I like to think this is how everyone immediately believes Lester is Apollo
Apollo? I scoffed. This kid was telling me he was THE Apollo? One of the 12 Olympians? He must have been delusional to believe that. This beat up, average looking teenager who looked like he was ready to run away screaming at a moments notice was Apollo. Yeah right. Even the mere concept was enough to make me laugh....
but.... the more i looked at him... there was something in the kids eyes.... something inhuman... something ancient. Something that had seen great civilizations rise and fall, something that had seen thousands of human lives pass by without a mere glance... something like...My heart dropped like a stone.
Yep. This was Apollo no doubt about it. And now I'm pretty sure we're all doomed

Breathe
Also I’m trying my hand at a permanent taglist… let me know if y’all want to be added!
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Eddie had gone on before him. It wasn’t fair to keep him waiting, but, well… Steve had tried to warn him about smoking.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Steve’s eyes drop closed as he thinks over his life. It was good. Once Vecna was gone, once the hospital scare was over and done with, it was good.
Exhale.
Inhale.
They’d all grown up, separately but together. Robin and Nancy, surprisingly enough, had been the first to leave. Then one by one, the rest of the Part followed in different directions.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Robin and Nancy had moved to San Diego. Dustin and Suzie settled in Maine, of all places. Lucas and Max picked Florida. Will and Mike were closest in Indy. El and Erica—with whatever they had going on—were in Oklahoma, trying to find normalcy.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Steve and Eddie had bought an RV and traveled the country. Visited the kids. They were there for Dustin and Susie’s first kid (and second, and third). They were there when Nancy got her first journalist award. When Mike and Will tied the knot, even if it wasn’t exactly legal yet. When El and Erica needed some familiar faces. When Lucas and Max had gotten hitched. They’d even driven them to the airport, seen them off for their Colorado honeymoon.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Never any kids of their own, Steve reflects. Except in all the ways they did. Everyone had been there for Eddie. Crowded into the hospital room, annoying the fuck out of the hospital staff and uncaring, because that was their Eddie, their brother, their uncle, their grandpop.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Steve had seen memories flash through Eddie’s eyes, like they’re doing in Steve’s mind right now. Their first kiss, sun-drenched and summer-sweet, tentative and so, so hopeful.
Exhale.
Inhale.
When they bought the RV and visited everyone for the first time, rolled up in front of their houses and laid on the horn until someone had gotten annoyed enough to peep out the windows, only to run outside when they realized who it was.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Will and Mike first, since they were closest. Eddie and Steve had taken them out to a gay bar—a nicer one than they’d ever been to at the boys’ age—and had fun for a night. They’d stayed for a few days before making the trek up to Maine to see Dustin and Suzie. Skiing and dinner and loud laughs long into the night.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Then they’d gone to see Max and Lucas in Florida, getting horribly burned the first day and regretting it for the next few days. Max and Lucas had both made fun of them. Then a rather uncomfortable drive to Oklahoma to see the girls. El, who had been learning to cook, made them all dinner. They were introduced to May and Alex, two kids who had needed help. Eddie had put his arm around Steve’s shoulders like he knew Steve had been holding back tears.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Then off to San Diego to see Robin and Nancy. Robin had yelled and barreled out the door. Steve had done much the same thing after parking the RV, and the hug lasted long enough that Nancy had helped Eddie bring their things inside and were well on their way through the first of many iced teas. They’d stayed there the longest, even toyed with the idea of making home base somewhere near.
Exhale.
Inhale.
But Steve knew Eddie, knew he’d want to be near Wayne, at least while he could be. So they returned, set up camp in a town about the same size as Hawkins, about an hour away. Settled in. Hired someone to cut the grass. Bought groceries. On their third day there, kids had come around, intrigued by the new RV, drawn close by the sound of Eddie’s guitar. Kept close by Steve’s snacks.
Exhale.
Inhale.
They’d pseudo-adopted a few kids from that town. The kids had decent parents, who would come over from time to time and joke about Steve and Eddie stealing their kids. The nights would end in beer and laughter and more guitar, softer than the metal Steve had fallen in love with, but no less beautiful.
Exhale.
Inhale.
They grew up together. They grew old together. What goes around comes around, because a few short years ago Eddie had been in this very same hospital, right back in Hawkins. The familiarity of it all had given Steve double vision at times. He’d been there when Eddie passed. Felt him squeeze Steve’s hand for the last time.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Steve hadn’t cried until he’d gotten back to the RV. After all the condolences, the paperwork, the well-meaning bouquets and cards. The family they’d made, who were just as heartbroken as he was.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Steve had driven off, secluded himself for a few months, as he learned how to breathe without Eddie around. He didn’t make any more trips, but he did return to the town they’d made their own. He saw their youngest kids, their parents. More condolences. More faked smiles.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Now, he gives the ceiling a genuine smile. He’d kept Eddie waiting for too long. He takes his last breath and steps into the rest of forever, Eddie by his side.

Dash is nowhere.
Well, that's not quite true. He's in his office, sitting in his chair. How long has he been there? He doesn't remember when he entered or if he's left since then. Has he even left his chair?
Regardless, Dash was in his office. Physically. Mentally, his mind had wandered. Far from his body, far from consciousness, falling past the bounds of reality and plunging into the black viscous void below.
It was dark, but not cold. The void was warm. Humid. All encompassing, effortlessly keeping it's grasp on him, as he lay complacent.
There were times he would resurface, when the cold rush of reality would force him to consciousness, when streaks of yellow would blind his vision and stain his hands, when her ghost lurked just around the corner and her whispers would follow him everywhere.
More often than not, however, his head would bob just above the surface, where shadows rose from the blackness, almost solid, almost tangible, and Dash believed. He believed himself when his mind carved familiar faces out of their ever-changing forms, when he gave them voices, threatening to drag him through the voids depths, past even that, to something even less than nothingness.
So, there he sat. Being tossed between light and dark, gun locked in his hands in spite of it all.
Something had to give.

“Wanna See A Cool Trick?” Heloise’s R School Uniform Story
Tumblr media
“This isn’t my first time here, just keep the tomfoolery to a minimum and we’ll get along just fine!”
Upon Heloise’s return to NRC, she’s feeling a little aprehensive and confides in an unexpected new friend. Because this fic is 90% Heloise voiceing her thoughts, fic is written traditionally rather than in a visial novel format.
This could also be considered a side story to Shining Hearts since this takes place in Book 5 and Heloise will make an appearance in chapter 15.
A huge thank you to @twstinginthewind for allowing to use her oc Nana for this fic. I’m always nervous working with ocs that aren’t my own, but I hope I was able to do Nana justice! 💚

Tumblr media
The hour was still early and most of the dorm was still fast asleep. With that in mind, Heloise crept quietly downstairs, deliberately making her footsteps as close to silent as she could. Despite the silence, there was a certain level of excitement in the air. It was the first morning of the National Arcane Academy Cultural Festival with Royal Sword Academy. A lot would be happening over the next two days but the highlight of the festival would be that very afternoon, the Vocal and Dance Championship between both schools. And for the students of Diasomnia, the VDC held extra special importance.
Among the girls performing was Vidaria Cherith, betrothed of Malleus Draconia and the jewel of their dorm. Nearly everyone in Diasomnia was excited about their princess gracing the stage, surely her blend of beautiful vocal talent and playful fae charm would secure victory for their school. That alone would be the highlight of the festival for Heloise. A lot had occurred since her removal from NRC the previous year and she had not seen much of Vidaria since then, but she was greatly looking forward to seeing her on stage. She couldn’t think of a better gift to celebrate her return to school.
How anyone could still be asleep was a mystery to her. But Heloise remained quiet as she walked around the hallways and entered the lounge. At first glance, all seemed as it should be and it didn’t appear that much had changed since she had been there last. Heloise had just returned to NRC the previous night and so far, none were aware of her presence besides Lilia. With Vidaria occupied with VDC training camp at Ramshackle dorm, she wasn’t yet aware of Heloise’s return either. Exactly what Heloise wanted.
There was a soft stir in the otherwise quiet lounge that Heloise noticed right away. She followed the sound, still making a point to remain quiet in case the source was something nefarious. Years in service to the Draconia court had left her senses in a near constant state of being on high alert and she had already experienced enough in life to know that danger could lurk even in the safest of havens.
“Who’s there?”
But Heloise soon realized that no danger was present, the softest sound followed her call, the sound of a meow. And with that, Heloise noticed the shadow of a flitting black tail in the corner of the room. A smile bloomed on her face. She couldn't recall Diasomnia having any feline residents but her fondness for cats was enough to temporarily drop her guard as she knelt down and called out to the creature.
“Hello, little kitty,” she coaxed. “Come here, little kitty.”
Nana was certain that she knew all the students in Diasomnia, though this young woman was a new face to her. Curiously glancing up at her, something in her face felt strangely familiar, but she couldn’t quite put her paw on what that was. But she appeared friendly, reaching out her hand with an inviting smile. She took a few timid steps forward, allowing Heloise to fully see her midnight black coloring and bright green eyes.
Aww a black kitty, the luckiest kind!
“Do you live here, little kitty?” Asked Heloise, to which Nana gave a soft little mew. “Lilia always was a cat person, as am I. My name is Heloise.”
Heloise. That has a pretty ring to it. Nana approached Heloise, gently rubbing her head against her extended hand and softly purring. There was the faintest smell of chocolate and cherries that Nana found quite pleasant. She nuzzled up closer to her, if only to enjoy the sweet scent further, and Heloise sat fully down on the floor next to her.
“You seem to like me,” Heloise smiled, gently scratching behind Nana’s ear. “This is my first day back at NRC and I’ve been a little apprehensive about…” Nana gave her a mew which, if Heloise didn’t know better, sounded almost like a question. She figured that this cat must have arrived at Diasomnia sometime after her departure. She gave her another scratch.
“I’m a sophomore student, but you probably have never met me because, up until recently, I wasn’t here at school. I was…” A sudden chill rushed through Heloise and without realizing it, she squeezed Nana’s ear, causing her to make a loud sound that was more out of surprise than pain. She gasped when she realized what she had done, apologizing profusely. “Ohhhhh, forgive me, little kitty! I didn’t mean to hurt you! I…” But Nana’s sudden purring told her that she was easily forgiven, but Heloise kept her hands to herself for a few moments to be sure.
“I’m sorry, I was thinking too deeply, I just…well…can I ask you a question?” Nana curiously looked up at her, blinking as her way of saying yes. “Do you know another fae girl in this dorm named Vidaria?”
Nana’s purring quickly became louder. Yes, of course she knew her, everyone in the dorm knew her. Vidaria Cherith, the beloved future queen of Briar Valley, a kind and noble spirit with magic that almost matched that of their dorm leaders. Someone Nana held a great amount of love and admiration for. Of course she knew her.
“When I was a little girl, my parents brought me to the Draconia court to be Vidaria’s companion,” Heloise went on. “When she was first brought to Briar Valley, she was very sad and lonely but Lilia thought we’d get along well because we’re the same kind of fae. We kind of started off on the wrong foot, but in time,” a smile came to her face and she gave Nana a gentle pet. “Vidaria became my most trusted friend and I became her’s.”
So you helped the princess by being her friend! That’s so sweet! From the beginning, Nana felt that she could trust this newcomer. But hearing this story fully opened her heart to Heloise. She allowed herself to step into her lap and give her an affectionate headbut. Heloise giggled, giving Nana a few more headscratches.
“She really is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known, don’t you think so, little kitty?” Nana answered her with a mew. “And her kindness is all the more remarkable, considering all she has gone through. That’s why…” Heloise sighed. “That’s why I hope we can soon be friends again.”
What do you mean? Are you and Vidaria not friends anymore? And why am I just meeting you if you’re a second year student? Nana had many questions but something told her that she would receive them soon. So she made herself comfortable in Heloise’s lap and allowed her to continue stroking her soft black fur.
“Well, maybe that’s not the right thing to say. We definitely still are friends, but I haven't seen her in nearly a year. You see, little kitty, something happened here when we were still freshmen. It’s kind of complicated, but let’s just say Vidaria was in danger and I had to help her. I was able to help her but as a result…as a result…”
You’re laughing? I have a dagger to your throat and you’re laughing?!
I’m not afraid of you…do your worst because for her, I would willingly walk through the flames of hell…
“As a result, I became...very ill. So ill, I had to return to Briar Valley. We didn’t speak for months but poor Vidaira, she felt so bad because of what happened to me, that I got sick because of her,” another sigh escaped Heloise. “But what she doesn’t know is that even if what happened was terrible, I didn’t mind because I was able to keep her safe. That’s why I’m training so hard, not just to be her protector, but also because I care about her.”
Wow, you must be very brave, Heloise. Vidaria is one lucky lady to have a friend like you!
“Since we haven’t spoken much, Vidaira has made other friends. I think she’s become pretty close to a princess in the Scarabia dorm.”
That’s true. But Iman isn’t as nice as Vidaria and she’s always shrieking when she sees me in my cat form.
“But I’m hoping that soon, Vidaria and I can pick up where we last left off. I want her to know how much I look up to her. I don’t resent her for what happened to me, it wasn’t her fault. She’s in such a remarkable situation but I want to be by her side as best as I can.” Heloise noticed how Nana was now focusing intensely on her, looking up at her with round peridot eyes and not blinking even once. She smiled. “I was never the best at animal linguistics, but I appreciate that you’re allowing me to confide in you, little kitty.”
Don’t worry, Heloise, I know Vidaria will be so happy to see you again!
A shift of activity suddenly called their attention, someone was coming down the stairs. Cautious once again, Nana leapt out of the warmth of Heloise’s lap and back into her corner, though her eyes were still on her. Heloise stood up, looking around before a fun idea came to her, she crouched down and gave Nana a little wink.
“I think someone’s coming, guess we’re no longer the only ones awake,” she said as she removed her blazer, hanging it over a nearby chair and rearranging her striped necktie. “But before I go, wanna see a cool trick, little kitty?”
A trick? What kind of…WAIT?!
Nana was curious as to what Heloise was up to but was more than a little taken aback when Heloise tied her necktie in a bow and pulled her hair to the side of her head, tying it with a hair ring from her pocket. From the moment she set her eyes upon her, there was something about Heloise that struck Nana as being very familiar. Now she fully understood.
Is this some kind of magic? No, I don’t sense any. But she…Heloise look’s just like…
Sebek entered the lounge and Nana took a few cautious steps back. She wasn’t too fond of his constant booming voice and he was sure to tell Lilia if he saw her wandering around in her cat form. But even as she made herself hidden, she continued watching Heloise, more than a little curious about how Sebek would react to her.
“Oh! Your Highness!” Sebek started at the sight of who he thought was the betrothed of his young master. “I didn’t think…ahem! I mean, good morning, Your Highness! Today is a glorious day, is it not?”
“It’s still quite early, but I do believe it shall be,” Heloise replied. Her voice left Nana in awe, even the way she spoke now resembled Vidaria. “I must prepare for rehearsals soon, but I wanted to…”
“Yes of course!” Sebek grinned. “We of Diasomnia are so thrilled and greatly looking forward to seeing you at the VDC, Your Highness! Your victory will bring only honor not only to our dorm but to our great and powerful young master! I’m certain Malleus-sama is also looking forward to seeing you on stage!”
Sir, it is barely past sunrise. Could you turn down your enthusiasm?
“You’re too kind,” Heloise smiled in spite of her secret thoughts. “By the by, have you seen Lilia-san? I was looking for him earlier.”
“No need to look further, Briar Bloom, here I am!”
Lilia appeared, as he often did when entering a room, hanging upside down in midair. Sebek loudly greeted him as Nana continued watching their exchange from her corner in the room. She couldn’t help but be curious as to how Lilia would respond to Heloise’s transformation and while she was about to leave, her curiosity was stronger than her desire not to get caught in her cat form.
Lilia is walking over to her, he probably can see through the disguise!
“Oh ho?” Lilia grinned, leaning into Heloise’s face and pretending to sound confused. “What’s this?” You aren’t our Briar Bloom, who are you?”
“WHAT?!” Sebek jumped. “This isn’t Princess Vidaria?! But she looks so much like…wait!” His mood quickly shifted and he glared at Heloise, who now had a mischievous smile on her face. “YOU! How dare you impersonate the princess! Who the hell are you?!” He took out his magipen. “A spy for the Land of Mists no doubt! Lilia, clearly they’ve kidnapped Vidaria and placed this imposter in her place! We’ll teach her what happens when someone dares to threaten…”
Sebek charged at Heloise but she quickly subdued him with a swift one-leg takedown, flipping him over and kicking his magipen out of his hand. Lilia broke out in laughter, picking up Sebek’s pen.
“I see you haven’t neglected your training, Nightshade,” he said. “Sebek is also training to serve the Draconias but I do believe he could learn a thing or two from you.”
“Lilia! What are you saying?!” Sebek shouted, jumping up to his feet. “This imposter, you’re saying that you know her?!”
“Pleased to meet you, Sebek,” Heloise giggled. “Perhaps not the best way to initiate a first meeting but I digress. My name is Heloise and I’m one of Vidaria’s handmaids.”
“And if you’re wondering, Sebek, yes we are aware of her resemblance to Vidaria,” Lilia added. “You see, before you came to NRC, Heloise often acted as Vidaria’s double to prevent kidnap attempts. In a sense, you, Silver, Nana and she are all in the same boat, so to speak, training to serve Malleus and Vidaria.”
“What?! Really?!” Sebek’s mood shifted once again and he grabbed Heloise’s hand, shaking it wildly. “To put yourself at risk for the sake of our future queen, such bravery! I can only hope to have the opportunity to similarly lay my life on the line for Malleus-sama!”
“Uhhh, I’m not sure you should be hoping for such a thing,” Heloise shook her head, but she was still laughing. “But I appreciate the sentiment. I already know Silver so I’m guessing you’re a freshman, Sebek?”
“I am! And I cannot put into words what an honor it is to be in Diasomnia, at the side of our great and powerful young master and his betrothed!”
“I can tell you are very enthusiastic about the Draconia’s,” replied Heloise. “I too hope to protect them to the best of my ability. With that in mind, I hope we can soon be friends. After you get over me throwing you that is!”
She’s so cool! And she’s pretty strong if she can take Sebek down like that!
If Nana didn’t already like Heloise before, she adored her now. Here before her now was an example of what she aspired to be, and if her words to her were any indication of her character, Nana might very well have found a new friend. She decided at that moment that she had spent enough time as a cat for one morning and quickly ran off to the opposite end of the lounge, appearing before Heloise, Lilia and Sebek a few moments later.
“But Lilia, you mentioned another training to serve the Draconias,” Heloise went on. “Someone named Nana? Where is she?”
“Good morning, guys!” Nana smiled. “You’re all up pretty early!”
“I could not sleep a moment longer!” Sebek admitted. “So excited I was about seeing Princess Vidaria on stage today! And the fact that Malleus-sama was invited to the VDC as well, ohhh, my heart has been pumping since last night!”
“We’re all excited for today, it seems,” Lilia smiled as well. “Heloise, here is your answer. This is Nana Katzen, she’s also a freshman.”
“Pleased to meet you, Heloise-san!” she extended her hand to Heloise. “I hope we can be friends too!”
Nana was a little shorter than her, but had a sweet smile that Heloise couldn’t help but find endearing. But there was something else about Nana that she couldn’t help but notice: a long black tail flittered behind her. And her midnight black hair was accompanied by a set of black cats ears, a pair of ears that were very familiar to ones Heloise had previously been scratching.
Heloise smiled and took Nana’s hand, shaking it.
“Pleased to meet you, Nana. I’m certain you and I will get along quite nicely.”

Chapter 3: Forgotten connection.
Akagami no Shirayukihime fic.
Obi x Oc Ayla
Warning: slight blood.
Once the door was closed Shirayuki grabbed Ayla's hand and dragged her to the bed. They both sat down looking like excited school girls at a sleepover.
“Now that we're alone. Spill,” Shirayuki commanded.
"I will I will, but first I got a present for you…” Ayla stuck her hand in her pocket and pulled out the bracelet.
“Oh, how pretty! Thank you,” Said Shirayuki as she put it on her wrist. It was a little big, not big enough to fall off, just to move up and down her wrist freely when she moved. Ayla smiled, twirling the end of her braid in embarrassment. Finally she decided that it was about time to tell Shirayuki about when she met Obi.
“Shirayuki, you wanted to hear about when I met Obi, didn't you?” She prompted the conversation back to that topic.
Shirayuki nodded and got comfortable.
“So four years ago, remember how I told that on the way back from a job I found someone hurt,” She paused and Shirayuki nodded. “Well that was him.”
~~~
Four years ago.
Ayla just finished a delivery job and was walking through a forest. She was headed to a little cottage that she found shortly after she started staying with Shirayuki, It was in a sorry state when she found it and she had spent months restoring it. Thinking back to how it looked the last time she stopped by, it has improved a lot; the windows that were broken are now replaced and the roof doesn't leak anymore. I still have some things that need fixing like-
Ugh.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the faint sound of a groan. She froze, listening intently for another sound. The birds whistling, the wind in the trees, where? Where did it come from?
Uhh.
There!
She ran towards a clump of trees. As she got closer the figure of a man came into view, he was sitting crumpled against a tree, his clothes stained with blood coming from a gash in his chest. He was barely conscious but when she approached the glare he gave her made her stop in her tracks. She put her hands up in a friendly manner.
“I won’t hurt you,” She said, approaching him slowly. He lashed out weakly and there was a flash of metal just before she caught his wrist.
“Woah! Careful.” She said as she grabbed the knife that was clutched in his hand. Too weak to resist he gave up the knife before slumping to the ground unconscious.
Obi could hear sounds drifting in and out of his consciousness and something cool was placed on his forehead. His first instinct was to lash out, to protect himself, but he couldn't move. He tried to open his eyes but his eyelids were like lead.
“Shhh, shh…. It's alright it's alright,” said a soothing voice before everything got far away and he slipped back into unconsciousness.
He's asleep again. That's good. She thought changing the cool cloth on his forehead. It's been two days since she found him and his fever hasn't gone down at all. She pulled back the cover to check the bandages wrapped around his chest. Shirayuki had taught her basic first aid and it's a good thing too because if she hadn't found him, he would have been in worse shape than he was now, possibly dead. She pulled the blanket back up and sat back in her chair in thought. Even delirious he was guarded, the first day whenever he was awake she asked him question after question but all she learned was that his name is Obi and he got injured doing some sort of job. She rubbed her temples, she hadn't slept for the past three days and was starting to get a headache.
“Only for a few minutes.” she muttered, closing her eyes and drifting to sleep.
It's so hot… My throat is so dry..
Obi opened his eyes, his vision was blurred and shifting like the room was alive around him. He tried to focus and the room stopped shifting. Good. That's when he noticed the person sitting next to him. On instinct his hand flew to his waist where he kept one of his daggers but all he felt was cloth. He could feel himself panicking but he fought the panic back and tried to focus again. The person hadn't moved an inch the whole time. Are they asleep? He tried to get up but his body wouldn't work right and he ended up falling to the floor with a soft thud. With that movement the room around him swirled again and faded to pinpoints in his vision. He grabbed the bed frame, hoisting himself up he staggered forward, he saw a counter in front of him and when he reached it he leaned against it trying to get his breath again.
“..ait you shouldn't…Obi,” He heard someone's voice behind him through the ringing in his ears. There was a knife next to his hand, grabbing it he slash out behind him blindly. He felt it connect and then heard a scream before the knife was knocked out of his hands. His legs gave out and he felt someone catch him, wrapping their arms under his arms to keep him steady. He was pulled to the bed and set down gently. The woman made a pained sound, red blood was dripping down her right arm and he saw the long gash where his knife had caught her. He reached out and gently brushed the arm he had cut. I shouldn't have done that.
“It's okay. It's not bad,” She said almost as if she had read his mind. She pulled a roll of bandages from a bag by the head of the bed and started to wrap her arm up. His eyelids felt heavy so he closed them, listening instead. He listened to her slightly uneven breathing, after a minute or so it evened out. He felt a feather light touch on his forehead.
“You're not well enough to get up yet,” Something cool was placed on his forehead. “I understand the instinct to leave and protect yourself, but know that if I had wanted to hurt you, I already would have,” another cool patch was laid on his wrist, another one on the other wrist a second later.
“Go to sleep, you need rest,” She said gently, then started singing, "Laa la la~ na na~ na na~ laa laa~da na na na~laaa la laa~"
He fell asleep.
When she noticed him fall asleep she let her voice drift off. Her arm ached, red stained the bandage that she messily wrapped around it. Should take care of that later. She thought absently while she pulled back the blanket to check his bandages.
“Well, you didn't open it back up.” She said more to herself than to Obi. She looked at the knife on the kitchen floor, her lips turned down into a frown. I've got to be more careful. She thought as she picked up the knife and tossed it into the sink.
She got him to eat some soup, one spoonful at a time till the bowl was half empty and he fell into a deep sleep. It's been five days now. His fever seems to be going down which she had noticed with relief. She glanced at her near empty cabinets, this cabin is her hideout; a pit stop to wherever she was headed, she only stored up enough food to last a week or so for one and she was feeding two.
“I need to get more supplies….” She mumbled to herself. But, she looked back to Obi sleeping, but that would mean she would have to leave him alone. He wasn't in any danger from the fever anymore and she knew he would be safe here if she left him for a few hours. So with that thought she grabbed some money from her stash hidden in a can in her cabinet. On the way out the door she grabbed a tall basket with two straps attached to carry it on her back, with one last glance back she closed the door.
Obi woke up with a start. Sitting up quickly made his head spin, but it wasn't as bad as before and it stopped within a minute. He searched the room for the woman; the kitchen, out the windows, she was nowhere in sight. Where did she go? He wondered. Looking around at his surroundings he noticed his jacket, shirt, and knives were piled neatly on a chest at the foot of the bed. There was a cup of water with a note propped up against it on the nightstand. Written on the note in looping handwriting was ‘Went to town to get supplies. I'll be back soon’. So now he knew where she went. He touched the glass of water, it was still cool so she had only been gone for a short while. He drank quickly and put on his clothes which he noticed were cleaned and mended. She's a good person. He hesitated to just leave after she had been so kind to him. He went to the small desk, put the note in his jacket pocket, and opening the drawer he found a pen and some paper.
~~~
Present time.
"When I got back he was gone and there was a note on the nightstand that said 'Thank you'," Ayla told the last bit of her story.
"So that's how you two meet, and Obi doesn't remember because of the fever,"
"Yeah,"
"Can I ask you something Ayla? Did you fall in love with Obi when you were taking care of him?" Shirayuki asked carefully.
"What made you think that?" Ayla's eyes widened in surprise.
"I remember back then you had acted sad for a while,"
Ayla tilted her head thoughtfully with a sad look in her eyes, "You know how I feel about love, Shirayuki. I think it was more of a kinship, he reminded me a lot of myself back before I met you," She gave Shirayuki a grateful smile.
"I see…,"
"So, now that I've shared my story, it's time you tell me yours."
"Hmmm, where should I begin…" She told her about everything that happened were prince Raji tried to make her his concubine.
"That Raji! I swear he never learns. I hope you put him in his place,"
"I had trouble with him at first but now he's trying to change. We're friends now,"
"Hahaha, leave it up to you! You always amaze me. If he's really changed maybe I'll go pay him a visit sometime, it's been a long time."
"Maybe if you go I'll go with you."
Shirayuki continued her story and they talked late into the night before falling asleep together.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: 僕のヒーローアカデミア | Boku no Hero Academia | My Hero Academia (Anime & Manga) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Jirou Kyouka/Yaoyorozu Momo Characters: Yaoyorozu Momo, Jirou Kyouka Additional Tags: Developing Relationship, Friends to Lovers, Yearning, Longing, they're sapphics what did you expect, Autistic Yaoyorozu Momo, Yaoyorozu Momo Needs a Hug, And she gets it, they just fight and stress over it and make up, Yaoyorozu Momo Is Bad At Feelings, Happy Ending Summary:
It had been their first fight since they started being a thing and Momo had stopped going to Kyouka's room at night.
It hadn't been a big fight either. It had all just snowballed into a passive agressive fight that Momo didn't know how to navigate and them avoiding each other for the last four days.
During the day, it was manageable if she forced herself to focus on her work but, at night, it was simply unbereable. No matter how many plushies she had, or weighted blankets, or pillows. Nothing compared to sleeping with Kyouka.
In just some weeks of sleeping together, Kyouka had effectively ruined her forever.

hey, it's me again! I'm sorry if this is a strange thing to ask but would it be alright if I could have a bit of kin validation and stuff? I've been feeling a bit disconnected from myself recently and it really gets me down :( -Noodle
i might not be the best at this, but i’ll try my hand at it!
noodle, i know it’s real hard to feel disconnected. it’s hard to feel like yourself when your life’s so different than how it used to be. i get that feeling too. but i know inside your heart, you’re still the same soul.
you’re the same kid who showed up in that fed-ex crate who we got to watch grow up. who i am so proud of and so glad to get the chance to know again.
i can tell even just by the way you talk to me. i see your messages, and i think “yep, that’s noodle right there.” it’s subtle, but it comes through.
even if you look different, sound different, even feel different, you’re always gonna be our very own beloved noodle, world’s best guitarist. i’m proud to call you my bandmate and my sister.
