At the start of this project all I wanted was to 'learn how to draw' using comics as a medium and the MDZS audio drama as inspiration.

I've come *very* far from making simple, 3 panel black and white comics, and I truly do intend to go even further. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on throughout 2023, it has been an incredible year in so many ways I never could have imagined. I look forwards to drawing throughout 2024 B*)

#poorly drawn mdzs #art summary #It's so interesting looking back at how my style and technique changed throughout the year!#I used PD-wwx as the consistent factor (October is an exception) and you can see so many processes going on.#My little petri dish amoeba (with a little red bow to tell him apart from the other amoeba) <3 #Whether it's getting new markers or trying out a new shading style - it's cool seeing a snapshot of my journey like this B*)#There's certainly been a slower curve to my overt improvement *but* I have become so much faster!#My life outside of drawing has been hectic and at several points extremely stressful this year. For all the work this blog has been-#-It has truly been a life saving anchor when the darkest of times have hit.#Love is hard work. Change is even harder work. Sticking to a goal I set out for myself and striving to keep going was worth it.#And I love drawing. I think there has always been something in me that longed for this. And it is finally tangible! I can draw!!!#I wanted to make a more elaborate year reflection where I looked back at my favourite comics and jokes.#but I'll leave that to the one year anniversary.#I have also been collecting a ton of statistics throughout the year and I am desperate to share them. The message of one of the most underrated scenes:

This whole part is like discovering Alex and Henry's feelings throughout the songs.

Alex has a Spanish love song to declare that he's nothing without Henry anymore and only sees him, no one else. He doesn't sing it, it's only the background music, cause it's a new feeling for him. He's still coming to terms with the fact that he's in love and hasn't shared it with the world yet.

Henry, instead, sings a song out loud. It's a drunk mess but he's telling everything he's feeling for the first time. He's declaring how good the relationship with Alex is making him feel, yet he might burn for how fast he's going. He's supposed to slow down but he wants Alex to be his supersonic man and they might crash but, in that moment of freedom, it doesn't matter that much.

Henry has always been the one who said "I love you" first. He just couldn't do it with words so he used eyes, body language, letters and songs.

English translation for non-Spanish-speakers:

And now I can only write love songs to you. Only now I can discover my love for you from here. What will you do, that now I can only write love songs to you? There's nothing anymore, nothing important anymore without you, here. And now I can only write love songs to you. And I hope that the world will manage to make us stay always like this.

Spanish lyrics:

you know what the blood gulch chronicles are so fucking funny. the first few episodes is just a bunch of idiots shit talking. absolute useless nonsense.

but its not random rubbish being thrown around. the conservations, as ridiculouse as they are, have a flow. You can actually follow how you got from a to q, even if just looking at a nd q seperately is like, how the fuck did that happen. every comment bounces off of a previous one.

red team trying to name M12 LRV. its just gold. the bickering. simmons being the one not believing that pumas are a real animal. how they keep roasting grif for 'making up animals'.

the way the lines are delivered. it's hilarious.
