suicide cw
look i have been in this area before mentally. it sucks and i wouldn’t wish this on anyone. but, and this is going to sound callous, but i don’t feel any sympathy for james somerton. even if i hope he’s like. not dead. But thats all the amount of goodwill im willing to give him. The more i think about this really, the more angry i am.
ngl this entire situation is another example of how white people weaponize their mental illness to avoid consequences. Im seeing it in real time.
this man has a continuous habit of using self-harm as a get-out-of-jail-for-free card. in both of his apologies, he has worded his supposed attempts in ways that were clearly meant to guilt people who displayed his plagiarism and overall horrendous history of racism and misogyny. i say supposed because, while i’m not saying those are lies and this would he such a fucked up thing to lie about that i don’t want to think he has, unfortunately, it’s been proven again and again that his word can’t be trusted, as he’s known to lie to try get out of consequences. Hes a proven liar. him lying about this is actually the best case scenario, because no one should go through this entire situation, wouldnt wish this on anyone, but you can only do this so often before people stop sympathizing with you. is this callous? Yeah, but like. I’m actually fucking angry he cant straight up take no as an answer. that this is how he reacts realizing he cant be one of the Cool Kidz™️ on youtube anymore. he acts like he DESERVES a career, like its not a privilege hes lost due to his own actions.
He lied about apologizing and forgiving people, he lied about giving the money to hbomberguy to give to ppl he ripped off (yknow, instead of doing it himself), he lied about the jessie gender situation and rewrote the narrative to make it so he isnt the bad guy, and hes the victim all along actually!
you can’t tell me that supposed last message of his isn’t meant to be a 13 reasons why esq attempt to deflect the blame “look i’m going to kill myself and it’s all YOUR PEOPLES FAULT for not letting me achieve my DREAM of being filmmaker IN PEACE!!! I just wanted Nick’s (the guy who I have thrown under the bus again and again) portfolio up!! Im just being a good friend dont you all FEEL BAD” he refuses to take ANY ACCOUNTABILITY of any of his actions and he IS STILL trying to shove the blame over to other people again.
it’s also pretty ironic people are like “uhhh well hbomber’s fans harassed him!!!” like hbomber outright told people NOT to HARASS JAMES!!! ALSO acting as if james doesn’t have a very real documented history of STRAIGHT UP sending his fans to harass and threaten smaller creators, more notably women, trans, and bipoc creators. especially after he’s stolen typically very personal anecdotes so he could profit from them. so why can he do it but the second people are like “hey this guys an actual piece of shit.” and he can’t handle it suddenly people are trying to white knight his shit? like no he doesn’t get that. he doesn’t get that at all just because he couldn’t handle the consequences of his actions.
what? were supposed to stay quiet about a man profiting off of other minorities because he wanted to be the spokesman for all gay people? people tried to solve this on a smaller, more private scales for YEARS and he kept doing it. it was clear that the giant public video was the ONLY way to get people to notice. HE WOULDVE GOTTEN AWAY WITH STEALING 87 FUCKING THOUSANDS WORTH OF DOLLARS. HE CANT HANDLE THE FACT HE CANT GET AWAY WITH IT.
am i supposed to feel bad for the guy who basically threatened a trans woman with the police? i don’t care what anyone says, it’s so fucking obvious that he threatened jessie by implying he was getting the police involved in their conflict. what am i supposed to act like that didn’t happen? are we supposed to pretend like he didn’t glorify nazi’s and outright said that gay people made up a good chunk of the nazis? That he didnt say america joined ww2 bc they were jealous of the NAZIS. WHAT WOULD POSSESS YOU TO FUCKING SAY THAT. but then? He gives women (not even women most of the time, he misgenders nonbinary ppl constantly) shit for writing mlm. are we supposed to act like he doesn’t straight-up sees himself superior and better than people of color and steals their works to put himself on a pedestal? Are we supposed to act like he didnt spit on our elders by saying “only the boring gays survived aids” like man! Fuck you! He BLANTANTLY MAKES UP HISTORY TO PUT HIMSELF ON A PEDESTAL!! HE ACTIVELY TRIED TO REWRITE LGBT HISTORY TO SUIT HIS FUCKED UP NARRATIVES!
yes this sucks ! no one deserves this but no one should be making him a martyr. Thats what he fucking WANTS! He wants to be immortalized as a victim!! (again, supposedly, it was reported hes alive but its not confirmed).
The shit he got isnt near the amount of fucking callous behavior hes done again and again. Again, to drill this point, EVEN IF HE DIDNT CALL THE POLICE HE THREATENED A TRANS WOMAN INTO THINKING HE DID!!! The fact he tried to use a head injury to justify years of the outright ghoulish shit fucking astounds me. Why the fuck did anyone in his life thought it was a good idea to let him TRY to come back. in the end, he had options. he didn’t need to try to make a comeback. HE DIDNT NEED TO FUCKING LIE OR IGNORE THE SHIT HE WAS CALLED OUT ON the reality is, he wanted to come back thinking he could shove it under the rug, was told that no dude, you’re not allowed to be a youtuber anymore. you’re done. you need to move on and went full nuclear. it’s not on anyone’s hands but his own. HES BEEN DOING THIS TO HIMSELF!! But nah man we cant call his shit out bc hell may or may not kill himself. Fuck the other minorities who have the same issues but worse and sometimes BECAUSE of him. This is going to SUCKKKK so bad when other ppl, specifically white gays, are going to weaponize this shit to get away with their stuff.
#warning: do not read this post if you want me to be nice to james somerton. i am extremely mean in this post.#before anyone accuses me of shit i legit never contacted him myself or anyone involved. i am someone who witnessed this behavior repeatedly#again. i hope hes alive and well. the fact is him lying about this WOULD BE THE IDEAL SITUATION. BC NO ONE SHOULD GO THROUGH THAT. but.#he HAS to forever be the victim in his eyes. attempting doesnt automatically mean youre free of sin.#its just terrible to see that regardless whether or not he did do it#its very clear his attempts to run away from his consequences are working on some people#we need to acknowledge that if your shitty ex friend can weaponize a threat to kill themselves#so can this internet person after being called out for horrendous shit#like what was the alterative? what were people supposed to fucking do? be nice about it?#yeah as if poc and trans women arent historically given shit for being 'too mean' about wanting justice.#this isnt just the plagiarism this is the fact a white dude has been parading himself as THE speaker for the gays(tm) but has been using hi#gayness to shield himself from his misogyny racism transphobia and antisemitism#its very clear regardless this means that ppl r going to side with him and then give him benefit of doubt#if you cant handle the heat stay out of the fucking kitchen dude. this is the consequences of your fucking actions.#hes a disgusting person who cant handle being told no so hes going to drag everyone down with him#like. idk this entire situation is frustrating to me.#its also frustrating ppl trying to be moral abt it like 'see! i knew this was bad all along!' no you didnt. shut it.#for the record im like mainly talking abt twit watching those spineless uwu cutesy ppl basically saying hes done noting wrong#oh and also alt righters who are clearly weaponinizing this where u know they wouldnt give a shit if a right ytber did this.#james somerton#idk might delete this later its just. ugh...

"headcanoning mizu as transmasc is racist because mizu is half japanese" is SO disingenuous
you guys know there are transmasc japanese people right? there are transmasc people who are mixed race? is them existing also racist? should transmascs only be allowed to see similarities to their gender in white people?

Some bigender history
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SPEAKING OF GENDER by Francis I would like to explore the concept of being "bi-gendered" as an FTM. My own definition of bi-gendered is someone who is comfortable with feeling both "male" and ''female," either coincidentally or at separate times. This is not necessarily the same as feeling "masculine" or "feminine," since there are masculine women who identify only as women, and feminine men who identify only as men. This definition excludes sexual orientation, as a separate though related issue. As we have taught the gender workers, there are many orientations, and they may change, so there are no set combinations. I know bi-gendered FTMs who feel more comfortable living as men than as women, and take hormones, or also have upper surgery, but still acknowledge and enjoy occasionally feeling like a woman. There are a few I've read about (and would like to meet!) who live part-time as each gender, holding part-time jobs as each. There are others like myself who occasionally crossdress fully as a man and feel like one, while living and feeling the rest of the time as a woman. Personally, I have never felt like a "masculine woman," but there has always been a "male" side of me. Sometimes I feel like a mixture of both genders, but when my feelings are more separate (and they often are) there is a definite difference in my basic energy vibration. Most of the time, my clothes and personal gender perception are in harmony, but I have occasionally found myself feeling like a "drag queen'' walking down the street in a dress, or feeling decidedly female after doing a complete cross (tm) dress transformation with mustache. This is usually more obvious to myself than to others, as I become more aware of how I project and how I feel inside. If you have read Carlos Castaneda's or Lynn Andrews' books, one could draw the conclusion that the concept of gender is personally constructed, and can be consciously changed if one has the ability and interest to do so. The Native Americans call this "shape shifting," and the Tibetans have a similar concept. Both cultures also entertain the possibility of changing to non-human (animal, bird) forms as well, and stories abound of shape shifters being perceived by others in those forms. This practice is based on thought and energy projections, but they can affect what others feel and see. This is an interesting concept, and may explain why some transsexuals who aren't yet cross-living cause confusion in others: they are projecting male vibrations while in female form. I think that being bi-gendered is a viable choice, perhaps a rough equivalent of the male-to-female "she-males," or "complete" crossdressers who switch into this other side of themselves, either for short times or to cross-live. To paraphrase what one FTM said in a meeting, we are the shamans in this age, building a bridge between the genders, and making our own new boxes and categories. Gender is surely the newest societal frontier, and we are the pioneers.

For TST
I just finished listening to Elliot Page's book and I have to say it was an interesting piece of literature. I highly highly recommend it.
I have never read a book that is so closely aligned with myself as a trans man and my upbringing. I never thought I would read book that defines what it means to be a trans man in the public eye. I do not want to be as famous as him but I would like to make a change to the world as he has.
I am comfortable in who I am and who I love and how I choose to express my gender. Things really can and often do get better with time. And I hope that any person that sees this knows that they are not trapped in the shoes that society has put them in and they can actively choose a different pair.
I would love to read Pageboy soon; these memoirs and other art and literature are our history, part of our lifeblood as a community, and it's vital that we read each other's lives and understand that we truly are here in this world💛
It's great to read such a glowing review from you, and I'm so happy that his words lit your soul like it has

"Trans men/transmascs aren't hated for being men/masculine we're/they're only hated for being trans"
Tell that to literally any trans man, or even transmasc individual, who has lost numerous friends during their transition because they became "too much of a man/too masculine".
Tell that to any trans man or transmasc who has been asked and berrated with questions and comments such as "why would you EVER want/choose to be a man" "how could you do this to us?" "Well as long as you don't act like/become too much of a man." "You're not going on T, though, are you?" and plenty more
Tell that to any trans man or transmasc who has been pushed out of entire support groups and communities, even if they have been there for YEARS, because they're no longer a woman
Tell that to any trans man or transmasc who have been labeled as a traitor to women and woman/sisterhood for being a man/masculine
Tell that to the trans men and transmascs who have been deemed dangerous and thus shunned, threatened, or even assaulted all because they're men now "and they should expect and accept it"
To the trans men and transmascs who have been assaulted in ways to try and "fix us" and turn us "back into women/lesbians"
Tell that to the trans men and transmascs who are labeled as the killers of parents sweet precious cis daughters or stealer of irreplaceable invaluavle lesbians or a poor unfortunate victim of being groomed by the Big Scary Trans Genders
Tell that to the trans men and transmascs who have been denied crucial, sometimes life-saving and/or life-altering health and medical care all because their gender marker has been changed to an M.
Tell that to the trans men who get told we're the ones responsible misogyny being systematic - that we just want to have it "easier" and surely can no longer be feminists because we "chose being an evil, oppressive (trans) man over being a soft, holy (cis) woman"
Tell them that all of the losses of their social connections and supports, the grimaces and sneers people have as their transition goes "too far". Tell that to the trans men and transmascs who have been deemed as predatory, potentially dangerous, in need of "saving", and so much more. Tell it to the trans men and transmascs who go through constant silencing, scrutiny, erasure and gatekeeping. Tell them that all of the pain, grief, loneliness, isolation, harassment, abuse and MORE that they have experienced ISN'T because they're a man or masculine, but because they're "just" trans. Even when, during all of these horrific moments in their life, the people inflicting this violence against them held nothing but contempt for them choosing to be a man. For trying to parade around as a man, when clearly they're just some poor delusional cis woman.
Tell them, because clearly you know everything and exactly how all of this works and how everyone's lived experiences have gone. Because you apparently know everything more than anyone else.

okay i can't believe i'm writing this but, as a trans guy, all of you being very enthusiastic about con o'neill & rhys darby's tits has somehow let me feel comfortable enough with my own chest that i feel like i can actually take my top off & have it be somewhat gender euphoric at times. so thanks i guess 👍🏳️‍⚧

FYI, emperor Elagabalus was a sadist. He made women by stripping them naked and then use them to pull his chariot, set loose poisonous snakes the audience attended the colosseum, and brutally and mercilessly tortured his female servants by whipping them, stuck them with pins and sharp objects he could find, and then poured boiling melted wax on them till they died.
I’m gonna need sources on that because I have done some research on her, and no credible source I’ve seen has any reference to this.
The issue with her contemporary Roman chroniclers is many of them were active in the political scene at the time and because Elagabalus was an extremely ineffective and incompetent emperor, they have a lot of reason to slander her, and there wasn’t exactly a peer-review system at the time. The trick with her is to find where the stories match up. If they don’t, it’s probably a lie.
Who she was is hard to pin down as a result. Historians disagree on how many times she was married, so minutiae like how she treated her servants is probably lost to time, because these weren’t the people the Roman elite cared about unless they were being weaponized against Elagabalus. The only people I’ve seen claiming this are TikTok “historians” who also say that she was worse than Caligula.
TLDR: the Roman elite were in the practice of slandering Elagabalus both during and after her lifetime, which means that everything we know about her is ancient gossip. Was she an extremely fucked up person who sucked ass at her job? Probably, but we don’t know for sure and get in the habit of checking your sources before you come on my blog lecturing me. Seriously, everything you just said sounds like it’s from Game of Thrones.

Aro culture is not feeling comfortable with assigning queer labels to dead people because a) there's only so much you can know about someone without knowing them personally b) it's entirely their business how they categorize relationships and c) more often than not it stems from amatonormative reasons "they couldn't just be friends!! because they did THIS!!!"
I'm not the only one uncomfortable with this, right?

not to be like. Annoying about it. but what really gets me abt beatles fans of like. really Any demographic who complain that it's disrespectful to assume john & paul were anything but straight boy besties bc "men can show affection for their friends" or whatever is just like.... once again it always comes back to: if this were a man and a woman, would anyone be out here crying about their friendship or would it just be an uncontested fact about rock history? like. when you look at everything they've ever said about each other, what their friends and partners have said, the songs they've written about each other, etc it's like. pretty blatant. the only reason it's Not a "fact" is because it's two men. like whether you want to think they had a physical relationship or not (which is smth we can never know bc that's no one's business) it's just so weird to insist it's disrespectful to point this stuff out. like. again. do you guys say any of this stuff when people talk about straight relationships in history? or is this hesitance and distaste Solely reserved for gay people?
(none of this means anything to my followers who don't care abt the beatles scroll on ur fine I'm talking abt ppl deep into this but w a side of homophobia they can't shake)
