(a bit of a rambing stream-of-thinking type of post)

but g-d the whole hog hunt thing was such a .... poisoned / potentiation type moment.

like one of the things i really admire about the dream smp is that it’s tightly enough put together that if you watch enough of it you can actually see where people are coming from.  like you can see them getting “radicalized” , or alternatively getting where they need to be (sort of the same thing phrased as good or bad) (this depends on your point of view on things)

and so as i’m watching and rewatching the stuff AFTER, see, the stuff after is just as important and interesting just in a more subtle way.  likethere’s all these little details that stand out and you can just.... see The Syndicate crystallizing into being, months to years before it actually comes into being on paper. (probably because i main the syndicate lol)

and the same with the other factions. quackity and tubbo and L. N. and snowchester to a certain extent.  and if you like those ppl, i’m sure you can see some of that.

ok so there’s the main poison, the way that Philza and Technoblade (f, rip) are both put in assault, in danger and harsh treatment literal meters from eachother, in earshot and eyeshot, unable to help. (”take me instead, what did you do to him?” “we don’t rat out on eachother” ) that degradation of that bond and to both of them. which literally is so intense it becomes a call back to a sodom and gommorrah moment.

but it spreads, everyone has damn eyes. and multiple people look up at the anvil execution platform and literally say “i might be next”.  Philza, Ranboo, Niki, all on their streams. so there’s the new tone for your country right frigging there (no f word for badboyhalo’s sensibilities lol)

and ranboo, who starts expressing techno’s “repay it tenfold” speech, mostly in front of his and phil’s houses interestingly enough.  

and from ranboo: “who do i choose, the many people i can protect or the two people i can’t”  i mean it seems to sum up his present situation but it also says his PAST.  him trying to get Techno brought in more gently, trying to sue to get Philza out of house arrest. The two he couldn’t protect, like just by saying that it’s like it’s making up his mind who’s side he’s on (lol). “you don’t need a country to have a home, you can make a hole in the ground and there’s your hoome”  Philza’s house arrest - what was his home turned into, a place of bondage (not like that lol).  and if you want to get literal, a call back and nod to philza’s great basement building project.

also, the solidification of Niki’s suspicions about New L’manberg’s inability to see the “smaller people” and her “someone needs to be taught a lesson” which echoes the B. Army’s ultimatums towards Philza.

You have ghostbur handing everyone in the butcher army “Blue” against sadness and ranboo’s “there are a lot of sad people here.”  

you have tubbo defending ranboo, through little glimpses of compassion and just blatant solidarit, contrasting to his other character traits as of late “does this remind you of anything quackity?”

You have quackity’s statement of care for people and his commitment to gain power to serve that care. and his rage. and calculation. which will his power serve in the future?
