These ideas just popped into my head while I was looking at the results of your Danny hair length poll, so I'm taking that as a sign to send them to you;

So I love Jason/Danny, but I also love me some dad!Jason fics, and thus a conundrum.

Except, through my love of Jason and dad!Hood I discovered Roy and Lian, and Roy/Jason, and I will forever be a messy lil multishipper at heart, and a lover of domesticity (esp for those who don't live normal lives) and doing your best by a child.

So I'm genuinely surprised there aren't really any fics with Jay and Roy, either established or getting together, raising Lian and Danny (deaged, or teen). If romantic Jason/Roy isn't your thing, I think they would also make lovely Queer Platonic partners 😊

But the main idea I initially had was Jason/Danny, or Jason/Danny/Roy (and I will remind, cause people forget, that not everyone in a polycule needs to have the same kind of relationship to each other, so playing with that can be fun too). And Danny is in Gotham and to all eyes was a teen dad, because he has Ellie, who maybe hasn't aged at all physically or has been deaged, or happened later, and he's trying to make it work.

If it happened later, maybe he had gotten things together enough to get a scholarship to Gotham U, and then Vlad tried to clone him in a last ditch attempt to sabotage/control him, or because he saw Danny leaving his area of control and got desperate for a replacement. So then maybe Danny could be trying to balance school and a job and taking care of Ellie, however old you would have her be.

Or maybe he's just working and trying to be a parent and struggling along.

And anyway, he meets Jason or Redhood.

OR alternatively, Ellie meets Lian! At preschool or daycare or school or the park, again depends on age, and that's how Danny meets Jason and Roy. Maybe Jay was babysitting, or they were visiting, or maybe they're a couple or co-parenting Lian.

Idk, a lot of this was brought on by the idea of Danny not having time to get his hair cut, and having lil Ellie so doing each other's hair and then a train of all of them doing each other's hair.

Just... domesticity, ya know?

Today has been rough and domesticity is soothing.

Hahaha! Yeah, that is quite the conundrum, huh? You want the father-son relationship between Jason and a de-aged Danny, who understands him even if he's young and doesn't really understand the world like he used to. But then there's still Jason/Danny, and all the ways they oppose and relate to each other is always just so *chef's kiss* I really love Roy/Jason, I've read some great fics with them acting as a unit, even if they aren't always a couple. A lot of times it's just background, with Jason helping Roy with Lian, but I have such a soft spot for them. There is a bit of an age gap between Jason and Roy, actually, since Roy was with Dick during his Robin days and even then he was older than Dick. And sometimes I have to wonder how much that affects people shipping them or not?

But regardless, Jason and Roy both have such a complex history with their mentors/father figures, and their own relationship with heroism that I think it would be a really fun spin to include Danny on it. He doesn't really have that problem with a mentor that's hurt them in some way, but at the same time he's never had a mentor at all. Unless you're making this an AU where the Ancients kinda step into that position for him.

I do love the idea of Jason adopting a de-aged Danny as well, of course. I absolutely adore Imprint by Hashtag_DriveBy where we see Jason take in a young Danny, and we even see Roy kinda stepping up and helping out. What I really enjoy about the idea is that Jason is making the executive decision to reach out and ask for help from others, which I would say he's always really struggled with. He can be very prideful, and paranoid and distrusting to boot, which can be a very unfortunate combination. But the idea of Jason having a little Danny in his life and trying to do right by him, and learning and healing along the way always makes me soft.

As for a Jason/Danny or a Jason/Danny/Roy idea... I think the best route would be for a 14 year age difference between Danny and Ellie. Obviously, she could be aged-up thanks to Vlad's machinations, but based on an outsider's POV, it would 'explain' a lot of Danny's behavior in high school. Danny could have learned about her when he was turning seventeen or just graduating (depending on what you headcanon Danny's birthday, he could graduate at 17 and then turn eighteen in the same year, doesn't have to be anything complicated). She would be... 2 or 3 years old? Again, depending on what age Danny is, and when people find out about Ellie they get all these ideas about what Danny's been up to, and thinking "oh that's where Danny goes when he's running off randomly" or "that's why Danny's constantly tired and sleeping in school, because he was up all night taking care of a baby". Those sorts of excusing. It gives a good cover for his hero identity!

Another option instead of having Danny attend GothamU is have him get a trade job/apprenticeship, since he could go pretty much anywhere with that sort of training. Plus, he gets paid on the job even as an apprentice. I know a lot of people like the idea of Danny being a barista or a waiter, and while I definitely like those ideas as well... Realistically... In the U.S. it's not a living wage... And if Danny has a kid to take care of... I can't see him taking more than one job if he has to worry about Ellie at home. Especially if she's really young, like- too young to go to school. A degree would help a great deal, of course, but he does still have to work, so I feel like a trade job would be the best compromise. So he could be... a mechanic! That's one way for Danny to meet Jason, if Jason has some vehicles that need to be repaired and he doesn't want to go to Bruce. He could be an aircraft maintenance technician, that's closer to his love for spaceships. Nonetheless, he can later on go to school when Ellie is older and/or in school of her own.

I actually like the idea of Jason meeting Danny in his job, and they slowly get to know each other, and eventually Jason tries to ask Danny out, only for Danny to mention having to pick up or get home to his daughter. And Jason is surprised at first, of course, but then maybe he mentions his friend's daughter, and asking about how old Danny's daughter is- It all culminates in Jason meeting Ellie and then him falling in love as he watches Danny and Ellie interact. He gets Roy to come over, and it bites him in the ass because now Roy and Danny are getting along swimmingly and Jason has been delegated to babysitter. But eventually, the kids go to bed and they get to learn more about each other.

I like the idea of it being a slow burn, where at first they're all just trying to help each other out. Roy would understand Danny's struggles into parenthood, but thankfully Danny also wouldn't have to worry about getting clean and getting past an addiction. He would have to worry about the other (villain) parent possibly getting in the way and making things worse. Cheshire is usually shown to have given Lian up in order to protect her, but that doesn't mean her life style can't bite Roy and Lian in the ass sometimes.

Depending on the ages too, Lian and Ellie could try to play matchmaker and get their dads (plus Jason! You've gotta have Jason, in their opinions. He makes the best food) together. Due to all the movies they watch, they think it has to be something crazy romantic and something out of a fairytale. But things keep on getting messed up, and they're disappointed nothing comes out of it, but they keep trying. But, without them realizing it, those three have been getting closer all along.

Damn, I've got a lot of feelings about this. Sorry for the ramble. :P

It's either didn't want us to burn out, which was canon timeline Chengxuan, or come back and haunt me, which was canon timeline Sangyu. I think I'll go with the latter. It had more tragedy about identity and memory, I think

Oh boy, uhhhhhhh. Out of the stuff currently associated with me, it'll be one of the Chengning fics, I think, or my aro!Wei Wuxian Ningxian fic. Not gonna lie it's slim pickings for happy endings around here haha

No, thank god. I was always too much of a small fic writer for that.

Hahaha, not really. I'll do handwavey and fade to black but that's about it. Might get there one day though!

Basically every DMBJ wip at this point in time, but particularly the one I'm furthest along on that I do not have a working title for other than 'horrible huaxie backstory'. My relationship with DMBJ has changed a LOT since getting into it this year and now my hyperfixation is somewhere else, so who knows what'll happen *shrugs*

What are your writing strengths?

I've been told my narration has a distinctive voice to it, and I think that's what people tend to compliment most? Dialogue is also something I've tried to consciously work on over the years, and I don't know that it stands out as a strength necessarily but it's almost something I find easy to write these days if I'm in the swing of it

What are your writing weaknesses?

Action and smut. Basically don't make me mentally choreograph complex stuff

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Now that my Mandarin has improved after two years of study, I think writing bilingual fic could be fun. There's definitely dialogue I've thought up in Mandarin for C-Drama characters that just won't have the same impact in English, and it's a shame I can't just casually drop it into a fic untranslated and be done with it

First fandom you wrote for?

First fics I ever wrote were for Star Wars and they were written longhand into a horrid little hipster notebook from Indigo. The first fics I posted on Ao3 were for the MCU though

#3 is my untamed big bang from these nettles, alms which I cowrote with @zorrosuchil (chengxian, but also wangxian and a lil tiny bit zhanchengxian, much to jiang cheng's disgruntlement).

Okay SO, looking at our FT muses.. I think the ships that appeal to me the most are Erza/Mira, Mira/Cana, Mira/Freed, Freed/Loke (Ive seen you interact with Loke but can't see him on your muse list, is he still active? anyway djkf), Loke/Cana, Evergreen/Erza & possibly Freed/Gray but honestly I'm such a multishipper if the chemistry is there I can ship almost anything

I hadn't considered Freed and Loke, but that's such a fun idea honestly. I like to think they socialized a lot in the guildhall together (maybe with Mira and Evergreen as well), so that would be something really interesting to explore. As for the others, I have a fair amount of ideas hahaha. I love FT rarepairs.

As for Loke as a muse, I used to write him a lot??? But I kind of put him as a request muse since he didn't get a lot of traction. but happy to bring him back if there's interest!

Ooh. This is tough, because I honestly write pretty much whatever tickles my fancy without regard for whether other people will read it anyway, LOL. I'm excited to post more Stucky longfic (YEAR OF FINISHING WILL CONTINUE INTO 2023) and to finish and post the Steve/Joyce. I do really want to try writing Eddie Munson/Wednesday Addams, if I can brain up a plot for it. Right now the idea is just Good Vibes. I'm excited about a lot of the Femslash February pairings that I'm planning on for 2023, as well. But there isn't anything that necessarily sticks out to me like, "oh I wish that I felt like I could write X but I can't," because I just... do the thing, usually.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?

Of all time? I think Cinnafic, probably -- it's the oldest thing I have posted that I'm still actually quite proud of at least most of, and I just reread it this year so it's in my head. I think the District 4 story in that series in particular is what I've reread the most of my own stuff. If I do say so myself, the Vibes in that story are Immaculate.

Of things I've written THIS YEAR, Five Times Captain America Fucked A USO Girl & One Time Steve Rogers Got Fucked. I was in a writing fugue state while writing it so I didn't hyper-edit myself the whole time and make myself sick of it while writing, for a change. LOL

Oh man. I'm so bad at ranking pairings. I mean, I feel like I'd have to call myself a liar if I acted like anything other than Steve/Bucky were my OTP of the moment, but it's honestly kind of rare that I have a true One Pairing That I Like Best because I'm such a multishipper. I love writing Kate/Yelena. I love writing Gomez/Morticia, and I'm excited to write more Wednesday/Enid. I love writing just about any woman character/Velma Dinkley, hahaha. Tbh this isn't rlly an OTP anymore but it used to be. Like a year ago. Why am I making this abt chilumi now NO. The traveler is the only one Xiao opens up to which is cute, traveler is the only "mortal" he responds to.

Idk they're just cute yk. They have the rich power couple vibes, they both got into UA through recommendations. They are literally each other's biggest fans and of all todoroki or yaomomo ships this makes the most sense.

GIYUSHINO (GIYU X SHINOBU - DEMON SLAYER)

Not really an OTP but they are cute. I think I might ship it more if i didn't know how things end up with shinobu. It's cute when shinobu teases tomioka and tomioka is just so clueless abt everything i love giyu i ship giyu x me /j

TANKANA (TANJIRO X KANAO - DEMON SLAYER)

There isn't that much canon content fueling this ship but I always have the fanarts which make me ship everything even more... i didn't finish the manga but I do know that it's implied that they end up together and have grandchildren, but that last episode from season one Kanao was totally feeling something prove me wrong. Kanao reminds me of myself.. docile :(

Also do ppl actually ship tanjiro with rengoku that's kinda... Pedophilia and weird even if it wasn't....

i’d die to hear your thoughts on Speirs/Grant and their love language (or dynamic in general). i saw an anon ask about them a while ago and couldn’t stop thinking about it: one of the only times the audience truly sees Speirs act with compassion, with mercy, and with remorse is when Grant is shot, is it not?

what’re your thoughts on their relationship? the hand-holding moment and otherwise?

I'll answer these under the cut.

First of all: I don't mind at all! I rarely have NOTPs, tbh. Being a multishipper is fun. It just might take me a little longer because I need time to Think about them.

Honestly, I never gave these two too much consideration-- I don't write Ron a lot. So I had to do the equivalent of sitting down in the Thinking Chair ala-Blue's Clues to figure this out. For like... two months HAHAHA. I'm sorry it took too long. Life happened.

Second of all: I think Speirs acts with compassion, mercy, and remorse a lot of times in the series, it's just highlighted the most with the replacement in ep10 for two reasons, the first being: the reason why we think he doesn't act with compassion, mercy, or remorse in the first half of the series is because we don't see him outside of the glimpses Easy company gets or the stories they exchange. But after episode 7, he's suddenly with us all the time, and we see that his advice to Blithe was more of a... miscommunication, in a way.

Act with no compassion, no mercy, and no remorse toward the people you want to protect your men from. That's reason two. He's protecting his men from this replacement-- except, Grant is going to live. Ah, a conundrum.

Out of everyone in that room, Ron is the only one who knows that Chuck is actually going to live. So now I think his internal struggle isn't so much as "oh I should act with no compassion, mercy, or remorse-- but easy company has ~changed~ me." In my opinion, his internal struggle in this moment is: "ah, if I shoot him, that's not me protecting my men, that's me taking revenge." Which isn't in his moral code.

Ron acts with no compassion, no mercy, and no remorse, yes, but there's a certain level-headedness to him that keeps him in line. Sure, he's prone to bouts of petty anger sometimes (see: More and his photo album), but he never lets that get in the way of his judgement (see: More didn't back down, but neither did he do so in a disrespectful way and Ron recognized that, therefore he conceded his own defeat and didn't punish More). He does what is necessary in the moment and never takes it beyond that.

And I think that's where the core of SpeirsGrant lies.

Chuck's shooting drives him to the point of wanting to take revenge. He enters that room, gun drawn, with all the intention of shooting this motherfucker in the face. The only thing that stops him, I think, is everybody else in that room. They move away. And tho, cinematically, it never shows him acknowledging that they've moved away, I think that catches his attention and rattles him back to the present enough to assess whether or not he's doing the right thing.

The damage is done but has been remedied to the best of their abilities. Chuck is going to make it. Why the hell is he wasting his time on this lowlife?

The answer, of course, is: because it's Chuck.

He hurt Chuck and Chuck is important enough to Ron to want to go against his own moral code in order to avenge him.

That's why I think their relationship might flourish more after the war than during. It isn't that Ron is clueless about his own feelings, I just think it took him a bit longer to figure it out because 1) it was such a slow burn, and; 2) so much has been going on, he hasn't had time to figure it out for himself. It took one catastrophic situation for him to have that Oh moment. He loves Chuck. Or at least feels strongly enough about him that his first instinct was to throw all his cultivated composure out the window and nearly kill a man for him.

Anyway, I think Ron would be an excellent caretaker.

I mean, I've touched on this before, but Chuck hates acts of service. He hates having people take care of him because he's had it in his head that he is the caretaker. He's the strong one. And god knows those types make the worst patients. That's the only time he loses patience and gets angry, I think.

Ron has infinite patience, though. He's actually pretty slow to anger-- mostly because he understands it. He understands emotion quite well, actually, and it's why I think he can regulate it and control them so easily. He understands that Chuck is struggling to adjust and, really, it isn't Ron or Ron's care he's losing patience over, it's himself. He's frustrated that he can't do things that, just over a year ago, he'd been able to do with ease. Ron sees that and is careful to acknowledge it, but is also careful in making sure that he never enables it. Ron is gentle, but he's also unerring.

I think Chuck'll have a bit of a field day learning Ron, though. As I've said before, Chuck is adaptable when it comes to giving love languages. And with the amount Ron hovers, I think his receiving love language of quality time is rightly fulfilled. But Ron is so guarded, and also used to being the giver that receiving it foreign to him, so he isn't as quick to catch on that the things Chuck's doing (like getting him gifts, or touching him all the time, or complimenting him, or doing stuff for him) are actually Chuck trying to sus out whether or not he's into this kind of love language. It takes a lot to get Ron to show his hand of cards, too. So it's a long long game of cards. But it's ok, they have time to learn and relearn each other in peace time.

for the character ask-- nie huaisang?

For this ask game; so I’m mainly going by The Untamed, b/c it’s been a while since I read the novel and I’ve only read it once:

How I feel about this character: I love him and also he hurts my heart! I watch the early days and I wish to the depths of my heart that he lived in a softer world that allowed him to focus on the things he really cares about — the birds and the painting and chilling with friends. Not what he got instead — the war and the murder of his brother and 10 years of terror while he hid in plain sight making nice with his brother’s murderer and growing harder and colder inside year after year. It hurts! I don’t like it! And also, I’m angry with him for the way he used people during that time of plotting — I don’t know what happened with Mo Xuanyu (we can’t know, of course), but that was a vulnerable young man who committed suicide when he didn’t have to, when he might not have if he had been given a better life. And I do know what happened with Lan Xichen and I’m miserable about it! Hahaha, turns out there’s a LOT of feelings in me.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I’m an inveterate multishipper, so the answer is — I can be convinced to ship just about anybody with him (just no one from the older generation, thank you very much). I’m partial to SangCheng, of course. But I also think SangNing would be really nice and we should think about that more often. :3

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Wei Wuxian & Nie Huaisang BFFs! I want way more of that pretty much always. Also the Cloud Recesses Trio (WWX, NHS, and JWY) as a platonic OT3 is excellent.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I’ve made an entire post about this, but it seems to be a popular opinion that Nie Huaisang has spent the time after his brother’s death entirely alone and that he ends up alone post-canon. I disagree. He has an entire sect of devoted disciples, who must have been the ones to help him set his machinations in motion! I think he has a lot of people he cares about back home in Bujing Shi and who care about him. They’re just mostly off-screen, b/c he was keeping them away from the machinations for their safety. But Fatal Journey gives us a glimpse into Nie sect dynamics and I think of it as canon, pretty much.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Two things. 1) OBVIOUSLY DA GE NOT DYING WOULD BE GREAT! 2) During the time when WWX is in the Burial Mounds, I wish Nie Huaisang had been able to go to see him. WWX was his friend! In the drama, NHS specifically shouts to WWX to take care when they’re heading off to Qishan! I want them to spend more time together and for that to maybe change things.

D.Gray-Man Tag!

I got tagged by my friend Violet to hop into this little game she made, and there are few things I love more than babbling about DGM, so let’s go! The rules are to tag three people to get the game going, so I’ll do it at the start because this will get looong. I’ll tag @14th-melody, @metzzi and @rudimentor0x0. Here’s the blank post. Sorry if you have already done it, I might’ve missed the posts ;;

⭐ What year did you first get into DGM? Hmm, actually, that’s a hard question because I didn’t get into it right away? If memory serves me right about what grade I was in high school when that happened, I was 15 - so, 2008. Pull a chair, I’ll tell you how that went. It was actually a recommendation from a friend of my best friend; we weren’t particularly close, I just knew he and I had a similar taste for anime/manga and I was looking for getting into a new series... but I wanted it to be worthwhile. So I asked my bestie if her friend wouldn’t give me a rec. He recommended me D.Gray-Man, and just like I do before watching any series, I watched the first opening to get an overall “feel” of it and I quite liked it: cool aesthetic, music was dope, characters were nice-looking. But, for some reason, I didn’t watch it and eventually forgot about it.

Then, one day on my way back home from school, I stopped by a nearby newspaper stand since here they also sell manga. They were all very cheap at that time, so I would often look for new volumes of the titles I was collecting (my allowance was enough to buy two or three!). I saw DGM’s first volume there, and went “oh! It’s that one series he had recommended me! I’ll take it and finally give it a shot.”

I fell in love.

I really liked it at first, but the point where DGM completely won my heart was during Lala’s arc. I had never cried with a manga before. 

⭐ Who’s your favorite character? This is probably very unoriginal, but it’s Allen! At the start I was very lukewarm about him, but as time went on, I felt like I could relate more and more to that kind-hearted boy and he became my role model. DGM has been with me through some of the worst of my life, and Allen’s resolve to keep going, keep walking, no matter how hard things were for him was what motivated me many times in past. It still does. Allen also taught me to be kinder and through him I realized being there for others makes me truly happy. Sadly, I also share with him the same trait of being unable to truly see how appreciated I am and all the good I bring others just for being there... But I’m working on that! He became the first character I felt like I could fully relate to, and I was surprised - but still very happy - to realize that, now that I’m an adult with more experience and maturity, I feel like I can understand him even more and better than before. Our connection didn’t wane with time, I feel so much closer to him now. He’s very special to me.

Standing at the second spot - because it’s also fair I would mention her -, is Miranda! I always say that if Allen didn’t exist, Miranda would be my number 1 since she stands so close to him hahaha After him, she’s another character I deeply relate with. My self-esteem isn’t the best out there so I’m quick to think I’m worthless or useless, just like her. Even so, she wouldn’t give up. Every time I felt like giving up because of auto depreciation, I would think “Miranda would try again, she would work harder”.

It’s like the two of them were walking me through the steps so I could move forward and keep doing my best.

⭐ Who’s your least favorite character? I’m going to say Chaozii. But, before we get to the usual “Chaozii slander” we’re used to doing in this fandom, let me elaborate. It has nothing to do with him not siding with Allen. As much as I love Allen, I know we’re able of sympathizing with his ideals because as the readers we have a plethora of information on his motives; if not for that, we would probably take the same stance as Chaozii has taken about him.

What riles me about Chaozii is that, unlike all of the characters, his mindset is either black or white, good or bad. Everyone seems to have a perfect mix of both, showing many facets just like, well, real, imperfect people. Chaozii is the only one who doesn’t have that. Being simple-minded is not a bad trait, but when that clouds your judgement, then it turns into a bad thing.

It all fell apart when he snapped at Allen when he refused to kill Tyki. That particularly bothered me a ton, even if I understand his feelings. Chaozii, who thought it was wrong and cruel to kill humans and was grieving for his lost comrades, was fine with killing a human whom he wasn’t even sure if was being forced to do things or not. Do you see the issue here? Chaozii never feels to me like he’s striving to do the right thing in order to bring justice, but instead, because he wants revenge.

I hope he does get to learn one thing or two in the future. He has potential to be a great character; but he needs a “redemption” first.

⭐ Who’s your favorite general? Tiedoll! Although I like all of them for different reasons. I really love Cross and differently from what some people think, he did care for Allen and I love their rather dysfunctional relationship. He’s a much deeper character than just a womanizer full of fishy shenanigans. He’s also really badass: former scientist, user of magic, (former) wielder of both an Innocence of his own and another person’s (Grave of Maria). I just happen to love Tiedoll a liiiittle more because I can’t take this guy! He’s just so sweet, and his doting nature makes him both funny and lovely. General Sokalo is really cool and all, but I feel like he’s just a cool guy to me. On a side note, General Klaud could step on me and kill me and I’d thank her. I hope we get to learn more about her Innocence sometime.

⭐ Who’s a character you would get along with? I would love to say it’s Allen, but he’s someone really hard to get close to. If I think about the characters I’d like to befriend because of shared traits or interests, I think I could get along well with Miranda, Krory, and Marie. The first two because they’re two softies who just happen to be really awkward, I feel like I would probably befriend them after trying to comfort them too often. And, the latter, because I’m a person who likes calm company whom I can have honest talks with.

⭐ What kind of innocence would you have? I honestly have no idea. If I had to pick one from the ones we already have, I think I would go with the Dark Boots. Being able to fly and maneuver in mid-air would be a dream come true, I feel the happiest when the wind blows against me. If I have to think of something “for me” specifically, I think I would like a long range Innocence. I particularly like firearm-like weapons like guns, so maybe a gun or dual pistols? Yeah, I think I’d really like the dual pistols.

⭐ What’s your favorite ship? Ah, to be in the DGM fandom is to be a multishipper; yet this is the part where I always get nervous at because my favorite is a rarepair. But!!! I’m building up the courage to be more open about (and less self-judgmental of) the things I like. It’s Allen x Miranda. I don’t really know when it started; from what I said before, you already know they’re both my top favorite characters and very special to me, so I naturally loved it when I saw them sharing screentime. When I realized it, I was looking at them and thinking “they would make such a cute couple together”. It just kinda happened.

To keep this short, there’s this blog I really like explaining about this pair’s dynamics. I think they have a great dynamic together and much potential. They could very easily have a wholesome relationship based in lots of patience and mutually covering the other’s weaknesses and helping them become someone better. These are the best kinds of relationships imo. I hope to share some of my headcanons for them (and even writing, hopefully!) sometime in here. I always picture Allen being older, so that gives me some free room for creativity; it doesn’t look like he has time for romantic love right now, and I don’t really feel comfortable with him being a minor for this ship, so both things go hand in hand.

Honorable mentions go to Link x Allen (again, older!Allen), Yulma and LaviLena, as I also get super happy when I see these particular shippings. 

⭐ What’s your least favorite ship? I actually have some, but it goes against my policies to publicly (consciously) say negative things about certain things if I can help it. I know I’m allowed to have opinions, but you never know who can stumble upon it and what I dislike can be something that makes someone really happy, you know? I tend to stay silent about such things when it comes to something as harmless as shippings.

So, I think I can say I’m accepting of everything as long as everyone respects each other! And, of course, if it isn’t distasteful (as in, illegal).

⭐ What branch would you want to be part of? We’ve only seen the European and Asian branches properly before but even if there aren’t many choices, this is still a hard question; I think both have lots of good things going for them. I think I would probably want to settle with the Asian Branch! I love how lively the atmosphere is and I also feel like there are way less science division shenanigans in there... Sorry, Komui. 

⭐ What’s your favorite arc? I have three! The Rewinding City arc came right after Lala’s arc - that had touched me a lot -, bringing in even more feels. It introduced Miranda and at the blink of an eye, made me care so much about her. The first activation of Time Record after she protected Allen, followed by his thanks to her hit so hard; I get really emotional talking about it. It was such a great, yet touching moment. I think everyone can relate to that; being worthy of receiving gratitude for something they did for someone.

Then, there’s Lulu Bell’s Invasion of the Black Order arc, followed by the appearance of the Level 4 Akuma. I can’t express into words how great the flow of the elements are there. The plot is focusing on multiple characters with their own background dramas happening, all at once, yet none of it feels out of place. Everyone gets their moment, everyone contributes to the big picture (saving the staff and defeating the Akumas). It all felt like one big collective effort of several parts uniting forces, no one was more or less important than the other. It was expertisely done.

And the last mention goes to the Searching for A.W’s arcs (Saying Goodbye to A.W also included). These arcs are being extremely painful but, at the same time, also extremely rewarding to go through. For the first time ever, we’re seeing Allen give in to his wants and acknowledge his feelings; he’s not honest with himself very often, and seeing him actually admit that he still wanted to go on - for himself -, that he still wanted to hold onto hope was something that I suddenly realized I had always wanted to see him do. It’s like I had been waiting for so long. Allen is growing up, and I’m loving to see the part Johnny and Kanda are playing in this. I could talk all day about how happy it makes me, to feel this much hope in the midst of such a difficult situation these arcs are covering. It captures very well the essence of D.Gray-Man imo: the bittersweetness of the hardships of life, and the good things it makes us realize we have had all along. The people we have by our side. The will to continue moving forward because we still have something we love and want to fight for.

To nobody's surprise, my top 5 fics by kudos are (in order) the first 5 parts to the Jedi Shmi AU.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

Oof. I used to. But I ended up spiralling pretty badly uhhhh a couple years ago and had to stop. I feel like I should reply to comments, especially those wonderful long ones, but even though I do this whole writing thing, I always have a really hard time, like, knowing what to say to them? Like "akjsdfk;jf thank you" always feels inadequate, but writing a well thought-out reply takes a stupidly large amount of brainpower, and I'll leave them marked as unread if I want to reply to them and then they just accumulate in my inbox and I end up spiralling again, since it just continues to exist as a mental load of something I have to do and the avoidance just gets bigger and bigger the longer I put it off and–

look, I just get into my own head too much about it. I respond to questions, usually. I love all the comments but I can't let myself overthink it, and the easiest way to do that is to not let myself reply.

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

I guess Obi-Wan’s Terrible Horrible No-Good Very Bad Life doesn’t count because it... doesn’t have an ending yet? and I don’t know how angsty that ending is going to be. Even Composing Hallelujah doesn’t count because it ends happier than in canon, even though it’s... y’know, not exactly happy-ending.

Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you've written?

Hahaha I don't do crossovers often, but I have done them, and the craziest one I've actually written is probably my Sailor Moon/Puella Magi Madoka Magica fic. It’s especially crazy because I’ve only seen a few episodes of sailor moon lol

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

There's this one, like Ender's Game/Doctor Who fic I wrote and posted on FFN back in middle school. And it got a ton of hate, as far as I can tell mostly from the same person, talking about like, how bad and non-canonical and whatever it was. And when I migrated over to AO3, I reposted it there too. This was in like 2012. The migration, at least, the fic was written in... idk, 2010?

And then. In 20-fucking-19.

I got a comment saying "Terrible. Makes zero sense. It’s like the author threw canon out the window and took a shit on it." like lmao what??????

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Not any that I've been brave enough to post. And… also… nothing that I've actually written more than a few paragraphs on… I keep chickening out. I did recently make a deal with a friend, though, so… we'll see. If I do, it’s probably going to be quite dark, because that’s the kind of smut I like to read.

I've tried. It's never gone… especially well? I don't think any of them ever actually ended up complete, they all just petered out after a while.

I don't really have an "all-time favorite" anything, let alone a ship. I'm a horrible multishipper and I'm going to cause problems on purpose

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Sigh. Probably my intricate, 30-something-k unpublished Silmarillion Helcaraxë fic. It has so many moving pieces. I know where most of them end up but it's going to take so much effort to get there

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Hm. Given that I mostly write fic for SF/F, I don't run into the "real life languages" problem a lot. I end up working with conlangs of various complexity, for the most part, and for those… I'll sprinkle in a word or two if it makes sense, especially swear words and stuff. But for most of those conlangs, grammar is… less well-determined than vocabulary, so I almost never do phrases, let alone full sentences. I'll just put it in italics (if the POV character understands it) or say "and they said something unintelligible in [x language]" or the like.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

I think………. let me check the dates on this. I think the actual first fanfiction I wrote was sometime in fifth or sixth grade, for this "Zenda" book series I read?? Either that or Harry Potter.

What's your favorite fic you've written?

A big shout-out goes to The Lichtenberg Figure, which I can’t believe is the only Tamora Pierce fanwork I’ve published, but for my favorite... it's gotta be Messenger. Like, looking back, there is a bunch about it that I am very not happy with, and a lot of things I think didn't come across the way I wanted, and things I would not write the same way now, years down the line, as I have very differently balanced understandings of… well, a lot of these same characters. But, fuck, I just can't let go of Mandalorian!Beru.

A nice number! Not that big perhaps, but for about two years I mostly RP'ed, so there's a lot more words there for me to put up on Ao3.

I answer every comment, but sometimes it will take a while for me to do so.

On average, I have 3 jobs and run various accounts (some for other people) so I usually wait the comments out a bit, and answer in like 70-100 comments batches, or else I'll never get anything done.

But I love comments, I read them all, and I get stupid happy whenever I get them.

6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I mean... that is posted?? I don't know, Miscalculation is MCD, but also She who lives in the mirror is pretty heavy, and it took a lot out of me.

7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

I'm going to say Kosmo duty! but I honestly couldn't decide. I guess my readers should decide that, and if anyone wants to tell me which one they think ends the happiest, then I'd love to know!!

8) Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I ADORE crossovers!! I don't know about craziest, but I'll leave the two I'm most proud of, which are:

Her fire - a Voltron Legendary Defender meets Avatar the Last Airbender fic, which I'm insanely proud of, and anyone that reads it will have a special place in my heart forever.

Hold my hand - Harry Potter crossover with Avatar the Last Airbender, which is angsty, but lovely, with a hopeful ending.

(Both of them are basically me being in love with Azula)

9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I have gotten hate on anon asks on Tumblr, both for fic and RP, and recently I got a pretty shitty comment on a Harry Potter drabble that I uploaded to Ao3 from a Tumblr ask.

I've always deleted them without interacting, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

People, if you don't like it, no-one is forcing you to read it, least of all to comment. Don't be shitty, and let everyone have their own fun!

10) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have. I've written hate sex, and dub-con, some voyeurism, guided masturbation, idk, varied stuff... the thing is, I'm not good at writing smut on command, so it's very, very little compared to the angst, hurt/comfort and fluff that I have going on.

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12) Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I've had a Kyalin translated to Chinese, and I'm good friends with the girl that did it now!

I also have an irl friend who doesn't speak English (my first language is Spanish) who uses the google built-in translation to read my fics, and I've checked it out to see if it was too awful, and it's not the best, but at least it keeps things pretty accurate. She also asks me if something doesn't sound quite right.

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have an ongoing series called What's in a Word that was started with my RP partner, and I guess RPing is also co-writing a story, so yes.

14) What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Linko, always. Bumiroh, OTP. Sheith, an addiction.

Idk, it's impossible for me to pick one, I'm a multishipper for a reason, hahaha

15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I have faith that I will be able to finish all my WIPs, because I try to stay as positive as I can about everything. However, I do understand that sometimes readers are anxious or eager to know what comes next, but authors can't push the fic forward at the time.

So for those who might be reading WIAW, if you happen across this, I ask you to be patient. I love that verse, and I'll get to it, but Lin and Mako deserve me at my best to give all of you something of quality.

16) What are your writing strengths?

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm not particularly happy with my setting descriptions, but I'm also not sure I want to change that. Like, if you read one of my fics you'll realize I usually describe the bare minimum of a room, or house, or whatever place. I don't like it, I don't feel comfortable talking about the vase in the corner table, and I think readers do a much better job of filling those blanks while I squeeze their hearts with my hurt/comfort.

18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I say people can write whatever they want.

Would I appreciate it if they took the time to make it work? Yes.

I think the most that I've written in another language (including my own) is like three Spanish sentences in a silly "possession" twitter thread, and a few words here and there in Japanese, mostly for honorifics.

19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?

I wrote a very dark HP fic, that will never see the light of day, and I admit I have also written a Twilight fic that has been reduced to ashes.

20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I can't choose one, but anything that has Azula in it. Honestly, like, if you ever want to make me happy, read my Azula stories, I have poured my entire life there.

I'm a big multishipper, too! There's no ship that I don't like? My favorites would be wangxian and sangcheng though. I'm always up to reading these two ships, but I'd read anything really. I feel yah, I do. I can't pick a junior either. I love them all dearly but I tend to get bored if lan jingyi isn't there in junior fics? So far I haven’t read any other works of MXTX, but I think I wanna get to the one with the demonic guy in red and the white soft one next. What was it called? Heaven something? Now TMI tells me ‘City of Heavenly Fire’ which is absolutely not helpful. Uhm.. I could look it up, but then u wouldn’t witness my absolutely entertaining struggle of trying to make my brain work. General Questions

Do I celebrate Xmas? Yes, I do! I go to my mom’s place for Xmas, where we have dinner and then her boyfriend puts on his super old, super old and worn-out Santa clothes (which is very endearing, cause he is always having the time of his life). Then he hands us our presents which are gathered under the decorated Xmas tree and we have to cite a poem or sing to earn each present. Afterwards we all unpack together, excitedly thanking each other, have dessert and then watch a movie or a video of our past christmasses someone put together It’s all very wholesome. How about you?

Coffee, tea or something else? I like Moccachino, cause it’s an amazing hybrid of coffee and cocoa!! It’s best with coconut milk! That kind of coffee makes me feel all cozy and comfy, but I handle it like a treat. I only drink one, while a close friend of mine drinks several cups of milky coffee a day. I also love cocoa, but I drink it like others drink espresso. I tiny highly concentrated cup. No more. Like a shot of chocolate hahaha I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but sometimes I crave it. As for tea, I looove herbal tea! Peppermint and Fennel Caraway Anise are amazing. Also freshly brewed ginger tea. And green tea with jasmine/flower blossoms or white tea. Big love for these. All of which without sugar so the flavour comes out to speak of its very own beauty I also like mate tea to keep me awake! Otherwise I love water or - omg - freshly pressed apple juice! The! best! Try it if you aren’t allergic! AHHHH that is honestly THE TREAT for me. Rare treat. I don’t even have it once a year. More like every four years or so. But dang. The. best. How about you? <3

Which shows have I watched this year? Many. Lots of cooking shows (on Netflix), cause, you know, food. xD By now I probably know almost all of them. There was a time when I was thoroughly up to date with ALL cooking shows on Netflix. One of my big dreams is being wealthy enough to hire a cook. To cook for me every day. Yes, yes. I had definitively forgotten about supernatural until I saw it all over my dashboard in the year of our lord 2020 lmao like in my wholock days I tried to watch the show because everyone on my dash (is it still called dashboard?) was talking about it and I watched about 8 episodes before dropping it. But seeing it again on the dash was actually a happy surprise because the memes are too funny hahaha

I’m extremely shy irl and on the internet as well but I wanna say that  @janeturenne is one of the best authors ever and her fanfics are a blessing in my life; also @thebraxiatelcollection who brings awesome content to my dash and is also one of the best authors. Uhhh I guess I’m neutral about the current companions. They’re not my favorites but I don’t really dislike them - they had a lot of potential and chibs came up with some good storylines but did not develop them well in my opinion. I think Graham is a fun grandpa whom I’m going to miss when he leaves; Ryan is cool and could’ve done a lot more if the writers had kept a few things, it’d be awesome if he vlogged all of their adventures. He’s like the one I was curious to see more but sadly didn’t feel a connection; and Yaz, I hope she’ll keep growing and that her friendship with the Doctor will finally be developed to a level we can connect to her.

It sounds weird because with the fam it’s always ‘what I wish could have been’ because I never felt really connected to them :(

Ok... I don’t really ship Rey/Finn but I think it’s one of the sweetest ships ever, and if they ended up together I’d be happy. They love each other and are there for each other always so, yeah :D

I don’t know if I got the question right but it’s three things I wish I saw more in my main fandom? Well, if it’s that, then, 3 things about the Doctor Who fandom: 1) people having more civilized or light-hearted discussions about things. Like, I genuinely disliked an 8th doctor audio I listened once that my friends loved, and they made fun of me and we joked about it. Also once we were in a live twitch video playing among us and discussing doctor who, and then we got into a ship “discourse” as a joke and nobody really cared and just laughed because everyone knew it’s fictional shit so why get mad over it? 2) Doctor Who has a titanic amount of content, it’s all canon but at the same time it’s not, so who cares? If you want to listen to Big Finish audios and if you can afford it, then lisiten; if you can’t, it’s okay, no one has the right to tell you you’re less of a fan. Just tell them to fuck off; 3) The best way to keep fandom alive is by creating content. Here in my local fandom we have several podcasts dedicated to all areas of the whoniverse (the show, the expanded universe, the audios, etc), those old fandom websites who do serious work to bring news to the fans, people who make subtitles for the classic series (we don’t have it available here so they do their best to make it accessible to other fans), accounts dedicated to promoting dr who fans who create content, and we even have people making their own audiodramas with dw characters and writing book-lenght fanfiction to help explain the show to people who’ve never watched it, and a great variety of things. I’ve seen a few of these things in the international fandom, mostly by older fans, so I wish younger fans about my age who have the means to make this kind of stuff would make it too. Maybe there’d be less twitter drama out there lol

The Master is a big fan of musicals and in the 77 years he spent on earth he watched every single one ever. I’m gonna be bold and say that when he was young, still Koschei, he was an artist, and thought about dropping everything to become an actor on Gallifrey. Time Lords do appreciate art, and have their own plays, but it’s just the same old and boring ones the young people don’t care about. The Master then created a shocking performance that was way ahead of its time and the older Time Lords were so appalled they banned him from writing and presenting plays and that’s his villain origin story

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)

1) The Doctor and the Master married on Gallifrey and the entire show is just them having the most litigious divorce in the universe (still isn’t final because the Master has killed all the judges); 2) Ushas/The Rani is ace; 3) The Deca was a 10 people polyamorous relationship; 4) Romana and Livia were girlfriends at the Academy and they hate each other now because the break up was baad; 5) Romana writes fanfiction; 6) Romana/Leela had a thing in Davidia I KNOW it; 7) Leela pegs Narvin; 8) Brax has a life-size painting of Romana at his collection or a statue or smth; 9) Brax’s dream in Reborn is actually REAL and he’s married to Romana, Leela and Narvin all at the same time
