Im sorry guys but i slept well for once and naturally woke up early feeling good, so i come on here to enjoy the fun little things everyone posts and what do i find?
Literally six separate people complaining about batfam in fandom. I dont disagree, but day in day out half my dash is this. Its getting to the point where these kinds of posts are causing a more negative experience than the thing being complained about. Maybe consider how much youre complaining about the same one thing over and over again. And that youre the one perpetuating the topic of batfam superiority. Not a day goes by where i have the peace to not think about this bc someone is always bringing it back up.
Really unfortunate to feel the need to call this out bc every person i saw reblogging is a delight and i like all of you so, so much but like okay we get it. We get it and we agree already. Can we maybe at least reduce the amount this gets brought up? Just a little?

I hate it when people use "dear boy" in fanfics
Like I genuinely can't fucking get over it. "My dear"? Cute as fuck, affectionate, everything to me. "Dear"? Mildly less affectionate but still love it. "Good boy"? Crowley has a thing for praise, leave me alone, actually perfect. But "dear boy"? It's giving "old sport". Same for "my boy" most of the time. I know it's canonically used by Aziraphale in the book but to me it just isn't intimate in the way people want it to be. Especially in smut. I genuinely have to change it in my head to keep from closing the tab out of spite.

Shaoshang recollects LBY's words and actions then decides to catch feelings?
Also, the imbalance of power is not in their social status or power or influence.
It's that they're both at different stages of their lives. Comparably, Niaoniao has less world experience than a military man whose led battles most of his life, is a nominal part of royalty, and is feared by most of the noble classes. Even if he were on their social level - i.e. not an adopted son of an Emperor or his Dad was an ordinary farmer, someone like Ling Bu Yi would still have more power in the relationship than a very young girl.

Why do people just talk about McLennon and Starrison?
These boys slept around more than most people ever have or will, and you think that was only in terms of girls? That with boys they just loved one other person?
I just don't understand the logic. How would their feelings for boys be any less complicated than for girls?
There probably weren't AS many boys, just because it was literally illegal, but you want to tell me that it was simple? That John and Paul ONLY loved each other? That George and Ringo ONLY had feelings for each other (because I do not subscribe to the "Ringo's straight because he just has that vibe' notion)
Come on.
There were lots of girls and lots of boys and it was all complicated.
McLennon and Lennison can coexist, it's not one or the other.
Same for McLennon and McStarr etc
Coexisting doesn't mean necessarily the same relationship, but the feelings were so much more complicated than just one pairing being in love but never doing anything about it.

More things I hate about modern literature because today is a bad day and I need to be a dick online to feel better:
How much sex there is in everything
And again I am not a prude, erotica has existed for decades and it's okay but every popular YA or adventure book nowadays is a bad erotica with some low stakes adventure in the background
And somehow they are able to be both bad porn and bad adventure
And also people will promote those books as " yes the plot kinda sucks but there's good sex scenes"
The word Mary sue
The misuse of the word Mary sue
Any attempt to make a "LOTR inspired" book made by a man
Because usually the things that made LOTR good go just over the authors head and we end with basically a vin diesel movie set in the middle ages
This is not just about modern literature but books about or set in horrible moments for a oppressed minority(like holocaust or slavery) written by people who aren't part of said minority
Coleen hoover
She did for feminist literature what Seth MacFarlane did for adult animation
The harry Potter/Percy Jacksonification of children's literature
The magical choose one trope being taken to a magical world did irremediable damage to children's literature
The mean girl trope
Books set in fictional middle ages but the protagonist go to balls in fashion show modern runaway style dresses
You know the tacky Pinterest glittery showing shoulders back and leg
Those official arts of the same exactly white women and the same white guy in slightly different clothes with the same 2016 style eyebrows and the sharp jawline and the nothing expression
Characters being described as "golden skin" so depending if the author needs some representation points they can be interpreted as people of color but if no one says nothing they stay as just tan white
Comparing dark skin color to any food
How many authors try to make at the same time "this is brainless wish fulfilment fantasy about being desired by a hot dominating guy" and " this is a profound take about the horrors of abuse"
Usually by having the second love interest to abuse the protag
In the end the message that stays is any abuse is forgivable if the abuser is hot enough
The "I'm skinny but not hot super model skinny I am ugly skinny my bones show because of malnourishment"
"yet I don't feel any other effect of starvation like being weak and I can carry five times my body weight in whatever animal the author needs me to hunt in the beginning of the book because making me a farmer wouldn't be cool"
"I am ugly" cried the skinny girl with locks of auburn hair porcelain white skin and eyes of emerald green.
The jk Rowling stupid name school (she named the werewolf Wolfy mcwolf in Latin and people though it was smart now we have a girl who fights on a island named island and the archer who marries a fae named fae archer )
And again faes because fuck faes

I know so many people want to see some jealous Eddie this season. But I really want to see some jealous Buck because it’ll be different and fun. We’ve had plenty of jealous and possessive Eddie moments throughout the seasons. I want to see Buck, who finally embraces his sexuality and realizes who he wants, to be a bit jealous. I think it’ll be good to see some healthy jealousy and possessiveness and who knows, might even turn Eddie on to see Buck like that.

Water 7 was like specifically engineered to hit on every single sensitive spot Usopp has and honestly he almost under-reacted with how nuts the circumstances were for the moment that he snapped:
1. They just came off a fight where Aokiji knocked them around like it was nothing, where he had this realization:
So he’s going in already feeling super inadequate, more than he usually does (which is a lot already).
2. Relatedly, up to this point fixing the Merry was his job because they didn’t have a shipwright yet. Her being unfixable probably felt, to him, like a personal failing because he was the one in charge of fixing her
3. The Merry was most like another crew member to him because he’s the one who worked on her most, AND he was the only one who saw her klabautermann at this point
4. The big elephant in the room here is that Kaya was the one who gave them Merry. So, you know, he’s attached to her most for this reason too
5. There’s also the fact that this probably hit on the very specific trauma of his mother’s death, because she also got sick enough that everyone deemed her unsavable.
6. On top of all that, it also hit on his trauma regarding his dad and abandonment: he doesn’t want to repeat that and feel like he abandoned a crew member who needed him.
7. Speaking of abandonment, seeing a situation where, in his mind, the crew leaves someone behind who is now deemed useless probably touched on a lot of his own fears about his place on his crew and own perceived usefulness
8. He had also just been brutally beaten twice on the same day and is pretty badly injured, compounding both feelings of usefulness and aligning him with the merry in his mind in terms of physical state.
9. He had also just lost the money they needed to fix the Merry, again compounding the feeling that he was useless AND he was responsible for the Merry not being fixable
10. He woke up to the crew, who had already processed the news, telling him about it AND that a decision had been made, which made him feel like it was a him vs them thing
There’s probably more I think but yes, it is completely unsurprising that he fell apart so spectacularly
