based on Tanaka's account of the year, Daichi + Asahi + Suga were probably pretty much running the place by the time he showed up (at least in terms of passion/spirit)

However, i like to think that this wasnt "oh Daichi's such a natural leader he just fell into the roll" but rather "this 16 year old has two goons and is now Kurokawa's problem" because Suga and Asahi attached to him like ducklings to their mom and Daichi has <2 braincells on a good day.
