You know that fic where Rocket only let's y/n pet him? I NEED MORE ITS SO CUTE. Can you do them cuddling in he living room or common room amd falling asleep then the other guardians walk in and catch them?

"its not a regular thing," Rocket whispers.

You scoff, peering down at the raccoon leaning against your chest, your hand playing with his.

"Of course," You press a kiss to the spot behind his ear. His claws gently scratching against your palm and fingers.

You're reclined in the deep living room sofa, one leg propped up on the coffee table and the other hanging off the couch. Rocket found you on his way to bed, and curled up in your lap. You pulled a thin blanket over the two of you, snuggling him close.

Slowly drifting through space, wrapped up, warm and snugly, with each other, you both fall asleep.

You both miss the sweet smile from Gamora and Mantis, the chuckle from Drax and the scoff from Quill.

But not to worry, Nebula took a lot of photos.

My favourite headcannon about rocket raccoon: relationships

One thing I love although it makes me sad is how hard instigating and maintaining romantic relationships must be for him. Besides the fact I headcannon him asexual you have to consider that he is essentially sorta between species. With a more developed humanoid brain he would feel out of place in the company of regular raccoons but because of his physicality he is still very much not human and therefore othered.

So this begs the question, who or more importantly what is he supposed to seek companionship from?

I personally love the idea of him finding a romantic relationship with another creature who for some reason feels othered by their society and despite the fact that their bodies are so different they have a mental connection and find a way to love. Idk, just spitballing

Headcannon: Rocket and Cosmo became the new Star-Lord and Gamora -ish. Especially with the rescued animals as they both create telepathic collars so everyone can understand them. They develop some 'dad and mom' dynamic.

I don’t see any of them watching a lot of movies so you definitely introduced it to him

He takes the longest time to finish the movies because it’s not on the top of his list when it comes to concerns

He’s one of those overly critical watchers so he’s annoying as fuck to watch movies with

I can see him liking Ultron

Why? I think he’d like the concept of Ultron and understand why he’s thinking the way he is

The type to agree with Thanos until someone points out he could’ve just doubled the resources

His favorite Phase is Phase 3 purely because Hela is his favorite character in the entire MCU

He’s legit upset she was killed off

I’d say which show is his favorite but I only watched Wandavision and TFATWS so moving on-

I don’t know if I see him reading the comics. Maybe if he’s curious enough

The Avengers and The Guardians of The Galaxy are pinned against each other a lot, but what does he think?

If the villains got a point, then they got a point. That’s just how it is.

He likes villains that can become better people. The pure evils ones he’s like “yeah you suck” but villains that are actually victims or who have done certain things but try to become better, he likes

Because of that I’d say his favorite villain is The Winter Soldier

He’s done terrible things but Kuai Liang feels pity for him and enjoys his story

I think either Avengers or Civil War is his favorite movie

He prefers the og era of the MCU and I think the Avengers as a whole reminds him of his family (petty as fuck towards each other but there’s ultimately love there) and Civil War was a banger

A situation where there’s technically not a right side is a topic I can see him liking

With that being said, he is both Team Cap and Team Ironman

Since he follows Liu Kang I can see him being like “sometimes teams need to be reined in and need someone to follow”

But in the same breath this is the same government that is corrupt and has proven themselves as not trustworthy

And people could always die before the heroes are able to help

Then there’s Bucky and he once again understands why Steve wouldn’t tell but he also understands Tony’s anger

He knows when they come out but he doesn’t see them right away

Guardians of the Galaxy headcannons

Here are my some of my headcannons (except they're mostly rocket lol). I might draw some of them in the future

The guardians are all a fan of boba tea. Its all their favorite drink

Rocket sleeps the best when he's squished or cuddled up with people because it reminds him of when he used to cuddle up with floor

When no one is looking, rocket has the habit of sometimes washing his food before eating. Quill filmed it once

Drax has warm hands and nebula has cold hands

Rocket doesn't like bathing so after a while of not bathing, they all pin him down and force bathe him like a cat but they all end up getting bites and scratches.

The guardians are a "bad influence" on mantis because of them, she learned swear words and got anger issues.

Rocket still does fatherly things to groot even when hes grown.

Nebula's fav guardians member is rocket because of all the time they spent together in the blip. They are very close.

After rocket almost died after quill got drunk. He never ever touched alcohol again.

After Rocket pointed out in vol1 that Gamora called him a rodent and how it affected him, she never even dared to call him something other than rocket, out of guilt. (she even corrects nebula in vol2 when she calls him a fox)

Rocket only tells Groot1 about his past. He used to tell baby groot too but in the form of bedtime stories that he doesn't remember anymore

Rocket has survivors guilt from when lyla, teefs and floor died. Then it just got worst when the guardians blipped.

If they ever rode a rollercoaster, drax would love it, peter would have fun, nebula would be fine with it, mantis would be very nervous, groot would feel uneasy after and a little sick and rocket would be terrified and literally shaking in his boots like a cat lol

Okay that's all

EDIT: I FORGOT TO ADD THESE

Rocket is a teeny bit dyslexic. He has a hard time telling apart right from left and confuses a lot of spelling.

Rocket is a jack of all trades and multitalented. He can do literally anything. His handwriting is unintelligible tho. Absoluteley atrocious. Its like its own language. Harder to understand than Groot. Only the guardians can read it.

So I don't know if I've talked about this headcannon before but I have this whole thing in my head of Goose having this mixtape that he made before he died like Guardians of the Galaxy type style but instead of it being like hits from the 70s it's songs from 60s up until the '80s that goose thinks that people need to hear at least once and Bradley found it when he was a kid and he had it for years but after his mom died he refused to listen to it it wasn't until after like the uranium mission that he finally put it back into his Jeep and listen to it for the first time in years, him symbolically letting his Mom and His Dad go.

♥️Although he started out making jokes when you would accidentally slip, he quickly noticed how vulnerable you were and his caregiver instincts kicked in

🚀 “So, what’s going on? Are you hiding anything?” He asks you one night, with a box on his hand, the box where you keep your regression gear

♥️ “Oh no! Now I will be definitely made even more fun of!” You think, Drax noticing how anxious you seem asks you to take some deep breath’s

🚀 “Hey, I’m sorry I made jokes about you earlier, I wasn’t trying to do any warm” He says softly “I promise I won’t make fun of you, not judging you this time”

♥️You nod, and let’s him see the items, he looks a bit confused “Well that’s too big for an actual baby, what’s that for ?” Drax asks, you sigh and explains your regression to him, how it helps you and why those items are important

🚀 “Ok, I see, so you are kinda like a kid ? Neat, I bet it must be pretty scary being all small in this big world, don’t worry, we are a team, I got your back” Drax says becoming your Cg!

♥️ He is a fun dad/cg, dancing, joking, letting you get messy! But he also takes really good care of you, making sure you are safe and happy

It felt wrong.

This sticky, annoying feeling, stirring in his gut.

Groot simply needed help getting onto the table for the mission meeting. And you'd gently kneeled down, extended your hand and waited for him to step up.

He sat in your palm as you lifted him to the tables surface.

And with the patience of a Saint, you waited until he crawled out of your hand and then returned your attention to Quill.

Rocket, on the other hand, couldn't get it out of his head.

Especially now, laying in bed in the middle of the night, tossing and turning not being able to sleep.

Eventually, he did dooze off, but you didn't leave his mind.

He found himself in the ship, in a large open space with you at the dining room table.

"Y/n?" He asked, walking up to you. You turned, holding three little raccoon babies in your arms.

"Hey," You smile, handling the babies with a concerning amount of grace. They squirmed and whine softly, but you rocked them to sleep in your arms.

"What's going-"

"Do you wanna hold one?" You ask, taking a baby off your shoulder and handing it to him.

He panicked, taking the baby and staring strangely at it. It obviously looked like him, but this baby had your eyes.

They were....

"Are these...." He looked up at you. "Our babies?"

You smiled. "Of course," You kneeled down, cupping the side of his face. "We're a little family,"

You leaned in to kiss him, your lips inches away from his-

A loud pounding outside his door woke Rocket up, covered in warm sweat and breathing heavy.

"Rocket! Wake your ass up! It's your turn to pilot the ship!" Quill yelled through the steel door.

"Alright, Quill, I'll be up in a few!" Rocket sighed, putting his head in his hands.

This was going to be an awkward day.

More... headcannons? Kinda? I dunno

It has an effect on you, growing up surrounded by magical items.

Cassie would know this the best.

Being raised with the Old Builders and their many mystical items has left her with some... oddities. But we already know these, so instead we'll look at the others and how they are effected.

Harper spent decades with the Redstone Heart, tinkering with redstone, building machines; even after PAMA has been dismantled, gone, dead, the woman can still feel the static at the back of her neck, can hear the electrical current running from one piece of machinery to the next; she knows, sometimes, how to fix things without even having to look at it.

Ivor and Soren both spent time with the Command Block, more than any of the others had, touched it with their bare hands, touched an item that could bend reality, create and destroy, that could tug at the threads of the universe, doing whatever the user desires; but Soren knew what he was getting into, and once the Order disbanded, threw himself into anything that wasn't the gods-dammed block. But even so, he can still see it, if he stares off too long, eyes glassy and unfocused, the code of something no mortal is meant to see.

But Ivor- Ivor who lived in the Farlands where order goes to die, who messed with potions and enchantments, who went far and beyond, first in revenge, then in curiosity- for him it's worse. Sometimes at night he'll be sleeping, but- and he knows it sounds crazy, because it is- but he sees himself, asleep, and the longer the stays there, staring, the more the world begins to unravel. Code- yellow, blue, red, and all the colours in between- flashing and crawling and taking over until only he remains.

It reminds him of the Witherstorm, devouring everything until only it remained.

And beyond it, he sees... something. He doesn't know how to describe it, but-

Here's the thing. The Command Block isn't supposed to effect people like this. It just... isn't, kay? But the constant use- creating portals between worlds when it was too dangerous to do so by hand, despawning an Ender Dragon (a dimension guardian), the corruption of a Wither (and a potion, a failure, but still soaking into it, dripping between pieces of hardware and redstone wires centuries old (sparking, glitching, failling), that too effected it)- it all adds up to this: like mold it takes over, spreading, invisible at first, but there.

And it effects Ivor, and Soren, and the Order- hell, even the other Builders were effected (and Cassie, young Cassie, left alone, staring staring staring, hearing whispers when there were none). And there comes a day when Jesse and Ivor talk. And the description Jesse gives him is- it's-!

- but Ivor stares at an infinite galaxy. Structures everywhere. A line-up of every plant, animal and sentiment being lined up like some twisted museum. And in the center- (calling-glowing-whispering-powerful)- is- its...

Well. You've met Romeo, yes? Looked into the eyes of an uncaring god, thousands of years old. And... well. Ivor muses that the Admins had to have gotten their powers somehow.

Mevia and Hadrian, more than Otto, guarded the Atlas with a fervor that had the man worried. The Flint 'n Steel weren't special, it was the enchantment on them that was, but the Atlas... well, making more of it would be a... trying endeavor, let's just say and leave it at that.

But that possessiveness leaves the two with a perfect sense of direction. Getting out of that bedrock world with nothing but chickens/zombies was easy, but it was this imprint of the Atlas' powers that sped that up by whole weeks, leading them straight to the weak point between walls. It helps them, Hadrian knowing where to step to avoid a trap in Cassie's mansion, Mevia knowing where to go in the cramped, desolate Underneath.

And- while it wasn't the crowns themselves that gave the chickens their Eversource abilities, but just a way to tell them from normal chickens- there is something there. Isa can tell Benedict from a normal chicken with just a glance, crown or no crown. Perhaps it's something innate within her, or because she took one as a pet- a familiar- but Isa knows an Eversource when she sees one, her own or a wild one. And it can't be a simple intuition, a guess, because she's always right. There is no tell, the chickens are identical down to their last atom- the only difference lay in the eggs they lay, and that's a magical difference, not a scientific one, so no one can actually tell them apart. Except Isa.

There's a magic to their world- their universe, with its millions of worlds and thousands of dimensions. And Cassie- free, seeking forgiveness, and mending broken and strained relationships- wants to see more of it.

And there is a man here, in Beacontown, who leaves her with fleeting feelings of familiarity, hair like hers, but while her eyes where the green of trees and grass, his were of honey and the sun.

She knows the looks they get- worried, suspicious, angry, horrified- and she gets it. Because they are similar. And everyone knows it, and they are worried.

But it doesn't matter, because Cassie Rose has never really cared for the opinions of the masses (being raised by Hadrian and Mevia will do that), and Romeo, after a few frightful, tiring weeks of being human, has stopped caring as well. Instead they spend their days, side by side, him telling her about times long past, her telling him recent events he didn't care to learn about.

And Jesse may have taken his powers, he may have taken Xara's, but Cassie knows magic, knows power. But she knows that people are fearful of such. And why wouldn't they be? They've gone through so much in only a decade.

So Cassie Rose stays quiet when Romeo gets angry and the room temperature rises or falls. She doesn't mention how his eyes glow, or how his teeth are still so sharp. Or how- when they leave, off to explore- the monsters leave a wide berth, never attacking the ex-admin. She pretends to not notice, like everyone else, she notes, how Xara can break blocks with a single punch, how sparks light up around her when she gets angry, how the tips of her fingers are still an endstone yellow, nails a code green in the right light.

She's more careful now. She's learned after all. She's more patient, observant, secretive. She has to be. Because now she has more to loose.

Before, she knew that if she died, then at the very least, Stampy (kind, sweet, caring Stampy) would take care of her cats. But now she has her dads (and she still feels weird calling them that), and her aunts and uncle. She also, uh, met this one kid? Aiden? And well... she likes him, she supposes, and they're similar, both, uh, attacking Jesse and what-not.

And Romeo. Red-haired, honey-eyed Romeo, who helps her take care of her cats, who knows potions and poisons, machinery and architecture, who teaches and cares for her. He fits right in, in her little (but growing) weird family. And she thinks he likes her too, missing someone, her being not-quite a replacement, but something to soothe whatever hurt still exists.

Sometimes he pats her head, ruffling her hair. She likes that.

She likes him, likes all of them. And... maybe she's finally happy.

This morning I randomly thought about all this, put it into words, and then I had to go to school without writing *any* of it down. So there's a chance I've forgotten some things. Which sucks.

Headcannon Time! Blackjack O'Hare

Since our lovely laogomorph is now in the middle of his backstory, figured I could do some headcannons/facts about him!

- I knew early-on I didn't want him to be from Halfworld. I wanted Rocket to have that loneliness of being the only one like him from High Evolutionary's lab. So I settled on him being a creation of Tony Stark's. This also continues with the theme of Blackjack being a good person who was made worse by bad people who were on their way to becoming better. Stark was an arms dealer, and I feel like that got lost in the shuffle sometimes. I also wanted to highlight that cruelty, and the same kinds of it, are a universal in the galaxy.

- He has a lot of parallels to Peter! While Peter grew up with an 80s experience, and is sort of frozen in time there, he grew up with a 90s one.

- He's named after a character in a violent 90s cartoon, of which there were plenty of. As someone who grew up during that time, there were a lot of cartoons from R-Rated properties that should NOT exist lol.

- Why DOES he sound British? This is actually an homage to Rocket’s first appearance in the comics, when he had a British accent. I also liked the idea of having a running gag of where it's addressed that half of space sounds like this. And it plays into a lot of 90s kids having TVs for babysitters, and nature documentaries being a go-to thing in the days before streaming when you couldn't afford the GOOD cable.

- He's a voracious reader and loves reading literally anything. In a regular month, he can get through about 30 books easily. This is a weird callback to the Pizza Hut "book it" challenge from the 90s that a lot of kids did. A lot of 80s and 90s kids in the U.S. owe their literacy to how much they desired a personal pan pizza.

- He knows Braille and also BASL -- Black American sign language. He also knows some sign language from other pockets of the galaxy. BASL is a lot like ASL, but tends to use two hands instead of one.

- He's intensely pansexual, and has instant crushes on Mantis and Kevin, among others. Over the course of his life, though, he has two great loves. Readers have met them both currently.

- His favorite music is rap and hip hop. This, again, is something where he's very attached to something like Peter is, but in a very different manor. The Guardians soundtracks were based a lot in classic rock, and I wanted each new character I introduced to be like adding a new genre to the playlist-- Sort of like a new instrument getting introduced in an orchestra, so it all comes together to make one big, beautiful symphony.

- He's not very handy. He's been alone a lot of his life, and had to figure things out by himself a lot, just by nature of not trusting overs.

- He has intense anxiety, and abuses anti-anxiety medications as a result. He's got the heart of a prey creature, and has to live in a world where he has to be on guard literally every second.

- He's fully blind, and he has Braille stickers and other aids to help around his ship.

- His ship is named the Jazzy Belle, which is a nod to an Outkast song. It's very old and he doesn't know how to make a lot of the repairs. He doesn't like parting with it because he isn't a very big fan of change or instability.

- He's also a foil to Rocket and Meti in some respects. He is a version of them that never got a support system like he needed. Rocket eventually got the Guardians, and Meti his family. They represent found family. Rook represents BAD found family in her introduction. Blackjack represents what happens when that help just never comes.

- A lot of his mechanics have bits and pieces of household items and toys. The red of his eyes emotes, which is based on one of these:

- The family he lived with on Earth is religious. He followed in this path, even if he doesn't feel particularly worthy of it these days with some of the underhanded things he's done as a bounty hunter.

- He can use both guns and blades, although he opts for a lightsaber-type blade. Why? I thought it looked cool as hell in my mind.
