but it is real. it's all around us, a never-ending influence on our emotions. when we read the wrong words, we feel alone and hopeless, we feel angry and scared. but when we read the right ones, we elevate ourselves. we grow.

this is the truth: we are all sorcerors of this reality, and every day, we're given a choice of which spells we cast. we can encourage, or we can devastate. we can choose love, or we can choose fear.

Ergo the impression I get from Gehrman is that he's a sad, lonely, pathetic, kinda awful old man. And this reflects on everything going on his existence (existence, not living cause Kos knows what's going on with him is not a life).

Dude cries out for people who would or could not save him cause of their own issues (Laurence turns into a beast and Wilhelm is literally rotting alive). He builds a doll of his student (but it's not right, never really meant to be accurate when you are so starved for companionship) who cared more about her own problems and then killed herself cause of them. It appears no one alive seems to really remember him in a way that actually matters.

Fitting ending I'd say, for a man who tried to a build a legacy and school system (the Hunters) that brought upon so much trauma and pain out onto Yharnam and the Great Ones. The price of hubris.

Weird thing I’ve noticed with Gohan, he seems to just, basically adopt older people? Like he rehabilitates Piccolo like some sort of emotional support saiyan(?) and more or less does the same to Vegeta over the time skip from cell to buu saga, god knows he’d probably be able to do the same to the modern (not future/different timeline cell cause he fucking DEAD) version of cell, like how does he do it tho, actual golden retriever of a person

I think he was the "kid" of the group for a while and never had beef with anyone hence everyone's cool with him XD I have variations of the Gohan and Cell stuff, my main one being "Gohan only thought he changed him but actually Cell is still even and was only placated" but have toyed with "Gohan has impacted Cell a bit...but only Gohan because he's one of the only ones Cell considers worthy of his time".

I see Gohan as more of a "moon" person and would describe Goten as more "golden retriever", "sun" :D I do see what you mean though!

How would all boys react to s/o complimenting them and being really happy about/enjoying something he cooked for them? Or bought them something that he knows they would like or like to try?

Same spiel as before, "you" will be used as general "beloved person they care about" in however interpretation tickles your fancy!

All three of them will be happy proud idiots with some varying attempts of being cool about it.

Sun tries very hard to be cool and suave, except. He preens. He always, always preens when you're happy with something he did, he's a sucker for praise and validation, and if you go hard enough he might just slightly sway back and forth on his heels or outright spin his rays! Will be very analytical if you let him - what bits did you like? Taste, texture, ingredients, what spices were good? Anything you'd like him to change? Should he gets more of it, keep a steady supply? It's also another way of getting his excitement out without outright going "I did such a good job", while also making sure next time will be even better!

Moon is a little quieter about it, but that just means you'll get to observe his fluster more easily. May giggle a bit and try to look away, but his stupid wide grin is obvious and he's really happy that you enjoy whatever offering he had! Tying into the other ask - if it's a while into cooking with you, so him actually cooking, maybe trying something on his own for the first time? Please give him the chance for a hug and hiding his face somehow because he'll melt at the slightest indication that you like it and would like more of it. Won't be quite as obvious about it as Sun, but certain snacks will definitely find their way into your pantry more often!

Eclipse in this case is a healthy mix of his brothers, except he can handle his fluster a bit better (i.e. channels it into more excitement and affection rather than feeling the need to hide). So his initial reaction will just be elated! You like it!! He was right in his assumption!! He made something good!! (And didn't burn down the kitchen!!) Prepare for nuzzles and or hugs and or any available holding during all of that. Then follows the analysis - do you want it more often? How often? I can totally get behind the Voldemort fucked witches to get them to give him what he wanted and he probably hated every moment of it HC / likelihood, but I also think he’s waaaay too charming and manipulative to have to debase himself by committing such a mortal act and he would be absolutely disgusted by sex. I also love the he was in his forties when he first fucked a witch — Bellatrix — and only ever fucked her (my personal) headcanon, but again I can’t imagine him being on the continent for 10 years and not being drawn in to the allure of some dark witch and ending up in bed with them. I also don’t think he’s had any desire for sex until Bellatrix and even that’s not lusting sexual satisfaction but lusting her, but I understand psychologically and in the mind of someone as complex as him there’s a chance they’re both intertwined. There’s a good chance, to me, that he didn’t feel that way until her. After all, he is a possessive creature and if there were other witches he felt that way about, would he not be desirous of keeping them too? But there were none? Unless he killed them? He had possessions by the plenty, and Bellatrix is one of them.

So I go to a gay church in my area because I like the community and it is honestly incredible to see old queers every week. But I've been thinking recently about this particular dynamic in the bible study group.

in the group there is this gay catholic and and a nonbinary communist who are both retirement age and butt heads on every topic, with the Catholic very adamant in his positions and being sure of his being right about How To Christianity. Then the Communist who has studied other religions and is much more concerned with the Divinity found in humanity than some invisible Patriarch making all the rules. and it as me thinking about the Uber Right Wing politics of a buncha christians, and how 'traditional christianity' really does make sense with their political views (and lets be honest, it was designed that way)

because like, the Catholic. He means well, but basically always falls back to "Yeah God is easy. He is perfect and mysterious and we can't understand him but we have to follow his rules and those rules are the Bible and the Catholic Doctrine." Which. Every time I hear him talk I cant help but hear right wing rhetoric about not questioning established authority and how those in power got there in the first place.

For example, there was a discussion about Sin. and the Catholic goes on the expected spiel of "Sin is these actions as defined by bible and to be rid of sin you have to do the 3 step plan that the church made up which goes like admit guilt, apologize, then repent by not doing the thing again and also pray about it. Bam Done. Easy Peasy."

He kept repeating this line of reasoning even when this other guy, a New guy who specifically doesn't like Christianity because of people who prescribe how to think and act, as it is a trigger for New guy. But the Catholic couldn't tell that. His Catholic Programming wasn't able to compute any other way of a Correct Relationship with Religion. It felt incredibly reminiscent of something along the lines of "oh its easy to not get arrested, just don't to a crime sweaty :))))" type rhetoric.

and I don't have the writing skills to make extensive conclusions and tie all the strings together but I just wanted to share this pattern I see. where right wing Evangelical Christians have their view on life baked in in every aspect of their beliefs. and its frustrating!!! because religion even including Christianity can be a helpful tool for spirituality/hope in the world/ community for people but just like any system of power, it is important to question the structure, and who is in power and why. And like most power structures that want to maintain that structure, Christianity and Right Wing rhetoric often go hand in hand in their ability to drive any questioning out.

Anyhow, shoutout to Alien the 70ish year old nonbinary racing champ with an intersex cat they are my hero and I love them for having the energy to push back against the Catholic and his rigid power structures.

my psychiatrist thinks I have adhd. well, she used the term "add" but I think she just wanted to distinguish that I have the inattentive type. I guess that makes sense, but also I really did think for a while that I'm just Like This™ or that I'm just experiencing the normal stress of adulting, you know? doesn't everyone get overwhelmed by adulting and living in a consumerist capitalist society??

anyway. I'm fine with taking meds but like. the difficult part is that she expects me to have a normal consistent bedtime (because I have to take the meds at a consistent one hour before bedtime, same time every night) and that's REALLY hard for me to do. and also funny because her observation with me is that I'm not consistent but I want to be, but in order to take the medicine that helps me be consistent, I have to... be consistent. like, that's sooooo funny to me

He doesn't say anything as the little landwalker hands him a tiny... something, fragile little thing drowning in the space between his brutal talons. Slick webbing pulls back so he can observe the thing more closely, predatory eyes studying the bright colours. What was it? Nothing he'd ever seen before. Was it even alive? Stoplight shook it slightly but the thing stuck stubbornly to his wet scales, its own ones soft and delicate to the touch. He peered at them, the frond of scales adorning the top like a crown. Its colours were fascinating, bringing to mind memories of coral and other marine life far, far down at the bottom of the ocean. One thing it had that they lacked was an odd smell, sweet somehow in ways he'd never experienced before... Oh, maybe that was what this thing was? Vegetation? He'd eaten seaweed before, back when times had gotten lean and hunting bore no success. Maybe landwalkers liked this stuff. It was certainly a lot less difficult to catch. Pale eyes glanced down at her round ones of green and white, before darting to the offering she'd given him. Swiftly did he lift it to his mouth, tearing off its soft head with his vast array of needle-like fangs. Her offering exploded, shredded at once leaving a distinct... flavour of sorts upon his tongue, but it tasted far different from the sweetness it exuded. Not good. Stoplight dropped the crushed remnants of stem as he brushed his jaws clean of petals, looking almost betrayed that it hadn't tasted like he'd expected at all.
