so imagine the look of surprise on their faces when he blurted out that he needs relationship advice!! just quietly says that he thinks he’s starting to fall for someone and he asked them how should he approach it because he’s feeling so confused and scared … he spent the next few hours just spilling everything to his sister and her wife, telling them how he thought he knew everything there is to be known about liking someone in courtesy of his last relationship, but when he met yn?! everything was out of the window. he tells them he thinks it’s worth taking the risk to fall for her, but he’s scared she won’t feel the same way and he’ll ended up being the only one to fall again 😵‍💫

and even as they attentively listen to pepe and his worries, they can’t help but share a look of like omg !!! their baby brother is all grown up JDHJDDK and also the fact that they don’t recall him asking them for any kind of advice during his last relationship and he was in an ACTUAL relationship then, and not in some sort of limbo between friends and something more like he is now!!! so they know he def reeeeeaaaaallly likes yn 🥹 they try to give advices where they can, just a few things from their own experience to ease his mind and though they know he’s capable of making good decisions, a little push in the right direction never hurts <33

Hi!! I just wanted to say that I completely get not finding that much joy in the fandom/ harry and louis anymore. I had a mini minor tiny breakdown about it last night bc of the tags you put on the post you reblogged from me where you said something like please bring me joy, and I felt that so much 😭 this ask is gonna be 3 parts because i'm already running out of room oops

I think part of the reason is that I’m stressed and winter is coming so I’m also a little depressed. But I also think part of it is that there’s so much harry content but it just feels empty to me? I don’t know if that’s because I don’t connect to it as much but I also feel like he’s going through the motions if that makes sense? Maybe it’s just because I see things from afar (literally bc he’s in the us and the show is when I’m asleep) but I really feel like he’s on stage doing his job vs. 2/3

vs. last Europe tour where he was so happy and smiley the entire time. Plus spitgate being the first real general public harry hate and since then he’s really been the gp talk every week or so and I hate it. If you have the time, I would love to know how do you characterize Ingo and Emmet? other than the fanstories itself of course 😊 Do you have a guideline? Some perspectives on their characters? Some shipping dynamics? I kinda view Ingo as kind of passive in this case, except for a few moments where he has to break out of his shell (like for pokemon battles where he and Emmet whoop everyone's butt 😫😫). He's a very kind character. And Emmet is a great support! He's very energetic and could be in your face, but he has good intentions even if he doesn't like people very much (Noy shy! just prefers solitude!). Except when it comes to Ingo, to which then he will be do everything!!! Pokemon make them reunite!

I'm honoured that you'd want to know about my thought process! (I myself am not very interested in that kind of thing, so this is new!)

How do I characterise the train twins...? I wonder how I do that myself lol

Okay~ buckle in cos this might be long!

Guidelines on their character: Most of these are adapted from the multitudes of submas fics I've read prior to starting my own. These would include:

Ingo being LOUD and verbose

Emmet having clipped speech with barely any intonation

Frowny Ingo (˚∆˚) with minimal facial expressiveness (he can't help it!)

Smiley Emmet (˚v˚) with all the facial expressiveness

Ingo being polite and Emmet not giving a sh*t

I think much of these stem from how I like the twins having this complementary aspect to one another. They match each other's quirks, compensate for each other's weaknesses, encourage each other's strengths... it's just nice and cool imo ♡ A perfect two-car train! Wonderful synchronicity! Bravo!

Personal perspectives on their character: some of these may overlap with the guidelines bc I'm not sure how common these interpretations are...

Ingo being thoughtful, careful and prudent

Emmet being impulsive, active and spontaneous

Conscientious-of-other-people's-feelings Ingo

Honesty-is-the-best-policy Emmet

Ingo leans towards being a pessimist, correlating with his careful nature

Emmet's an optimist and simply wants the people around him to be happy and have a good time

Ingo is the ideals of their dynamic, able to come up with creative ideas and solutions

Emmet is the truth of their dynamic, able to work towards a goal and succeed, to 'turn the ideals into truths'

They work so well together as a two-car train that any arguments that do happen get cleared up almost instantly (idk how often other siblings fight, but I very rarely have any arguments with my own sibling so...yea)

They can be playful with each other (ie. pranks) but they are mature adults with a job, so they know when to pull the brakes and take responsibility

Emmet has this interesting contrast with being a chaotic, playful little sh*t (I say that with the utmost affection♡) but also possessing the level of responsibility and follow-the-rules mindset of a subway boss... so that's interesting to play around with

I'm probably still missing a lot of aspects but I can't think of anything else rn. Hope these little bits were interesting to read about!

Hm, shipping dynamics... I myself am a gen fic writer so I don't have any opinions on shipping. Not sure why, but it's kind of hard for me to see either twin in their own romantic relationship. They seem kind of... untouchable? I suppose? Perhaps that's evident in the Crystal Conductors AU, since the guys are literally immortal rocks lol. Not much romance to be found there, and if there was, it would be a sad one and I ain't gonna subject them to that.

But, I will comment that your thoughts on their shipping dynamics are interesting and do make sense! Ingo's calm passiveness~ Emmet's peppy enthusiasm~

The twins really do need their heartfelt reunion... *sigh* Alas, I shouldn't get my hopes up and expect too much ;;v;;

ive been dying to write to you all day, i started writing on this ask like 5 times but ive been so busy 😭 my whole body is itching to watch & talk about racing, i haven’t even gone on instagram since like 10am? usually i spend so much of my time on social media during race weekends?? 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Okay lemme just say

This boy is NERVOUS AS HELL when you decide to make it an official date instead of just hanging out.

But the day leading up to the date - he is a giddy, smiley mess. He is so so so excited.

No matter what you guys are actually doing for the date, he goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to prepare (tbh he would prob go above and beyond for every date you would go on, but more so for your first date)

He makes an effort to dress a little nicer than usual (but not like super formal like the soiree or the charity event), makes sure he’s all freshened up, maybe even wears a little cologne, and even makes sure there isn’t any sand or anything on him (even tho there probably still is)

He shows up at your door (or probably your window) and oh my god, that man looks STUNNING.

He probably also even brings you a little gift like flowers or something cute like that. This boy is very thoughtful.

Okay now onto the date itself.

I feel like you guys would do something different than what you normally do together when you're hanging out. So not hanging out at the hill or the beach or anything.

I feel like for your first date you would do something pretty classic tho like going out for dinner or seeing a movie together.

Cove definitely offers to pay for both (whether you let him or not is up to you lmao)

He probably also buys you a little something like he did when you were kids too.

Throughout the whole date, he has his classic little wobbly smile on his face. He’s shaking a little, but you can tell he’s genuinely really happy

But he eventually does get changed properly. He doesn't just go to bed in the clothes he wore out on ur date lol.

the best friend couple!!! sapnap tells you literally everything. any drama going on or any strong emotions he’s feeling, you know about it. most of the time, the second something happens his brain immediately goes “omg i have to tell y/n”. you guys always complain about the same things and get excited over the same things. you are genuinely one of the most important people in his life and he doesn’t know how he’d do it without you.

C is for Comfort (How do they comfort their s/o?)

he will literally drop everything just to hold you and not speak for like hours if you so needed. he strikes me as a naturally comforting person to the people he really cares about so I say he gets an A+ in this department

D is for Dates (What are dates with them like?)

dates with sapnap are either really chill or super fun. he’s the type of guy that would take you to play laser tag or to an arcade or a trampoline park. he’s like a little kid i love sapnap :3

he’s a pretty expressive person when it comes to certain things. at the very least he definitely wears his heart on his sleeve a little so it isn’t hard to tell even if he does try hiding stuff. and like I said he tells you everything.

I feel like he’s so young and he really just wouldn’t be thinking about that too seriously for awhile. like he loves you and you guys have talked about having a future together but he isn’t in any rush at all. hell just do it when he feels is the right time not matter how long it takes.

G is for Gentle (Are they gentle?)

it depends on the situation. he’s definitely the type of guy to pick you up from a super comfy position and just body slam you on the bed. but if he can tell you’re not in the mood to play around like that he’ll just sit down and hold you, so yeah he can be gentle. but most of the time be prepared for playful fist fights and getting picked up and thrown every now and then lol.

H is for Hand Holding (How do they like hand holding?)

sapnap always holds your hand. in fact he makes an effort to search for it whenever you aren’t holding hands. and sometimes he’ll even get whiny about it especially with like a lot of people around he’ll be like, “babe, why aren’t you holding my hand :( what if I get lost how are you gonna find me this place is big”

I is for I Love You (Who said “I love you” first?)

he did !! the first time sapnap said “I love you” was probably one of his most confident moments. he was so proud to be able to say it and so sure of himself and his feelings for you.

J is Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

YES OH MY GOD. he gets super jealous and it’s so easy to tell omg. his attitude starts to get like super bad and he is very clearly annoyed by the situation. he won’t ever be too overbearing about it and if you ever feel like he is once you sit him down and explain that he’ll back off a bit. but he’s still gonna be bothered by it so just always remind him that he love him and no one else.

K is for Kiss (What’s kissing them like?)

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IM ACTUALLY GOING TO BE DESCRIPTIVE SO IM SORRY IF ITS CRINGE. anyways, he’d be a pretty deep kisser but not like full on making out every single time. he just likes to make them last and he isn’t one to just give you random kisses all throughout the day so it always feels special. kissing him makes you feel all warm and happy inside.

L is for Love Language (What’s their love language?)

sapnaps love language is quality time or acts of service!! i’d say mainly quality time. even while long distance he just likes having you on call while he does stuff or even just complaining to you about how tired he is while actively not going to bed so he can keep talking to you lol. he just likes having you around it’s a huge comfort for him. i say acts of service because he would get so giddy and happy anytime you did something special for him. he would show it off and brag about it forever and it would genuinely mean so much to him aahhajdxh i love sapnap

M is for Memories (Their favourite memory with their s/o?)

For your first time seeing each other irl, sapnap flew to where you live and you guys spent a whole week together. his favorite memories are definitely from that first week of seeing each other in person. of course you guys already had an amazing relationship while long distance, but there’s something so different about finally meeting the person you’re with in real life. it felt like he had to start over from scratch and you guys had to get to know each other all over again. also the idea of now having to build a physical bond. it was just such an amazing and beautiful experience. definitely the one that made him realize he really is in love with you.

N is for Nicknames (Their favourite nicknames given and received?)

IM SO BAD AT THINKING OF CUTE NAMES USHSJDH. probably just babe tho lol. for fem!readers, i can totally picture him using princess in a slightly sarcastic tone.

O is for Open (At what point do they start opening up to you about their life and feelings?)

mmm i’d say he actually starts opening up to you pretty early into the relationship. If you guys were like really close friends before hand he’s definitely already opened up to you. He doesn’t really have that many people in his life that he doesn’t trust.

P is for PDA (Are they into PDA?)

not really but he isn’t like super shy about it if that makes sense ??? like he’s 100% fine with hand holding, hugging, and light pecks when saying hello or goodbye.

Q is for Quiz (How much do they remember about you?)

I don’t think he really tries to remember stuff but he just does and he’s always making connections to you and things he sees and stuff it’s so cute :)

R is for Romantic (How romantic are they?)

he tries but he isn’t exactly the most romantic boy. like I said before you guys have a best friend type of connection so when it comes to romance he doesn’t go too above and beyond because he just doesn’t feel like he needs to. but on special occasions he will do something nice for you. He likes taking you out places !!

very much of both. once again, total sapnap vibes. i’d say he’s a lot more possessive than protective. he would never stop you from doing things like going out without him and having guy friends or making flirty jokes. he trusts you so much partly cus he’s a little narcissistic LMAO. but when a serious threat comes about he can get kinda crazy.

T is for Try (How much effort do they put into the relationship?)

GAAAAAA HE PUTS SO MUCH EFFORT IN!! you would probably be like his first ever serious partner so he would try his best at literally everything. in the beginning of the relationship you could totally tell how nervous he was at times but as you guys got more comfortable he just became an effortlessly amazing bf
