SERIES MASTERLIST
part two
— — —
For your twenty-first birthday, you decided to be casual and cliche and go out to a club with all your friends. If it wasn’t summer, you would have invited some of the wags, but at least you managed to steal Petey!
“Well doesn’t my girlfriend look hot,” Trevor smirked as he slid his hands around your waist from behind and kissed your neck.
“Trev! I’m putting on mascara!” you laughed.
“You can pause to give me a kiss!”
You playfully rolled your eyes and turned to give Trevor a kiss so that you could shew him out to finish getting ready.
You were probably over doing it and felt like things were taking too long, and your thoughts were confirmed by your best friend knocking on the bathroom door frame. You turned around to see Quinn leaning against it with his arms crossed.
“I was voted to come tell you to “hurry the fuck up” and everyone else didn’t know how to politely say it,” Quinn smirked. “They figured I’m the only one that can get away with saying that.”
“I would never yell at Cole!” you feigned offense. Quinn quirked an eyebrow at you. “I would, however, take longer out of spite and I would never spite you.”
“Exactly,” Quinn nodded. “Now come here so I can fix your under eyes.”
The rest of the guys cheered when Quinn led you down the stairs and you played along and took a bow.
The drive there was chaotic at best, but that was standard practice for the clusterfuck that is your friend group. You were in Trevor’s car with Jamie, Quinn, and Petey. Jack’s car had him, Luke, Alex, and Cole.
Trevor seemed a little on edge, which was frankly pissing you off and everybody else in the car knew it. You were hoping that getting a few shots in him at the beginning of the night would loosen him up. But until then, you were just going to have to fake it until you make it by singing along (screaming along) to Taylor Swift.
Trevor eased up a little once we all got into a groove at the club, but he still wasn’t acting like his normal self. He was acting possessive over you; which you’d be enjoying if he wasn’t so angry about it.
“Alright, what is your problem?” you snapped at your boyfriend.
“I don’t have a problem,” he said moodily.
“Right,” you scoffed. “Because that was soooo convincing! If you’re going to be a grouch on my birthday, then I’m going to go dance with Jamie until you get your shit together.”
You didn’t let Trevor protest, but it didn’t seem like he was going to. He let you leave him alone and go off to your group of friends and stole Jamie away from the girl he was talking to.
“Y/N, I love you so much, but why did you just take me from a beautiful girl?” Jamie asked as he lifted his arm up so you could twirl under him.
“Because Trevor’s in a mood! He was bumming me out. Look at him! He looks so angry over there!”
Jamie took one look at his best friend and unfortunately agreed with you. Trevor looked like he could kill a man in the blink of an eye. Jamie sighed, “I’ll go handle it.”
Jamie left you, and before you could slip away to find another one of your friends, you were grabbed by the waist and pulled in close. You laughed and expected it to be Jack (who does that from time to time), but it turned out to be a stranger.
“What are you doing all by yourself, gorgeous?” the man whispered in your ear.
“I’m not,” you muttered as you tried to pull away. “Now, if you’ll excuse me…”
The man was letting go, and the second he did, you heard the sound of a fist colliding with the guy’s face. You gasped and whipped your head around to find Trevor panting and dark eyed.
You were so blind with rage that you didn’t have any time to process what exactly went down, but all you know is that you and Trevor are now outside of the club and you can’t get ahold of anybody.
“Fuck, Trevor!” you yelled and banged your fists against the door. “What is your problem?!”
“That guy was all over you! So excuse me for defending my girl!” Trevor yelled.
You snapped your head around to look at your boyfriend with fumes coming out of your ears, “He let go of me immediately! But you’ve been acting like a dick all night, and then you got us kicked out of the club on my god damn birthday! And I can’t get ahold of anybody!”
Trevor was spewing on about something in response, but you couldn’t hear anything from the sudden intense wave of nausea that just overcame you. You might’ve drunk a little too much in an attempt to drown out your boyfriend. You turned around and immediately threw up all over yourself and the wall. You crouched down and leaned your head against the brick wall, taking deep breaths to compose yourself.
“Did you listen to anything I just said?” Trevor asked you frustrated.
“I just threw up, you asshole, what do you think?” you panted. You stood up to face him, “Is all you care about yourself today? You just want to be this big macho man that protects the damsel in distress?! I’m not a god damn damsel, Zegras!”
“I never said you were!” Trevor shouted. “You’ve been all over every guy in sight!
Then came the police sirens. Apparently, you two have moved your argument into the street and caused a giant scene. And now you two were publicly intoxicated.
You two didn’t even argue at your arrest and got into the back of the cop car calmly. You two sat as close to opposite windows as possible in the uncomfortable hard seats and didn’t mutter a single syllable.
You didn’t know how you were gonna get ahold of anybody for your one phone call. When you got thrown out, you couldn’t get a single one of your friends to answer. It was your birthday, and you were happy that everyone was having fun and going off in pairs and coming back to meet everyone else off and on, and that was great! Until Trevor.
“We’re both calling Quinn,” you stated monotone after every protocol was handled and you two were given a phone call.
“K.”
You glared at Trevor as you dialed at his answer, and he did nothing but glare back. The police got some water and food in the two of you to sober up a bit before allowing you to make a call.
“Hello?” Quinn answered in a panic.
“Hey, Quinny, it’s me,” you said, suddenly feeling really disappointed in yourself and scared of how Quinn was going to react. “Trevor and I got… uh… arrested and we need you to come to the police station.”
Quinn was silent for a long time before responding with, “We’re on our way.”
You hung up the phone and told Trevor to not bother with his phone call. They stuck you both in the same holding cell, and luckily no one else was there.
“Tell me what you were saying when I was throw up,” you told Trevor as you sat down on a bench-like thing.
“What good will that do?” he sighed and sat on the floor across from you.
“We aren’t done fighting and need to get everything out before we explode.”
“Fine. I said I was mad all night because you’re so okay with accepting all an any attention from any male in sight. You bask in it. You dressed hot tonight, and don’t get me wrong I absolutely love it, but the second we walked into the club i could feel all the eyes on you and I knew you were going to enjoy it.”
And there was that rage again.
“I’m sorry, what? You think I dressed like this for the male gaze?!” You stood up to tower over him, and Trevor was quick to get up, too. “No, I dressed for me. Because I felt good in this outfit. And don’t act like I go out of my way for attention! It’s not my fault! Every woman gets unwanted attention, and sometimes I’m just having fun with it! Because you do the same fucking thing, Trevor! You seek it, you thrive in it!”
“I have to act like that, Y/N!” Trevor shouted. “I’m being nice to fans! And yeah, it’s nice to have those interactions of them loving me, but that’s not the case for you! God, you have the biggest victim complex I’ve ever seen! I’m sorry you have trauma and daddy issues, but it’s no excuse to do the things that you do!”
You gasped and tears began to well up in your eyes. Trevor’s eyes widened and his hand flew to his mouth. He knew that he just crossed a line.
“Fuck, Y/N, I didn’t mean that! I am so sorry–”
“Stop talking,” you cut him off.
“Y/N I–”
“I said stop fucking talking, Zegras!” you snapped.
Trevor walked to the bars of the cell and leaned his head against them while you sat back down and tried not to sob. Quinn marched in seconds later, and he was fuming. He heard everything.
“Quinn!” Trevor panicked. His body language was tense, and he immediately knew that Quinn caught what he said at the end of his rant.
“She said to stop fucking talking, and I highly suggest that you listen,” Quinn said, venom laced in his tone. A cop came over to unlock the cell and told you that you both were free to go.
“I’ll pay you back for all of it, Quinn, thank you,” Trevor rushed out.
“No. You’ll be paying me back for your bail. I’m paying for Y/N’s. You’ll also be paying for the hotel that you’ll be staying at tonight because you won’t be stepping into the house until she says it’s okay. You’re damn lucky Jamie had your keys, otherwise you’d be getting yourself an Uber to pick up your car.”
Trevor decided to be smart and kept quiet, only offering a nod to let Quinn know he heard him loud and clear. Quinn wrapped his arm protectively around you and led you out of the police station while Trevor awkwardly walked a safe distance behind. Jack and Jamie were standing outside of the station on a bench waiting for the three of you to walk out and immediately stood up concerned when they saw how you walked out. Jack came up to you and Quinn, and Jamie went to Trevor.
“How bad did you just fuck up?” you heard Jamie whisper.
“Monumentally,” Trevor whispered back. “I’m dropping you all off at the house then getting a hotel.”
Jamie sucked in a breath at that, “I’d say that’s a lot more than monumentally.”
Back to where you were, Quinn caught Jack and took you both to the side to talk without Trevor or Jamie hearing so you could give the two of them a quick run down as to what happened before going into heavy detail at home.
“Luke and I will talk to him at the hotel,” Jack said. “Sissy needs you, and frankly you might kill him.”
“Good call,” Quinn said.
The drive was tense. Jack drove so Quinn could sit in the back with you, and everyone else remained silent as you gently cried into Quinn’s chest to try to not make more of a scene. Once both cars arrived, Quinn told you to go to his room while he briefly spoke to Trevor.
“Don’t take back your permission,” you caught his hand. Quinn sighed and pulled you in for a hug and kissed the top of your head, “wasn’t planning on it.”
Alex met you by the door when you walked in and wrapped you in a hug. This was all that it took for you to let out the wracked sobs that you were holding in the entire car ride. Alex held you tighter and rubbed your back as soon as the tears started to fall.
“Tell me something good about him,” you squeaked.
“He loves you more than you know,” Alex whispered into your hair. “We couldn’t let him drive because he was crying so much.”
Alex held you in the foyer while everyone else stayed silent in the living room and kitchen. Quinn and Jack came in and Alex released his hold to pass you onto Quinn.
“Lukey!” Jack called out. “Let’s go.”
Instead of going to Quinn’s room like he wanted, you decided it would be best if you told everybody at once what happened. Various expressions were made as you recalled every single aspect of the last few hours in detail. Jamie was just about ready to kill his best friend, Alex and Cole came over next to you and each placed a comforting hand on you, and Petey stepped up as a caregiver and brought you some ice water to help you calm down.
“I can’t believe him,” Jamie scoffed. “He told me he fucked up, but that was a whole new level of fucking up.”
“He crossed so many lines,” Cole agreed in disbelief.
“Yeah, well…” you took a deep breath, “I probably did, too. I don’t even remember some of the other awful things I said before I sobered up.”
“He had no right,” Petey piped up.
You nodded and brought your knees close to your chest and leaned more into Quinn, “I don’t want us to go to bed angry.”
“I don’t want him in this house right now, Sissy,” Quinn said.
“I know; I don’t want him either. I just don’t want to go to bed angry. We’ve never done that in our four plus years of dating, and I don’t want to start now.”
“He said the same thing in the car,” Cole admitted.
“He was a real mess,” Jamie admitted. “He couldn’t tell us what happened. He could barely get a word out.”
You nodded and closed your eyes as more tears slipped out. You knew what you had to do– what you wanted to do.
“Cole, can you come sit with me while I call him upstairs?” you asked quietly.
“You don’t want me?” Quinn asked, confused.
“I love you, Quinny, but sometimes best friend number two is better suited for a job,” you slightly smiled at him.
“You got me there,” Quinn breathed out a laugh.
He let go of his hold on you as you accepted Cole’s hand to walk up the stairs with you. He sat down on the edge of the bed and kept your hand in his as you picked up your phone to call your boyfriend. Trevor picked up his phone immediately, “Hello?!”
“Hi,” you said quietly.
“Y/N, I am so sorry. I cannot believe–”
“I’m sorry, too,” you cut him off. “We’ll talk about everything tomorrow. I just didn’t want to go to bed angry.”
“Yeah,” Trevor sighed. “Me either.”
“I love you,” you breathed. You squeezed Cole’s hand in fear that he might not say it back.
“I love you, too,” he finally answered.
“Always?”
“Forever.”

How would Venti feel if we asked him to be our boyfriend? :3 in the real world au
Venti Boyfriend Headcanons:
Tumblr media
Ok so I have no idea if "boyfriend" is like a common term used in Teyvat, I see no reason why it wouldn't be, but I can't think of a specific instance in which I have read it, so for the sake of making this funnier, I'm going to pretend like it isn't
Also this literally just turned into boyfriend headcanons so whoops—
Warnings: like nothing, this is just wholly fluff
-
• "Boy,,, friend??"
• His face falls as soon as he hears you propose it
• Is generally distraught that you didn't think of him as a friend up until this point
• You two had known each other for so long and shared so many wonderful times together
• Were you only just now considering him to be a friend???
• "Venti... Venti no—"
• You have to explain that concept in words he understands, romantic partner, significant other, lover
• He almost passes out when it finally does register
• "You mean it!? You want to be like that? With me???"
• "That is generally what a person means when they ask somebody to be their boyfriend—"
• You are now both on the floor because of how quickly he tried jumping into your arms
• "Yes yes yes! I love you so much, thank you! I'll be the perfect boyfriend!"
• The only problem is he doesn't really know what all that entails in your world, if it's different from his world
• Research time
• One hundred percent the type to look up "how to be a good boyfriend" and find like a wikihow, then study it intensely
• Notes were made
• Tries to at least attempt everything that he sees (and thinks is a good idea), then very carefully studies your reactions to decide how he wants to proceed
• Cooks for you and makes you things and considers any time that you are hanging out to be a date
• Is constantly showing you off to everyone and everything
• Takes great pride in being the person you chose for a partner, also becomes a little obsessed with keeping that title
• Loves hearing you call him yours, it's an immediate sure fire way to brighten his mood
• "Pleeease, one more time, I won't ask again, today."
• It's really impossible to deny him when he looks at you like that, in a manner that can only be described as completely infatuated
• You sigh, this being the fifth time today you've been forced to do this, "I'm glad you're mine, and I would choose you over anyone Venti."
• Giggles and hugs you, thanking you and promising to prove himself even more
• Constantly refers to himself as your boyfriend when anyone asks, or doesn't ask
• Wants to meet all your friends, anybody that you interact with consistently, anybody related to you
• It's a way of showing he takes the whole thing seriously
• Also, you're going to have to constantly be explaining how your boyfriend is, in fact, old enough to drink, and significantly older than you, for that matter
• Nobody believes you
• I think I've really driven the point home about how much he just absolutely loves physical affection
• So that's going to be happening a lot more now
• He'll probably get more diverse in his pet names too, making a game out of finding a new one
• "Oh my one and only, light of my life, peak of my existence, where are youuu?"
• "You know my name works fine, right?"
• He's also gonna take up house husband responsibilities
• I mean, he was already doing that, but without the addition of knowing he was doing it
• "My angel you're back! I missed you soooo much, tell me all about your day~"
• On a good note, he's going to be way less effected by jealousy because he now has a title to prove that he's more important to you than everybody else
• If he ever needs to confront somebody that he's jealous of, he's going to absolutely rub that title in their face
• He's just so happy that you love him and he considers the title of being your lover to be so much farther above all the other ones he has

Stumbled upon your blog yesterday and realised you were the one behind the Utena Bet On it AMV, plus all the other videos on that channel! I had a friend who had already watched RGU reccomend the show to me and when I finished the finale she sent me a bunch of videos, essays, meta, memes she really liked about Utena. Out of the videos your vine videos, your bet on it amv and your tiktok sounds utena videos all featured as Things U Gotta Watch. Top Tier. And they are! I cannot stress how good they are. I've got a friend I'm trying to get to watch utena and I'm already prepared to send your whole channel her way.
Like, your Bet On It amv is just crazy - to the point I associate the whole song with utena instead of high school musical. High School Musical Who? I have driven home from work with the song blasting and in my head I'm thinking of the corrosponding imagery in my head. listened to the song a LOT just thinking of the amv. 'blame the world but never blame you' and it focusing on anthy. the start 'everybodys tryna get in my head' with everyone who manipluates utena? the bridge speeding up through all their utena/anthys relationship until utena gets up again at the climax of the song? This video is a masterpiece.
The vines and the tiktok sounds are soooo spot on and hilarious. every onee. and seeing an upbeat version of 'empty chairs at empty tables' to the end of utena emotionally altered something in me oh my lordie. I got introduced to the song The Draw from your other amv, which is SO PERFECT for the black rose arc?
And as a Lizzy McApline fan the ceilings youtube short took me OUT! the way the details about the car, the lines about 'you dont exist' being applied to utena's prince/akio, 'story ive seen before' being the prince/princess/witch ohturi mythology and ending with anthy at the end....... !!!!
All this to say I love all your utena edits on youtube and will be watching them many times over, as well as showing them to other people. Great work. ╰(*´︶`*)╯
🥺 This message is so damn nice and I have reread it multiple times cause oh my god your appreciation of my videos just makes me so happy and I'm so glad you watched and enjoyed them!! 😭 The support I've gotten from the fandom is very heartwarming, I just love it!!!
Yes hehe I'm the one behind all those videos! The Bet On It video specifically was one that lived in my head for YEARS until I finally sat down and decided to make it everyone else's problem too 😂 I would just listen to the song on repeat while geting overly emotional imagining Utena's journey and the fact I was tearing up to a Troy mf Bolton song was so unhinged 💀 yet now look at me, I have spread my vision like a plague amongst the fandom and everyone else gets to be just as unhinged over the golf course disney movie meme song as I am ⛳️ I would have it no other way. My favorite comments on that video are the ones along the lines of "I clicked this thinking it was gonna be funny but now I'm crying" cause if that doesn't just sum up the experience of Revolutionary Girl Utena itself then idk what does 😂
RGU's tonal conflict is one of my favorite things so choosing goofy audios for the end of the show was such a treat lmfao. And ugh The Draw is just such a good and ominous song. I rlly love how the Black Rose arc is all about radicalizing character's emotions to the point where they'll do anything to get what they think will fix their lives. Reverse therapy with Mikage is a hell of a drug. 🦋☞
I rlly feel like Ceilings captures that self-sacrificial "first love" feeling so many girls go through (especially with men) where they're uncomfortable and can't be open but ignore all those red flags until it gets to a point where things crumble and they realize the relationship never existed how they were imagining it. GAH THE FEELINGSSSS.
Sheesh thank you so much again for this message, it really brightened my week and was so touching to read. 😭💜 If I may humbly offer some video suggestions (if you haven't already watched them) I really love the For Your Love amv by Mari F and the Utena in 7 Minutes amv by Akilice. The first rlly captures that melancholic yet hopeful tone of Utena & Anthy and the latter has the audacity to make me emotional over a goddamn acapella Hamilton mashup of all things 💀 (the It's Quiet Uptown part literally destroys me every time.....). Digi Story has an Utena Deep Dive Analysis that I really enjoy, he talks about how RGU is "prismatic" in it's storytelling where there's no singular interpretation because there's just so much to look at and analyze. And finally, the Therefore You and Me animatic by edsartfactory literally changed my life it's ridiculously good!!
AHH thanks once again and I hope you have a great weekend!! 💞

no one asked, but here’s how I pronounce some of the *controversial* names in Kotlc.
Keefe: Keef. I heard it first pronounced Keefee verbally and I was like wut. Is that. Is that like a weird nickname. I’ve heard here people pronounce it Keef-ay, accent on the e. I would never pronounce it like that myself but I think the name sounds really good. I like it. Bronte: I pronounce it Bront-ee, though I’m pretty sure the real name is supposed to be pronounced Bront-ay? When I first read it, I just saw “Bront-ee” and didn’t— question it, and then my friend said “Bront-ay” and I was like ok. Would never change it. It might be an accent thing (I never thought of myself as having an accent) but “ay” at the end of a more than one syllable word just takes soooo long to think or say. (Same kinda thing with Alvar and Aldan. I say All-ver instead of Ahl-var and All-din instead of Ahl-Dan, which are both objectively not how letters work but who can take the time to say Ahl-var and Ahl-Dan in their head two billion times?) Elysian: I’ve never heard a ton of disagreements with this, but I’ve created them in my head with people, and I have heard it mentioned. Elle-we-Jin (J pronounced like the s in “Confusion”). It’s how my mom pronounced the Elysian Feilds when we read Olga da Polga (a kids book about a Guinea pig) and I never questioned it, and I never will. Ever. That book is a core memory I will never forget, by the way. More names that aren’t controversial because no one else makes this mistake, and if they did, then accolades, because I will die on these hills:
Ruy- Rhye. Rī. Is in the bread. Is in right. As in IM RIGHT AND YOUR WRONG- (kidding). Not Roy. (My first time reading the series I think I is read it as Roy once and I created a whole new character to fit this. I had no idea I was wrong. I started on the second book, so I didn’t have much understanding of matters such as “Who these people are”, “Where in the work this is”, or “What the hay is going on”. And. I cannot stress this enough. I would never have ever even thought to- I can barely say it. If you looked at those three letters and pronounced it like this- I love you, but what in. Tire. Nation (I know what I just said) Were. You. Thinking. When. You. Yes. You. Decided. To. Pronounce. It. Rue. Ee. As in the girl who died in the first hunger games book followed by followed by the most common letter in the dictionary? What is your psyche? RUEEE. That is how you spell that. Rueee. That. That’s it. I love you. You are valid. It is fiction. You can pronounced Jurek as Steven and that is fine. But what-
Moving on, another way in which I am wrong. Gethen. (Autocorrect has been killing me this whole time) Hear me out, long E sound on that first e. Is this not normal? I didn’t question it. This is my problem. But I said it aloud and my sister was like “GeEtHeN? ThAt SoUnDs LiKe A dIsEaSe” (paraphrased) (meaning she never said that and I only remember a little bit of this conversation). And yes. Geethen sounds weird. It sound like a strain of bunion that grows on your ankles and in your throat. I agree. I do not deny this… But is Gethen really… better? I just- is there anyone else who says Geethen? Things I care less about:
Rhomhilda. Short O sound, right? Apparently not to everybody? Rōm-Hilda doesn’t roll of the tongue, and there’s an H for a reason? to wrap this up, obviously, this all obsolete. This is my opinion. Much of it is incorrect, and knowing this, I will take this information, and die on a a hill with it nonetheless.

i'm extremely tired so I can't think of anything specific but tell me about tamara I feel like she's the one I know least about what's her vibe...
well BASICALLY she’s very like. the character you would expect to get the “she’s the braincell” treatment. she’s got that hermione granger realness. that annabeth chase swag. that nancy stranger things vibe. that brenda maze runner slay. lone female character in a book about some fucking dude syndrome. we’ve all seen it. the difference is i love her… and she’s also not actually Like That but well thats a given to you because as we know, the perception of female characters only ever has a 50% chance of being correct to how they actually are. basically she’s a little freak who pretends she’s normal and gets away with it because she’s rich and everyone likes her… she has the cunty Freak levels of snow season one ouat. it’s not always easy to notice in the books because well the narrator is call and he’s an idiot with sooo many of his own problems he rarely has the time to update us on everyone else. but seriously he and tamara are terrible aaron is sick of their shit and loves them sooo much <3 anyway. basically she’s soooo bitchy all the time because her parents suck majorly and her oldest sister died and her parents think she’s going to end up just like her and she lives her life like she’s constantly trying to pass a test that’s never over and she’s so fucking miserable because she never had friends until aaron and call but now she has friends and she loves them soooooo bad it makes her look a little stupid sometimes….. she’s like mom dad you have to let my friends stay with us for the end of summer they’re sad and lonely and poor…. and her parents are just fine with that because aaron is like a trophy because he’s The Makar (he’s the chaos mage they’ve all been waiting for for like 15 years that they expect to save them from the bad guy chaos mage. it’s complex basically he’s emma swan) and call is like. a fucked up stray cat tamara found in an alley that bites everybody but her and she loves this cat sooooo much that it would just be mean to tell her she can’t keep it because at the end of the day the expenses of the cat are not so bad and she takes care of it really well and you never even have to see it because it’s always with her. anyway yeah that’s call to tamara. she loves that freak <3 and she’s so cuntslay and cool and kind of annoying and the Worst and she loves cheating on tests and sneaking around and just generally getting up to mischief and she’s such a BITCH sometimes and i love her dearly that’s my friend tamara…

okay i was revived by a thought i had concerning chiyo's atsv stuff ( yes again asdf ), so!! let's get into shiori's death and chiyo's harry : )
so there's two reasons shiori's death really shook chiyo up. the first one is obvious -- shiori is the first person chiyo really loses after becoming s.pider-woman. she'd been lucky up until then, able to overcome most villains and obstacles and save everyone, keep them safe. when shiori dies, it's the first time since uncle ben that chiyo hasn't been able to save somebody. she thought once she learned how to fight and got her powers under control, she'd never have to lose a loved one again. but it turns out she can't save everybody, even if she trains like hell and takes every precaution, makes a million plan b's. she can't keep everyone safe. she's just one person.
and that's kinda scary, considering an entire city depends on her.
the other less obvious reason is that at that point in chiyo's timeline, she hadn't met the green goblin yet. her world's norman hadn't become the green goblin, and his son certainly hadn't taken up the mantle, but that green goblin she encountered??? she sees his face, and he looks like her world's harry. her heart drops, she feels sick, and i'm gonna say one of the other spiders who's there has to push her out of the way or something bc chiyo's completely shaken. never in a million years did she imagine harry would ever become her enemy. that's quite literally a nightmare of hers and wow : ) it's coming to fruition : ) and the thought that she had to have done something to cause this is a haunting one.
soooo... chiyo has a lot to unpack there. does she try to stop harry from becoming a villain?? would that affect future events and harm her world?? how would she even do that, and how can she even look at him without thinking of shiori even though it wasn't actually him who killed her?? it's a lot -- too much, in fact, and exactly why she throws herself into the multiverse stuff bc why focus on her problems when she can focus on everybody else's :' ))

SO mistreated by customer with Blue? Kinda reminds me of work at the moment ^^;
Blue had the day off, so he stopped by your work to bring you lunch (and to see you for a bit). When he walked in, he spotted you at the counter. He waved, but your attention was currently occupied by someone else. That was fine. He could wait. He stood just inside the doors and watched as you spoke with the woman at the counter.
“I don’t understand why you can’t just give me the discount!” The woman slammed her hand down on the counter, making you jump.
“Ma’am,” you started, but the lady cut you off.
“No! I don’t want any of your excuses! I don’t care!” The lady drew herself up to her full height and seemed to puff up. “Do you know who I am, you fat ugly lazy cow?”
Oh no. Nope. This was not going to continue. Not with Blue here. Before tears could even start to well up in your eyes at the insult, your husband stepped in.
“I know you,” he said. “You’re Tabby’s mom.”
The woman turned in surprise, deflating suddenly at the intrusion of a new person into the conversation. “What are you doing here?” she sneered. “Don’t you have finger paintings to grade?”
Blue kept a flat smile on his face. “Nope,” he said. “I’ve got all the paintings graded. Tabby got a B-, but I think she can improve her technique. That’s why I came here to see my pregnant wife, because I’m ready for a break and it’s just about time for her to take one too.”
Tabby’s mom inflated again. “That’s your wife?”
“Yes. Isn’t she beautiful? She’s going to have our first child in just a few months. Everybody says she’s glowing.” He allowed a little bit of a twinkle to come into his eyelights at that, more at the thought of how you’d literally glowed a little while back. “I’d really like to give her the lunch I made for her, so if you could finish up your transaction with her, I’d appreciate it. Did she ring you up yet?”
This speech threw Tabby’s mom for a moment, but only for a moment. She quickly got back on her track and puffed right back up. Now she had someone else to complain to. “She won’t give me a discount when I have a coupon!” she snarled.
Blue looked at you. “Uh oh. What’s wrong, Ray? Why can’t you give her the discount?”
You waited a moment for Tabby’s mom to interrupt you, but when she didn’t, you said, “I tried to tell her that her coupon is expired. It was for last month. I offered her one of our new ones, which would give her almost the same deal, but she wouldn’t listen to me.”
“Because it shouldn’t MATTER!” Now she was on again. “I’ve been coming here for YEARS! I’ve spent soooo much money here! You can’t deny me stuff like this! I’m a valued customer!” She slapped her hand on the counter again. “I pay your wages!”
Blue sighed loudly. “Oh dear,” he said. “This is a problem. Ray, honey, why don’t you get the manager to come and take care of this, and you and I can go out to lunch?”
You took the offer like the lifeline it was. “Yes,” you said. “I’ll get the manager. Hang on just one minute.” You picked up the phone and called the manager in the office. By the time he reached the counter, Blue had already walked behind it and helped you down from your stool.
“I’m going to take Ray out to lunch,” he said to your boss. “She’ll call you if she’s feeling up to coming back. The doctor said she’s not supposed to be stressed out, so it might be better for her to go home and rest a bit.”
Your boss nodded. “Go ahead and take the afternoon,” he said. “I can handle things here.”
“Thanks,” you said, and you allowed Blue to lead you out of the store. As the doors closed behind you, you could hear Tabby’s mom going off on your boss. You climbed into the car and sighed with relief. “I thought she’d never stop,” you muttered.
Blue got into the driver’s seat and reached over to give your hand a little squeeze. “I’m glad I could come and rescue you,” he said.
You squeezed back. “My hero.”
“I love you, and that’s what husbands do.” Blue gave your hand one more squeeze and then turned on the car. “And don’t worry. I’ll have more words with Tabby’s mom at the next PTA meeting. She’s not going to know what hit her.”

I hope he’ll be a beautiful fool that takes my spot next to you
Pairing: Sonny Carisi/reader, past!Rafael Barba/reader
Warnings: lots of angst (I bring up Undiscovered Country.... soooo...) smut (it’s NSFW people lol)
Word Count: like 5k words? Idk it’s a long one folks but I deliver
Summary: Based on “exile” by Taylor Swift for @thatesqcrush ‘s Valentine’s Day Bingo! Basically the reader used to date Barba until she didn’t and ended up with Sonny. Rafael is less than pleased. This is a cliche pairing (for good reason! It’s so fun to write!) but I like to think I added a fun twist... Sonny is an absolute mess, Rafael is very jealous, reader is a tad bit vindictive. This can be read in conjunction with “Being Alive” but it’s really a detour and a very loose association... there are just references because it’s so hard for me to write for these characters outside of that lens since I’ve been writing it for so long. That being said this can absolutely be read by itself and this only works if Rafael and the reader didn’t progress as characters in BA anyway lol
Tumblr media
Murderous rage doesn’t even begin to describe what Rafael feels right now.
Behind the anger, there’s a sadness, cold and hard as stone, but he won’t touch that. It’s so much easier to be angry at Sonny than deal with anything that has to do with you. And that’s fair, isn’t it, anyway? Sonny swooped in the second things turned sour between you and Rafael and didn’t even give the two of you a chance to patch things up.
Or you went to Sonny of your own accord.
Maybe that’s more likely, but that hovers too close to the ache in his chest and he doesn’t allow himself to dwell there. Instead, he lets his ire build up until it consumes him, shooting daggers at the two of you across the bullpen office.
The two of you had always been touchy-feely - you were partners after all, very close, but you’d trained Rafael to swallow his jealousy. Told him you didn’t see Sonny like that. And for the most part, he learned to believe you. So now, he has to wonder how much of that was a lie, how much he didn’t see between the two of you, because there’s no way in hell you’d allow Sonny to touch you like this if it weren’t precedented.
Yes, at work, no less, you and Sonny are sitting at your adjoined desks, but you moved your chair to squeeze as close to him as possible. His arm is slung across your shoulder, a relaxed grip, because he knows there’s nothing Rafael can say or do that would make you leave him. Your head is resting on Sonny’s vested shoulder, and you’re laughing at something he said, no doubt a stupid joke that only you would find the humor in.
Death would be more welcome, Rafael thinks, then curses himself for being overdramatic. Still, when was the last time Rafael had been able to make you laugh?
Olivia had warned him of this new arrangement, but nothing could prepare him for this. Didn’t Rafael matter at all to you?
You lean up to kiss Sonny and Rafael thinks he might puke. —- Maybe Sonny should feel more guilty for kissing your mouth like you’ve been his this whole time, but he doesn’t. Because now he knows without a doubt in his mind this is where you belonged. He can feel the weight of Rafael’s gaze across the room, but he doesn’t mind carrying it, shielding you from it.
He did feel awful the day you came to him, your touch freezing and clammy from the inclement weather that you traveled through to get to his apartment, and then you practically pounced on him, told him you wanted him - and what was Sonny to do? Say no? No, after asking you a million times if you were sure, he gave into a temptation he’d be lying if he said he never thought about before. Of course, Sonny always imagined being between you and Rafael - he loved both of you in different ways, and the two of you seemed like a package deal at the time his original fantasies started to occur - but if you alone were going to come onto him, he’d be damned if he wasn’t going to oblige.
Don’t sleep with your partner was probably the first unwritten rule in becoming a detective, but it’s not like Sonny was going to stay at the precinct, anyway. He’d take Rafael’s place in the courtroom, too.
Still, when you first came onto him, he did feel a twinge of guilt, like he was hurting Rafael and you at the same time, in different ways, but then you explained it all to Sonny. How you always felt insecure around Rafael, that you weren’t sure if he really loved you, that you weren’t sure if you really loved him, that both of you had so much pressure to make this work that it started to fall apart under the weight of all your expectations.
You didn’t have to wait for Sonny to say he loved you, and you didn’t have to doubt it, either. He said it for the first time that same night, and he said it so fervently that you pulled his body back into yours, moaning your own declaration of love back to him. Maybe it was too soon, but he’d spent over a year pining for you (and Barba) in secret, and... well... he wasn’t going to waste what would be his only shot with one of you. He wanted you to know you would be well-cared for in his arms.
If looks could kill, Sonny would be dead on the spot and he knows this. But he also knows that jealousy is a cross Rafael has no right to bear. He had his shot, and he blew it. He should’ve let you know what you meant to him instead of clouding everything in his anxieties, his anger, his burdens from his past he never could let go of. Whatever he did now was too little too late, and even if Sonny had feelings for the lawyer, you always came first, and those said feelings would now never be stated out loud unless he got enough liquor in him and he was feeling sentimental that day.
Sonny used to root for you and Rafael, but he was always an embittered cheerleader, standing on the sidelines wishing someone could love him the way he thought you two loved each other. Appearances meant nothing, though. Now that you’ve let him in, he knows what you had with Rafael was far from the heaven you deserved.
And Sonny is all too keen to give you what you deserved.
As you lean up to kiss him again, he stops you for a moment, smiles down at you in adoration, and you giggle, “What?”
“Nothing,” he grins. “You’re just so beautiful, doll. I love you.”
Rafael’s gaze strengthens in intensity, and you almost turn to look in his direction before Sonny kisses you firmly, a smirk playing against your lips. This has to be killing Rafael, and Sonny isn’t usually that vindictive, but it gave him some sort of sick satisfaction that he was hurting Rafael just like Rafael had hurt you. And, you know, show Rafael what he was missing.
——
Sonny’s kiss is so warm, so comforting, but it doesn’t stop the ice running through your veins - you know Rafael is here despite Sonny’s best efforts to distract you from him. And you meet his eyes across the room for the first time since the night the two of you fought with each other for what would be the last time, the night you found yourself in Sonny’s arms instead. Those eyes add insult to injury, because you still know Rafael, and even if he’s standing across the room you know what he’s feeling. There’s anger there, but deep down you know he’s crushed at having seen you move on so quickly, and with someone he suspected you might leave him for in the first place. And he’s trying to drag you down to his level, get you to sit here in his misery with him.
This could break you if you don’t steel yourself, so you squeeze Sonny’s hand for support.
Sonny’s in tune with your body language, having been your partner for so long, and he stands to full attention, asking you if you’re alright.
“I’m okay,” you tell him, staring down Rafael until he makes his way over to your desk. You swallow thickly. Rafael when he was angry was never pleasant.
“This is cute, hmm?” he says bitterly, nodding sharply at the two of you.
“I like to think so,” you reply coolly, smiling at him.
“Barba, I know you’re waiting for Sarge, but can you please go wait somewhere else? She’ll be out any minute and you’re bothering (y/n),” Sonny asks, forever trying to be the peacemaker.
“She can handle herself,” Rafael says, chuckling sardonically, rolling up his sleeves nonchalantly. “Clearly. She doesn’t need you to fight her battles. But if you’d like to...”
“Mm, please, Rafael, like you’d get your knuckles bloody for me?” you snap. “Grow up. Everybody moved on. It’s time you do too.”
Rafael’s visibly taken aback by your verbal assault but he only lets it faze him momentarily. “Right. Moved on. Only took you five whole minutes to pack us up and leave me with it and you’re out here spreading your legs for someone else,” Rafael hisses, and you can see the moment when he realizes he went too far, the moment the wrath in his green eyes fades into regret.
“Get out,” Sonny says firmly, raising his voice enough to turn Amanda’s and Nick’s heads. “Get the fuck out. I don’t care how hurt you are, get out. You don’t talk to women like that. I’m honestly... I’m disgusted.”
“I... I am sorry—“ Rafael fumbles.
“A bit too late for that. I’m not your problem anymore, Rafael, so who am I offending now?” You ask. You weren’t upset by his statement - you did move fast with Sonny, faster than even you were immediately comfortable with, and you know how it must look to Rafael, how it must feed the flame of his absolute deepest and darkest insecurities.
Rafael glances around the room and realizes he’s caused a scene. Without a word, he leaves out the side door, forgetting his meeting with Olivia. He’s seen this film before, and the ending? It’s not worth sticking around for.
—-
Sonny could spend hours with his face between your legs, and he did. It was almost like the man never stopped talking because he wasn’t nose-deep in pussy - but you kind of chuckled at that thought because he wasn’t quiet even then. He’s always moaning, making obscene sucking sounds on your clit, talking to you, sending delicious vibrations straight to your core.
You come again, moaning and tugging at his hair, and Sonny adds to his total, grinning up at you, his face sinfully wet with your juices running down his chin. “That’s two down. Think you can give me one more before I fuck you?”
“Sonny, fuck,” you whine breathlessly as he runs his tongue over your now swollen and overstimulated clit. “I need a break.”
You love it. You’ve never had anyone this enthusiastic about pleasing you like this before, and you’ve never exactly been a pillow princess either, but Sonny protested if you even moved a muscle when he was going down on you, instead he’d chuckle and tell you to save your energy for when you ride him later. Not that he needed to be in you at all - you swear he could get off just eating you out. You never would’ve pegged giving oral as Sonny’s biggest kink, but you certainly weren’t complaining.
Sonny laughs heartily, crawling up the length of your body to kiss you deeply, the taste of you branded onto his lips and tongue. You moan as he rolls his hips against yours, the cloth from his boxers creating a tantalizing friction and you buck up against him on instinct.
“Ah-ah,” he tsks, moving off you to lay beside you. “I thought you needed a break, doll.”
You sigh, nodding, trying to catch your breath, but how could you, when he was still on the side of you, whispering dirty things in your ear? God, he really did never shut up.
“He ever fuck you like this?” Sonny asks, a devilish glint in his eye. For a second you think he’d take it back, apologize for asking such an intrusive question, but he doesn’t, and you know it’s because he’s just gone down on you for half an hour already and he’s got enough testosterone running through his veins he could kill anyone who glanced at you. Of course he was in competition with Barba, especially when he was this riled up.
“No,” you murmur, and you’re not lying. Sex with Barba was great, obviously, he’s very attractive and he knows what he’s doing. Rafael was a damn tease, but Sonny? Sonny was so much of a sap he couldn’t bear to hold anything back, couldn’t bear to see your lip tremble in want for even a second. And no one had time to fuck the way Sonny wanted to, drawing everything out and making you come so many times with his lips and tongue before he’d finally enter you. It’d always take a few hours, so this was usually saved for Monday mornings when the two of you didn’t go in until 3, or Friday nights when both of you were too wired to sleep anyway. Sure, there were days you were pressed for time and he needed to have you so more often than not he’d settle for making you come quickly on his face before pounding into you, but...
Rafael was a good, thorough lover, and god, you’d probably miss his hands for a long time to come, but Sonny’s tongue was such a good replacement.
“You just saying that, doll?” Sonny asks gruffly.
“No, honey, of course not,” you giggle. “No one’s as generous as you.”
“Generous? Huh. That’s a good one,” he laughs, and it seems like that comment brought out the underlying sap in him. His clear blue eyes soften and he smiles at you. “Nah, doll, I just love you so much, and making you feel good? What better way to show it, you know?”
This was a complete mess, you realized that, but you were blissfully happy in spite of it. How could you not be? It’d been an amazing three months. On nights the two of you didn’t work, you were treated to home-cooked dinners, bottles of wine, heated makeout sessions that always led to something more. If you worked, you’d take long showers together, massaging the knots out of each other’s muscles until you were both too dreary-eyed to stand.
Sonny was clingy, sure. You knew he would be, of course, and you weren’t used to that - sometimes you questioned if Rafael even wanted you in the same room - and it’s with a sudden realization that you come to terms with the fact that none of your relationships worked out because you needed that constant reassurance that Rafael and so many of your exes were reluctant to give.
It’s so easy to paint Rafael as a villain now that it was all over, but he wasn’t. You truly, truly loved him, even if he never took the time to learn your love language or make you dinner or marathon-fuck you. He showed his affection for you in other ways, but they weren’t as overt and it always left you questioning what he really wanted from you.
And anyway, it wasn’t enough to counteract the wrongs he’d done to you. Always making snide comments about how close you were to Sonny, to Amanda, to Nick, even... and it was in those moments you wish he didn’t love you so much, that he’d let you breathe instead of keeping such a constricting hold on you. You knew what he was scared of, he’d been cheated on before... but you hadn’t done anything.
He tried so hard to snare you down without taking into consideration that you already were his. Or, at least you had been.
When he got down on one knee you knew it was over. For him to be that insensitive, after you’d just gone through an accident and were barely coming back to life through damn near mandatory therapy and rehab... you couldn’t take it anymore. Didn’t he see the signs? You gave him so many, but he just never learned to read your mind after all that time.
And you didn’t want to be his, at least not in that regard. He wasn’t asking you for the right reasons. He was making up for lost time.
You never told Sonny that Rafael asked you to marry him, because that would wreck him and make you seem vindictive, but you have a feeling that Sonny knew anyway. Maybe Rafael mentioned it in passing. It doesn’t matter. You’d never be his wife now.
You didn’t intend this to be a long term thing with Sonny, but now you were used to him being in every facet of your life, and you supposed you did love him underneath everything. It was always Sonny who was there on those cold nights equipped with hot chocolate and cannolis, always him making you laugh when you were miserable about a spat you’d gotten in with Rafael, always him damn near reading your mind to give you what you needed.
Maybe it wouldn’t last. Maybe the two of you would go down in flames, too. Maybe he’s only being this amazing because he’s wanted you this long and he wants to show you what you’ve missed the time you wasted with Rafael, and it’ll fade once you’ve stuck around.
But you don’t think so, because you know he’s always loved you like this. The only things that have changed since you let him in is that he fucks you now and he’s practically moved into your apartment. He’s never quite kept his crush for you under wraps. On the off chance this is just a honeymoon phase... you’d still take it. It was bliss for now, and that’s what mattered.
“You ready for round three, doll?” Sonny asks. “Or you wanna sit there and daydream about Barba?”
“W-what?” you stutter, looking at him dumbfounded. “I wasn’t—“
“Don’t play dumb. I know you, (y/n).”
“Are you mad?” You ask, making your voice small.
“No. It’s only natural, right? I probably shouldn’t have brought him up in the first place,” he says, shrugging. “Still...”
“Don’t, Sonny,” you protest. “You’re not his understudy. I love you—“
“I know. That’s not why I’m saying that,” he says, kissing you gently. ——
Sonny would never tell you why he was saying that; why he brought up Barba in the first place. This was a fucked up mess, Sonny knows that, but he can’t help imagining you fucking him like Rafael used to fuck you. You and Rafael both have such dominant personalities, and it makes sense why you’d always be at each other’s throats in hindsight.
One of you had to be more dominant, though, and Sonny gets the sense that more often than not Rafael won your battles. But Sonny won’t even put up a fight against you, and for a woman who was so used to losing... maybe Sonny was doing you more of a favor than he realized. You’re an absolute tease, brutal, really... Sonny doesn’t know where you get the sadism because you’re so kind-hearted outside of the bedroom... but he’s never quite had orgasms like the ones you draw out of him either, so he’s not exactly complaining.
Okay, maybe he whines a little when you don’t let him come.
Or a lot. Whatever.
It’s so worth it, for both of you, even if Sonny can barely take the heat sometimes.
Sonny imagines Rafael doing that to you, too, getting you riled up and soaking wet just to say you can’t come until he said. Or teasing you while you were working (he’d seen that happen a couple of times) just to leave the precinct and leave you rubbing your thighs together in a vain attempt to relieve the ache between them.
Sonny could just never do that to you, lord knows. For one, he can’t stand to see you ache for him while he’s right there, while he can just give you what you need from him. For him he takes pride in the number of orgasms he can draw from you, not how explosive or mind-numbing they can be (although he likes to think he gives both in quantity and quality). Sex is all about giving to Sonny. It always has been. Besides, seeing you fall apart on his tongue? It drives him insane. Maybe most men don’t get as enthusiastic about going down on their girlfriends, but Sonny truly doesn’t think he could ever live without it.
Still... didn’t you take a little bit of your partner with you, even if it was over? In a way, Sonny realizes, he does have both you and Rafael now. Just like he always wanted. Because when you maneuver him where you want him, get bossy in bed, that’s Barba talking. When you drag his bottom lip between your teeth, fiery lust in your eyes, he can just imagine Rafael doing the same to you, you looking up at him with hooded eyes.
His favorite’s got to be when you speak to him in Spanish, whisper “te amo” to him under your breath, because that’s purely Rafael’s influence and nothing else.
Still, you’re mostly you- and that’s fine. Sonny always loved you more, anyway, he’s always been closer to you, always been head over heels for you the second he stepped foot in the precinct and Liv told him you were his new partner.
Sonny didn’t see a point in hiding your relationship from the squad. You were wary at first - everyone knew you just broke up with Barba, and making this public so soon would be a source of gossip. But he convinced you... through questionable means (make a girl come enough times and she’ll do anything you ask). At the end of the day, he doesn’t think anyone truly cared, even if Amanda made a comment; “Guess she’s a hot commodity around here. When’s my turn to date her?”
“I’m never letting her go now that I’ve got her,” Sonny had replied with a grin. “You missed your shot.”
“I was kidding,” she chuckled. “Good for you, though. You’ve been in love with her for a long time, puppy dog eyes and everything.”
Sonny just beamed back at her, but he wonders how obvious he truly was in his affection for you before the two of you started going out. Was it enough to make Barba jealous? Possibly. Maybe that’s why Barba was being so absolutely vile and hostile toward Sonny now, refusing to let him sit in on his closing argument rehearsals and making sure to send more snide remarks his way whenever possible. Sure, Sonny expected that, but if only Rafael knew Sonny loved him too.... Maybe the wound wouldn’t sting as badly as it did. There wasn’t a chance in hell Sonny would say anything now, especially with the way he talked to you the other day (you’d think a lawyer who handles mostly sex crimes would refrain from slut-shaming his ex-girlfriend, but, apparently his anger truly did get the best of him). Still, he’d always love Rafael just like you always would.
Sonny knew there was always a chance that he was just a rebound, that you’d leave him to go back to Rafael, but time goes on and you stay with him and Rafael stays bitter, barely looking at the two of you. Years pass and Sonny tries to extend an olive branch every couple of months, but Rafael would rather eat poison, it seems.
Fair enough. You couldn't say Sonny never tried. ----
Rafael spent a few years feeling like an exile every time he stepped foot into the precinct - and it wasn’t fair in the least. He was A.D.A. before you even got your badge. If anything, you should be feeling like the odd one out now that the two of you were over. This was his city.
But you’re not his homeland anymore. You haven’t been, not for a long time.
It was a new kind of torture every day, watching you and Sonny get closer, closer, closer… Rafael kept searching for reasons to leave New York City that wouldn’t have to do with you.
And then he found one.
Rafael’s standing outside the courthouse, where he just got acquitted for infanticide. It’s bitterly cold, he’s wearing his tan coat that you’d rarely see him out of this time of year. And you come up to talk to him.
It was rare that you did that, anyway, you did your best job to ignore him unless you absolutely needed to speak with him. But now he gets the feeling it’s time for confessions, words you always wanted to say to him all these years now that he was leaving out the side door of your life for good.
It’s a strange kind of sickness, watching you move on more and more, seeing your stomach swollen with Sonny’s child, your finger gleaming with Sonny’s ring, your last name changing to Carisi.
“You’re really leaving?” you ask, pulling your coat across your belly - it wouldn’t stay closed with the buttons anymore. You shiver, sip at your coffee.
“I can’t exactly stay now, can I?” he asks brusquely. “You really shouldn’t be drinking coffee while you’re pregnant.”
You snicker. “It’s not your baby, is it, Barba? Good thing, too. Wouldn’t want her to come out wrong. You might kill her.”
“Oh, fuck off. I don’t need this to be rehashed,” he snaps harshly, bitter tears leaving his eyes. “Did you have anything else to say?”
“It’s decaf coffee, anyway,” you mutter. “I really thought you’d have left a long time ago.”
“Why, because of you?” he asks, laughing bitterly. “Are you really that arrogant?”
“You still look at me like you want to kill me half the time.”
“Just… I still don’t understand what went wrong.”
“If you don’t know by now… I really don’t know what to tell you, Rafael. I gave so many signs. And Sonny… he treats me well. He gives me things you were never ready for, and I… The way things happened… they truly were for the best.”
“For who?” Rafael asks, fighting against his body’s overwhelming desire to break down and sob. Hadn’t he learned by now, though, that there was no amount of crying he could do for you? Still, when you left him, everything went to hell. He tried to pour himself into his work, and this… watching you get and stay happy was salt in the wound.
“I think leaving will be good for you,” you say, ignoring him. “You can move on. Meet someone new. Get a new job. New start. You know?”
“I think I’m too old for new starts,” he scoffs, shaking his head.
“Won’t know unless you try, hm?” you ask, nudging him in the side. “You’ll make it. You always have.”
“Not with you,” he murmurs.
“No. But you didn’t need me. You don’t need anyone.”
“Is that what you tell yourself, to make yourself feel better for what you did to me?” Rafael asks, his voice breaking a little. He was always so desperate not to show vulnerability, especially not around you… but what did it matter now?
“Rafael… we always walked a very thin line. You have to know that we weren’t going to stay together even if we tried to. And why should I have to be miserable just because you are?”
He stays silent because you have a point and he’ll be damned if he lets you know that.
“Sonny loves you, you know,” you say abruptly, and Rafael quirks up an eyebrow. You laugh. “Yeah. He’s very testy about it, but I’ve been with him long enough. I know he does. You should’ve jumped on him before I had the chance. He would’ve taken you. He would’ve taken both of us, but… you and I couldn’t share.”
“You can have him,” Rafael says, rolling his eyes. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”
“It’s just… you didn’t have to spend all these years hating us, feeling like a foreigner in your own city. We would’ve taken you back. You just didn’t want us.”
“I didn’t want the Carisi package deal. I wanted you. I dated you, not him. I loved you, not him.”
“First of all… I meant as friends. But also… Like you’ve never thought about it,” you tease, grinning at him.
Rafael rolls his eyes. “See, this is why we had problems. That’s not funny. Wandering eyes… that’s a problem.”
“It doesn’t have to be,” you say, shrugging. “Sonny’s surprisingly liberal. But that’s great that you were finally able to admit that your jealousy made me feel like I couldn’t breathe.”
“I’d argue my jealousy was warranted. I find it hard to believe that you didn’t fuck Sonny before you broke up with me,” Rafael scoffs.
“I didn’t!” you protest. “I’m not having this argument with you, because at this point, it doesn’t matter if I did or not, but I was nothing but faithful to you, Rafael.”
“Then how could you just move so fast?"
“It’s not like I just picked him up off the street. We’d been friends before.”
“Right. Friends.”
“Yeah. Friends,” you repeat sarcastically. “You see why we didn’t work out now?”
“Guess so.”
“You know, I do wish the best for you. Honestly. You deserve better than the cards you got dealt here.”
“You can say that again,” Rafael sighs. “I did really love you, you know.”
“Yeah. Sometimes that’s not enough. I loved you too.”
He takes a deep breath. “I wish you the best too. You’ll be a good mother.”
“Thank you, Rafi,” you whisper back, leaning over to hug him softly. There it is again; that cold bitter ache - when’s the last time you referred to him by that nickname? And now it would be the last. “Goodbye and good luck.”
"Yeah, you too," he says, rubbing your shoulder awkwardly, remembering a time when touching you was second nature. He watches you, your eyes make contact with Sonny's, and you turn back one last time to give Rafael a sympathetic smile... and that's the last time he ever sees you.

Mystic Messenger Saeran’s AE Thoughts (.......And Prayers..) #Spoilerz
Hello, I just finished Saeran’s after ending and I have a lot of things to say and I am going to write it down while I'm still all keyed up about it.
First of all… Please DO NOT ask me how much money I spent to finish this as fast as I did…. I’m grown but my bank account is certainly going to have a good ole fashioned CHUCKLE at this….. It’s been a long quarantine I deserve a lil happiness as a treat methinks!
I have been playing this absolutely insane game since I think 2016? When I first started playing the deep routes had JUST come out I think? And I was just finishing up high school and am now a college grad...lmao
I’ve played all routes at least once except Jaehee but i’ve seen walkthroughs of her route (I’ve heard it makes you hate Jumin and he’s my favorite so um. hehe). V’s and Saeran’s routes I found to be so emotionally intense and just….a lot and I've been waiting a long ass god damn time for this after ending okay…. I would theorize and make up an ending in my head but i’m no writer so it was hard to figure out lol. I’m a Jumin stan mostly but I love everybody and yeah I should probably play that jumin dlc too but I need like a DAY to recover from Saeran’s AE. Enough about me HERE are my thoughts on it overall
Major Saeran AE Spoilers under da cut!
Can we please discuss V showing up to the C+R conference room with basically chloroform and made everybody Pass Out like??? I was alone in my room at like midnight just SCREAMING at my phone???? And the creepy ass CG ???? It’s like that gif of sarah paulson from ahs being like “I put arsenic in the wine….and the pasta”
Anyway I screamed at V a lot during this process!!
Loved RFA being sweet and kind to saeran (before V fucking drugged them…)
This is such common V behavior “I have to do it all myself...there’s no other way..” GIRL SHUT UPPP You do this every route....
SO many CG’s and I enjoy them a lot
Saeran’s sprite looks a little TOO crisp compared to everyone else but maybe its a glitch??? V next to him is in 480p while saeran is like 1080p
Hearing both Saeran and Saeyoung missing the other brother the whole time??? PAIN. All my homies know is PAIN
BOSS and his V for Vendetta ass guy fawkes mask??? I literally yelled “this game is TERRIBLE!!” several times at my phone
Their dad is so>??????? When he was sitting on the couch with saeyoung in that one CG while simultaneously telling him to kill himself?????????? Maybe chairman han is actually the best dad in this game somehow
When V and Rika were like we’re back together teehee teehee okay pack it up bonnie and clyde ..
When chairman han calls u and says hes jealous of u and saeran…..HUH????? I’m calling HR
When they go to the apartment and see boss and vanderwood and poor saeyoung is sitting there seeing his brother for the first time in years i wanted to D word sooooo bad like PAIN...PAIN….
Can we HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT JUMIN HAN BEING THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME AND HE LOST EVERYTHING IN THIS AE……. he just took the blame and moved on jumin what the hell….. I love him so much r we serious? He watched his 2 closest friends betray him in the worst way and found out abt how Rika abused Saeyoung and Saeran???? I felt just AWFUL. Terrible ...Terrible….
Rika’s change in demeanor from Saeran's actual route is certainly a Choice. I find her much more bearable this time around and unfortunately i think I was too nice to her and ended up with a bad end LMFAO
I was happy to see Saeran stand up for himself and become stronger and confident. You go king!
The CG of Yoosung laying in Zen’s lap is everything to me…
HOWEVER YUP I sure did get a bad ending and I was so mad fdsafdskfdhsf ! (I would be happy to clarify how I got the good one the second time.) MAKE SURE To SAVE EARLY in days 2 and 3 bc the branches on day 4 is where the bad end will show up. For me it was the first day 4 chat and then a story mode titled “SAVIOR”.... If you see that RUN FOR THE HILLS!!
I was so mad! But I had saved in day 2 and replayed and MANAGED to get good end
I’m obsessed with everyone calling V and Rika “that psychotic couple” like…..its true its true…
No those two are so toxic… V’s route was torture watching them go on and on about the sun like yo can yall just call each other babe like normal people.
I respect straight people but not V and RIka that shit was just wrong… Straight marriage was a mistake
Oh lord i also FULLY Forgot Rika killed the twins’ mother…. Yeah that scene was um Certainly a lot but it needed to happen eventually
Like it’s good they know but damn that storyline is just so bleak
I think it was satisfying TO A DEGREE….To see Rika understand where she was wrong, why she was wrong, fess up and even APOLOGIZE! I was very surprised.
Saeran and Saeyoung are Certainly twins with the amount that those two self sacrifice in every route MY GOD…..
The scene with Jumin talking to his father and the other scene of him praying oh my god I cannot tell you how happy I was to see him begin to understand and address his own feelings in a route that was not his own. My main problem with Jumin’s route has always been the trapping MC in his penthouse aspect.. This way Jumin understands love and emotions without being overly possessive !!! YAY also loved seeing him be on good terms with his dad who was surprisingly profound
That last Story mode was Really a Lot…. and Strange things occurred which I will get into in just a minute
Jumin becoming a politician is so funny but ngl … i see it.
Yoosung going to france to study pastries ok king I see u! (it made more sense to me than the vet thing anyway)
Lastly Zen FURRY ERA
MY BEEF With the AE
I was happy with how they handled it for the most part. I think Cheritz heard our feedback about V’s after ending and was like okay….let’s try something different
HOWEVER
Saeran…. Sweet kind saeran… IS SO AFFECTIONATE HAHA….
He must have said I love you like 300 times…..very mushy gushy flowery language...and maybe that’s just his personality but for me it was like eating cake with buttercream cake. It means well, but god damn is it sugary and going to cause a stomach ache later.
He was just… SO MUCH! SO forward and ON all the time in his affections. I honestly felt kind of smothered and by day 3 and 4 I was sooooo over all the compliments… King you’ve come a very long way, but ur still putting MC on a pedestal and probably need to see a therapist.
Nextly….Rika and V….. Naw that knock out gas really ...that hurt lol. Coming from “I would do anything to protect RFA” V? Idk like…. EYE felt betrayed reading that. It was just hurtful. I can’t even imagine how the members would have felt as they were passing out. It was just so cruel. I suppose I understand why but like?? Just TERRIBLE
Them being in cahoots with the agency and the prime minister..HUH??? Also too much
V just felt so irresponsible like I do understand that he ended up in a weird web of secrets that’s hard to untangle but he’s so fucking stubborn he’s SO stubborn it makes me insane. Like sir… It seems like in other routes he wanted to try to protect Rika and the RFA.. But in this AE it seems more to me that he was like yeah i’m protecting Rika and That’s It… so fucking hurtful to me. Both of y’all apologize ESPECIALLY to the twins and Jumin..
The forgiveness thing…… Okay so I think some people will not like that Saeran decided to “forgive” the people who hurt him (Rika, V, Saejoong, his mother). I would point out that I actually think this was approached somewhat well. He says at one point that he doesn’t think they’re good or bad, just people. I think he sounded mature and like this was the way for him personally to accomplish his healing process. Would I have loved for Saeran to flip V and Rika off and kick Saejoong off a cliff? Yea I really would. But like…. If that’s what HE needs to do to heal then who am I to judge?
HOWEVER…. Everything Eye just said goes out the window when the scenes at the end with Saejoong come up… I was PERPLEXED. Like why did he HUG his deranged father who just kicked the shit out of him??? Also all the chat options that MC has with him r like blah blah you’re like this because no one loves you were so corny to me LMFAOOOO?
AND WHEN HE WAS IN THE ROOM LATER WITH SAERAN… i’m sorry but if that were me I would have called a nurse to deck his ass. Cool he turned himself in YOU SUCK SOOOO BAD AND I NEVER WANT YOU TO COME NEAR SAEYOUNG AND SAERAN AGAIN THANKS.
*scratches ass* I wish I got to see saeyoung and saeran finally sit down and have that first conversation after a long time and hug CG but the ending was fine I GUESS….. I dont care about ROMANCE I want those boys to be happy brothers together
Anyway that was really emotionally exhausting but I fr think I got it out of my system after literal years… And I can rest in peace knowing the choi twins are happy. THATS ALL I WANTED TO KNOW!!!!

Just Sit and Talk to Me
@wrightfamilyweek day 5 - Love Language. I'm not sure if I really captured this prompt, but I definitely gave it a try! You can read this chapter on AO3 here if that's more your style.
Trucy struggles with being a very young professional while also being a student.
oOo
“No, no, no! It’s not supposed to go like that!”
Trucy shouts up to the ceiling. The nice thing about living out of an office is that it actually seems to be better to be loud after-hours, because everybody has already left. Trucy’s now old enough it’s started to seem a bit more weird that they’re even allowed to live in the office. She asked Daddy about it once, and he said that he has some kind of agreement with the landlord, and doesn’t elaborate. Trucy imagines this must be like the Delites, or Gummy and Maggey, or anybody else that Daddy knows from his Lawyer days, where he helped them out over something, and now they’re trying to do the best they can to help him, even if he doesn’t like getting help. It makes as much sense as anything else does.
Anyway, that’s all to say that Trucy doesn’t feel bad about shouting at late'o clock and stomping her feet around. The nice thing about being raised as a magician is that she knows a lot of neat tricks. The not so nice thing about your magical family falling apart is that you have to figure out more tricks on your own. And the only performance you were a part of when you were in the troupe was helping your Daddy run away from the cops and giving your new Daddy the piece of evidence that got him disbarred.
See, Trucy isn’t a kid anymore. She’s a Teenager, and she can’t rely on her cuteness to keep her going for ever, nor the fact that she’s the only Gramarye still performing; nobody, including her, has heard from Uncle Valant in five years. She may have that Gramarye magic, that special spark, but the problem is that a spark doesn’t make performance. Practice, preparation, and creativity makes a performance.
And right now, Trucy doesn’t have much of a performance.
All she has is broken little pieces that aren’t working together, and she’s getting tired of trying to stick them together with glue.
“I hate it! I hate performing! I hate magic! I hate this!” Trucy shouts and stomps around her room because she can.
She feels drained, and tired, and maybe if she hasn’t been spending soooo much time studying for the end-of-year tests, she’d be a bit more focused, but she also doesn’t want to let her daddy down so she has to get good grades but then if she’s focusing on getting good grades how is she supposed to put together her summer show and-and-and-
“I HATE THIS!” Trucy screams, pulling at her hair.
“Truce?”
Trucy freezes where she stands and looks at the clock. It’s already midnight? When did it get that late? There’s a knocking on her door, one she hadn’t heard before but has the cadence of something that had already been done a few times before now, having a bit of urgency behind it.
“Truce, you okay in there?”
“Y-yeah Daddy! I’m fine! Just, um, just part of the-the uh, the show!” She calls back. She doubts even the worst competitors Daddy has played poker against would fall for her lie right now, and her daddy definitely doesn’t.
“Can I come in?”
“Just, um, just give me a minute!”
Trucy runs around her room, shoving the ripped props that hadn’t survived her most recent mess-up of the runthrough into her closet and the background details under bed. She checks her mirror, trying to see if she looks well put together. She has some dark circles under eyes, and there’s no time to put some make-up on to conceal it, but she can hide her frazzled hair with her hat. Her cape is all wrinkled, but she can fix that in the morning. She puts on her most dazzling smile, already knowing that this is a losing fight, that this isn’t going to work, but what other choice does she have but to try?
“Okay Daddy, you can come in!” She chirps and Daddy comes in. He has dark circles under his own eyes too, and Trucy knows that normally, if she hadn’t been screaming and drawn his attention, he would’ve gone into the office room and started working on his Secret Project for a couple more hours before going to bed.
“Is everything okay?” He asks in that voice where he clearly already knows the answer but is giving her the chance to just Tell Him.
“Y-yeah, everything’s fine, Daddy.”
Daddy frowns, and he fiddles with the little green charm he likes to wear around his wrist or neck, one she’s seen the Feys wear before. He comes into her room and sits down on her bed, looking at her patiently.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He presses.
“Not really.” She tries to sound defiant but she just sounds sad.
“Please, sweetie? You can talk to Daddy about anything, you know?”
“... I don’t think I can do this.” She says, small and quiet, barely more than a whisper. She almost expects her First Daddy to burst through the door right then and there, appalled and affronted.
“Do what?”
“Be… me .” She scrambles and fails to find a way to explain it. Because being a magician isn’t just something she can stop doing. Trucy Wright is a Magician, it’s written in her blood, but just thinking about trying to put together her show makes her want to scream again. Considering taking a ‘break’ and doing homework instead gets the same internal response.
How is she supposed to make either of her Daddy’s happy?
“Oh, Trucy.” Daddy says and pulls her into his lap. She doesn’t fit as perfectly there as she used to, and she finds herself hesitating before clinging to him. He’s so tired all the time, she doesn’t want to put this on him. It’s dumb, because it’s not a ‘want to’, these things are a ‘have to’. She has to do them. But she doesn’t want to, it feels like she’s getting crushed by it.
“I don’t want to take dumb tests! I don’t want to revamp my show! I don’t want to do anything!” She shouts into his shoulder. Daddy rubs her back.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. What’s so bad about those things?”
“Everything!” She wails.
“C’mon, it can’t be everything.”
She curls up further into a ball, making another frustrated noise, but her daddy’s presence, like it always does, is already doing wonders to clear her cluttered-up head. He has this way, where it’s like sometimes he can just take a hold of the cluttered-up mess in her head and lay it out plain and simple. But only if she lets him. There’s been times, where he’s stared at her, and asked her quiet little questions, and she’s made it plain to him that she doesn’t want to be doing this right now, and he’s sighed and left her to it.
“... there’s not enough time,” She explains. Daddy doesn’t say anything waiting for her to continue on, “Not enough time to-to-to do everything! I… Daddy, I need to get my summer show ready, and I need to study for tests, and keep up on homework, and then I need to perform twice a week, and… Daddy, where did all the time go?”
“If I knew, I wish I could tell ya.” Daddy sighes with his entire being, like he’s wilting into her. Trucy tries to curl up even tighter, like it’s just a matter of a little trick in order to turn into being an eight-year-old again, and able to be carried around by her Daddy if she needed to be.
“Daddy, I… I don’t wanna…” Trucy isn't sure what she’s trying to say, and the words get all tangled and caught up in her throat.
“Well… let’s start with what we have power over, yeah? You can’t stop going to school, so after tomorrow night’s show, we’ll go talk to Mr. Wunderbar and tell him you need to take a break from performing.” Daddy decides. Trucy gasps, tugging on his hoodie.
“No! But, Daddy, I’m finally doing two shows a week-”
“Truce, it’s okay,” Daddy pulls back and cups Trucy’s face in his hands. It’s only been recently, since she finally became a teenager, she’d been allowed to do more shows, “You’re still a little girl, you need time to be a little girl. So, how about until the end of the school year, no more shows. In the summer, maybe we’ll think about doing more? Once a month at first?”
“B-but-” Trucy starts to complain. Daddy taps her nose.
“Sorry pumpkin, but I might have to put my foot down on this one. No more shows until Summer. I can help you try and put your next one together, if you’d like, but right now we get through one thing, and then we tackle the next, okay?
“But I’m a teenager now! And-and-and I finally get to do two shows a week! And the mo-” Trucy’s teeth clack shut. There’s that joke about Trucy being the money-maker, the bread-winner, of their small family, but she was sure Daddy didn’t know that she was aware of just how true that was. Daddy does, indeed, blink in surprise, and then something akin to sadness falls over his face. Shame, perhaps? If it is, it’s a different color than what used to come over him those first couple years when people asked him about his old lawyer profession.
“... we’ll get through without, Trucy. I’m not letting anything happen to us. You need to come first, in front of that, okay?”
Trucy opens her mouth to argue again, but she’s so tired, and Daddy’s so tired, and a break? A break from five straight years of performances…? It sounds kind of nice.
She sits in her Daddy’s lap, marinating in his idea, coming to terms with it. Daddy doesn’t say anything more.
And it feels like a night of honestly, and truth, and reality, and so, tripping across Trucy’s tongue and off her lips is a truth she never tries to say, because her daddy is just so so busy.
“I wish you were home more.”
“...”
“I like talking to you, and being with you, and you’re always at work, or working on your secret project, and there’s nobody else to talk to about these kinds of stuff. I… I miss you, Daddy, even when you’re here.” She admits. She looks at her Daddy’s face, and his eyes do that thing where they fix on a spot below her face, and a shiver runs through him.
“... there we go.” He says, but he doesn’t sound happy about it.
“If we’re going to, to change things about my routine and everything, can we… can we change things… so that you’re home more?”
Daddy isn’t looking her in the eyes, looking down at her bed comforter.
“We’ll talk about it in the morning? Huh?”
Trucy holds onto her Daddy for a bit longer.
She’s heard comments from parents at school, picking their kids up, about watching their kids grow up and grow away from them. Trucy feels a little like she’s seeing the exact opposite happening slowly through these past five years.
She lost her first Daddy all at once, and her new Daddy is slipping through her fingers like sand.

Chapter Twenty-Nine
ROBYN
Tumblr media
I called Mel to blow off some steam, but her phone was going straight to voicemail. To say I was boiling was an understatement. Half an hour later, I found myself asking for a shot of whiskey at the nearest bar. Some place that probably hadn’t had a new customer in weeks.
“I’ll take a water with lemon” John stated, his eyes roaming the dark room. The place was small, yet cold and unfamiliar. There wasn’t many people here, but you could tell the few present were regulars.
“Thanks for coming in with me, I know this ain’t in ya job description” I sighed, trying my hardest not to dump all my problems on him.
“I’m just glad you got up out the house. I was beginning to think you replaced me”
“You know better than that! You ain’t getting rid of me that easy” I chuckled in surprise. I tossed back my shot and motioned for the bartender to refill me, wasting no time to toss that one back too.
“This whiskey’s not gonna have you trying to throw bottles upside my head again is it?”
“I promise I’ll behave myself” I crossed my heart with my right hand. “Sometimes, I get so worked up and I just need to take the edge off. Whiskey helps.”
“Don’t let this shit be your go to” he advised, glancing over his shoulder to see who walked in when the door opened.
“Shopping is my go to, Mary Jane is definitely the runner up, but this shit easily takes third place.” I admitted, nonchalantly. “Everybody needs an outlet”
“You gonna have to find some better outlets. I know it’s hard, but I’ve been where you are before and it ain’t a pretty place. I’m not going to sit back and watch you spiral downhill.”
“Eh, to each their own. I’m sure you got your outlets.” I shrugged, before requesting another refill and quickly gulping it down. John just shook his head and looked back at the door as a couple of people walked out. I loved how alert he always was, it made me feel safe. Safe enough, to order another shot.
“Can you at least slow down?” he demanded rather than asked. “Ain’t no way yo tolerance that high.”
“Boy please! I am Bajan, we can hold our liquor.” I teased, starting to feel myself. The whiskey had my temperature rising, so I slid my jacket down on to the stool. The bartender placed my refill in front of me, this time flashing his dingy smile while his eyes burned a hole in my chest.
“Thanks, we’ll let you know if we need anything else” John practically yelled to snap him from his daze.
“Sorry man. We don’t get models in here often” he apologized before tending to the other couple at the bar.
“Bullshit” I blurted before falling into giggles. “I know I look like shit today, but that was a good save”
“You ready? Cause I’m ready to get up outta here.” John stood, with his mind made up. He’s never bossed me around before and oddly enough, it was turning me on.
“Wait, just let me get-”
“You’ve had enough, let’s go.” he ordered, looking down at me. I was beginning to imagine his dark skin on mine and realized he was right. It had to be the liquor taking over, so I shook the thought away and stood like he requested.
"Yeah, you’re right, I uh, need to do some shopping anyway.” I stammered, leaving a few twenty's on the counter before leading the way out.
The ride to the mall was awkward. I rolled and smoked an entire blunt to myself on the way. I could tell John was pissed, but I didn’t understand why or even cared to ask. I’m sick of people trying to give me advice I didn’t ask for. I’m grown as hell and if I want to get fucked up in the middle of the day on a Monday, then that’s what I’ll do.
“I know how long these trips can be and I don’t want you to feel rushed, just give me a call when you’re ready” he stated, once we reached the mall entrance.
“Don’t even worry about it. Thanks for the ride, enjoy the rest of your day” I added, jumping out the back seat before he’d even come to a complete stop. I didn’t want to be around his bad energy, that shit was contagious. I’ll just have to take a cab home. I’d much rather ride with a stranger than be judged.
Turns out John was right. I spent much more time shopping than I expected. There wasn’t much traffic and I enjoyed not having to wait in lines.  I treated myself to new clothes, shoes, earrings, and a new purse. Everything I wanted was in stock and I had many of the stores to myself. Apparently I picked a good day to splurge because I spent well over forty grand.
After shopping, I ordered some Chinese food and found a little corner to myself in the food court. I was so happy about the leopard print Louboutin booties I found, I had to put them on before I even touched my food. Something about leopard print made me feel sexy and I needed that feeling now.
I slipped my flats off and smiled as the softness of the booties welcomed my feet. They made me feel so good, I forgot about my bad day. I started to devour my food as if all the appetite I was missing all week suddenly appeared from nowhere. When I was done, I wasted no time getting in line at the ice cream shoppe.
I sat down again, taking my time and enjoying my chocolate chip, double dip cone a little too much. I was in heaven, oblivious to my surroundings. A weird feeling crept over me and I felt like I was being watched. My eyes shot up for a quick scan and immediately locked on the culprit. Christopher fucking Brown.
I stared back for what seemed like forever, but he wasn’t letting up so I decided to show out. If he thought he couldn’t stop looking before, he wouldn’t know what to do when I made him wish he were the ice cream.
“I knew my eyes weren’t deceiving me” a smooth baritone caught me off guard in the middle of my act. I sighed deeply before locking eyes with the one night stand I was supposed to never see again.
Tumblr media
“Today has got to be my lucky day” he grinned.
“Hey Stranger” I smirked, swallowing the big ass frog in my throat. I should’ve put my ice cream down, but I couldn’t. I just took bites instead of licks while he eyeballed my lips.
“Nah, call me Rocky” he pleaded, his eyes roaming with no shame. Fuck I thought to myself, realizing I left my favorite black leather jacket at the bar. My nipples were at full attention and an apparent distraction, so I crossed my arms.
“I thought we agree-”
“You really want me to treat you like a stranger after the way I had your body feeling the last time you saw me?” he asked, inviting himself to sit in front of me.
“We agreed to no names”
“Who are you shopping with, if you don’t mind me asking?” he quizzed, checking out my table full of bags.
“Damn you nosy” I frowned, shaking my head. “Who you here with?”
“Shit, I’m here with you. I just wanna know who about to be pissed when your plans change up.”
“How my plans change up?” I giggled, loving his persistence.
“I got somewhere I wanna take you”
“Boy you don’t even know me”
“I know what you taste like. You gonna let me taste you again?” he asked wetting his lips before biting the bottom one and slowly letting it out. Flashbacks of his lips on my body sent shivers down my spine. Before I could even respond, I could see Chris approaching at record speed with Nicki on his tail.
CHRIS
Tumblr media
“Thank you for getting me out the house today” Nicki smiled, taking a bite from her huge, soft pretzel. “This is exactly what I needed!”
“Me too” I mumbled between bites of my pretzel dog. I was glad I was feeling better than I had the day before, but I still felt crappy. Yesterday I laid around with a hang over from hell, but when Nicki called today I had to pull my shit together.
“I’m so glad Sam will be home for good today. All I can ever think about is what if he misses our baby’s birth”
“Aren’t you due next month?”
“Yeah, but look how fat I am! There’s no way I can hold this baby for another month!” she stood up and turned sideways for me to see her silhouette.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be back to yourself in no time. You’re having a healthy baby. That’s the important part.” I stressed and her face immediately dropped in shame.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-”
“Sorry for what?”
“Complaining. I’m grateful for this entire experience. I just wish Sam could’ve found a closer job sooner, but it’s done now and I’m soooo grateful” she beamed as her phone vibrated on the table. “Speak of the devil.”
“Tell him I said what up” I laughed at her girlish demeanor while she spoke with her husband. Somehow they pulled through their long distance relationship, even with the hormone roller coaster. I was happy for them.
“So are you spending Thanksgiving in Texas with Tae now that Mama got her own thing going on?” Nicki quizzed after hanging up with Sam. I hadn’t told her it was over with me and Tae yet, I was hoping to avoid this conversation altogether.
“Nah. You know me, I like to make my rounds. Are you cooking? I’m tryna come get one of your plates!”
“Noooo Chris! Holidays show a girl how serious you are about her. You gotta at least try to go see her, it’s important!”
“Well, sh-”
“Robyn”
“No, it’s not about Rob-”
“No, I was saying, is that Robyn?” she nodded across the food court towards the ice cream shoppe. Sure enough, Robyn was standing in line with three bags on one arm and her wallet in hand as she waited to order.
“Damn, she looks good” I blurted under my breath. I didn’t know where we stood since the last time we spoke, so I definitely wasn’t going over there.
“That hair looks so good on her. When’s the last time ya’ll talked?”
“Not long ago, and it wasn’t pleasant” I answered honestly, unable to take my eyes from her as she paid and grabbed her ice cream from the cashier. She quickly found an empty table, set her things down, and began to devour her ice cream in the most seductive way. On top of that, the dress she wore revealed every curve and way too much skin.
When she sat down, her eyes met mine. She refused to break eye contact and began to lick her ice cream with a flat tongue, curving it around the top. She winked at me, then opened her mouth wide before sucking her ice cream from the top, clearly giving me a show.
Tumblr media
“So ya’ll cool or not?” Nicki’s voice snatched me back to attention. My head snapped in her direction to see if she was seeing what I was but she was preoccupied with her phone. When I looked back at Robyn, there was someone else sitting in front of her, blocking my view.
This guy must’ve been enjoying the same show I was, too bad he didn’t stand a chance. Rob’s the kind of girl that doesn’t even give a guy two seconds if he’s not worth it, which made me wonder why this guy was still sitting there.
“I don’t know. Let’s go say wassup” I suggested as Nicki tossed the last of her food in her mouth, then followed me towards Robyn.
As we approached her, a huge smile spread across her face and she waved in our direction. I wasn’t sure what to expect but my nerves relaxed a bit.
“Oh my God! Look at you!” Robyn shrieked, jumping up to hug Nicki.
“No bitch, look at you! I was just telling Chris how bomb this haircut is on you!” Nicki returned the love. I tried to get a word in, but Robyn turned her back to me and proceeded to talk to Nic like I wasn’t even there.
“I can’t believe you almost done cooking the munchkin already!” She squealed, rubbing Nicki’s belly.
“Yes girl, exactly 28 more days!”
“Boy or girl?”
“We don’t know yet, we wanted a surprise”. They went back and forth for what seemed like forever, paying me no mind. I waited patiently until Robyn attempted to leave with the random guy without speaking to me. She tried to walk by me so I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me, catching her off guard.
“So you just gonna ignore me?” I asked, glaring into her shocked expression. It took a second of thought but to my surprise, she shook her head no, so I wasted no time leading the way to an empty table for a little privacy.
“How you been?” I began, instantly pissing her off.
“What you mean How I been?” she mimicked rolling her eyes. “What do you want Christopher?”
“I ran into Rayven last night..you wanna tell me what’s going on?”
"Wow, you pulled me to the side to ask about Rayven?” she asked, with slanted eyes.
“No, that’s not wh-”
“Fuck you Christopher. I should beat your ass like I did her” she frowned, attempting to walk off. I grabbed her hand and pulled her back to me again, with a little more force this time.
“Have you been drinking?” I asked, trying to smell it on her breath but only smelling the ice cream. “Who’s this guy your with? Do you know him?”
“Mind the business you chose over me. I ain’t yo woman.” she spat, before returning to the lucky punk waiting for her. Those words hurt like daggers but I was more embarrassed than anything.
“I guess it’s safe to say ya’ll not cool” Nicki spoke, breaking the silence on the ride home.
“I don’t know Nic, I think I really messed up this time”
“Ah hell, what you do now?” she shook her head in frustration as I caught her up on my cursed love life.
“Can I be brutally honest with you?” she asked, raising her brow as she stared me in the face.
“That’s all I’m asking”
“You sound confused as fuck! At the end of the day, who do you love?
“I can’t even lie. I love them both”
“Who do you want to be with....like forever”
“I don’t know”
“Well that’s your problem. You gotta figure out what you want” she shook her head in disbelief.
“It’s not that easy. See with Tae I have this clean slate, well almost clean. Distance is the only problem. “
“Which is a pretty big problem” she pointed out.
“But with Rob there’s so much chemistry, history, love... it would be hard to come back from what we been through”
“Well if you put it like that, do you want hard as shit or hard as fuck?” she teased, cracking herself up.
“Thanks for the lovely advice”
“I can’t help you bro, you on your own!”
“I can see that!”
“Nah, but for real, every time I’ve seen you and Tae together you seem happy as hell. I mean head over heels, you stay cheesing like a damn girl, and treating her like a princess. But when you talk about Robyn you seem unsure and even kind of depressed. I’m sure it’s because of the accident, and everything else that happened but aren’t you ready to put all of that behind you?”
“Put Robyn behind me? “I sighed, giving it deep thought. It wasn’t like she was fucking with me anyhow. After seeing her today I was even more confused than before.
“That situation is out of your hands at this point. I’m sorry, but it’s clear to me that Rob ain’t fucking with you bro. I can tell you’re not really taking Tae serious because you’re hoping Rob comes around. That’s bullshit and you definitely owe Tae an apology. Start there and just see where everything else goes.” she suggested, as she kicked her shoes off and kicked her feet up on the dash.
“That girl don’t want to talk to me”
“Of course not, you gotta go bigger than a phone call”
“Like what?”
“Like go see her. Go spend Thanksgiving with her! Have you ever been to her place? She’s been to your crib, your galleries, and met all your people. Ya’ll been together long enough, it’s time for you to meet the family. Matter of fact, you should pop up on her!”
“That’s actually not a bad idea.” I grinned, realizing how right she was. It was obvious I hadn’t been putting in much effort and that’s probably why she keeps one foot in the door and the other out. She just needs a grand gesture to know how important she is to me.
With Nic’s help, I came up with the perfect plan to get us back on track. Thanksgiving was less than a week away, so I wasted no time booking my flight and a room near her salon. All I had to do was show up and speak my peace. How hard could that be?

soooo… since no one replied or messaged me with an all caps text saying “NO DON’T DO THAT!!!!!” and none of my ancestors have come down from the sky to make me stop, I’m gonna assume it’s okay for me to use whatever pics/gifs I need to as long as I make sure to credit the source in-post. cool? cool. moving on!
I’m gonna talk about Bravetown for a minute. I watched this for the first time when I was having a really bad day, and it quickly became my go-to comfort movie. Lucas does such a good job, and as a victim of abuse myself, I was able to connect with his character Josh in a way that I don’t often do. and the rest of the cast was absolutely amazing! looking at the limited tumblr content for Bravetown, I saw a lot of praise for Josh Duhamel? the actor that plays Alex? I’ll have to check out some more of his work sometime.
I do have to say, though, that I wish they’d done things a bit differently. this isn’t really the kind of movie to get a sequel or a tv show, so there’s a lot of stuff that was left unexplored. I agree wholeheartedly with @teamimprov’s post about it as well (I would link it but I have no earthly clue how, so sorry) – Josh did kind of end up seeming like a side character in his own movie. it started being more about Mary and her family’s problems than about Josh, and while I was glad to see Mary find some closure, it felt like it came at the expense of Josh’s development. and at the expense of further angst, which is a crime that cannot be forgiven. I thrive on angst.
things I loved:
that last counselling session when Alex and Josh talk about Martha. the acting in this scene is incredible, and I nearly cried the first four times I watched it. made me feel really sad for poor smol child Josh.
all of the patriots’ dance performances were!!! so good!!! and the remixes, all the music, fuckin bless.
the fuCKING JEANS. FUCKING BRAVETOWN FOR MAKING ME FEEL SO FUCKING EMOTIONAL OVER A FUCKING PAIR OF JEANS DAMMIT-
Josh and Tony’s friendship? the purest. adorable. amazing.
that scene where Angie squeals and hugs Josh makes my heart and soul do loopty-loops. first because of Angie being so damn cute (and the height difference!!!), then because when Josh walked in on Mary and Angie arguing he closed off and left, but Angie opened up to him and he gave her a soft lil smile and said he’d help and he got a hug and aghhhhhh they’re both such adorable babies-
“I sure would like to come and see you guys.”   “then come.”   !!!  just!!!
Alex and his genius ways of getting Josh to open up to him. the soccer and pizza to make the sessions feel less like a court-order and more like two people just hanging out, swearing and getting mad at the tv to get Josh to see him as just some weird dude, telling stories about himself to relate to Josh and make Josh feel less pressure. maybe I’m reading too much into it, but c’mon. we’ve seen this guy do serious and professional. he’s perfectly capable of doing serious and professional. but he doesn’t with Josh, and I think it’s not only intentional, but really considerate. and oh my holy hell, the “why would I be there for anybody else” conversation. agreeing and then talking Josh around himself to come to the conclusion that he’s not as selfish as he wants everybody to believe – an absolute Einstein move, good sir. hats off to you.
Tony. that is all.
Josh being so sweet and gentle with Annie – talking to her quietly, asking to see the photos, laughing and giving feedback. this boy thinks he’s tough shit. he’s a fluffy adorable puppy and he doesn’t fool me. I have so much to say about soft!Josh.
things I would’ve loved to see:
the dance team’s relationship with Josh outside of his music. something I noticed in the movie was that – other than Tony, Annie, and Michael – no one had a relationship with Josh that wasn’t founded on responsibility (Alex, Josh’s parents) or Josh’s music and what he could do for them (the dance team, his “friends” in NYC). that isn’t to say that they didn’t want a relationship with him, but it wasn’t really shown that they did except in the case of Jim and maybe Mary. I think that Josh and Angie would’ve been an especially good friendship.
more relationship development between Josh and Jim. Jim seemed to honestly want to have a good relationship with Josh, and the morning of the invitational, Josh seemed to be willing to try too. can I please just have the two of them doing father-son stuff? please?
Alex being a big brother/weird uncle figure to Josh. I beg thee.
that being said, it would be very, very nice to see someone other than Alex learning about Josh’s trauma and being supportive. Josh and Mary’s argument doesn’t count. at all. speaking of…
Mary was a little bit of a bitch to Josh for the majority of the movie, and Josh was the only one I saw say sorry for anything. granted, what he said sorry for wasn’t even his fault, and he definitely should’ve apologized for the parts he played in their arguments, but at least he seemed to actually be apologetic. it also only felt like he was the only one putting any effort into their relationship, so it’d be nice to see Mary seem interested in him outside of the dance competitions and the couple times she said she was glad he was there/didn’t want him to leave. and yes, I understand that she was going through a really rough time in a difficult situation, but that’s an explanation, not an excuse.
Mary and her family going to Robert’s grave. maybe with Alex and Josh, but at all would’ve been cool. I get that baby steps are a big thing with Annie, but Tony lost Robert too. that kid does not get enough appreciation or support, and he deserved closure alongside Mary and Alex at the tree.
obviously I understand that movies can only be so long and can only show so much. but that’s the downside to a great movie – people want more of it. the deleted scenes were great, too. extra canon, yes please. I’m fairly certain today was at least the fifteenth time I’ve watched Bravetown. first time I watched it was in December, and geez if that doesn’t seem like forever ago.

Chapter 27 - Wonder whose arms will hold you good and tight (when it’s exactly twelve o’clock that night) [part 3]
Birds Of a Feather
(In the previous chapters: after a wild match of a new game called I Have a Ball, the gang can finally start the party; among the guests there are Chris and Matt of Soundgarden, Layne and his girlfriend Demri and a couple of Mudhoney guys; to avoid an embarrassing situation, Sara suggests a game of Never Have I Ever which, despite Stone’s objection, is endorsed by several guests: now they can finally get to the heart of the party)
At this point the guests had basically split in three groups: some of them were stuffing their faces in the kitchen, others were dancing and listening to the music and some were taking their seats in a circle in the middle of the living room to play the game. “I can’t believe I’m doing this!” whined Stone as he sat down on the carpet “What did you plan for midnight? Musical chairs or broom dance?” “Stop complaining Gossard, nobody forces you to play if you don’t want to!” Cornell retorted to him and then went on “And actually I planned something great for midnight… you’ll see” “Should we be scared?” Layla wondered aloud as she noticed the devilish grin on Chris’s face. “Not much more than usual” Mike shrugged as he sat on the couch between her and Lukin. “Anyway, there’s no children games or grown up games: a game is a game, then it depends on how you play it” the girl explained then turned around immediately when she heard someone beside her open his mouth. “Yeeeah, and it depends on how much play you get” Elias spoke like he came out of thin air. “Elias?? Where have you been?” “When you grow up, I’ll tell you all about it, my darling one” the guy gave her a blatant wink “Let’s just say that it involved physical activity with a blonde bombshell…” “I didn’t know that indoor plants could be blondes...” “What do you mean, Mr. Cameron?” “I mean that, apparently, you have a thing for ficus plants and you also find ‘em incredibly blonde; I saw you sprawled between them half an hour ago, but I never took you for a-fuck, what’s the name?” “... Dendrophiliac?”  “Yes, exactly! Thanks, Layla, you’re an angel” the drummer flashed at Layla one of his sunny grins, while Elias began to whine. “Matt, what a low blow! I expected that from everybody in this room – except you and Ed, and look where my admiration for you has led me!” “... What kind of hippie freak are you, O’Reilly? Hell, going at it with a vegetable?! And it wasn’t even a carrot or a pickle, what is your damag-” Jeff had looked at him all perplexed, but he was fortunately interrupted by loud coughs made by Layla. “Soooo, everybody here knows the rules?” the girl asked, but was met by skeptical looks “Jeez, what kind of adolescence did y’all have?” “One that didn’t include fun, apparently” Elias shrugged, still licking his wounds after his previous skirmish with Matt. “Ok, I get it: first of all, grab the poison of your choice” and, as she said it, she filled herself a glass of tequila that had been previously hoarded in the middle of the circle with many other kinds of booze. Soon after Sara had shrugged and grabbed a bottle of beer, while Demri helped herself to a glass of sangria and then, one by one, everybody followed their example and was having something alcoholic clenched in their hands. “Very good” Layla cleared her throat “One by one, each one of us begins their sentence with ‘Never have I ever’ and then proceeds to say something they have never done; if you did the thing that has just been said, you have to take a sip of your drink” “Milady, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention” Lukin declared, a hand upon his heart. “Now, this is the most important rule, so pay attention: you have to remember that the winners are the ones who have their glasses at their fullest” “... Layla, are you telling us that having a life as interesting as a sloth’s is the key to success?” Cornell scratched his temple, glancing at her in a perplexed way.  “I think she is” “Well, I have a question” Stone, unexpectedly, raised his hand “You talked about glasses, but many of us have chosen bottles, so it would take ‘em more time to empty that instead of a glass, right? Doesn’t that sound like a huge advantage to any of you?” “... he’s right, they have more booze to drink, that’s unfair!” Mike chimed in, pouting and waving his glass of whiskey in the face of everybody. “That’s not what I meant, Cready, lemm-” “But you can always grab another glass after you emptied the first, man! That’s what I’m gonna do” Lukin patted Mike on the shoulder, showing him his own glass of gin, and the guitarist returned to being his usual cheerful self. “Ok, so, who starts?” Layla asked, rolling her eyes. “Well, since you suggested the game in the first place, it’s only fair that you’re the one who goes first” Eddie answered gently. <The fact I’m also eager to know the things you did and didn’t do has got nothing to do with it, of course> “Oh, ok so ne-” the girl was answering but was immediately cut off by Stone. “Err-Ed, it was actually Sara who suggested it. Or the mysterious person she heard it from” “Huh? Oh yeah, you’re right, you go first, Sara” the singer admitted and mentally counted how many rounds were there before Layla’s turn. “Yeah, Sara, you can start” Layla winked at her friend and everybody else agreed but someone else chimed in again. “I have an idea. Why don’t we all drink a glass of something and the one who empties it faster starts?” McCready suggested.  “That’s what I call starting with a boom, I’m in, man! So 3… 2… 1-” Lukin immediately went along with him and brought his glass close to his mouth. “Nuh-huh, we’re gonna take it slow, it’s less funny if we all get drunk before the start” Layla innocently explained. “Now that’s not exactly true, miss” Lukin addressed the girl in a contrived way. “Everybody shut up! Sara will begin, end of the story” Stone took over and everybody simply agreed without further questioning. <Haha, I got the power> “Well, well, well” Sara tapped the bottle of beer against her lips “Never have I ever…” she stopped and looked Jeff directly in the eye “... got a love letter” Layla promptly gulped a sip of tequila, leaving Ed lost in his thoughts: he couldn’t believe that the Boston piece of shit could be able to make such a significant gesture. “Mikey, what the fuck are you doin’?” “Taking a sip, obviously” “... who wrote you a love letter? When did that happen?!” “My love life isn’t any concern of yours, Stoney” and, that said, McCready finally drank a bit of his whiskey, then turned to a pouty Lukin “Dude, why that sad face??” “...”  Lukin didn’t open his mouth because he was already near the stage of an alcohol-fueled coma, but Mike perceived his silence as a sign of possible discomfort and shame. “Don’t tell me that nobody ever wrote you a love letter!” he added, shocked “That is outrageous! But you don’t have to cry about it, if you want I’ll write you one” “... Elias, put that glass down; nobody’s gonna believe you” Stone changed his victim, who rolled his eyes but did as he had said. In the middle of all that noise, Demri and Layne shared a glance full of complicity and drank almost at the same time, while Chris and Matt clinked their glasses and unironically did the same. “Nobody specified if it had to be sincere or a bet would suffice as well, so…” Cornell smirked, then looked at Eddie, who hadn’t moved a muscle “Ed, you’re not drinking?” “Yeah, I-I’m usually the one who writes ‘em” the singer let out a nervous chuckle, then turned to the girl who was sitting next to him and that was muttering something under her breath “Everything ok, Sara?” The young woman’s gaze at Jeff was literal lava, ready to boil all over him. “That piece of shit… he doesn’t even have the balls to admit it, fuckin’ unbelievable” she snorted, then added in a loud voice “Somebody in this room is so full of shit it’s not even funny” When Jeff gave her a perplexed glance, she went on: “Yeah, I’m talking about you” “Man, what does she mean with that?” Elias went near the bassist in order to satisfy his curiosity, but the guy just shrugged. “She must have forgotten to take her medicine, you’ll get used to it” Jeff reassured him as he kept eye contact with Sara. <So what? Only because I’m lucky with girls, it doesn’t mean I gotta receive stupid love letters every day… And since when is this any of her business? Is she jealous? She fuckin’ hates me, how can she be jealous? And why does she fucking hate me anyway? Can’t we just have fun without problems for once?> Seeing the vein pulsing on her temple, Eddie put a hand on the girl’s arm: “Don’t mind him, you know how he is” he paused a second, then beamed with enthusiasm “Now it’s my turn!” “Who said that?” Stone asked after gazing from Sara to Jeff during their exchange like the spectator of a tennis match. “Well, we’re following the order…” Eddie explained pointing at Sara sitting next to him, then at himself, then towards Lukin and the other people sitting on the couch. “Who decided it’s counterclockwise?” Mike wondered. “How can you say cun- cou- caunt- county- oh fuck, how can you say that fuckin’ word when drunk?” Lukin tried to make a point. “Sadly not drunk enough, my friend” Mike wiped invisible tears from under his eyes while the bass player patted him on the leg. “Who cares if it’s clockwise or not, let’s go on!” Jeff huffed at Stone and flailed his arms, anxious to go on with the game, mostly to shift the attention on something else. “So – cough, cough! – can I?” Eddie hesitantly demanded. “Yeah, sure!” everybody prompted him to go on. “Ok so… uhm… never have I ever… got back with an ex” he said looking intently at the carpet beneath his feet. Some people drank, some people didn’t. Mike drank from his glass as Layla left hers untouched and gave him a puzzled look.  “Really, Mike?”  “What can I say? The soul is willing but the flesh is weak”  Layla nodded embarrassed and when she looked at Eddie, he looked down again pretending not to be staring at her, now acting preoccupied with his fingernails. <So she didn’t. But she wanted to. Does she still? She would be back with him already if it  wasn’t for the snow. It’s just a matter of time anyway… Shit, I should have asked ‘Never have I ever WANTED to get back with an ex’. I’ll wait for my next round... Will it be too obvious?> “Guess it’s my turn now” Lukin shrugged then stood up from the couch for no reason. “You don’t have to stand up to say the thing, Matt” McCready reminded him but he acted like he didn’t hear him. “Never have I ever… lied to a friend to avoid a greater evil” he stated then plopped back down on the couch with a burp. “Wait... this is a normal question” Jeff frowned as he, like everybody else, was expecting some senseless stuff. “Isn’t it alright?” Lukin asked and was about to stand up again, not without any effort, but Layla promptly pulled him down right away. “It’s alright, Matt, the question is perfect” she said and proceeded to drink from her glass. Steve, who hadn’t drunk in the first two rounds, did the same, just like Sara, Mike and literally everybody else. “Mikey, you basically did everything” Layne joked. <Yeah, finally something I actually did for real> the guitarist pondered and smiled. “Well, once I said I had troubles at home with my family and couldn’t make it to rehearsal. But I actually went to a party and got shitfaced” “YOU DID WHAT?” Stone and Jeff attacked him almost at the same time while the others just laughed. “You liar! And I was even worried about you” Stone shook his head. “You were worried only because you had paid to book the practising space in advance!” the other guitarist retorted, sticking his tongue out at him. “Do it again and I’ll bust your head wide open” Ament threatened pointing his finger at him. “You’re one to talk! Did you forget when you came late to soundcheck at the Off Ramp and said it was because of a jammed brake pad in your truck you had to check?” Mikey ironically asked “But what you actually had to check out was instead that girl from 7-Eleven?”  “YOU WHAT? GUYS, I’M SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTED” Stone folded his arms and gave them both a scolding look. “Well yeah, I can understand Mike, but I thought you were more focused on art, honestly” Eddie chimed in with a shitty grin on his face. “Huh, not you too, please!” “What does it mean you can understand me? I’m focused on my art too” the guitarist acted offended “Sometimes you just need a break, you know?” “Come on, give Jeff a break! And you’re right Mike, don’t listen to them! It’s your turn now” Layla tried to bring peace in the gang and asked him to go on with the game. “Thank you, Four Eyes! It’s your turn, Judas” Jeff looked up at the girl, then stared at Mike with narrowed eyes. “Ok, so… uhm… never have I ever flown on a dragon” he said as he brought up his glass as if he was making a toast.  “Hahaha, shut up! That’s not valid, man” Elias blurted out laughing at the guitarist’s face, just like anybody else in the circle. “Why not? You shut up” “Err, Mikey, actually… I think Elias is right in this particular circumstance: you can’t make unreal statements” Layla scratched her head and tried to convince him without irritating him. “Oh sorry, Miss Boulais, I didn’t know this rule. I’ll come up with something else” McCready reassured her and Layla sighed with relief “Never have I ever… been to Mongolia” Everybody giggled and Layla facepalmed. Of course nobody drank. “Mike, the aim of the game is not drinking, you know that, right?” Layla whispered into his ear. “Don’t worry, I’ve got my strategy!” he winked at her and then asked the group before taking the umpteenth sip “So? Nobody? Ok, looks like I gotta drink then” “You seem to ignore other rules too though, did you know that?” Lukin broke the silence right when Layla was thinking about her statement. “Which rules?”  “Once you said your Never have I ever, you can’t actually change it… unless you take a penalty” Matt went on to explain and for a moment Eddie detached from the situation and observed the scene as an external spectator. <Two drunk grown men debating about the rules of Never have I ever, and it’s not even midnight> “He had to change it because it wasn’t valid, not because he wanted to change it himself” Chris pointed out. “Right, Chris, thank you! I love you man, did I ever tell you? Oh, and what was this penalty supposed to be anyway?” “Easy. You had to drink all player’s cups. But since you didn’t want to change it yourself…” Lukin shrugged and Mike suddenly sat straight up on the couch. “OH, BUT I WANTED TO!” “Haha, but you just said-” Layne chuckled at him while Demri muttered to herself she was expecting this comeback. “FORGET WHAT I SAID” “But Chris just said-” Cameron wanted to join in the fun too. “FORGET WHAT HE SAID, FUCK CHRIS, OK??”  “And he said he loved me!” Chris pretended to cry on his drummer’s shoulder and Matt patted his head. “Stop being an animal, Cready, and let Layla speak. It’s her turn” Gossard reproached him and Mike sulked like a child. “Ok so… mmm…” Layla collected her thoughts and then spoke in one single breath “Never have I ever led anyone to believe I liked them whereas I actually had a crush on their best friend and so was just leading this person on to get to their friend”  “This is… very specific, El” Sara squinted at her, trying to understand what her friend was up to. “It’s just an average game question” Layla shrugged but didn’t convince the other girl. <She’s a worse liar than Mike> Only Stone and Jeff drank, therefore getting a reproach from Layla herself. Ed didn’t drink and this was a sort of answer to Layla’s little suspects about him and her roommate. She smiled at him but was almost more shocked about someone else not drinking. “... Mike?” “Yes, babe?” “You didn’t drink” “Sure I didn’t. I’d never be such a jerk to a woman!” he replied with a disgusted face making everybody laugh, whereas Layla beamed and kissed him on the cheek. “Your kindness is stronger than your thirst, I’m impressed” “My turn now!” Elias yelled and everyone focused on him “Never have I ever… thought a friend’s mom, ehm, a friend’s parent was hot”  “Wow, a dirty question, who would have thought!” Sara rolled her eyes but also drank soon after.  “What??” her roommate was sincerely surprised.  “Well, that was really unexpected… color me impressed!” Steve grinned at her, raising his glass high in her honor. “Some dads are really something else, you can’t deny that” Sara justified herself and high fived Demri, who had just taken a sip as well “Let’s just say that this particular man made me re-evaluate the role of hideous Speedo swimsuits in society” “Amen, sister” Demri let out a loud cheer and patted her on the shoulder. “Are you really drinking?” Cameron gave Cornell a weird look. “Don’t you remember the story about Kevin’s mom?” the singer clarified. “Haha right, I forgot”  Mike drank but nobody was surprised. “Oh for fuck’s sake, Jeffrey!” Stone reacted sadly at Ament drinking from his cup. “You’re such a bigot” the bass player grinned broadly. “I’ll never let you anywhere near my house and my mother again”  “It’s not your mom that I find hot, don’t worry” Jeff tried to reassure him but got an unexpected reaction. “Why? What’s wrong with my mom?” “N-nothing, it’s just-”  “So you think my mom is ugly?”  “Not at all, Mary Carolyn is such a nice woman”  “Oh, so now you’re on a first name basis! Do you think you have a connection or something?” “No, you just said that-” “Keep your dirty hands off my mother!” “You’re all making it up. I only meant that-” “Jeff, you’re stuck in a vicious circle. The only way out is to drop the subject and make your Never have I ever statement, since it’s your turn. Trust me” Steve gave precious advice to Jeff, who nodded and focused on what to say.  “Never have I ever burnt bridges with somebody without any reason and without giving them the chance to explain themselves” “... Damn, Ames, you take no prisoners” Chris let out a low whistle, and the bassist shrugged, waiting for the inevitable glasses raised, but they never came. “Fancini, you ain’t thirsty?” he raised an eyebrow and received a middle finger as a reply. <Yeah, there was absolutely no fuckin’ need to hear ya explaining why the fuck you acted like an utter piece of shit – the reasons were all there, so you can put this bottle up your ass!> the girl thought, trying to ignore him. “Seems like nobody’s gonna drink this round, so… BOTTOMS UP!” Layne clapped his hands while Jeff stood up and emptied his cup. “I swear I wanted to say the exact same thing, I had it on the tip of my tongue!” Mike whined – he hadn’t taken a sip because he hadn’t totally understood what the hell his bandmate had said, but if that question had allowed him to gulp down his drink, then he was sure that it had to be something brilliant. “Well… seems like it’s your turn, Stoney!” Layla chirped, a bit in high spirits but with her hands steady, now intent on refilling Ament’s glass.  “Never have I ever avoided to face something important until the problems became bigger and uglier, so I regretted not doing anything about it before” Stone laid it out as simple as that without losing the smirk on his face, looking left and right at the bunch of friends. <That was pretty easy…> Gossard thought <This is not a New Year’s party, it’s a reunion of the Unfinished Business Club... Well, am I the one to talk?> When Stone and Layla made eye contact, the girl thought the question was directed right at her. Everybody knew about her ex boyfriend by now. What they didn’t know was that their relationship was over before the “Eddiegate” and way before she put an actual end to that. She’d always been aware that things weren’t good, that she was just too attached and insecure to let him go. <I chose an allegedly perfect boyfriend who was never actually there over dealing with actual people and the whole process of getting to know each other. I was so scared, and still am, that I’d rather not risk it and preferred a relationship that didn’t make sense anymore> At the same time Layla instinctively looked at her left towards Eddie and stole a quick glance of him knitting his eyebrows as if he was pondering something. He didn’t seem someone who would avoid obstacles to her, she couldn’t imagine him running away from problems, she liked him for being honest and straightforward. <Yeah, I do like him> she said as she figured out she had two reasons to drink and took a sip from her cup. As Stone spoke, for some reason Eddie’s mind immediately went to the mixtape he had sent over to them a few months earlier. All his feelings about his family, his mom, his dad, his stepdad, everything he had kept bottled up for so long and suddenly came out all at once. At times he thought it was too bad or too late, some other times he even believed there was still hope for him. It was always either black or white for him, nothing in between. And he started to think that maybe if he had addressed his issues before, his life wouldn’t be the rollercoaster of emotions it was.  <Thinking about roller coasters…> he said to himself as he looked towards the right and saw Layla drinking. Eddie saw the situation very clear for a minute. How could he blame her for trying to get in touch with her boyfriend again, when he did absolutely nothing about her in the meantime? He had never told her anything or asked her out, except for the failed attempt to go to the movies with her alone. Was it too late for that too or was there any hope left? In doubt, he drank from his glass too. Next to Stone, Jeff had let out a huge sigh and rolled his eyes: leave it to his best friend to pour some lemon and salt over the wound, then worsen the situation by twisting a rusted knife inside of it and letting it fester. He suddenly felt a great wave of fatigue washing all over him, and pinched the bridge of his nose because he had the feeling that a headache was behind the corner; it didn’t matter how many miles he had tried to put between himself and the first half of that particular year they were about to say goodbye to: the past had its ways to come back and bite you in the ass, and his nights spent by mulling over years and years of regrets and lost chances could prove it. Just thinking about Andy was still able to give him nausea, because his mind inevitably drifted to the last time he had seen him – hooked up to the machines, an unrecognizable empty shell where once had stood a bright young man, full of hopes and dreams bigger than his own life. Andy’s addiction had always been the notorious elephant in the room: everybody knew it was there, but nobody acknowledged its existence. They had tried to make him understand how serious his situation was – how jeopardizing it would have been for their careers – and, for a while, it had seemed to work: he had been sober for a few months and was positive about their future, confident about their imminent success. In the morning of that goddamn day he was supposed to go to the gym with him, but instead had called him to say that he didn’t feel good; his voice had been kinda scratchy, but Jeff had thought nothing of it – he was sick and didn’t need a nanny around, the day after he would have been good as new, that’s what he had told himself… that’s also what he had repeated to himself when he had stepped inside the hospital that same evening, cursing himself because he should have understood that something was wrong in his voice and it hadn’t been the sickness talking, but the heroin. He had also cursed Andy for throwing their jobs out the window, then cursed again himself for being a shitty human being who in that moment could only think of financial stability and not the fact that his friend wasn’t there anymore and that the lifeless corpse lying on the bed was a reminder of how nobody – not even the brightest fellows – in the end can save themselves. Now his thoughts drifted to the last New Year’s Eve party he had attended, where Andy had been gushing nonstop over The Miracle by Queen: he had been sober for a while and his eyes were literally sparkling while he talked about the English band’s latest single and eponymous album. Nobody could compete with the level of enthusiasm that Andy always showed when he talked about Queen – nobody, except maybe one person. Jeff raised his head and looked in front of him, where a pale-faced Sara was sitting with her legs crossed: even from his place he could see how in this moment her dark lipstick and metallic eyeshadow stood out on her face. <Avoided to face something important until the problems became bigger and uglier… regretted not doing anything about it before…> Stone had been a direct witness of how messed up he had become five years before, when he had spent a whole week being dead worried and then it had only taken Sara a few minutes to make his world crumble around him, but he didn’t think his friend would be capable of using that piece of information to gain some advantage in a stupid game… right? Unless Stone had suddenly developed some serious telepathic skills, it would have been simply impossible: after all, it was a conclusion he had come to just in the last few weeks, so the deliberate jab at him had to be ruled out. After more than five years, Jeff had finally convinced himself that yes, that infamous day he could have indeed done something more; he could have persisted, insisted to talk to her and demanded some explanations after she had told him to leave her alone forever because, apparently, he had ruined her life and there was nothing he could do to fix it. She had clearly been in distress and he had obviously noticed it but, foolish as he was, he had preferred to indulge her instead of pushing the subject further on and trying to understand how he could help her. Sara had always been a reserved person – one could say that she resembled a vault – but maybe, with the right words and intentions, he would have been able to breach her notorious armor of stubbornness and pride, and she wouldn’t have disappeared for so many years, or at least they wouldn’t have been in those horrible terms. Maybe. He let out a sigh and drank from his glass and, in that exact moment, the girl fixed her gaze on him and noticed that he was already staring at her; she wrinkled her nose and turned her face away, as to avoid his inquisitive gaze: the last thing she needed was someone trying to understand what was going on in her mind. <Fuckin’ Gossrad and his disturbed competitiveness…> He was referring to that goddamn July of 1985, she was sure of it; he hadn’t been there when the outburst had taken place but he surely had comforted Jeff after it: that’s how those two rolled, talking shit about each other but always rushing to the aid of the other one whenever something – someone – terrible had happened to him. And that’s what she had been for Jeff: something terrible – something terribly weird, irritating, plain stupid like only a teenager can be; something to laugh about with his friends, to parade around like a shitty trophy, to forget as soon as the game had ceased to be funny, along with his old fake-ass personality and behavior, and never again to be talked about. It didn’t matter if her heart clenched whenever he laughed because he still got wrinkles around the corners of his eyes, like he used to do… she had to bury that annoying buzz deeper, alongside their old selves – fake or not – that they had so meticulously killed.  No laughter or smile could carry the same meaning of five years before. She couldn’t be fooled: she was the first one whose eyes couldn’t smile anymore, no matter how broad the grins she displayed were. She also couldn’t care less if anybody – her aunt Liliana, Leo, even Eddie – told her that she needed help, that she couldn’t go on like this, always internalizing, always stifling what she really felt, always thinking she had to face everything on her own… they could keep on babbling, she was still the one who in the end got to make the decisions. <Ok, my whole life has been a perpetual avoidance of every fuckin’ problem until it has all become a majestic mess, and there isn’t a single day that passes without me thinking I could have done something better with my life… so what? Does this give everybody the right to tell me how I should or should not live? Don’t think so> The girl finally ended her internal monologue with a scoff and emptied her glass, without the slightest intention of making eye contact with anybody.

Thoughts on Love, Victor Season 1
PSA: If you think that you might be gay, don’t get a girl emotionally invested! Please!
Ya know, at first when I thought about what I was going to write about this show, I thought that I should split the writings into the first half/last half of the show. Now I’m thinking “screw it”, if only because if I was going to go that route I should have stopped, parsed through my feelings about the first 5 episodes, and written those thoughts before proceeding with the next half. That, of course, did not happen, so to prevent the back half of the season’s events from miring the first half, I’ll just write about the whole shebang. There’s probably a joke about that word somewhere, I’ll try not to make it.
Anyways, let’s start by saying that on the whole, I really liked this show. It was not as good as Sex Education season 1, yet in my opinion waaaay better than HSMTMTS season 1. Most of the characters were likable and felt developed enough, it moved at a nice pace, and you can tell that a lot of heart went into this. Perhaps because we all watched this in a day, it felt like a 5 hour movie rather than a 10 episode tv show.
Additionally, I of course like the Latinx representation. The intersectionality of the Latinx community and the LGBTQ+ community has been presented on at least five TV shows to my knowledge: Ugly Betty, One Day at a Time, Diary of a Future President, The Baker and the Beauty, and now Love, Victor. Let’s keep it up!
As for the premise of the show itself, I *love* that this show acknowledges that Simon’s journey, at least at his house, was leaps and bounds easier than many other people’s. Victor’s parents are more conservative and religious, and they don’t have their shit together, so this is not the best environment to drop that bombshell in (which is why it was so incredible when Victor decides to do it anyway). Simon and Victor’s DM’s being a framing device for the show was a great way to tie the universe together.
The hook of Love, Simon was that you know all those cheesy and cliche rom-coms that straight people have gotten since the dawn of time? Well LGBT people deserve those stories too! Love, Victor is sort of presented with that same thesis in mind, which is why watching these episodes felt like different things I’ve seen before all over. The whole season ironically feels like Alex Strangelove: The TV Show, right down to the often cringy relationship with the girl, the openly gay love interest who conflicts our protagonist, and the goofball friend who chases after a girl who is seemingly out of his league.
Mia’s character felt a lot like Laila from All-American, being a black girl who is ordained as the hottest girl at school (which I feel like is a title only given in fictional schools), who also has a missing mother and problems with her rich dad. Pilar, on the other hand, feels like Casey from Atypical, in that she is openly rebellious in large part because of her mother’s infidelity.
Victor’s story this season sure was something to watch. The biggest question for me was, just how much sympathy should he be given? The world is inherently unfair to Victor. None of us should have to go through the agony and anxiety that so often comes with being in the closet and coming out. But for Victor to have visited those problems on Mia, who is going through things herself? That makes him pretty morally gray.
But he was still finding himself! But he loves Mia, just not like that! I get it, which is why he should have cut things off as soon as he got back from New York, no he should have cut things off when she asked him if there was “anything else” in her bedroom, no he should have cut things off when he literally felt like he and Benji were the only two people in the room at the concert, no he really shouldn’t have done this to begin with.
The line between Victor finding himself and him deceiving Mia is the conflict of the show, but the moment for me when I was like “Damn, Victor” was after he intentionally derailed Mia’s shebang-ing that she planned, he found the gall to lie to Benji and plan a seduction! That is why the season finale was so glorious. Because yes, while the world is unfair to Victor, he’s being unfair to the people around him.
I have made it a point not to read other people’s opinions extensively so as not to bias my own thoughts, but is Felix everybody else’s favorite? Felix’s character and arc was great. He was a supportive friend yet still felt like he had a story and stakes of his own, something which some TV shows get right (Sex Ed) and some TV shows get various shades of wrong (Jamie Johnson, Andi Mack). I like that he knew his worth and cut things off with Lake, and I like that she realized that her happiness with him should take priority over what others think of her.
I was soooo sympathetic to Mia. Her world is being turned upside down at home. Clearly, she has not even processed her mother being out of her life, and now her Dad is “replacing” her Mom while the baby is also “replacing” her! In Mia’s eyes, at least. Mia just needs to know that she is loved and appreciated. Which she *thought* of all people she’d be able to get from her boyfriend. Shucks.
As for the rest of Victor’s family, I also thought the parents’ storyline was pretty interesting yet unfortunate. Armando just can’t come around to trusting Isabel, which I actually kind of understand. Isabel, meanwhile, is being prevented from doing the thing she loves to do, which sucks especially because she’s in a radically new environment. Adrian is of course great, protect him at all costs. Pilar’s seemingly permanent mode of “angsty” is completely justified, as her friends back in TX are moving on just fine without her, she’s having trouble opening up and fitting in, and her family is WYLIN.
Some things that didn’t go so well for me was Andrew’s character, who feels like he’s just there to obstruct at any given moment. Y'all knew that when Victor and Benji were having that convo in the bathroom, someone was in the stall and someone was Andrew. Also, my guy, how are you not even somewhat aware that you are a total douchecanoe? I liked Benji, but Venji didn’t quite work for me because of all of the cheatation that it took to get there. Benji was pissed and ready to stay away from Victor permanently after the [attempted seduction], but once his relationship was over he was completely fine with putting his tongue down Mia’s boyfriend’s throat.
Overall, I really enjoyed this show. Some of these teen dramas I’m admittedly only watching for the LGBT content, so to have that be at the forefront of a show for once was amazing. The conflict was realistic if frustrating, and to me most of the characters seemed fully realized. Thankfully, the show didn’t even feel too “spin-offy” even with Nick Robinson being all over it.
In any given multi-season serialized show, the trajectory of the show goes one of two ways: the first season puts your feet on the ground of the series, and then later seasons go above and beyond with the storytelling (The Office, Breaking Bad, Bojack Horseman, Jamie Johnson) OR the first season is pretty great TV, and the following seasons fail to live up to its glory (The Good Place, Dear White People, really most every Netflix show ever). Which category Love, Victor ends up in is something to look forward to. Where do we go from here now that Victor is taking his first steps out of the closet?
Stray thoughts from the episodes:
The soundtrack on the whole, was not my cup of tea. I still liked a couple of songs, so that means somebody out there liked more of them.
I completely forgot Natasha Rothwell was in Love, Simon. More of her! More of Ali Wong! More of Beth Littleford! They were all great.
So Roger got his ass beat by Armando, and he still wants to get back with her?? Roger is reckless, man.
Speaking of reckless, Victor’s closet skills completely fell apart towards the end there. Assume somebody’s always watching!
Lake’s mother is a trip.
Good for the family for standing up to the grandparents.
Oh my god, Simon and Bram. Those guys are mine, and now they’re growing up and moving to the Big Gay City. They’ve come a long way.
Speaking of the Big Gay City, we were in Atlanta for a season and got *0* acknowledgement of the vibrant gay community there. More things to look forward to.
Was anybody else singing Selena along with Isabel? That is my favorite Selena song!
By rule of Felix being a male and Pilar being a female close in age, I immediately thought they were going to be a thing. The writers didn’t pull that thread too much...
That moment at the end there when we all thought Victor was going to hold off on his announcement only for him to go “fuck it” and say it anyways? And then he got to exhale? Perfect. chef’s kiss
What with June being Pride month, the SCOTUS ruling a couple of days ago, this entire show premiering today, and Delliot things going down in less than 24 hours, this will likely be the gayest week of the year. I suggest we all enjoy it.
Stay Peachy!

Class 1-A Girls as Roommates
Oh, my god, they were roommates
Tumblr media
Momo Yaoyorozu
First of all, you lucky bastard I hate you. Secondly, I’d like to make the point that Momo is wealthy af and has no financial need of a roommate. So, if you two are living, you’re probably already great friends with her or more.
Momo loves to share. She is an extremely generous person, so she'll totally offer you some of her food when she cooks and even some of her shower products.
Totally lets you borrow her clothes. Different sizes? She's gotchoo! Can and will create the best clothes for you. This is especially helpful if you have a date.
Speaking of her Quirk, its usefulness becomes really apparent when you two first move in and are still figuring out where things are or what you still need for the house. Bought that knife set but somehow forgot a can opener? Momo’s gotchoo again.
A great communicator and takes the initiative to make sure you guys are on the same page about chores. Despite her busy hero career, Momo still does a great job keeping up with her fair share.
Please sit and drink tea with her. She'd love it. Probably the best thing about being Momo's roommate is coming home at the end of the day to this beautiful woman omg are you're okay with just being roommates and catching up over cups of freshly brewed tea.
If something happens and you’re unable to pa your rent one month, Momo can cover it. Will not guilt or shame you over this. No matter what kind of petty roommate argument you two might have, she will never hold that over your head. Ever. Things happen, and Momo understands that.
The not so great...
Yaomomo is such a sweetie but...she's also a rich girl who is used to a lot space. Her furniture will fill up the whole apartment. An entire kitchen cabinet is stuffed to the brim with her teas, so you'd have to find some other space to shove your cereal.
Nonetheless, she tries very hard to be a good roommate - especially if it's her first place after moving out of her parents' house/school dorms - and this sometimes leads to her being overly accommodating. That and the above can lead to some tension between you two.
Momo has such long, beautiful hair...and it absolutely gets clogged in y'all's shower. Good luck.
Tumblr media
Mina Ashido
Mina is the fun roommate! I’m talking late nights spent goofing off, playing video games and watching movies or even just talking if you want. If you two weren’t best friends before moving in together, guess what?
You’re best friends now. or more?
Alien Queen is also Snack Queen. Our pink homegirl buys lots of snacks and is more than happy to share.
Um, garbage? What garbage? Her Quirk dissolves it and that’s one utility y’all are saving money on now to get Kaminari to help with the electricity
No matter how bad your day was, how shitty your boss, how long your commute, Mina can always make you laugh. Which is a nice way to end an otherwise completely shit day.
Actually pretty good about keeping the apartment tidy! Living in the UA dorm taught her a lot about being considerate of shared spaces and she’s always out and about anyway. So almost no worries about messes
Because she’s either out and about or doing patrols, you actually get the apartment to yourself quite a bit?? Ummm, SCORE! Until you start missing your pink roomie/bestie
That is, if she’s not inviting/dragging you out to do stuff with her! If you’re someone who needs a bit of prompting to get out of the house, Mina is great for that!
Also...the roommate who is constantly trying to hook you up with her friends. Like, I’m serious. If you’re not already seeing anyone, this die hard romantic will constantly try to set you up with people hey, roomie, pls introduce me to Kirishima. You won’t need a dating app ‘cause Mina Ashido is your roommate and girl knows everybody.
The not so great...
If you're pretty introverted or just really prefer quiet at home, being roommates with Mina can be hard. Mina is a social butterfly - loud and bubbly and all these other wonderful qualities that simultaneously don't mesh well with most introverts.
Speaking of social butterfly, she invites her friends over. A lot. And y’all know that the Bakusquad spells c h a o s
It would also not surprise me if Mina had a number of...ahem, overnight guests. So prepare for extra (awkward) company at breakfast.
Sometimes gets so caught up in her social life, all those hobbies, and hero work that...she forgets that rent or utilities are due. Whoops. You’ll have to remind her sometimes. 😬
Good luck if you have wooden floorboards. Mina loves to dance and this means a lot of scuff marks.
Tumblr media
Ochaco Uraraka
This cutie! 12/10 would room with her if I could
When she first started UA, Ochaco had to move to Musutafu and live on her on which I'm sure was a little scary for a 15-year-old girl and definitely lonely. She wasn't looking forward to being alone again after graduation but wait! She has you!
Really appreciates your presence in your shared home and will undoubtedly cherish you, even treating you like family. It makes her so happy when she comes home after a long day of patrols and having someone respond when she says, "I'm home!" Ochaco, lemme be your housewife
Video game nights with Dekusquad? Video game nights with Dekusquad!
Pretty clean and always does her dishes which automatically puts her the top tier of roommate categories, let’s be real.
She knows where all the deals are, when certain sales are happening, and where to go for the best discounts. And she shares all this hard-earned knowledge with her precious roomie (that's you, boo). Grocery shopping with her is intense because she gets super competitive about getting those deals before everyone else but it's also so much fun.
Master couponer. You knows those ladies that clip so many coupons that they sort them into little bags and actually sell them in bundles? That's Ochaco. She's even part of some online couponing groups.
But she always hands you the coupons for your favorite snacks.
The not so great..
Ochaco works really, really hard and takes on a lot of missions. So, when she gets home, the usually upbeat hero can be a little...grouchy. By grouchy, I mean snappy and sulky and -- who is this woman and what did she do to your sweet, adorable roommate?
Seriously, just don’t talk to her or make a lot of noise until she sleeps for 10+ hours and eats or she might send you floating to your shared ceiling.
That roommate who will get on you if you leave any of the lights on or stay in the shower for too long. She is NOT shelling out extra cash on utilities next month because of you!! honestly same
Tumblr media
Toru Hagakure
Another fun roommate!
We’ve seen her room, and we can tell by looking at it that she loves to decorate. If you (probably) have different tastes than hers, Toru will find ways to compromise and combine both your preferences to decorate your shared apartment! You know what that means?
Ikea trips. Toru’s enthusiasm alone makes it so much fun but it’s not as fun when you inevitably lose her in that Swedish labyrinth. (Hint: Check the various kids’ sections. She got distracted by the cute plushies.)
If you two are not constantly updating your interior design, you’re at least adding to it. it makes the space just uniquely yours and feel so homey.
Toru has some real 👌👌 taste in movies. Her movie collection makes for some awesome movie nights. Bring all the blankets, plushies, and the like and you’re in for a chill night.
Out of everyone on this list, I feel like she’ll be the easiest to convince to get a pet. She skips the “well, who is gonna pay for food?” talk and doesn’t spend any too much time deliberating over her busy hero schedule - just jumps right on in to the nearest adoption agency.
Congrats, you’re now parents of an adorable, slightly grumpy rescue cat. Which - bonus - actually makes it so much easier keeping track of Toru because it’s almost always brushing against her legs or on her lap.
The not so great...
Definitely the nosy roommates. She wants to know all the details about your life and is the type to peak into your room because she's curious. Her Quirk only makes all the easier for her.
She likes to leave cute or funny messages on the fogged up bathroom mirror or with magnets on the fridge which is cute but...unnerving when an invisible being sends you random messages in your apartment.
....and according to the wiki, she loves hidden-camera prank shows? Welcome to Jackass, roomie. You’re gonna get pranked.
Also because of her Quirk, she often has to remove her clothes to make full use of her invisibility but this has also lead to a bad habit of leaving articles of clothing throughout the apartment. You often find random socks and gloves and even shirts out throughout the apartment.
Tumblr media
Tsuyu Asui
A+ roomie. Seriously, give this girl all a gold star.
Super tidy, super considerate, and super stoked to live with you. She’s used to a full house and honestly wasn’t so sure about living on her own straight after graduation. Then came you!
Tsuyu looooves to cook with you. If your cooking skills need work, she’ll happily teach you. Out of everyone else on this list, you share the most meals together.
Soooo many blankets and pillows in your apartment! Tsu needs the extra layers during winter and honestly, just build a blanket fort for you two. It’s great. just roommates huh?
Absolutely will text you just to check in if she makes it home before you and has no problem either waiting up for you or even walking to meet if it’s dark. And honestly, what’s better than
Being super straightforward, Tsuyu always lets you know if there’s something up with the apartment or just if she’d like you to be a little quieter coming home. Also an observant person and checks in on your needs/preferences as well. Y’all rarely have any typical roommate spats because she’s direct and makes sure to communicate.
We stan a sweet, considerate frog roommate in this household.
The not so great...
Because she grew up taking care of two younger siblings and then lived with the entire 1-A class (19 teenagers in one building -- that's insane) in the dorms, Tsuyu actually has little tolerance for messes in common spaces.
Tsuya Asui ain’t your momma. You're both adults and you both pay rent, so she expects you clean up after yourself and will call you out if you don't.
Especially about those dishes left in the sink. You can say that you just left the pots in there "to soak", but Tsuyu ain't buying it. And she tells you as much.
Not above shaming your messes on her Snap story i’m that petty roommate or bringing up that you forgot to take out the trash in front of other people.
Tumblr media
Kyouka Jirou
She's the cool roommate. By that, I mean the one you’re lowkey bragging about when you describe her to your friends. Girl is a hero, plays pretty much every instrument, and is just a cool person in general. It’s hard not to brag.
Seriously, just her mere presence alone makes your place at least 70% cooler than it would have been if you lived by yourself. That’s how cool she is.
Super respectful of your privacy. Like, she won’t even know what your room actually looks like unless you actually invite her in.
Great roommate banter. Kyouka has a great dry sense of humor and likes to tease people, so you two can go back and forth all day.
Great texter. She always gives you a heads up when people are over or if you guys need anything for the apartment. Bonus: lots of hilarious pics of Bakusquad being idiots.
Don't tell her that you can hear her when she sings in the shower; it'd just fluster her and make her self-conscious. But being able to listen to that amazing voice in your own home?👌👌👌
If you're someone who doesn't necessarily need or even want a tight knit relationship with a roommate, Kyouka is your best bet. She's generally really chill and won't get hyped over being best friends.
That said, she’s a pretty empathetic person and easy to talk to. She’ll absolutely stay up late with you just to talk if you need it. Gives great advice.
The not so great...
You will lose track over how many times you ask her to turn the music down.
Like Mina, Kyouka comes as a package deal with the Bakusquad. Kyouka doesn’t invite them over often because even she doesn’t want that chaos in her home but sometimes it’s inevitable.
She’s not much of a cook. Plus she’s pretty busy keeping up with her hero career, music, and group of friends, so she doesn’t have much free time anyway. This means she orders out - a lot. Good news? Hardly any friction over cleaning dishes. Bad news? Her take out boxes leave little room in the fridge for your food.
BONUS: Regardless of who you room with, you’ll hardly ever worry about a break-in or any crime in your neighborhood because your roommate is a professional hero and will kick any home intruder stupid enough to try anything.
