okay i'll admit it: i'm a full-on lyney simp now
#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yo,ide yo !!#i'm only annoyed that i didn't decide that i liked him sooner#i mean i got lucky and got him early but who knows whether his sig will ever come home#subjectively speaking,i'm wondering if he's actually going to replace chong as my “main” main#but objectively i know that i'm just feeling the high of getting a fresh new character right now#and ultimately i'll still be a chongyun main#here's the thing: lyney has one specific type of team comp that he really wants to use, that being mono pyro#most of my other dps's are like that too: cyno hyperbloom, yanfei vape,(future main) albedo mono geo#obviously to a lesser extent than lyney of course; theirs aren't literally built into their kits like his#i just. see so many possibilities with chongyun#just by virtue of playing him as a main dps i'm already not playing meta anyway so why not go ham#i already have a whole other account for pyro chongyun. i also got sobp for physical chongyun#hell i even have a crack idea for a hydro chongyun hyperbloom driver. which might actually make me use kuki#(i guess /arguably/ it would still be considered hyperfridge since he has those cryo blades at the end of his na string. and also his burst#(and also his skill swords. but they're few and far between so the freezing barely matters. especially since he'd shatter them all anyway)#but yeah. if there comes a time when other elements can be infused (to others not just the self)#you best believe i'll find a way to make chong a main dps of that element

Genshin Angst Headcanons - Why the two of you broke up
Note: Had an unexpected free day! I haven't written in a while, please excuse the mistakes, if any.
Disclaimer at the end of the post
Warning: Some are pretty predictable. Each of them have their own issues, lore wise, so some are lore heavy. You might not agree with some of them, but its how I see it, so to each their own. Let me know what you think! Some are quite angsty. Some scenes it's you breaking up with him and some are vice versa. Didn't feel like writing Razor, Venti and Xingqiu.
Characters: Aether, Albedo, Alhaitham, Ayato, Baizhu, Bennett, Chongyun, Cyno, Dainsleif, Diluc, Gorou, Heizou, Itto, Kaeya, Kaveh, Kazuha, Lyney, Neuvillette, Scaramouche, Tartaglia, Thoma, Tighnari, Xiao, Zhongli, gn!reader
Personal Favourites in this work: Lyney, Itto, Kazuha
Aether
Sister issues. Enough said.
He realized he didn't have enough time to spare romancing with someone.
Somewhere along the way he felt guilt that he was enjoying his time with you while his sister went through some sort of villain origin story that seemingly turned her bad.
Top off all the adventuring, searching, solving problems for other people that he did...Where did that leave you, exactly?
"...I'm sorry, Y/N... I just... I don't think this is the right time for me to be together with you,"
Albedo
Contrary to popular belief it wouldn't be his lack of time or extreme focus on his alchemical experiments that would break the two of you up. He knows how to manage his time.
It was the RESULTS of experiments and his research that would put him away from you.
The possibility that HE or his world, was way too dangerous for you.
How many "Albedos" did Rhinedottir really create? Was there more than three? Perhaps four, five? And what happens when you come face to face with another Albedo?
"I'm afraid...There are far too many dangers surrounding myself... There are answers that I can't find...and perhaps that's the reason why my answer is to part ways with you,"
Alhaitham
Too much of a nonchalant attitude.
He expressed some kind of interest in you...but it's like... once in a blue moon. 95% of the time you're not sure if he's really into you. It almost seems like he's more into that book he reads all the time.
Simply just not good at expressing himself. Like, at all. Hides behind a "whatever works" and "I don't care about what other people think of me" attitude, unfortunately that seems to include you.
Is so straightforward that sometimes it hurts, but he's really just telling the truth through logical analysis.
will act like the breakup didn't hurt nor affect him at all. In turn it hurts you instead.
"I see. So you've had enough of me... And you only spoke up now? Pointing it out earlier could've diverted us from this path...If that's how you feel already I suggest that we stop seeing each other,"
"That's it? You're not even going to try and work it out with me?"
"What's there to work out? You've made yourself clear. You're not satisfied with the way I treat you, and I'm afraid I'm not going to change the way I act just for your pleasure... It'd be more meaningful for you to find someone who fits your criterias,"
Ayato
entering a relationship with a noble was not as easy as one thought.
It's not just about being together forever and feeling lucky because Ayato is rich and your whole life is set, it's also the not fitting in, the etiquette, the whispers from townfolk that you were too ordinary for him, the work that you needed to do if you were to become his wife.
All that was not really a big problem for you, but Ayato seemed not to know of your struggles, he was extremely busy, and when he wasn't, he seemed to think that everything was well and fine, since you were getting all your basic needs met and even more.
"...So I'm sorry, Ayato. This is just... All too much for me. I'm sorry,"
"...I understand. Forgive me, it seems that I've overlooked a lot of things...Perhaps it is as you say, that it'd be better for us to grow apart rather than grow together,"
Baizhu
because he is a ticking time bomb, no matter which way he looked it's not going to end well for both of you.
He either dies early or lives forever. In both scenarios he anticipates that the two of you are just going to be in a world of hurt.
Besides, he didn't mean to get so attached to someone in the first place, he knew his quest for immortality was long and arduous. You didn't deserve to walk that difficult road too.
While breaking up, will conceal the fact that he's only thinking of you and will possibly hurt you in the process.
"I'm sorry, but it's for the best. I ask that you continue going forward without me, there's no space for you in my... ideal future,"
Bennett
We all know it...it's his bad luck. However, it wasn't YOU who had a problem with it, it was HIM.
You understood that his bad luck was just some extended part of him, plus it's not like it was always bad, there were a lot of good times too. Plenty!
But the guilt ate him up whenever the two of you were stuck in a seemingly impossible scenario and predicament, brought on by his luck. He just had enough of it one day.
"I...I can't keep doing this to you every day! It's not fair..."
will be on the brink of tears before he even starts.
"Maybe it's better if you find someone else to adventure with, Y/N, sorry...!"
runs away before you can even get a word in.
Chongyun
Thinks he's not good enough in every aspect. It's really, seriously not about you. He thinks he's lacking in everything. Strength, maturity, experience, confidence.
So badly wants to stay with you but feels like he's not good enough and thinks that you're better off with someone else.
"D-Don't misunderstand... It's not because I don't like you anymore... I just...Please find someone else!"
Cyno
his bad jokes and TCG addiction. just kidding, you're not that shallow.
A lot of people are intimidated by him being the General Mahamatra because he gives importance to justice. While you, who had seen a bit more of him than other people had, it seemed more of an obsession to uphold the Akademiya's law and integrity.
This was not a big problem to you, you liked how he was serious at work.
Until one day when you were accused of plagiarising one of your papers and Cyno was the one sent to give you a first offense warning. The Akademiya knew of your relationship, that's probably why they sent him, to make it harder on the two of you.
Cyno didn't listen to your explanations on how it was an honest mistake, he still gave you the warning that you "deserved"
From then on it had just been different between the two of you, so it was really a mutual breakup. Or so you thought.
"...After that, I just realized that maybe this isn't the right time for us... We're both working for the Akademiya, we both take our jobs seriously...Unfortunately that seems to just be getting in the way of us...I think it's best if we stop seeing each other,"
"...I see." he pauses for a minute, as if tossing your words in his mind. "I...agree. Parting ways would certainly make work easier for both of us...it's the professional thing to do,"
Dainsleif
Has not moved on from his past.
Sure, everyone has their own baggage to carry, their own history to live through...but Dainsleif has heavier things than that. He seemed to wake up every day thinking of Khaenri'ah and the days long past. Was it regret? Nostalgia? Loneliness? You didn't know. You just knew that he wasn't really completely THERE with you in the present. Part of him still lived in the past.
When you explained that you felt like the two of you were not moving forward together and that it seemed like he wanted to go back to the past instead, he got offended.
"...My past is something that I carry forever, you'd claimed that you understood that," he starts.
"I do! But carrying it with you and letting it drag you backwards are two different things!"
He falters for a moment, only to leave you with his last words before turning away from you forever: "You will never understand, the weight that I carry,"
Diluc
is too guarded. You'd been friends for a long, long, long, long time before he decided he could let you in enough and be more intimate with you.
Even then everything was going at a snail's pace, though you were extremely patient with him.
The biggest problem with Diluc was that the two of you would progress one day, take a step forward, and then the next day it was like the two of you took two steps back.
Example: The two of you went out for a simple stargazing excursion late one night, it was nice and he had been incredibly affectionate. The next day he had trouble even meeting your gaze, and disappeared to do his work. It was also a little awkward during dinnertime. This scenario had happened more than once.
Hint: the closer he got to you the more afraid he became, thinking that he would one day lose you too.
"I...I can't. I love you but I...I've waited far too long. I'm sorry. I'm tired of this endless chase for you!"
He couldn't even say a thing. He'd wanted to ask you to stay, to wait for him a little longer, but he already knew how incredibly selfish that would have been. Instead, he grimaced, and looked away from your gaze, trying to find something worthwhile to say. There was only silence for a few moments.
"Goodbye Diluc," that's when you turned away.
Gorou
worships Kokomi too much and your insecurities just kept circling around in your head.
You know its his job. You know he isn't like that but the problem was YOU and not him.
Simply said you let your insecurity eat up the relationship between the two of you.
You couldn't bring yourself to say that you were jealous of the way he admired Kokomi so you broke up with him with another reason in tow.
Unfortunately, you're not a very good liar face to face so you did a butthole move and actually broke up with him through a letter. You just couldn't face him and tell him why.
All you mentioned in the letter was that you needed time to think and be away from him, and told him not to worry because it was your problem, not his.
Poor Gorou reread that letter over and over, trying to understand what went wrong.
Heizou
is just a natural flirt. You're not sure if he's doing it on purpose or not and you're not sure if he's even aware he's like that.
Anyway you'd seen him getting overly friendly (just another word for flirting) with a few other people a couple of times. You didn't let it get to you the first, fourth or even eighth time but you realized that he KNOWS that you're watching him do that.
So you confront him about it, but he claims that it's just his way of gathering information from others. People like to hear good things and some people are more susceptible to flirtatious comments so he resorts to that for his investigation sometimes.
You didn't really completely buy it and even if you did, it's not like this was healthy for your relationship. You just couldn't make yourself comfortable with it.
*You just chalked it up to the two of you being incompatible.
"I'm just not comfortable with that...I don't think I have to say sorry for how I feel but...I'm sorry anyway because I know you're just doing your job... It's probably best if we part ways here..."
"Is there any way to change your mind?" he genuinely asks.
You only give a lopsided smile. "You're a detective, I think you already know the answer to that,"
Yet he didn't stop you from walking away.
Itto
Kept breaking promises because he was too airheaded or too occupied doing something "stupid" with the kids or with his gang.
Pretty soon it just felt like you were an afterthought while everyone else in his life took precedent.
Got a ramen date? Oops, sorry! Got caught up looking for a strong onikabuto in the forest!
Needed his help to move some things? Gah, he was vandalising the bulletin boards, so he's running a bit late!
What's more you didn't actually mind that carefree, airheaded side of him...but it really got to you when he couldn't even seem to make you a priority. Not once.
He only realized that when he came running, late again, and stood face to face with a crying you.
"Hey sorry Y/N, I was just--...Why are you crying?!" is completely dumbfounded and clueless, mostly because when he came late, you had always shrugged it off with a smile on your face, or so he thought. This time you had a completely different reaction.
"I hate you...*hic* I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!"
Shocked beyond belief. It wasn't like you to just blow up like that, but he couldn't do anything except watch you turn and run away from him after that exclamation.
Kaeya
Sometimes you're not sure if he takes you seriously.
Recently, he's not where he says he is, you don't know why he doesn't just tell you where he is.
He said he'd be working late, but then you find out he's at Angel's Share.
He said he'll be at Angel's Share, but then you catch word from Jean that he's out on a late mission.
He said he's escorting a caravan to Mondstadt but he's actually on assignment in Liyue.
It came to the point where you altogether just stopped looking for him cause half of the time you couldn't find him. It's like he's avoiding you or something, which, actually, seems just about right since he's been so busy with "work"
It reached a breaking point when, for a week, you were unable to bring him the lunch you prepared...because he was not where he said he was going to be. It was starting to get annoying.
"I don't understand why you're lying to me! Why do you have to tell me you'll be at Angel's Share this afternoon when you're not? Do you realize you make me walk all the way there only to come all the way back with nothing achieved?"
"I'm sorry snowflake, that wasn't my intention," though he still chuckles despite knowing full well that you were about to turn away.
"You know what, let me know when you're ready to stop making jokes. Until then, don't bother contacting me,"
He just didn't expect you to actually walk away from him.
Kaveh
Entertains everyone and anyone. Naturally kind at heart, will stop for anyone in trouble...even that flirtatious man/woman who is clearly just pining for his attention.
No he doesn't quite realize this.
The same person had asked for his help at least 4 times now and all 4 times he had been happy to offer a helping hand.
The last straw was when he was invited into the stranger's house, they had apparently needed someone to help them move and re-arrange furniture and he did, working till almost dinner time.
You'd caught him right by the person's door, because Kaveh was actually honest and told you he'd be helping them today, but the person was clearly eyeing Kaveh rather flirtatiously.
"Come again next time," you heard the person say rather happily. Kaveh only replies with "If I have nothing else to do, I suppose,"
"Kaveh, they're coming onto you and you keep letting it happen!"
"I'm not certain what you're talking about...They just needed some help around their house, nothing suspicious happened at all. Even if there was, I won't let anything happen between me and a stranger!"
"Then STOP helping them!"
"There isn't anything wrong with lending a hand...It was a quick move of things, that's all,"
"How would YOU feel if I just went into someone's house and kept helping them "move" things?"
"...I would think that's nice of you,"
You actually threw your hands up. "Oh, forget it! You know what, for someone who LOVES helping others, you're not doing such a great job of helping ME," then walked away and never came back. "Good riddance,"
Kazuha
He's a wandering samurai. You knew what you were getting into but you didn't expect dating him to be so hard.
He was gone for weeks on end, and you were not getting on that boat with him. In essence the two of you were just not ready to follow each other to the end's of the Earth, and that was fair. The two of you were young.
Kazuha kind of saw it coming, whenever he visited you, you seemed less spirited and he had an inkling as to why. The time apart was just too much for you.
It was a rather clean break actually. A real mutual breakup that the two of you agreed on.
"...You could say it's just not the right time for us," you even managed to laugh under your breath and he did the same, though it was barely audible.
"...Mm. There are matters that you need to attend to here...and there are things that I need to do out there," he slowly stood up from his sitting position next to you and still gazed at you rather lovingly. "...Perhaps, in another world, you and I are bound together,"
You gazed back forlornly, "...Just not in this one, it looks like,"
Lyney
because he will always choose his siblings over you. Always.
Though that's not a bad thing because you also think that family is important...somewhere along the way you realized that family is the ONLY thing he had and saw.
Example: Lynette and you had gotten ill at the same time one winter morning. Perhaps it was the cold that was passing around Fontaine. Lyney had been so worried about Lynette, that he seemed to have forgotten about you for the next few days. In fact, Lyney didn't even realize that you caught the cold too. You had only heard from Freminet, who you happened to cross paths with, that Lynette was also ill.
You thought that incident was the end of it, but really it seemed that whenever Lyney wanted to hang out with you, Lynette had to be there too. You tried to understand...after all there's still that mystery of disappearing women in Fontaine.
The breakup was induced when Lyney completely forgot about your birthday, because Freminet's was around the same time as yours. You helped Lyney prepare everything for Freminet, and said nothing about your own.
You realized that there was nothing wrong with choosing family over everything else...but the problem here was that Lyney didn't even have space for you in the first place.
So you left without saying anything. You figured he'd get over it quick. You had even gone so far as to move away from the main city of Fontaine and out into another island, because what would you say if he found you? That you were jealous of his siblings? You weren't going to ruin a family like that and it wasn't right to make him choose...so you just left without a word.
Neuvillette
Had a whole brainrot for this man:
Part 1
Part 2
Scaramouche
surprisingly it's not his anger issues.
It's the way he wouldn't acknowledge your relationship. You wonder how you even got into one with him.
There's no public show of affection, but even behind closed doors it rarely happened.
You knew that he was going to be like that, and so you didn't mind it all that much.
It was getting a bit much though when, out in public, he would walk further in front of you and refused to walk next to you. When he pretended like he didn't even know you. When he didn't stop to help you even when another man had shown interest in you, bordering on uncomfortable.
The more time passed the more you simply felt unloved...but for some reason you still blamed yourself.
"...I...don't know. Maybe you find me undesirable, or just...unappealing. Maybe you're embarrassed of me or...or..." maybe you just didn't care in the first place, you thought to yourself.
There was a long silence. Of you turning your gaze away, of him still piercing into yours. And then...
"Tsk...don't waste my time...Leave if you want to leave, door's open,"
Tartaglia
This one is simple. It's his obsession for fighting plus his complete disregard for himself. It's a constant heart attack for you. At some point the anxiety is just too much for you to handle.
Imagine living every day just wondering if he's safe at the same time knowing that he just loves to look for trouble.
The foul legacy that you know of, he uses it with disregard as well, despite knowing that it wasn't good for him.
And there are even days where you know he was heavily wounded but didn't go to you, in an attempt to shield you from worry.
It's a constant battle trying to stay sane and unworried, until one day it all just becomes too much.
"...Nothing I say will change anything, Tartaglia. This is who you are...This is who you need to be..." you whisper while bandaging his knuckles. He lets out a short hum.
It was silent all up until you finished with his hand, you squeeze it gently. "...I love you but...I can't keep doing this to myself, I'm tired...more so than I have ever been before,"
He lets your hand slip away from his knuckles, and that was the last he saw of you.
Thoma
This one is also simple. He was always taking care of others and running errands for others that he sometimes just couldn't catch a break.
Just a classic case of not enough time for you since he had a job to do for the Kamisato Clan.
He knows it, and feels awful about it. So he's the one who makes the move.
"It hurts that I can't give you what you deserve, Y/N. This isn't it... You deserve more than this but I can't give you that and I'm sorry. Please look for the love that you deserve,"
Tighnari
Remembers everything. Can be critical of things you've done, specially if he thinks there's a better way to do it.
Simply said you just feel stupid in front of him sometimes.
He doesn't mean to, but he sometimes forgets to appreciate or give praise to the things that you do well and even if he does, it tends to be short lived compared to his constructive criticisms.
Pretty soon you felt like he only looks at the bad things you do, and never the good. Though he was really only trying to teach and guide you as an equal.
He in fact feels that you are one of the few people who can keep up educational conversations with him.
The problem is he kind of forgets that you're his lover, and that you would enjoy his praise and affection from time to time.
"Do you... Do you ever have anything nice to say other than 'good work' or 'great observation'?" the words were out of your mouth before you could hold yourself back. Sometimes it was tiring to feel like you weren't good enough.
There's a flash of surprise that crosses Tighnari's expression for a split second, before he recovers. "...Had I not been praising your work enough lately? My apologies... It has a lot of merits, I just thought that you wanted my opinion on how to make it better,"
You opened your mouth to say something, but closed it again right after to ponder on his words. Somehow even that had managed to make you feel embarrassed. It was here you knew that the problem also lied within yourself.
"...Sorry, Tighnari...I think I'll need some time alone,"
He obliges quickly and asks. "That's reasonable. When would you like me to come back?"
"...Let me rephrase that... I need some time away. From us."
Xiao
Unfortunately there's a lot of things wrong here... his lack of affection. His aloof personality. His dedication to his yaksha duties. Despite that he does actually try to be gentlemanly or respectful of you.
The worst of it is that he didn't know how to be in a relationship, in other words he just wasn't ready for one, or perhaps he would never be ready for one.
He didn't understand that humans craved companionship and sometimes touch. He didn't understand that meant having to favour you over others, sometimes even putting you first over his yaksha duties.
Worst of it all was when he shut himself off from you, sometimes for days on end, when his karmic debt was too high. He only really did it to protect you, but never realized how isolated that made you feel.
When you confronted him about it, he felt attacked. Hiding away was the only way he knew how to cope...why couldn't you understand that?
"Let me help you, Xiao,"
"I don't need your help!" his tone would make you wince and just like that he disappears into a billow of smoke.
You never returned to Wangshu Inn after that. If he couldn't let you in, there was no use trying to knock on his heart. Xiao being Xiao, never sought you ought again either.
Zhongli
He had experienced so many things and you had listened to many a tales from him.
This is what caused you to realize that you hadn't even experienced life at all, and yet here you were willing to tie yourself down to him.
It just didn't feel like it added up. Here he was with all this knowledge of the world and here you were who had never even stepped outside of Liyue. By no means were you stupid, but you felt that you could be better not only for him, but for yourself if you learned more.
There was just such a huge gap in life experiences, and though you never expected to get to his level (he was a God who had lived for a long time, you would never catch up to him) you at least wanted to see what was out there with your own eyes instead of through his stories.
He understood that wholeheartedly, and had no qualms in letting you go.
"You will always have a place with me, Y/N. No amount of lifetimes will change that,"

Disclaimer: Relationships will always have some sort of problem along the way, maybe big, maybe small but I just want to reiterate that breaking up is not always the solution. Communicating is very important. So to those of you who like taking fanfiction too seriously, let it be known that this is just a work of fiction. I don't actually suggest breaking up with someone as soon as there is the slight indication of a problem (Just saw someone commenting on a similar themed post for Haikyuu that this wouldn't happen in the real world if both parties were mature... I mean, sure, but, idk, you must be fun in parties... it's called fiction for a reason...)

Oracle!Reader Part 11
Masterlist - Part 1, Part 10, Part 12
As always this is your warning! This au is dark, violent and sad at times. It's imposter sagau which is already yandere and stuff. Blood, graphic description of violence is in it.
The flower pin was rough under your fingertips as it's stashed away into your bag. A keepsake for Kuan now that the chances of her body being found without life were higher. If not certain already.
"The meeting must have gone poorly to say the least. Treasure hoarders are greedy by nature, they must have spiked the price to insane heights."
Xingqiu pushes the chunks of metal off the road as he comments on his theory. Tracks are slowly revealed leading both ways of the path.
"Which way now? They probably kept the victims together so should we split up or stay together?" Chongyun asks as you all stand together looking at the split path.
Both paths had multiple footprints, but it was hard to tell which were from fighting or fleeing. Xingqiu opens the tracking and hunting book as he flips through it.
"There was a chapter on footprints, it can probably help us know which way to go. And hopefully how long ago too."
Nodding absentmindedly, you carefully step around the tracks and compare the amount of child-sized on the left to the ones on the right. There were at least twice as many on the left than the right.
"Hey Chongyun I think they went left; can you see if the smaller footprints fade out or turn around on the right path?"
"Sure" He's gone quickly and Xingqiu joins you in the left path as he compares the text in the book to what he's seeing.
"The small tracks are digging deeper at the front meaning they must have been running. If they were just fighting, there would have been more of a bump. It would be easier to tell if there was less blood, but our best bet seems to be the left path."
"The left leads deeper into Liyue to the Minlin region, right? That's good since the mountains are too tough to get off the path with that many children but the path leads to Jueyun Karst too."
"Should I even ask how you're so familiar with the Minlin region?"
"Do you really want a repeat of the event earlier?"
"You both better not be fighting again." Chongyun butts in as he jogs back. He's holding something in his hands and stretches them out revealing the item.
"The footprints there were all grown so you were right about it being left Y/N. I also found this Fatui insignia." The blue and gold design of a sergeant insignia was stained with dried blood and dirt.
"I believe there's a good chance that the treasure hoarders managed to escape with the hostages. That would explain why the fatui agent tried to settle a 'debt' with us before."
"Then let's not waste any time, if we don't hurry, they might try to get off the path." Picking up the pace you all follow the left path and keep quiet for any signs of the victims.
As you continue past the scenery and occasional animals your mind lingers on the possibility of them going off the path or not. They definitely could if they knew the area well enough, but something is nagging you that you're missing something.
If the deal went well, the hoarders would have used the cart to drive away. It's doubtful that they would go back to the harbor with their crime so recent but going on the right path wouldn't work either.
The right path would have led them past Wangshu Inn which was like a game over since Xiao isn't all that subtle. Or to Mingyun village which was where the Fatui would have left to. They would have met up in that village and fight there instead of here so that's out too. That leaves only the left path which leads straight to Jueyun Karst.
That would be a bad option but unlike Wangshu Inn that's surrounded by water, they could escape south to the ruins. So, the hoarders would be going left either way. So whatever way they planned on escaping is canceled due to the hostages. Why did you still feel like you were forgetting something?
Your hand tightens around the strap of your bag as the path gets rocky. Maybe if you reread the commission you could remember?
Not slowing down you dig the handbook out and read the commission list. Your eyes stop on the commission that stands out the most.
Full Speed Ahead - The path is needed for a transportation vehicle moving people. Make sure the path is clear within the time limit. Defeating enemies may be necessary.
The path needed is the bridge that leads into Jueyun Karst. The vehicle in the commission isn't specified nor the reason. Did they plan to cross that bridge before escaping through the bottom mountain?
Right now, it was the only idea of what direction they could be taking, you had to get to that bridge. Stuffing the handbook back into your bag, you start to speed up.
"I think I have an idea on where they went! We need to get to the bridge that leads to Jueyun Karst."
The look they shoot you is ignored as you draw closer to the bridge. Even still, they match your pace before you all slow down at the sight of the bridge.
The bridge had multiple slimes crowding it as it swayed at the weight. Wasn't this bridge a safety hazard? Those gaps are big enough that a whole person could slide out.
"I see a group on the other side!" Xingqiu says loudly over the sound of the bouncing slimes. You look where he's pointing and can see a rough group of six people.
Chongyun takes a step on the bridge but is instantly pushed back by the slimes. Frowning he speaks with the slightest hint of worry.
"We can't cross with all those slimes but if we fight them, the bridge might collapse. We would need to go all the way around and that would not only put those people in danger but let the hoarders get farther."
"Then let's think outside the box, who says fighting is our only option?" Grinning with confidence you push past the guys and step on the bridge.
Trying not to look down the bridge you grip the rope tightly and watch the slimes start to crowd you. Unlike with the geovishap hatchlings, you didn't plan to just stay still.
Three cryo slimes tackle your legs at the same time but miss as you dodge it. The slimes fall through the wide gaps giving you more leg room.
With that you begin to quickly pick up the 'safer' slimes like the hydro and geo slimes before chucking them off. You were careful not to let the pyro or electro slimes touch you and simple dodged them.
"What are you two doing standing there?! Come and help me already!"
Your words seem to snap them out of whatever daze they were in before they ran to join you. As vision holders their bodies had some natural resistance to the slime's elemental bodies. You witnessed Chongyun pick up two pyro slimes with ease as you kicked a dendron slime off. He didn't even get a single burn!
The number of slimes dwindled down quickly till there only a handful of hydro slimes. You expected them to try to run away or charge at you but instead they simply circled you before gurgling happily.
Throwing off one of the hydro slimes you finally looked down to see that all the slimes were safely at the bottom. You did have the maximum world level 8 so fall damage must not be enough to kill them.
In your confusion you picked up the next one and bluntly asked. "Do you guys enjoy being thrown off like this?"
It smiled with 'closed' eyes almost exactly like you would see in the game as the last two hydro slimes jumped around happily. You looked up at Chongyun and Xingqiu who gave you an equally confused stare.
Shit this might have been another creator perk. If the slimes don't enjoy being thrown by them, then the guys will start to suspect you again. That means precious time and energy wasted, Yiran can't afford that.
"Can you both check up on the group while I finish these slimes. Clearing this path was also one of my commissions."
Chongyun stops mid-grab before nodding. Xingqiu is unfortunately less cooperative.
"We helped you with your commission, surely you'll let us take some of the prize too."
"Aren't you all for justice and chivalry? It's very unrighteous of you to try and steal from the poor and needy." You respond with a shrug as the last slime gets happily thrown off.
It may come from the perk of being the creator but it's still a bit creepy how much they like being thrown off the bridge. But the slimes are also quite cute, so it's forgiven.
The whole creator cult thing was a different story.
"Well then shouldn't you-" "That's enough, the bridge is clear let's get going."
Cutting off Xingqiu you begin to lightly push him across the bridge. Although he does stop talking, he begins to lean even more on your hands.
Man was he heavy, the game didn't exactly give the best body portions. Xingqiu looked quite slim, but sword training gives muscles and Xingqiu is not exception.
He even had the nerve to take out a book and begin reading leaving you with the job of pushing him.
A nice little prank is schemed as you pushed him quietly to the end of the bridge where Chongyun was waiting for you both.
Chongyun turns in your direction and sighs tiredly at Xingqiu's antics. Xingqiu begins to close the book and you smile secretively. With a quick sidestep, your hands leave his back and he falls backward onto the bridge.
The teens begin to laugh as the adults control their laughter better. You smirk down at the annoyed Xingqiu as he moves his book off his face.
"Since I did the manual labor of pushing you all the way here, I'm sure you'll let me keep the full reward."
"Fuck you" You simply flip him off before turning to the elderly man and adults with a pleasant smile.
"Hello, which one of you had filed this bridge as a commission?" Money came first, you didn't want the commissioner to slip away. You didn't even have to worry about the time limit due to the amount of slimes you had to throw off.
"That would be me, thank you for your work." The elderly man hands you the bag of rewards. You turn around to where Chongyun was helping Xingqiu up.
"You did help so do you want a portion of the rewards?"
"I only accept the base fee for exorcism jobs. It was your idea that made it possible to cross so I don't need any mora." He shakes his head firmly and you nod in acceptance.
More mora for you after all! Pocketing the money, you ignore Xingqiu who's holding out his hand for some of the reward. He tsk'd at your action as Chongyun sighs tiredly at the conflict between you two.
"I do have another commission about a kidnapping case. A group of treasure hoarders kidnapped two adults, some teenagers, and children. We followed the path here, are you part of the group that were kidnapped?" You direct your question to the adults and teenagers as they begin to sigh in relief.
"Yes, but we're only part of the group." The first adult who looks to be an older woman speaks with tears of relief. "After we were taken, we got to a clearing of some sort in Guilt Plains and the Fatui were there. We tried to escape when they began to fight but we were caught."
"When we got to the bridge the slimes were starting to crowd it, so they tied us on the other end and crossed the bridge with the children and a few teenagers. Thankfully Mr. Dao untied us, and we helped him cross the bridge." The second adult a man who couldn't be older than 20 explained with a hoarse voice.
"There's no way we could defeat the hoarders to save the children and the bridge was overfilled with slimes. But not only did you clear the bridge, but you all seem strong enough to save the kids. Please save them, my son is still with them too." The woman clasps her hands with budding tears as she looks at you.
"The information you gave us is invaluable. I can assure you that we'll keep working on this case." Carefully picking your words, you do your best to comfort the mother. Her gaunt figure and poorly maintained features are a clear indicator of her poverty. She's not the first mother you've seen suffer like this in poverty.
"May the creator bless you with luck in all that you do." She whispers pressing her lips against her hands. Muttered prayers are carried by the wind as you begin climbing up the path with the quiet vision holders.
The mood in your group is somber from the earlier conversation. Leaves flutter in the air with the rising height and birds circle the mountain. After crossing a small wooden bridge, you all get to an archway with a blue tile roof, and a large bell hangs motionlessly above. Small statues of frogs litter the area seeming to watch you.
There were also mini stone statues of you too. Fancy clothes adorn the small statues with a matching hat. It was cute but it seemed to remind Chongyun and Xingqiu that you were all entering the adepti area.
They both hesitate at the gate with conflicted expressions. Neither of them have the sigil of permission and you sure as hell don't have one. They probably could enter while you were playing as it was under the creator's command but that didn't apply here.
Even still you grab their hands and drag them past the gate. "Why are you two standing there like idiots? There are children scared out of their mind with no clue on whether help is coming or not."
"This is the home of the adepti, without a sigil of permission we aren't allowed to enter less we face punishment." Xingqiu speaks but he still allows you to pull him.
"What's more important? The lives of innocent children or the privacy of beasts that are meant to protect the lives of people of Liyue which would include those children. If the adepti can't forgive our intrusion, then they are shameful to the creator. And the creator's will overpowers all others."
You release their hands and continue hiking. Both boys walk at your swift pace with a seemingly fond look. It seems that creator perk of them becoming inclined to you is starting to affect them.
After a while you all find a man sitting on a small structure with an axe by his side. The sun is already starting to creep down, but you need a break. Chongyun starts walking to the man but not before saying, "I'll ask him for any information. You aren't used to this terrain yet Y/N, rest up in the meantime."
Were you really that obvious? In embarrassment you pat away the dust and dirt from your clothes. The snicker from Xingqiu makes you glare at him with a flustered face.
"Quit laughing before I push you off this mountain." Your mumble only makes him laugh at you more. Fed up, you shoulder him making him stumble at the unexpected action.
Now annoyed he moves to shoulder you back, but Chongyun is already pulling you behind him.
"Xingqiu can you stop fighting with Y/N?"
"Chongyun it isn't good to misunderstand situations like these. They really started it this time."
"I have no clue what he's talking about. I was tired and started to lean on Xingqiu. It's not my fault he wasn't strong enough to hold up my weight."
Xingqiu chuckles in disbelief at your innocent words as Chongyun shakes his head. "Xingqiu, you can't really expect me to believe you. You do stuff like this all the time to me."
You stick your tongue out at Xingqiu over Chongyun's shoulder as he smiles sharply at you. He silently fumes as you grin mockingly at him.
"Now back to the mission, the man Pan Guan'er is a lumbar jack looking for his axe. He said that he only sat down to rest recently and hadn't seen anyone passing by. We should keep hiking up and maybe we'll find more clues."
Nodding you all keep hiking but again you feel that sense of unease. It seems you aren't the only one as Xingqiu starts questioning Chongyun as you all cross a pond.
"A lumbar jack in the adepti area? How strange. That job requires a lot of strength so what kind of build did he have?"
"He was more on the slender side with muscles on his legs being the most prominent." Chongyun recalls as he stares down at the floor.
Muscles on the legs rather than the arms? There's no way he's a lumbar jack. You turn around first and freeze at the sight of Pan and two treasure hoarders sneaking up.
"Watch out!" One of the hoarders already has a crossbow about to shoot and you react quick enough to tackle both guys to the floor.
An arrow may have only done some damage while you played the game, but this was real life. You weren't sure if you could save either of them if they got hit in a vital spot. Let alone an organ like an eye.
The situation dawns on them as you all scramble up to avoid the attacks coming your way. A masked hoarder begins to load up another arrow as the biggest man charges with a hammer. Pan Guan'er slips a mask onto his face and readies a pair of throwing knives.
Chongyun defends you and Xingqiu from the hammer by blocking with his claymore. The heavy clang and subsequent swings of the hefty weapons in combat let you and Xingqiu go around and battle the others.
Xingqiu follows the crossbow hoarder as he backs away tactically from the agile boy. Your sickle is summoned, and your swing is electro-charged against Pan if that even was his name.
He dodges at the last minute and kicks your side making you bite back the groan. Knives slash at your clothes and are thrown at your neck as you dodge them all while being careful to avoid his legs.
You're unrelenting once you get an opening to attack. The blunt side of your sickle leaves bruises on his body as you cautiously leave shallow cuts. You can't let him die just yet.
The fight is so familiar that your body follows the movements easily. Reminiscent of all the street fights you participated while homeless. It's the jobs from your old boss that would get physical that seem to crowd your mind the most.
The fight is over before you know it with your sickle on his neck keeping him pinned down on the ground. Xingqiu climbs back up with a frustrated expression that softens at the sight of your victory.
"He fell off the cliff while I was chasing him. Who in their right mind backs up without checking?" He sighs as Chongyun comes over with blood staining the end of his pants.
"He lost too much blood and couldn't answer any questions I had. Hopefully, we get more luck with Pan." Pan gulps nervously at the sight of all three of you staring down at him.
"Why did you kidnap those people? What happened with the Fatui? But if you can't answer those questions then you better be able to answer where those children are now." The sickle presses against his neck harder letting a stream of blood trickle down.
"We heard that the Fatui needed people, so we agreed to kidnap some for them! The money they brought wasn't to the bosses liking so we fought. For some reason they retreated, and we took the people here to escape."
"And where are they now?" Pan avoids your eyes as he sweats. If he wasn't going to say more then you'll have to force it out of him. The loud crunch of bones breaking can be heard alongside Pan's screams.
Chongyun lifts his claymore and slams the dull side onto his leg mercilessly. It's surprising to see this sharp chilliness from him but it saves you the trouble.
Pan's arm swings up to hit your side, the knife glinting in his hand as he grunts angrily. "I'm gonna-! Hurk-"
His words are cut off as a sword stabs his arm back into the ground. The blood seeps through and spills onto the grass and pond as tears and snot dribble down his face.
Disgusting
What right does he have to cry? He's not the parent who's worried over their child with a dangerous fate. He's not the child stolen and at the mercy of adults with malicious intentions.
"We split up! I was staying here on Qingyun Peak to throw off any Fatui members that might come while the prisoners were taken to Mt. Hulao!" He sobs out and you draw your sickle back in disbelief.
Mt. Hulao? That was the mountain right across from here! You would have to climb down, cross the river, and then climb back up. They could go anywhere by then!
Shit, shit. What were you supposed to do?
Chongyun and Xingqiu seem just as conflicted as the draw their weapons away. Now free and bleeding, Pan begins to crawl away. Chongyun moves to detain him again, but you stop him with a hand on his shoulder.
"Leave him be, we got the information we needed. Besides, he'll bleed to death before he finds any help."
Xingqiu seems to be deep in thought as he stares off the cliff in the direction of Mt. Hulao. He talks with Chongyun about any possible paths to it as you stand a little farther on the side.
Warily you bring up the game screen and press the map quickly. You didn't have enough privacy or time to control one of your characters to save the children, but you could zoom in on the mountain through the map.
There you spot a flat area on Qingyun Peak facing Mt. Hulao. If you could climb higher, you could glide to the mountain saving loads of time and energy. You let that little flame of hope ignite and close the game window in a hurry.
"I have an idea, you both have gliders, right?" You ask with an excited smile as they nod in unison. Wordlessly they understand your plan and follow you up the mountain.
The path is littered with flat rocks and plants that your feet carelessly trample on. Trees, lamps, and archways are ignored as the sky starts to turn a soft shade of orange. Time is running out.
The clearing comes into view as the amber-imbued mountain stands proudly across. A huge stone circle is nearly consumed by the wildlife as you all walk to the edge.
Red ropes tied to the trees holding small signs are on your left and on the right is a strange device with two of your mini statues guarding it. A mechanical stone doll of yourself stands there with gold rings around the joints. Was that a pull-apart and put-back-together statue of yourself?
This was Moon Carver's Mountain, so it belongs to him. Maybe Cloud Retainer made it for him. You eye the path on the right that leads further up the mountain to his home. It was weird to think that even the high and mighty acting adepti worshipped you too.
The edge of the mountain makes your palms sweaty as you peek down. It's a long drop. Forcibly you activate the glider as Xingqiu and Chongyun stand next to you calmly.
"You look quite nervous Y/N, this must be your first time using one. Did you not get your license?" Too nervous to be annoyed you answer with a chuckle.
"Nope, but what the Millelith doesn't know, won't hurt them. Besides they're pretty crappy anyway." The soft breeze helps cool you down as you stare straight ahead.
"Just hold onto us if you're that nervous. If you're really scared, then I can just carry you." Xingqiu replies as he holds his arms out. It's teasingly in your eyes but he's very serious.
"Can't do that, I have to learn to glide by myself ya'know? But I will take you up on the first offer." You grab Xingqiu's right hand and turn to Chongyun.
His glare at Xingqiu softens when you look at him. Wordlessly with a shy look he holds his left hand out. Internally he's relieved that you didn't accept Xingqiu's offer to carry you. He knows him well enough to know that he was serious about that offer.
Hyping yourself up that this cliff wasn't as terrifying as you thought, you jumped off the cliff gripping their hands tightly. It's just like building parkour, it's just like building parkour. The chant is repeated as you keep your eyes closed from the wind.
"You can open your eyes now, Y/N." Chongyun's calm voice coaxes you as a playful voice continues. "Just don't flail around too much."
Slowly you open your eyes to the sight of the passing birds and Mt. Hulao slowly approaching. The wind is soft as it caresses your face while the wind pushes you all higher into the air.
"As long as neither of you let me go, then this will be a nice and easy flight." You direct your quip to Xingqiu. "And if someone does decide to be a dick then I'll let go of Chongyun and bring Xingqiu down with me."
"Real subtle Y/N."
"Aren't I always?"
"I have to thank the creator for keeping the wind in the direction we need. The faster we get to the mountain, the faster we can search for the kids. Plus, you two can stop fighting for at least 5 minutes."
"Y/N, do you see what kind of bad influence you are? Chongyun never acts this way."
"Don't blame me, it's not my fault he's sick of your antics."
Chongyun sighs softly as you and Xingqiu continue bickering until you all land on Mt. Hulao next to a chunk of amber. You mimic Xingqiu and Chongyun who mutter a prayer of thanks to the creator.
The orange-pinkish hue of the sky is now a soft purple as the amber seems to glow. You knock on the tall amber and listen to the hollowness of the mineral.
"Don't get distracted Y/N! We have to hurry or else they might get away." You jump at the sudden call and catch up with the duo. The cold air is starting to make you a bit cold as you follow the path.
"Isn't it a bit strange that there aren't any monsters here? I mean the adepti wouldn't bother killing elemental creatures or even any monsters unless they actively disturbed them."
"I think that's the answer," Chongyun responds quietly to Xingqiu's question as he points ahead.
Right at the edge of the giant hole in the middle of the mountain was a few bodies. No, a few corpses.
Treasure hoarders lay on the ground, against the wall, and even in the bushes with battered bodies. Claw marks, arrows, puncture wounds, and even arrows are inflicted on the bodies. The only explanation would be that a group of hilichurls attacked them.
Walking closer you touch the blood and let it drip off your finger. "It's cold but not dry. They were here not long ago; they must be up the mountain."
Walking up the mountain with the guys in tow you wipe the blood off on an amber chunk. As you all keep climbing, more and more bodies are found, thankfully none of them are of kids.
As the path turns to stone staircases amber chunks become more frequent. Xingqiu peers into one and bites his lip.
"The amber is also encasing some of the hoarders. That's usually the fate for anyone who climbs Mt. Hulao."
"We should leave them to the creator's mercy. They're either dead or going to die. Not to mention Mountain Shaper isn't known for his grace." Chongyun responds as you glance at the passing amber coldly.
Finally at the top of the mountain you stare at the big trees with burgundy leaves, Cor Lapis are rooted around the trunks. Yelling and crying can be heard as you climb the last few steps to finally see the situation.
Mountain Shaper stands in front of his cave in the usual form of a crane as he stares down at the only standing treasure hoarder. Multiple dead bodies lay in the shallow water as the water changed to red. The hoarder is yelling something but the soft cries on your left are the only thing you hear.
Yiran is kneeling in the water as she sobs clutching a boy's hand. His features so similar to the woman you met at the bridge. Yet the pink hue of the water and dull eyes make your heart clench at having to present her with his body.
"Mortal of treachery, you and your kin invaded my mountain seeking to hide your crime and escape with your lives. Let the amber of my mountain encase you till only dust remains!"
With a flap of his wings, the last hoarder is consumed by amber with a horrified expression clear. You stare in awe at the display of power as the amber crumbles into dust and scatters among the water.
Mountain Shaper turns his attention to your group with irritation. "Intruders left to right. At the very least you three have no scent of corruption and evil, I'm sure you came for the children. The others are on Mt. Aocang under Cloud Retainers care."
The mountain seems to rumble as he walks slowly towards you all with glowing red eyes. "Yet you all trespassed on my and Moon Carver's residence. Foolish and arrogant mortals you all are, your punishment will be swift and painless."
Your heart pounds in your chest as you promptly reply but not toward Mountain Shaper.
"Yiran! Your father Kuan is waiting for you at the city. He's been worried sick about you, he commissioned me to find and save you."
"Really?" She quietly replies, "Daddy sent you? I-I want to go home! I wanna see Daddy!" She sniffles before bursting into tears.
Mountain Shaper stands in front of you with narrowed eyes. "What caliber of schemes did you plan to follow through with such an action?"
"Do you or the other adepti plan to come to the city and find the people those children belong to yourself? How do you plan on calming down traumatized children?" He scoffs at your questions and glowers at you.
"The sole reason I have not imprisoned your form despite your conceited words is due to the scent of Teyvat that surrounds you. Your comrades will care for the children while we can investigate you."
He spreads his wing into Yiran's direction silently commanding the guys to care for her. Warily they move away from you and tend to Yiran trying to calm her down.
"Answer my questions and you and your team may live. Who are you masked trespasser and why does the scent of Teyvat surround you?"
It's strange, why doesn't he recognize you? They never accepted any gnosis so the corruption from Celestia should never have affected them. Nor would they ever forget the elemental worship due to their distaste for human culture, but wouldn't they remind Morax of it too?
The adepti are under Morax's command as they all fought under him. Plus, they must all have their own contracts with him. What if that was the reason? Maybe the corruption affected them on a subconscious level leading them to not realize how they were affected by the gnosis.
"I'm Y/N, and that scent is from my occupation. I'm the creator's oracle and as the creator's vast powers protect me, Teyvat protects me under the creator's orders."
Mocking laughter echoes around the area once you finish explaining. You already expected this reaction, what thousands of year-olds mystical beings would believe a mortal would be made into an oracle? Instead, you focus on Yiran's softening cries as she's comforted by the duo.
They seem to be instructing her to pray to you. Chongyun shows her a form as Xingqiu recites a prayer that goes unheard. It's something about protection, healing, and thankfulness. It almost makes you want to laugh if the situation wasn't so horrible.
"He protected me and now he's dead. It's all my fault, it's all my fault!" She breaks down again during the prayer as they continue trying to soothe her. This memory will stay with her forever, Kuan isn't going to get the same daughter back. If she wasn't traumatized by the kidnapping, this preteen's death will.
Doesn't make it any less fucked up that when something like this happens, everyone's first thought is to pray to you. That's probably why everyone is so fanatic about you. It happens on Earth with minor obsessive religions but here in Teyvat it's widespread.
"Interloper or rather Y/N the teller of falsehoods, the adepti as a group will decide whether you deserve to live in shame or die for your crimes." It's a shame that the fan won't work in this case but that never stopped you before.
"And what about my friends? You said that they may live if I answered, which I did, but I don't believe you're that generous. If anyone must face punishment for trespassing, it should be me as I dragged them along. They're not the ones who are receiving payment, I am."
It was the least you could do, they helped you a lot and they didn't deserve to die for your reckless decision. Even if you don't regret it.
"How noble of you falsifier. Those acolytes may live and bring those children back to their homes. I'll even wrap this body to be presented to whatever careless parent that let their child be taken."
Oh, hell no
"With all the disrespect I can muster, shut your damn trap. What right do you have to speak about careless parents? That boy's mom was taken alongside him, you have no idea what kind of sacrifices she may or may not have made for him! If we're going to speak about carelessness, why don't you explain why all you adepti thought it was right to fill Qiqi with enough adepti energy that it harmed her to such a horrible degree?"
The air went cold and amber rose around you in a cage-like form. He was furious but you were too.
"Oh, I will rejoice once your little story is exposed as the fabrication it is. I'll decide your punishment and seek out how you learned about this. I pray to the creator of all beings that your death will be as painful and long as when I was forced to incase that dying child in amber to prevent her destruction."
His condescending tone is paired with a fiery glare that you deliver right back. Chongyun carries Yiran who passed out from exhaustion. Xingqiu carries the now mummified body of the dead boy with a troubled look.
The heron stands in the middle of the pond and spreads both his wings. The pond alights with yellow and red forcing you to close your eyes.
When your eyes reopen, you find yourself in a different body of water. A small table in the middle, lily pads between the rocks in the water and the multiple eyes staring at you are a near comfort.
What a familiar scenery.
Chongyun and Xingqiu are surrounded by the rest of the missing kids as the stumble from the sudden teleportation. Hurt but thankfully unharmed, the children light up at the sight of the famailair Liyue figures.
Two cranes, a stag, and a very familiar goat-featured lady stand around you. You always wondered how Ganyu's hair stayed in a ponytail look without a hair tie.
"I regret to inform you all that this mortal has claimed to be the creator's oracle."
Shocked eyes are drawn to your imprisoned form with the exception of your teammates. The rising moon seems to shine on the water around you like a spotlight. Your face is neutral as your sharp smile hides in your heart.
Yet another situation where you'll make best with what you have. The more untrusting eyes, the more relief you'll feel when you trick them with convenient words painted under the guise of truth.
It has always been like this, and even if you're sick and tired, you'll still do it. At this point, it's the only thing that you trust. So, you'll keep spouting lies until even you believe them. Besides...
Lying always was your best skill.
I finished!!! There was so many obstacles! My house started going under construction so I took off work and spent this whole week moving stuff. Then moving it back, And then cleaning it. And then restocking it. You get the idea. The beginning of this chap is really rough due to me switching between moving and cleaning plus being a lil rusty. But I think I got back to the flow as it went on. Everything sort of worked out in the end but Y/N just can't catch a break. Now the whole kidnap case seemed maybe random to ya'll but how else was I supposed to bring Y/N into adepti territory? It's a fact that travelers are encased in amber or punished for going to Jueyun Karst. I just hope I fleshed it out enough that it was enjoyable. Oh and that scene with Pan Guan'er was inspired by the actual NPC that sits there. When you walk by, two treasure hoarders spawn behind you. I genuinely think that NPC is sus as hell. I also wanna direct anyone interested in what the mask could look like to this post. The wonderful @the-dumber-scaramouche made fanart of her version of Y/N! It's so beautiful! The Truth (part two)
uhhhh, kinda late as I did lotsa procrastinating, but better late than never ig? ^^”
since I did Mondstadt first, I’m just gonna continue chronologically, and I think I’ll keep the categories of people that I did in part one, since it makes structuring and all that a lot easier!
Liyue
alright, starting off, the ones who would notice that you’re the real creator: Ninguan, Yelan, Zhongli, (Bonus: Madame Ping)
for Zhongli I think it’d be the same as with Venti, meaning he instantly notices that you aren’t quite what you seem to be (or rather try to be). But even still with the knowledge of that, he’d take quite a long time to figure out who you actually are. Before stepping down as archon, he was the god of contracts and by extension law, so he tends to somewhat look at the world in black and white, which means that since there already is a celebrated divine creator, you couldn’t possibly be another (or that the current one is the fake). After stepping down he just tries to not be involved with anything too related to the gods, so while he doesn’t stop worshipping the divine creator, he just has less to do with it in a more general sense
Ninguan and Yelan are very involved with the laws and government of Liyue, so they immediately suspect something when you bring them the ‘free travel pass’ you got from Impostor-chan. Along with that they’re both really observant and probably kept an eye on you, which leads to them eventually finding out.
Bonus: Madam Ping (bc i like her) She would definetly know the truth the moment she saw you. How? No idea, she just does. While she is a bit kinder to you, she still treats you like a normal human being, probably gave you a Serenitea Pot for safer housing whilke you travel. I also think she would find it extremely funny to watch Zhongli stumble around the truth, especially since he’d be one of the later ones to realise.
next up, the ones who would think something is suspicious, but don’t realise the exact truth or just don’t have enough evidence: Hu Tao, Shenhe, Yanfei, Xinqiu
Hu Tao and Shenhe are a bit hard to decide which category they go into, since they’d know something is up but they don’t really care too much for different reasons. Hu Tao mostly notices that there are constantly happy spirits floating around you, but as long as they’re not causing trouble she lets it go. Shenhe meanwhile just isn’t around civilisation and humans too often, so even if you’re somewhat strange it doesn’t faze her
Yanfei seems like she kinda knows what’s up, but is in denial. She believes in law and honesty, so there is no way the divine creator would lie to them! And if she was worshipping a ‘false god’ all this time, that would mean she broke so many laws, which just can’t be the truth!
Xinqiu would probably also be borderline too devoted, but at the same time he’s smart, so he probably questions anything suspicous about you. He’s read so many books about you and your myths, that he can easily see the similarities, though unfortunately (for him) he doesn’t have anything too concrete. If only he could get actual proof instead of just constant theories and ‘coincidences’, maybe then he could worship the ‘real you’
the ones who are too devoted to question the ‘divine ruler’ would be: Chongyun, Ganyu, Keqing, Xiao
Both Keqing and Xiao are already pretty obvious with their worship of Morax in canon. Now multiply that by a lot, and you have two people who would do and believe anything their ‘creator’ wants them to. They might either harbour a bit of jealousy that the divine creator chose you over their devoted acolytes, or they will kind of worship you by association. Maybe a bit of both depending on the day
Chongyun is somewhat similar to Barbara. His family is very spiritual and gives off a pretty religious vibe, so it’s basically impossible for him to question the legitimacy of Impostor-chan. Him being completely oblivious to you also makes for a fun dynamic with Xinqiu, who constantly tries to nudge him towards the truth but keeps on failing
Ganyu, while not as devoted at Keqing and Xiao or Chongyun, is just devoted enough to not notices anything off. That, and she is constantly busy, so there is not much time to think too much about you
and lastly, the ones who either don’t care or don’t really seem religious are: Beidou, Qiqi, Xianling, Xinyan, Yun Jin
Beidou and Xinyan are very free-spirited, and tend to go against social norms. They don’t really care if you’re kinda weird sometimes, whether they have suspicions on the actual truth or not, because they see you more as just another person who enjoys freedom and expression of self
Xianling and Yun Jin are both very friendly and passionate people. Similar to Beidou and Xinyan they mostly think of you as a new friend with whomst they can share their passions with! Especially since you travel a lot, Xianling will ask you about exotic food while Yun Jin wants to know about the dance and music traditions you’ve encountered
Qiqi is kinda obvious I think. Maybe back when she was human she worshipped the divine creator, but since her ressurection she often forgets a lot of things. Even so, she is happy that each time you meet her, she can somehow remember you! You always try to help her remember what she’s supposed to be doing at the moment as well, which for some reason is so much easier when you’re around
(oh wow, I kinda wrote a lot more than I thought I would. Can you tell that Liyue is my favourite reagion xd? I think I might do another special part for the vaious non-playable characters that are cool, like Osial, Azdaha or the Cloud Retainer. Anyways, hope y’all liked this part, and I’ll try to keep writing as best as I can!)
(also, special thanks to the anon who wrote that Albedo drabble! it kinda gave me the motivation to finally continue with this au :D)

Baking therapy on a budget Ft. Genshin Characters: Chongyun - Pasta salad
Tumblr media
Hey, every birdy. Today we are going to be looking at one of my all-time favorite summer dishes. Because it is so simple and honest because it is best served cold.
Tumblr media
The character that best suits this recipe is Chongyun or popsicle boy. Yes, I know that his real recipe would in fact be a popsicle. But I had no idea how to make a popsicle when I didn’t have popsicle sticks at the ready. Chongyun (chun-young) is a young man from Liyue who is an exorcist but is not very good because he gives off too much yang energy, and therefore the spirits are already gone by the time he tries to exercise them. And his favorite foods are cold things.
Tumblr media
The recipe and the measurements will be down in the description below.
Tumblr media
This is one of those recipes that I grew up eating, and it is hard to actually right out a recipe. Because it is so diverse. Each time we eat it, it is so different. But there are some things that always stay the same. Like the pasta.
Tumblr media
So what you will need for a good pasta salad is:
Pasta of any shape will do
Mayo
Mustard
Pickles
Onions
Celery or some other crunch
Hard boiled eggs
Lunch meat or cooked meat
Any other produce that you may have on hand
Tumblr media
The first thing you are going to do is cook your pasta, and boil your eggs. Once they are both done, place them in separate bowls and set them in the fridge so that they can chill for at least 1-2 hours.
Tumblr media
After the pasta has cooled you are going to grab the biggest bowl you have and place the pasta in it.
Tumblr media
Now you will want to cut up your eggs, and place them in the bowl.
Tumblr media
Using whatever produce you have on hand, cut them up and put them in the bowl. The options for the produce are endless. I have had pasta salad SO many times in my life, and I don’t think i have ever had the same one twice. So you chose what produce you want.
Tumblr media
The same goes for proteins. If you want this dish to be heavy on the veggies and less on the meat, then you could simply add in some beans. The options are endless. It is very common for our household to go this route in the summer because it is hot and we really don’t want a lot of meat.
Tumblr media
Once you have all of your fixings cut up and in the bowl, you can make your dressing. For this you are going to add mayo, mustard and a little bit of pickles and the juice for the extra kick. But if that seems to bland for your liking, you could add ranch or any other type of salad dressing. Italian dressing is good for this as well.
The possibilities are endless, enjoy your pasta salad.
Tumblr media
This is probably one of the first recipes I know from heart. I would help my mom make this every summer and she would tell me “we are going to be using what we have.” And so pasta salad has become one of the most versatile things in our house.
Tumblr media
I hope that you liked this recipe.  Feel free to check it out for yourself. See you in the next post. Thank you.
Pinterest: Here
Recipe: Here
Ingredients
1 package of Pasta of any shape will do
1 Cup Mayo - enough to cover the pasta
2 Tablespoons Mustard - if you like mustard add more, if you are like my mom and I add just enough to make it have a mustard taste
¼ cup Pickles + juice - you don’t want have to much, just enough to have a tangy flavor
1 Cup - Salad Dressing of your choice- If you don’t want to use the mayo+mustard dressing you can just add in your dressing
1 or 2 Onions - depending on the size of your onions
1 bunch Celery or some other crunch
12 or 14  Hard boiled eggs
Lunch meat or cooked meat
Any other produce that you may have on hand
Cook the pasta according to the package. Place it in a bowl in the fridge once it is done. Then cook your eggs, and place them in the fridge in a bowl of water for about 1 to 2 hours. Grab the biggest bowl that you have and dump your pasta into, cut up your eggs and place them into the bowl. Cut up your produce and place in the bowl. Add the dressing of your choice, either the mayo and mustard or the salad dressing. Mix everything together and either eat right away, or chill it for a bit longer.

Genshin Characters and their Gender
🔸Liyue men edition🔸
Note: Personal opinion! I respect everyone else's opinion as to what they think the characters' gender are. I do not claim these to be facts or the only acceptable gender. For fun only! (since there are no official genders stated by Hoyo
Other blogs: [Masterlist] [Liyue Women Gender]
Tumblr media
💙Xingqiu - Gay
Gay - man attracted to man, sometimes referred to as one being attracted to the same sex.
He is a closeted gay.
Based on those bits of interactions Hoyo gave, I have a personal assumption that he likes Chongyun, and even if that is not the case, I find their dynamic as a ship quite itneresting.
Xingqiu probably has had a crush on Chongyun for a while- however, there's Chongyun who probably has no idea and just sees him as a friend.
Xingqiu seems to be quite closeted about his gender, especially since his family/prents seems like they might be very strict towards him (who are big and important people involved in big businesses/have a well known family name in Liyue).
Tumblr media
🩵Chongyun - Straight/Heteroflexible
Heteroflexible - mostly straight- but not fully.
Growing up, all his crushes would have been girls (as well as his present crushes) However, I feel like he is actually, possibly, a little open to having feelings for guys, deep down (without him fully knowing it.)
Chongyun identified as straight for his whole life, and he hasn't been attracted to any other guy, so with that as his reference, he is completely straight.
BUT if there were one person to make him bi or attracted to guys that would be up to his guy best friend. (ehem Xingqiu) though, it would take him quite a while to realize it, if ever he caught feelings.
But if it's not his best friend that he gains feelings for, then he would be mostly straight for his whole life.
Tumblr media
🧡Childe/Tartaglia - Straight
(I know Tartaglia x Zhongli fanbase is massive and I still respect it! this is just my own opinion ^-^)
The vibe I have for him is giving straight/heterosexual vibes. Not much thoughts on as to why honestly, but if I had to guess one, I'd say straight.
An additional influence to my opinion might be the Tartaglia x Lumine content I see (which I personally ended up shipping)
Tumblr media
💚Xiao - Demi-panromantic, Demi-pansexual
Demi - Establishing an emotional bond before forming any attraction; Panromantic/Pansexual - Romantic and sexual attraction to any sex or gender identity.
Xiao is an adeptus, and adepti come and go in all sorts of forms, so it doesn't matter who would he potentially be attracted to since adepti can choose their own form: be it man, woman, adeptus creature, spirit, etc. He would be more focused on who they are regardless of form.
Xiao would be more like to experience the romantic feelings first only after getting to know them. For Xiao, the bond is first, then the romantic attraction, then later on: the physical attraction.
It's towards someone who first understands him, brings him comfort, who he is comfortable around, and who is able to give him the love he had been needing.
Xiao is deep down a soft boy with repressed emotions, it's when he finally feels comfort in being loved (which he avoids due to his fear of tainting others with his karmic debt) does he eventually fall romantically or allow himself to fall, so it's regardless of 'what' gender and more of 'who, why, and how'.
Tumblr media
🧡Zhongli - Demi-panromantic, Pansexual
Demi - Establishing an emotional bond before forming any attraction; Panromantic/pansexual - Romantic/sexual attraction to any sex or gender identity.
Just like other adepti, Rex Lapis (Zhongli) can take on many forms, so it doesn't matter what form or being he can get attracted to since Rex Lapis himself can change his form.
He's also come across thousands and thousands of beings, so he is used to meeting all sorts of people. So if ever he were to meet a potential love interest, the two of them would need to have established a little bit of a bond (or even just a bit of familiarity/getting to know them) before he could have such feelings for them.
Though he wouldn't be as uptight about it, unlike Xiao who would be more reserved for such feelings, Zhongli wouldn't take as long to fall either, and he know right away if he ever started having feelings for someone, romantic or sexual (He would only show his interest if he feels like the timing and their circumstances in life is just right for both of them.)
His romantic feelings would be harder to reach than his sexual feelings, he can have physical desires casually but seldom act upon it.
As an Archon, he seldom would even experience the need for these feelings, but it wouldn't be impossible for him now to gain romantic attraction out of the thousands and thousands of years of his existence (especially that now he lives as mortal Zhongli, not as the previous Archon Rex Lapis.)
Tumblr media
💚Baizhu - ???
I honestly thought real long and hard about this- (since he was the only male left and I didn't want to exclude him) but I honestly can't think of anything T^T
This man makes me feel like he can say anything and I'd agree (straight? Gay? Demi? Pan? Aro? Etc.) I'd say I'd just let the media tell me what he could be, what do you guys think?
Let me know your gender headcannons in the comments! :)

Hii! Could you do a lee!chongyun and ler!xingqiu fic/drabble? If you prefer elaborated prompts(sry if that came off as rude, I've just seen lots of fic writers ask for elaboration so they aren't left with a complete blank slate) maybe something pre-canon where Xingqiu hears Chongyun's laugh and realizes he's in love after noticing that the way he compliments it is just like characters from a romance novel? Tyy in advance(either way for opening up rqs in the first place) and have a nice day 💖
Golden Smiles and Silky Laughter
Xingqiu and Chongyun (Genshin Impact)
a/n: god if you think i did not absolutely go crazy while i was writing this, you’re wrong. i’m. man i love these two so much and they’re so canon and so ticklish LOL but no i enjoyed writing this sm you don’t even understand so thank you for requesting this and i hope you enjoy. also, i made this like super extremely romantic so uh. yeah.
summary: xingqiu can’t stop falling more and more in love with chongyun. that’s it. that’s the story.
warnings: tickles, kissing, possibly cheesy LOL
word count: 1.4k
——
“Is he gone?” Chongyun whispers, looking around the corner. Xingqiu quickly puts a finger to his lips. After a moment, Xingqiu looks around the corner as well. He takes his finger away and looks at Chongyun, finally noticing just how close he was to his friend. Too close! He had to resist the urge to look down at the other’s lips as he coughed. Luckily, it didn’t seem like Chongyun had noticed the other’s close proximity or his internal panic.
“Ahem— it seems he’s gone. I suppose we can come out of hiding now.” Xingqiu casually coughs into his hand. They had been hiding from Xu, who was trying to find the young master before he snuck away.
“It was close this time.” Chongyun comments as the two step away from the building they were hiding behind.
“Yes, but we weren’t caught. So let’s go now!” Xingqiu smiles, tugging Chongyun’s sleeve. The other, as always, smiles back as he follows along with the reader’s antics.
He only stops when he finds a pavilion the two would often spend time at. It was sort of a secret spot between them since the pavilion was a bit far so people stopped visiting it.
“Here we are.” Xingqiu sighed, contently. They walk over to the table. “Oh, wait until you hear what happened in this novel I read!” Xingqiu rambling about the stories he read to Chongyun was nothing uncommon. Chongyun sat down, nodding.
“What book is it this time?”
“Young and Hopelessly Smitten! It was sweet and wholesome yet inspiring and courageous, I would say.”
“That’s an interesting title. What is it about?” Chongyun asked, happy to indulge Xingqiu in his hobby.
“Well…” Xingqiu starts, beginning his rant and unconsciously loving how Chongyun was one of the only people who could see this side of him and feel accepted for it.
——
“What?! No way that happens!” Chongyun giggles like a schoolgirl at a certain comedic part in the novel. Xingqiu pauses for a moment, staring at Chongyun and he bathes in the sound of his laughter. It feels golden, yet soft like silk. Xingqiu loves it. Which is only natural because he loves everything about Chongyun.
He also doesn’t realize he said that out loud until he catches the look on his friend’s face. A rosy red blush adorned on Chongyun’s face causes one to form on his own. He covers his face with his hand, realizing what exactly he said and how it eerily sounds like one of the lines that the love interest said in the same exact novel he was talking about with Chongyun. He cursed himself. How could he say such cheesy things!
“Xingqiu.” Chongyun’s voice came out breathy and shaky, as he brings his hand to grab Xingqiu’s own to take a look at his face. “Are you.. blushing?”
Xingqiu has experienced very many difficult situations. Times where he had to improvise and adapt to the new turn of events. And he was good at it. Yet, why is it now could he not find even one word to say?
“I- yes- I mean no! Uh- Don’t ask!” He sputtered, embarrassingly. He shoved his hands to Chongyun’s mouth before he could comment on the fact that yes, Xingqiu was very much blushing. Instead, Chongyun merely grabbed his wrists. Quite easily, in fact.
“I can’t believe it.. You, Xingqiu, are blushing?!” Chongyun gasped. It wasn’t even as if he was trying to tease him. He was just that surprised that the normally calm young master was redder than a Jueyun Chili.
“You don’t have to look so smug!” Xingqiu grumbled, pouncing on Chongyun to shut him up in the only way he knew how. Tickling.
“W-wahahait! Quihihit ihihit!” Chongyun burst into immediate giggles, finding himself weakened by the sensitive touches. Xingqiu kneaded at Chongyun’s sides, cooing at him as he heard the laughter he adored so much.
“Aren’t you cruel to me, Chongyun?” Xingqiu tutted, shaking his head in mock disappointment.
“Nohohoho- w-why?!” The light haired male cried, kicking his legs out. They barely missed Xingqiu so the reader took the opportunity to straddle Chongyun on the seat.
Xingqiu chuckled, relishing in every one of the exorcist’s giggles, chuckles, and laughter. He pinched at the belly fat Chongyun had as he bucked his hips. A new wave of laughter escaping his lips, before Xingqiu changed places.
“Xihihihingqiu! Plehehehease!” He pleaded, his hands moving to grab at the boy in question. Xingqiu’s hands didn’t falter as he scribbled at Chongyun’s sensitive tummy.
“My, my~ I feel as though you get more ticklish every time!” Xingqiu teased, watching the pinkness on the other’s face transition into a deep red. That was another thing he loved about Chongyun. How easily he could fluster the boy, make him blush.
“Y-youhuhuhu! Xingqi-UHUHIHUHU WHAHAHAT?!” Chongyun’s giggles rose an octave, reaching full belly laughter when Xingqiu went for the spot that he knew was certain to always drive the exorcist absolutely crazy. It was a discovery he made not too long ago, but was grateful to even know about it at all.
Chongyun’s. Hips. Were. Deathly. Ticklish. And Xingqiu was the only one who knew and he was not afraid to exploit the other’s sensitivity.
“NOHOHOHO MOHOHOHORE!!” Chongyun shrieked and squealed or did whatever you could describe the noises coming from his mouth as. Tears pricked his eyes as his laughter slowly became quieter and quieter until they were completely silent.
Taking this as a sign, Xingqiu stopped. He didn’t want to overwhelm Chongyun who was quickly catching his breath.
“Xingqiu.. why..?” The exorcist panted out, splaying his arms out as he closed his eyes.
“How could I not when your laugh is so adorable?” Xingqiu teased, poking Chongyun in the side one last time. Chongyun yelped and swatted his hand away as the reader only giggled in response.
“Mean…” Chongyun pouted, pursing his lips. Xingqiu couldn’t help but wonder how soft the exorcist’s lips would be if he were to.. Wait! No. He was definitely not about to fantasize about kissing his best friend. Not at all. “Xingqiu?”
A pause before he turned to look at Chongyun. “What is it, dear Chongyun?” Xingqiu purred, casually.
“Um, did you.. mean everything you said earlier?” He mumbled, hesitantly, scratching the back of his head.
“What ever do you mean~?” Xingqiu replied, knowing exactly what Chongyun was referring to. Chongyun stilled, thinking, hoping he could have gotten a more straight forward response.
“I- I mean, um.. nevermind.” He slumped down, defeated. Xingqiu, immediately feeling bad, sighed.
“I meant every word of it.” Xingqiu admitted, quietly. He looked at Chongyun, who seemed to be urging him to go on as Xingqiu gained some newfound courage. He exhaled, slowly, feeling his heart thrumming wildly in his chest. “I’m in love with you.”
And there it was. Something that had always been buried so deep in his heart let out in the open just like that. Xingqiu waited as the silence grew longer, awaiting what Chongyun’s response would be. But it didn’t come.
Xingqiu closed his eyes, willing the tears that threatened to fall from them to go away. He shouldn’t have done this. Now Chongyun was disgusted with him and he’s going to leave him forever and it’s going to be all his fault because he couldn’t keep his stupid feelings to himself and-
“Xingqiu..?” Chongyun’s voice muttered, slowly and for a moment, it was all he could hear as the other’s voice echoed in his mind. He slowly lifted his head up, turning to the exorcist but not quite looking him in the eyes. “I’m not good with.. words or, um.. feelings for that matter but I- I..” Chongyun’s face was beet red but Xingqiu wasn’t sure he was one to talk. “I feel the same..?”
Xingqiu’s eyes widened. He was relieved, happy. The one he had longed for for years loved him back! “Y-you silly.. why did you wait so long to reply!” Xingqiu laughed, before Chongyun chuckled.
“Well, dear Chongyun.. since it seems like our feelings are mutual, would it be okay if I kissed you?” Xingqiu asked, feeling confident once again. Chongyun only nodded, meekly. The reader cupped the exorcist’s face before meeting his lips with his own. Before he knew it, they were kissing.
It was better than anything than Xingqiu had ever imagined. Confessing to Chongyun, let alone kissing him felt like a pipedream by itself and Xingqiu could not be any happier. When they pulled away, Chongyun laughed. And again, Xingqiu was reminded of just how much he loved Chongyun’s laugh as he pulled him in again.

✯Venti✯
He didn't really notice at first.
But it was with your mood swings that he realized you weren't well.
Venti: "Honey are you okay?"
You looked at him with viper eyes and left.
He was confused but finally understood.
The next day you will see him with lots of gifts he "bought" for you.
He hugged you whenever you had cramps and did his best to stay by your side.
In these moments he will go to the tavern less often.
He's not upset when you have your mood swings.
✯Chongyun✯
He noticed right away that you weren't well. However he didn't know why and decided to ask you, if only he knew..
Chongyun: "Are you okay? you looks like you're sick."
Y/n: "Why am I going to be sick?! What are you insinuating, huh?! That I'm ugly?! Go see your stupid spirits, they're sick too!!"
And with that you left the restaurant under the amazed eyes of Xingqiux and Chongyun.
Xiangling must have guessed that you had your period.
Chongyun asked her and she explained to him.
He felt bad for you.
When you got back you saw him with Xiangling who was explaining to him how to heat water (yes for me he doesn't know how to cook) for a hot water bottle.
He will hug you apologetically and then offer you some popsicles.
He makes you hot water bottles and hugs you when you have cramps.
He will do the best he can to deal with your sudden mood swings.
✯Diluc✯
(I just realized that we can call him tamponhead because he has red hair ಠ◡ಠ)
He could see you weren't well and, being the amazing man that he is, he knew you were on your period.
He already knew what to do.
But he can't do it.He just struggles with the fact that you have mood swings and doesn't know how to deal with them.
Unfortunately he's very busy so he can't really stay with you very long.
But as soon as he can he took you in his arms and whispered sweet words to you.
✯Childe✯
Childe recognizes quite easily that you have your period(don't ask how he know.)
He will have already prepared everything and will even ask you the size for the pads/tampon (It depends on what you are using).
He will do his best not to be unbearable.
He'll give you way too many hugs, but you're not complaining.
He caresses your belly when you're in pain and will stay next to you as long as possible.
Being a fatui harbinger it is complicated to stay by your side often.
✯Kaeya✯
He didn't really understand when you tried to explain to him that you were on your period.
Kaeya: "Listen baby I don't understand what you're trying to get across to me. Be a little more direct please."
Y/n:*Sigh*"Kaeya I have my period"
He was shocked.
He got over it afterwards and you asked for a hug.
Of course he accepted and gave you presents.
He'll give you time alone if you ask for it or the other way around.
He will be really protective of you and your every action (I'm shocked too O_o)
Most of the time when you had cramps he would come and give you a herbal tea and then a hug.
✯Cyno✯
Strange as it may seem he didn't know what period was.
You explained to him and couldn't help but make a joke about it. (Made up a joke I have no idea TwT)
After pointing out that it wasn't funny and that you were in pain, he came over to hug you.
After a long time, he will let go of you but you will always hold him.
He then sat down next to you and told you random stories about him and Tighnari.
He's the kind of boyfriend who worries but doesn't know what to do.
It will take a month or two before he knows what to do.
He will surely ask Tighnari for help.
He will try to make you laugh with his jokes.
✯Tignhari✯
He knew you were on your period and didn't care.
Well, until he sees you rolling around in a ball on your bed.
At that time he felt guilty for not caring about how you felt.
When he saw you he patted your head hoping it would help.
Well in a way it had worked.
He had surely gone to see Collei and ask her what to do.
When you got out of bed, you noticed small chocolates on your bedside table.
Y/n: "Thank you Tighnari"
He heard you and smirked.
He didn't want you to see him worrying about you.
✯Scaramouche✯
This boy is so hard on people, but not on you.(I can see you with your dirty mind!!)
And even less when you have your period.
However, he has pride and a title to keep.
It will therefore not be able to help you when there are people around.
But he will give you little gifts from time to time.
Once he had invited Childe and Signora to a restaurant for a business meeting.
But you were on your period and you didn't want to let go.
Well... Let's say you attended the meeting.
Luckily you were also a Fatui agent so there was no problem with you being there.
✯Kazuha✯
He had already prepared for you to have your period.
When you told him he even seemed happy.
He gave you lots of hugs and gifts.
When Beidou needed him he left you with everything to take care of on your own.
Y/n: "I'm not a child anymore, you know?"
Kazuha: "Maybe but now you are my girlfriend."
Usually he was with you everywhere so it was fine.
✯Xiao✯
He had noticed that you weren't well and asked you in a very pleasant way *cough*.
Xiao: "Why are you so capricious right now?"
what you answered
Y/n: "And you, why do you never smile and always make the face?!"
He was shocked.
You never answered him so harshly.
He felt upset and left.
Later he will learn that you had your period at that time.
He will excuse you by offering you your F/f (Favorite food).
He was very protective when you were on your period and did his best not to get angry when you yelled at him.
✯Albedo✯
That boy is way too smart not to notice you were on your period.
He gave you stuff to eat and you felt better afterwards.
You went to ask him and you learned that he had put some kind of medicine in your food.
You were very happy to have Albedo as your boyfriend, but he spent a lot of time with his experiences and it would bother you.
You ended up telling him while shouting because you were angry.
After that he did his best to stay longer by your side.
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°
✿I wanted to add Klee in th one with Albedo but I don't want to people think that I'm obsessed with her✿
☆ෆSorry the part with Chongyun is bigger than the others partෆ☆
Klee:"Hey!I'm late!! Wait a minute -"
Author:"Huh?! Why you're not with Jean ?"
Klee:"Well...Caus' she's a-"
Author:"ANYWAY HAVE A GREAT DAY /AFTERNOON/ NIGHT!!"

My Playable Characters Shipping List
Tumblr media
So many characters in genshin impact, so taking screenshots of a wiki character list, I edited them together to make a shipping chart! You're welcome to use it how ever you want
Tumblr media
_______________________________________
My Top 10 In Order:
1. Itto x Gorou -
The first Genshin Ship in my collection and still number one. Itto is always the first to fall in my ship and THE definition of golden retriever energy. When Gorou begins to notice his attention on him more often, he gets flustered and slowly falls for him back. Precious wholesome warriors, making a great team and greater lovers.
2. Cyno x Tighnari -
2nd place mostly cause of canon team-up and fanart. Also been debating on which one I'd be good at cosplaying if only I had the money (leaning toward Cyno.) Cyno is the first to fall and even while Tighnari cringes at his jokes, we all know he gives that clear "you're lucky I love you" face. I dream of a relationship like theirs.
3. Kaveh x Alhaitam -
Saw it once or twice on my Twitter feed until it turned into nothing but Kavetham and Cynari, and I eventually began to obsess. Alhaitham surprisingly falls first but can't express it properly, like a neurodivergent with alexithymia. Kaveh slowly shifts his thoughts of Alhaitham from "can't believe I put up with that guy"  to "can't believe I'm in love with that guy". I think the autistic introvert -&- depressed extrovert angle may make for some interestingly dramatic angst. Good angst is fun to write. Plus, I'm on the spectrum and I can confirm that reading emotions (even our own) is either hard or near impossible.
4. Ayaka x Lumine -
The traveler I went with in my game is Lumine and I fell for Ayaka hard when we hung out at a festival before Lumine is made an enemy of the shogunate. Clearly, in the game, Ayaka falls in love first; but I also made an OC named Yuna Ren who fell for Ayaka as a child. I know it's cringe but... It's Ayaka-chan! I can admit I'm a bit of a simp for her.
5. Bennett x Razor -
When I found out they were friends, it was cool, but I saw something more building. Razor falls first, though doesn't understand it. Bennett enjoys having a more permanent team member and grows closer every day. They're super cute little twinks.
6. Ningguang x Beidou -
Two boss girls both dom energy however with good communication it works. Also whenever I feel like I ship too many dudes, I look at hot-I mean-pretty girls with chemistry. (Honestly, I'm surprised with how many mlm ships I have.) Ningquang falls first and... I may have an idea for an erotica oneshot. Stay tuned.
7. Xiao x Aether -
Mainly cause of fanart and if Lumine has Ayaka, the twin bro deserves a lil something special too. Xiao falls first. I mean- c'mon. That guy shows up within a second of calling his name like a genie.
8. Albedo x Sucrose -
Such a sweet and gentle intelligent pair. Sucrose falls for Albedo, and I can see Sucrose being his personal art model. If it was possible, I'd most likely cosplay as albedo (since him and HatGuy are the closest things I find to canon enby's in the game and not much a fan of the wanderer except his skill.)
9. Kazuha x Heizou -
Heizou's voicelines about Kazuha are really intresting. He obviously falls first and makes complex plans to hang out with him. They look very cute together.
10. Zingqui x Chongyun -
Sometimes when 2 characters just stand side-to-side in canon and if you see enough fanart, that's enough to ship two characters. Xingqiu falls first for the exorcist. I also think the combos of blue between the two is pretty nice.

The Waterborne Poetry event has answered a question, and also sprung up a new question.... Actually, two questions, in my most humble opinion...
Anyway, before I move on, do note that there may be 🚨SPOILERS🚨 for those of you who have, for some reason, not done the event during this period... and also for those of you who may have missed it... best if you go watch the gameplay for this event to know what's going on first...
As we all know, the Waterborne Poetry was a follow-up from the Lantern Rite 2023 event where Venti and Hu Tao planned to have a poetry event together. So, here you go, the Waterborne Poetry was born.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Genshin Impact thru' Google Image Search)
But, the story doesn't actually only follow up from there, it also follow up from the Endora event back in... 2021, I think? Players who played the event were granted a little Endora Oceanid as their pet.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Genshin Impact Wiki Fandom thru' Google Image Search)
Just a quick recap, the little Oceanid Endora... actually, I forgot how the Traveler found her... but what I do remember was, like Callirhoe, Endora grew very weak while traveling, and had to latch herself onto some moveable water source... think if memory serves me right, it was a hydro slime.
In order to help little Endora, the Traveler travelled between Mondstadt and Liyue to capture some rogue Oceanid and letting Endora absorb them. By doing so, Endora would be able to regain her strength and her speech should improve a lot.
Part of the event was us finding out that another Oceanid was actually living in the waters of Springvale. At that time, players weren't really sure what to make of the Oceanid existing in Springvale since there was no appearance of this particular Oceanid. Eventually, I think many forgot about it.
Fast forward to the Waterborne event, it was only in this event that it jogged our memory that there was indeed an Oceanid living in Springvale. And that was none other than Callirhoe.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: GoldenBow @ YouTube thru' Google Image Search)
Apart from her main romance with Finch, she did make some friends while living in the waters of Springvale. One of them was our beloved feline, Diona.
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: Rock Paper Shotgun thru' Google Image Search)
Because she was touched by their friendship, Callirhoe gave Diona a special ability, that is, to make any drink into a delicious drink no matter what she puts inside.
So... that kinda answers our question about her mixing ability. It's not because she is Mondstadt's version of Xiangling, but because she was blessed by Callirhoe.
But now, that also gives rise to another question which was also addressed by the character himself.
Is Chongyun's pure yang energy a blessing from someone else as well?
Tumblr media
(Picture Source: PC Invasion thru' Google Image Search)
I believe we will get a story that is Chongyun-focused to answer that question... if Hoyoverse remembers...
That was the first question. The second question is whether or not Xiao is truly having romantic feelings for the Traveler.
Tumblr media
I have covered this in my other post of the list of characters having possible romantic feelings for the Traveler. Not going to details again, there seem to be a hint that Xiao does have some romantic feelings to the Traveler.
It was speculation at first, but a little note on the noticeboard at Wangshu Inn has caused this question to be raised.
Tumblr media
Posting only this screenshot so you can go see the rest yourselves :3
Anyway, I hope Hoyoverse will give us the proper closure to all of the romance blossoming in the air... I mean, first, they confirmed that the Lumine X Childe ship is cannon, then they dropped a Lyney having a crush on the Traveler, and now this...
Regardless of who has romantic feelings for the Traveler, I think many players are wanting to see if the Traveler will reciprocate one of them. Who knows? May be we will have an all out war of the various ships involving the Traveler.

Doing an interest check for a Genshin Impact Modern AU Group RP! 🌸
(20nb, Dirk, GMT, Lit) I've missed doing group RPs so I'm looking to see if there would be any interest within the Genshin community for a group RP within a modern au, with dead dove themes allowed. The plot and current ideas are currently a wip as this is more so to see if anyone would be interested, as I would like to develop the plot with the group involved, or go loose with plot and let people develop their own plot sandbox-style.
Rules/Information
Discord only.
18+ only, for both roleplayers and characters. In regards to characters, aging up characters like Chongyun or Freminet are absolutely fine as long as that's clear!
Depending on how many people interact with this post, we are allowing multiple muses per person including OCs, but please have detailed information and a ref (can be picrew or art, no irl please) for your OC to help with interactions and ensuring they are appropriate for the RP. Please also mention if you'd like to use an OC to help the admin team with reading over your information!
Crossovers are currently ambiguous for if we're allowing them or not, but if there is interest from people wanting to muse Honkai Third Impact or Honkai Star Rail muses, we would love to hear from you! Other similar series will also be considered as long as they don't clash too much with Genshin's established characters.
Please be semi-lit or above in writing style.
For any further information or to reserve a character, please contact me or Zach on zachariahincoherant (tumblr) - you can also leave a like and we will send you a message as soon as possible. We are also looking for people interested in being admins for the group, especially if there is a lot of interest, as both me and Zach have only just moved over to discord - we've got servers down but hoping to have some help with getting additional features like tupperbox! Thank you for reading.

Written for @bluexiao and @anantaru’s writing collab! (Idk if I was supposed to tag them both, so sorry for the unnecessary tags if I did)
Also, Chongyun was the og crush and I never got him lmao. This is probably one of the longer things I’m gonna write, and I finished this in like 3 days. Which is a short time. For me. Anyways, I never wrote for chongyun, and he’s underrated sm
————
Chongyun was but a distant memory for you. After all, it had been several years since you saw him. No... It might've actually been a few decades of time reletive to the time in Tevyat.
Well, for all you know, you likely would never go to Tevyat ever again. To say it was a cruel, harsh reality you had to swallow, was likely an understatement. It was your home. The only home you would ever accept.
A familiar feeling of regret crept up again. You looked out the window to see nothing, but black. It was your own choice to abandon everything you ever knew, to explore the unknown- the world outside Tevyat. To become one with the stars. So, having to abandon your home, your life before, and even your boyfriend, Chongyun was a sacrifice you had to make.
Or so you thought. Before you left Tevyat, you had attempted to make a version of Chongyun with alchemy. However, it was never succesful because he never awoke from his slumber. No one knew about this, not even Chongyun himself. If anyone knew you were making a "copy" of your own boyfriend, they would be disgusted, to say the least. Since you didn't want anyone to see the artificial Chongyun you made, you were forced to take him onto the spaceship with you.
You stood up. Indeed, you should go check on him. It had been at least half a year since you did. Maybe if you were lucky, he might be awake.
You felt nervous at the possibility. Maybe excited. What were you supposed to explain to him if he was awake? He had all of Chongyun's memories, even his earliest ones, and the ones before you left. Espically the bitter ones before you left.
You took a deep breath in, and opened the door to the laboratory. You were met with a buzzing sound, as the mechanics in the room started up. There were shelves filled with different coloured liquids and many different kinds of powdered chemicals as well as tanks of compressed gas. Microscopes were lined up at the side of the wall, all with different sized lenses.
However, none of that was of interest to you. Chongyun still looked asleep in the tank the back of the room. You walked closer to it. The tank was still the same. It looked like he hadn't woke up, yet. His face was still in a sleeping state, and the tank... had no impact on it.
Your heart sank in disappointment. Well, it was expected that he wasn't awake: he would never awake because he was a failed experiment. You were just taken over by your emotions.
But maybe you were a little to desperate, or hopeful. You looked at the sensors. It was worth a try to see if his breathing or heart rate had changed.
You looked on the sensor near the tank. His breathing had remained the same. Your heart sank. But then you looked down. His heart rate had spiked. Right now it was at 120 bpm, which was twice as fast as the sleeping heart rate.
It meant he was awake. Or at least, near awake. You wondered what had allowed for this to happen. Quickly, you opened the door of the tank. You held him by the arms and pulled him out.
"Chongyun, Chongyun! Hey! Wake up!"
You held your breath. No response. You sighed. Maybe the sensor was just faulty. You put your hand on his wrist. His pulse was indeed a waking one, not a sleeping one.
So what was stopping him from being awake?
You thought back to your process of making him. If you remembered correctly, there was no phrase you needed to say to awake him. Unless...
What would you say to Chongyun if you could see him again? That you loved him, and you were sorry. That it was your own fault, and he deserved better.
Maybe if you said this to him, he would awake. You took a deep breath.
"Chongyun... I don't know if you'll hear his but, I... it's all my fault. I should've never left... I" your voice trembles, "It's all my fault. It was all just a foolish dream from the beginning. There was nothing out here and now even if I wanted to, I could never go back. So... um-"
You hugged him, "I love you, and I'm sorry."
Not to your surprise, nothing happened. You were about to stand up, and leave, when Chongyun grabbed your wrist.
"Chong..yun?" You mutter in surprise. "Chongyun!? Is that.. are you awake? Chongyun!"
Very much to your shock, Chongyun had awakened. Maybe it was because of your confession, maybe it wasn't. You would never know, most likely.
"Please don't go.." His voice was horse, and he sounded weak.
His voice sounded exactly like Chogyun's voice. No... those were his last words before you left. You felt a sharp stab of regret. You held his hand.
"Wake up! Wake up!" You yelled, shaking him.
His eyes slowly opened. He still seemed confused as to where he was, how he got here, and why you were here.
"Here. Let me pull you up." You muttered.
"No, it's fine.I can do it myself." An indirect way of saying he didn't need your help. Your throat tightens.
"Anyways, how did I get here?" He asked. Your mouth tightens. "It's a long story." You looked away, "And it's better if you don't know. For now, at least."
He nods, although you knew what he was going to say.
"I'm sorry... it's just.." You cut yourself off.
"I know."
"You understand right? It's not because I don't trust you."
He nods.
You smile. And he smiles back.
You begin to laugh.
"Hey! What's so funny? You were about to cry a second ago!" You wipe your eyes. “I'm sorry... it's just..."
"Just...?"
"I don't even know! I'm just happy and sad at the same time ya know?"
He smirks and rolls his eyes. "Alright, come here. Leme hug you."
You walk into his arms while he hugs you tightly. It was something you hadn't felt in maybe... years. You thought about all those times Chongyun had been there with you. Those times in winter when he would hug you because you were freezing (You had no idea how he never wore a coat), or those times where you would go skating together, and he would let you hide your face in his coat, because you were so embarrassed.
The memories would never come back. But still, it was the closest you could get.
You looked at Chongyun. “Can you kiss me?”
"Of course."

my two cents on the 4.1 event Waterborne Poetry
so, I have finally finished the main story for this event. And I am willing to admit I postponed it quite a bit because everyone trashtalking it made me less than enthusiastic to check it out, even though I had been spoiled on the fact that it revolved around one of my favorite stories in the entire game - the spring fairy - I assumed not so many people could be this horribly mistaken, right?
Well, they are, and I am here to explain why I liked this event so much. Even before the story was over it got me teary eyed with the beauty of Genshin Impact.
First things first, it is my belief that Genshin Impact is a love story. Not in the traditional sense of romantic love - not necessarily, perhaps - but a story of platonic or ideal love more likely, because a forbidden love is what caused the first recorded wave of destruction ("cataclysm") in Teyvat - when the Seelie and the (possibly human, possibly traveler-from-afar) would marry in the moon palace as witnessed by the three moon sisters, the earth was ripped asunder and the lovers tried to flee but disaster caught up, and they were forbidden to ever see eachother again.
If we believe in the idea that Teyvat is cyclic, perhaps this very story is happening again. And again. And again ... for they mustn't be together.
The story of Genshin Impact often speaks in metaphors, and at times the unsaid is just as important as the said - does mi muhe ye actually mean "I love you" ? How is Kaeya the captain of the cavalry if there are no horses in Teyvat that we know? Why are symbols like wolves, the moon, flowers in particular shapes and so many others evoked over and over? What does it all mean? Well, I don't know. This is why I am a lore theorist not a Hoyo spy, lol. I can only guess.
A lot of very important lore points were said in this event. A lot were left unsaid, but can be inferred through parallels and metaphors. A lot were lost in translation, but that's something else. Every language that's not Chinese seems to have struggled with the hidden meanings in poems. Sadly, because I feel like they're big.
But let me talk about the things I did witness - Callirhoe being obviously the biggest one and anyone who's been paying attention knew her identity as an Oceanid right away, because that's what we got in the 3.8 event and Fontaine in general too. Less obvious were her ties to the Spring Fairy story. The people complaining about them made absolutely no sense though, considering the 1.4 event Wishful Drops had the same theme lol. "I don't like events about NPCs" man how about you stop playing Genshin then, why did you even start? Since the 1.4 event the identities of the oceanids and eidolons involved in the Spring Fairy story were unclear - indeed, it seemed to be heavily implied that Rhodeia was the one Old Finch pinned for - but now it's all very clear. The possibility that things have been retconned exist for reasons I will talk about later, but anyways.
Then, the point about shapeshifting being cleared up - indeed, the human form takes away her energy and depleting it makes Callirhoe revert into a eidolon shape ; she did say to Old Finch she doesn't know when she will be able to assume a human form again, meaning, a long time. She wanted to convey her message before that. Old Finch seems to just accept that of course fairies can change forms.
Someone else had a huge character development in all of this - to Chongyun, changing forms makes her an adepti - ie, as per Liyue folklore. And then he starts wondering if his pure yang energy has something to do with it, and for the first time in his life shocking even Xingqiu he begins to wonder if it's such a bad thing to be like this. The scene in which 100% icy blue dragon eyed Chongyun goes wide-eyed at the 100% hydro blue eidolon changing forms like "whoooooa are u illuminated ms" is absolutely comical pot calling the kettle black
The event also reinforced my belief in two characteristics of elements: one, that "ice" may not be an element per se, but rather a form of water ; two, that there is a connection between it and "geo" judging by Noelle and Zhongli's appearances or roles. The explanation for the first one is Enkanomiya and the alchemy table - the sources that don't acknowledge ice isolately. The second one has a bit more convoluted of an explanation so maybe next time, but there is an island in which we find a combination of dendro, hydro and geo slimes that's hard to not pass by. We know the slimes' appearances in a territory means something about it as per Zhongli's story and we also know land needs water to produce flowers, and, well, perhaps just like irminsul (Did Morax Create It?) assumes a flower shape on land (ley lines disorders) and has hydro blue veins and all that. So that's the gist of my theory - maybe some time ...
The last point I want to address, and that perhaps was the most relevant to the deep lore of Genshin as I see it, is that this event showed us the perspective of love of different characters. And so we can compare and contrast to that which we already knew.
Endora's Educational Notes from the Wishful Drops event states -
Love. For Oceanids, this is to meld together as one. There will be no division then. That is why Oceanids need no learning or thoughts of their own. All that is needed is love. It seems that Oceanids cannot love others, for others will only drown in the embrace of pure waters. So they disguise themselves as the dreams of young children, and withdraw from the lives of all other people. [...] Love, that is our destiny. But I still have a whole world left to see.
Their definition of love is... almost LCL-like interesting. To meld together as one - perhaps this is why she says "when the stars in the night sky have all gone out, and all streams and dreams have mingled in the same ocean… then, we will meet again" to Old Finch in Wishful Drops. We keep hearing in Fontaine lore that all the waters will merge together. (that sounds a bit like a flood. Guizhong anyone? Fontaine submerging? whatevers) but in her saying it seems like she is suggesting that she will also meet Old Finch when that happens. Unless Old Finch is somehow from Fontaine, perhaps there is more to it all (hint: it's the abyss - it's absolutely the abyss she spoke of !! source: trust me ~ )
To Paimon she should talk to Old Finch because if they're eachother's "love of their lives" they would certainly still want to see eachother. This shows that Paimon whatever she is views love as something everlasting and unbreakable, unmistakenly so. A romantic perhaps like the moon that witnessed the seelie marriage, or... the "sinner" seelie herself? Or, even, the "villain" that opposed the seelie marriage and needs to make an effort to separate those lovers for eternity Or Else - who knows?
On the other hand, while characters like Mika and Paimon were supporting Callirhoe, two characters were nowhere to be seen: Xingqiu, who is obsessed with poetry and was off to write some (fuck the rules) and Noelle who was off to work. Everyone else in the event (Diona, Chongyun, Mika) had a cryo vision. In other words: Xingqiu was swept away by the feelings of it all, while Noelle was basically unfazed by it And Then There Is Cryo. Interesting! We don't know at this point much about the deep lore and can only guess who is going to be friend or foe in the future so this is merely food for thought ...
Lastly, not to jump too hard in the "Genshin Impact is a queer game" bandwagon because I truly feel this is a lot more convoluted of a topic than people like to pretend it is, for many reasons, but I did write a Tartali manifesto once that touched on the topic of love in the Genshin lore as well as the dynamics between elements and some flower symbolism and I truly love how the event not only legitimated the flower symbolism and parallels between flowers of different nations but expanded on them and brought new interpretations to the table. The parallel between the sweet flowers and the "sweetness" of Barbara (a hydro user? indeed, indeed) is made as explicit as the similarities between the Qingxin and the Cecilia which are both white flowers that grow in... peculiar places - namely, wherever the elemental energy of the land is stronger ie strong winds and tall mountains, respectively.
With all that this event has expanded on symbolism of key items, characters and elements, it does surprise me that so many people can't see past the concrete "it's an event about NPCs" into the "these NPCs are a metaphor to the greater lore of THE FUCKING GAME" . At a certain point I was wandering above the water with Wanderer and suddenly had thoughts of Raiden Ei creating him to be free (and her obsession... with anemo kind of shows in her statue of the omnipresent god really. Why are Barbatos and the omnipresent god - who still looks an awful lot like Paimon to me - the only winged statues and what did she want exactly .. ) and how we actually use him to do stuff like float above water - in the event Paimon is like "don't ask me to do it! yes I fly but I can't do that" and in Fontaine this happens too. I've been using Scara a lot for exploring so I keep thinking about it - he is the only character that "flies" or at least does something close to it and he is Raiden Ei's will, her puppet creation. What were her aspirations then? The event also got me thinking about the Goddess of Flowers who was known for talking about sussy things under the moon and water flowed from her body ... As it kept evoking night and moon and stars imagery when talking about Old Finch and Callirhoe - almost stating their similarities to the seelie marriage that wasn't. Another forbidden love story that couldn't be for reasons unknown.
But well, guess some people can't see past the grind and it shows. And oh boy, isn't that a metaphor for our real world at large lol.

🐉Anon hereThe idea of big sis' Shenhe that li-Love-li brought up does get the gears of my thought-organ wirring with thoughts, questions and ideas.
Stuff like:I
f we were to be her bio-sibling, would we come from the same mother (and would that mean that Shenhe's pappy would attempt to sacrifice the sibling along with her? Which could be doubly fucked up, because Shenhe's sibling would probably only be a toddler at the oldest at that time, +that now could mean potentially 2 emotionally stunted and/or confused humans raised by the adepti), or would they be the child of another woman that Dadhe got with some time after he failed to bring his og wife back? Who Shenhe discovers the existence of later down the line (perhaps with the help of the Traveller and/or Chongyun)
I mean either way, it's +1 Auntie/Uncle for our boi Chongus!
Now that I think about it, wouldn't Chongyun referring to Shenhe as "Auntie" imply the existence of a blood-sibling? Or is it more of an honorary thing of a sort?
Another thought: since it is pretty reasonable to assume that Shenhe would be among the more protective sorts of older siblings, so Xingqiu better watch his ass, because something tells me Shenhe's gonna watching like a hawk around her sibling. [Name]'s gonna have to have a talk with big sis' before she ends up doing something that'll get the Qixing on them XD. Basically imagine her "About Xingqiu" voiceline, but with her sibling rather than the Traveller lol.
Shenhe: So… he was just joking with you?
[Name]: Yes.
Shenhe: …you are sure?
[Name]: Yep.
Shenhe: Absolutely certain?[Name]: Mhm.
Shenhe: How do you know he wasn't just hiding a threat behind honeyed words meant to make you lower your guard-
[Name]: SHENHE, YOU'RE OVERTHINKING IT!Shenhe: Am I-?
[Name]: Y E S !
Shenhe: …
[Name]: …
Shenhe: …okay.
^I could see a convo going somewhere along the lines of this.
Oh gods. Dude, assuming that Shenhe and her sibling were born from the same mother, and that their father also tries to sacrifice the siblingalong with her, imagine how much worse Shenhe's rage could be? Like, it's already bad enough in cannon that the adepti had to essentially emotionally numb her, now you add in the equation of a sibling who was put in that same, horrific situation…
I could see Shenhe's younger sibling also acting as a sort of emotional support, helping quell her homicidal thoughts when they are at their worst. Maybe they do carry a grudge towards their father for trying to offer them up to the remnants of an evil God, but maybe it's not as bad as Shenhe's, so they didn't need to be numbed like she did.
Honestly, there's a few potential routes that could be taken with older sibling Shenhe. Lots of possibilities of how the two's dynamic could be handled!
Ooooh, while we're on the topic, what do you think could be some potential vision options for the younger sibling? 🤔I could see maybe Pyro, as an opposite to Shenhe, perhaps showing how they might be a bit more in-touch with their emotoins than she may be, or perhaps Electro, as a representation of how outcasted they may feel due to how the people of Liyue near-comstantly mistake them for Adpeti (because that's an unusually common trait of many Electro vision holders have, being outcasts of a sort in someway, somehow).
hi dear!!!!!! hello!!!! @li-love-li look you are inspiring my anons hehe <33
THAT'S SOMETHING I WAS THINKING ABOUT and i think that is soo fucked up. but you know, if they were also sacrificed with her, i think shenhe would just be so impossibly protective of them as they are raised among the adepti. that's her baby sibling, man. she would sooner die than let them get hurt. and that second option!! i think that has its own appeals. i feel like shenhe would want to meet them. i'm not sure why? but i feel like she'd want to know them. and maybe they also had a rough relationship with dadhe, since he... you know. sacrificed his first child. he already doesn't seem like a particularly great dad based on that fact alone (but i haven't read shenhe's lore in a while, so perhaps he was decent before his wife died? or maybe he was always a poor dad idk. ultimately it's insane that he decided to LITERALLY SACRIFICE HIS CHILD PLEASEEE).
but that's so true! another auntie/uncle for chongyun, as he deserves <3
and, as for chongyun's referral to shenhe, i think it's a cultural thing actually. i could be wrong because i am not chinese and have never been anywhere near china as a whole, but i think it's culturally appropriate for younger boys to call older women auntie. in chongyun & shenhe's case specifically, i think it is also a matter of their closeness. i also don't think they are bio-related, rather, i think shenhe just took up the auntie role in his life. i could be wrong about that too LMAO but yeah!!
AND HELPPPP THAT'S SO REAL she's so protective.... it comes from a good place though!!!
and MAN she would be so furious, i think, as if she isn't angry enough already. i think thw adepti would be even more adamant on her wearing the red ropes because of her sibling. i think she would just feel an uncontrollable flood of emotions every time she looked at their scarred face. and it's not because she's mad at them, not at all! she just cannot fathom how their vile father took a look at their once-innocent face and decided to sacrifice them with her.
that's very true, though! i think they would be good at helping to keep her calm. and i feel like shenhe would harbor the majority of the rage. like. her younger sibling also cannot stand the thought of their dad, but is much calmer about it than shenhe is.
PYRO VISION [NAME] OHHHHH i love that.... shenhe, cryo user shenhe, who is cold and perhaps a bit standoffish to some even if that isn't how she wants to be seen. shenhe who cannot allow herself to feel her destructive emotions. shenhe who feels as if there is a layer of glass between her and the rest of the world... meanwhile [name], pyro user [name], who is warm and open and feels their emotions very deeply to the point where their core is shaken easily. [name] who is deeply connected with the world around them.
shenhe, whose pain pushed her away from the world, and [name], whose pain brought them closer to it.
i can see shenhe's baby sibling also being outcasted and misunderstood, but somehow, it feels so appealing to have them be even closer to the world because of their pain...... sobs
all of the potential routes are so interesting to explore <3

Part 8
Note: Some unexpected things c:
"I just want to skip this gym class. I mean it." I complained, unbuttoning my blouse. Besides, I have something important to do after school. Something I'm worried about.
"You can say that again. That Tartaglia isn't even human anymore!" Xinyan agreed with me and threw her white blouse on the bench. At the moment, we were all in the locker room. It was very noisy, not to mention stuffy. It was our class's turn for gym class while the parallel class was getting ready for their next class. Therefore, we were pretty much cramped. I only noticed now that we are more girls at this school than boys. "I must say, though, he doesn't look bad..." Yun Jin put on her sports jacket and giggled. "Oh, did anyone bring deodorant for later? Forgot mine at home." We waited for her sentence to turn out to be a joke. But that didn't seem to be the case. She looked at us cluelessly. "So no one brought deodorant?"
"I can tell you that he is so not my type...'' Confessed Xinyan. "But alright, yeah. He's not that bad looking." She probably said that so Yun Jin wouldn't feel alone.
"I need deodorant!"
Personalities can really spoil appearances. Tartaglia is the real deal, no lie!
Rarely does he show grace. But as soon as another teacher appears, he is the treasure of the whole earth. Just watch.
I put on a shirt and our sports jacket. Somehow I felt I was being watched when I pulled up my sports pants. But of course I hurried because letting underwear be seen is embarrassing. I briefly peeked over my shoulder. But no one suspicious was to be seen. Strange...
In the sports field it started immediately. First we were told to stretch as much as possible. But that was difficult for most of the students. Next came the sit ups as well as push ups. Actually, we were all used to it. But Mr.Tartaglia loves to do multiple reps.
"You are not tensing your abdominals! Otherwise it won't work!" He laughed and went around once. "As a reward, you may..."
?
"Run a few tracks! Isn't that great?" Many groaned in annoyance. "But only after you do the crunches. Not to mention the five-minute planks." Well this class seemed like it was going to be especially great. But at least not as intense as normal. Apparently, he was in a good mood.
After the gym class, most everyone was sweaty. I loosened my arms because I had to repeat the planks. My arms were hurting. Do we at least not get real mats?
Suddenly Hu Tao put her hands on my ears and whispered to me:
"Meow, meow..heheh." She then ran away giggling. I looked stupidly after her. Afterwards, I realized why I felt like I was being watched while I was changing.
She had seen my panties which had a kitten on them. However, I didn't let that bother me.
We were lucky that there were many cool breezes blowing from the wind during the day. At least I didn't feel warm or sweaty anymore. I continued to fan myself with the notebook. It was like an air conditioner. With my other hand, I opened my school bag and looked at the last bag of cookies.
"You look determined. Do you have any plans after school?" Xinyan looked at me curiously and was retying her braids. I gestured to the bags. "Oh... the last person is...?"
"Chongyun." I whispered. "It's kind of hard to talk to him lately. Now that we're all getting close again..." Hu Tao patted me on the shoulder. "You guys are good friends after all! You can't just leave him like this forever. He must be getting lonely."
"I don't know..." I whispered, grabbing my bag. "I was planning to visit him with Xingqiu. He was worried about me too. But something came up. So I'm going there alone."
"I'd love to go but..." She scratched the back of her head. I get it already. Chonygun... Is not really pleased with Hu Tao. They both have completely different views on life. "There's nothing wrong with that. So see you tomorrow!"
I made my way to his house. After a few streets, I passed a cemetery and came across a shrine. And if I go in the corner across the street..there's his house!
I exhaled deeply once and rang the bell. It didn't take long for a white-haired woman to open the door for me.
"Hi. Chongyun has company." She said, as if this was a new fact. "Good afternoon, Shenhe. It's good to see you again." His parents were not there today. Instead, his auntie Shenhe, who looked after him many times. I can well imagine that he has often tried to make his parents understand that he can manage on his own and doesn't need a babysitter at his age anymore. But of course, his parents disagree.
She was pleased to let me in. Before that, however, she checked to see if anyone had come along. "Ah..auntie. I came alone. Xingqiu couldn't come after all." Somehow she looked relieved and closed the door behind me. "I see. I'll get you something to drink..if you like? Or would something to eat be better after all?" Somehow I thought she was cute.
"It's all good! I'm okay with everything." She led me to his room. It was downstairs, you see. Right where their basement is. The reason for this is that it's always nice and cold downstairs. As we walked down the lowest hallway, the walls were more and more decorated with talismans. I noticed new decorations and a few multiple dream catchers on the walls. "Today his class ended early. He was still able to escape the midday sun. He forgot his parasol today."
"Poor him..."
She gave me a gentle nudge on the back as a sign that I could quietly go in his room. I must have been distracted by all the decorations as usual. Shenhe eventually went back to prepare drinks. I rubbed my arms to give them some warmth. It was really chilly downstairs. He had probably turned his air conditioner back on.
His room door was wide open. I didn't enter his room yet. Chongyun was sitting cross-legged very still. His eyes were closed and his breaths were so slow that I almost thought he wasn't breathing at all!
I leaned against his door frame and said nothing because I didn't want to disturb him. But he seemed to have noticed me long ago.
He opened his eyes and looked at me with a calm smile.
"You came, didn't you?"
"I did."
"Come on in, please. You don't have to stand there." I listened to his request and entered his room. There were so many sigils, feathers and scarves hanging. You could almost never see his dark blue walls.
On a table were his beloved stones, cards as well as prayer chains. I don't know how long I haven't been here. But I found his room especially beautiful. Especially the sun catchers, reflecting rainbows in the form of water drops from the small slit of the window. Whenever I'm here, I feel a certain calm.
"I just finished meditating. You're just in time..." I nodded in response and placed my school bag on my lap as he offered me a seat.
"I was thinking of coming to see you. With Xingqiu, of course. But unfortunately, something came up with him."
"Oh, that's too bad. But nothing serious, I hope?" He looked a little worried. I shook my head. "No, just don't worry. You know his brother is still nauseous..."
Xingqiu still has his brother's punishments on his hands, but at least it's not as severe as it was a few days ago! He may be annoyed by it, but he didn't complain.
"I see..punishments, huh? He could always talk his way out of that." He seemed surprised that Xingqiu didn't use that tactic anymore. Therefore, we have been under a lot of stress lately, it seems to be the case because of that. With my feet, I supported the casters of the swivel chair I was sitting on and slowly turned back and forth sideways. Then I braked.
"How..are you doing?" I just wanted to know if something was bothering him. Not having him around us felt like nothing. Like there was a void. He leaned his upper body back slightly and looked up at the ceiling. For a moment he watched the little rainbows mapped through his crystals. "I'm feeling better already, thank you. But I must confess that my yang energy..got worse." He paused a bit, then looked at me.
"I didn't mean to hurt you."
"Chongyun..!" What is he saying all of a sudden?
He sat up straight again. "No, I'm serious. I stayed away from everyone..because I didn't want to involve anyone." He got up from his bed and pushed off the incense stick. It stopped smoking and the ash fell apart. "So I spent the entire time meditating and training." I played a little with my pendant, which was hanging on my school bag. "How is it now?" Chongyun always suffered from his yang energy. It made his whole life difficult, after all, he couldn't participate in many leisure activities. However, we as his friends did not let this affect him. He can't help it and remains our kind-hearted friend.
His reaction, which he now showed me, surprised me. His eyes lit up. "You know, much better! But the heat..it makes it difficult for me. As long as I meditate and focus on not going crazy, it's going to be a success. I'm already learning to deal with it better. But it really took time..much more than it normally does."
I already felt relieved. "So you can go back outside soon...?"
He sat back down on the edge of his bed. "Huh? Outside?" I rummaged around in my bag now and pulled out a small pouch. "We all wanted to get together again. All the exams and class changes kind of separated us from each other ..separated was the word...?" I stood up and handed him the bag of cookies. "Well, it would be nice if we spent time together again." He stared at my hands and then back at me.
"Burn marks?"
I scratched my head. "Ahah, don't worry about it! That happened to me yesterday after. It'll go away though!" I baked cookies again because there was no way I was giving him old cookies that went bad over the summer. "Finally, I can give you that too."
"All this trouble for me...?" He asked, partly unsure. I could only shake my head at that. "It was no big deal. Besides, baking is fun."
"Listen, there's something else I wanted to tell you..." Chongyun's cheeks turned slightly pink. But his expression seemed unsettled. "I wanted to apologize that...remember when you found out about Xingqiu's moving?"
I pressed my lips together for a moment. That's a phrase I hated to hear lately. "What about it?"
"From me..."
"Huh?"
"It came from me. I just blurted it out. Though I was sure he'd rather tell you."
I didn't blame him, though. Somehow, I just couldn't. "You're sad about that too, aren't you? After all, you guys are inseparable.... And sooner or later it would have come out anyway."
"But it wasn't right of me!" He replied. "I knew that I had to stay away from you sooner then, after all." I have to sigh once and smiled at him.
"Let's rather all look for solutions and spend the future time together with joy." Fighting is the last thing I want.
Shenhe entered the room, but we didn't notice it at first. Immediately, we startled as long white hair flew past and by. We almost thought that a ghost had entered his room.
And that would have ended unpleasantly, because I could see from Chongyun's face how he relaxed again.
He certainly wasn't going to beat her up if she had been a ghost.
I looked at him and widened my eyes as he put back a seal.
Eh.
Or was he?!
When I got back home, I felt a slight joy. It was as if another weight had fallen off my shoulder. But then I remembered that I had to get to homework and was annoyed again. I showerd, threw on some loose clothes, grabbed a popsicle, and got to work. At least I had a cool down for a while. With a tired look on my face, I flipped my textbook closed. I was about to get up and ask my father if I could use his computer for further and faster research. But in the middle of it, I got a call.
"Hello, (Name). Do you feel like..coming over tomorrow afternoon? I'd love to spend some time with you. I'd have a day off tomorrow. How about it?" My eyes sparkled.
The next day, I stood in front of the mansion. I took off my sun hat and entered the grounds. Somehow, the place was quieter than usual. Did I really come at the right time? Did I take too long to get ready after all? I looked at my note. No, the time seemed right after all. I rang the bell once and waited until the door was opened for me.
A tall young man looked down at me.
Xingqiu's big brother!
Immediately he smiled. "Greetings to you. It's good to see you back. Please, come in." I shyly greeted him back and took off my sandals. "Where is this..." He heaved a single sigh. "He really has no sense of his own guests!..Ah, would you like a drink? Come on, I'll take you to the living room."
"Thank you..." I looked around. Did they change the decorations around? And the carpets? His home certainly looked different than usual. And the mood was different than normal, too. It was much more hectic. Many maids were carrying certain boxes and hurrying to go outside. Some were running with long lists.
"Don't let it bother you. It's just an event taking place. Unfortunately, some things didn't go as planned. But it is getting smoother already. Xu will probably have to step in as the only house helper today..I hope Xingqiu doesn't take advantage of that." He looked kind of stressed out.
Take advantage? What would Xingqiu want to do to Xu? I think I missed so many things.
"Please, make yourself at home- ah, your drink. Hope you like lemonade?"
I suddenly had to giggle a little. "It's all right. I'll wait. I'm sure you have a lot to do."
"Ahhh, master! There's an order..."
"Excuse me! (Name), sorry!" Immediately he rushed to a maid. I sat down on the sofa and had to take a deep breath.
And exhale once...
Somehow their stress was rubbing off on me. I looked at the beautifully decorated lemonade with many ice cubes. The little parasol I found particularly cute. But to make me a fresh drink in a hurry and brought here remains a mystery to me. But that was nothing new. It is with them the usual. I drank some of the lemonade from the straw and put the glass back on the tray. Xingqiu really has it good. He could be served something like this all day.
"But young master... are you sure you'll be able to get along with Xu? Can you really stay alone? What about if there's an emergency..."
"I told you, go ahead without me. I'm sure father is already waiting. The more backup, the easier it will be there." My ears perked up when I heard this familiar one. Automatically, I had to smile. He stood confidently in the hallway, saying goodbye to the maids. Then he turned his gaze to me.
I got up from the sofa and he came towards me, pleased. Immediately he took my hands in his. "You came! I'm sorry I kept you waiting." I shook my head. "Don't be."
I noticed the stack of DVDs on a drawer. He followed my gaze. "I thought we could watch some movies together." I don't say no to that. It got quieter in the house while I picked out a few movies. They're probably all gone by now.
"I can't believe you rented a lot of these movies."
"You had to make us watch these." He didn't sound excited at all. I don't think he likes watching a certain confident blonde in different roles. "I mean seriously..." He sighed and pulled out a couple of movies. "...as in Nutcracker, ah and Swan Lake." I shook my head and put my hands on my hips. "Now don't be like that. Razor seemed to have been really excited about it! And Bennett was very invested!" But the fact that Xingqiu didn't like these movies, but still watched them with me, was saying something. Somehow I thought that was totally cute..
"But I kind of feel like doing something else for now." We decided to watch TV. I found his TV especially great. It ran smoothly and was also very large. We sat on the sofa while a cartoon was playing. Honestly, I was totally excited to be able to spend time alone with him. But why, I couldn't explain to myself. It wasn't like we had never spent time alone before. I leaned my head on his shoulder. After a moment, he put his hand on mine.
However, this time it was totally different than usual..
" Drat! I forgot my folder!" It was his big brother's voice. Never in my life had I sat up straight on a sofa so quickly. We both had a light bead of sweat on our foreheads, trying not to look suspicious.
"There it is..oh, you guys just watch movies?" His brother took the mysterious folder from the drawer and looked at us. I don't know if I'm imagining it..but it looked like he was measuring with his own eyes, the distance between the two of us.
"We're just looking at a mouse and a cat taking a swipe at each other. Nothing unusual, right (name)?"
I agreed with him. "Certainly. There are infinite episodes." For a while his brother said nothing, but then he seemed to look pleased. "Have fun then!" I waved after him and we were silent until we heard no more footsteps. With an uncertain smile, I turned to Xingqiu.
"Do you think he suspects us..."
"Yes, I think so." Xingqiu didn't take a second longer in answering. "That must be why he asked Xu to come here later. After all, I can stay home alone for a few hours..." It already made me nervous that someone might have a clue about our relationship. And by that, I meant people from our family. Xingqiu brushed up a strand that was behind my ear. "Don't be afraid." I put my hand on his and leaned further back on the sofa. If only it were that easy. You see, my parents are very strict when it comes to relationships. They still don't know that I have a boyfriend. Xingqiu stroked the back of my hand with his thumb and turned his head towards me.
And to be honest, I felt guilty about what I was doing behind their backs. This is not only because of the cultural as well as religious aspects. What pulled me out of my thoughts, however, was Xingqiu getting up from the sofa, pulling my hands towards him. He seems to have turned off the television.
"Do you feel like letting off steam? We have a lot of space here." Let off steam? I wonder what he could possibly mean by that.
"Young master...? Are you here?" Xingqiu laughed softly and pointed out to me not to make a sound. I think I now have a slight idea of what he is up to. This is something that could be mean. But it was typical of him. I am fortunately used to his bizarre sense of humor. He looked to me and grinned. "Perfect timing. Come on!" He pulled me after him.
Now the two of us were running in socks, hand in hand down the halls and past Xu.
"Huh. You here? What was that?" Immediately, I held my hand in front of my mouth to keep from laughing out loud. The sun was shining through the hallway windows, and I hoped our shadows wouldn't give us away.
"Young master!! Please don't play games with me. Your father would be worried if I told him you were not present..." We turned quickly because the corridors here were endlessly long. Otherwise, he would have seen us. But now Xu would have to choose which way to go.
Left? Right? Or maybe straight ahead? If he only knew that he had just passed us...!
He should have turned left. Then he would have found us. As Xingqiu kept guard and made sure Xu was out of sight, we continued to sneak down the hallway straight ahead.
Big mistake.
For a second, my heart almost raced to my feet. We were right behind him! Just as Xu was about to turn around, we raced into the next room. It was a bathroom. Probably for guests because usually each room has its own bathroom. I think so.
"Aha, don't think I didn't see you guys!" Xu kept approaching and yanked open the bathroom door.
However, he didn't see us. All he saw was a bright bathroom, the big bathtub which was in front of a window, a toilet on the left and a sink next to it. Even behind the door we were not visible. "T..This can't be happening! I could have sworn. Maybe I should take a vacation after all..." He muttered to himself.
The footsteps were getting quieter and quieter.
Luckily, he didn't look into the bathtub. Well, Xingqiu and I were cramped in there. He had his arms tightly around me and his chin on my shoulder. I felt relieved now. Although it wouldn't have been bad if Xu had found us. But playing hide and seek is exciting now.
I don't want to be like this, but lying in a bathtub like this wasn't entirely uncomfortable. On the contrary... with him it was kind of pleasant. Maybe it was because I felt secure at that moment and looked up at the ceiling. The white and translucent shower curtain continued to waft before it like a ghost. We watched the curtain for a few minutes before sitting back up.
"I think he's gone. Let's go back to the living room." I agreed with him and we got out of the bathtub as a result. Good thing no one here had showered before. Otherwise we would have been soaking wet.
It took a while before we made our way to the living room. We were fooling around quite a bit in the hallway. Playfully I refused to move and he tried to pull me along. But when I saw a small picture frame that caught my eye, I stopped. I got up from the floor and took a closer look at the photo.
"No, how cute."
A very small boy in winter clothes was looking intently at the camera. Next to him was a young woman with slightly wavy hair in a coat. She was kneeling down behind the little boy and was holding his shoulder while smiling to the camera.
"Xingqiu, is that you and your mom?" He seemed surprised by the photo himself and looked at it. This picture frame must have been hung up since recently without his knowledge. "Yeah, I think I just turned 4 then?" Smiling, I brushed my finger over the picture, then analyzed the place. It looked very familiar to me. But I don't know from where.
"Do you know where this photo was taken?" I looked at him questioningly. Xingqiu scratched his head thoughtfully. "I could ask my father. He took the photo back when he was trying out a camera. But I'm pretty sure the Central Library was in front of us."
I looked at the photo for a moment before we dashed back into the living room. Since the sun was shining a strong orange light as it was about to set, Xingqiu dimmed the living room by drawing the curtains. They were really very long curtains because the windows went from the end to the beginning.
As he was about to draw the curtain further, I tapped his shoulder. Confused, he tried to turn to me until I blew in his ear and ran away. He made a sound of shock and ran after me.
He managed to catch me immediately. "Do you want me to punish you?" He laughed, trying to hold me down. "And that would be how? Tickle me to death?" I teased with confidence. He softened a bit and shook his head.
"No, but... maybe more intense than at school a few days ago?" He whispered, stroking both hands down my side to my thighs. I didn't expect that at all and fell squealing to the carpet. I pulled him right down with me. Now I lay giggling caught between his arms as he knelt over me. I couldn't see him clearly at first because there were still a few rays of sunlight shining from the slits in the curtains.
Slowly I calmed down and looked up at him. Somehow this moment seemed very familiar to me.
Then it hit me. Right. That was when he and I were in the stairwell when I almost put my hand in-
"(Name)?" Huh?
I blinked a few times and looked back at him. Oh dear, was I absent-minded again? And what the thell was I thinking about? "Yeah?"
He smiled and put a hand on my cheek. "I'm always thinking about you..you know that, right?" Then he leaned closer.
"Hmh..yes.." I continued to hold eye contact with him. Ahh..for him to just say it like that..
"I'm relieved to hear that."
He then lifted my chin and placed a kiss on my lips. Automatically, I closed my eyes at that. How long had it been...? I missed his lips. But unfortunately, it was very short.
"Xingqiu..one more time?" I asked softly. From the second kiss, it turned into a third..then fourth..then..oh, forget it. I stopped counting a long time ago.
We then innocently drank lemonade and watched the movies. When Xu came back, he saw us in this sight. The look on his face told me that he needed a vacation badly. Xingqiu seemed to have been very amused.
"Huuh..but we sat here all the time, right (Name)?"
"Yeah..of course." Man, do I feel guilty.
Eventually, I went home before it got late. I would have loved to stay with him longer. But there will be another time soon. As I walked quietly through the streets, I reflected a bit.
Actually, today we could have discussed what will become of us when he moves away. It won't be long now. But we still have time. I remembered how he said then that he will look for a solution. All right, then I'll try to do that too. Even if I realize that it will be difficult if we will live far away from each other. No, no. After all, it's not just about me. There are the others. Besides, he himself has to process what he's still leaving behind.
I realized now that maybe it was good that we didn't talk about it today. And surely it is good not to plan much and leave it to fate...
Now I'm getting a headache again.
I notice that in this situation I get the total block of thoughts. I sighed and entered my home. I went to greet my mother and found her in the living room as a result. She was looking at some photos.
What I found strange, however, was that she didn't question where I was.
"Are you getting nostalgic, Mom?" She continued to turn the pages.
"I was actually trying to pick out a photo for my card..and now I'm distracted." Who hasn't been there? Anyway, it happened to me when I was cleaning out some toys from my kindergarten days.
"Look, this is you and me. You were I think..3 years old? Maybe there's something written on the back." I sat down with her and took one look at the photo. It was only very slightly creased, yet well kept.
Hold on a second.
"What is it? Can't you make out what's pictured?"
My heart started to race slightly. If you look closely, you can see in the background the back of a woman who had placed her hands on the shoulders of her child while kneeling down. A man was half in view who seemed to be taking the picture. I flipped the picture over.
On the back, there actually seemed to be something written.
"(Name) with her mother in front of the Central Library. Autumn, 1991." I whispered.
Speechless, I lowered the photo in front of my face. The family behind me and my mother in this picture..This couldn't be true?

You have been matched up with...Kazuha!
Tumblr media
"A wandering samurai from Inazuma with a modest and gentle personality. Beneath a youthful and carefree demeanor lies a heart that hides a great many burdens from the past. Seemingly easygoing, Kazuha has his own code of conduct."
How you two met:
A calm, quiet meadow within the lands of Liyue. Only two people are here- you, and an aimless wanderer. Approaching you, he saw works of poetry and literature surrounding you, and began to strike up a lighthearted conversation.
He had been in this meadow a couple of times before, and he had never before seen someone else here
Needless to say, he was interested about who else spends their time here
When he saw what you were doing there, his interest was heightened even more
He kneeled next to you, and asked about what you were writing
Kazuha read through what you gave him, and seemed to enjoy it
He didn't stay too long, but he did make a mental bookmark to come back here soon, and to possibly see what you were writing this time
It had not been too long since your first meeting, when he came to the meadow once again. He spent his time in a similar fashion to his last visit, only stopping by for a short time. But, he kept coming back, and his visits got longer and longer.
At this point, he had lost count of the amount of times he had come to this meadow
It was almost like a routine for him, a structure in his life he previously never had
He grew comfortable with this newfound structure, and felt as if he was no longer just a wanderer
When he arrived this time, he had a concrete goal
The clock ticked as seconds passed through, as minutes came and went, and as the hours drifted by, he felt a little nervous
Finally, as the sun began to set over Liyue's bustling port, he turned to you
He knew exactly what he wanted to say, and only hoped that you would return his words with affirmation
"These hours with you have felt so inexplicably like fairy-tales, as if this meadow of lavender was just a landscape in the illustrations of a romantic tale. I like this feeling, though. Love, that is what this feeling is. Do you happen to feel the same way?"
Why you two are compatible:
A wandering samurai from Inazuma who is currently with Liyue's Crux Fleet. A gentle and carefree soul whose heart hides a great many burdens from the past.
I think Kazuha wouldn't be very off-put by your initial disposition (that is, if he would be put-off by it at all)
I think his calmer personality would also fit with your more bubbly one after the two of you get comfortable with each other
He probably would also be pretty appreciative of you being there to listen whenever he needs it
In a way, he might relate to you through how he might feel like he's running away from his problems
Generally, I think that Kazuha and you fit well with each other because of how you have similar aspects that pair well together, and contrasting aspects that also pair well together
Your interests are also things that I could reasonably envision him also liking/being interested in
Overall, I think there's a healthy set of similarities and differences here, which help to foster a pretty good relationship between you two
Relationship Headcanons:
You and him often share snacks, at least the matcha green tea ones
Whenever he gets you a gift, he pairs it with a bouquet that always includes lavender
You two exchange written works, often for special holidays/events
I think he'd actually quite like your fashion style, and would want to try your things on every now and then
Personally, I think he'd be very appreciative of your blunt way with words, since he speaks in a way that seems a little more whimsical, so it's a nice refresher for him
He probably takes you around with him while he travels, and makes it a habit to visit that meadow a lot
Honestly, he's probably quite private with the relationship
I don't see him as someone who would really do too many things with your relationship in public, aside from just being near each other in general
I think at one point, he would teach you how his leaf whistle works for fun (leaf whistle concerts?)
New Years Headcanons:
In my mind, Kazuha never really celebrated many events
But now, he feels a compellation to
So, he came up with a somewhat last-minute plan
He stopped by a couple of stores in Liyue, and picked up some special snacks, and smaller little trinkets
He asked Beidou if she could pick up some fireworks, Inazuman snacks, and a couple of random objects
Not too long after he asked, he began to plan out a little more for his special New Years celebration
He decided that he would have all of this at the meadow that you two met at, and he began arranging all of the items into a neat display
Sometime while he was organizing, Beidou had some of her crew members haul over Kazuha's requested goods
Now, all of the things he needed were there, and all he had to do was invite you over, and pass the hours till twelve
When you arrived, he began to give you various gifts as the time passed by, and he focused on making you feel special for the rest of the day
Finally, it was twelve, and at that exact moment, fireworks began to fly up into the sky
Distanced at just the right point that you could see their beautiful colors and shapes, but just far enough away that you wouldn't hear the crackle of them too clearly
"These fireworks, aren't they pretty? I had these brought over for you. They started just before the last year ended, and ended just as this year started. My love for you, though, will last much longer than these lights in the sky."
Afterword:
I hope you like how this turned out! I was dealing with a lot of things today, so I hope that didn't affect the quality at all.
