hi mod! you are the person i know who knows and is most excited about fish, and my favorite way to learn is to ask people whose passion and delight i am already familiar with. i know this is stuff i could find digging around on yt or search engines but it is just less fun and often less informative. but ofc feel free not to answer if you don't have the time/energy etc!

i am coming to realize that i would really like fish (after attempting to convince my wife that he would like them and then they pointed out that it kind of sounded like *i* wanted the fish and well). but i am very chronically ill (spend most of my time laying down in bed) and also poor. i'm worried about not being able to take care of them well enough.

assuming i restrain myself (that is don't deep dive into habitat design or breeding or anything beyond just having some guys to spend time with while i'm stuck in bed) what are the daily, weekly, monthly things i'd have to make sure got taken care of? are there ways i can simplify or automate tasks while not sacrificing their care?

OR do you know of good places where people have already talked about this, or other people who love fish a lot and might wanna share their knowledge?

my partner is also suggesting a plant&snail tank instead of fish but i'm even less sure how to approach their care needs!

watching you get into fish reminded me of how much i love them (had some when i was young but was not primary caretaker). it's good to see you make creatures so happy.

there's definitely ways to make mega low maintenance tanks! what you're going for is overfiltering, understocking, and planting as much as possible. I'll go over those points. this got mega long so i'll put it under a cut.

overfiltering basically means bumping your filter up a size. if you have a 10g tank, get a 20g filter. this will reduce how often you need to maintain that filter. I'd recommend sponge filters, they're by far the cheapest option and imo easiest to maintain. you'll need the sponge and an air pump. i see a lot of mega reduced amazon sales for the tetra whisper air pump. depending on how dirty it gets you're looking at every 2-3 months taking it out into a bucket of clean tank water and squeezing out the gunk.

in that vein, you wanna get as big a tank as you can. seems counterintuitive, but the more water you have, the more stability. the less maintenance. so if you wanted a 5g for a betta, consider getting a 10g. if you want a little 10g nano school, get a 20g long. if you want a 20g community, get a 40g breeder. whatever's gonna fit in your space. my best recommendation for tank size is 20g long, it gives you sooo many options without being massive. if you're in America the cheapest way to get a tank is wait for Petco to have their quarterly tank sale. otherwise look for something on the local market.

now onto understocking. basically pick animals that aren't gonna shit that much lol, and put in less than can technically fit in the tank. the snail tank is a definite fun option, as long as you're sticking with pest snails and fewer large snails (big snails have a big bioload, even bigger than most fish). a planted 10g with a variety of big snails (a mystery, a rabbit, a nerite, etc), pest snails, and a few amano shrimp, would be fun and extremely low maintenance. you'd even have the option of trying some fancy shrimp, tho they might breed like crazy. if you want a tank with fish instead, i recommend getting a school of a tiny species like chili rasbora, ember tetras, pygmy corys, basically anything that stays little so you can get as many as possible without a big bioload. for schooling/shoaling fish, the more the merrier. absolutely do not get live bearers. no guppies, no mollies, no platys. that's the opposite of low maintenance. shit machines that will multiply forever, don't do it.

now. you know i love my bettas, favorite fish, but i'm always hesitant to recommend them. they're wonderfully personable but the caveat is that it seems more and more they run into health problems as they get commercially overbred. it's luck of the draw. you might get an easy buddy who can survive anything, or you'll get a sicky. most of the time my bettas are super low maintenance and rewarding, but when they ARE sick, it's hard. it can be daily water changes and treatment for weeks, and sometimes even that doesn't help in the end.

so with that said, my dream low maintenance tank stocking would be 20g long with 4 amano shrimp, 1 mystery snail, 1 rabbit snail, 1 nerite snail, and a school of around 15 nano fish (I'd do either chili rasbora or celestial pearl danio cuz they prettyyy). OR i'd just have a centerpiece in that big old tank, like 1 betta for the whole tank or a pair of sparkling gouramis. fish choice is definitely too much to get into for this post lol.

now third point, planting the crap out of it. this is where things can get expensive. i really do recommend investing in this step at setup, but try to cut costs by buying from local sellers, or even seeing if people are giving cuttings away. the lowest maintenance plants are ones that don't require trimming, like crypts, buce, anubias; these plants are gorgeous but they don't filter water that well. faster growing stem plants and floaters will REALLY help to filter the water, but require more maintenance via trimming and replanting stems (monthly) or removing overgrown floaters (weekly). hornwort and guppy grass are great options for something fast growing that you can just chuck in a tank, no need to plant. what I'd most highly recommend for the sake of lowering maintenance is adding some pothos cuttings coming out of the water. terrestrial plants are much better at filtering water than aquatic plants because of their direct co2 exposure, and I've had the most success with pothos! i also love a spider plant in water.

some other money specific points. for substrate, you can use rinsed play sand and/or pea gravel from a hardware store, but you would need to add nutrients if you have things planted into the substrate. you can add root tabs (api root tabs cost about 8 bucks a pack, but you need to replenish them every few months) or a small layer of aquasoil at the bottom. (aqueon has a little bag of shrimp/plant soil on amazon for i think 12 bucks). and the one thing you shouldn't go cheap on is the heater. their failure is more dangerous than other hardware because they tend to fail ON, aka they cook the water. you wanna make sure you trust it. the cheapest heater i trust are the aqueon preset submersible heaters, also frequently on sale. or you can forgo the heater and commit to only "cold" temperature livestock; the snails and amano shrimp idea would be fine w/o a heater.

labor specific points, once it's cycled (which can take weeks, during which time you'll do literally nothing to the tank) and stocked, it'll depend on how fast those plants eat up your nitrates on how often you do water changes. for me, i do 25% every two weeks on my 20g. it could probably stand to have more since mine is pretty overstocked but fish are ok to sit in slightly higher nitrates as long as they're used to it. when testing, i do recommend the api master test kit. it's more expensive than strips but way more accurate and it's lasted me longer than 2 tubes of strips. if you don't want to buy the test kit, just do water changes as often as you can. every 2 weeks if possible, then you can try pushing to 3 weeks, or even monthly.

get a water siphon to make it as easy as possible. empty water into a bucket on wheels so nobody has to carry anything. you can also look into getting a submersible pump with a long enough tube that you can empty water directly into the nearest drain, then to refill with clean water put a bucket in the sink with tap water, put the submersible pump in that bucket, and run the tube back to your tank, adding dechlorinator directly to the tank beforehand. just be careful with this method if you have small animals at risk of being caught in the siphon.

also, some people with planted tanks don't do water changes AT ALL. they just top off as water evaporates. what i do some would consider overkill, but i'm so frequent with my water changes because i have really hard water and there's this thing called old tank syndrome that can happen if you only top off, and yeah that's this other whole spiel lmao BUT not doing water changes IS possible, people have success. just not me!

so monthly tasks; rinsing sponge filter every 2-3 months. weekly tasks; depends on how often you decide to do water changes. daily tasks; feeding, frequency varies depending on livestock, but i basically feed once a day. if you're going for a self contained ecosystem low maintenance dealio, feed as little as possible. i know of people who do this and sprinkle in food weekly or less. i don't have experience with automatic feeders, but i'm wary of them lol, they could be totally fine, idk. it's better imo to just feed infrequently than risk the auto feeder dumping too much food.

to wrap it up, i'll be real with you, setting up something that's as low maintenance as possible while working with budget constraints is hard (at least in my area). this hobby is notoriously expensive, especially when you're just starting out. you need to see what the local market is like. see if there's fish hobby groups in your area that can help you with spare supplies and plant trimmings. your partner's idea of a plant/snail tank might be the best place to start! as far as other resources, the fish subreddits have soooooooooooo much info.

🩷 Why are they your favorite?

Heinrix is unironically one of my favorite companions in Rogue Trader. Because he's terrible. But he doesn't want to be. But he's also too much of a dogmatic Company Man to really understand how awful he is/can be. He's a walking HR violation anytime a Xenos is within three star systems. He's the loneliest motherfucker on this ship. I will divorce this clown in every lifetime, that is how much I love him.

First of all, his internalized everything makes him just, so crunchy. Like, he came from some of the highest nobility in the Imperium (Tech Edition) to rock bottom, to two shakes from regaining his "place" per se (Space CIA Edition). And some part of him knows that Calcazar is the only person keeping him between here, as a "somebody" and the abyss of being just another tool-psyker. And the way his journey to discovering the Truth is also the process of systemically dismantling his own sense of importance as part of Calcazar's inner circle.... Like yeah, he was the potential successor, didn't make him less of a dispensable pawn as the rest of them! So what was it all for?

And I think too how his hidden Iconoclast core shakes out is also really interesting because "Iconoclast" doesn't 1:1 mean "good person". Like he can and does show leniency in his Dogmatism with people of similar rank/protection as him (the RT, Jae) or people he can personally sympathize with (Idira, even tho it's insulting). And his romance is genuinely sweet, if bumpy. But at the same time he has a lot of anger in his heart and that gets expressed in ways that show some incredibly unnecessary cruelty to people he thinks are lesser (Vhaebos Prisoners, Yrliet, that one random guard). And he does not acknowledge that!!! Because he's a Space Racism Cop doing his job, which gives him a "get out of examining my issues free" card and Throne take him, he's gonna use it.

And on that latter bit, the other thing I really really love about Heinrix is how much a demonstrates how much the Inquisition really doesn't work as an institution? He's an acolyte of the Ordo Xenos, and his Xenos Lore is shit, which you'd think wouldn't be the case but, look at how he interacts with nominally friendly xenos like Yrliet. You go to Commorragh and he's like "idk...we gotta maybe use their politics against them" and then kicks up a holy fuss when you do that. He approves of busting Tervantias in that gate and later feeding Marazhai (your ally) to the daemon. Like okay, the Xenos are vanquished, Heinrix is the best boy. Don't worry about the multiple 5 star meals Slaanesh is eating because of it...that's not his department anyways. (Ordo Malleus Hates Him!)

He's just a special boy to me lol.

Heinrix could very much be A Guy in Dragon age. And I don't mean in the "he's like Cullen!" way, because he's not, at all, but in the sense that he would very much be a loyalist circle mage who's very invested in the Institution of the Chantry while still being tempted to break a few rules here or there (just him tho) y'know?

okay I'll bitte. I'm still very new here and only ever read anything ab wolfstar. What is the lore w jegulus? I know it's a lot to explain probably but what would be the summary of what you find most alluring and fitting about them together?

i hope you are sitting down for this because this will be long. i will put it in bullet forms so its kinda organized

first, i am a sucker for slytherin/gryffindor ships. idk if its because of drarry or just the natural rivalry that the two houses has shown in the books. i see rivalries to lovers and i go crazy

second, i love the best friend’s sibling trope. i loved it with hinny and so naturally i loved it with jegulus. idk what it is about this trope that i love it so much, i just love the familiarity of it like, i watched you grew up because your older sibling is my best friend so you’ve always been part of my life and now that im getting to know you you arent just my best friend’s sibling you are your own person and wow im in love with you its just chef’s kiss you know?

i love how opposite jegulus are, i love the popular jock vs mysterious jock, i love the loud and reckless vs the quiet and calculating , i love the hero vs the anti-hero. i love how the things that make them who they are is exactly what the other needs, they complete and compliment each other so well that they are the couple who says they are a team and they actually are because of how well the fit.

(in relation to the previous bullet) i love how thru regulus james learns to love the silence, he learns the peacefulness of just being together, of holding each other in comfortable silence and being able to exist together, he always felt the need to be the life of the party or be the energized one who is entertaining everyone but with reg he gets to just exist no demands for anything other than just his presence

and with reg he learns to james that not everything has to be buried and hidden, he learns that his feelings and emotions are not wrong and bad, they are just emotions and james has given him the space to feel that, to exist with it and not oush it down. with james reg is able to see beyond what is offered to him, outside of his parent’s expectations, outside of his own expectations for himself, he gets to be a teenager, gets to be a teenager in love, he gets to know who he wanted to be and he learns to love it, he learns that there is more to life than just surviving

james loves regulus in the way regulus has never known, james values him and his thoughts, listens and remembers, he sees past his sarcastic remarks and eye rolls, he loves him for it even, he cares not because he has to but because he wants to and regulus never had that.

regulus loves james in the way james had never expected, james grew up with so much love that he had too much of it, he doesnt complain tho, so james thought he knew what love is but regulus’ way of loving is so different that it shocked. his love for james is subtle, its a small secret smile directed at him from across the room, its a pinky reaching out to him when they pass by each other, its sending little things that james had said he likes being given to him with nonchalance, its kissing him with reverence and worship, its folding into his arms and openly admiting he felt safe and at peace, its little things makes james blush and stutter because for him love is big gestures and loud declarations he never knew love could be solemn, love could be something they kept to themselves, love that he wanted only for his eyes.

jegulus just having a love that is unexpected and real at such a young age that it becomes something they hold on for the rest of their lives (no matter how short it is lol)

homie wants and knows how to please people... not just because he's been trained for it or a clear cut service top with dark~<3 elements<3<3<3 or because he wants the feeling he gets from their approval/admiration. very typical of a narcissist lmao, but also because of the added vulnerability that he is easily manipulated/exploited by the women in his life, not realizing he's a victim or being groomed/manipulated.

even the uh... *moment* he had with stillwell, she exploits his trauma and desire for a mother so directly that he just totally loses it and profusely appologizes. he's aware of how to *please* someone if ya get me~<3 ;))))))) (by the apology given at all) but he's *not* aware that she is abusing/exploiting his trauma in this way *because he lacks empathy for himself/has never genuinely had it given without some sort of exploitive exchange*, sort of opposite of billy in this sense too. poor dumb baby~<3!

what's really extra hilarious and ironic is that stormfront is pretty much what a lady billy would be but nowhere near as good as manipulating as him

Lol I'm glad your excited. (I spent like 4 hours working on this fic last night and am very VERY pleased with how it's going. I def needed to write something new after so much focus on other wips :3) And yeaaaaaah works just gonna be busy because of the holidays and such. Schools work differently in Australia so the long 6 week break starts next week and everyone wants there cars fixed :|

And oh my goodness I am so glad for my excessive need to categorise stuff with tags because the serenity split tag has been so good rereading all the info you've shared!

So I know you've been working on the plot but this is my suggestion based on what I found on the tag.

Phil is the one that found Tommy in an alley way. The man is literally the reason Tommy builds a relationship with first before being brought home to his residents and adopted. Phil basically saw this child and said: Is anyone going to adopt him? And did.

Now at the time, Tommy was still just a child so he basically took on the responsibility to raise Tommy. And even though it was strange how mature this child was, to Phil, Tommy was still just a boy and raised him as his own. He watched how he changed and grew.

Now we skip to the present and obviously Tommy's getting all his ingredients so he's probably distancing himself which Phil picks up on. He puts it down to Tommy maturing and wanting his own space so he does his best not pry. He thinks back to how Tommy once said that he wasn't actually from this world and was on a mission- but he put that down to an over active imagination.

Basically Phil is your "trying to be a good dad and looking out for his adopted son" father figure.

It would all come to head most likely when he discovers who Tommy really is and then would learn more about his realm and stuff.

I think Phil being mortal in this would work well but if given the opportunity, he might meet Lady death through Tommy and become smitten with her. You wouldn't have to elaborate on them too much from there but could def hint at Kristin being interested in him and that suddenly Phil is seeing some mysterious woman.

That would be my take on it and I think would be best.

If you wanted another route tho, I suggest since Lady Life did guide Tommy to the mortal realm, she could of spoken to her sister Lady death that she was worried about his safety and Death literally sends her best angel (AKA Phil whos been in the mortal realms for a while doing other things -no idea what tho) to find and look after tommy. But that would alter the first idea cause then he would know about the other realms and stuff. Up to you but that's what I can think of.

Hello, my little constellations! I'm sorry for my long absence, I never intended to be away for so long! I am happy to finally give you all a new chapter though, surprise! You had tried your best to enjoy the rest of the time with your friends, watching them bicker fondly with each other and coo over their baby. They weren't the picture-perfect family, but they were real. Real love and real issues, real communication, and it was both a breath of fresh air and an ache in your chest you couldn't quite place. That alongside the frequent vibrations coming from your phone in your pocket made it hard to focus on the good parts. Not when your flaws were shining so brightly in your eyes, showing just how far behind you've fallen.

Still, you managed your goodbyes with sincere smiles, ignoring the way Izuku looked at you with a pity that curdled in your stomach. You didn't blame him for pointing out a truth you had been gleefully ignoring for months now. As you slid into the driver's seat of the car, one thought slipped from your mind and sat sour on your tongue. Were you just replacing one bad relationship with another? Your friendship with Ejirou was a balm to you, a sweetness you craved, but underneath the candy coating, was it just as bitter as your relationship? The both of you had blindly covered the bad parts, showing each other just enough of your flaws to feel vulnerable with each other while still keeping that wall up. But who was the wall protecting this time? Were your thoughts even making sense anymore?? You belatedly realized you probably shouldn't linger in the driveway for too much longer, the last thing you needed was more pitying looks and whispered worry. But before you move, you really should swallow the cowardly desire to ignore the messages still flashing on your phone.

Eijirou: You know I'm always down to talk

Eijirou: That sounded a little serious though, everything alright?

Eijirou: You're okay, right? Did something happen?

Eijirou: Honestly, I really want to head over and check on you, but…

Eijirou: Idk, that kinda feels like I'm skipping some steps, or crossing some boundaries.

Eijirou: I hope you're alright, and I'll give you some space, but just let me know you're good when you can. We can talk when you're ready.

Eijirou: Can I send Mina to you or something? I just want you to have someone on your side if you're not doing good…

Your eyes ran over the words with a deep sigh. You really should have checked while you were inside. You may be questioning some things, but that didn't mean you can just torture the poor guy… You can only imagine what he's been thinking this whole time.

You: I'm so sorry, I've been with Ochako. I'm alright, promise. There's just some things I want to clear up

You were about to put your phone down and finally leave, but your phone went off before you could even turn the car on.

Eijirou: lol I guess I was overreacting a little, huh? Glad you're safe tho!!! You want to meet somewhere?

You chewed on your lip as you thought. Maybe you were just procrastinating, wanting to protect this version of your friendship for just a little longer, but you just didn't know if you could handle that talk right now.

You: I'm a little tired… do you have any time tomorrow?

Eijirou: Yeah, no problem!! Wanna grab lunch or something?

You: Yeah, that sounds great. I'll find a place and send you the address. We can meet up there at like noon?

You were sure he noticed that you didn't give him a chance to offer to drive, but he was too polite to bring it up.

Eijirou: Sounds great! (: My treat, so find something good!

Even now, he was being too nice, especially after that scare you gave him. How did that saying go? If it seems too good to be true, it probably is? That's what this whole thing felt like. He just showed up at the best time… and now it felt like he held all your happiness in the palm of his hand. It was dangerous. How did you keep getting yourself into these kinds of messes?

You had finally gotten yourself home, tossing your keys into the dish on the counter as you headed towards the bathroom. The best medicine for this growing headache you had was a long, mindless shower. Just wash off all of the stress and worry and weird thoughts you've been having.

You stood under the water and just… existed. You let yourself be in the space and forced the tension from your limbs, standing under the spray until you felt like jelly. Your sigh almost echoed in the pristine space, but for this moment, at least the space was yours. After you felt a little less like a ball of tension and more human-adjacent, you moved onto actually cleaning yourself off. You skipped the sweet and spicy scents that usually filled the bathroom for something a bit lighter, a little minty and maybe floral, you weren't the best at placing the scents… but it was different. Something Katsuki was probably gifted from one of the many companies trying to curry favor from one of the top heroes. But you had decided to claim it. It was now yours, your scent, separate from the same sights, same smells, everything perfectly in place. Except for you… when did you stop fitting in? Did you ever in the first place?

There it was again, those thoughts. It's not like they were doing you any good, but once you started, it seemed like you couldn't stop. You should be grateful, though. Katsuki provided all of this, even the opportunity to stand out. What would you really have without him? You didn't really have anywhere else to go, all of your friends were his friends. All your clothes and food were paid for with his card. Even your car, he was listed on the title and paid for insurance and maintenance… It sat heavy in your stomach even after you forced the thoughts from your head.

You wrapped yourself in a robe, stepping from the bathroom and hoping you'd find something reasonably comfortable that didn't get caught in the crossfire of your previous fight, belatedly hearing the lock on the front door. Your curiosity got the best of you, peeking towards the entrance before you even heard him.

"Come on out, shitty girl, grab these bags!" It shouldn't have come as a surprise. He was your fiance, and this was his home. You weren't even on the title. Your feet were moving before you could even finish your thought, the traitorous things, finding him in the living room with an armful of bags. Without thinking of it, your eyes drifted to where your degree had adorned the wall, expecting to see the blank wall and being surprised with an admittedly artistic shot of Katsuki's agency, in black and white of course.

"Oi, what are you wearing? You could have at least dressed…" You could feel your eyes threatening to roll at his words, but somehow you held them back.

"Sorry, Katsuki. I thought you'd want help sooner rather than later." He quickly started passing over the bags, heavier than you expected.

"Whatever, just put these away. I figured it was time to update your wardrobe." You peeked inside the bag, full of soft greys and light oranges, and your confusion must have shown on your face. "Don't give me that look. I know what looks best on you, and it's about time you start dressing like you're my future wife." He huffed as you looked away from the bag.

"Right… thank you, Katsuki." The words felt oddly hollow. You supposed you were happy for some more clothes, although you weren't sure they were really for you… but he had obviously spent time and money, a lot of money, on getting these things for you.

"That's a better reaction. Put those away, I'll grab dinner." The way he fell back into his routine made your head spin. It was like nothing ever happened. Should you bring it up? No. No, not right now. You shouldn't ruin the tenuous calm in the house, rejecting the well-meaning peace offering he had brought home. No, you should just be happy that he's fixing his mistake. This was fixing it, right? Actions that spoke louder than words? Katsuki always had a problem with words…

You put the new clothes away in silence, feeling the cost in each thread even as you noticed the high necklines, the longer sleeves, and the lack of anything but floor-length hems on any pants or dresses. Was this how a wife looks to Katsuki? Modest to a fault and dressed in his colors? Yet you accepted it, for now. Dressed in a pair of regrettably comfortable pants and a cozy grey sweater over your undershirt. Surely this would make him happy, right?

As you stepped out of the room, you were greeted with such amazing smells. He had set up takeout on the coffee table, putting on a show the two of you had started together years ago and had yet to finish. There was even a cocktail waiting for you, and a noticeable lack of spice wafting from the food. He looked up at you as you looked away, not wanting to meet those bright red eyes. "I knew it would look good on you. Now hurry up and sit, I don't have all night."

"Thanks, this smells amazing." You gave him a smile, you think, as you sat down, cautiously taking a bite of your food as he started the show.

"Of fucking course it does, I have good taste." And with that, the two of you fell quiet, trying to ignore the heavy butterflies in your stomach and eat your food. It was so good, something you would normally eat without hesitation, but you paced yourself around the uneasy feeling, draining your drink before you even got halfway through.

Katsuki noticed, of course. You used to admire how perceptive he was. Used to? When did that change… "You better not be turning into some sort of fucking lush." He chuckled, but the sound feels miles away. He sounds like he's teasing, but it still puts you on edge as you laugh along with him, although you don't know why. He stands and takes your glass with him, returning with another drink. At least the alcohol dulls your nerves, slowly sipping away at it as the show wraps up.

"Finish up and get ready for bed. I've got an early morning, I can't have you keeping me up." He takes the trash and dishes away, leaving you nursing your drink and staring at an empty screen. There's only so long you can take here, only a few sips left and no more excuses you can make. The last few sips taste bitter.

When you finally finish, rinsing your glass once and then again, the odd feeling returns tenfold. If you had been sober, you might have wondered if this was what it felt like being led to execution, the way you walk without any emotion down the hall. It's pure muscle memory the way you strip off the clothes hiding your figure, the way you let Katuski lead you to bed and pose you face down, hand heavy on the back of your neck. And when he finally finds his end behind you, falling into bed and then quickly into sleep, you wonder how long you had been holding your breath. Even then, when you could breathe, the air was heavy and humid, filled with him.

It was naive to think you had made a space for yourself here. He existed, even in the air.

I have a lot of feelings about the Titan sub extravaganza and since tumblr is just shouting into a vaccume I think I'll share them below the cut if anyone wants to read lol.

1st: I knew they were dead the moment they said they were missing. Like Cameron said in interviews there's literally no way for them to completely lose contact without having no power AT ALL, and if you have no power in situations like that, your craft is gone and you're dead. It was genuinely the best thing that could have happened to them, coming up too fast as they were trying to do also probably would have killed them but in a much more horrible way, and granted you can survive bad cases of the bends (sometimes) but if you don't it's a really really horrible way to go. But also so is suffocating and hypothermia which was the case if they'd been stuck in there for days as the rescue team led you to believe is also a really horrible way to go. If I had to die catastrophically, honestly that's how I'd want to do it, you can't even feel pain or understand it.

2nd: I think it is sad, because I don't think people "deserve" to die, (particularly the 19 yo who most likely didn't want to be there/claimed he didn't want to be there) and they were probably afraid in their last moments because they heard the hull creaking and that's sad, but I also think it's ironic because you are taking a TOURISM trip to an EXTREMELY deep part of the ocean that is home to a MASS GRAVE. And they paid 250k to do it and weren't smart enough to check whether or not the sub they were in was a death trap (idk about you but I personally would be checking that 10 times over. I'm going into a highly highly pressurized space with no logical safety precautions? I'll pass). So they maybe kinda got what was coming to them, and eat the rich and all that, maybe don't voyer a mass grave.

3rd: I think the depth of the Titanic is the universes way of deterring people from going there, like we have museums that practically put you on the ship and give activities that simulate the sinking, you don't need to see the real thing. 100s of people died there tragically and suffered, let them rest. There is no good reason why civilians should be visiting the Titanic, not a single one, regardless of how much money you have.

4th: I was waiting 3 days for Cameron to comment on it, and I'm glad he did cause honestly I trust his expertise in this area maybe more than a single other person on the planet, and it's not cause I'm his fan, he's genuinely the most educated individual. I've had a passion/interest in ocean exploration since I was 11 so while I'm no expert, I do know that you can't make a sub out of carbon fiber and not die. I've also have been a fan of Cameron's exploration work in the challenger deep for over a decade by extension. I think it's funny that all these people didn't know that he was a director as his side hustle, because even tho I've been a fan of avatar since it came out (I was 9 at the time and didn't connect that it was him till I was like 16?), I always first and foremost knew him as the deepest human dive record holder for the Marianas trench. I'm glad to see the world is starting to share some of my respect for him as an academic 😂. Anyway, I'll always be kinda a Cameron fan probably more than most other white men, just cause clumbsy white man behavior aside he's a genuinely smart and well meaning individual, more than can be said for a lot of other multimillionaire directors...

5th: the media coverage of this was completely unnecessary and the rescue attempts were also unnecessary since everyone in the field knew they were dead, anyone with an engineering degree knew they were dead, anyone with common sense and the ability to do good research knew they were dead. The rescue was all for show and a waste of resources. I think it's horrrific what happened off the cost of Greece and I think the media SHOULD have covered that instead but I don't like hearing the comparison of "we should have sent our resources there" as there's a fairly large logistical difference between a submersible with a 3 day expiration date and a boat with a 30 minute one. That doesn't mean that there shouldn't have been more support/recovery efforts made for the immigrants, there SHOULD HAVE but it's not comparable in anything except media response and that it's in/on the ocean. I also think it's okay to care about both and the response to 5 billionaires dying at see can be joked about and made light of and sometimes that's good for the human condition, the death of people fleeing death and then tragically dying, cannot but it doesn't mean people don't/won't care, it just means they're not loud about it.

6th: and finally, I do think the Logitech controller is funny, and more seriously I think everyone's responses to this are valid, those people that are laughing at them, people who are upset, it's a hard thing to grapple with, at least it is for me

hiiiii, i'm fairly new to CR (it saved my life during the pandemic!!1) and i'm pretty much caught up with everything but my love for vaxleth is off the charts and it's both a blessing and a curse: i love everything about them but there's fewer fics about them than i thought they ought to have. i have gone through ao3 these past few months and read a lot and also saved some for later (including yours!! i want to save it for a cozy day where i need a pick me up). having said all of that i was wondering if you have any recs (preferably of the longer type but ok if not) not just in ao3 but anywhere else as well? and preferably happy endings and some smooching n stuff bc wooooooof. these two got so much angst (i do also love it tho). any smut rec is welcome as well!! AND!!! ALSO!! do you think there's any chance this last ep can reignite the flame so to speak so we can all get more and more fics bc honestly?? i'm obssessed and they deserve it. epic love needs eternal retelling.

well hello! first i wanna say welcome to the fandom, we're all pretty nice but completely feral so watch where you put your hands bc we like to gnaw on things. (i say this like i am not also very new to the fandom; i just looked it up earlier today and my 1-year anniversary is at the end of may.)

when it comes to fic recs, i actually have to admit that i don't read a ton of fics myself (i don't have time, lol). i'll start by saying reading @romeoandjulietyouwish's au posts and drabbles is what got me back into writing fanfiction for the first time since i was a teenager, so i definitely recommend checking her stuff out. @blorbologist is, in my humble opinion, the foremost perc'ahlia expert of the fandom, if that ship also floats your boat. i have started reading her extremely famous one for joy but as i said, i really do not have a lot of time to read these days so i am extremely behind. my friend @ravendruid has recently started dipping her toes into the fic-writing realm, and i've been really loving watching her style develop as she goes, and my irl best friend and platonic life partner @runforyourshield is writing a vaxleth summer camp au called camp cloudtop you should check out! other recs you can find on my blog under the tag #fic rec. also just generally we tend to rb each other a lot so just stalk all of those blogs and you'll find some good stuff.

on ao3, i actually just today read a little three-part vaxleth happy ending style fic called with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair that i really enjoyed, and i've started reading this incredible fic called Heaven Couldn't Shake that AGAIN i started reading and then stopped having time for (!!!!!!!!!!!! i am busy!!!!!!! i am sorry!!!!!) but it is really good and i highly recommend the one chapter that i have read lol.

as for smut, to be perfectly honest, there is a dearth of smut in the vaxleth fandom, and like, i get it, it is extremely common to headcanon keyleth as ace or demisexual, and i don't have a problem with that headcanon at all. but me personally, while i also hc her as demi, i absolutely believe she and vax have fucking incredible sex and i wish i could read more of it (*eyebrow waggle* keep your eyes on the mfl space for future one-shots, jussayin). my recommendation there is to go the keyleth/vax tag on ao3 and filter by E, tbh. (also, don't sleep on vaxlethmore, bc those fics are *chef's kiss*)

(also this isn't vaxleth and idk if you've seen c2 or not but truly one of the hottest fucking fics i have read in my life—and friendo i have read a lot—is this shadowgast fic that truly gave me a nicotine addiction, bc wow)

will c3e51 reignite the fandom's fire for vaxleth? i mean, i can hope so, tho tbh, i'm keeping my hopes low. i know that, generally speaking, more people care for perc'ahlia than vaxleth (which was truly the wildest thing for me to find out when i started interacting w the fandom at large, i assumed everyone would be as fucking feral for vaxleth as i was), so i don't imagine there's gonna be a ton of new people writing them, but hey, maybe the episode will spur some people who haven't watched c1 to go watch, and they'll be the new generation of vaxleth shippers (again, me talking like i'm not the new generation of vaxleth shippers).

1. Canon I outright reject? he would NEVER leave natsume not EVER. i know tsubasa had to basically drag him out of there but i hate that he left i HATE it

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on? i don't think he would ever date mikan after natsume's hypothetical death. i don't think either of them would be able to.

3. Obscure headcanon? his favorite disney movie is fox and the hound.

4. Favorite line? "Meeting you, and coming with you here to the Academy... I never even once regretted it." (chapter 146)

5. Best personality trait? his loyalty. he's very sweet and i love that, but his loyalty is what moves mountains, what fights wars, what transcends the rules of time and space.

Age/height/weight headcanon? i don't need a headcanon when i have character profiles! 140 cm/4'6 and 35 kg/77 lbs at his debut, 173 cm/5'8 and 66 kg/145 lbs in the last chapter. also i believe he's the youngest of the main four? he turns 11 in march, after natsume, mikan, and hotaru have all had their 11th birthdays.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? i've already said i only like his relationship with mikan platonically, so i'll say something else.

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? "bird meets tori!" where we see him using his alice with piyo. though it's been so long since i first met him that i really can't remember ever NOT loving him.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? my favorite ruka moment is when he's waiting for natsume in the backseat of the car to go to the academy with him. makes me cry every single time.

12. Crack headcanon? i like thinking of him growing little flowers on his windowsill in his dorm and that he very much likes baking... again "crack" i use loosely.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? this...?? maybe? i dont think he does many dumb things...

14. Most heroic moment? i just think there's so much strength in ruka's actions in the new year's arc, even if he feels like such a burden the whole time. though i also think this one is very brave.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done? very tough to say because he's a well-meaning child! i don't like to be negative abt the kids. that being said, this might be natsume AND ruka's worst moment lol. ruka was complicit in that.

37. What they really think about themselves? he thinks of himself as a burden, obstacle, impediment, that he holds the one person he loves most back when all he wants is to help. as a result, he withdraws and hides himself away bc he doesn't think he's capable of contributing much anyway.

38. Favorite holiday? maybe easter? i'm not familiar with japanese holidays so i cant say for sure but the easter aesthetic suits him.

Favorite book? i have a predominantly western understanding of literature because i have a degree in english literature, so forgive me. i think he'd like romantic poets, like whitman, wordsworth, byron, and dickinson. he'd like romanticism for it's emphasis on the natural world and on emotion and justice. i think he'd like classic children's books too, like peter pan or alice in wonderland.

41. If they could have lunch with anyone in the world (living or dead, from any fictional universe or the real world), who would it be? he'd wanna eat lunch with his parents because he misses them <3

42. 3 comfort items? i had a long and nice answer for this but tumblr ate it (which pisses me off so much u have no idea) so i dont remember what i'd said. the earbud transmitters hotaru left him, but i cant remember the other two. ill reblog again if i remember.

43. 3 favorite foods and 3 they despise? i think ruka would like bread and pastries, lots of desserts. i dont have much of an inkling what he wouldn't like except that i believe he's a vegetarian so he wouldn't eat meat. i just dont understand how he could have such connection and empathy for animals, genuinely love them as friends, and have the animal pheromone alice on top of that, and eat them. i dont think he'd judge anybody for eating meat, but he wouldn't be able to himself.

46. The person they most admire? natsume, mikan, and his mom. people whose strength he admires and maybe covets.

47. Their dream job? he wants to be a vet!!!!

Scariest moment of their life? poor ruka has gone through a lot of scary moments but i think he's managed to be brave each time anyway, which is very admirable. i keep saying natsume for all his answers, but i think natsume's death would be the scariest moment because he genuinely couldn't do anything to stop it. i think not only was it the moment he lost his best friend, but also a moment that made him feel like he really couldn't be of any help or support to natsume after all, that he really was a burden.

49. Favorite toy as a child? rich boy ruu-chan had a lot of toys and while i'm tempted to think he'd like stuffed animals, at the end of the day i think he'd be way more interested in playing with real animals. i think they made him feel accepted and understood and less alone.

50. A memory they’ve blocked out? i think the memories of the time between natsume dying and coming back would be a bit blurry. he wouldnt have been holding on tight to that period of time, to put it lightly.

1. Canon I outright reject? I will never accept him dying young. sorry higuchi but i just cant listen to you.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on? natsume LOVES chocolate and sweets. why do so many people insist on him hating sweets just because he's "cool" i dont get it???

3. Obscure headcanon? he listens to rap and rap rock. im sorry i just. cant imagine he wouldn't love rap. whatever.

Favorite line? i love when one of the kids asks him to tutor him when the whole class is in study mode, saying, "i thought if i went in with a 'do or die' attitude then maybe..." and natsume replies, "then die." (i know it's hard to see but it's at the bottom, where ruka's face is.) ALSO on a more serious note, "can you wait for me?" because it KILLS me.

5. Best personality trait? how sweet he can be!!!! no but seriously natsume acts cool but he's the most hopeless romantic of the bunch and i live by that.

6. Worst personality trait? martyr complex.

7. Age/height/weight headcanon? who needs headcanon when we have canon!! natsume is ten (a couple months away from eleven) when he's introduced and the second youngest (only older than ruka) in the main four (the boys being younger than the girls is so cute). he's sixteen at the epilogue and in kageki <3. he's 140 cm/4'6 and 34.5 kg/76 lbs when we meet him, and 175 cm/5'9 and 72 kg/159 lbs at the epilogue.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? i think the popular opinion is that natsume is a baby boy who deserves peace and love after a childhood of rage and agony but if you disagree, i'll throw u off a cliff myself.

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? im gonna be real with u. he was my fav from the start. i never ever had negative feelings towards him ever from the beginning. is that weird? idk. i dont really care. i saw him with his mask and was determined to watch the whole anime just bc he was in it.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? it's really hard for me to answer this but i think my favorite natsume moment is when he finally rebels against the ESP and persona... something he'd always wanted to do but couldn't, finally given the chance through the knowledge that he'd rather be dead than allow mikan to live through the same suffering that he does.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? getting mikan to play the prince. he's so fucking stupid.

14. Most heroic moment? he wishes it was his death scene! i think his most heroic moment was when he decided to go to the academy for his sister. i pick this scene and not any others bc when natsume risks his life later on, part of it is motivated by suicidal ideation so it's kinda hard for me to think of those moments as anything but.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done? same answer as ruka's. yes i say this even knowing that he might have killed people during DA missions. those other ppl arent real to me; mikan is.

17. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them? again, zoe and i made a killer playlist for the main 4 ga characters. natsume's is the best though, we both agree. since, again, the playlist is still under construction, here are some tracks from it that suit him. (lots of them are triggering, particularly regarding thoughts of suicide, just as a warning.)

18. What they’d go to see a therapist about? everything? trauma, self-image, martyr complex, suicidal ideation, dealing with terminal illness... there's a lot.

19. Vices/bad habits? he has a lot! the worst is his overuse of his alice.

20. Scars? i'm sure he has some. DA missions are not safe and although natsume is canonically immune to his own fire, he's not immune to flying shrapnel and rubble. i like the anime showing us some glimpses into what his missions might look like. we even got to see him get shot, an injury he (presumably) patched up himself instead of going to the hospital for, which is VERY in character. the anime NAILED that episode (chef's kiss, best episode ever, hands down).

21. Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)? cherry dr pepper (this is just a ridiculous joke zoe and i made that is now serious. what a sickening beverage)

22. Best physical feature? his eyes! so pretty. i also love his silky hair. he is SO pretty and has sUCH pretty eyelashes. most beautiful boy ever.

49. Favorite toy as a child? i think he'd probably be a big fan of matchbox cars? or maybe im saying that bc i liked matchbox cars. (and also cuz theyre called matchbox cars). he seems to like basketball too!

A memory they’ve blocked out? natsume is a big ball of trauma so i wouldnt be surprised if there was plenty. i think he's kind of forced to compartmentalize a lot, since his experiences in the DA class are so gruesome and different from his school life, so he'd be forced to pretend like he didn't just go on a terrifying mission last night, which leads to unprocessed trauma and maybe even blurred memories.

1. Canon I outright reject? if higuchi tachibana doubting that "natsume won" is canon, then i reject it. mikan MADE A CHOICE. in your manga, higuchi!!!! she even says, "these feelings i have only for you", which means the only person she loves romantically is natsume. higuchi YOU WROTE THIS.

3. Obscure headcanon? even though natsume can have a potentially atrocious taste in fashion, i think mikan would find his fits cute nonetheless, maybe just bc it's him!

I love when she tells natsume to join her team before the sports fest. she NEVER asks for anything from natsume or tells him how she feels but she takes a risk this once and it's wonderful until he rejects her and she takes a long while to recover from that moment where she finally put herself out there only to get turned down.

8. Unpopular opinion about them? it's okay that she's stupid! i dislike when mikan is made so much smarter, or when they significantly alter her personality, in fics. i think she's pretty great the way she is!

9. Scene that first made me love (or hate) the character? HARD TO SAY. regrettably i wasn't always a huge fan of mikan, especially in the anime, bc i thought she was annoying. but i think when i matured just a little, it was hard to keep it up. i think i fully loved her on the second rewatch/reread. i couldnt tell u the specific scene bc it was too long ago.

10. Best moment on screen (or in the book)? i reread just this little moment so often. i'm not saying it's a healthy moment, hiding her feelings until she's alone, but it's so her and it's so heart-crushing and tragic. i love it.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done? she's frequently stupid, but i really enjoy this moment, just bc of how naive she is, both to natsume's situation and to her own feelings. (mikan, girl, you're in love with him.)

14. Most heroic moment? is there anything more heroic than this?

Worst thing they’ve ever done? mikan rarely does things out of ill-will. i could say one of her well-intentioned blunders, but that feels cheap. i'll say this, then, when mikan tells natsume that him worrying about her is a bother. i'll talk about it during my essay, but mikan says that, against her urges to keep him with her, because she remembers the pain of him choosing luna over her and she, in that moment, reacts in a kneejerk way to make him hurt a little too. it's the only moment i can think of where she hurts somebody without at least meaning well. (and YES i know that this is right after luna told her to keep their encounter a secret, but mikan chooses to be cold to natsume in a way that she isnt towards hotaru or her other friends for asking similar questions.)

16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves? mikan never admits anything to herself! that she loves natsume sticks out the most though.

44. Their happiest memory? i think her school memories with her friends, particularly lighthearted moments, would stick out as happiest. the culture fest or the dodgeball game or swimming class.

46. The person they most admire? hotaru, natsume, ruka, etc. she admires lots of people. she has a tendency to see the good parts of people and to focus on them until that's the main thing she sees.

47. Their dream job? i like to see mikan in people-oriented, caring-based roles, like as a nurse or a teacher, where there's emphasis on helping people. i think she'd really thrive in a career like that. i especially like imagining her as a teacher. (her husband can share some pretty decent benefits from such a career afaik)

48. Scariest moment of their life? probably the whole night of the escape arc. no part of that was easy. the entire night was stressful and scary

49. Favorite toy as a child? she makes her own mikan dolls! mikan is awful at homemade things, like cooking or sewing, but she loves it anyway! i think she liked making her own toys and seeing the beauty in her ugly little creations.

50. A memory they’ve blocked out? i think mikan would try and remember the hard moments so that she can get stronger, just based on the way she talks about such moments, like after pengy dies.

Headcanon time I guess(TMNT 2012)

BECAUSE I'M TERRIBLY MISSING TMNT BUT I'M BURNT OUT OF WATCHING NETFLIX HEADCANONS FOR TMNT 2012

If any of these end of very very very canon you can blame netflix for not having 4/5 seasons so I don't know everything oopsie :3

I'll start with my favorite character since obviously I'm gonna have alot to say about him :)

Oh girlie this is gonna be long(I TYPE ALOT LOL)

Michelangelo, Mikey, The best boy!! :3 sunshine boy idk

He's very very VERY fond of bugs, He picks them up and smiles at them :) and sometimes eats but only when his brothers aren't around because they 100% yell at him everytime they see him eat the bugs because B U G S!! Listen what else are they gonna eat that technically has meat? There's not gonna be any chicken in the sewers... maybe... who knows... chickens are weird like that <3

AS SOON!!! As they got internet and stuff in the lair he learned EVERY SINGLE CUSS WORD ✨✨✨ He also learns very quickly how and when to use them etc etc because he finds them so funny, Also He ONLY uses them with villains and only when his brothers/family/friends aren't around!! He comes up with the weirdest crazy fuckin Insults and thinks they are SO funny <3 lol (... Projection maybe :3 )

He's PanRomanic Asexual, because He deserves to be alittle(ALOT) Fruity 💖 (Kinda projection but not really, I'm Pansexual so sorta close LOL)

Tends to learn how to use weapons REALLY fast, He finds it really fun and interesting to learn how to use his brothers weapons!!! :D

Reads ao3 fanfics, Doesn't write any but found out Leo writes them and loves reading his, Mikey's just so glad his Oldest Brother has something fun he likes to do that isn't really serious!!! :D

Doesn't like Horror Movies(To much gore for him normally) but fucking loves Psychological Horror. I was about the say he liked The Magnus archives, but it didn't start until 2016 lol. So Umm :3 He likes reading horror stories alot. (This is projection probably but hey, I think he would hehehe)

Forgets his own birthday almost every single year(Oops going angsty now beware >:3 ) He doesn't see his birthday as important as his brothers or even his fathers so his brain just forgets about it, He always remembers his brothers tho(this is paired with the headcanon that they choose different days in the same month so that they didn't have to have 4 different birthdays on the same day lol)

April gave them a notebook and Mikey sketches in it, he runs out of space and starts to draw in between every other drawing because he doesn't want to ask for another one... :')

HE PUTS STICKERS ON THAT NOTEBOOK!!!! they're not very good stickers but like, He's collected them for years, every time he found one that wasn't destroyed then he takes it >:3 His brothers know about his little stickers and leave any stickers they find in his room <3 :'D

believes in luckiness/unluckiness and that sorta, luck theory(I might be the only person who's thought of this So I'll explain it oops) Basically Mikey believes that if Something good happens to him the same amount of bad will also happen later on, and vise versa :3 He doesn't let it bother him but it's always in the back of his mind.

The last thing also plays a part in this one. Mikey doesn't like when something REALLY good happens to him. He 100% believes that something REALLY bad will happen to him sometime after, Normally it does tho so he's kinda valid for it :')

Loves Animals, All kinds, He doesn't technically have a favorite(Until ICK comes into his life and it becomes cats) He loves cows and dogs and bunnies(PROJECTION LOL) and fish and Frogs and birds and dinosaurs and erhjdkjgbhdfkjbndfkjnjdfns ALL OF THEM, He doesn't really have a least favorite tho :)

He finds soda really weird, He likes diet soda tho, for some Weird reason, If he were to ever go to a fast food place he'd do that thing where to put some of every drink choice in one cup >:) (That's projection kinda, I used to do that so much omg, not anymore tho sadge)

Likes legos and stuff like it :D he likes building things that have instructions, He likes looking at the finished product and smiling and holding it and just OvO

LOVES COLORS!!! His favorite color isn't orange surprisingly tho, Instead it's the colors of the sky(in the day and night!!)

Likes sunsets/sunrises alot

He likes sitting on building roofs and just looks at the sky... It's when he cries the most LOL

DEPRESSION ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (PROJECTION TO THE MAX) His room is messy and he can never get to cleaning it and it makes him sad and like, numb sorta lol

Gets Auditory hallucinations every now and again. They spook him alot since they're normally of stuff breaking loudly

Can't stop moving ever and it's very endearing to me!!! Stims constantly when happy and it's really endearing to his brothers because that's how they now he's actually really happy to be there and hang out with them, He just loves them so much(in a sibling way of course, I swear it anyone thinks differently I will hit them with a chainsaw and eat their flesh!!!!) aka they also know when he's not happy because of it aswell tho.

He bites people when he wants to >:)

He is such a mother hen(Honestly that's canon oops) He has the second most Medical knowledge and uses it all the time (The first is Donnie)

his names Desmond O. Arkady and he’s the main protag of SE and is…tbh the only normal person out of the entire cast. he’s just a normal superpower-less kid who gets involved in world altering events on accident becuz everyone else is mean to him and likes using him cuz he craves validation and can’t say no :( unfortunately for all the ppl who like pushing him around, he’s got extremely serious, repressed anger issues (due to his dad's emotional/verbal abuse and his mom abandoning the family) and is eventually pushed beyond his breaking point which at some point involves making a nuclear bomb so. good work guys-

he’s also super fucking smart and loves everything to do with science even tho he isn’t too good at math. he excels at biology and chemistry and likes to take home dead animals to cut open and look at. he also practices necromancy- he’s a distinguished little victor frankenstein just. one who doesn’t steal dead bodies v-v he particularly likes reviving dead cats (one of which becomes a supporting character at a later point) but other than natural sciences he's pretty adept at taking things apart and putting them back together. he can look at a radio and know exactly how it works and what the components are that make it function. he also loves fun facts and will randomly drop them on people, especially morbid ones that he finds 'funny and interesting' but isnt to others :( so while he's pretty intelligent he doesnt do well socially which resulted in him being bullied VERY badly when he was younger but he tries to take everything in stride....even tho he almost drowned once becuz of it and one other time almost beat someone unconscious during one of his 'rage blackouts' (he definitely fucking cried for like 3 days straight after that even tho he doesnt rmm)

while relatively normal he’s related to like, arguably the most powerful person in the world which is something he’s super unaware of. he’s the heir to a shit ton of scientific endeavors and intended future owner of ALL ANDROIDS. but again he’s unaware of this so when “certain things” tend to happen to him or around him he just tends to brush it off and doesn’t think it concerns him. the person who he’s related to, Lupe, is struggling to get into contact with him cuz 10 years ago she astral projected so hard she caused her subconscious (i’m not explaining) to time travel so. she’s just been in a coma for a long while annnnd she very much might never wake up again so OH WELL looks like her TRILLION DOLLAR FORTUNE is just in fucking limbo for now >:/

hmm what else..very much a people pleaser, he's got this really weird inclination to freak the fuck out if he thinks people don't like him- he also ignores a lot of his feelings?? like if he feels anything intense other than happiness he's prone to crying fits and throwing up which his bodyguard francis thinks is INSANE and STUPID. despite ppl treating him like shit he's genuinely a very hopeful person and loves the world and everything that takes up space in it. like he tries to and does see the good in everything and while the events of the story kinda wear down on him he ultimately doesn't think humanity or Martiankind deserves pain and/or suffering; he persistently keeps a strong sense of justice/morality and thinks that anyone or anything is ultimately capable of good.

hrrrrm thats all i can seem to say off the top of my head for now...anyway yeah he's literally the best :3 like out of the entire cast of SE he's definitely the guy the root for imo v-v

Why are you making me think about Trills in French again... (joking, love you. Honestly, now I'm wondering what they're called in the notoriously terrible French dub???)

Hopes for Prodigy season 2: very good question! I don't have any specific idea in mind! I was already thrilled to hear that Harry is likely back, and by what I've seen in season 1 I trust this production to Get Him as much as they Got Janeway. My number one hope is that they brought back B'Elanna as well, but that's perhaps too much wishful thinking... So my second hope is that they will tackle Janeway's drive to bring Chakotay back as something that could get in between her and the kids, and this time without the 'self-sacrifice' way out that holo-Janeway already used. As for the kids themselves, I really would love for them to be able to voice a little... skepticism towards Starfleet, since they were shut out of it at the end of last season, and maybe question if it's truly where they want to end up.

B'Elanna romances Zevran in Dragon Age: Origins, Anders in DA2 (girl... she would tho), and Sera in DA:Inquisition. Fight me on this (don't actually fight me on this lol)

THE PERFECT EZRI AND LENARA MEETING SCENARIO... well I've had so many ideas about this over the years it's kind of hard to narrow it down to just one I'd consider ideal... I certainly want them to be (a) completely unprepared for a such a meeting and (b) still being kind of regretful but also angry at how it all went down the last time so (c) they get snippy with each other about it until they (d) do the one thing they still haven't done (have nasty reassociation sex) and (e) realize it's best if they don't actually pursue this and now maybe they got it out of their systems a little more and they can part amicably? So the ideal scenario is them meeting by accident but also being forced to be in the same space for a time, and the best thing I could come up with for such a thing is Ezri, as a Starfleet officer, having to investigate an accident that took place at an outpost where Lenara was doing some kind of experiment on wormhole physics with her team. This is one of the many WIPs I'll never get to finish, RIP

SPECIALSTUCK POSTING (Part 1, the kids)

Hi I like classpecting characters so....why not classpect the Pokespe characters ! I've only read RGB-BW and also SM/USUM so they'll be the only ones I'll be classpecting, tho I haven't reread in awhile so...my commentary may just be from what little I remember (specifically with SM because I've only ever read that once). Also I'm doing this like an sburb session, so one class/aspect per character (with the RGBY characters being the kids and everything beyond that being trolls)

Red:

Tbh at first I was thinking he was a stereotypical Knight, but rereading he does not have the stereotypical insecurities that are commonplace with the knight class...so my second choices were heir (protagonist class LMAO, but also I wanted one of each gender +derse/prospit pair to be active/passive and I know for a fact that Yellow isn't an active class so...no...) then the other one I thot of was Witch, which fits him well, being the active counterpart to heirs so being somewhat similar.

A lot of people theorize that witches almost "break" their aspect when they become it, but I don't really buy into that? I moreso think they have to become one with their aspect, learning about it before they can use it like a highly weaponized glove (just like how Jade is so infatuated with science and creation, she needs to become one with it before weilding it). I think this does fit Red a lot in some ways, he starts the story completely overconfident in his abilities, and has to learn to accept his aspect.

For aspect, I was originally thinking space because.....Poli........frog.....yeah...but also I think Green is like a stereotypical time player, and I wanted one of each gender and I think Yellow fits space a bit better anyway (I know most people say life player, but the meta side of Life doesn't fit Yellow whatsoever LMAO) so I'm going to go with blood for him. A witch of blood is someone who completely becomes one with blood, and I think that fits Red to a T. He wants to help Green and befriend him, he wants to talk to other people and get to know them, he's also very protective and leaderly (tho more like a breath player, he doesn't want to be a leader, but I do not see him as a breath player).

SO conclustion: Witch of Blood (Prospit)

As for prospit, I don't think I need to explain why Red/Yellow are the prospitians and Green/Blue are the Dersites LoL

Green (M):

The seer to end all seers, he's a know it all who always has a plan, thinks he knows better than everyone and always has a strategy tucked away, and he fits time just as well I would say. It's kind of hard to say, due to the lack of a LOT of times key themes in Pokespe, but (since this is Sburb typing) there needed to be a time player, and I think Green fits that best. He's shown to not really care about the ending of pokemon (shown when he straight up kills that Arbok LMAO) and also he's just. A time sensitive person, this is completely head canon but it makes sense to me LoL

Time as an aspect can mean a lot of different things, usually I say it means physical concepts (death, time itself) though I don't really know if that fits the best but. I literally cannot think of a better way to describe time tbh, mainly because of how little is talked about in Homestuck itself and how most of it has to do with how it works in game and not how it manifests in characters.

Conclusion: Seer of Time (Derse)

Blue (F):

She's a thief, I don't think I need to explain. And she's DEFINITELY a heart player, she's so good at messing with peoples emotions and love, often pretending to be in love with them to get what she wants. This is just...kind of a no brainer to me LMAO

Heart players can be about a lot of things, usually identity (others or their own) but in this case Blue is about both. She hates how she doesn't have an identity due to being stolen as a child by team rocket, she hides her identity out of fear but often steals others loves and uses their identity in place of her own (eg acting like a tough thief who can't be hurt but actually being incredibly vulnerable)

Conclusion: Thief of Heart (Derse)

Yellow (I'll be using she/they for Yellow in this post btw):

A lot of people consider her a life player, which I definitely see somewhat do to her powers, but for the most part she seems to fit space more imo. She's a creative type, she's always drawing and has an interest in biology (specifically Pokemon).

As I said before, I believe time is about physical things, while space is about the metaphysical, eg creation, theoretical sciences, etc. As before, I don't think this is exactly the BEST fit, but it works for the most part. This fits Yellow a lot I think, with most of her pokemong "battling" having to do with not actually physically HURTING the pokemon, but instead finding other ways to get them to stop the attack.

Also they're definitely a sylph since.....healer....I would say heir is a possibility, but sylph of space just makes more sense imo

Conclusion: Sylph of Space (Prospit)
