Part 2 of my ace contemplations - Part 1 can be found here - or more like: more whining, haha. Sorry.

First off something more general: I'm happy about the responses I got on the original post, but I think it's a bit sad that there isn't a hashtag or something for people who want and need the support of the aspec community here on Tumblr (without having to join a special forum or sth). Because it seems that while the community is quite active, it's mostly for sharing memes and snappy textposts and stuff, and less about more helpful things and discussions. I'm not saying the memes etc are wrong and shouldn't be a part of it too, but idk, I just wish there would be more of an actual community bond, if that makes sense? To help the people who aren't yet at the stage where they can view their identity as something great, people who are still struggling and are reliant on online communities for that kind of help.

Because for all the talk about the very active Tumblr aspec community...I personally haven't seen and benefitted much of it, apart from the memes etc. And I hope I'm not the only person who don't just want to agree with meme posts and would wish for more. Or am I just unfortunate? Looking in the wrong places? (In short, where are the nice supportive ace people of Tumblr? I'm desperate here...well, kind of.)

Something related to the books I mentioned in the original post:

these books are all written from such an US-centric, university-educated and creative business viewpoint. And that's just not my world at all, as an mostly unemployed European with crappy education.

Like, one time it was mentioned that aces always look out for each other and how great that is. And yeah, sure. It is. It would be great, but what about the people who aren't part of that lucky network or community? People who possibly haven't met another aspec person in real life? They are missing that kind of support, and maybe it would be the one thing that would make everything easier.

Another thing: I found the probably supposed to be inspirational stories from other aces in the books rather disheartening. Yeah, fine, so person XY found their perfect partner by luck, despite whatever made them think it would never work out, yadda yadda. Good for them, but that's not gonna happen to me, right? I'm not gonna strike that jackpot and will find someone who accepts me as I am. Maybe I'm just a really, really spiteful person, but stories like that don't inspire me or show me what's possible for me personally in any way.

Well, yeah, I never encountered that. Like, truly never. That's one thing where I'm very ace: I don't get what's supposed to be sexy about a (mostly) naked body. I understand a appeal of a open top button and bit of chest being visible or something like that (lol that sounded so stupid), but the body being in full view? Nah man, put on your shirt again before you catch a cold, lol. (And it's not just guys actually, but people of all genders, if I'm honest.) I should probably add that I absolutely don't mind seeing anything like that, it just doesn't do anything for me.

I guess my takeaway from all the reading I did isn't like for other people who don't feel wrong or broken anymore when they find out there are other aces out there. Even after knowing a lot about it I still feel like some crucial part of me is missing, and I could be more than what I am if that were possible. But then again, there isn't really a possibility for change, so I need to do my best to accept this. I just wish I had it easy one single time...why is basically everything about me so hard to accept? lol

Idk, but if I ever manage to convince myself that inevitably dying alone one day (and spending the time until then alone too) is a good thing, then I'm sure I'll be able to do anything. Now I only need to figure out how to convince myself and that's where it gets difficult, lol.

Being both aspec and too dumb/awkward to make friends is such a curse tbh 😓 And I can't even become a crazy cat lady because I'm bad with animals too, ugh...

In connection with the previous bit, I'm kinda envious of that way of thinking. Would make things much easier, I assume. And it's great if it worked for her, but I on the contrary would find it quite painful if I look back at my in a sense similar life.

And to counter all the hopelessness a little bit - we're supposed to do that kind of thing, I guess - I tried my best to come up with some positive points, although I take them with a grain of salt myself.

- Well, it does give me an explanation for whatever is going on with me. (Although I only need that explanation for myself, since I seem to give off so much sad loser energy that no one ever bothered to ask me whether I want a boyfriend or kids. They just look at me and think "nah, that's obviously impossible for her". Which is oddly funny yet a little bit hurtful... ^^')

- I'm kind of glad that I never actually have to hug people or cuddle with them since I hate physical contact so much, lol. Doesn't matter if it's platonic or not. Remember when everyone missed being hugged during the pandemic? Couldn't be me :D

- I guess someone who is a rather bad person with way too many negative traits like me shouldn't be on the dating market anyway, so it's a plus that I'm no relationship material. Although that's more of a plus for others, not so much for me, lol. But it is a plus in the sense that everyone I would fall in love with would be unattainable for me anyway, so it's good not to be tempted in the first place.

- Idk, that's about it, I think? Maybe I forgot something, but I believe that's the gist of it. Kind of sad, but I tried, haha.

Cam’s Amulet Rewrite <3

Amulet. What an… odd book series. A book series that has an iron grip on me even after all these years. With a story that only a middle schooler would find cohesive, but an art-style that inspired me to start drawing characters for myself, I think it’s safe to say that after Kazu emotionally abandoned this work it’s time to give it some lovin’.

ENTER: an Amulet rewrite! Only this time… I’m fully embracing the wartime storyline, making elf culture a little more unique, and will attempt to give a rough outline of a story (mostly I’m working on the concepts for now though).

(DISCLAIMER: I am not saying that my ideas or concepts are better than Kazu’s, I’m just a dumb kid who was disappointed in his work and wanted to maybe use his story as a jumping off point for my own version of Amulet)

Instead of the Steampunk/Sci-Fi elements, I think that it would be more interesting (and narratively cohesive) if the story pulls aspect of Deiselpunk and inspiration from the 1940’s (don’t worry, I will explain later). I made the map make a bit more sense, I completely redesigned the characters (because they all have the same outfit), and I reworked the story.

Instead of 2-dimensional characters entering every story, we’ll focus on the OG cast and explore them a little more.

I think this story would be a really cool dark fantasy if done right. But alas, I am no New York Times best seller, so if any of y’all have any ideas please tell me! Sometimes it’s hard to convey the ideas that I have in my head in text, so tell me if you are confused or you need me to explain something a little better.

I love your blog title. I love that when DJenks made his announcement this month, I went into the tags all morose and accepting defeat, and I saw you there still ready to fight, not giving up, ready for a marathon. Truly, that means SO much to me. A little bit of hope is a powerful thing to have, and we need people who are determined to keep that flame burning bright. So happy to have you in this fandom. You really do make a difference. 💕

Aw, thank you! I really appreciate it. And yeah, I'd almost forgotten about my blog title, which I've had for over a decade, and how hope really does embody me and everything I do.

The streaming landscape is in upheaval, things are changing by the week - even since our turbo-cancellation was announced, two other shows (cancelled for much longer) were saved. Like others have been saying, we were all mentally prepared for a marathon and realistically I don't think anyone can just call everything off after just two months when so many shows have to fight for years before getting a movie deal. I respect David - he told us that news so that we'd know that there's nothing more we can accomplish right now by shouting at streamers, and that we did make a difference. There WERE interested parties, we proved we were lucrative. But that does not mean the fight is over, it just means we need to change tactics and pivot to keeping the fandom active and vocal in the long-term, and bide our time until shifts in the industry open new doors for revisiting OFMD (like David Zaslav leaving, or Max going under, or another merger). That might be six months, or it might be six years. What I am certain of is that there's so much love and passion for this show from the cast and crew that everyone would be down to get the gang back together for a season 3 years down the road.

Basically, I have no doubts the fandom will persist - this fandom is composed of very enthusiastic and artistically talented people who have an unending well of inspiration to draw from. What I do think needs to be done though, that I'm seeing wane a bit on Twitter, is to ensure we direct that noise; most people have stopped using OFMD hashtags, which means our posts won't get noticed. Something that has been great is just how vehemently the fandom has gone after Max on pretty much every single promotional post they've made in the past few weeks - check any of them out, and you'll see 95-100% of the comments are OFMD fans using #DontStreamonMax and #FireDavidZaslav , plus the great new tagline 'Sell The Show, Let Us Go'. That is something that I feel is critical we keep up, as I think one of the most powerful means of influence we have right now is to hold this industry responsible for the cancellation of queer content and just quality content overall. That's one direction we can really put our might towards - toppling the WBD empire faster. Other things we can shout for are a physical release, 'The Jenkins Cut' of s2ep8, deleted scenes/bloopers, merchandise, etc. Max is being absolutely idiotic right now in a way that shoots themselves in the foot, because they're holding onto this IP that could have been their lifeline for keeping subscribers and stock prices up, and not only did they cancel it but they're not even maximizing on the rights they refuse to sell by promoting it or making merch of it, anything that could continue to bring in revenue for what they KNOW without a doubt is one of the best performing shows they've ever had on their platform. Them trying to forget OFMD exists is the nail in their own coffin, because it's the only reason a whole lot of people ever did business with Max in the first place.

So, the long and short of it is, I'll never stop having hope for the return of our show! David said we got the attention of this industry, and we've proven our worth. It's just a really unstable landscape right now, so we need to be patient. It's annoying to see these streamers invest in less successful and more expensive shows, but I think they're all panicking to stay afloat even though they're not making decisions that could help them there. The dust needs to settle. If we can show that there's still a loud and passionate fanbase in a year, in three years, then they will revisit us. We need to keep calling out WBD and Max, we need to keep using hashtags to be heard, and just try to settle into a rhythm that we can maintain long-term. We still have a bunch of BTS to see from Samba, and we will have WJW with David at some point. I think it's important that we DON'T request any season 3 info from him, because that's what jeopardizes the possibility of that storyline then ever getting made. I'm seeing some people on Twitter start to burn out or fall into a state of sad acceptance and if you need to do that for your health, that's fine. But I don't want that mindset to spread throughout the fandom. Our outlook, our words, do have the power to become reality - if we sit back and wave the white flag, then that seriously hurts our chances of ever getting the show back. But if we can carry on like it's just a season hiatus, continuing to demand the question 'ok so WHEN *taps watch*' then our insistence can help make season 3 a reality.

here is an outline of a cale/devon fic inspired by the time i clicked on the #contentking hashtag on twitter, expecting more devon Toews pictures and instead seeing a sea of gay porn!! I never really decided whether or not to commit to the fic so it just kinda languished on my gdrive lol, but I am very fond of thinking about only fans porn star devon and his nhl boyfriend who loves him and supports his sex work career

Cale is still a hockey player, still in Colorado, still signing a super big contract, still very stoic and doesn’t smile too much, except around Devon. Still went to UMass. Partnered with Gravy, Sammy, or Josh Manson. closeted to fans, not to teammates and management

Devon is an OF star, mostly gay (jock4jock), has a youtube channel where he does SFW sex toy reviews with drag queens and gives sex advice. Played college hockey at Quinnipiac still, but had blown out a knee in juniors so it didn’t go further than college hockey — was never drafted

Devon met Cale in a gay bar in Boston, post-Cale getting drafted, pre-Cale to NHL, started a relationship, then moved to Colorado when Cale signed his big contract. Active in the gay scene in Colorado, but travels a bit for work, usually to New York or Los Angeles

Big secret who Cale is — the fans know Cale exists bc Devon always looks esp happy when he talks abt “his boyfriend” and occasionally lets slip hints that he is dating a jock, or someone famous, or w/e but Cale is never in the videos and if Devon ever posts photos of him on Insta, it’s very, boyfriend soft launch shit, no faces, just hands or outlines

Cale has no intention of ever coming out, maybe after he’s retired but not really even then. He wants to spend his life with Devon though!! And Devon, comfortable and confident in who he is, is willing to wait for Cale as long as it takes. They’ll prob move to Toronto or Los Angeles or New York after Cale retires so Devon can have more resources at his disposal for his content, but for now it works out pretty well bc Cale is rich lol. It allows Devon a bit of freedom that he wouldn’t have otherwise, even if he is in Denver.

And they are stupid in love, like Cale loves him so so so much, he doesn’t give a shit at all that Devon is a gay porn star and his dick is all over the internet and that Devon has sex with other dudes (and enjoys it!) He knows Devon loves him first and foremost and that Devon will always come home to him. Also, it’s like, super hot. And Devon is over the moon in love with Cale, like just lights up when he mentions his boyfriend, loves him so much, wishes he could show Cale off but respects his privacy, but is genuinely so in love with him, and grateful Cale understands and supports his work and doesn’t get jealous or want him to stop. Sometimes Cale even meets other jocks and is like, hey talk to my bf :)

It all comes out when Devon is like, absolutely exhausted after sex one day, livestreaming in the bedroom they reserve for his OF stuff but HE FORGOT TO TELL CALE HE WAS STREAMING OH NO and Cale walks in like, you wrecked yourself that badly when I could have done you just as good? And Devon’s shit fuck oh no and Cale’s like OH FUCK and the stream ends abruptly and is deleted immediately

Unfortunately jock4jock, there are just enough people watching who recognize Cale and while only one person got a screenshot, it’s obvious enough who Cale is, even tho he’s flirty and smiling and it’s like this immediate social media shitstorm

Cale has to have the worst press conference in the entire world, but he deals with it very stoicly. No he’s never been in Devon’s videos. Yes he supports Devon’s job. No it does not distract from his gameplay — they’ve been dating for four years at this point, if that tells you anything abt how much of a distraction it was. Joe Sakic is there and he’s like we support Cale 100%. Yes I have met Devon, he’s a charming young man and no he’s never been a distraction for Cale. We have spoken to Cale and he will not be appearing in Devon’s videos and yes, we believe him when he says that he’s never been in them. Stranger Things Season 4 Mileven Analysis and Season 5 Theory: Mike and El breakup and Byler Possibility.

Stranger Things spoilers ahead!! Also, grab some popcorn because this is a long one.

So, one of my friends said I should post my thoughts and opinions about Byler and since I absolutely LIVE for queer representation in media, especially for a mainstream show like Stranger Things, I decided I would. Being apart of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I also felt like I'd be insulting my community in a way. I will not be attacking Mike and Eleven shippers. Also, I'm not going to be discussing too much Byler evidence as I am Mike and Eleven breaking up evidence because explaining why I believe they will break up is vital to exploring what I believe might happen in season 5. Having to explain all of that and then also all of the Byler evidence would just be an extra 3 extra hours of writing that I don't have the energy for. So, if you want more, literally go to any Byler related hashtag.

As for my thoughts on Byler, I absolutely adore the ship. Anybody who knows me, knows I absolutely love Will Byers and his entire storyline and Mike Wheeler... well, he's Mike Wheeler. As for my thoughts on the stance of their possible relationship, believe it or not, I don't think we're in that bad of a place, possibility wise. Let me explain.

Let me start off with the big love confession scene between Mike and El. First of all, I will admit, there was definitely something wrong with that monolog, but not because it was bad writing or bad acting (as Finn Wolfhard has proven multiple times that he is an incredible actor), but because from the moment it started, I instantly thought: "Wait... that doesn't make sense." Mainly when Mike told El that he loved her the day he found her in the woods. First of all, I felt like the wording was a bit odd for a moment that was supposed to be emotional. Him saying "found her" kind of made it sound like he's talking to a dog (which is oddly an example the Duffer Brothers used to describe Mike and El's relationship). Second, it doesn't make sense storyline-wise. Let's remember, their whole relationship started because Mike was dead set on finding Will. That night, Mike didn't go into the woods to find El, but when he did find her, the first thing he plans to do is get rid of her. However, his mood changes when he realizes she could be of some help to find Will. I'm sorry, but you don't just plan to get rid of someone you "love"! That's literally not a thing that happens. Even after that, he continuously asks her "what's wrong with you" in a very harsh tone (When they "found Will's body" and when she uses the force and sends Lucas flying into a wall). Again, not necessarily something you say to someone you love.

Also, the way he only references her powers is a bit weird to me. There is so much more to El than just her powers. She's brave, she's kind, she's beautiful. He could've literally said that he likes that she's different from other people, which is something that she's canonically insecure about. But, he only talks about her powers, in fact, he lists powers she doesn't even have such as flying and moving mountains. But, do you know who does? SUPERMAN, someone he's compared her too before. Maybe these are just expressions, but I just find it odd that he talked about her powers, especially after her whole arch of volume 1 is learning that she's more than just her powers.

When we cut back to El in Vecna's mind lair, we can see that it isn't working for El. The vine around her neck are tightening and you can see it on her face that she didn't seem to believe him. However, we don't see her break free and find her strength to fight until she looks over and sees that Max, her best friend that taught her about other strong, powerful women like her and inspired her to become something and someone of her own, is dying in front of her eyes. That's when she gains her strength.

Then, once Steve, Nancy, and Robin go flambé on Vecna's ass, we see Lucas and El watch Max die a tragic, horrible death in front of their very eyes. That's when El brings her back to life and Max ends up in a coma. I believe this moment is supposed to tell us that El either can't or doesn't want to live a life without Max in it and absolutely refused to let her best friend die a terrible death too soon.

This leads me to two days later. Mike, Will, El, Jonathan, Nancy, and Argyle all end up back at Hopper's cabin, cleaning it up in order to to hide El. While Jonathan, Nancy, and Argyle are outside, we see Will, Mike, and El are all inside (the perfect set up for something to happen). Mike and Will are sweeping as El goes into her old room and only keeps the door open three inches. Once the two are alone, we get our last Byler heart-to-heart scene of the season.

Prompting this conversation to begin, Will asks Mike is she's talked to him at all and Mike reveals that she's a only spoken to him little bit. A little bit. It had been 2 days. Remember, this is a couple that were glued together in season 3 and wrote letters to each other frequently while they were apart. You'd think that after watching her best friend die and having to bring her back to life, El would be really leaning on Mike, especially after him telling her he love her (which was complete and utter bull but thats a post for another day). But she hasn't, and clearly still isn't.

I believe that this scene was meant to tell us that El is starting to realize that she doesn't need Mike as much as she thought. Remember, the Duffers wanted our heros to feel what it's like to lose in such a big way. After it happens, it makes you realize who you are and what you need. El realized that she didn't need her love for Mike to help her stay strong, she needed the love she has for her family: Hopper and Max, and maybe she didn't realize it in the moment, but most definitely afterwards.

Keep in mind, the loss of her dad and the loss of Max has all occurred within 8 months of each other, that's a lot for anyone,, especially El. We also see that El is still not over Hopper's death in the beginning of season 4, then mix all that with not being able to save Hawkins, this all feels like the biggest loss of her life (because it kind of is). She also realizes that she didn't need to lean on Mike to cope, she needed to do that by herself. I think she's finally starting to realize that she's more that just Mike's girlfriend, but she's also Max's best friend and Hopper's daughter.

Also, think about what's happening during her bedroom scene where she's clearly mourning Max. Mike and Will have a very emotional moment on Hopper's old couch which really parallels their 'crazy together' moment during season 2. The way they filmed this scene is absolutely beautiful and it ends with Mike gripping Will's shoulder tightly. Some people believe that this is visual representation of Mike fear of losing Will again, I don't know if that's what they were going for, but I think it's a fun idea to play with. These scenes are happening at the same time for a reason. They are showing big, emotional moments for the three characters.

And then, the last shot of the scene, we see Eleven stand in front of half of Hawkins torn apart by the man she couldn't defeat, giving her more strength to fight that ever before. Remember, despite her awful history in the town, she still considers it home. Its where her friends are, where her boyfriend is, where she met Hopper and was taken in by him. Behind her, we see Nancy and Jonathan standing together, Joyce and Hopper standing together, and... guess who else... WILL AND MIKE STANDING TOGETHER!! Many believe this shot is a visual representation or foreshadowing how season 5 will end. Eleven will be single, Joyce and Hopper will be together, Nancy and Jonathan will be together, Mike and Will will be together.

Now, here's my take on the set up of Byler:

I think Byler could be a genuine possibility, but only if it's done correctly. Not too rushed, but not pushed until the end because saving a queer relationship between two main characters until the end of a VERY LONG SERIES is honestly just annoying and we're tired of being forced to call it "representation". This shouldn't be a case of "you get what you get". So, I'm going to create a theory (if that's what you can even call this) using the information already given to us through the Duffer Brothers.

So, I think Mike should start to have his realization in episode one. Maybe a new problem could arise that may threaten Will's safety or even life (we already know he's going to have a huge significance to the storyline in season 5) and Mike realizes that the possibility of losing Will permanently scares the absolute shit out of him (obviously), but it's different than anything he's ever felt about losing Eleven. Then something could happen with Max's coma storyline (possibly a way to wake her up) so that makes El realize she needs to bring her best friend back more than anything. Then, in episode two, they have a clean, loving breakup, and everything will begin falling into place for Will's storyline, Mike's storyline, Byler's storyline, and El's storyline. Then, maybe in the middle of the episode/towards the end, we get an emotional moment between Byler, another emotional moment between El and Max, maybe even a moment between El and Lucas, before Joyce, Hopper, Jonathan, Will, and El all haul back off to California. The rest of the episode is everyone reflecting and realizing things about themselves they had never known before and this goodbye feels even sadder and more bittersweet than the first.

I can tell you right now with complete and utter confidence, if this is how they start season 5, they will set their time skip up for success in terms of story telling, writing, and time management for building up each and every storyline.

⭒ The next to the right, minksinty - phenom's art inspires me SO so much, the way they colour things is absolutely stunning and life just flows through it, even the doodles! I think this one is probably the one I did the worst on lol, idk! Their art just seems to translate the characters feelings and personalities so strongly, it's like. A narrative art style. If I had more time and focus I'd have loved to do a full body shot like this, especially to get more into studying their Clothes Technique, of which they are a master in their craft !!

⭒ Now on to the bottom row✨ jnpie - this one is small bc I was so happy w/ the first sketch I didn't want to try making it bigger and having it get all fuzzy lmao, but! Jnpie's style is so cute and like. Idk what would be a good word for it, sincere? It really is an expression, and you can feel how much they put into their art just by making it, it's just so -gestures emphatically in a positive way-. This is also the only one that didn't have a direct ref to look at! So pls forgive any discrepancies 🙏

⭒ On to the right, savestar - her art always exudes such a softness to me? Almost like a somberness that I don't quite know how to describe but its sooo pretty and makes their stuff feel very nostalgic when you look at it. It probably comes in second for the ones I struggled w/ a bit and feel I couldn't quite capture, but you can make the judgement for yourself by checking out and following her :*)

⭒ And last but certainly not least, owl-bones - this one was very fun, I'm not sure how obvious it is but his art has definitely been an influence on whatever direction mines taken for how I draw these bone boys, as it should! Rayne's art is sooo cool and pretty and this is another style I'd love to try doing a full body shot w/, the way he poses and draws clothes is so fluid and appealing and !!!

Hello, thank you! I actually started here on simblr without many plans, I just wanted to share some random pics, and that's what i did. I posted more landscapes than "planned" posts. But after a while, I wanted to change the style of my posts and make something more organized. So I decided to create some introductions for my sims, because at that time I didn't see many people doing that. And I also was inspired by other simblrs.

First, make an introduction about yourself/your account. And find what you like to do most, ex in general my blog is focused on fashion, builds and recs.

a VERY different type of christmas song than the ones thus far, but one i think sam loves anyway. if we're mixing in a bit of his comics background, his father was a pastor, and he would've grown up in church. he's probably got a lot of fond memories singing this one around christmas time, maybe even was in the church choir himself, and i know some of my own favorite christmas songs were the ones i grew up singing in church. it probably reminds him of his childhood, so he always has to make sure he hears it at least once every christmas season, whether it's on spotify or at the christmastime service he still goes to for his late mama's sake, even if it's not necessarily an "on repeat" kind of christmas song

i don’t know if this is necessarily one sam listens to every year, but i do think he’d probably relate to it during certain times of his life. it was written in wwii from the perspective of a soldier overseas, and it probably would’ve hit home for sam both during his tours and during the two years he spent on the run, missing his family but unable to go home. probably would’ve been one steve was singing along to, as well, as he would’ve heard bing crosby’s original version back in 1943, when he was overseas himself. it made for a melancholy christmas, sure, but i think this song probably would’ve been a comfort in some way as well

So, when did you get into The Cuphead Show and did you played the original game?

Truth is, I never played the original game no matter how much I wanted to (although, I have seen a copy with the DLC in a mall recently!). I was a Cuphead fan way before the show's first trailer dropped, which was what inspired me to get back into the franchise and be inspired to pick back up my very first fanfiction, Teen Girl in a Toon World (which will be getting an update on my new account this Saturday). Although, I do have a funny story about this topic.

Way back before the show's first trailer dropped, there were actually some leaked episodes on Google Drive. Problem was, I wasn't too aware about copyright and/or plagiarism (if that's the right term) at the time, especially because I hadn't yet started my YouTube channel, so I definitely didn't know better. I had seen atleast three episodes: "Carn-Evil", "Baby Bottle", and "Dangerous Mugman" (that last one helped me develop my OC's character more). This told me that there was a show on the way, which got me really excited. A while after though, I kind of fell out of Cuphead for a while and went on to Amphibia, and then I saw the trailer for TCS!, and that did it. I was hyped for it all over again, and I couldn't wait to see it.

When it did get released, I binged the first season and had plenty of fun. As time went on, I enjoyed the show plenty more, even with the creepy episodes because I enjoy creepiness a lot. The creepiness feels a lot like Amphibia's dark humor, which would always give me a bit of a weird feeling alongside a laugh. I guess that's one reason Amphibia and TCS are two of my favorite shows, especially as a pair: they actually go well together in a way I enjoy. But that's not really the point, even if I do want to talk about this story for as long as I could. Maybe another time. But not now.

And, here you are! My story of how I got back into Cuphead with the show. I am really happy that I decided to watch the show, as it is absolutely worth it especially if you're a fan of Cuphead or just animation in general. I highly recommend giving it a watch and supporting the hashtag #RENEWTHECUPHEADSHOW, all caps, for a chance to get it a new season on Netflix. I really liked talking about this and I'm hoping to tell more stories in the future. For now, I've got to log out and get some stuff done, so I'll see you all soon (hopefully).

here we’ll dance, in this dark place...

oop, here’s my first venture into painting my gods in all their weird glory. it’ll be a long time before i can accurately depict any of the eldritch maximalist nonsense that day and night have got going on, but anyways: here’s sublime, the eldest of the new divinities, your local sleazy club promoter, that one fucking guy, etc. a bit of writing + some rambling under the cut!

sublime is the eldest son of night, and was modelled in night’s image. as night Himself is afflicted by the same inability to create anything of any originality, same as all the other old gods, sublime is almost a carbon copy of night in His youth. (think around the ming dynasty, during the perihelion phase of Their rule.)

after night’s marriage to dawn, and prompt divorce, night experiences a great deal of something that we’ll call shame and totally renounces all His creations prior to His marriage. 

His second son, scherzo, is modelled in dawn’s perfect image -- or, you know, as a caricature of dawn -- and sublime is shunned and eventually exiled. the sons of night do not get along: sublime is the prodigal eldest who is suddenly being denied his father’s empire, and scherzo is the over-spoilt youngest. 

sublime claims that scherzo is a glorified puppet sculpted by a lovestruck idiot; scherzo claims that sublime is a puddle of dark that their holy father accidentally spat onto.

sublime now has no contact with his father or the nocturne, but he’s fond of his sisters, and will check up on them frequently. scherzo is very ‘i don’t give a fuck about humans, why should i, i am the flawless fucking machine, the eidolon, the hiemal almighty’ sigma bro hashtag grindset but sublime loves humans and is constantly making pacts with them even though he does very literally drive them nuts and distort them and uhh completely fuck up their lives. i’ve been really enjoying filling up his pinterest board hehe bc i really dig that oversaturated neon vibe where everything is a little too bright and vibrant to be entirely real + psychedelic nightmare surrealist clusterfuck etc etc. 

think coloured lights so bright they wash out the expression and the humanity out of the people you see, a warehouse packed full of bodies, your throat dry and pulsing with panic, sensory overload, a shape in the fog machines moving towards you, eyes like flashlights. sublime is very much a horror-oriented character mostly inspired by the struggle of clinging onto reality when you’re not entirely sure what you’ve taken.

he also loves cults and setting up cults, it’s like a hobby for him. he’s very much the black sheep of all the young gods, even considering the Exquisite Distillation, who is very much a mass murderer, but it’s, you know, well deserved. sublime is a slimy dude.

^^ above and below are from an oooold draft. im still trying to get the hang of how sublime interacts with scherzo. the sons of night are not strictly brothers due to the nature of how He creates things, but they certainly do not like each other. sublime cannot stand his successor even though he is forced to admit that scherzo is a flawless new god in both design and ability

it’s worth mentioning here that scherzo loves to lord his status over sublime. scherzo protects night’s great labyrinthine library and thus has unfiltered access to most of the well of human knowledge, as well as surveillance over most human individuals. sublime trades secrets, and puts a little piece of himself into every person he makes a pact with. they are both constantly going apeshit nuts that the other has something they don’t. 

anyways i hope to draw them more as i get a little bit more comfortable with more abstract stuff and then maybe i can even shift to painting the old gods someday. for now i struggle to plan out their character arcs

also they have fucking typing quirks for their weird i am everywhere and everything voices. i will never everrr escape homestuck unfortunately . ah well

im also playing with this idea where each of the new gods represent the inevitability of a great catastrophe (and the continuation of the cosmic cycle) in some way. still playing with this but minuet is the catalyst, sublime is the premonition of it, scherzo is the consequence and the rubble in the aftermath, ofluxe/the exquisite distillation is of course the huge fuckoff problem.

some minuet pov below because she is as of this current draft hellbent on dragging him into a family that embraces him. minuet is a total garbage fire shipwreck car crash of a functional goddess, but she has an iron conviction in the sanctity of family. this will of course obliterate her later.

sublime’s love for his sisters and his wife is probably his only redeeming characteristic, at least until minuet’s POV starts narrating the majority of the shitshow. dare i say misandrist icon.

😷 UnKamenThought #1: Start of Something New, Yet Familiar? 👾

So many thoughts I wanna just spill out onto something/somewhere. From how I've been feeling lately about my idea(s), future plans, what I feel like I messed up on, what I think I did great on (glitch brain go brr so this is vague and doesn't really dictate the order of how the subjects are brought up... BUT I will separate each topic somehow... NGL just been a lurker of Tumblr, never really and active participant, but we gon learn as we go)

See, UnKamenThoughts started off on my Twitter where I just have random thought I wanted to share to stir a conversation with mutuals and/or just people in the same/similar space of vtubing. Thought it was a clever idea for my name to be included with a hashtag I felt would be used a lot. And I certainly did use it a lot. But thing is about twitter is that it's limited and cuz of how limited it is, I felt like I was kinda annoying people with multiple tweets in a thread by myself.

Kinda glad that twitter was shaken up cuz it forced a lot of us to look for alternatives... Some alternatives are buggy (maybe shut down rn... Miss you Hive), some are confusing to use currently (Mastodon when?), Some are finally getting some dust blown off it... (And then we saw all our old cringe and decided to just make a whole new account. Hello again tumblr and Instagram) and some are established things but I don't think is for everyone to have since it's kind of just paywalled off content without the implications of it being strictly 🔞 explicit content (that might be for another day) Other than that I've already talked about what I want to do with my other socials cuz I've been a big believer in making sure you have other means of getting reach to new eyes and such... Yet I'm a hypocrite and definitely just on twitter and twitch 😅 (but we growing slowly outta it... This and the couple IG posts I made are the first steps) and don't get me wrong I feel like I did a decent amount of growing... BUT being on just 2 places and inconsistent AF with a lot of what I do (more on that later) yeah the growth is a bit stagnant. Besides that bit... The rumblings of it helped kick my @$$ into gear to complete the Discord Server... It still needs some work but I'm proud of it and can't wait to house a lot of fun things there. Though I feel like I accomplished a decent amount... I'm not happy with how I carried out or flaked out on plans... Execution of a lot of things... Unsatisfactory.

I had this fun (basic) idea of every stream I do in November would be a collab. Now building off that to make it a little more impactful and interesting I'd Collab with someone new almost every stream. And then to finish it off towards the end I'd do a big Collab with anyone/everyone that came on before and some who weren't available at the time to join me for a final hoorah if No Solo November. At the either final stream or at the end of every stream for No Solo I'd give thanks to everyone who hung out with me and why I'm so thankful for them (cuz Thanksgiving and such). Now it's December 5th (started writing this like end of Nov 30th), and I did the base idea with the other bits in mind yet I did not plan a damn thing (besides one thing) so it kinda flopped on it's face... I failed to plan, so I planned to fail. I didn't manage my time properly to slot people in for specific days and specific games. I was really kinda sad that I didn't even just grab a bunch of people who were free for a big thing at the end... The biggest part I'm upset about was I didn't give thanks to those who deserved it most regardless if we streamed... Main point was to have fun and let my friends and inspirations know how appreciative I am of them existing and wanting to hang around me. *Sigh* it's fine... This is year 0 problems, next year will be a better year. Besides this is all reflection on what I can do better next time... Now onto the one thing I did plan:

RIVALRY SERIES -

🦊Kitsune V Kamen😷: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

So Rivalry Series is just ya usual VS series between two people of course as they play a game together or adjacent to each other. Now it will always be ___ V Kamen cuz I do plan on having various people as my main rival for whatever game. Kitsune - @heyjanaebers is (currently in my plans) a reoccurring main rival of mine so it only made sense that I start it off with her. That being said we were going to have battles with wagers at certain points of the game... Somewhere in the start (after 1st gym?), Somewhere in the middle ("50%" of the game) and finally at the end (beaten main story and give prep time for the battle). Now again I failed to plan (further) so I planned to fail when it was time... We did not, in fact battle after the 1st gym... We rescheduled due to Reality things goin on for both of us... And cuz I got really into the game and without battle gyms I kinda leveled up a lot... So she had to catch up (my fault) and I had to kinda dawdle around while she catches up. Which gave me more pokemon to use so I still technically had a leg up... Anyways we battled well past the middle point... So next battle is the last battle (for the time being) so I'm definitely giving prep time for both of us... Granted, currently she is ahead of me. I know where I messed up with this, besides not thinking the idea fully through and mapping it out or just having some backup plans to level out the playing field for "scheduled" battles I think the mistake(s) lie in it being a new game and sometimes... You want to experience the game as much as possible and you don't wanna wait for anyone when you are in the thick of it... SO that being said I think should've had some failsafes for either of us getting ahead... Should've stuck to the script of doing these battles when they were supposed to happen... Or do what I thought of and kinda make poke-updates on my journey... Would be just smart to make fuggin content/videos... Record everything and trim down to the good stuff...

Anyways year 0 problems... Fixing it for the next year and next game(s) for Rivalry series...

Overall, I know these are great ideas... I know these could be amazing things for fun content. But I have to learn from these things; plan things out fully, prepare properly and make sure to execute things right if I wanna be satisfied with the result... NGL I want #NoSoloNovember to be something I'm known for and a lot of others do as well... that as well as other ideas whether I tried them or have yet to put into action. Besides that... I just need to manage things better overall, I think something's have suffered due to lack of proper management. Starting off December weird due to irregular stream times but I made this post which I want to be a regular thing here... Both things mentioned will be better. I will be better.
