"NO ONE wants anyone to be trans or to transition!!!!"
Except for all the trans people who harass cis GNC people into transitioning and admitting they're secretly trans.
Pretending these people simply don't exist despite them very publically sexually harassing GNC people does not make you look good, it just proves you don't have any actual arguments.
Speculating about people's gender identities and harassing them to "admit" they're secretly trans is wrong, even if it's trans people doing the harassing and a cis person as the victim. You are not actually any better than the far righters who do the exact same thing.
Pretending that it's not a problem because society at large doesn't want GNC people to be trans doesn't absolve you or your friends or your idols of sexually harassing people over them not identifying in the way you want them to.

Gender Non-Conformity and Minority Stressors: From a Queer Perspective
By: Sarah Janco
Everyone deals with daily stressors. Whether that be losing a job, losing a loved one or getting ill. Yes, all of these things are terrible to imagine, but at least we know that a majority of the world experiences these stressors at some point in their lives too… right?
Now imagine experiencing daily homophobic remarks, internalized homophobia, the feeling of not being accepted, and having to hide your sexuality because if you don’t, you'll get fired. Does everyone experience these stressors? Or does only a minority of people experience these stressors? If you guessed the latter, you'd be right.
These unique stressors: experiences of prejudiced events, internalized homognegativity, expectations of rejection, and concealment of sexual orientation are all stressors that make up what is known as the minority-stress model. The minority stress model by Meyer theorizes that those who identify as LGB (lesbian, gay, bisexual), experience unique stressors which fall into one of two categories, distal or proximal. Distal stressors are external and include expectations of prejudiced events while proximal stressors are internal and consist of internalized homogeneity, expectations of rejection, and concealment of sexual orientation.
In a meta-analysis (fancy word for examining trends across a combination of various topic-relevant studies), conducted by Thoma and others (2021), the researchers aimed to see how gender nonconformity in LGB individuals is associated with the distal and proximal stressors identified in Meyer's model. Gender non-conformity is characterized as gender expression that doesn't conform to society’s ideals or standards of an individual's gender that was assigned at birth.
The researchers hypothesized that lower levels of concealment, greater frequency of experiences of prejudice events, lower levels of internalized homonegativity, and higher expectations of rejection would be associated with greater levels of gender nonconformity in LGB individuals. Additionally, the researchers hypothesized that gay and bisexual men would be more strongly linked with minority stress experiences than lesbian and bisexual women.
Results go on to show that as gender nonconformity in LGB individuals increases, experiences of prejudiced events increase. Gender was a significant moderator of this correlation. A moderator is considered the “third variable”, it can affect how strongly associated variables are with one another. Gender helped moderate this correlation because the effects for gay and bisexual men were stronger than that of gay and bisexual women. Gender also moderated the correlation between expectations of rejection and gender nonconformity in LGB individuals, which are positively correlated. Moving forward, results suggest that as gender nonconformity in LGB individuals increases, disclosure of sexual identity increases as well as expectations of rejection.
In terms of the second hypothesis, the research suggest that gender nonconformity can play a bigger role for gay men, than for gay women, when it comes to minority stress experiences. This shows that gender can be a significant moderator in these associations. Importantly, when including transgender participants, the effect sizes yielded stronger results showing that transgender individuals report higher levels of gender nonconformity than compared to cis-gender LGB individuals.
These results are important because it proves there is a link between minority stress experiences among LGB individuals and gender nonconformity. Although higher levels of gender nonconformity are associated with lower levels of internalized homonegativity, gender nonconformity can still put LGB individuals at an increased risk for negative health outcomes due to the heightened frequency of prejudiced events/expectations of rejection.
So, taking a look back at all this information it is clear that gender nonconformity can play a role in a LGB individual’s experiences of minority stressors. As a gender non-conforming gay woman, I sympathize with the experiences that gender nonconforming LGB individual’s face. It’s not easy dealing with the daily stressors of life but taking the time to understand the way minority stressors uniquely affect the lives of minorities can hopefully make us all a little more kind to those who need it the most.

I need to see other butches. I need to see other butches unapologetically masculine and shirtless and relaxed in nature. I need to see other butches on TV and in my books and in my shop and bar. I need butches whose masculinity is not apologised for by feminine or otherwise mainstreamly redeeming qualifiers, like whiteness, thinness, able bodied-ness, attractiveness, feminine faces, earrings, women's jeans and shoes. These things are all okay, but I need to see a butch character who's not been shaped to be acceptable for all audiences with reservations about queerness. I need a butch who's fat, hairy, deep voiced, who's older, who wear shirts and ripped jeans and boots instead of dapper suits. Butches who are on T, or have PCOS, butches who also identify as ftm, or as a woman no matter how they're seen. I need trans fem butches who are fucking ACCEPTED for however they show up in their bodies and clothes.
We need butches not sterilised and redeemed by cis/het normative bounds of expression.

Wayhaught Gender Fics
Tumblr media
It's been a minute but alas, I make my return to Tumblr. Today's random topic is Wayhaught Gender Fics. Now, if you've been a follower of my own AO3 account, then you may have noticed that a lot of my fics are mainly Wayhaught written in not, cisgender fashion. I've got a trans Nicole fic, a non-binary Waverly fic, and an intersex non-binary Nicole fic (WIP). I love the fics that push the boundaries of canon and don't just write Wayhaught in random scenarios like one of them being in the military or being a teacher, photographer, tattoo artist, etc. But people go out of their way to write non-binary, trans-man, trans-women, or gender non-conforming fics.
I typically enjoy these the most because I'm non-binary myself and I love the representation and gender euphoria that these kind of fics bring. There's 2 authors I would just love to shoutout for being such huge advocates for writing gender-inclusive Wayhaught fics and that's BlueJayBoi whose written one of my absolute favorites series on the site, everything you need to know and odaatlover who wrote a beautiful fic that centered Waverly as a trans-woman called The Truth About Being Transparent
Although I have a couple of cisgender Wayhaught fics in the works, I make it my main mission to write lots of non cisgender Wayhaught fics just because I have met so many enby and trans Earpers in the fandom that I feel it's so important that if they one day find themselves on AO3 like I randomly did, they can find fics that represent a version of Wayhaught that they can better see themselves in. Alright, that's my ramble for today. Hope everyone's been well lately!

it's so ridiculous when people claim cis men are "celebrated" for being gender-nonconforming and then you look at who's doing the supporting of these cis men and it's.....
oh. right. Other Queer people. Who are also supporting trans people and other people who are gender-nonconforming. But somehow the fact that they also support GNC cis men is somehow a bad thing, and the fact that these Queer people know what the word "solidarity" means somehow means that everyone else in society praises and celebrates these GNC cis men while oppressing the rest of the Queer people, so somehow these GNC men are privieleged and oppressing trans people just by existing as GNC cis men????????????????????????
Can you people stop trying to drag everyone else under the fucking bus and stop blaming other Queer people for queermisia existing for five gods damned seconds?
Stop fucking pretending cis men are not just as punished and demonized for gender nonconformity as trans people or any other Queer people. Just stop. it's 2023. You are not allowed to fucking lie about basic shit like this again.

Idc if they're a celebrity or an "influencer" or just some rando you saw on the street, other people's presentation isn't for your consumption and some of you feel way too comfortable assuming that other people's styles are in any way for or about you

Question for Wynonna Earp fanfic readers. What are you interested in reading? My main focus has been to write Wayhaught in different gender variations and sexual preferences. ie; non-binary, transgender, gender non-conforming or pansexual (lesbian/bisexual which is their preferences in cannon). Is there any specific way you’d like to see Wayhaught written? Even if it’s written as a cisgender pairing. What prompts are you interested in reading? Trying to get an idea of some ideas for when I wrap up the fic that’s currently being written and published. Your input would be much appreciated if you have any!
