honestly it was a red flag when bbc sherlock went “well obviously the word written in blood isn’t the german word for revenge, it’s clearly the beginning of the name ‘rachel’, what absolute idiot would fail to see that” when in the original novel it is, in fact, the german word for revenge, which sherlock points out gleefully to a roomful of policemen who all figure it’s the beginning of the name ‘rachel.’
and by red flag I mean it was a clear sign that the adaptation was trying to one-up the source material, instead of engaging with it with love.

The biggest wild moths I ever met were these delightful chonks. They're privet hawkmoths, the largest hawkmoth species that lives here in the UK. These friendly giants drop by my nieces often, which is where I met them. I haven't see this species in my own area yet, but may we always have such moths to look out for 🦋💖🦋

me trying to explain to people that being likable and/or funny and/or sympathetic and/or physically attractive are not rewards you get for being a good person but simply side effects of being a person with no inherent moral weight and that characters who are "bad people" having these qualities does not mean that the author endorses all of their actions or wants the audience to root for them
