Feeling hopeful
Grant writing and applications for professor positions piled up this week. I just had to decide what synonym is the best to use: promising—encouraging—hopeful—confident. Such grant writing feels good!

Week of Thought Provoking Questions
Cascadia Stack, how do you, as a company, feel about Capitalism?
During the Bernie Sanders)Elizabeth Warren days of bliss, when we were all hopeful for the change we want to see (who is this partial quote referring to? I will give you 2 carbon tax credits if you are correct, down in the comments, please).... My thoughts then have waivered about capitalism through my college years. Then during my Bernie period, I hated, no, Hated capitalism. But, then it was my Fox-News-watching mother in Texas that reminded me that what I should rather feel is that I hate "extreme capitalists".
Stack has applied for fiscal sponsorship
I will find out in the next 2-4 weeks if I will be invited into this awesome family of wonderful projects doing really good work out there. The point is that making the decision to switch from a for-profit company to a non-profit was an act of "letting go". Because the work we do in the Bioregion or Eco-region as some may argue, is the work for the people but also by the people. It is the people who live laugh and love here that will bring resilience to the land that we all love and honor.
Stack is submitting a grant proposal for $985.
It is a national grant so the competition will be huge. They have several awards to give so I am hopeful.
Once we achieve fiscal sponsorship then we are a 501c3 by proxy and can begin fundraising.
Thx 4 reading. Also, don't forget to put your guess as to who my quote was referencing in the comments to get your 2 carbon tax credits. (More on that later.)

the convoluted doctor who lore gets extra funny when you realize that, at two separate points in the past, two different companions to two different doctors ended up running into rasputin but both came to the conclusion that he was a pretty nice and normal guy. which, depending on how you interpret the power of the doctor, is either a nice subversion of a lot of tropes of stories used in pre-soviet russia, or side-splittingly hilarious as you start imagining the master getting roped into various adventures with different versions of the doctor that he can’t fuck with yet or else he’ll destroy the timeline, forcing him to play nice with the humans as part of his 4D Time Chess Master Disguise Plan #3852

i'm having thoughts about amatonormativity and why it sucks and they're long-winded and hard to properly express bc it's late at night but i wanted to share them so i summarized them with a meme
this realization brought to you by the realization that a lot of people who say acephobic shit without actively denying asexuality exists just mentally swapped "virgin" for "asexual" and carried on with their lives. this best evidenced by people being "accepting" of asexual women but ignoring/erasing asexual men.

How to apply for Seed Funding ?
It can be challenging to submit a seed funding/grant application. There is a lot on the line whether you’re trying to convince friends and family, angel investors, or venture capitalists to invest in your business. Obtaining seed money/grant successfully is crucial since for many aspiring business owners, it’s the only method to launch a start-up.

Do you know the feeling when you spend half an hour composing an important e-mail and then you get a 3-words-response?
It so much happens with native English speakers, doesn’t it?

While I find the discourse of "is farcille problematic?" irritating (well, all discourses are irritating), it provoked me to question whether there is any conflict (in this sense) in farcille relationship. Falin and Marcille are friends. They care about each other. Marcille uses forbidden magic to resurrect Falin and does everything she can to save Falin. But we see little from Falin's perspective, because for the most part she is either dead, or a chimera (and it's difficult to speak when you are a chimera). Falin is kind, gentle, and doesn't want anybody to feel pain; even in the form of a chimera she attacks (only?) when provoked and by Thistle's orders; with him and by herself she is as gentle as she was.
However, Falin lacks agency (I do think she has a free will, but this issue is complex): in the extra about rejecting Toshiro's proposal, she says that anything she liked was influenced by her brother or Marcille. She was sent to the school by her parents, she left the school to join her brother, she was controlled by Thistle.
Honestly, I don't have a conclusion, because these are just my musings. I think farcille's relationship is not a straightforward as "they are in love (the end)," but there is more to it.
(SO. Their conflict: Marcille can't accept Falin's death and mortality (see DM for the success of her strategy), trying to grant Falin immortality without consulting her, and Falin relies too much on her brother and Marcille.)
