PAC 🍸:
I spent all day looming with 2% brain capacity. Literally just unwell gloomy tired. I was sitting feeling everything spiral away from me as I do my shitty ass chores and contemplating my current predicament. Anyways turns out my mid day spiral was because I was HANGRY. But anyways I have been looking into feminine aspects in relation to shadow work here are some ways divine femininity manifests within us.
Pick a meme
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pick up a card
Tumblr media
King of cups (reversed) 🦟
Prince of the Chariot of waters, air aspect of water, 20° Libra to 20° Scorpio, Tiphareth, Vau
Artistically untrustworthy or so one may say. This card brings a type of intensity that the girlies don’t really like. But thats fine. As they baddies say and as one of the only universal laws I resonate with the most: as above so below. While the divine feminine aspect that may pertain to yourself may seem “undesirable” those aspects are just as deserving of love as the undesirable aspects. Just as there is a place for good there is also a place for evil. If you can even call those things that. Do not classify yourself as good or bad just simply be.
Eight of wands (reversed) 🕷️
Lord of Swiftness, Mercury in Sagittarius, 1°–10°. Angels Nithahiah and Haayah, Hod
You are claiming something in a clear yet sly way. The high mercury representation represents the swift cunning acts of the god and his desire to lie cheat and steal to get what he wants. AGAIN while this may seem as if it is manifesting in a “undesirable” way yet it needs to be embraced as much as the desirable ones. These cards are fr just saying is all y’all know is: McDonalds, Charge they phone, twerk, be bisexual, eat hotchip and lie.
Knight of cups 🦂
21° Aquarius 20° Pisces, Fire in the waters of Briah, Chokmah
The contrast in the balance which brings a type of instability to shift from extreme to extreme. While the warm waters may be exciting and inviting. Like a nice warm healing spring. It can also boil. This card represents how it can manifest in both extremes and be a healing agent and also a extreme force of nature.
Ruin 🪰
Sun 3. Gemini, Malkuth through air, ten of swords
I love this card because EVERY BAD BITCH I KNOW HAS READ THE PASSION ACCORDING TO CIXIOUS. Basically I see this card as genesis and how due to divine femininity human beings we’re actually able to gain divine consciousness. Yes I get the argument you need all sides but genesis itself is a representation of how femininity brought divinity and human consciousness. Also note how most deities of magic are usually depicted as women. This card represents when human intellect takes a final step. Bite that apple sezy lady. While with the nine of cups in the back fighting brings destruction. However with the sun above we are able to see that we can reach a beginning yet again and start that cycle yet again. Embrace that divinity queen save some for the rest of us.

Thoughts about Beyond Evil x PJO? Who would be which deities’ kid ? I’m scrolling through ticket and I am invested now.
Heeeey friend!! Thanks for sending me this. It took me a little while to figure out what PJO meant. I'm assuming it's meant to be for the Percy Jackson universe (sorry if it isn't and this response is completely off-base). Honestly, I haven't read the Percy Jackson books and I've only seen one movie (and didn't rate it). But! I did go through a Geek Mythology phase about ten years ago... buuuut apparently, I didn't retain much information 😫 So, that's a roundabout way of saying I won't be able to give a very informed answer to this. Neither way, I will tell you the different Gods I associate with the BE babes. I won't be able to do one for each character because my Greek mythology knowledge is now (after a decade) pretty shocking 😊 Here we go!
Tumblr media
For Dong Sik, I can think of four Gods. First is Apollo, "the God of the sun, light, music and poetry, healing and plagues, prophecy and knowledge, order and beauty, archery and agriculture." I feel like Apollo's diversity is well-suited to Dong Sik, it represents who he truly is beneath his masquerading. Apollo is the sunlight at the centre of Dong Sik's sorrow. (But also, healing and plagues???? prophecy and knowledge?? That's perfect for him.) The second is a kind of sad one that I'm not sure if I fully like for his character but... Hades, God of the Underworld. Hades is surrounded by death, and Dong Sik's basement could be seen as a "hell" of sorts... I know it's not perfect, but I feel like this could represent Dong Sik's trauma and his dark side- the side that could kill a man. The third is (actually the first one that came to mind and one of my favourite gods), OF COURSE, IT HAS TO BE QUEEN OF PETTINESS HERSELF: Eris, the Goddess of Discord. He can be a little shit, what else do I need to say? The Fourth would be Athena, the Goddess of War. Wisdom, handicraft, warfare?? These elements perfectly represent Dong Sik's cunningly strategic mind (and the fact that he's been at war for... far too long).
Tumblr media
Okay, so, maybe because I project onto him a lot in terms of Gods, Joo Won has feminine energy. So, I only associate him with the ladies. The first goddess I would choose for Joo Won is Artemis, the Goddess of THE HUNT! (and chastity lol). Do I need say more??? (I'm going to) My guy is constantly hunting for something (because of the deep sense of lacking from within) and I feel like Artemis' duality of being soft with things she loves (nature and animals) but her brutality of killing those who cross her (and the things she loves), really speaks to Joo Won merciless nature. Plus, she is a moon god and I LOVE associating the moon with Joo Won (and the sun with Dong Sik). The second is Dike, the Goddess of Justice. We know how much Joo Won cares for "moral order and fair judgement" (when it suits him). But even when he fucks up himself, he enforces the "wrath of the law" (a haechi, if you will). The third is Persephone, Goddess of Spring and the Queen of the Underworld. That duality must do something to a person; it must turn pretty chaotic. Think about it! to spend so much of their time with the dead but to also represent new life. Well, that's Joo Won for you! I've long associated my guy with springtime because that season is so chaotic and difficult, but it leads to rebirth and rejuvenation, which is so Joo Won: he's so fucking difficult but he brings new life. Also, Atë is a good one for Joo Won. "She is known as the Greek goddess of evil, misfortune, obsession, guilt, infatuation, and mischief." (and Oedipus but.... that's a whoooollleeee other kettle of fish) The other characters are a little more difficult to do because my knowledge is so shit these days. But I will try for you!!
Tumblr media
I associate three gods with Jae Yi. First is an obvious one: Hestia, the Goddess of the Hearth. Jae Yi provides a sense of home and a lot of food. She feeds her loved ones and is an anchor in a world full of heartache. One could argue that in itself is quite maternal of her, but I don't really associate motherhood with Jae Yi, nor would I associate it with how she treats her community. Second is another obvious one of Athena, the Goddess of War. Wisdom, handicraft, warfare. I think this side of her and Dong Sik's personalities is what makes them so similar; they're both very intelligent people who are fighters. The third is less obvious and I'm not entirely sure why this one makes me think of Jae Yi but... Hephaestus, the God of Blacksmith and Fire. Look, I know. But Hephaestus was known as a craftsman, and I like to think of Jae Yi as a very capable and practical person that takes care of things by herself.
Tumblr media
Okay, so Ji Hwa is pretty hard, but my first thought was Hera, the Queen of the Gods because SHE IS MY QUEEN... and because she had a really shitty husband. Another God I think represents my gal really well is Sancus, the God of loyalty, honesty and oaths. I know Sancus can be affiliated with marriage, but I think loyalty really applies well to how Ji Hwa treats her relationships, as a whole. Even her troublesome relationship with the law and the police institution. Yeah, she struggles but she wants to do what is right. The third is Dike, the Goddess of Justice. I think this god suits both Joo Won and Ji Hwa because I think the way they approach the law is pretty similar. I think they have a few similar personality traits and a few times throughout the show their opinions match (but are represented differently).
Tumblr media
Okay, so, those four are the only ones I'm going to go into depth with. I know that's probably less than what you were looking for BUT at least, I covered The Gays. There are a few honourable mentions- Jung Je: The Algea (lol sorry JJ) Kang Jin Mook: Phonoi and Harpocrates Hyuk gives me Hermes vibes Yu Yeon: Hecate, Thanatos, Selene (idk, Han Ki Hwan is Zeus because he's fucking awful but still, somehow, thinks he's great???)
Anyway, that's all I have for you. I know this isn't really what you were looking for, so if you have any in mind (either relating to which Greek Gods to associate with different BE characters or who would be which deities’ kid) I would love to know them : ) Bye for now!

My thoughts while watching Holes for the billionth time
It’s fucked up that the movie starts with all the supporting characters watching their friend attempt suicide
How long was Stanley’s trial and how short was Zero’s trial? Because we know that Zero got arrested the day after Stanley did, but he arrived at Camp Greenlake significantly earlier. Like, he knew Barfbag, he already had a nickname, people knew he liked to dig. How long was he there before Stanley showed up?
In the book when they sing the song, they howl on the word moon (it’s written “moo-oo-oon”) and I wish they did that in the movie
The Yelnatses screwed Stanley over by not getting him a lawyer. The little bits we see of his case prove they had no clue what they were doing. And when they eventually do get a lawyer, he’s let out almost immediately.
I love how Dr. Pendanski is written. He’s such a terrible person who has convinced himself and is trying to convince those around him that he is the nicest guy around. He fucking sucks and I love how he’s written and how Tim Blake Nelson plays him.
“Today’s menu: Chili, string beans, re-fried beans, garbanzo beans, green beans, and banana jello” — aren’t green beans and string beans the same thing?
The cinematic choices made in this movie are just *chef’s kiss*. The way they jump from timeline to timeline without ever losing pace is masterful
Eartha Kitt is flawless.
While Eartha Kitt is flawless, I want it noted that in the book, Madame Zeroni is described as a one legged Romani person (Sachar actually used the G slur) and Eartha Kitt is neither one-legged nor Romani.
Zero is the fastest digger in the camp, but they never really explain how big the camp is. Like, is he the fastest out of 25 people? 60 people, 140 people?
Just to revisit point 8, I fucking love Eartha Kitt
The yellow spotted lizards are such an excellent plot device
All the inmates are either A) mentally ill B) people of color or C) severely traumatized. But most of them are D) all of the above
When Squid throws out Stanley’s letter, catch Zero in the background with a pool cue ready to beat the shit out of that motherfucker
It’s weird that they show Sam as some kind of snake oil salesman when we know that his product actually works. The yellow spotted lizards won’t bite you if you’ve eaten his onions. Why claim they cure baldness or that Mary Lou is over 100 years old?
Zero back at it again ready to throw hands for Stanley, this time with a billiards ball
The fact that magnet got locked up for stealing a thousand dollar puppy
“You are here on account of one person. You know who that person is?” “Yeah, my no good, dirty rotten, pig-stealing, great great grandfather. That’s who it is”
Henry Winker provides such comedic levity
When Zero asks Stanley to teach him how to read and it’s such a nice moment of vulnerability, only to be shot down by Stanley. I just want to cry
What happens if someone actually dies at Camp Greenlake? Like, Zero and Stanley ran away and Barfbag got sent to the hospital, but they all survived. What would the protocol be if someone just dies while digging? Clearly there’s not a lot of oversight because Stanley can get away with Zero digging his hole, so what happens when one of those kids get overheated working all day in the Texas sun and just collapses in their hole one day and nobody thinks to check on them until the next day when the buzzards are all gathered around their corpse?
I’ve waited long enough to say this. Sigourney Weaver in this movie is one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. I fucking love her
Sam and Katherine. nuff said
“Well then I guess you’d be in a lot of trouble if your boat leaked.” *sobs*
Just casually reciting Edgar Allen Poe from memory as a way of professing my love to a woman I legally cannot be with due to racist laws forbidding interracial relationships.
I can’t help but remember that Scott Plank died during the post production of this movie. Respect to him and his ability to play such a good villain as Trout Walker
“No one ever says no to Trout Walker.” “I believe I just did.” SAY IT LOUDER, KATE!
Sam
I love that Kate’s MO came from a racist sheriff sexually harassing her
The sunflower seed thing reminds me of something that happened to me at RTC and it’s just a really nice moment for me
Stanley acting so casual by not doing the one thing he’s supposed to be doing
The look on Magnet’s face right before Stanley covers for him
I really want to know more about the Warden and Mr. Sir’s relationship
I also really want a bottle of that rattlesnake nail polish, but maybe that’s just me
I also really like that Sachar didn’t shy away from the racial implications of a white guy having a black guy do his labor for him. Then again, the whole story is an indictment of racism and the American prison system, so it makes sense he wouldn’t ignore that
The way Stanley gets so excited when Zero mentions that park. Like ‘oh, we have something in common. We used to go to the same park!’ and Zero just shuts it down with “I used to sleep in the tunnel next to the swing and bridge” Stanley may have been cursed, but he still had a home
Zero finally gets to throw hands on Stanley’s behalf. He’s been waiting to do that since point 14
Pendanski really is the shittiest
“No one cares about Hector Zeroni” “I do”
I love that Twitch was just instantly ready to help Stanley steal Mr. Sir’s car
What are the chances of Kate, Zero, and Stanley all finding Sam’s boat in the middle of the desert? And I know Kate probably spent years looking for it after the lake dried up and for Zero and Stanley it was destiny, but still
Zero, you gotta ration that sploosh
One more time for emphasis: I love Eartha Kitt
Kate dying and she hallucinates Sam, only to be snapped out of it by Trout Walker. Just Trout stopping them from being together one last time
“It hasn’t rained here since the day they killed Sam” and you think whatever deity made that happen is gonna let anyone in the Walker family end up with Kate Barlow’s fortune?
“I can’t leave without Hector.”
“Call my mom. Tell her I said I was sorry. Tell her Theodore said he was sorry” cue Small Steps
Justice reigns over the Walker family and rain falls over the Walker estate
I would love for someone to find out just how much that treasure chest was really worth. Can one of those theorist channels get on that, please?
Hector finding his mom is nothing short of heart-melting. I’m not crying, you’re crying
“Camp Greenlake was closed and the boys were released on time served and sent to real counselors” Wait, are you implying that forced labor is an unjust prison sentence? Someone better tell the prison industrial complex!
So what happened with Sweet Feet? Did they sit him down and explain the misunderstanding before or after signing him as the spokesperson for their product? He was the prosecution’s lead witness at Stanley’s trial, but nope! All is forgiven!
The soundtrack slaps
Point 53, however you have Shia Labeouf and Eartha Kitt in the same movie and you put which one of them on the soundtrack? Just wondering who made that call. Like, you layer ‘I Want To Be Evil’ or ‘Burned As A Witch’ over any of Kissing Kate Barlow’s scenes, it’d be perfect. But no, instead we get the dude from Even Stevens trying to rap.

So I was watching Frozen II the other day and the whole confusion about the voice visited again. Like, who's calling Elsa? Is it Ahtohallan? Her mom? Her own self? Jennifer Lee (I think) said that the voice belongs to Iduna, but that doesn't sit well with me. And then I remembered that I've written my own theory about it, which why not share it with you? 😂
It's probably very inaccurate based on the things we know, but it was really fun to write!
Hope you enjoy!
(A/N: italics are extracts of the book "Frozen II: The Junior Novel")
The Fifth Spirit
Very long ago, in a time no man can recall, humans weren't the dominant species on Earth. There were no rules, yet neither freewill.
Or so it was thought.
People lived under nature's laws -they interacted with it, respected it greatly but mostly feared it. Prophecies about nature's rage were foolishly believed and seriously taken into account.
But it wasn't nature they truly feared -it was its magic.
Humans never succeeded to understand magic -it was considered unreachable. Only a small group of people that repeatedly refused to take part in the "vision of civilization" decided to co- exist with the magical elements and spirits of nature. These people were the first human inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest and the ancestors of the future indigenous Northuldra.
As time went on, people grew more and more arrogant, thought they were capable of everything and gradually stopped believing in nature's power. They began sacrificing and falsely taking advantage of nature's goods. Seeing their audacity getting out of hand, the spirits of air, fire, water and earth sought help from Ahtohallan, the mythical river said to hold all the answers.
The then- small glacier, foreseeing the consequences of people's hauteur, sacrificed a part of herself and sculpted a female figure, with hair and skin as white and pale as freshly fallen snow and eyes as blue as shining ice. With her ancient magic, the glacier gave life to the woman, who was none other than the Fifth Spirit.
According to scanty myths, the woman had achieved great and extraordinary accomplishments in her previous life and the magical river had collected and kept her soul to be used for greater things when the right time would arrive. However, those speculations never came to be confirmed.
Nonetheless, why she was there and why she was chosen, that she never came to know. And a part of her wondered if she ever would.
People's conceit kept growing in an astonishingly fast pace while the Fifth Spirit was given a duty -to connect humans and the magic of nature, as well as protect the only home she would ever know in her existence; the Enchanted Forest.
Apart from her duty, she was also given a power no human had known and no spirit had possessed -the ability to create ice and snow, to control and bring winter. After connecting with the other elements, she was also gifted and given powers to represent all four spirits, such as wings, the ability to strike lightning and control the water, as well as the power to cause earthquakes.
The Fifth Spirit was sent to humans after fully mastering her powers and understanding her purpose. Under the guidance of the unseen deity, people began having faith in nature and underlying yet great respect.
However, this was not an easy task to achieve. It took her almost a hundred years to restore people's faith and trust -but she successfully accomplished it.
Each passing day her power grew significantly, and so did her fondness for her creator. To show her gratitude, she used her unprecedented power and expanded the length and height of her beloved glacier, making Ahtohallan an extension of her powers and mostly, herself.
To honour her child, Ahtohallan assigned to her a new task; she had to visit a chosen woman's dream and recite a poem that would soon be heard from every young Northuldra mother's lips -the lullaby of Ahtohallan. The old glacier also gifted her with a beautiful staff that could summon power and turn into a crystal necklace when unneeded.
Having already mentioned the lullaby, it's important to subjoin the meaning behind a specific lyric -"dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned". The youthful spirit created a sheer drop that ended to an ice sheet to keep there the utmost truth, for only the most selfless souls would be fearless enough to ignore the warning, as well as brave enough to dive into the abyss. That, if anyone would ever manage to reach the frozen river. For the mighty Water Nokk -who shared a very special bond with the Fifth Spirit- guarded her secrets.
For the very start of her existence -as well as in the meantime of her mission to restore people's faith-, the Fifth Spirit would travel across the Earth to bring winter and joy to the children. She was the very first winter spirit  -Jack Frost made his appearance a lot later. Legend has it that she was the Snow Queen the Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, spoke about in his fairytale. However, unseen as she was, this theory had never had a requisite basis and was never further explained.
As time went on, the forlorn deity was assigned tasks that aimed for specific, chosen people freeing their potential, resulting their lifework to be considered admirable, and almost magical. All spirits had agreed there were and there would be humans that deserved to be known for their own "magic". The Fifth Spirit helped people accomplish dreams and bring visions to life, as she was the only spirit that had the power to transform, painlessly get into one's head to guide and/or give advice and take a human form of any needed age as well as gender when one's achievement was considered of great difficulty. She even had the power to seek a specific ability she didn't possess -which would later on be declared hers- so her efforts could be crowned with success.
She could do anything. There was only one thing she was unable to do; feel.
She was emotionless.
Even her fondness for her mother was taken away after the second century passed. It was thought that if she was given the ability to feel, she would show mercy and compassion and her unlimited patience would spare.
So forsaken she remained. Nameless and isolated, unseen and walked through by people, having to serve her cause on her own, merely meeting with the other spirits on specific occasions.
One of them was on the first day of spring every five years, when everything was blooming, blossoming and growing. A great part of the Enchanted Forest was her deed -she expanded its length and grew more trees, more grass, bloomed more flowers, added more bushes, a small river -where the Earth Giants would be sleeping in the future- that floated into a waterfall which ended at a sheer drop, a pit full of black rocks later known as the Lost Caverns. Because of this, the spirits gave her the appellation "The Reincarnation of Mother Nature" -the only name she was ever given.
For most of her existence -as long as she was waiting  for her next task to be handed-, she lived close to her glacier. Away from any kind of life, on her own, in her Ice Palace of memories. She spent so many years close to it, that her fondness returned and she wanted to praise her treasured river.
So she gifted her her voice.
Her act was pure and sincere and played a significant role in the Enchanted Forest's and spirit's future. The iconic and quintessential call would later on be heard, and then, much later, known worldwide as one of the most famous melodies of the Gregorian Chant -the "Dies Irae".
During one of her missions, on the fjord south of the Enchanted Forest, while she was making sure the protector of people, the famous warrior of old, Aren, had achieved his life-changing goal, something changed. Aren was a little bit like her, a protector who served people as his cause. She was protecting the Forest and was serving both nature and humans. Yet a big difference grew the gap between them; he was loved and surrounded by people.
He was feeling.
She wasn't.
Occasionally, she would roam the night skies to witness a life she had never known, to witness how people felt.
And remind herself how she couldn't.
She had been told to distance herself from sunlight, as if she was a single snowflake that would melt when she met with sun's light. She had been told humans were weak, mischievous and unpredictable creatures. She had been told she was greater and superior. Yet she caught herself longing to spend a day warm in the sun, longing to see people dancing...
Longing to feel.
And so she did. Painfully, her as cold and hard as ice heart melted and its first beats sounded like heavy raindrops hitting the dry soil loudly.
She had never felt so alive. She had never... felt.
However, her accidental action required a cost to be paid.
The same, previously mentioned scanty myths, referred to another woman's soul, which had been collected and kept by Ahtohallan. She was certain she would be the one given the great purpose and when she wasn't, her soul never reached the heavens as she swore revenge on the young soul of the Fifth Spirit. Hiding her true intentions, in Ahtohallan's chambers she remained, nurturing the young spirit like mother Ahtohallan did.
Once she learned the youthful deity had broken the laws she had been restrained from ignoring, the resentful soul brought her bitter foe to the Enchanted Forest, secretly from Ahtohallan, and for the first time in forever, she allowed her to feel.
While she burned her.
The Fifth Spirit was set on fire and was obliged to feel her skin melting, like snow on a bright, sunny day. It was unimaginably painful. Her haunting call, that was later on used by a young Northuldra girl, tore the sky apart and meant only one thing;
"Help me".
If it wasn't for Ahtohallan's and Water Nokk's intervention, the Fifth Spirit would have vanished. The evil soul was banished to the Lost Caverns, a place with no way out, where one would be at their lowest emotional point from that day forward. However, before she was sent away, the hateful soul put a curse on the traumatized spirit -when she failed to serve her cause, she would be burned. If the mistreating soul still existed, that no one ever confirmed.
After her adored water horse healed her with the water's curative properties, the Fifth Spirit swore not to feel again, and accepted the prohibition of getting any near the land where the future kingdom of Arendelle would come to be.
Thousands of years passed and the unseen spirit's heart had gotten colder than ice, preventing her from repeating her mistake. Ahtohallan and the other spirits mourned for her, for she was not who she had once been, and made great efforts to change the past's design, intentionally forgetting what had been done was unchangeable.
Despite her change -and most likely because of it-, the Fifth Spirit had dedicated most of her attention to her precious forest. Seeing this, Ahtohallan assigned her the task of looking after a young Northuldra girl, so the deity could be surrounded by her forest.
The Fifth Spirit and the young Northuldra were somehow connected. Iduna, the young Northuldra, would occasionally hear the eerie melody of the spirit, since the deity would "sing to those who hear". The girl would also be seen playing around with Gale, the feisty Wind Spirit. Iduna was connected with nature in an unexplainable way -she was different and destined for great things; she was chosen.
One day, ships arrived at the entrance to the fjord south of the Enchanted Forest -wooden ships full of people who were determined to create a home for themselves near the water. Soon, the kingdom of Arendelle came to be and the Fifth Spirit knew what that meant.
The newcomers were welcomed by the Northuldra's ruler when he met with their king on a cliff as the sun set. The leaders firmly shook hands at this meeting, which was seen by others only in hazy silhouette. Yet the deity saw everything clearly.
To demonstrate their goodwill and friendship, the Arendellians built a mighty dam in the Enchanted Forest. They placed it on the river that flowed into the Arenfjord, the deep blue body of water upon which Arendelle Castle had been built. The dam connected all the lands and made it easier for the Northuldra and their reindeer to roam. King Runeard, the leader of Arendelle, offered it to the Northuldra as a symbol of peace and cooperation between the two groups. But the powerful spirit could see past his facade.
When the dam was complete, the Arendellians threw a great celebration. Northuldra from all over the land gathered at the base of the dam to mingle and feast with the Arendellians. The Fifth Spirit tried to warn the indigenous tribe about the trickery behind the kindness for months but no one listened -they were all busy welcoming and celebrating with the frenemies.
The poor spirit could see how it would all end and attempted to warn young Iduna. But it was too late -the battle had already begun.
Arendelle had turned out to be harmful once again. And as the lush beauty of her beloved forest was being destroyed, as the chaos continued beneath her, she cried, with her plangent call shaking the trees and crumbling the ground.
Her cry echoed as another voice synchronized with it -a pleading for help. Her eyes spotted Iduna holding a young boy in her embrace, as the girl called for help in agony. The Fifth Spirit, overcome with grief of centuries, wailed her eerie melody, mourning for her forest.
As well as for herself.
Her end was near and she was about to meet her tragic fate. She had failed to protect the Forest. She had failed to serve her cause -and the curse continued.
The Wind Spirit heard her call and took the children to safe ground. But it was the only one who listened.
Overcome with rage, the Fifth Spirit cried sorrowfully one last time before a mist, as thick and impenetrable as stone, enveloped the forest, as a promise she would forever guard it from foreigners. Then she disappeared, since people had stopped listening.
However, this was not her end. The Wind Spirit carried the remaining bits of her body to the devastated glacier that grieved over her lost daughter for days, in the meantime causing great parts of herself to collapse. The Water Spirit, overwhelmed with pain as well, told the river about the girl the Fifth Spirit was assigned to look after. Ahtohallan understood the importance of the young Northuldra's deed and finally let the soul of the deity find its new body, knowing she would not return the same.
The Fifth Spirit's soul travelled across the skies and on the Northern Lights above Arendelle it remained, looking after young Iduna, for she was destined to carry in her womb the reincarnation of the lost spirit.
And so, the spirits waited -waited for the Fifth Spirit to be reborn and return to where she belonged.
They waited for her to rise again.

MUN QUESTIONS.
Q1 :   If you could write your character your way in their own movie,  what would it be called,  what style would it be filmed in, and what would it be about?
A1 :  Beyond the Wood - a southern gothic film riddled with a feeling of discomfort, lurking cryptids, old gods, and one badass bun.
Q2 :   What would their soundtrack/score sound like?
A2 :  Dark folk with eerie instrumentals and scratchy voices that make you feel both at home and like something is watching you from the woods outside your window.
Q3 :   Why did you start writing this character?
A3 :   Esja has had many faces. She started as a warrior bun, went off the rails as a botanist, and ultimately transformed into the woman she is now. I’ve always loved southern gothic and norse themes, and I decided to cram them both together. I didn’t think it would work so well, but she’s easily my favorite thing ever.
Q4 :   What first attracted you to this character?
A4 :  Everything. I’ve wanted a viera since I was a little kid, and I was so sad to have to wait so long to play one in FFXIV. I’d resigned myself to using mods for eternity, but bless SE for finally giving me the option. Also, who doesn’t love a strong lady bun?
Q5 :   Describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.
A5 :  Her desire for infamy and immortality overshadows any craving for love, and it makes me feel for her. She’s so wrapped up in her dreams and hides behind the walls she’s built that she’ll probably never find it. It’s easy to find company for the night, but we all know that isn’t satisfying forever. I keep my fingers crossed for her, though.
Q6 :   What do you have in common with your muse?
A6 :   I, too, am a lone wolf who does no evil but takes no shit. But honestly, I have been pulling a lot of inspiration from Esja to apply to real life. I’ve started hiking, I want to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, and I’ve stood up for myself a lot more since creating her. She’s my muse in every sense of the word!
Q7 :   How does  your muse feel about  you?
A7 :   I would for sure be one of the green adventurers she mentors. Though I imagine she’d kick my ass off a cliff for whining too much.
Q8 :   What characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ?
A8 :   I’ve only had a handful of roleplays with Esja, but she will easily have a good time with anyone willing to arm wrestle and get drunk under a full moon. If that’s your jam, hit a girl up!
Q9 :   What gives  you inspiration  to write  your muse ?
A9 :  Vikings, norse mythology, southern gothic aesthetic, the supernatural, dense forests, folk music, and folk horror.
Q10 : How long did this take you to complete ?
A10 : Started at 11am and worked on it off and on throughout the day.

Church/ Soulmate au
N/A: Is a cliche I´ll use but I like it. So, let´s see what happens here.
@djinmer4 @sailorstar9 @dannybagpipesarecalling @discordsworld @look-ma-no-hands336
In Ultramar, a country that banished religion for the concept of a positive future, and in a more “clean” future, they ´re separated into 3 classes. The first class is dominated class A and is where the richer and nobles live well, the second class is dominated class B where people with fewer means live and the third class is dominated class C where people with no means are located. Another thing to mention about this world, there´s the soulmate system, where each person is blessed with a half tattoo and your significant other is born with the complete draw, the idea is that each person, unite, and makes the perfect union.
The Prydes meet thanks to the soulmate system. Terry Pryde had a half image of a yellow heart and Cameron had the other half. However, their daughter, Kitty Pryde, has a strange symbol on her hand that no one can decipher.
Her symbol is a half image of a sun, however, the design is very ancient and thanks to a research Kitty made, this type of design is a date in 1600, which, means two things or her soulmate is a hipster that loves old things or her soulmate is already dead. In addition, this prompts pity and mocking from her peers ever since.
Ultramar has some problems and struggles, yet, they have too much pride to ask for help, except, in the health department and when the affiliation of the church offers the help they begrudge accepts. So, this week, everyone has a chance to get vaccinate and the Prydes won´t let that chance be wasted.
“Kitty, sweetie, come on, or the queue will be too big” Terry urged Kitty and Cameron makes some jokes about queue and big things that Terry and Kitty ignored.
The young woman is preparing herself as she is being urged by her mother one more time, however, in the hurry, Kitty forgets her own white gloves and that will change her future forever.
The nurse is making small idle talk with Kitty Pryde, Kitty thinks being a nurse can be a nice occupation. “So, is it raining outside? They broadcast a heavy rain” and the nurse takes Kitty´s arm carefully preparing for the procedure.
Kitty shakes her head, “I´d not think it will rain today, but, the weather is a mystery sometimes” she jokes and the nurse hums in good humour and once the shot is given. “Hey, you have a very pretty tattoo” the nurse speaks in a soothing tone.
Kitty is a bit crestfallen. “Well, that´s a sad tattoo, is the mark of my soulmate but judging by how old it is, is a very ancient style this drawn, my soulmate is already dead” Kitty replied.
“Oh, I´m sorry, but, maybe your soulmate isn´t from here, maybe your soulmate is outside of Ultramar”
“Yeah, well, I´m too poor to leave this country, so, I´d not have means to chase my soulmate”
______________________________________________ In the centrefold of the power of the Church where the Inquisition lives, and nurse Williams is forgetting the proper protocol and is barging into the private area of the head of inquisition.  And she is rewarded by seeing the man himself, if she can call him as such, sitting in the dark in his throne-like chair and drinking wine(is it wine or blood? Is hard to tell and no one dares to make the question) “Sister Williams?” Kurt Szardos regards Sister Williams with little interest. “What´s so important that prompts you to forget the protocols?” his words have mirth, but, is laced with something else, not always, when Kurt Szardos smiles means something good will happen to you.
“I´ve found your soulmate” she speaks and that dangerous smile continues, oh, how many, many and many people try to manipulate him with this talk and how they all fall down. “I´ve proof” she Sister Williams is quick to give an image of the tattoo.
“Where did you found her?” Kurt´s tone is too authoritative and Sister Williams has no reason for the lie.
“In Ultramar, section C. She´s lives in a poor area, along with her family. Her name is…” __________________________________________________
Ultramar hates the Church more than people realize, is not mere displeasure, is a downright malicious feeling, is genuine hate, and Kurt Szardos, the speaking voice of the Church, is the one they hate the most. The government tries secret assassinations plots that always, always fail. So, when the man himself appears in Ultramar, the government is less than, please.
The man is as dangerous as he´s handsome. So, of course, women did look at him(the old fetish of churchmen is strong and hide well in Ultramar) but, Kurt is not paying them any mind as he arrives in the house 34.
Stories of Cinderella dances in his mind. And, Kurt wonders, for a moment, if his soulmate would want her to punish those who wrong him like Cinderella with her step-sisters.
The Prydes look dubious at Kurt Szardos, while, Kitty Pryde is in total awe. Especially as their tattoo shows a complete and genuine match. “We´re soulmates! Wait, how old are you?” Kitty asked confused, this tattoo´s design is very old and Kurt does not appear to be over 30.
Kurt chuckles and whispers into her ear, ignoring the Prydes. “I´m a vampire, and I was waiting for you”
The prydes are not sharing the same sentiment as Kitty is, however, she´s in cloud nine and their only daughter deserve to be happy, even if is with a vampiric deity that works as head of inquisition.
Ultramar´s government did not take well their own citizen have a connection with a person they loathe so much, so, they decide to do something. Ultramar has many hitman and mercenaries at their beck call, one word, and Kitty Pryde is dead.
Kitty Pryde was happily going to buy some treats, a small celebration she is making, as her soulmate is finally here with her. Sadly, the celebration will be cut short as a hand muffled her screams and take her away.
Ultramar does not forget.
And neither does Kurt.
Kurt manages to find Kitty in time, a battle (if the word can be used here) issues and Kurt left no survivors, only Kitty blindfold and scared is visible. “Katzchen, are you hearing?” she nods “you´re safe now, I´ll take you to a much safer place” and adds “do you trust me?”
“Yes, of course” Kitty Pryde is in the Church now, she´s being taken care of and is slowly come to terms of what it meant to be Kurt´s soulmate. The man enters the room with hot chocolate and Kitty greedily drinks it.
“Will” she starts making a question “became a vampire like you?” and Kurt only chuckles at such naive question.
“No, Katzchen, vampire genes aren´t like the movies show, I can´t make you a vampire” he speaks amused and Kitty is crestfallen.
“So, I´ll die and you´ll be alone one day?” Kitty asked again and Kurt has the self control to not cry or show how this is not an outcome that will ever happen.
“Katzchen, you may not be a vampire, but, you may be immortal” Kurt answers kindly and gives a kiss on her forehead “now, tell me, what are you thinking of the Church?”
“Oh, I´m loving it. Ultramar, often told us how you´re all evil” Kitty speaks and then try to amend “but, they´re wrong” Kurt watches as Kitty has a soft expression telling about her childhood and Kurt is mesmerized. ___________________________________________________________
However, she soon asked about her parents, as she can say she´s nowhere near close to her house, Kurt´s answer is not very satisfying to Kitty. “Ultramar tried to kill you, they wanted to kill you again”
“And my parents are safely in Ultramar?!” Kitty exclaimed angrily “Why I can´t contact them? Kurt, they´re my family”
“Is not safe, Katzchen” Kurt replied again.
“I´ll talk to my parents whatever you want or not”
The discussion is getting heat, until, Kurt agrees under one condition. “ I´ll go with you and if I saw anything strange I´ll act upon, is that agreeable?”
Kitty agrees in the end. And after a month, the Prydes finally saw their daughter, she´s wearing fancy outfits and look far prettier than one month ago. The Prydes hug Kitty, but, don´t offer the courtesy to Kurt.
How Ultramar didn´t take revenge on her family? Kurt has some theories and one that makes more sense, at least for now, is that Ultramar wants to hurt him, the Prydes´ death won´t make him cry, now, Kitty´s death…
Again, the Prydes aren´t that happy with the man.
“Kurt, can I take my parents with me?” she asked in a suggestive tone. “They would be safer in Europe”
The Prydes aren´t too keen on having to be closer of Kurt, however, Kitty´s words have the truth. Kurt is thinking for a moment, until, he concedes is possible to take the Prydes if they so wish to. Again, Kurt and the Prydes won´t have the happiest in-law relationship.
Kitty´s story is the real case of Cinderella and people love it. The poor woman who manages to be the soulmate of the prince(head of inquisition on this case) and many make questions and interviews about the case.
Kitty a real introvert is not too comfortable with people making questions about her love life, unlike Kurt, who seems to take those interviews easily.
“For how long we´ll have to do this?” she asked bemused and Kurt holds her hand gentle calming her nerves.
“The hype will die eventually, however, I´d thank you for doing this for me, Katzchen” there´s a genuine joy in his eyes and kitty is always in awe with her soulmate.
“Fine, but, only because I love you too much”
“I love you too, Katzchen”
The couple is together and the only real conflict comes with the Prydes and when Kurt often makes plans that involve Kitty being absence from her family without them knowing, but, Kitty loves Kurt deeply and Kurt loves Kitty Pryde to death and they can overcome this issue as a strong couple.

Interesting stuff I found in Frost’s gear
So, we all know that certain objects have interesting names that can give some info about the characters. And I found more stuff that are really amusing. Under ‘read more’ of course because is gonna be kind of long.
Tumblr media
Daughter of Arctika: at first glance, let’s be honest, is not one of her most interesting masks she has (Lin Kuei Renegade, Speak No Evil and Chosen Destiny are my favorites so far, also Diamondteeth, it quite reminds of an ice cave). Arctika is the place where the Lin Kuei temple is, so it’s quite amusing seeing how this important place is mentioned in her gear. Plus using the word daughter could refer to her commitment with the clan, symbolically, obviously, and how important of a figure she was for them before being kicked out.
Tumblr media
Deathmatch Champion: in the MKX comics, Cassie fights against Frost in a cage, but it’s actually a deathmatch, so one of them should be finish by the end (none of them die that night, thanks Cass). When Frost is dominating the encounter, she says she has earned her spot, and by looking at the name of this masks, it looks like our cold gal was really good fighter (maybe was like a WWE but with death at the end, and at some point she won a season… maybe?).
There are other masks that refer to what is her current state, specially when it comes to the clan since she went against Sub-Zero, there are names like: Defiant One, Lost Cause, Kronika’s Apprentice, Frost 2.0, Chosen Destiny, Korruption. And her no-mask gear is called Metal Fetishist… I don’t know what that came from and I’m intrigued.
Now the power array. An addition to her that I love, and is my favorite piece of her gear.
Tumblr media
Quaestor: this is actually a political position that became official in Ancient Rome, but it had many functions depending of the era. Most of the times it was related to the investigation of topics related to murder, economy and laws, but in the Roman Empire, they have a higher position given by the Emperor, which was being the lead of the imperial council.
Tumblr media
Polaris, Andromeda, Corona Borealis and Gemma: these names now they kind of sound more familiar, well, they all related to astronomy. Andromeda, as we know, is the name of a galaxy, and is the nearest galaxy and even visible with the naked eye. Andromeda also is the name of an important figure for the greek mythology, and because of Cassiopea’s hubris, Andromeda is chained to a rock and saved by Perseus, but as we know, Frost is not a damsel in distress, but what could relate these two is the meaning of Andromeda’s, is actually latinized (andrós=man, medos=ruler), which means “Ruler of Men”, again, we could see a relation between the etymology and Frost’s position in the Lin Kuei, brought by Sub-Zero in an intro with Sonya in MKX, in which he mentions that Frost is a chief among the clan, and in MK11 is mentioned that she was one of his best students, so “Ruler of Men” could be more related to her past as a leader but also about her true intentions of becoming Grandmaster. Now, the other names refer to the Ursa Major Moving Group, Corona Borealis is known for looking like a “broken ring” but also the word “Corona” is spanish for the word “crown” in english (royalty stuff, no need to dig deeper to take more conclusions), plus Borealis is also related to the Greek God Boreas, who is the god of the winter wind from the north, and in Frost’s gear there are lots of names related to deities,so this quite fits. Also, Gemma is one of the stars that form that constellation. Polaris is another star, an important one, because is also known as The North Star, the brightest star of the constellation of Ursa Minor. There are more names in her gear related to astronomy, like the star Vega, which also relates to another name of her power array, since it has a mythological back ground for Chinese culture, Zhinü.
Tumblr media
Chang’e, Xihe, Zhinü, Hepit, Khione and Skathi: all of these names belong to different deities of different cultures. Chang’e, Xihe and Zhinü belong to the Chinese folklore, and the three of them have a relation (again) with astronomy: Chang’e with the moon, Xihe with the sun, and Zhinü, in her story, she belongs to the constellation of Lyra, and the brightest star of said constellation is (surprise) Vega. Hepit is the name of a Hurrain goddess, and she is supposed to be also a warrior goddess as well. Khione is the name of the Greek god Boreas' (who I mentioned before) daughter, and is no other than the goddess of snow. And last but not least, Skathi. Skathi actually is more like a former name for Skadi, which was the goddess of winter and hunting (rumored to be also a goddess of destruction).
Tumblr media
Birka Viking and Ringkvinna; first, Birka Viking, for what I found in my research, could be a reference to the archaeological discovery of a viking female warrior found in Birka, at first, it was thought to be a male, but after a deeper research is proven to be a woman, judging by the artifacts that were found with her bones, she was a high-ranked professional warrior, and is known that there were female viking warriors (plus, we have the mythological identities called Valkyries, and in Frost’s gear there is a power array called Ice Valkyrie). Now, Ringkvinna is also interesting because is an old term of unmarried women with no children who inherit the position of the head of the family, also this term is used in the viking era. This last name could be a hint to Frost’s true destiny if had chosen the right path, in the dialogues with Sub-Zero, we know that she was his heir, and would have become the Grandmaster if had waited a little bit more (congratulations Frost, you played yourself).
There are other power arrays with names that have a relation close to canon, specially one that is called after the Jin Sei chamber, and also to Fujin too.
So far, this are different pieces I found that had a lot of relation to Frost as a character and her previous position in the clan, the frozen core has names that are give us a hint more of her present self, her relation with Kronika, the Jin Sei, the Axiom (a computer algebra system). The name of her skins also vary and have different type of subjects: cryomancy (Thermal Shock, Endothermic, Frazil, Cryomistress, etc), related to Kronika (Kronika’s Temporal Reactor, Borrowed Time, Future Real, New Era, Temporal Grandmistress, etc), and her being the next Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei (True Sub-Zero, New Grandmaster, Lin Kuei Upgrade, Future Lin Kuei, Coming Greatness, etc), and of course, her charming attitude (Intractable Ego, Smug Insolence, Headstrong, Proudly Insubordinate, Black-Hearted, Ungovernable, Seditious Student, etc).

My Drow Lore Rework
Drow feature as a fairly large antagonist in Dungeon of the Mad Mage, but their lore has always rubbed me the wrong way. No society should be entirely, universally evil. But I still wanted to use drow as villains. So what did I do? I rewrote drow lore a bit. And to fill you in with how I'm going to handle drow from now on, I'm going to do what I do best, I'm going to tell you a story. A story of the ancient past, of centuries of scheming. A story of the elves.
A long, long, long time ago, too long ago to properly determine, the elves were united under Corellon. Their forms changed on a whim like their primary deity's did as they wandered the world. Lolth was second in command of the elven pantheon, a position she held with silent determination. Unfortunately, this relative peace wouldn't last. You see, it kind of sucks being second in command, especially when the first in command hardly seems to make any decisions. Corellon is a mercurial deity, wandering about, taking various forms, but never seeming to have a plan to elevate the elves. If Lolth were in charge, she could bring about a golden age of the elves. At least that's what she thinks. But Corellon would never agree to this. He is content to let his whims carry him and the elves for all eternity. So, Lolth sits back and schemes. She has all the time in the multiverse.
She schemes, and schemes, until she puts together a plan. Out there in the Outer Planes is the infinite Abyss. This plane of pure chaotic evil corrupts all that its denizens, the demons, get near. With enough powerful ones on the Prime Material Plane, the whole plane could be corrupted and dragged into the Abyss. If Lolth were of the Abyss and went through this corruption process she could wrest control of the plane not just from Corellon, but from every other power of the Prime Material Plane. A web begins to form.
Lolth carefully convinces other elven deities, among them Ghaunadaur and Eilistraee, to follow her on a journey to claim a new domain for the elves: the largely unexplored Underdark. She convinces them that the elves could be the first to claim this unconquered and dangerous domain if Corellon could ever make up his mind about anything. Convinces them that she would make a better ruler of this new group of elves. A web is woven, a plan to split from Corellon is made. Wilfully neglected is a plan to rub it in Corellon's face as Lolth is slowly corrupted by the chaotic essence of the Abyss.
And so, the plan is set into action. Lolth takes the permanent form of a spider because Corellon always hated them and publicly dares him to defy her and her new followers, attempting to trap the primary elven god in webs so as to make her escape. However, Corellon's shifting form causes this plan to backfire. What Lolth fails to realize as the planar essence of the Abyss corrupts her, a thirst for untold violence and destruction, is that Corellon is capable of great tactics when provoked. A battle takes place as Lolth, a great battle between gods. Unfortunately Lolth had failed to inform the other deities she had been leaving with of her plan to rub this in Corellon's face, so she was alone against him as Ghaunadaur and Eilistraee safely ferried the elves that would become the drow deep beneath the ground into the Underdark.
The battle ends with Corellon deciding on a semi-permanent form, that of modern elves, to battle Lolth in and Lolth being pushed to activate a failsafe. As one final act of the battle, Lolth's webs tear open a portal to the Abyss, which she flees to so she can live to scheme some more. Finally in the Abyss, Lolth absorbs some of its essence to become a demon lord and claims one of its infinite levels for herself, naming it the Demonweb Pits.
The Abyss is a tear in the fabric of reality, infinite layers filled with creatures that seek only to destroy and corrupt. Most of these monsters are embroiled in the plane spanning Blood War between the chaotic evil demons of the Abyss and the lawful evil devils of the Nine Hells. These planes both desire to subjugate the multiverse but are at odds with each other, each keeping the other distracted. Lolth, a being from outside of the Abyss, is not distracted by such things, and can bring corruption and chaos directly to the Prime Material Plane if she has followers to do it with. Unfortunately, this is where the hole forms in her web.
As Lolth battled with Corellon on the surface, Ghaunadaur and Eilistraee brought the soon-to-be drow down into the strange magics of the Underdark. In short order they had chosen permanent forms as well, forms fit for life underground. Better vision in the dark at the cost of sensitivity to sunlight, primarily. Eilistraee, with her domain of dance, gifted each drow with the Dancing Lights cantrip to light their way, so they could see in color. They soon, well, soon in the terms of a godly tale, settled in underground, farming mushrooms and strange creatures, setting up clear paths through the dangers of the place, allowing strangers to stay in their cities at Eilistraee's behest and trading special goods with the surface.
Ghaunadaur, meanwhile, was furious with what he beheld. Lolth was reckless with what she had done, acting with uncharacteristic malice. He spent a long time determining where Lolth went after the battle, as she had disappeared from the face of the plane. The only subtle hints to her presence were the spiders that seemed to take a liking to the drow, who had since settled in underground. When Ghaunadaur discovered Lolth had moved to the Abyss of all places he became somehow more furious. She had placed all of these elves in danger and then fled to a plane of chaotic evil?! What for?
He confronted Lolth in the Demonweb Pits to determine why she had deceived so many, and to see if she would atone. But Lolth's true plan became clear as she laughed in his face, it wasn't expansion or taking over a new, unexplored territory for the elves she wanted. It was a plan to wrest the Prime Material Plane from where it laid, a product of the Inner and Outer Planes, and drag it into a land of violence and chaos where Lolth was in charge. Ghaunadaur lashed out at the new Spider Queen, but he was challenging a demon lord in her own domain, and Lolth had already been the second most powerful elven deity. He was outmatched. Lolth struck Ghaunadaur so fiercely that his divine essence was shattered and warped. Whatever portfolio and appearance he had once had was long gone. Ghaunadaur became That Which Lurks, referred to as such so as not to draw its unwanted attention by using its name, a god of slimes and oozes in the Underdark.
Eilistraee and the drow wept for their lost god, and Lolth's plan became clear. She sits in the Demonweb Pits and schemes to that end. Those schemes come to the modern Prime Material Plane in the form of rare cults of Lolth, consisting of drow that buy into Lolth's plan to overturn the plane and place herself and the drow in charge. The cults are cast out of the Underdark when they are discovered, which is how the cults in Undermountain got there. Most drow are content to live underground as crafters, traders, and farmers. Though they can't shake the spider aesthetic because Lolth wants them to return to her and continue her schemes.
In summary, I hope this lore works better than the default, because I don't like the idea that a race is inherently evil. Eilistraee is the current primary deity of the drow pantheon, a goddess of hospitality, dance and song. The drow, instead of being inherently bad, are caught in the schemes of a planar being. This still allows them to be villains, but it's because there is a demon lord out there who specifically wants drow, and not because they're all bad. They stay underground because the sun hurts their eyes, and welcome outsiders because they know how harsh the environment is in the Underdark. Other drow deities can be included as needed but modified in such a way that they're less terrible. As a rule, none of them side with Lolth. The one eight armed warrior god? Is now an example of how drow defend themselves from the threats of the Underdark's creatures, rather than being tied up in the Demonweb Pits or whatever. I hope you like this, the story kind of got away from me. I'd love to know what you think!

"Give me a character and I will tell you…" Draupadi, the Pandavas, Karna, and Duryodhana please? Also Krishna and Balarama. (please feel free to pick and choose from this wide selection; I apologise for my thinly disguised greed. :P)
(Don’t apologize! Greed is good–in this situation alone ;)
Behind the cut because this is LOOONG.
Draupadi
* How I feel about this character
One-half of my top two favorite characters in the entire epic and obviously a best beloved.
* All the people I ship romantically with this character…In a likely unpopular opinion, I only ship Draupadi/her husbands, and, honestly my preferred version is very much without angst at having to marry all five. My!Draupadi also doesn’t really have a favorite, other than a mild wistful partiality for Arjun; but both of them know for her to be married to him alone would work better in theory than practice, and that neither would really be happy were it so.
* My non-romantic OTP for this characterTEAM KRISHNA(A) FOR LIFE.
* My unpopular opinion about this characterRupa Ganguly was the One True Draupadi *tries to look fierce, fails*.
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.B.R. Chopra brings up the tantalizing possibility of Draupadi volunteering to ride on Arjuna’s chariot when the Pandavas and Krishna are coming up with the plan to defeat Bhishma, and though they end up going with Shikandi instead….True, my headcanon-Draupadi is no warrior, but the thought of allowing her some agency in avenging herself is wonderful.
* Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
….Not true, necessarily, but one of the more-realistic-alternatives for Draupadi’s miraculous birth I really love is that of it representing a rebirth in the form of a oath witnessed by fire that two of Drupad’s pre-existing children took to wreak revenge on the Kurus.
Pandavas
* How I feel about this character
Five arrogant, dorky, but essentially good-hearted heroes whose best quality is perhaps their devotion to each other against all odds. (Their brotherly love survived being wagered away by their big brother without losing their temper–how, I can’t imagine.)
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
Mostly Draupadi, honestly–though also Hidimbi for Bhima, and Subhadra/Ulupi/Chitrangada for Arjuna* My non-romantic OTP for this character
I don’t know if I could choose just one, though: but their relationship with Pandu as kids and Kunti much later fascinates me, just in the way they are kept together by love for their parent. * My unpopular opinion about this character
I…actually think that, while they are flawed, my favorite versions are still likeable and sympathetic protagonists as opposed to jerks who are just as bad as their cousins. * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
…I wish the twins had gotten seperate personalities, and even the other Pandavas more characterization to get rid of the “goody-two-shoes other than the gambling thing”/ “strong but stupid” / “insufferable Designated Hero” flanderizations you so often see. * Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
The Year of Disguise was one of the defining episodes in their lives. Prior to this, they’re so often casteist/classist/less concerned with the sufferings of others, and the forced walk in servants’ shoes must have done so much to make them better people.
Duryodhana
* How I feel about this character
Entertaining villain, often scores one of the most entertaining and talented actors out of the casts in most adaptations. * All the people I ship romantically with this character
I’m come around to Duryodhana/Bhanumati, but Duryodhana/Karna is also a Valid ‘ship. * My non-romantic OTP for this character
Duryodhana/Karna, even otherwise. Give me a version where Duryodhana is just using an sweet-ignorant-and-innocent Karna and you have a very unhappy Avani *side-eyes Starbharat, and, even more so, Suryaputra Karn** My unpopular opinion about this character
I–truthfully, I think the most unpopular opinion is irritation at how much pop culture wants to blame Duryodhana and Shakuni for everything, where Karna and other characters are…actually mostly responsible in actual canon.  The whitewashing of all other characters while Duryodhana is ridiculously evil to the extent where you wonder why no one drowned HIM at birth, is just….illogical. So that’s my grumpiest opinion. * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I want to know so much about how he actually was as an administrator! The only indication we have Duryodhana’s dying speech about how he was an awesome King and is going to heaven, that’s….showered with flowers by the gods and not disputed by Krishna, and it just makes me wonder. * Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
Duryodhana was a very loving and indulgent father and brother (to Dushala), albeit a hypocritical one–despite his treatment of Draupadi and others, he insisted that the women he cared for be held to a higher standard.
Karna
* How I feel about this character
Rather more irritation than most people in the fandom, I’m afraid. * All the people I ship romantically with this character
I never really–grew up with stories of Karna/His Wife, so I don’t really ship him with Vrushali/Urvi/Supriya/other variations of this character. Truthfully, it’s pretty much Karna/Duryodhana, or nothing. * My non-romantic OTP for this character
Karna & Arjuna as good, old-fashioned mutual loathing, rather than Starbharat’s near-constant ~SECRET BROTHERS~ song, is….always amusing. B. R. Chopra (I know, I know, despite its flaws, a whole bunch of its little character moments have stuck with me) has this part during Draupadi’s swayamvar where Arjuna watches Karna string the bow and just…smirks. He seems almost genuinely pleased, because well–of course his rival would be good enough to string the bow. He would expect no less of Karna.* My unpopular opinion about this character
Though Karna admittedly suffers quite a bit, and is unfortunately affected by bigotry, a) there are other characters who suffer just as much if not more and b) in no way does that justify the suffering he inflicts on other characters. It’s the Snape conundrum all over again. * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Look, the only fanon I reliably want from any Mahabharat adaptation is the impossible scene where Duryodhana finds out Karna’s true origins after his death and mourns. I’ve said this before, but the “you [the Pandavas] have no right to perform his last rites! Only I do! He was MY friend!” made quite the impression on baby Avani. * Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
Like many a solar hero before him (I’m thinking Gawain/Gwalchmai from Arthurian myth in particular, but I don’t think that’s the only one), Karna’s strength waxes and wanes with the rise and fall of the sun.
Krishna
* How I feel about this character
A warning: I am admittedly biased, because Krishna is the deity dearest to my heart: but a god dedicated to doing the right thing rather than blindly obeying law and tradition, whose response to a devotee saying “I don’t understand” is not to command them to stop asking questions, but rather to explain again and again, is one that I believe in. * All the people I ship romantically with this character
Krishna/Everyone is….pretty much canon, but I have a soft spot for Krishna/Rukmini* My non-romantic OTP for this character
Krishna & Arjuna (if you don’t ship them) is certainly an option, but *points upwards* I’m Team Krishna(a) forever.* My unpopular opinion about this character
I have to hope that Krishna’s offer to Karna that Draupadi would be his is more of a bluff–or rather, a way of guilting Karna rather than a sincere prediction of what would, or even should, happen. * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.* Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
Krishna’s “women are unreliable, so just go ahead and kidnap my sister instead of proposing” spiel to Arjuna re:Subhadra is honestly tongue-and-cheek and largely because Subhadra begged Krishna to make Arjuna actually get a move on instead of waiting until she got married off against her will. I don’t care that it’s blatantly ignoring canon; but it’s one of the few scenes of Krishna in the Vyasa Mahabharata that don’t fit in with my understanding.
Balarama
* How I feel about this character
I really like Balarama! I feel like he hardly ever gets any attention, and many of the interesting stories/episodes concerning him often get glossed over. * All the people I ship romantically with this character
I’ve started shipping Balarama/Revati something fierce after getting on Tumblr! But consider: she’s literally from another age entirely, and they still find each other! She’s taller and wiser and stronger than he is! They have no son, only a daughter, and he still never marries anyone else!* My non-romantic OTP for this character
Krishna & Balarama snarking at each other is always great, no matter what the adaptation. * My unpopular opinion about this character
Not unpopular, but I suppose not universally accepted: Balarama is the reincarnation of Lakshmana/Shesh Nag, because Balarama trying to enjoy getting to be the big brother in this birth while Krishna continues to be cheeky and do as he pleases is great. * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I would have loved to hear more about Yadava politics than what we get, and definitely even more about Revati and Balarama–there’s hardly any mention of her in the Mahabharata. * Something about them I consider true, even though it’s only my head canon/fanon
Balarama and Krishna have perfected bad cop/good cop (or grumpy raging Yadava/ charming compromising Yadava) to an art. Both of them are perfectly capable of exploiting their reputations for political gain.

Hey there!!! I saw the post asking about dnd character questions if we have them and hey!! I would love to hear an absolute infodump about your dnd characters because I love hearing about characterssss
IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED (under a read more bc its uh. very long)
SO starting off we have Orchid, my true neutral tiefling Ranger/Druid!
Tumblr media
(art by @.spectralfelinae / @.spectralscribbles go check him out!)
- he has a pet swarm of butterflies and can turn into them since he's a circle of the swarm druid (the butterflies look identical to anyone else but he can identify each and every one of them)
- he doesn't speak! he's not mute, but in his culture they just don't talk. i haven't come up with a specific reason yet so if he comes into a campaign ill just let the dm figure that out lmao. he communicates with magic sign-language and if a spell requires verbal components he just whistles and makes bird calls instead
- he's lived in the forest for his whole life so any modern technology is VERY confusing to him and he's probably stabbed a train before
- one day im gonna hide him in a flower patch to ambush a target and its gonna look sick as hell
- personality wise he's very calm and serene, but also super brutal and unfeeling. kinda like Shinobu from Demon Slayer. (though the butterfly motif is unintentional aksjdhask)
- - -
NEXT we have Taliesin, my neutral good Dragonborn Grave Cleric!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- He has a Russian/eastern european accent
- Taliesin (or tallie) used to be a battle medic in the military before the war ended and left him real fucked up.
- He eventually found sanctuary in a temple devoted to the Eternal Shepherd and became an acolyte, eventually becoming head of the temple
- That's also where he found his son, Galahad! He was left at the temple a la baby left on the steps of a church but instead of a baby its an egg and instead of a church its a death temple. Talie was the only one who remotely knew how to take care of an egg so he was put in charge of it.
- Admittedly, Talie had no fuckin clue how to take care of a kid, and a lot of his parenting techniques were probably fucked up in retrospect (teaching galahad to read via obituaries, teaching him math with bones, playing hide and seek in a cemetery, etc) but he genuinely loves his son and everytime i think about them i cry
- Galahad is grown up now and probably doing something in the world that makes talie proud
- It's not super well shown but talie wears skirts/dresses bc pants are a Hassle for dragonborn so he said fuck it
- He also has a pet bearded vulture named Carry it's short for Carrion) she helps him find stray corpses for him to bless and properly bury
- Personality: Taliesin is basically a healing/support main that's too old for this shit and is 👌 this fuckin close to snapping
- - -
Xyraga Takimros! My first ever dnd character and the one i've changed the most over the years. She's a chaotic neutral half-elf rogue
[aight so i don't have recent art of her so uuuhhhhhh imagine there's a picture here]
- she's a dark skinned half-elf with long dark curly hair in a ponytail with a little bit covering her face. she has 3 scars on her face (one going over the bridge of her nose, one over her left eye bisecting the first scar, and another one on the corner of her chin) and yellow eyes.
- She used to be a member of the Courtyard of Miracles, a thieves/smuggler's den that focused on going out and stealing from rich cities to redistribute to their poor community
- she joined the court because her unofficial dad/caretaker was a founding member and she kinda got in because of that
- i have a whole bunch written on the court and how it was run but all you need to know is that xyra was the one who got stolen goods from point A to point B
- Xyra was a prominent member, known for being the fastest runner and the one who's been caught the least
- That's also where she met Bharu her orc husband. he was a bodyguard for her sometimes when they were transporting goods and eventually fell in love
- one day the courtyard is raided and xyra loses bharu in the chaos, so she's on a quest to find her dumbass husband and get the fuck out of dodge
- she also has a tattoo of a roadrunner bc that was her nickname when she still worked for the court (design isnt finalized but thats the Vibes im going for)
Tumblr media
---
Up next is Oni! Oni's a neutral evil tiefling/half-orc/half-demon/????? barbarian/warlock
Tumblr media
(i know the sketch is super rough but it gets the idea across)
- Oni is a half-demon/half-orc who's essentially the antichrist. i'll be honest i'm probably not gonna stat her out like a proper PC but i might make her a BBEG if i ever DM (which is super unlikely but the chance isnt 0%)
- Her patron is her dad and they both loath that fact
- Her entire goal in life is to kill enough gods to gain enough power to kill her dad, since he has her lifeforce in the palm of his hand and can decide on a whim if she dies or not and she's not about that shit
- she looked and grew up like a normal orc until she hit puberty, and then all the demon features came in
- She's like, super tall. even for an orc at about 8 1/2-9ish feet
---
THEN we have Halfey! She's my chaotic good high elf monk/bard
[i uh,,,, dont have an actual picture for her but i have a goofy lil sktch that'll just Have to Do]
Tumblr media
- she's a dark skinned sun elf with a half-shaved head and bright red/pink curly hair
- she says she's 100 but she's actually only 75 years old (like 16 in Elf years)
- originally she and xyra were going to be twins separated at birth but i decided against it bc that was Too Much
- her parents are both high-ranking nobles and he was supposed to grow to be a proper noblewoman and be a bargain chip to marry some rich duke for the sake of alliances or whatever
- she instead grew up loud and rambunctious as hell and was the exact opposite her parents wanted her to be
- eventually they get fed up with her and sent her to live in a monastery in hopes the strict lifestyle would tame her in some way
- that didn't work lmao and she spent the next few decades miserable before the circus came into town and she snuck out to see it
- she fell in love with the general chaos of the circus and ran away with them, getting a job as a trapeze artist /tightrope walker and occasional dancer
---
FINALLY We have Connie! She's a lawful evil fallen aasimar paladin
[uhhhhh no image here, but one day i will]
- she's a pale-skinned aasimar with short wavy blonde hair done in that marilyn monroe hairstyle and has pure white and slightly glowy eyes. she also has a barely-there halo around her head. she's also got a southern belle accent
- her full name is Condemnation Odette Nancy Delilah Elizabeth Maybelle Newman the Third, but her friends call her Connie
- her deity is the first horseman of the apocalypse, Conquest (or Pestilence depending on who you ask) and she does everything in her power to bring on the end times
- tbh she's more of a joke character that i haven't fully thought out yet but she's fun

So I just stumbled upon the umpteenth post on incest, and decided to clarify in the simplest way possible once and for all:
1. Why is incest considered morally wrong
2. Why is incest to be avoided
To answer 1., I need to specify two things: why is incest considered morally wrong here and now, meaning, in our society and in our times. Because if you look back in time you'll find mutliple examples of incest which was totally fine with everyone:
The ever so mentioned Middle-ages noble European dinasties, who frequently married between cousins, uncle and nieces, aunt and nephews
A number of the members of the Ptolemaic dinasty, last but not least the famous Queen Cleopatra who was supposed so hook up with her half-brother
Deities in mythology. In particular in the Greek-Roman mythology, pretty much all deities are related and all want to hook up. Oh and Japanese mythology. Quite possibly other mythologies I don't remember.
Cain and Abel both wanted to marry their sister. In fact, it is said Cain killed Abel precisely over this. Then Abraham, and others, who married nieces.
This clarifies that a mindset on incest varies depending on where and when we were born. As such, statements such as "You don't disapprove incest!!" are much like "You are pro/versus abortion!!": At the end of the day, they depend of one's personal views and education.
Moreover, going over Wikipedia you'll find that:
Most countries in the world allow cousin marriage
Tumblr media
A number of countries allow uncle-niece, aunt-nephew - the first one is much more common though - incest, there's wasn't a graphic on this, it was just me reading the entire Wikipedia page, you're free not to trust my memory and read it yourself.
What is widely not allowed is incest in direct line, which is incest between direct descendants and ancestors, meaning parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, and so on - for Westeros examples, we have Craster and his daughter-wives, which was made even worse by the fact that he was an abuser and condamned his sons to become popsicles. Incest between siblings is also widely illegal today, from the relationship itself being a punishable offense, to the sole marriage being illegal. But it's not illegal everywhere.
The definition of incest according to law varies much from country to country: in some countries it's up to third cousins, in others it considers only direct descendants. This too proves how the mindset varies even more and that you may or may not find people who consider it a taboo.
In many countries where incest, however defined, is illegal, a permission can be asked to marry a close relative - for example in Italy you can turn to a tribunal to obtain permission to marry your aunt/nephew.
Macro-Religions like Catholicism, Hebraism, Hinduism and Islam ban incest. But if you look it up, religions like Catholicism and Islam often granted and grant concessions to marry close relatives - though never in direct line. And then maybe used that same excuse to annul marriages - see Henry VIII of England and his first wife. Not to mention how reading the Ancient Testament you'll find so many examples of incest to make you think that religion simply cared or cared not based simply on what was convenient at the moment.
But this is just a list to exhibit that the where and when of my first question do change the answer. This is a concept called "cultural relativism" in anthropology, which means exactly what you think it would: "our ideas and conceptions are true only so far as our civilization goes." . And our civilization comprehend our society, our family, our education, our country, out history...
So let's talk here and now, which would be today in a average western country: why is incest considered morally wrong?
The answer lies in psychology and anthropology. The so called Westermark effect explains that children who grow up together develop a reverse sexual imprinting, which means that as grown-ups, they tend not to feel sexual attraction towards each other, whether or not they are actually blood-related. This explains why you don't often see adoptive siblings getting married, because they develop a sense of vicinity that excludes sexual attraction and eros and so on. And in it lies also why we as individuals mostly feel incest as "icky": because psychology says that in most cases we don't want to hook up with our siblings. I don't want to hook up with any relative of mine. I'm ready to bet half of you wouldn't as well. Then again exceptions exist, both here and in Westeros, Lannister kids or not.
So this is why some people feel icky about Jaime and Cersei, Jon and Daenerys: because we don't want the same for us. Personally, I'd have no problems with Cersei and Jaime either, if not for the fact that's she's kinda the incarnation of evil and all that follows, because I couldn't care less about what others do, as long as they don't hurt each other or a third party - which Jaime and Cersei sadly do.
But keep this in mind: the Westermark effect doesn't apply to Jon and Daenerys: they did not grow up as siblings or cousin or even remote relatives. The effect doesn't work on amount of DNA shared - let alone they couldn't even know about that in Westeros -, but on having grown up together as family. This is why, even if we teleported Jon in our time and society, he'd have a harder time hooking up with either Arya or Sansa, because despite them sharing less DNA than with Daenerys, they share a sense of "family" that tends to exclude any sexual attraction.
In statistics terms, it's huge bad luck that out of all the people in the world you fall in love with your nephew/aunt, but the point of my explanation is that they fell in love precisely because they don't know.
And also maybe because of the so called "Genetic Sexual Attraction", look it up.
And also because they're both good-looking.
And also because they have similar characters and goals and a steady will to help people.
...
What else?
...
Oh yeah, maybe, just maybe, because they're the fricking song of Ice and Fire and the center of the whole saga - blame Martin not me.
Proceeding to number 2: why is incest to be avoided?
Having already discuss the moral reasonable let's move on to the scientific ones, specifically, genetics: simply put, because inbreeding genetic disorders. One example? Dwarfism. In a realistic world, which Westeros is not, Tyrion's dwarfism can be blamed on his parents being first cousins. Other examples are albinism, fused limbs, microcephaly, misshapen skull, and so on. There's a small island close to Sardinia where all the inhabitants have terrible eyesight, because they are descendants of a small group of people with bad eyesight and kept marrying between each other over years. In the Brazilian village of Araras the same happened, with the difference that here the inhabitants developed a terrible condition that doesn't allow them to stay in the sun. Examples are endless.
Analyzing a Targaryen family tree, which again savvy people on Reddit did, you'd notice that clearly our world's genetics doesn't apply to the Dragon Lords, because if it did, most of the members would be severely malformed and probably wouldn't live long, instead of being the super-human beauties that they are. Leave out Jon and Daenerys, because all their ancestors wouldn't have lived to begin with. For this reason we can infer that a child between him and her shouldn't have particular problems, so the genetics argument doesn't apply here either. And the genetics argument is the only completely impartial and objective counterargument that can be used against incest in our world: all the others are subject to cultural relativism. I hear a lot people stating that Westeros isn't the real world and as such we shouldn't apply our views on it, but they use this argument incorrectly, because they refer to simply liking it or not, when the science itself is different - in a world where winters last for years - and so, to make an hyperbole, you might as well try to apply our science to an alien.
I wrote this as a clarification for people who mindlessly apply standards that don't belong and notice that in all of this I never said "it's a fictional story, you can do as you like", bevause there's no need to come to that.
The argument "you ship Jon and Dany, therefore you support incest" is the stupidest thing on Earth because it all depends on how you define incest, then cultural relativism says you may approve of it or not and no-one can give you shit for it, but most importantly, the Westermark effect assures you that shipping relatives doesn't imply you're shipping yourself with a relative.
It took all of this to simply state: you may, actually, ship whoever you want. An argument that was initiated by Jaime ages ago: "We don't get to choose who we love."

I wrote up a detailed origin story for my D&D character. He's a chaotic neutral Drow Warlock who got swindled into buying magic powers from a Fiend and then used them to run away from home because his mom is a jerk. Now he roams the surface world selling trash to the locals who think his garbage is COOL AND EXOTIC because it came from the Underdark.
Now he has to pay back the Fiend (who he also considers his bff), but it's fine because he's about to join an adventuring guild to take missions for fast cash. I assume that our DM will take it from there!
Full story under the pagebreak 'cause it's a little long and also the other players MIGHT NOT want to see my boy's personal details all at once for the sake of roleplaying. *shrug*
Oh, one last thing: My goal for playing this character is to see if I can play a Dark Elf who isn’t edgy and brooding. I think I also project a lot of my own insecurities and weakness to flattery on him, so maybe we can help each other with that?
Quasaris: Origin Story
-1-
Quasaris was born to the House of Redsilk as the youngest of three siblings, having two older sisters: Lunasta and Celeste. While his sisters were physically fit and had an affinity for magic, Quasaris lacked the strength and wisdom necessary to perform any useful job skills. When Lunasta and Celeste became priestesses of Lolth, Quasaris spent his days in the family mansion, cleaning and taking care of other mundane tasks, or tending to guests at his mother’s lavish parties.
His mother, Lady Crauline, was a wicked old sorceress who kept a distrustful eye on Quasaris at all times, and he suspected that she even sent spiders to spy on him while she was away. It was Crauline who put fear into Quasaris by showing him the crazed Drider that was contained in the depths of the Underdark's dungeons, telling him that the hideous creature had once been her husband--Quasaris' father--transformed into a mindless spider-beast after disrespecting Lolth's priestesses. Although Quasaris began to doubt this story as he grew older, it was enough to make him obedient toward his sisters and mother for many years.
One night, while Quasaris was tending to the household duties alone, a shadowy figure appeared to him. It had no discernible shape, but it was vaguely humanoid and spoke fluent Undercommon.
The figure claimed to be a Fiend of great magical power, but, more importantly, it told Quasaris stories of a world high above their own, a world full of color and opportunity for financial success and social influence without the control of Lolth in every aspect of life. Quasaris was skeptical that Drow could be welcomed in such a place, much less respected enough to become rich and powerful, but the Fiend assured him that the overworlders were a curious folk who adventured for the fun of it, had deep pockets, and loved all things exotic. And what could be more exotic than a reclusive race of Elves who lived deep within the earth? Sure, the Drow had been banished long ago, but things were different now, the Fiend insisted.
Although Quasaris wasn't entirely convinced, he appreciated that this powerful, intelligent Fiend took the time and care to befriend a useless fool like him. The Fiend returned regularly to keep him company on dull, lonely nights, never taking the same form but often bringing small gifts from the surface: seashells, flowers, even once an iridescent beetle the likes of which Quasaris had never even imagined. With each of the Fiend's stories and presents, Quasaris became a little more convinced that maybe there was something to a life on the surface, selling "exotic" trinkets to the locals. But it was all only a grand fantasy, for there was no way Quasaris had the brains or brawn to actually LEAVE the Underdark. The exits were heavily guarded, and surely his mother or sisters would find him out before he even came close. He'd be no match for their magical abilities.
On his 442nd birthday, the Fiend appeared to him with a slice of beautifully decorated cake, and a special offer. The Fiend, generous as he was, could give Quasaris a means to escape: a catalogue of spells, and an orb of pure obsidian from which to cast them, no prior arcane training required. It was a bundle valued at over several million gold pieces, but for his best friend Quasaris (on his birthday of all days), he could give him a special deal of just 1k.
Quasaris didn't have a thousand gold of his own, and didn't think it would be wise to steal from his family's treasury (although the consideration was tempting), but this was all no problem for the Fiend. A contract was drafted, stating that Quasaris could have the discounted 500g orb and 500g spellbook, as well as cast any of its spells for 100g each [per spell level / cantrips 10g] with no money down. Quasaris could then repay the debt at any point in his life, so long as it WAS repaid before his death. In the event that he is unable to do so, well, the Fiend would simply claim Quasaris' soul as compensation.
Appreciative of the great offer, Quasaris signed the contract and used the rented magic to escape that very night.
-2-
Debt: 2k
Business on the surface was harder than Quasaris had anticipated. Most overworlders were out during the day, but the sun hurt his eyes and made his skin ache, so for a while he tried to engage only at night. However, he found that many businesses conducted after sunset were by those even shadier than himself, those far more streetwise and suspicious. He resorted to magic to escape from most trouble, but this only made his debt grow, and without a steady income to counter it, things could get tricky in the future.
He regularly communicated with the Fiend via the Orb, finding his Patron to be very patient and understanding. And, of course, remarkably generous, allowing him access to even more powerful spells after a time.
As months went on, Quasaris learned to conduct business in the shade, how to persuade his marks to buy common Underdark goods (junk from his old home, really; a broken fork here, a roll of wrinkled sheets there) for an inflated price. The money was good, but he would run out of stock eventually, and he still had the occasional troubles that were most easily avoided via magical means, so he would have to consider an alternate method of work when the time came.
-3-
Quasaris eventually learned not to stay in any one town too long while doing his business. It was safer to have fresh customers and less potential enemies or law enforcement attention. Not to mention, it seemed that some folk still regarded the Drow as dangerous, evil people.
One night, while traveling between towns, Quasaris was jumped by bandits on the road. Although he could have quickly dispatched the gang with some violent spells, he could talk a good pitch by now, and decided to give it a shot (and besides that, his spellcasting ability had been nearly exhausted earlier that day).
By some luck, he not only talked the bandits out of robbing and killing him, but also convinced them to purchase a number of his remaining trinkets in exchange for their treasure stash. The stash would have put him close to paying off his debt with the Fiend, but it turned out that it had all been stolen from a local village, and when Quasaris showed up there to pawn the items for gold, he was regarded as a hero for retrieving the goods. He was, therefore, forced to turn it over to the villagers, or risk looking like a thief himself.
It was shortly after this incident that Quasaris would be welcomed into the Silver Swords guild. With nothing but one last trinket and 15g, the opportunity to take on adventuring jobs for money could not have come at a better time.
Current Debt: 5k
- Other Notes! -
Quasaris has NOT seen his Patron Fiend's true form, nor does he know its true name. He just sort of refers to him as "Fiend" or "Friend" or sometimes "Benefactor," but like in a super ironic tone like when you and your pals are all in on a joke.
Whether the Fiend is more interested in money or Quasaris' soul is something I want to leave up to the DM's discretion, unless it isn't gonna be relevant to the campaign.
Quasaris has somehow been on the surface for months without seeing a single spider. He doesn't think they exist outside of the Underdark. Like. At all. He's gonna lose his composure when he finally sees one, I just know it.
Quasaris kinda-sorta has a crush on his Patron Fiend. Not in a romantic "I want to make out with you right now immediately" way (although I guess he'd consider kissing him if they met in person?), but he's just very smitten by the fact that the Fiend gave a damn about him in the first place and has just been SO NICE AND FRIENDLY AND GOOD AND QUASARIS YOU FOOL HE'S PLAYING YOU LIKE A LYRE. SPEAKING OF WHICH--
Quasaris is really good at playing the Lyre (self-taught), but music wasn't really useful where he's from so he never considered that to be a special skill. He still brought it with him to the surface with the other trinkets, but he plays it sometimes and isn't sure if he wants to sell it. (This possibly opens up an idea to multiclass him as a Bard, depending on how things go)
Quasaris wanted to be a priest when he was young, until he was basically told LOL, BOYS CAN'T BE PRIESTS OF LOLTH. He wouldn't rule out retiring into priesthood after his wealthy businessman days are over, assuming he found a deity that appealed to and accepted him. (I also love the idea of multiclassing him as a Cleric if he meets the requirements for that, or just imagining it as the ideal happy ending for my boy).
Quasaris never knew his dad, but he's like 70% sure that the Drider wasn't really him and 40% REALLY REALLY HOPING THAT THE DRIDER WASN'T ONCE HIS DAD.
Quasaris' sisters are twins and are about 7 years older than he is. They all got along when they were little, but they sort of fell out of touch with him once they became Priestesses.
His full name is technically Quasaris Redsilk, but he doesn't use his family name unless he has to, or he just shortens it to "Reds."
One of the reasons Quasaris has trouble paying off his debt is because he loves food. Like, a lot. He loves surface world meals and always asks what the different dishes are called so that he can use them as the verbal components to his spells (I have every intention of yelling "fillet mignon" when I cast something).
Quasaris isn't SUPER romantic/sexual, but he does think most Tieflings are cute and they make him a little flustered. Most of his emotional/flirty energy is directed toward his Patron Fiend, though.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? I'd be thrilled to explain anything further!

Running With The Wolves 30-Day Witchcraft Challenge
I wanted to create my own 30-day witchcraft challenge. I don't know if anyone is going to do it, but I thought it would at least be interesting to create. This 30-day witchcraft challenge is going to be extensive. It will ask multiple questions per day that pertain to a certain theme that has to do with your practice along your path. Feel free to do one, multiple, or all of the questions for a single day. I have built the challenge, so that overachievers can have more to do, and those who don't have as much time can still participate. This will also allow you to skip over certain questions if you don't have an answer for them, or that they are not applicable to you. Multiple questions  allow there to be longer responses, so the challenge can be a little bit more challenging. This 30-day witchcraft challenge will be built for beginners, intermediates, and experts. This is so the witchlings can learn from the experienced practitioners, and the witchlings will be able to share their experiences. Allowing us all to learn from each other. I also want to see your guyses responses to questions, if you do take the time to do this challenge, so I would like you to use the hashtag #runningwithwolves. This way I, and others can see what you come up with, and learn from the information that you have to share. You do not have to start this challenge at the beginning of a month, and are allowed to started whenever you feel like it. So I hope you enjoy, and participate in running with the wolves.
Running With The Wolves 30-day witchcraft challenge, day questions:
1) Day 1 Humble Beginnings
"The sun begins to set, and a new beginning takes hold, one that is born from the darkness." - The Wolf Of Antimony
We all had to begin somewhere. Some beginnings might be farther away than others, but it is still important to take a look at how we began our practice, and started walking down this path. How long have you been practicing for? Do you feel like that is a long time? Why did you start practicing, and what did you hope to gain from it? How old were you when you started practicing? What was your first exposure to magick, and when did you figure out that magick was a real thing? What was the first spell you casted?
Take time to think about the beginning of your practice, and remember how it felt to begin practicing.
2) Day 2 Nurturing Knowledge Of The Earth
"We are part of the cycle of life, we are fed by the plants, and animals of the earth, and one day they will feed upon us." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Being able to grow, learn, and experience are wonderful things of this path. We all set forth, and grasped knowledge from different sources learning what we needed to in the moment, so that we could continue walking our path. Where have you got a lot of your information from? Have you ever interacted with misinformation? Have you ever had a mentor, or been mentored by somebody? Would you ever think of mentoring? Which do you believe has better information books, or the internet? What is one piece of information you think every practitioner should know? Do you practice your craft daily?
Take time to think about where your information came from, and how it has allowed your to practice to grow, and evolve.
3) Day 3 Majestic Creation
"These hands can destroy, but from the destruction they will create." - The Wolf Of Antimony
One of our greatest abilities is to create. There is so much that you can set forth into the world, if you set your mind to it. What magickal things have you created? Do you have a book of shadows, or any other form of magical journal, or book? Have you ever created a servitor, tulpa, or any other form of thought-form? Do you create your own tailsmans, spells, and rituals? Have you ever thought about creating a new form of magick that doesn't presently exist? Have you ever thought of creating a magickal school? Is there anything that you have wanted to create?
Take time to think about, and to be grateful for all the things that you have been able to create, and bring into the world.
4) Day 4 Elements Of Empowerment, And Strength
"You must find the strength to continue on, for if you stop now you will surely die." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Even in the darkest of places, we find things that pushes forward. These things become connected to us, and we will bring them along on the journey. What element are you associated with? Have you ever stopped practicing your craft, and gone on a hiatus? What inspires you to continue on practicing? Is there anything that you are greatly associated with, or that you see as your aesthetic? What gives your practice meaning to you? Do you believe you would be the same without your path?
Take time to think about what empowers you, and pushes you forward along your path.
5) Day 5 Change In The Wind
"Winds that howl like wolves, so powerful that it can push you off your path, and onto another one."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
Change is a very important thing it allows us to evolve our practices, even though sometimes we may not be ready for it. From being on this path have any of your beliefs, and/or understandings changed, and how has it affected your life? Are you open to change, and do you believe change is necessary? How has the magickal community changed since you have been a part of it? Are you a traditional practitioner, or do you practice newer forms of magick such as pop culture magick, and tech magick, if so what has your experience been with these forms of magick? Is there anything that you used to believe in, that you don't believe in now?
Take time to think about how you have changed from the time you were very young, and how you have grown for it.
6) Day 6 The Love Of The Pack
"One may not last long, if they stand alone, but with a group to watch their back, they will go on to do great things."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
There is strength in numbers, and we can accomplish great things when we work respectively with each other. What is your favorite part about the magickal community here on Tumblr? What is the worst thing about the magical community here on Tumblr? Are you part of any other form of magical Community, or group, and if not would you like to be? Are you a solitary practitioner? Do you believe it is more powerful to work in a group? Do you know your spirit guides? Do you have any spirit companions , if so tell me about your experience with them? Do you have an animal familiar, if so tell me about your experience with them? Are you a spirit spouse?
Take time, and think about all the wonderful connections you have made, and how they have allowed you to grow on your path.
7) Day 7 The Spirit Of The Forest
"The one who does not go searching for truth will not find any, and they will believe whatever they are told." - The Wolf Of Antimony
We are all on our own journeys searching for our own personal meanings. We are spiritual, and powerful beings searching the far corners of the cosmos in hopes of discovering what we are looking for. What religion are you, if any? What type of witch do you consider yourself? Are there any deities that you worship, or work with? Where do you believe we go when we die? What do you think your purpose for living is? How can you be sure you know, what you know? Do you consider yourself to be spiritual, religious, or maybe even a combination of both? Do you believe there is such things as good, and evil, and if so what do you believe is good, and what do you believe is evil?
Take time to think about the meaning that you have given yourself, and how it fits into your practice, and life.
8) Day 8 The Objective Mind
"The mind is the only thing we can truly know that is real, everything outside the mind is just a happy illusion." - The Wolf Of Antimony
The mind is a very important part of our being, it allows us to perceive, and interact with the world around us. Would you rather live in a happy fantasy, or a true, but cruel reality? Is there anything unusual that you believe in? When does unverified personal gnosis (UPG), become Confirmed Gnosis (CG)? Do you use the spelling magick, or magic, and why? Do you believe science will ever prove the concept of magick? Do you believe science, and magick can work together? Do you believe magick has any objective qualities? Do you believe that there is a rational, and logical way to explain spirituality in magick? What would you do if you found out this was all mass hysteria, or simply the placebo effect, and nocebo effect?
Take time to look at your objectivity, and subjectivity your beliefs and practices.
9) Day 9 The Laws Of The Wild
"Things that do not follow the rules can be punished for it, things that try not to follow the laws learn quickly that they cannot change them." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Control creates order, and the lack of control leads to chaos. Having a good amount of control, and understanding in your practice allows it to flourish. Do you live by any code of ethics, or morals? How do you feel about cursing, are you for it, or against it, and why? How you feel about love spells, are you for it, or against it, and why? Do you believe there are certain magicks that shouldn't be done? Do you believe that magick has any laws, or limitations?  Are there any universal laws you believe in such as the Law of Attraction, Karma, or the Hermetic principles of the kybalion? Do you believe there's anyone that can not practice Magick?
Take time to look at your morals, and ethics, and your understandings of what can be done.
10) Day 10 The Wandering Wizard
"Sometimes you need a change of scenery, so that you can think more clearly." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Exploring, and experiencing new things will allow us to gain appreciation, and understanding of those things especially when it comes to magick, and witchcraft. What forms of magick have you studied, and practice? What are some forms of magick you do not believe should be explored? What are some of the most interesting things that you have ran into on your journey, so far? Have you ever changed traditions, or religions? In what type of environment do you feel the most witchy? Is there anything that you would want to experience that you haven't been able to yet?
Take time to think about where you have explored, and where you might want to explore next.
11) Day 11 Instincts Of The Wild
"Quiet your mind, and you will hear your true self truly speak."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
Your instincts allow you to get insights into the world around you through your connection to your spiritual abilities. Do you have any psychic abilities such as clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, or claircognizance? Are you empathic in any way, if so what has your experience been with it? Have you ever done any form of kinesis, or attempted any form of kinesis, if so how did it go? Do you ever have prophetic dreams, or visions? Do you do any form of energy work, or Reiki? Do you ever get déjà vu? Do you use any form of Divination in your practice, if so what is it, and how does it fit into your practice?
Take some time to focus on your psychic, and energetic abilities.
12) Day 12 Follow By Example
"Take time to observe the other animals of the forest, they will teach you things through their actions." - The Wolf Of Antimony
If they fall help them up, and know that they will do the same. Lead by example you never know when someone will be looking up to you for inspiration. Is there anybody that you look up to, or admire? What is your favorite quality that can be found in people? Who is your favorite occult practitioner? What type of music gets you into a witchy mood? Is there a place you draw the inspiration for your craft from? In what type of environment do you think of your best ideas? What do you to inspire the witches that are just starting their practice? What does inspiration mean to you?
Take a look at how you can inspire others to do good work, and also work on finding something that can inspire you.
13) Day 13 The Shadow Of Night
"If you are comfortable in the shadows, and the light, you will truly have nothing to fear." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Do not hide from the unknown, or the darkness, but understand it, and you will grow to new heights. Are there aspects of yourself that you are hiding? What are your biggest fears? Do you have any small pet peeves that you know of? What do you believe your worst personality trait is, and why? Do you ever have doubts about your magickal practice? Have you ever done shadow work, if so what was your experience with it? If there was a dark version of you what would they be like? What would the perfect you be like?
Take time to think about all the shadowy aspects of yourself, and what you may be hiding in your subconscious.
14) Day 14 The Broken Chains
"Run towards the horizon, and you will be free." - The Wolf Of Antimony
At the end of the day this is your practice. It is personal to you, and nobody can take it away from you. Is there anything in your practice that nobody else does? Has your magickal practice ever been restricted? What kind of witch do you want to become? What are some magickal practices you want to start learning? Do you have any unpopular opinions? What does freedom mean to you?
Take time to be grateful for your freedom to practice your practice.
15) Day 15 Connection By Blood
"Your blood is powerful, like crimson fire that flows through you." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Your connection to your family can be very important depending on the practitioner, and is a bond that will be good to facilitate. Does your family know that you practice magick? How does your family feel about you practicing? Does any of your family members practice magick? Do you work with your ancestors, if so what has been your experience working with them? Are you connected with the land that you live on? Do you use blood in your practice, if so how? Do you practice a very cultural, and traditional path?
Take time to reflect on your relationship with your family, your ancestors, and the land.
16) Day 16 The Lone Wolf
"In solitude I learn to watch my own back, and become stronger for it, though it is a lonely existence." - The Wolf Of Antimony
There are some things that you can only learn by yourself, and these things will find you when you are ready to learn them. Are you any form of divinekin, otherkin, fictionkin, or other form of alter-human, if so how has it impacted your life? Are you a multiple system, or do you have headmates, if so how has it impacted your life? Are you any form of energetic vampire, or sanguine vampire, if so what has your experience been with it? Are you a starseed, Indigo child, crystal child, and/or rainbow child, or any other form of spiritual psychic child. Have you found any of your past lives, what are they, and what have you learned from them?
Take time to look at yourself.
17) Day 17 Thoughts Of The Future
"Plan for the future, and it will one day be your present." - The Wolf Of Antimony
We will all become better practitioners as time goes on. There will always be more to learn, so go out, and learn as much as you can. What do you believe the next step on your path is? What type of practitioner do you want to be in 5 years? Do you believe you will raise your kids with the craft, if so how will you do so? How do you believe you will change in the future? How do you believe the magickal community will change in the future?
Think about your future, and what you can do to better it.
18) Day 18  The Welfare Of The Earth
"If you treat the earth with kindness, it will treat you with kindness in return." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Helping others is an important thing inside, and outside the magickal community. In any form of way do you help other practitioners in the magical community? Is there anything that you provide the magickal community with such as spells, rituals, information, tarot spreads, or anything else that you can think of? Is it okay for new beginner witches to come ask you questions? Do you ever go, and ask other witches questions? What advice would you have given yourself when you first started out on this path? What would you say are the essentials to beginning witchcraft?
Take time to think about how you can better the community, and the people that are in it.
19) Day 19 The Self Of Yourself
"Every piece of you is important, cherish everything, and it will never let you down." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Some pieces of yourself you will take for granted, but you must remember that they are still an important part of you. Do you have a magickal name? What is your favorite color? What is your favorite animal? What is your zodiac signs? What’s your favourite phase of the moon? What is your favourite way to perform magick? What is your favorite magical tool? What is your favorite crystal? What is your favorite herb? What are your lucky numbers? What is your favorite myth, legend, or folktale? Do you have any other favorites, or things that are a part of you?
Take time, and think about the parts of you that usually go unnoticed.
20) Day 20 Two Sides Of The Same Coin
"Focus, and you will be able to see the Universe dance with itself." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Align your balance, and become steady, and grounded. Do you believe in masculine, and feminine energies, or the concept of Yin, and Yang? Do you use the terms black, white, and gray witch, and do you consider yourself to be one? Are you more comfortable in chaos, or order? Are you more comfortable working with fire, or water? Are you more comfortable working with earth, or air? Is your practice on the lighter side, or the darker side? Do you work with aspects of the God, and the goddess, which one do you work with more?
Take time to think of the dualism in the universe.
21)  Day 21 The Hold Of The Universe
"We are all connected, and we are one thing experiencing a multitude of different realities." - The Wolf Of Antimony
We all have our own understanding of what connects us. Do you believe in astrology or use it in your practice? Do you have a concept of spiritual energy? Do you believe everything has a spirit? Do you believe in the soul, and what do you believe it is? Do you believe in the concept of collective consciousness? Do you believe in parallel universes, and other dimensions? Do you believe in higher planes of existences, and what are your names for them? What are your definitions of a dimension, a plane of existence, a realm, and a universe? What do you believe the highest form of existence an entity can experience is?
Take time to think about the universe and how it is connected together, and what role you might play in all of it.
22) Day 22 How Do You Turn This On
"Learn the ins-and-outs of the microcosm, and you will understand the macrocosm."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
Sometimes pragmatism is all a practitioner can count on, because when it works, it works. When something works, do we need to know how it works? How do you believe magick works? Do different forms of magick work differently? Can something even be true, if it doesn't work?
Take time to be grateful for your practice, and that it works for you.
23) Day 23 Insatiable Curiosity
"They watch from the forest, learning all that they can?"  - The Wolf Of Antimony
Curiosity is what allows us to go searching, it all depends on where it will lead you. Is there anything that you don't understand that you would like to understand? Is there anything that you are wondering about, or have questions about? Was there anything that you learned that was hard to wrap your mind around it first? Has your practice, become less confusing now that you know more?
Take time to become curious in new things.
24) Day 24  This Is My Sword, And This Is My Shield
"Allow your shield to defend you, until you are able to get in a hit with your sword." - The Wolf Of Antimony
At times one must learn to put up defenses, and to fight if they have to. What type of protection methods do you use? Do you think it is necessary to cast a circle when you do spell work or any magical working? What type of cleansing methods do you use? What type of banishing methods do you use? Have you ever had to banish an entity? Have you ever cursed anyone? Have you ever been cursed? When do you believe it is okay to attack someone with magick?
Take time to think about your defense, and your offense.
25) Day 25 Look Inside
"Your soul is like a fire that is turned up to 11."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
By looking inside you will be able to see, what usually remains hidden. What is the biggest thing you were able to achieve through your practice? Do any of you have a mental illness, and how does it affect your magick practice? Would you ever give up on this path that you are walking? What are you passionate about? What do you seek to have control over? What does your energy feel like? What do you know a lot about?
Take time to look at yourself, and do you like what you see?
26) Day 26 Constructs Of The Physical
"We may be more than our bodies, but we are still physical." - The Wolf Of Antimony
The physical world can help us interact with the spirit world, if we have the right tools for the job. Do you collect anything? What type of magickal items do you have?  Do you have a shrine, or altar, if so tell me about it? What is the most money you have ever spent on a magickal item? How many books are magickal subjects do you own, and which one is your favorite? Do you own any holy books or religious scriptures? What is the most makeshift tool you've ever used in ritual?
Take time to appreciate the physical things that you have.
27) Day 27 The Guidance Of Nature
"The people that have come, and gone before you, live on inside of you." - The Wolf Of Antimony
People have been shaping these practices for a long time, try to understand them, and their understanding. What is your opinion on Aleister Crowley? What is your opinion on John Dee, and Edward Kelly? What is your opinion on Gerald Gardner? What is your opinion on Nostradamus? What is your opinion on Peter J. Carroll?  What is your opinion on Austin Osman Spare? What is your opinion on Silver RavenWolf? What is your opinion on Scott Cunningham? What is your opinion on Anton LaVey? Do you have any other opinions on any other practitioners?
Take time to think about other people who have inspired the craft before you.
28) Day 28 The Gift Of The Moon
"She watches overhead, lighting up the night sky, while caring for her children of the shadows."  - The Wolf Of Antimony
Our abilities allow us to walk between the worlds, and transcend planes of existences, and time, if we so choose to take advantage of it. Do you use meditation in your practice? Do you use mindfulness in your magickal practice? Can you astral project, or astral travel, if so tell me about it? Do you lucid dream, or Journey? Do you communicate with spirits, if so how do you do it? Have you ever invoked or evoked an entity?
Take time to transcend the realm, and walk between worlds.
29) Day 29 The Running Of The Wolves
"You will have to use everything that you learned in order to keep up with the wolves when they run, only the strong will make it far." - The Wolf Of Antimony
Where do you believe your strength comes from? What keeps you determined? What would it take in order to break your willpower? Do you believe your body is healthy, and strong, why, or why not? Do you believe your mind is healthy and strong, why, or why not? Do you believe your spirit is healthy, and strong, why, or why not? Who can you trust to stand by you, and help you down your path? What do you believe threatens your path, if anything? How will you be stronger tomorrow?
Take some time to think about how strong you are.
30) Day 30 The End, And The New Beginning
"The sun must come up eventually, and when it does the hunt will be over, and you will be stronger than the day before." - The Wolf Of Antimony
It may be the end, but this is your new beginning. Did you enjoy this challenge? Did you learn something about yourself, or at least question something you knew? Is there any way that you believe this challenge could be improved? Do you have any final thoughts?
Take some time to rest, and recuperate after the challenge that you have completed.

SHADOW OF WHAT THE FUCK???
GUYS I THINK I DID IT AGAIN. (Though I'm probably again, not the first to notice this).
I shit you not, I was watching a YouTube video about bad baby names and one of the names that came up was "Nimrod" and Jesus I thought about how bad that must be to be called "stupid" from birth, but then they mentioned it was a Biblical name, which is a popular trend, and I paused, wondering how when none of my Bible studies in my younger years mentioned Nimrod. Then I realized something else.
Nimrod backwards is "Dormin". I freaked out and started looking. Grant me this, I'm at work and only have a small amount of research, but bear with me.
Nimrod is said to have been a great king back in the early days of the book if Genesis and such, and he is descended from Noah himself, so the world was cleansed by flood only to repopulate and feel corruption once again. Nimrod himself has never been proven to be a SINGLE historical figure, but a COLLECTIVE NAME FOR MANY KINGS OF THE ANCIENT MESOPOTAMIAN VALLEY.
What is Dormin? A collective entity of powerful but mysterious beings of many names.
Nimrod's name originally came to mean a great hunter before God, but the interpretation means more "a hunter opposed to God". "God" in this case being the deity order that follows Wander to the forbidden lands worships as opposed to Dormin, the old "false" god, which many theories have pointed to about religion and comparing Dormin to Cerrnunos and Pan becoming the modern Devil.
Nimrod ruled over many lands (the forbidden land has so, so many environments) and even created the tower of Babel, which may be reflected in the great shrine of light where everything focuses. It's also stated that Nimrod's story is happening sometime around the end of Babylonian times, which could parallel the fact that as Babylon fell, so too, did the forbidden lands, only not because of the Persians this time. It is believed he/they built/ruled many cities within those lands.
It's also worth noting that Nimrod, who turned from the God of his father and grand father, etc, was often depicted fighting with the kingdoms under Abraham and other we known followers of the Hebrew God--in this case it would be Dormin's fight (and subsequent sealing) against the religious order that sort of parallels this, like Dormin broke away from the "true" path and became like a "fallen angel", founding his own land with his own customs that fly in the face of mainstream religion, even going so far as to twist the laws of nature to his favor. This isn't unlike Judeo-Christian fear and misunderstanding of pagan and polytheistic religion (Dormin is a multientity and often gets represented as a pagan motif) and the stories of fracturing the laws of nature to resurrect the dead and kill the immortal--which of course is okay with God when he does it because it's God (or his *illegitimate* son) doing the reviving, not every other mortal trying to rescue their spouse by walking into the underworld--or making a contract with the devil. That's just blasphemy.
That's just one interpretation though.
Others say Nimrod is the father of Abraham and thus the origin of the Hebrew people, which changes the meaning to that of how the world turned from polytheism and gods of physical things they can see (sun/light worship usually being a big focus) and touch, to a single (or at least different) untouchable deity of worship that eventually overtook it's predecessor in the minds of the people. This makes sense when you consider the events of Shadow, Ico and now Trico are all believed to be connected and within the same universe, in some capacity. (Shadow and Ico canonically, Trico by speculation). All it would take is one heretic to point and say "black magic" while rationalizing that any power that can revive the dead at a COST and animate those which were never alive to begin with must be EVIL, and get a crowd going to eventually divide the masses.
Look what happened with Pharaoh and Moses.
So the people began to doubt and fear this entity which claims to control light but appears as shadow, gives promises of life but at a high cost, and give them something that loves unconditionally, that is whatever form you desire it to be, and gives without asking for anything except love, devotion and/or singular worship. Sounds pretty good to the desperate and greedy, so they leave the lands if Dormin for this new way, and Dormin is naturally pissed, but this new order --who either have a deity's blessing or know how to manipulate Dormin's old teachings --split him into pieces and sealed him so he couldn't draw anyone away.
Nimrod pulled away from his family's beliefs and established his own, only for his children to turn back to their true God, and eventually Babel and it's tower fell under the might of God, taking with it his symbol of power.
It's getting hard to explain a lot of the parallels now that work is picking up, but it's worth it to note this as well:
Nimrod, and those entities associated, are attributed as the origin of fire (light) and IDOL worship.
They invented the idea of praying to statues in place of gods.
What happened to Dormin? Stone idols that became connected to his many faces and parts --I doubt they had time to make statues for all the colossi, so it makes more sense that each of Dormin's selves we're a patron deity of a region, with cities and architecture built under their theme, but linked by shrines made alike to represent the whole of Dormin being the same, and the statues we're erected in his main temple as part of the religious symbolism he had, with priests to interpret his will. When he was sealed, each part either took on or was forced to have the shape of the idol to which they were attributed and trapped in the regions they were assigned, their mind either separated in the temple or speaking from within their confinements, while their power gives the artificial constructs life.
This ended up sounding more like a Dormin theory than an exposition about what I read about king Nimrod, but there it is, sort of. I'll probably come back to this later...

(   the social hierarchy in high school is brutal. i’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that, unless you were homeless in your teenaged years and couldn’t afford the oh-so-wonderful experience that came with being shoved in to lockers and whispered about behind your back   -   not that that ever happened to me, of course. you don’t need me to tell you that i, by some miracle, landed a seat with the social elite. they looked at me and saw a pretty girl with an unfortunate upbringing [ note, my upbringing was awesome so fuck you very much, casey van houten ] - but people liked me, which was their own mistake. all it took was a smile, or a nice word, and i had them literally eating out of the palm of my hand... it just made apate’s job a hell of a lot easier. you wouldn’t believe the shit teenagers in new york city get up to. they’re a journalist’s wet dream, except legal..   )  -  pg. 97, what a cliché
character alignment
neutral evil - a neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. she is out for herself, pure and simple. she sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. she has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. on the other hand, she doesn’t have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. the criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil. some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. most often, such villains are devoted to evil deities or secret societies. the common phrase for neutral evil is "true evil." neutral evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents pure evil without honour and without variation.
four temperaments
you are chloric
four elements
you are fire ! fire is the element of will-power, courage, and vision. fire is an active, focused, goal-oriented element. it is courageous, bold, strong-willed, passionate, ambitious, and fiercely dedicated. fire insists on always moving onward and upward, always boldly going somewhere. it needs a goal, a direction, a dream to pursue. when given a noble goal, nothing is more majestic than fire as it breaks through all obstacles, transcends all boundaries, and forges ahead through all hardships to make dreams into reality. fire has a strong sense of justice, honour, and integrity. fire is the spark of inspiration, flashes of deep insight, and bold visions for the future. it is creativity, plans, goals, intuition, patterns, archetypes, and the sense of a cosmic driving purpose. fire is passion, so apathy is a foreign concept to it. fire has strong opinions and beliefs about pretty much everything. this passion carries over into all areas of life, whether it is work, school, hobbies or personal relations. there is no more fiercely dedicated friend, lover, or enemy than fire. fire can be the warm-hearted fireplace to give warmth to the weary, the torch to give light and direction in darkness, the sun that brings life and light to the world, the promethean fire that inspires invention and science, the forge that drives industry onward, or the raging fire that annihilates every enemy in its path. it has such tremendous mental and emotional energy that other elements often feel overwhelmed. however, just like physical fire without fuel turns to ash, so fiery people sink into deep, restless depression when they lose their drive and have no dream and no goal to pursue. also, fire’s single-minded zeal can at times turn into arrogance and a tendency to belittle and devalue anything or anyone that stands in the way of fire’s goal. immature fire can also have issues with anger, harshness, being judgmental, bossiness, hasty decisions, and being excessively competitive. intellectually, fire is goal-oriented. so long as the learning in question is related to one of fire’s goals or passions, fire devours knowledge like kindling. fire always asks “why.” it quickly grasps deep and complicated concepts, easily integrating the new information into its mental structure for how the world works and how best to achieve its goals. of course, if the information is viewed as useless, then it is quickly disregarded and forgotten. it is drawn to big ideas, grand theories, and deeply desires to understand why the universe works the way it does. also, fire is essentially structured and task-oriented. it loves order and efficiency. fire’s only intellectual weakness is its great focus. in its single-minded desire to accomplish what it sees as good and worthwhile, fire can easily miss important things that it erroneously consigned to the “irrelevant information” pile. however, no element is more intelligent than any other. it is merely a different pattern of thinking. emotionally, fire is definitely extroverted. fire has strong feelings, but also is very much concerned with honour and reputation. fire likes to think of itself as strong and as a leader. so fire may often hide and bottle-up any emotions it sees as “weak.” for instance, fire rarely admits to being sad, hurt, afraid, lonely, or depressed. this can cause those feelings to intensify and cause more problems. happiness, confidence, and anger on the other hand are emotions that fire is much more likely to express. that anger, of course, is fire’s negative emotional tendency. fire can’t stand anything it views as evil or unjust, but often is equally angered by inefficiency, stupidity, or weakness.
functions ;- extroverted thinking, introverted intuition, extroverted intuition, and introverted thinking core strengths ;- fire is brave, bold, ambitious, strong-willed, energetic, charismatic, honest, loyal, just, honourable, dedicated, idealistic, independent, creative, and passionate. weaknesses ;- when immature, fire might be arrogant, angry, harsh, have judgmental tendencies, be hasty, impulsive, restless, bossy, rebellious, excessively competitive, and too focused. traits ;- fire might be curious, adventurous, communicative, socially skilled, orderly, structured, strong, fair-minded, rational, and dependable.
hogwarts house
congratulations! you have been sorted into slytherin, the house of ambition, determination, and cunning
IF THEY KNOW ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL ;- victoria does know about the supernatural world. as the editor of BITE. mag, she was brought in to the loop by noah bordeaux himself after she accidentally stumbled across his secret several years ago. she doesn’t think much different about the species themselves, though she is obviously aligned with the vampires due to her involvement in BITE. inc - since victoria is a human, she is unable to tell the difference between another human and someone supernatural, unless she’s previously met them before. since she’s closer to the vampires, she has picked up on some tells but she wouldn’t outright ask someone if they’re not-human. that would be weird.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER’S THOUGHTS ABOUT IMMORTALITY? ;- she doesn’t really have much of an opinion about immortality itself. it’s an interesting concept and she wouldn’t be opposed to taking it if offered. it does intrigue her though, all that history experienced first hand. but other than that, she’s indifferent.
WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER’S OPINION ON MAGIC? ;- it would have it’s uses, but victoria doesn’t know much about the craft beyond what the bordeaux’s have shared. as such, she hasn’t developed much of an opinion on it right now.
HERE’S A SCENARIO ;- the most obvious choice is clearly “vampire” - it’s already an option that she’s considered but only if it were offered to her, otherwise she’s more than content to remain human. it would just be both easier and make the most sense, considering her affiliation.
