001: Eto x Arima

oh you are just a little devil aren't you. under the cut!

when I started shipping it if I did:

sort of(?) shipped it when re was coming out and the one-eyed king reveal dropped, but it wasn't anything crazy, just kind of obligatory. there was also cute art of them. then i read this post, which leads with this image:

illustrating the visual parallels of eto and kaneki and the overwhelming power arima holds over them (plus his physical abuse of them). and so i stopped shipping arieto from a strictly romantic perspective. funnily enough, this is also when i started shipping etoken hard. arima's toys getting together and making out in front of him was also a pretty funny image.

my thoughts:

there's a quote: "everything in the world is about sex but sex? sex is about power." and this is the epitome of that. for eto, her theoretical pursuit of arima is the former, but the reality is the latter. arima wields much control over her, whether he realizes it or not, and it's that power that twists her feelings for him into something ugly, resulting in the eto we end up seeing in kanou's lab and with kanae.

What makes me happy about them:

trying to break the eggshell is better than not trying at all. but also, i like how arima, a grown ass man, effectively hijacked a teenager's loneliness and anger against the oppressive system and took advantage of it to serve his own ends of being loved by everyone (everyone). as for eto, it's interesting how she effectively continues the cycle of abuse that he taught her through others (yasuhisas, kanae, hinami).

What makes me sad about them:

their suicidal tendencies and ignorance to the potential of love around them, i suppose. arima's refusal to open up to anyone causes way too much friction in the relationship, especially when his partner is someone like eto, who thrives on picking up little body languages, but this dude is a complete mystery.

things done in fanfic that annoys me

not enough of a dumpster fire. they work together too well more often than not. arima is the only person eto would not ever viscerally call out because he can kill her in two seconds and make everything for naught.

things I look for in fanfic:

again, toxic dumpster fire ship dynamic. maybe arima cares about eto, but eto's feelings for arima are founded upon being taken advantage of, and if her conversation with kurona and nashiro are anything to go off of, they have been twisted into that of bitterness and regret.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: 

pfft. etoken, and then arima x his grave.

My happily ever after for them:

a situation in which they don't feel the need to do anything, really. a time where they can actually pursue their interests and not their obligations. i don't know what that looks like, but finally letting them breathe and them taking those breaths is a good ending in my book.

who is the big spoon/little spoon:

arima is the little spoon, and eto clings to his back like a backpack.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity:

eating at a restaurant, i suppose. arima likes books, but he's like a brick wall when eto tries to wring anything out of him, and somehow he dominates the conversation when he speaks. so they turn to food, one of the things they can share with little issue.

Akira?

My first impression: Ngl I did NOT care about her. I did not know who she was and why we were getting introduced to her (I was skimming through the CCG parts cause I was an IDIOT and did not care about anyone outside the Kaneki group and was terrible with names so I didn't even realize she was the daughter of the crazy guy from the early chapters so. oops)

My impression now: She has issues!! And she's pretty!! Therefore I love her <33 But yeah she's probably one of my top 5 favourite characters in tg and she's underrated imo. But yeah she needs therapy. Also she's a lot more chaotic then people give her credit for.

Favourite thing about that character: I like the whole idea of her character, like she comes off as cold and really strong when deep down she's lost so many people and yet she doesn't have anyone to talk to and can't express her emotions properly and there's something I love about that <3

Least favourite thing: Uh... hard to really think of one, I guess it kind of feels like after she goes off with Amon she just becomes irrelevant to the story which sucks but I might be wrong since I haven't read the later parts of tg:re in a while

Favourite line/scene: The scene where she defends Takizawa. Other than the obvious seiaki brainrot, it's also really important to her character development. She's watched people she's loved die so many times, and she's been holding in her grief for so long, and idk I just thought it was such a pretty scene and I think it was nice to see the emotions she's been bottling up finally come to the surface.

Favourite interaction that character has with another: Her scene with Hinami and Touka was really wholesome, I thought it was nice :>

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: The quinx squad, she interacts with Haise a bunch but I wanna see her relationship with the others too

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Can't really think of one sorry

A headcanon about that character: One time she was walking with Takizawa for whatever reason and they passed by a pawn shop and one of the things in the window was a fucked up cat figurine which she was immediately entranced with and Takizawa jokingly said she should buy it which she did and now she has a shelf full of fucked up cat figures that she lovingly maintains

A song that reminds of that character: Uh... Oh No! by Marina fits her pretty well I think...

An unpopular opinion about that character: I don't know much about the fandom's actual perception of her but she seems like the kind of character the fandom would designate as the "braincell holder" which. She is not. She gave her BOSS a speech about why being polite is a waste of time. "Oh we can actually save 2,000 seconds a year if I don't say please." Bonus points is the fact she probably just did it for shits and giggles. She does not give a shit and she does not have the braincell.

Favorite thing about him: His protectiveness! Setting aside his anger and issues with getting close to people, he’s very protective of what he can be. Remember the flashback where he and Touka were taking care of that bird? This boy wants friends and to keep those friends safe

Least favorite thing about him: his stubbornness. Look it can be cute, but he joined a militia and ate chunks out of his sister to avoid sympathizing with humans and at some point someone needs to drag this child home

Favorite line/moment: getting his shit absolutely rocked by Kaneki. I love him but he needs to get curbstomped

BroTP: Ayato and Hinami! I see them more as siblings than partners since Hinami was sorta adopted as a sister by Touka. I think that Ayato would bring out the bastard in her and they’d be monsters, the best siblings

OTP: there’s no one in canon I really see him with, but I like the idea of him falling in love with a human. I just think it would be adorable for him to meet a human and go from calling them Meatball (derogatory) to Meatball (affectionate)

NoTP: Ayato and Kaneki. That is. A 14 year old. He is a middle schooler. I don’t know why people ship him with adults.

Random headcanon: when he’s got nothing to do, just waiting around wherever Aogiri is staying at night, he has a tendency to make little forts. Ghouls like having small dark spaces and for him that instinct is very strong. Every place Aogiri stays has some little hiding hole made of chairs or blankets or scrap metal or whatever was there. He refuses to admit this “weakness” but he can’t sleep without the security

Unpopular opinion: he didn’t join Aogiri in some long game to protect his sister, he joined because he was angry and afraid of getting close to humans. Maybe as he matured he realized how much he cares about his family, but he was never fighting with a goal in mind outside of slaughtering the CCG, he was just a scared kid

Who do you think are the best looking characters in tg?

Alright Im gong to be a little cheater-Because a characters outward appearance changes in ‘best looking’ to me. Like whos the most aesthetically pleasing, who has my favorite character design, and all that stuff.  I know that your talking about like ‘whos the hottest characters?? Who would you fuck though??” And Im not that upset by it-Because there are good looking characters in Tokyo Ghoul lol

Characters shouldnt be dwindled down to looks-But i’ll still do this. All of these characters are much more then just pretty faces and I hope I’m not coming off as belittling or something.

Just keep in mind who I think is the best looking isnt subjectively the best to everybody~Also I wouldnt date any of just on appearance either. Thats a different list lol This is a long one so have a ‘keep reading’ lmao

Alright my favorite character designs would be, this is not who the hottest are,-

My boy of course lol. Hes not ‘hot’ to me but I do love staring at him. I love his stitches and the way his hair is drawn. My favorite stitching pattern is the one he has while fighting the twins-But my favorite in general ‘look’ for him is in Re:. Hes just really-really nice to look at. ^^ Next would be-

Haise is a dork and I love him~ Once again-I dont think of him as “hot” at all. But I love to stare at him. His hair is so fluffy and his face is just nice. I love the black and white hair together-Its different to me and is just…pleasing. I love his character design haha.

Karren is a very underrated character in my opinion. But I’m not here to talk about her character-Im here to talk about her looks. I love her hair, her eyes, her face everything. I think shes just-very, very nice to look at. I still wont count her at the ‘best looking’ in hotness but I think shes very pretty, very nice to look at. 

Last one for character designs is-

Something about Saikos eyes and the way her hair is-Its draws me to her. And she has a cuteness factor thats also amazing. Shes smol, adorable, and cute. I just like to look at her panels. 

Now for the real meat and potatoes I know you want. Still going to cheat tho lol

I’ll do five female characters and five male characters-Since both are really good looking. 

Females-

Kimi is beautiful and just-Damn Nishiki I see what you see in her.  I have a weakness for the ‘hair being pulled behind one ear’ and Kimi has that and I just-Look at how beautiful she is. Shes so, so good looking. I love her appearance so much.

You’d be hard pressed to find a scene with Hsiao NOT being hot as hell. Like shes very curvaceous, has a beautiful face, her legs are to die for and thats not even part of it. Her hair is also just. Ugh shes so good.

Kurona is yet another underrated character-In looks and personality. Shes very good looking to me, her hair style is one of my favorites in animes-and her pupilless eyes are just stunning to me. I love how she looks-Even with the ‘body horror’ element to her I still love it. I dont know maybe I’m just weird lol?

2. 

Touka is literally just so. Attractive. Is every sense of the word. Her half bun hairstyle, her blue fluffy one, her normal one-All are just so, good looking. I dont remember a scene where she looks ‘bad’.

Akira is just. So pretty, so beautiful. I cant NOT look at her when shes on screen. I just-I love her so much and her looks are unparalleled to me. All of these women are beautiful-But shes on a whole other level to me. I know most people prefer Touka, Rize or Eto-But I think shes my favorite beauty.

Now for the men-

I mean just like-Look at him. Hes so good looking? Like to his hair, to his body, its just all-really, really good looking. lol I dont know what else to say other then that lol.

Everybody in the fandom already knows how good looking this man is lol. I dont even have to explain it much. I love his piercings, his tattoos and his hair and hair style is all attractive. Hes an all around 10 you know?

Tsukiyama is so pretty? Like I love to stare at him. Especially in Re:-He had underwent a total glow up and Damn. Am I loving it.

Literally everybody should know by now just how HOT AS FUCK Urie Kuki is. Hes a literal fireball. Like hot damn dude-Can you just NOT distract me for a full five minutes?!

Mutsuki is just really, really good looking. I love how his hair is, how his eyes are-Everything. I just really love how hes been drawn-And always look forward to it next time-Not just because of my love for the character-but because of how attractive he is to me.

There’s a new category this year. Inspired by kpopalypse, welcome the Honorable Mentions! Movies that weren’t exactly bad but also weren’t good. Movies and dramas are qualified to enter if I watched them for the first time this year, not that they were released this year. Click on ‘keep reading’~~

Best Movies:

1.      Parasite

Another masterpiece from the director of Snowpiercer (let’s pretend Okja never existed). A poor family con their way to a rich household. Choi Woo-Shik from The Witch (see below) is the eldest son and mastermind, fabulous as always. Definitely the best movie of this year. For me, movie of the decade.

2.      The Witch Part 1 The Subversion

This movie is amazing, hard to describe without spoilers. A perfect mix of Stranger Things and Hanna. Choi Woo-Shik can come to my house and kick my ass anytime. I can’t wait for part two.

3.      Death Trance

Visually stunning, kinda like Amemiya Keita’s style in early Garo or Mad Max. I wish the movie was longer and the characters were better fleshed out, Ryuen the monk and the little girl had so much potential... The most interesting thing about this movie is how sexualized the main male character is compared to the female ones, and apparently, the swords were designed to look like veiny penises (can’t find a source for this info), and yes, they do look like veiny penises. The final showdown is heavy with sexual energy. Have I already said that Ryuen deserved better? #RyuenRights

4.      Gintama 2: Rules are made to be broken

The barber shop scene is a fucking cinematic masterpiece. I never laughed so much like I did with this movie. The way it doesn’t take itself seriously, the meta jokes, everything is perfect. Even better than the first one.

5.      Kingdom

While I think that some fight scenes were way too long (like the bamboo forest one), the dynamics between Shin and Hyou/Eisei were highly entertaining, at least in my shipper eyes. I like that (SPOILER) the King of the Mountain People is a woman and not once they try to call her Queen. She is a King. Hashimoto Kanna is adorable as a Ten, Kanata Hongo does a great job as Eisei’s psycho brother, Sakaguchi Tak waves his sword around, the usual stuff but with added layers of dirt and sweat.

6.      Bravestorm

A movie I lovingly call “Japanese Pacific Rim”. Full of Kamen Rider stars (Hino Eiji! Misuzawa Haruka! That girl from Heisei Generations, the one with a sword! She has a sword in this as well!) and giant robots (god, I love giant robots!), I waited so much for this movie and it exceeded my expectations. I just wish I could’ve watched in theaters, it had a limited showing in my country.

7.      Twelve Suicidal Children

What begins as a murder mystery ends with a twist you won’t see coming. All of the actors are amazing, but special mention to Sugisaki Hana and that guy from that one boy group I forgot the name but can’t be bothered to Google.

8.      Gakkou Gurashi

Four girls and their teacher try to survive the zombie apocalypse trapped inside the school. This one destroyed me for days.

9.      Forest of Love

I’ve watched some Sono Sion movies but nothing prepared me for this. Be aware of extremely gory sequences and sensitive topics. Hinami Kyoko is so amazing as blue-haired, punk girl crush Taeko that I totally didn’t notice she was AkibaBlue in Akibaranger.

10.  The Host

After watching Parasite I decided to go on a Bong Joon Ho binge and watched this horror movie. Not as good as Snowpiercer and Parasite in my opinion but heart-wrenching nevertheless. The little girl is the star of the movie.

11.  The Hungry Lion

A story about the dangers of social media and slut-shaming. I want to punch Mizuishi Atom in the face.

12.  Cromartie High

A little absurd comedy about yakuza-style high school boys (played by middle-aged men lol) forming a club to battle aliens summoned by themselves just because. It made me laugh like a child. A hidden gem.

Honorable Mentions:

1.      River’s Edge

Depressing as fuck. Warning: the cats die. It’s not graphic but it’s traumatizing. Yoshizawa Ryo is a gay boy who sleeps with old men for money. There’s a graphic sex scene (not Yoshizawa, sadly) where my only thought was “That thing is gonna get stuck in there! Use a condom!” Can’t remember much from it except for these three scenes.

2.      The Disastrous Life of Saiki K

Yamazaki Kento has the acting chops of a dead fish but it comes handy for playing a teen with psychic abilities and zero social skills. Hashimoto Kanna is one of the prettiest girls in Japan. Yoshizawa Ryo with white and blueish hair looks more like Sakata Gintoki than Oguri Shun in the Gintama live action. The end is a huge let down but the fun ride is worth it.

3.      Ano ko no, Toriko

Congratulations to Yoshizawa Ryo, he has FIVE movies in my list of favorite movies this year! This is to make up for crowning GIVER as the biggest waste of time of 2018, this list is totally not biased, lol. “Ano ko” could be just another romance movie but the (very) little insight into how the entertainment industry works and not focusing on school life made me love it. Poor Sugino Yosuke being left behind again, when will this boy get the main girl?

4.      Monstrum

It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but it’s pleasant enough to fill a rainy afternoon with a lot of blood and spilled guts. Hyeri of Girl’s Day is the heroine and Choi Woo Shik is the commander she falls in love with.

5.      Weirdo Go

I confess I watched this one just to see Ji Li (aka my snake son Nie Huaisang) dressed as a woman but it was enjoyable and not that problematic.

6.      Real - Kanzen Naru Kubinagaryu no Hi

Directed by the same guy that did “Creepy” and “Before we vanish”, there are lots of twists you won’t see coming. And a dinosaur. A fucking dinosaur.

7.      Tomodachi Game: The Final

The movie loses its focus halfway through then picks up again minutes before ending. Yoshizawa Ryo delivers again as the sadistic Yuuichi, much like his role in Gintama. The plot twists are the star of the movie.

8.     The Living Dead

Sorry Wen Ning. I saw the plot twist coming in the first 30 minutes of the movie, not very smart of the writer. His personality did a 180° turn for worse and I’ll demote the movie to an honorable mention for it. Gao Han is cute though, I would like to see him as a better character.

9.      Backstreet Girls

Some recycled scenes from the drama to situate the viewers, a completely new story for the movie, it is certainly funny and enjoyable, if you can get past the forced gender reassignment surgery background and transphobic jokes (you shouldn’t get past it btw). I like the soundtrack.

Best Dramas:

1.      The Untamed

2.      The Tale of Nokdu

This Korean romance had everything to be a mess but it wasn’t!!! *claps* I don’t hate the main female character and the whole palace politics actually kept me interested until the end. The complete shift of atmosphere mid-season was strange at first but ultimately very welcomed.

3.      The Naked Director

Netflix original Japanese content is amazing. This one is a look at the life of a legendary porn director in the late 80s, I learned a lot about the history of Japanese porn and censorship (yay pixels!) and went looking for his, erm, works. Very graphic, 69/10 don’t recommend watching with people in the house.

4.      Channel wa Sonomama!

I don’t remember it well but it’s about a news station and what is like to be a journalist and it was very interesting and funny.

5.      SCAMS

Forgettable. Sugino Yosuke with black hair cons old people via phone calls.

Worst Movies and Dramas:

1.      The cat in their arms

The cats spend 90% of the movie in human forms, and halfway through it they simply abandon the cats’ plot to show a fucking long montage of a weird guy painting a picture of a nude girl. It’s also super creepy to see a grown-up man acting like a cat, getting belly rubs and eating cat food from a bowl. Yoshizawa needs to choose his roles more wisely.

2.      Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

A waste of Suda Masaki’s talent. Can Japan stop casting Tsuchiya Tao already?

3.      Samurai Marathon

Almost two hours of dirty men running through a forest. Maybe Japanese History experts will enjoy it, because I certainly didn’t.

4.      Lady Vengeance

While there are legit great moments, I didn’t find this “classic” to be anything special. The animal cruelty was too much for me.

5.      Hot Gimmick

This movie makes Bohemian Rhapsody’s editing look like a work of art. There are more flashing cuts than a T-ARA music video. I have no idea who likes who, who’s banging who, what even are they saying. Too much poetic shit for my like. I wanted to see Shimizu Hiroya naked. I was bamboozled.

6.      The Divine Fury

While some parts were interesting, at the end I still don’t know if the protagonist is possessed by a demon (if yes, then why would he help a priest destroy his friends?) or if he was blessed by God when his father died and talked to him (the glowing hand thing, why and how??). The exorcism parts are really, really scary, or maybe I’m just a chicken, but I had to avert my eyes. The best (only) part is that the protagonists are hot. Hello Woo Do-Hwan, you can sacrifice me to Satan any time…

Summary: Touka decides to be honest with her feelings and hopes that it will be enough this time.

Touka let out a sigh of relief once it was her shift break and headed quickly to the break room. Her heart did a little jump when she saw the half-eyed ghoul--Kaneki--sleeping on the couch.

Closing the door quietly behind her, she tiptoed towards the couch opposite the one he was sleeping on and sat down slowly. He was sleeping so soundly that she can't help but lean forward, put her elbows on her thighs and rest her face in her hands with a smile.

She watched him sleep for some time before noticing how his lips moved, as if attempting to form words. Curious, she waited patiently to see what he would say and the words that came out shocked her.

"Touka-chan..."

Of all things, her name fell from his lips.

Her heart started racing. Was he dreaming about her? Why would he call her name?

Wanting to make sure she didn't hear wrongly and that she wasn't deaf, she waited for the next time he spoke. If there was a next time.

And it happened again.

"Touka-chan..."

He called her name in his sleep again.

Abruptly standing, she walked over to him and poked his cheek repeatedly. "Heyyyy. Wake up."

Kaneki's eyes cracked open and he looked around dazedly. His eyes widened upon realizing that Touka was standing in front of him with a frown. He shot up to sit instead of continuing to lay down. "T-touka-chan?! What are you doing here?"

"It's my break time, of course I'm in here. Why are YOU here? Your shift doesn't start till 2 hours later."

"Ah right... I had time so I thought maybe I could rest in here for a bit. Umm... Why are you looking at me like that?" He withdrew further into the couch at the deadly glare she was giving him.

Her eyes narrowed. "You called my name in your sleep. What were you dreaming about? Something perverted huh?!"

"N-No! Wait, I called your name?!"

"Not only once, but twice. Why was I in your dream? Tell me."

He winced. "Promise that you won't be angry no matter what I say?"

"It depends on the contents of your dream. I might kill you."

It was scary how she said it without any emotion on her face. She was serious and he swallowed.

"I--I was dreaming about how we were both in the same room where I had my head on your lap and you were...stroking my head. Umm, running your fingers through my hair."

Her brow raised. "Why would I be doing that?"

"I don't know.."

That was what he said because he couldn't very well tell her that he had a crush on her, now could he? He knew this dream occurred due to his unrequited love and wanting to be close to her.

"Oh well, since you were dreaming about it, let's give it a try." Touka sat down beside him on the couch and forced his head down onto her lap.

"W-Wha--!" Kaneki fell onto her lap clumsily and found himself facing the opposite couch. Her hand rested on his head and soon she was stroking his head gently. His throat felt extremely dry and he can't help but feel so many things.

He felt the warmth of her thighs, the gentle caress of her hand and the racing beat of his heart. His cheeks flushed red and Touka laughed at him for being so shy. Despite teasing him, she herself also felt a little embarrassed and self-conscious about her actions.

What was wrong with her? Her normal self would never do something like this. Normally, she would beat him up for even having this kind of dream involving her but she was now actually enjoying the feel of her fingers through his silky black hair and the cuteness of his blush on his cheeks.

"What else did you dream about?" She continued asking, her voice coming out gentler and more feminine than she thought it would.

Kaneki squeezed his eyes shut. She would definitely kill him for the next one. "Y-you leaned into my ear and told me you liked me. I-I know that will never happen because you'll never like someone like me--"

The rest of his words were tuned out as Touka stared straight ahead and started thinking. Like, huh? Her cheeks burned. She liked him plenty well actually. After what happened with Hinami and Tsukiyama, she found herself falling in love with the innocent him.

When she was young, she always looked up to her father for being the kind man he was. She wanted to marry someone like her father.

She looked down at the male in her lap and counted mentally the reasons why she liked this man.

1. He was caring to Hinami, who she treated as if she were her own sister.

2. He was gentle with how he treated her wounds when she got them from an investigator.

3. He was humble. Maybe too humble when he refused to take credit for the good things he had done.

4. He was understanding. He covered for her when Yoshimura scolded her for getting involved with the doves.

5. He was hard working and willing to put in the effort. She could see it in his training and the improvements he has made.

Touka then thought about how she has never been honest about her feelings with the men in her life. When her father left, she didn't say anything to stop him from leaving. When Ayato left, she only scolded him and never once asked him to stay.

She loved both of them but she couldn't and didn't say a word to make them stay. Instead, she hid her feelings and always ends up regretting what she did not do and what she could have done.

People tend to get distant when something bad happens to them and this often ends with them leaving. Having been abandoned so many times by the people she loved, she could tell when someone had those thoughts.

While Kaneki pretended that he was fine by faking his smiles, she noticed that he had changed since the incident with Hinami and Tsukiyama. She knew that the thoughts that once filled her father's and Ayato's mind were now in Kaneki's mind.

For her father, it was her mother's death that made him want to die and join her in the afterlife.

For her brother, it was their parents' deaths that made him realize his weaknesses.

For Kaneki, it was for strength to protect his loved ones that he wanted to leave.

And so, to prevent experiencing the feelings of abandonment once again, Touka swallowed her pride and leaned down to his ear, hoping that her words would be enough to make him stay. As long as he stayed, they could work everything out.

This time, she would be honest about her feelings.

This time, she would make sure that he would stay.

"I like you, Kaneki."

Touken hcs

1) Kaneki is reading a manga (that Touka recommended) and he witnesses the intricate art of kabedon being performed. He thought it was silly at first, but he couldn't help but be curious as to whether it really elicits that dramatic, swooning effect. And so, when he goes to Touka's cafe (that she had opened recently) and finds her in the break room, alone, he plucks up his courage and tries kabedon on her. She stares at him, confused, his face was now red with embarrassment. When he leaves, ignoring her snarky comments, she takes a minute to calm her racing heart.

2) During the nights when Kaneki comes home late, he sometimes finds Touka sitting quietly at the table with a coffee. She's sometimes overwhelmed with the stress of looking after Ichika and the cafe when everyone else is busy, though she has a hard time finding an outlet to such frustrations, so she'd remain quiet, silently repressing it all. Kaneki understands as soon as he sees her and when she gets up to make Kaneki a coffee, he grabs her hand and takes her to the couch, sitting her on his lap. He starts to massage her shoulders and back and all the while, he insists that she should go out with Hinami and Yoriko, promising that he'll look after Ichika for the whole day tomorrow. Touka is always grateful, even if she remains silent.

3) Ichika is SUPER into anime and you can often find her loudly singing along to the catchy openings every now and again. Because of this, Kaneki and Touka also end up humming along. Whilst Kaneki is more bashful when he's caught doing it, Touka is full on embarrassed and hides her face in her hands. With how cute it is, he often ends up teasing her, humming the tune when they're together. The slaps and small punches to the arm are worth seeing her blushing face.

☕️ Your thoughts on the Tokyo Ghoul :re ending.

☕️Oh god, I have a lot of mixed feelings until this day . I feel melancholic , sad, angry and disappointed.

☕️The one of who I am more pissed off is Takizawa. He just ends sad, lonely and angry when he was one of the most beautiful humans ever. He was just a victim. I hoped that in the end, he would be happy. That all the bad times would be worth it and he would end his life with friends but no. Only sadness for someone who never did anything except try the best he could and did everything for his friends. Gosh,poor boy. Same about Kurona. 

I do not have anything to say about Akira and Amon because they aren’t there. I have to re-read to confirm that I do not passed a page about them.It was weird.

☕️Then the Qs. They save Mutsuki and then promise they will be together and as a family , only to in the last chapter discover they live in different places, without talk that much .It just feels wrong. They should keep the promise. And how they found Shirazu body is so forced . I like Yusa though, it seems he lives with Urie and that makes me happy because he deserves a family and a nice place to grow up feeling safe , which he can call a home. I can imagine a slice of life about it. I want that spin-off of the Chateau!

I still think that Ishida had planned to tell us about Hide and his past in another way as he did, but because time has to be rushed. Still it makes me love Hideyoshi even more . one of the best characters for sure.

Suzuya and Shinohara made me cry hard. Juuzou has always been my baby and I want only good things to him. I thought the scene of Shinohara waking up would feel more forced but no. Ishida did it great and Im grateful for that. Im pleased that at least my boy was happy, alive and with his friends and dad.

Ui is the best!

Now seriously, it’s sad them not getting that much screen time. They are cute with Ken daughter, I guess…

☕️I hate that Shuu do not have anything else besides his work, he deserves a movie-like love life. Im sure he could move on without Kaneki, but Ishida don’t want that and it pissed me off. At least he looks handsome.

☕️Naki being alive it’s a big NO. I like the dude but he had one of the most beautiful deaths of the manga and it lost all meaning. Like WTF Ishida.

☕️Talking about nonsense, what is Eto doing there in chapter 175? who knows. Why isnt she in the last chapter? who knows. I just do not have idea what Ishida was thinking. It makes no sense. Same with the Clowns and V. We never got anything of them. Just chapters of mystery without conclusions or answers. 

This still makes me think that the last chapter was Kaneki crazy imagination because he was dying (in the chapter 178 page 14) and in reality nothing of that happen and the world still in chaos , but now without him.  I remember thinking that this was created to confuse us .That maybe Ishida did that to return one day and create a part 3 if he wanted , but if not , at leas his manga has happy ending. I still think that but now I do not think the part 3 will come, but who knows. Everything could happen in the future.

☕️I have mixed feelings about Kaneki.In this last chapter I do not love him as the beginning , but I do not dislike him as I did with Black Reaper. But now I remember him as the guy I really look for and cherrish , I remember more the great times and how kind , intelligent he was. And how much he cares for others. I remember him drinking his coffe while reading , or taking care of Hinami and helping Shuu or talking with Hide. I still loving him and I feel grateful for that . One year ago I was afraid of hating him forever but he still being my boy. Look at that face

i was thinking like since touka and kaneki has a girl and their next one is probably like a boy (like the kirishimas), what if ayahina had a boy, a girl and then another boy like the yomos did. so anyway, their first child is a boy.

hinami’s pregnancy kinda surprised ayato because he tries to be careful about it, aside from maybe one or two times when they didn’t use protection. how unlucky but it’s ayato so /shrug/

no one else is surprised when hinami tells them she’s pregnant and they’re even less surprised when she says ayato is the father. 

ayato is super protective of her while she’s pregnant. he doesn’t let her do anything at all, not like she does much when he’s around anyway. 

they were trying to come up with names for their kid but they’re both really useless at is since ayato thinks ‘blood abyss’ is cool while hinami literally named her bird ‘loser’ so they go to touka and kaneki to help. kaneki comes up with a list of names, but it’s ichika who chooses it-- she’s just looking at the list and she randomly screamed a name out or something 

i’m stealing the name i used from another fic, but it’s ‘haru’ and the meaning has something to do with light from (what i have in my fic notes) but anyway please don’t think of that water guy

when hinami is in labour in the hospital ayato’s too confused to do anything. he’s in the ward with her, the nurses and doctors are running around, but he’s just staring at all of them wide-eyed, not sure what he should do. hinami looks like she’s in pain as she tries her best to push. it hurts him seeing her in pain but he’s so proud of how much effort she’s putting into it. he takes her hand and holds it tightly, whispering softly to her and urging her on. 

when he hears the cry of his son, ayato freezes for a moment. he doesn’t know how to react nor does he understand the feelings he had at that moment. it takes a while, but one of the nurses brings a small bundle over to him and passes it to him. he takes the baby gently, but also with a lot of hesitation-- the kid is small and he feels so fragile, what if he hurts him? 

he doesn’t have anything to say as he looks down at his son. he’s so beautiful. he feels too overwhelmed to speak. it’s the first time in a long time, but ayato realises he’s crying. after everything that’s happened, after everything that he’s done and after all their struggles and pain, he can’t believe this is actually happening. it feels like a dream. it feels like he doesn’t deserve it. but it’s real. it’s happening. hinami’s there. his son is there. he’s a father now. hinami’s a mother. they’re a family. he has his own family. 

“hinami!” he chokes out, turning to her and showing the baby to her. “hinami, look at our son.” 

hinami’s so exhausted that she can’t physically share his excitement. but he knows she feels just as happy. she weakly raises her hand and she lightly strokes the baby’s face. 

“our son...” she murmurs. “haru.” she doesn’t have much to say either and it’s not even because of her exhaustion. she finds it surreal too. the last time she had a family was over ten years ago. sometimes, it’s easy to forget what a family feels like. she’s not like ayato-- he has a sister. her parents were suddenly robbed away from her when she was young. looking at ayato and their son now, hinami vows that she’ll protect them, that she won’t let anything happen to the both of them. 

since hinami is a teacher, she probably has fixed working hours while ayato probably only has to work whenever he has a mission. i feel like shuu and banjou will probably be more lenient on him and let him off work whenever he needs to take care of the kid. when hinami’s able to go back to work, ayato finds himself taking are of their kid more and more while she’s at work. he kind of gets reminded of his own father, and how arata had taken care of him and his sister when they were younger.

not to say hinami’s completely absent or anything. ayato’s probably there with the kid in the day/afternoon and hinami’s probably there in the evening/night. they kinda try to shuffle their timing when ayato does have to go to work. hinami probably spends her time reading books to their child. the kid probably ends up picking up her love for books as well. when he grows up, he picks up a lot of his mother’s personality and hobbies, though he looks almost exactly like his father. 

ichika loves her baby cousin. she and her younger brother always come to visit. touka and kaneki drop by with them as well and they always give advice and tips to the younger couple. their families are very close.

the first time haru falls sick, ayato wakes touka up in the middle of the night by calling her and screaming to her over the phone. it turns out to be nothing much-- ayato overreacted way too much-- and touka tells him what to do. haru recovers by the time he gets up in the morning. ayato is kinda embarrassed about the big fuss he made but hinami thinks it’s cute.

hinami never lets ayato buy clothes for their son. she knows how bad his taste in clothing is. but she also knows what ayato likes so she always dresses him up in cute bunny-themed clothes. once she even buys a matching family set and ayato’s like ‘what the fuck’ (but he wears them everywhere). 

when haru’s a little older, ayato teaches him how to fight. hinami gets worried thinking that it might make him violent (like ayato was in the past) and that he might do something but ayato tells her that he’ll make sure haru doesn’t become like that. ever. it’s the part of his life he has the biggest regrets over and he’ll make sure that never happens with their child. he does point out that even if they’re in a relatively peaceful world, self-defense is still important as there are dragon spawns still running around anyway. haru is generally a gentle and quiet boy so hinami’s fears are put to ease pretty soon. 

anyway, when haru’s about 2-3, hinami gets pregnant again

Hide and Kaneki talking was amazing! We all wanted more scenes with the two of them, so I’m happy we got to see them talk one last time.

Also, it was a long time coming, but Hide’s backstory makes sense, and it makes it even greater that even if his father was killed by ghouls, not only did he accept Kaneki, but also his ghoul friends. Hide truly is the best.

-if i do have children, i want to tell them that i will never judge them for who they want to be. i hope they will be as open as possible and that i would never want to make them uncomfortable. i would encourage talking about problems and just communicating needs in general. idk, basically everything my biological parents didnt do

-tbh my parents are awful, awful parents (and one of them is just a purely disgustingly, horrid person) and i would never wish for them to tell me anything bc on the off chance that they did try to parent, it was to tell me how much of a burden i was, or something racist/homophobic, etc. 

-if they were better people, i wish they would have told me it was okay to be struggling and its okay to be lost rn. i wish they would have encouraged open communication and kindness but well, i learned that all myself : )

-nope! i sometimes really wish i did, but relationships honestly stress me out and idk how to talk to irl people : ( i love platonic relationships a little more honestly, makes me feel more comfortable

-ye! most of the time theyre just silly names like spiky (for when we had a cactus a long time ago) or red/pink (the colors of the roses), etc. idk about now bc i dont have any plants currently
