visual and there's more focus on specific action and drama.

Then there's my mid-length fics, Crescendo and dragon/pirate part 1. in these ones, i know exactly how many chapters i want to include, and have a more clear, broken-down list of things that occur in each one. with Crescendo that was easy, because i have the game script to work with and can break down exactly what i want to show, and use canon dialogue as a framework.

and then there's Ember, which i just wrote in a single document and somehow made regency era letters that made sense, without being Aware of a single decision i was making. i broke that one into chapters after most of it was written. the plan was in my head but i don't know how it got there or how i remembered it.

for the most part, dialogue and specific actions are spontaneous in all cases. sometimes i'll think of a joke or moment ahead of time and write it out, and then i use it as a milestone to write towards.
