There's Mud in Your Eye (Leona and Deuce x Yuu)

"Oh can I help you? You seem to be lost." You attempt to cheerfully ask the vaguely familiar looking person in front of you. As if he is deliberately trying to rub salt in your wounds, Crowley ignored your request to leave campus for NRC parents day and is instead making you and Grim run errands. The person in front of you, blissfully ignorant to your inner turmoil perks up at your attention.

"Forgive me for asking, but are you the magicless prefect?" You and Grim exchange a confused glance. "You've got to be right?" They're practically glowing with how happy they are to see you. " Oh I'm sorry, I've just heard so much about you!" Wait, what?

Leona

A very confused, very important looking little lion is standing in front of you, attempting to mimic Leona's judgey thinking face. Five year olds lack the smarmy bitterness required to truly pull off the look, but you have to admit, it is pretty cute.

"Um, do you think he ran away from his guards again?" Grim whispers, painfully loud and without nearly enough concern. "Do you think we'll get in trouble if we can't get him back to his retainers?" The scenario feels completely unreal, but then again so does standing in front of royalty. Who are you again anyway? Just some weirdo who is going to have to apologize to their loved ones for taking so long to come home because you couldn't sneeze in another world without bumping into royalty. While you are busy considering whether or not it would be considered child neglect to sprint away from the little guy, Cheka finally finishes his thought process, letting out a contented "hmmm" as he points decisively at you.

"You," he says with all the authority of an extra on a children's tv show "are not Unca."

Well.

That was not what you were expecting. Your mind draws a lengthy blank as Cheka grins up at you in a surprisingly catlike manner seemingly very pleased with himself.

"How did it take ya so long to figure that out?" It has to be a truly stupid question to get Grim's voice to crack.

"Well I decided I was gonna sneak up on Unca." A terrible idea really but who are you to refute royalty. "So instead of running around and askin I decided to just focus on his scent! But I found two places he could be so I just decided to go to the closer one."

"Whatdya mean?" Grim takes a deep breath and interrupts his train of thought with a hard gag you really hope is dramatic. "Oh wow he ain't wrong, you really smell like that lazy bi-" You manage to muzzle him before he can teach Checka too many bad words. You wonder if it would be rude to sniff yourself in front of a literal prince, Cheka's pleased little tail swish doesn't help.

"Can you please take me to Unca?" he asks, so very sweetly looking up at you like you're the shiniest star in the night sky. It hurts to disappoint him.

"Uh I'd love to little guy but I'm not too sure where he is..." you really hope Cheka can't tell just how nervous you are. Crowley did give you a schedule, but it wasn't super detailed, just a vague set of notes about the various events going on.

"Then I'll just stay here with you!" He says, with a surprising degree of authority. "Unca's scent is really strong so I'm sure he'll show up soon!"

''I don't think that's a good idea little guy." You just called the Crown Prince of the Sunset Savannah a little guy. Which he is but you are pretty sure there's a time period where that would have gotten you executed, and you can only pray it's not now. The intense look of what you assume are Cheka's guards running up the main street is not helping with that.

"Your highness! Please don't run off like that." The man seems wary of scolding the prince, but he has no qualms about staring you down. "You! What is your name and who do you think you are to be speaking so casually to-" He cuts himself off, bluster fading as he takes a deep breath and starts staggering away from you. Well not you per se, you realize as you turn around and see an extremely intense looking Leona behind you.

"Stop blamin' your inability to do your job on other people." Leona's voice is slow, authoritative enough that you almost forget he's supposed to be the second prince. The guards do too, until Cheka jumps away from them onto Leona's shoulders and shatters the illusion just a bit.

"Unca! Unca! You're gonna show me the spelldive fields right?" Cheka nuzzles his Uncle's cheek while Leona tries his best to get away.

"I thought you were gonna stay with Prefect." He grumbles.

"We can come with." You say before you fully realize what you're saying surprised at how ok you are with the offer. Cheka lights up, jumping away from his Uncle to nuzzle up to you. Leona's gaze softens ever so slightly, even if he immediately breaks eye contact and starts walking away from you.

"You're welcome to come if you can keep up." You try to convince yourself you follow him just to get away from the guards, but there's a spring in both your steps no one is brave enough to act like they notice.

Deuce

"Yuu! And Grim too! Lucky me I thought I was going to be stuck looking for my kids for at least another hour." Dilla Spade cheerfully says, her decision to refer to you as her child momentarily distracting you from the fact Deuce is nowhere to be seen. She seems to have been granted a day off from work, her usual delivery uniform ditched in favor of a very mom like set of old sweatpants and an old athletic jacket with a logo you assumed belonged to Deuce's middle school.

"Mama Spade!" Strange feelings aside you are extremely happy to see Dilla, and happier still when she perks up just a bit at your calling her mom. "Did Deuce forget to text you again?"

"Not exactly," she says with an affectionate sigh "I caught up with him a bit earlier but he ran off to find his Housewarden. He really wanted to introduce us but said it might be a bit difficult to make that happen."

"Yeah..." Grim says as you exchange a look "Riddle's a really busy guy."

"Well never mind then." She says with a shrug. "What's up with you? Deucey tells me all sorts of things, but it's never the full truth." You shouldn't be surprised Dilla knows something is up. Honestly it's a wonder any of the students with a half way decent relationship with their parents hasn't been yanked out of this school already.

"Nothing too bad I hope?" You say, hopeful that Dilla will give you something to work with so you don't confess to something too wild. She laughs.

"I'm a mom, worrying's part of the territory." You breathe a sigh of relief, though you can't help but wonder just what Dilla's reaction would be to knowing Deuce had fought four overblot phantoms. Would she be proud? You hope so, he deserves it. "I keep telling Deuce to invite you to spend summer with us but he's really hung up on doing things the 'honorable way.'" You try your best not to fluster.

"What's that even mean?" Whines Grim, probably thinking more about the donuts you had while visiting Clock Town more than the implications kicking around in your mind. "offerin' to help me and my hench human out is honorable enough!"

"It really is," you try not to come off as too eager, it would be really nice to spend the Summer somewhere that wasn't Ramshackle, even if it would hurt the ghost's feelin-

"Is Deuce waitin' till he can afford a ring or somethin'?" Grim says, crossing his little paws and sticking your words in your throat. Dilla winking at the little monster with a conspiratorial grin makes you choke. "He is isn't he! Hmph, figures. Well he knows he won't get the Great Grim's permission!"

"Grim!" You squeak.

"Well you are a bit young," Dilla says "but you have my blessing prefect."

"I- I think there's been a bit of a misunderstanding-" you don't want to get anyone's hopes up, you aren't even dating Deuce, you want to say that you don't like him that way, but the lie dies on your lips as a familiar duo comes into view just behind Dilla.

"MOM! oh and PREFECT!!!" The overwhelming joy in Deuce's eyes contrasting with the smug amusement of Ace makes you feel just a bit more at home, despite the awkwardness of the situation. You can almost convince yourself that he's running up the road on the double just to see you.

"Think of it this way," whispers Dilla, firmly placing a hand on your shoulder in a comforting and not forceful way "you're family, and you always will be no matter what label gets slapped on things. Though I am pretty sure you can guess Deuce's preference."

You can, or at least you can hope.

A Smutty Little Jack Daniels Imagine

I've tried to do a Jack "Whiskey" Daniels fic several times, and I just can't get beyond the idea phase...

Maybe I just can't find him, his voice, something unique I can bring to him... I don't know.

Here is one, still just in an imagine/idea phase, I have literally posted and taken down, and I just don't know if it's something... but chatting with @oonajaeadira , she reminded me who I write for and why, so decided to post it again. We write for ourselves but we share for community. I hope you enjoy.

Okay, Ginger pretty clearly lets us know that Jack is not the best lover. But generally speaking, as a fandom, we have decided that Jack is a far more generous and skilled lover than canon tells us . Maybe because it's Pedro (and we literally can not imagine it), or because he has such a sincere and tragic love for his high school sweetheart wife and their little baby whom he has lost... idk. So I was thinking, what if we allow the canon to stand?

You wonder if he's all talk

But he's a good kisser, a very good kisser, and him calling you "sugar" does something to you

Alas, when you get down to it, his head between your legs, broad shoulds keeping them open wide, he is enthusiastic but sadly incompetent

Every once in awhile he brushes your clit with his mustache or that gorgeous nose and it's a fleeting glimps of heaven but he completely misreads every moan and gasp and does more of what ever the hell his mouth is doing

It's bad if you want him to slow down he speeds up, more to the left he does to the right, no instinct

Finally, you pull him up with sigh

Oh my Gods, he is looking at you with puppy dog eyes. With all his big talk, you'd think the problem is that he is a selfish lover, but you can see he wants to please you

So you are kind and ask him about his experience

He can't tell you about the spy aspect of his experience, of course, but what he does tell you gives you the picture of a whole lot if one-off experiences

You ask if there has been anyone he's reslly gotten to know and experiment with

And his high-school sweet heart - love of his life - wife comes into the conversation

He doesn't say, but you can tell she was somehow taken from him, tgeres a bittersweet shine in his eyes

He admits they were each others first- shy and inexperienced and pretty straightforward in their lovemaking but enthusiastic

You nod and tell him if it were you in high school and he simply put his hand on your knee, you would have melted

He looks down with a crooked smile and then up at you with those hopeful big brown puppy eyes

"Okay," you say, "can you be a good listener, Jack?" He nods enthusiastically. "Get down there, cowboy, I think we can sort this whole thing out."

Ok, the more I've thought about it, the more I think I understand why the conclusion they gave the Collector was so off to me. And I think it was mainly two things; the execution of it, and the vagueness of it. Let me explain.

Disclaimer! I am not claiming to know everything about writing or how to do it, so take this with a grain of salt ^^

(Major spoilers below!!! You've been warned!)

First of all, I feel the need to clarify that, a lot of the vagueness here does probably have a little bit to do with how much time they had left for this. (The shows cancelation and all that.) The crew had about, like, 10 minutes to properly wrap everything up? So they needed to make it fast enough to fit as much in. With a good majority of the characters and the conclusion of their arcs, there just isn't that much to go that in depth into.

Luz? She can properly travel between both realms now, her insecurities and guilt complex have been dealt with, and she can properly be herself around the people she loves.

Eda? While, she does still have to deal with the curse, shes properly accepted it as a part of her, and feels free to be around the people she loves.

King? While he's definitely still got a lot to learn about himself, he's more free to do so than ever and has the support and help to do so from the people around him, and those he loves. I can go on with basically everyone else, but I think you get the idea by now.

The more I think about it, in theory/concept, I think having the Collector go back to space can work. But you have to establish three main things in order for it to do so.

1) Give us enough of an idea for what exactly he will be doing in space to grow as a person. Presumably, to me anyway, I feel like they're most likely on some kind of quest to undo as much of their siblings's doings. Until, potentially facing them directly again.

2) Make sure to note that the Collector is fully aware of the fact that he has a genuine and loving support group/found family that he can return whenever he feels the need to see them again. And especially make it clear that they do just that when they can. Not too often, but still somewhat regularly.

3) Inforce the fact that the aforementioned support system/found family (Luz, King and Eda, though this can include others later on) really do care about the Collector's well being and that they are willing to be there for him when they can be.

Alrighty!! Now that I have those things out of the way, let me explain how the show messed up properly showcasing them, despite how expertly everything before this was handled.

When the epilouge's beginning starts after Luz has finally put an end to Belos's evil-doing, we get to see everyone slowly start getting use to the new circumstances of their home. None of it can ever be the same way it was before, but that's definetely for the better in most cases. After all, everyone's gone through a lot as of recently. Especially this episode.

Including, (and in my opinion, most of all) the Collector. For the last ??? amount of years, everything in their life has been... stagnent, inauthentic and overall not great. Even during what we saw during For The Future. Despite it's happy, cheery and colorful surface, it was only really a facade to mask the lack of actual care and support that Collector has in his life.

The stories and adventures he plays out with King are like his own interpretation from a game of broken telephone. They can only really immitate the genuine experience and connection formed when the real thing happened. All the denizens of the Boiling Isles are reduced to a sparkly, cute puppeted version of themselves. Lacking any real emotion in order to go along with the tone of the story.

Realistically speaking, King is the only somewhat genuine thing in the Collector's world. He's the only person that they can trust and talk to. Sure, he techically has his distant, idealized connection with Eda, but she's (at least to the Collector's knowledge) always stuck as the owl beast. So that's kind of impractical for him.

In all of these stories and games of pretend, the Collector takes what would otherwise be Luz's role in King's life. They're jealous of the relation she's had with King for so long. Collector knows that while he's close to King, they can't be as close to him as Luz.

Going by this information, we can come to the conclusion that the Collector desperately wants to have real friends, and people who won't use him or lie to him. Much like how his (presumably) distant, but still likely very ill-intentioned siblings, the Archivists did. First so they wouldn't have to deal with him, and later to take all his friends away. This pattern continued with Belos, which also lead to betrayal and abandonment for the Collector.

For his entire life, Collector has struggled grasping empathy and the overall concept of death. He said it himself, clear as day. "Toys break all the time! You just fix em'!". There is a fundamental misunderstanding for him in this regard that they are unaware of.

As for the struggle with empathy, his status as an all-powerful immortal tends to make him kinda unapproachable for most non-immortals. So in order to actually play with people who he wants to play with, but are afraid of him, he forces them to do so against their wills.

Near the beginning of Watching and Dreaming, Luz and Co. are finally able to try explaining what it means to understand other people to the Collector. And after a bit, it seems like they're finally starting to get it. Kindness and forgiveness! Who guessed it was that easy all this time?? Soon after this, the Collector tries applying his newly found morals towards the first person they can. Unfortunately for everyone, that person is the furthest thing from somebody who can be reasoned with.

The Collector starts to feel as if they can finally fix things, only to nearly get blasted by Belos, mere seconds later. Thankfully, Luz swept in to safe him and tries explaining to him that he did do the right thing, just... not with the right person. Soon enough, we find out that Luz did get grazed by Belos's power. She immediately starts disintegrating and disappearing before everyone, but more specifically, before the Collector's eyes. Moments after this, Collector is... scared, but mainly confused. King and Eda are completely speechless, only being able to stare ahead of them. The Collector tries to bring Luz back, only for nothing to happen. Things go from bad to worse when King and Eda lose themselves entirely and start fighting off Belos.

In this moment, right before Luz comes back with her titan powers, the Collector is about the lowest they've been in forever. Having just realized that they can't just fix everything with the snap of their finger, and completely powerless to do ANYTHING. King and Eda are there, but they're not there. Luz is gone. There's nowhere they could go from here. It's hopeless.

A bit after Luz comes back, the Collector decides to do something with their currently fading power and help everyone in the Archives (yknow, from falling hundreds of feet in the air towards their certain deaths).

After Belos is defeated and all the goop goes away, the Collector gently falls onto the floor of the Archives, exhausted. The moment they see Amity (someone he doesn't know well, but knows is close to Luz) walk towards him, he covers his head, expecting for her to start scolding or even attacking him. But she doesn't. She reaches her hand out to him as a friendly sign of peace, and understanding. His face literally lights up when this happens.

After all of this, while I think that Collector really can't be in the Isles all the time, considering how many people probably won't be that ok with having him around all the time after what he did, it's still obvious to me that they do finally have people who they can lean on and properly be better around. Luz, King and Eda.

...Too bad that their send-off scene doesn't make any that clear!! Like, whatsoever!!

While, yeah you can say that the main trio are DEFINITELY also exhausted after everything, I don't think that would make them all of a sudden be totally fine with the Collector leaving into space on his own.

Firstly, unless we can assume that what I said earlier about him undoing the Archivists's damage where he can, it seems like he's just, isolating himself so he can't hurt anyone until he feels worthy enough to ~maybe~ go back to the Boiling Isles eventually? You know. Like the same thing Luz wanted to do in Thanks To Them because she felt like a burden onto everyone around her? But there atleast, the show made it clear that everyone seeing Luz confess to this, had a problem with it.

During this scene. We don't see anyone other than King go after the Collector. Sure Luz is looking, but that still doesn't count for much. The phrasing of King's last onscreen words to the Collector are "I hope I see you again" before he gives them François. The way this was worded makes the idea of King giving François to the Collector seem more like an almost permanent goodbye gift. Like, the two of them won't be seeing each other again, or at least for a LOONG WHILE.

I think that adding on a "soon" at the end of "I hope I see you again" could've made it a lot better, and make it more obvious that François being given to the Collector is to remind them of their newly found family and that they will be there for him, wherever he is in the universe. Which I feel is way more fitting coming from King. Like his own version of "I don't know what the future holds, but it would be so cool if you were in it" to the Collector.

One thing that I feel like made everything make way less sense is the "No one argued" line from Luz. It makes literally no sense to me considering everything they've been through together? Like?? You'd think Luz and Eda would atleast ask him if he'll be okay going away on his own?? Considering that Luz was able to recognize where the Collector was at the beginning of the episode, it feels extremely out of character for her not to recognize what they're going through here, especially when taking into account that she went through something VERY similar as of very recently herself??

As for Eda, she just kind of, lays back away from the whole situation to begin with? For some reason? Which also feels weird to me since she was also open to being there for him earlier in the episode? She's grown enough at this point to know what to say to kids when she can tell they're not doing well at the moment. Not to mention how she would also probably be able to recognize the Collector trying to isolate themselves as something she's also gone through to protect the people she cares about!! She's fully aware it doesn't work out well when you have absolutely no one by your side! So I feel like having her atleast also reminding the Collector that they're all here for him would've meant a lot more.

As for why all of this came off as really jarring to a lot of people (i'm mainly using myself as an example here btw), The Owl House has always been a show that's overall narrative message has been about found family for different people. The main example I'll be using here is for neurodivergent people. Whether or not it's something like ADHD, autism, or any kind of personality disorder.

The Collector, to me anyway, is extremely ND coded in a few ways. So, in a way, to me personally, having it seem like nobody out of the main trio was actually concerned with the Collector's well being in this scene, felt... jarring? It gave off the message of "neurodivergent people deserve love and belonging, unless they have unstable emotional regulation and struggle grasping empathy, in which case it's okay if they isolate themselves from the people they love because those loved ones don't care about them enough to where they would have a problem with the person isolating themselves", which would be ridiculously insensetive and insulting from what's otherwise such an open-minded and emotionally mature show. I read it this way when I first watched the episode when it aired, and I feel safe to say that it was not what I needed to hear at the moment. I feel like I'm doing better now, and I understand why it hit me the way it did considering everything I mentioned earlier.

I'm not calling anybody who worked on TOH ableist for any of this, and I want to make that clear. This was obviously unintentional on their end and I'm glad that I can understand that now. This show has been here for me and so many other people through so much and other than this on gripe I have with the Collector's send-off scene, the finale was everything I could've asked for and more. That's all.

A Rose by Any Other Name (Chapter Four)

Summary: Reader and Spencer get to it on that coffee date and throughout the day finds herself to be a lot more apparent in her fondness to the genius. Her day only gets better when she receives some big news.

I did indeed get a text from him the next morning.

From: Unknown Contact

> Hey, it's Spencer. How does that coffee sound about now?

I smiled to myself and replied to him.

You know just the way to a girls heart <

I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, work started about an hour so I had enough time to do whatever I needed.

> Great, how about Laurent's Brewery in 30?

Perfect <

I hopped in the shower and started to get myself ready. Afterward I got dressed in one of my favorite work outfits and did some light makeup.

About twenty minutes later I left my apartment and walked to the coffee shop, it's a cute little place and not too far. Before walking in I hear my name. Turning around I see Spencer walking towards me.

"Right on time." He smiled.

"I enjoy being punctual." I say smiling back. He opens the door for me as we walk in.

We walk to the front and order our drink and sit down at a nearby table.

"Did you seriously ask for five sugars?" I ask laughing at the ridiculous sweet tooth this man has.

"What can I say? I like sweet things." He says with a slight smirk for a moment then goes back to his dorky smile.

Was he flirting?

I shake my head as the barista calls the both of our names as we grab our coffees and sit at the table again.

"So, have you taken any extra thought on it?" he asked me.

"Extra thought on what?"

"Pulling through to become a profiler."

I bit the inside of my cheek, I really hadn't thought any more about the topic. I mean of course I wanted to do it, but right now with filling in for JJ, I just have too much on my plate to actually execute anything.

"In all honesty, no." I say, taking a sip from my drink.

His eyebrows furrow, "Why not?"

I shrug, "I've been too busy, I guess."

"I hope you can find some time, it'd be nice to have you around with all of us. I mean, when JJ gets back..I don't know I think we'll miss you around that's all. Rossi seems happy you're around too." He says while fidgeting with his hands a little bit.

I smile warmly at him, "Aw, yknow, I've never felt so welcomed like this before." I say while picking at the side of the cup.

He tilts his head, "Really?"

I nod my head no and shrug, "Nope."

"I don't know how, as soon as JJ introduced you to us we kinda immediately had no doubts about you. Which is weird for a bunch of profilers."

I laughed and took another sip to hide my face. "I'm glad to hear that, I was so nervous I wasn't gonna fit in."

He scoffs with a smile, "Not at all."

I look at my watch, "We should probably get to work huh"

He looks at his own and nods his head, "I can give you a ride."

I thank him and we walk out to his car, getting in and beginning to head for the office.

"You have no idea how much I needed that coffee." I say slumping in the seat.

"Last night was, um, definitely a treat. We need to stop hosting parties at Rossi's the night before paperwork days." He laughs.

We pull up to the building shortly after and walked in together, Morgan's eyes shooting to us and his cheeky ass smile plastered on his face.

Walking to us, he smirk and begins, "Well well well, so you go home together, and now you come to work together, did pretty boy get it on or am I missing something?"

I roll my eyes at him, "Ha ha. Not so lucky, Derek, sorry to burst your bubble."

"Right..right." He laughs and claps his hand on Spencer's back, who, is now blushing.

"I mean, that wasn't the case this time, who knows." I tease and walk to my office, leaving him standing there.

This confidence has got to be left over from last night.

Paperwork's a bitch. After documenting everything from the previous case for a couple hours I only looked up from my writings when I heard a knock on the doorway to see Spencer.

I blinked hard from the light adjustment from the dark office to where he was standing. "Hey what's up?" I asked.

"Need any help? I finished all mine a little while ago and I thought I'd do something better with my time." He said with his hands in his pockets awkwardly.

"So you decided to come spend some time with me. That's definitely an improvement from Derek trying to force you to do his own." I joke and he laughs in agreement. I motion for him to take the seat in front of me across the desk which I now cleared off some space for him.

As he sits I hand him one of the final pages in which is needed to fill out and finish the one I'm working on.

I felt his eyes on me as I completed my writing and finally looked up at him.

"Look, sorry if what I said earlier made you uncomfortable or anything-"

"What? No, no. Not at all."

"Then why are you looking at me like that?" I ask.

A beat of silence and then a smile grew on his face.

"What?" I laugh, now seeing his demeanor.

"Nothing. I finished it up, here." He said with his smile still on his face as he handed me the paper and started to walk out.

He turns slowly to me while sucking his lips in to hide his smile.

"Y'know your nose scrunches is when you're flustered."

"What? No it doesn't." I say playfully, at least I don't think it does:

"It happened when we talked last night while we were cleaning up, this morning when I told you about how I like my coffee, and when I asked to help you."

God I hate profilers.

"Your point?" I asked crossing my arms.

"Last night I admitted to you making me nervous, and no matter how confident you seem...I don't know, it seems like I return the favor." He said with a smirk.

I had to literally keep my mouth from opening in that moment, I scoffed and looked away from him trying to compose myself even though I knew it was pointless; he'd see right through me.

"Wow, you are good at your job." I say with a faint smile and avoiding looking at him but I could feel the tension between us rise until I get snapped out of it hearing my dads voice.

"Y/N, I need to talk to you." He says across the hall and I compose myself and walk past Spencer to see him.

My dad meets me with kind eyes and puts his arm around me, guiding me to the round table to see Section Chief Strauss and Hotch.

"What's this about.." I ask with worry in my voice. "Did I do something wrong?"

Strauss smiles softly and responds, "No, at least not to my knowledge."

"A little birdie informed me of your interest as profiler." My dad choked in.

My eyebrows furrow and he continues, "I had a quick talk with Erin here and we discussed a possibility of including you onto the team within some time."

My face brightened up, "Seriously?"

Hotch comes in, "Of course you still need all the training and it may take a little while, but even as liaison you've shown evidence of having the skills to make a great profiler."

Strauss finishes up, "You continue your time here filling in for JJ and keep up the work that you've proven as being impressive, then we can start the work on getting you set up."

I'm pretty sure they could physically see the excitement spilling out of my pores. "Oh my gosh..thank you! Seriously this is huge, I mean, I'm so grateful." I say and the others nod knowingly.

My dad shakes me from under his arm in congratulations and leads me out the room to leave Strauss and Hotch.

"It won't take too long, not if I have anything to do with it." My dad says mischievously.

I roll my eyes, "A little bird told you huh."

He shrugs and we walk down to everyone else's desk as my dad goes off to the break room. Emily catches a glimpse of me and walks over, "What did Strauss want with you?" She asks with annoyance in her voice, not everyone is very um...fond of Strauss.

"Oh, nothing bad." I say, biting the smile on my face.

Emily catches up on it and cocks her eyebrow, "Mhm..you know I could always analyze you to figure it out."

"You'll find out soon enough." I smirk and she squints her eyes with a smile.

I look over my shoulder and see Spencer sitting at his desk attempting to hide a smile behind his fist as he's holding his head up.

Little birdie. Right.

Making sure to apologise profusely as I stick my ass up in my very short skirt, wearing a thong of course. Maybe I start crying and whining about how I'm gonna be fired, working here is just oh so difficult but I need the money, I really just wish I could be taken care of. I hate being independant. I kind of just act pathetic until she takes charge in the situation. Synopsis: Playing PC games. Divided into two teams with Yoongi as the MC.

Production: This one is disappointing. The first rule of video game let's plays is the audience needs to see what the player sees. We spend a lot of this episode not seeing the screen or not knowing who's screen we're seeing. Not a terrible concept but this wasn't the best execution.

Endearment: This episode was designed to rely on the guys' personalities, and I don't think they've quite got the hang of focusing on both pc games and entertainment at this point. They're not the worst I've ever seen, but they definitely improve in the years to come.

Winner: JH, RM, V

Loser: JN, JK, JM

Best Cheater: none? if there was one, we'd have no idea since we rarely see what's on screen.

FIRST OF ALL!!!! what an incredibly beautiful and wonderful image ... Natsuhiko is fucking scary gigantic here though. This is kind of like . I'm sorry. it's like such a cocksleeve proportions situation it's scary. Aida-sensei makes me laugh sometimes ... but ! but!!!! the lace is sooo inspiring and beautiful! This is the most I've REALLY seen her render breasts.... the hair though, rendered as beautifully as ever, Aida has an incredible knack for tension, slack, how hair lays....

the pastel colors outside the window... the typical red/green of this ship... but then the strong, dark green, black, ah absolutely amazing, this illustration really stands out amongst Aida's art.

I really love the vibes of NatsuSaku art....

this is so off topic but this extra from Nene-chan's class who is always quite present and has been from very early on, I am Convinced he is Lent from AidaIro's defunct VN Shounen Santa ... I have no proof of this. I hope one day I am somehow vindicated (?)

Those in the auditorium being effectively closed off from the pandemonium is really cool! It's nice to not have to be dealing with the noise and chaos for multiple chapters...!!

I am very charmed by Amane's instinct to 'get Yashiro away', as it's , as it turns out, a very useless, impotent instinct in this scenario; whether Amane had blipped her out of the auditorium with him, got 10 feet or 50 feet away from the clock, wouldn't matter a single bit, it's not as if he did not move fast enough... it's just very novel to know he truly had no idea in the slightest what he was up against. He's bound to the school, so out of everyone, Amane is the most helpless in this situation-- he could have never even left the school to evade anything... nothing short of yeeting Nene-chan out of the school would have helped her. I like the raw instinct to grab her hand and run away with her, and I like how that contrasts Tsukasa's empirical knowledge.

gorgeous gorgeous effects and vibes-- I was truly hooked, on edge, spooked, in the atmosphere. Such a talent, AidaIro ... such strong visions, from concept to execution, I just adore it.

In love with the detail that Nene-chan is aware she is not breathing, can feel herself not breathing. The perpetual consciousness in this state is very luxurious, very fetishistic, haha.

This is perhaps a very ... great way to 'shelve' our C-listers, Mitsuba, Kou, the gangs, I'm kind of glad if at least that can all be 'on pause' while we do things with the pieces here ... it's actually very interesting to me if Mitsuba and Kou are also conscious but frozen, for their characters I would like them to be stuck in place and forced to just THINK for a long time, contemplate ... especially Kou... he is such a 'run and smack things' guy, I really enjoy what being immobilized longterm could do to him. His whole deal is feeling weak and useless, so this is kind of perfect for him. Literally forced to stand there uselessly and helplessly, while again, other people solve the problems! ha ha....

ah so cute and funny. Love to imagine this all from Amane's perspective. Hearing an feeling Tsukasa only, unable to turn to see him. Knowing he and Nene-chan cannot move while Tsukasa is free-floating.

Which, anyway, would have to confirm Tsukasa as a sort of God, right? If the clock effects kaii and humans alike, and we see it doing so, but it has no effect on Tsukasa. The clock cannot effect him.

I wonder if boundaries are effected, or no? It's hard to know what 'technically' counts as 'part of the school'. At the very least the 'nowhere' space should be safe. We'll talk more about that in a moment..

I believe Tsukasa, that destroying the yorishiro would give the dominion of time to them..... Though, it's interesting, given that no other yorishiro destruction + usurping has resulted in, as far as we know, Nene-chan or Hanako acquiring that power (it has, seemingly, been absorbing into Tsukasa as the original God?). I wonder if the clock simply works differently? It seems to really be its own entity....

uuu love to see Tsukasa sitting and admiring Nene-chan... I wonder if he's thinking about what he's about to do?

Do you think Tsukasa thought a lot about, what he's going to do here? I think he did ... if the plan has been "and I'll make Nene-chan my assistant!" then... based on Amane's behavior... I think "my assistant" comes with kisses .... ♥ I think it's Amane's fault, for having the world's craziest definition of 'assistant' known to man... what on Earth has 'assistant' meant to you, Amane?

You know, it almost feels polite, that Tsukasa has asked in the past, if you are dating ... and received a 'no' from Nene-chan. You can kiss girls you don't date all you want, apparently! Particularly your assistants ....

ah, a big favorite, and feels underlined in significance ... ! I think Tsukasa ... as a person who has seen, can see, so many eventualities, possibilities, who sat in the Red House's infinity outside of linear time, who can access Nowhere and traverse it so seemingly simply now, who knew how to navigate the Red House's Nowhere as it was "his house"... craves this kind of wonderful mystery, a lack of control in something, something new, something unwoven in time. There must be something about Amane-- who jumped the track of fate entirely-- and Nene-chan, mysteriously tied to the yorishiros-- which make them perhaps, invisible to Tsukasa's perception, in some way?

Tsukasa is so excited when Amane surprises him in the Far Shore by already understanding the God conditions...

when this moment happened, I thought... "it actually scares me Amane can surprise Tsukasa!" ... and now, it seems more confirmed than ever ... but it is something Tsukasa must cherish about Amane, Nene-chan, that he can't predict them.... it must feel so .. different, to be Tsukasa. To have seen so much of the shape of everything, from time, to value... life, death, what is precious, what isn't ... I understand why he likes to offer people opportunities. I do not think Tsukasa is a "sick fuck" or "enjoy misery" as many think. Just cannot have any ability to engage in linear existence with everyone else, at this exact moment in time.

He should get to have his fun.

I can't begin to .... relay the, euphoria, disbelief, shock, mania, seeing this, unbelievable. My husband and I-- laughing out loud so suddenly, unimaginable. The single most shocking page of the entire manga thus far, EEEEVEN as a TsuNene truther!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH Teru and Akane, so funny to find him like this. I am assuming for the moment that Akane is free from the clock's influence, given his pocketwatch and duty, and that he unfroze Teru himself ... ? since Kou is certainly frozen.... alternately idk, maybe Teru and Akane have some tied fates from the shore/Aoi shenanigans, idk. They have weird dynamics in AUs sometimes. Whatever doesn't really matter.

Kinda hope they, like... detain.... Hanako... before unfreezing him, like bind him in beads and an electrified cage, and then question him on what he saw/knows (he would not tell them about Tsukasa...?) and, Hanako just a nonverbal incoherent wreck.... it feels like, fairly obvious he didn't intend this given his equally frozen state and the blood presenting incredible harm/risk to him but not to a human, so. I love high school aus, I only have one going and it's gold/silver mostly because i've been out of high school too long and don't trust myself to write it well lmao, but this one is amazing, i remember clicking on it and being like, hmm not gonna read yet and when i finally did i ended up going back and rereading it (i was in the hospital with pneumonia so there wasn't much to do but read and write lmao) The Oak Tree by FarishtaFyre, it's soooo good, worth the read for sure

And We Shall Burn by Juulz, this one is LONG which is great cause there are only a few long fics for this pairing which sucks, it's really well written and has a bunch of twists and turns

Long answer below

This is a theme I love going over, because it inevitably shows up in I think all of my IZ fics. I think there can be a lot of arguments for all favors, and I personally like to mix things up in my own writing, but if I had to pick one, I am most popular of the theme that Zim already knows.

I've seen some really good takes that I can't immediately find, but there's a running idea that I fully am in support of that Zim is incredibly manipulative, and way smarter than he appears. Anytime Zim is in trouble, he plays up his acting to either be stupider or more pathetic to shrug off the severity of the situation, and it works.

An example I can immediately think of is in the first episode. Zim literally wreaked havoc on his own planet, just because he lacked self-control, and for the shits and giggles of it. It absolutely got him banished, but let's not forget Skoodge gets launched into space, effectively (nearly) executed, just for being too short for propaganda purposes. Zim got banished, which is definitely severe, but if Skoodge can get killed just for being short, Zim definitely should've been killed for his actions.

Furthermore, he just sort of ditches his banishment, which is really funny, but also incredibly disrespectful in itself. Zim essentially demonstrated that he considers any orders from the Tallest as optional. The last service drone we saw to do that got launched into the sun (Hobo 13). Note however that he was MUCH more overt and aggressive about his disrespect. It was his attitude AND his actions that got him (presumably) killed. Zim manages to shrug off accusations of disobedience by essentially feigning naivety, cuteness, and well-spoken groveling. With these little tricks, Zim doesn't get what he wants, exactly (aka a real mission) but through his actions, the Tallest dismiss him as more of a nuisance than what he actually is; disobedient, disrespectful, and demanding.

There's more examples throughout the series, and if I ever find that analysis again I'll totally link and rb this post with it attached, but the essence is that Zim knows the Tallest hate him. I sincerely believe he wants to prove himself and gain their favor, but I think the reasoning behind it is that he already knows he doesn't have it. His flippancy on being their favorite is for appearances. If everyone else thinks they know something he doesn't, it's really him who has one over on them.

TLDR: I think the way Zim would react is doing exactly what he's already been doing; plead, beg, flatter, and play dumb to get what he wants, if only to get rid of something his leaders consider a nuisance instead of a defective threat to the Empire.

tng update time and oooooh am i ever mad about it. tonight we watched "hero worship" and "violations."

hero worship: i wanted to like this episode. but, firstly, it's just yet more evidence why children should not be on starships. this has been bothering me the entire time i've watched this fucking show. i hope there aren't any kids on voyager or whatever because this is literally fucking killing me

secondly, i felt really weird about everyone just...going along with this kid's idea that he was an android. i feel like there's a way to be lenient of his trauma without reinforcing the delusion or whatever sorry ik that's not how you're supposed to say it. it just didn't seem like solid therapeutical practice is all. i will admit there was also some secondhand embarrassment watching this kid's impersonation of data but i think it COULD have been cute (which seems to be what they were going for) with a better execution

i DEFINITELY think data's interactions with him should have been supervised too, not because i don't love and trust data wholly but because he has this way of missing certain emotional cues. and while that isn't a problem in day-to-day life, like, that's just the way he is and i resent anyone who would make him feel like it's a bad way to be/there's something wrong with him because he is PERFECT the way he is!!! for someone who is so vulnerable i think that data could accidentally do harm where it isn't intended (almost did a couple of times!), and data wouldn't be happy about that either because of course it would never be his intention. like i LOVE episodes where we just throw data into the deep end and let him figure it out, i love watching him go, but this is a child whose entire family/ship just DIED HORRIBLY who thinks he is responsible for the event. im not saying dont let data be his buddy data deserves so many buddies im just saying give data some INSTRUCTIONS at least. for both their sakes

anyway it was mid at best. it had a few good moments but ultimately not enough to salvage it for me

tasha yar and the rape gangs. the naked time: 2! where both women got turned into insatiable sex object. deanna's impromptu and nonconsensual pregnancy. tasha's impregnantion by rape and her death at the hands of her rapist. that time they filmed deanna's feet. beverly crusher for all of season 1 having absolutely no personality outside of being a mother. lwaxana troi getting gang raped by ferengi for laughs. genuinely uhura on tos in the fucking 1960s got treated better than deanna troi on tng in the 1990s. yes tos has extremely bad moments sexism wise. JUSTICE for janice fucking rand. but truly how can you be as sexist against women when they aen't there. meanwhile, tng has women in every goddamn episode and all it takes is for one bad writer to

actually you know what is so funny. gene roddenberry and two women are credited with writing this episode. ALL of them are going to hell, gene roddenberry especially. i hate hate hate HATE his rape fetish. justice for janice rand AND tasha yar AND DEANNA TROI!

the thing about this episode is, it could have been good. there were good parts about it. for example: worf's joke about being probed. they knew what they were doing and it was hilarious. deanna getting to talk about her overbearing mother. riker's little speech to deanna when she was in the coma with literal tears in his eyes and this is a WHOLE separate rant but

my problem with tng is that you don't see them care about each other. we're TOLD that they care about each other. they SAY, "oh, x is worried about [character who's in danger this week]." but we almost never SEE them act it out. every once in awhile riker gets weirdly protective of picard, and worf seems kind of protective of everyone which i like, and picard also does a good righteous rage on behalf of others, but i don't usually get to SEE it. like when wesley goes missing or whatever he and his mom don't always immediately rush into each others arms on their reunion. when deanna passes out you don't always see riker abandon what he's doing and rush to her side. nobody asks "are you okay?" with genuine concern. and even when we DO get for example geordi driving himself crazy wondering what went wrong over data's fake death we don't get any follow-through - there's no reunion between geordi and data at the end the way there would be for kirk and spock.

BUT RIKER AT THE HOSPITAL BED. ohhh i was eating. it was so good. he wasn't even saying anything of merit but just the SIGHT of her passed out like that had him almost in tears. riker, who is the epitome of good humor and dealing with space horrors with laughter. IN TEARS. it was so good. a true show instead of tell moment. and in THIS fucking episode

my issue is: they had three on screen rape scenes. the first rape scene was extremely long. like they couldn't show anything explicit because this is 90s tv but it was VERY VERY LONG so it hardly seems to matter. and THAT was bad enough. but then they made us watch it AGAIN when he planted his dad's face in the memory and A THIRD TIME when he was like "ugh she's being so sweet to me even though i raped her i can't NOT rape her again." like at least that time she was able to hit him and get away but it feels like a hollow victory when he's already gotten away with it TWICE, AND!!! when worf had to come in and save her anyway at the end.

it was doubly horrible that he got away with the crime SO WELL that nobody suspected him - like, picard is out here asking deanna to let him into her mind a second time and she GOT RAPED. A SECOND TIME. deanna is like oh yeah you can come in! and it could have been a compelling mystery and plot twist to be like OH IT'S THE DAD but really it's the son except we SAW HIM DO IT the first time. there wasn't even any mystery to solve or anyone to suspect, he wasn't misdirecting US, we just got to watch him successfully misdirect this poor stupid naive trusting WOMAN

also, the thing about deanna's attack being a rape scene while riker's was someone dying under his command and beverly's was IDing her husband's dead body is that for riker and bev these are REAL THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO THEM. deanna never got raped by riker. like, he wouldn't do that and they wouldn't still be as close and comfortable with one another if he had. (i am mad on his behalf TWICE now that they left it open whether or not he committed that particular crime when every other piece of evidence says he wouldn't. the guy is not a closet serial rapist and leaving the endings open to be edgy is extremely poor form.) like, they literally JUST made deanna's attack a rape scene to sexualize her and feed roddenberry's fetish and HE'S DEAD. HE WAS DEAD WHEN THIS AIRED. HE CAN'T JERK OFF TO IT ANYMORE

they didn't even explain why that guy kept leaving people in comas. deanna i get because he was stalking her and wanted to fuck her but why riker? why beverly? that made it MORE suspicious. why all those other people on the other planets? was he raping every single one of them? how did he plan to keep going after he'd framed his dad for his crimes?

and it COULD HAVE BEEN GOOD. beverly's thing with IDing her husband's body was fun and terrifying. deanna could have gotten a memory that spoke to character development instead of being sexualized like this. in fact i think it was lowkey a pussy move not to deal with any of riker's close encounters because of the two of them riker is the one who has actually been raped! "someone died under my command" is generic and lame. but the way the telepathy worked was cool, the plot twist could have been cool, you could have felt real betrayal from liking this dude if he hadn't been all evil smiles from the beginning. and they dropped the ball SO HARD. and i could forgive them for doing that! i have given tng so many benefits of the doubt! BUT THREE RAPE SCENES IN 45 MINUTES?

the worst part is, there was no emotional resolution. they had that guy say the word rape out loud and then the credits rolled. deanna and riker didn't speak one word to each other. she was never like, i know you didn't actually rape me like that's not what happened. no one was like, beverly go have a hot drink and call your son. there's NO EMOTIONAL FOLLOWTHROUGH ON THIS SHOW. tos was guilty of that sometimes too but this level of it is fucking unreal

This was the most anticlimactic finale I have EVER seen in my life??

On that note, tho, things I actually quite liked, maybe even LOVED???? I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. Well, MOST of it. Especially:

Santa's lines are all delivered so unenthusiastically and he just. GOD. You know how in The Christmas Invasion Ten looks at Harriet Jones, Prime Minister, then goes over to her assistant and is like "doesn't she look tired"? I feel like we could totally do that to Tomothy and just. End him. Then and there.

KRIS. He's really cool. Like I unironically enjoy him. He a little naive but BOY DOES HE HAVE THE SPIRIT! AND I LOVE THAT! Honestly, they could've had him be the next Santa and he'd be AMAZING at it tbh! he was very underused and that was a SHAME. Remember in episode 1 when we saw his dad for like 3 seconds and I thought "wow we could have a whole father figure angle here!" as if the writing in this show could actually decently do something like this

Again, I keep getting hung up on the weird choices and the lore????????

Weird choices: having the underlying theme of Betty/Olga fight being I WANT THAT TOY NO IT'S MINE was weird?? You could've done it differently to get them to the Workshop to chat. you could have had them call one another out with their toymaking skills? And go from there?????? IT WOULD'VE BEEN EASY TO DO

Weird choices: Bringing Kris up??? I LOVED it, he was perf comedic relief--like, if anyone in this universe should have loony toon powers (see: him appearing in the cell behind Mad Santa and everyone being like OH YOU'RE HERE TOO), it's Kris. 100%

My mood @ Kris is very much:

IS IT BECAUSE OF THE "storied apex of the globe" COMMENT NOEL MAKES WHEN HE'S BEING A BAMF AND HYPING UP THE GNOMES? IS IT LEY LINES??? LIKE. WHAT IS THE EXPLANATION?

I would be FINE with suspending my disbelief if they had maybe just GIVEN THE CONCEPTS AND CHARACTERS TIME TO GROW!!! You could've rewritten the whole entire "we're stealing doing Easter!" episode and instead SOLELY FOCUS ON MAGIC. Have Befana react more mildly and go "this is different, come along" and bring Sandy to her lil cabin while they try to figure it out and THEN drop the "she was born at the NP and this is why she ca do such a powerful spell" and then have someone go what why?? AND BOOM. BEFANA GIVES US EXPOSITION, WE LEARN, SANDRA CAN HAVE A PLOTTY ARC WHERE SHE'S LIKE "no, I can't do that, that's. Girl that's crazy" to have the build to her un-nutcrackering Buddy have more of an OOMPF, you know? IT'S THAT EASY. ARGH.

LET SCOTT SEE HOW MAGNUS WAS BEFORE HE GOT PARANOID AND DISPATCHED BY THE ELVES! THEN MAYBE. JUST MAYBE. Season thoughts: Ouch. Brain hurty. Andie you were SO RIGHT with the disjointed bit. TOO MUCH LORE. TOO MUCH THROWING BACK. NOT ENOUGH EXPLANATIONS/GROWING TIME. CHARACTER ARCS ARE ONCE MORE NONEXISTENT. THEY JUST HAPPEN AND WE DON'T SEE THEM. SOMEHOW BETTER THAN SEASON 1???? BUT STILL. NOT GREAT! Mid, mostly. Not great! Nothing to write home about tbh.

You Should Know

Summary: Luz and Lilith travel back to the deadwardian era, unaware of being followed by the Blue Guard.

Word count: 4.8k

Warnings: Swearing, pain, death threats(they're towards Philip so it's good), typos.

A/N: I've already changed things and made decisions that are different from or probably going to be different from canon, it's just more fun for me this way. Also this got long so it's getting split up.

Silver's back hurt. Her chest hurt. Her horns hurt. Her gums hurt. Her head hurt. Her eyes stung. She was tired. Everything hurt. All she wanted to was be home and sleep.

Instead she was following Lilith and Luz, looking for time pools.

"Are you sure they know what they're doing?" Silver asked.

She had been following since yesterday, they hadn't found anything yet. Phoebe had repeatedly assured her it wasn't a lost cause, as they had been to Time Pools before.

"Yep, they have the right idea, their execution is a little off, that's why it's taking them so long. They've got the blood, that's the most important part." They said.

"What's the blood for again?"

"Titan's Blood has many uses, it's a very powerful substance, it's so powerful it can break through barriers, it makes gateways. It can be used as a power source for more mundane things, and to make Blood Compasses." Phoebe told her.

"Blood Compasses?"

"Oh yeah, it's a little contraption that we used to find Titan's Blood, you can use blood to find other sources of but when you use just blood it's very vague and unspecific, they made compasses that were powered by the blood so they would be able to specify their search. I'm not quite sure how but you could use it to narrow down and find things like Time Pools." They explained.

"Oh, that makes sense." Silver paused, "You said they have a very distinct smell, right?" She asked.

"Yes, it's unlike anything you'll ever smell and unforgettable." They nodded.

"Do you think I could track it down once they move?" She inquired.

"Yes, actually, I know you can. One of your great great grandparents used to track them down all the time, they liked going back and seeing Stone Sleepers." Phoebe nodded.

"Whoa, that's cool! Are they the one who made you?"

"No, I've been around far longer than that." Phoebe chuckled.

"Ha! Exactly what I thought! These are wrinkling oaks." Silver and Phoebe turned to Lilith.

She was standing by a decidedly unwrinkly tree.

"They don't look very wrinkly." Luz observed.

"That's because something is keeping them locked in time." Lilith said excitedly.

She started doing some calculations on her journal. Silver started hearing strange things up ahead. Phoebe chuckled.

"That's the Time Pools, they can't hear it like you." They said.

"They're noisy." She complained.

"This way. They'll follow." Phoebe tugged at her scarf.

She followed her Palisman past the foliage out to a beach. The water was calm and the tide was out.

Lilith and Luz came out onto the beach, the former looked very disappointed.

"Was it my tools? Are they broken?" Lilith took off her glasses and looked at her reflection, "Am I broken?"

Silver winced at that. Lilith looked so happy a few seconds ago.

"Just wait, that frown'll be gone in no time." Phoebe chirped.

Luz pulled her head out of the sand and held something, waving it around excitedly.

"Lilith! You found Time Pools!" She shouted.

"Ha! In your face!" Lilith shouted at her reflection.

"Is, is that... is she alright?" Phoebe asked.

"I'm sure she's fine. Let's see what they're doing." Silver ran over and copied them.

Air hit her face instead of sand. She peeked an eye open to see a Stone Sleeper. It was scratching it's neck, it yawned then sat down to sleep, turning to stone. She giggled and pulled her head up.

"I see why my grandparent liked to go see those, they're really cute." She said to her Palisman, they nodded in agreement.

"Lilith! I found it! I found Philip's time!" Luz shouted.

"Philip? Who's that?" Silver asked Phoebe.

"Philip? He was some random wash up, don't know much about him, must not've been memorable." They shrugged.

Silver turned back to catch the end of a Lilith Ramble, and saw Lilith doing some kind of weird dance.

She followed the duo into the time pool. When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by a stunning yellow and blue sky, starkly different from the purples and oranges she was accustomed to.

"Whoa... has it always looked like this?" She asked.

"Not always but it has for a really long time, it's changed a lot in my life, this is one of my favorites though." Phoebe said.

Silver overheard Luz and Lilith talking about being careful since it was the savage ages and they don't know what to expect or how the citizens would as she followed them into Bonesborough.

This seems pretty tame to me. She thought.

"Argi, wanna look around?" Phoebe asked.

"Shouldn't I keep an eye on them?"

"Nah, they won't go far, we'll catch up later." Phoebe gave her a nudge away from them.

Silver glanced back at Lilith, she was looking at the thatch work of a roof and seemed happy about whatever she was scribbling down.

"Well, I guess we could look around." She relented.

Phoebe chirped joyfully and grabbed her arm, pulling her down the stone road.

Witches and demons were doing magic for fun. They were doing things that had no practical use to them, people were happy. She'd never seen so many people look this happy before. She never saw anyone who worked in the coven look this happy either.

"Over here!" Phoebe chirped, perched on the branches of a tree.

"Climb up." They said.

Silver climbed up to the branch Phoebe was sitting on and, upon hearing laughter, looked down. Below them was a group of Palisde. They were sitting around the tree and talking, they looked like they were having fun.

A bunch of Palisman were sitting around them, relaxing, eating and playing with each other. Some of the Palisman had Palistrom leaf pulp plastered on some spots, one, a turtle, had the pulp wrapping all the way around it's leg. There was a ferret Palisman with the bandaging on it's tail that looked a lot like Nutmeg, Miss Nazik's Palisman. Oh, it was Nutmeg.

Oh, they're fixing those Palisman... we used to fix Palisman for others?

"Phoebe, who are they?" She pointed to the Palisde.

One of the younger ones looked familiar to her. She had sunset oranges and pinks in her skin, purple hair, translucent purple and gold protective casings over her wings and deep blue horns.

Phoebe gestured with her head towards a cyan bird Palisman nestling between the horns of one of the older Palisde, she was sitting close to another one of similar age. The Palisman was a phoenix, with purple head feathers and golden eyes.

"Is that... you?" Silver's jaw dropped.

"Yeah, that's me." The joy was gone from their voice, replaced with wistful longing.

"Those two right there are your great grandparents," Phoebe pointed down to the couple sitting together against the tree with past Phoebe.

"And that one there is one of your grandmas, she's with your other grandma right now actually." Phoebe pointed to the sunset Palisde she'd noticed earlier.

She had a spotted cat Palisman of some kind sleeping on her lap, she was laying with her head on the lap of another Palisde, this one had mostly deep pinks and reds in her skin, her wing casings were pale cyan, her hair was a vibrant teal blue and her horns were a peachy orange color.

"The orange one is Vin'nyla, the pinker one is Paloma." Phoebe told her.

The couple was smiling at each other, Paloma had a small harp and was lightly strumming her hands along it. Vin'nyla was humming along with the tune she was playing. The grass and flowers swayed and danced with the music. They were in a world of their own making.

Silver leaned down so she could hear the song better. It sounded so familiar, yet she couldn't place it. The obvious answer was that she had heard it before because they had played it with her around. They were her grandparents. The other Palisde must've been friends or siblings, they were talking, joking around and playing.

"Those are my grandmas?" She asked, in disbelief at being able to see them.

"Yep, Vin'nyla and Paloma." Phoebe nodded.

Silver bit down on her lip. She was filled with questions for her Palisman, questions she knew they could answer, but wouldn't want too. She had so many questions about her family and seeing part of that family now, sitting within reach, made those questions grow.

"What happened to them?" She asked.

Phoebe's grip on her perch tightened, talons digging deep into the branch. She didn't move, but Silver knew they were looking at something else.

"Died."

Short response. Never good. Apologize before he hits!

"I'm sorry for asking, I won't do it again." She said quickly.

Phoebe glanced at her, their gaze was soft and kind.

"Don't be sorry, you did nothing wrong, it's not something I enjoy thinking about. I was lost for a long time after that, lost and hurt." Phoebe flew up onto her shoulder and rubbed their face against her cheek.

"I thought all of my family died that day, then I found you. Everything is good as long as I have you." Phoebe chirped softly.

Silver gave them a hug.

"Aw, Phoebe!" She sniffled.

Phoebe made her happy chirp. The pair felt eyes watching them and looked down to see the golden eyes of past Phoebe. The Palisman watched them with sharp eyes.

"We should go, don't want to mess with the past." Phoebe gave Silver a gentle push away from the tree.

"Do you think I could come back here and talk with them?" Silver asked as she left, following the human's scent trail.

"Maybe." Phoebe said.

Silver had caught back up with Lilith and Luz, they were asking a three headed demon about something. The answer disappointed Luz. Silver's ears flicked back as she caught the sounds of a scuffle.

"Dance, human. Dance!" A gruff voice shouted.

Luz ran past her and peeked around a wall with Lilith close behind. Silver walked past them to get a better look.

Two large demons, both with one, large protruding fang, green and red, were ganging up on a human much smaller than them. They had taken a journal from him. The human had pale skin, brown hair and smelled disgusting. He smelled rotten.

"Give that back!" The human shouted, jumping up to try and grab his book, which was being tossed between the demons.

They laughed at his pathetic attempts to get it back. He shook his head in dismay.

"I can't believe this. After the bonds of fellowship we forged-"

"Bonds? Ha! You still owe us!" The red fanged demon shoved the human, he fell to the ground.

"When I accomplish my mission, I promise you, you'll have your snails!" The human shouted in panic as the demons continued tossing his book.

"You promise? You've made promise before, Philip, how many have you kept?" A pink, purple and blue tail struck out at the book, pulling it into pale yellow-green arms.

Rounded, cold blue eyes examined the pages of the book.

Miss Nazik? Silver knew she'd ran the risk of encountering her mentor if she went to the past, she just hadn't expected her to be so... Different.

She looked nothing like the demon she knew.

"Hmm, 'With my new and bravest companion, Blue Fang, I set forth. His strength should make fast work of any task'? Worthless lies, as I would expect from you." Miss Nazik clearly didn't like him.

She walked, with a considerable limp, past the fang brothers, handing them the journal. She stood tall above the human. Silver looked over her mentor, she had less scars, her right arm, tail and eye were still there and the jaged scar on her under shell wasn't there. She still had some long scars on her arms and legs, burns, but considerably less.

Her hair was much longer, the dark blue transitioned to a teal shade at the end. There was a chunk of flesh missing from her upper thigh, the reason for her limp, she still had it, and the bite mark scars on her under-shell were there. Her antenna and shell were more vibrant in color, she looked more alive than Silver had ever seen her.

"Who is that?" Luz asked behind her.

"I don't believe it, that's Carlyne Nazik! She's one of the oldest beings on the Isles, it's possible she knows more than Belos! I never thought I'd see her in her element! The savage ages as the creator of a haven from the destruction of this time! This is amazing! I bet Flora would be so impressed by- wait, everybody knows her relation to us, they'd think she just told me." Lilith said, quickly going from excited to disappointed.

"Don't worry, I'll handle this." Miss Nazik grabbed Philip off the ground and held him up.

"Get the fuck out of here before I tell her and we kill you." She hissed, a thick venom in her voice.

"I'll deal with the leech, then we'll find your brother and his Palisman." She said to the fang brothers and handed them the journal.

They tossed the journal up, the pages started scattering. The wind picked up the freed pages and carried them away. Philip struggled, trying to get Miss Nazik to drop him.

"Let me down!" He shouted.

"No, maybe for once, you'll watch-"

"Hey! Leave him alone!" Silver groaned as Luz intervened in the worst way.

She had some of the scattered journal pages in her hands and a determined look on her face. Miss Nazik slowly turned and looked down at Luz, her expression became oddly softer. She held Philip with her tail and bent down to the Luz's level.

"This is probably startling for one your age but, trust me, he deserves this." Miss Nazik said calmly.

"How? That doesn't make any sense!" Luz exclaimed.

Silver glanced at the papers in the Luz's arms. There was an image of Eclipse Lake, in the corner, two humans were drawn, one was frowning, the other was smiling and, oddly, looked like Hunter.

Weird.

Miss Nazik had noticed the papers too. Sadness wafted off her in bitter, angry waves. Her whole body tightened, she dropped Philip and put her hands on the Luz's shoulders.

"If you're new here, I highly suggest you and your aunt don't waste your time on a leech like him." She said bitterly then turned on her toes to Philip.

"Get the fuck out and don't ever come back." She snapped.

"If you do, you'll be dealing with Viviane too, she doesn't have my 'patience' for you." She added.

Fear flashed across Philip's face. He composed himself and started collecting the remaining scattered pages. Miss Nazik started to leave.

"Once you would have helped when someone treated me like that. Look at what they did to you, where did your heart go?" Philip asked bitterly.

Miss Nazik stopped, glaring over her shoulder at him.

"You know exactly what you did." She sneered and turned to Luz.

"Do what you want with the leech, I couldn't give a fuck, just get him the Hell out of here." She snapped then finally left.

Luz started talking to Philip. Silver didn't pay attention to them, she was focused on Miss Nazik.

Why is she so upset with him? What did he do? Why does she hate him? She looked to Phoebe.

"I'm old, I don't know everything." She deadpanned.

Silver stared after Miss Nazik until Phoebe nudged her.

"It couldn't hurt to follow." They suggested.

She glanced back, they were talking, it didn't seem like Luz and Lilith would be getting anywhere with Philip soon. She went after Miss Nazik, she'd be able to track them down later.

She followed her to a healing center. Silver slipped in behind.

"I know that look, what happened?" A new voice said.

There was a witch sitting next to an injured, sick child with a glowing light coming from her hands. A healing spell without a spell circle? How is she doing that?

The witch smelled like she'd be in her late fifties or sixties, she didn't look much like it, she looked very healthy, especially for her era. She had dirty blonde hair, tan skin and rusty pink eyes. She had a unique hair cut, half of it was short, coming down to her shoulder, the other half was longer, reaching her waist. Streaks of baby blue were dyed into a lock of hair tucked behind her ear, part of the short side was dyed a deep magenta and a lot of the long side was dyed purple.

Sitting on a chair next to her was a witch hat with those same colors on it, magenta to purple to blue from tip to brim. She had a tattered green half cape over a red and gold dress. There were scars on her hands, arms and face. One healed scar was on her left cheek. She'd seen images of her in Miss Nazik's office.

Miss Nazik sighed and slumped down in an available chair. She rubbed her forehead and let out a groan.

"I think we have trouble. It's him."

The witch nodded slowly, the healing glow of her hands flickered. She closed her eyes and the spell's potency returned.

Miss Nazik's antenna extended forwards in response to the change in mood. The bulbs at the end even glowed. Argi had never seen that behavior before. She always kept her antenna pulled close to her, she only used them for sensing her surroundings, never to connect, they never lit up at all.

The lively glow and color of her antenna made clear to Argi how different her mentor was.

The demon she knew was an injured, tired, breaking woman being crush under the weight of five hundred years that were anything but easy, a woman with five hundred years of mistakes, regrets and pain weighing her down, sucking the color out of her.

The demon she saw in front of her was hurt, but she wasn't tired, she was under pressure from her past but it wasn't the deadly crushing pressure she carried with her at all times. She was alive, signs of a fierce spirit glowed in her eyes and she looked so whole.

Three hundred years really made a difference, what happened? Where did this Nazik go? Argi wondered uselessly. She knew exactly what happened to the woman in front of her.

She had died. At some point in the last three hundred years, Miss Nazik had been hurt, she'd been crushed. She'd put herself back together but she'd never been the same. Argi knew Miss Nazik understood that, she heard her thoughts, Miss Nazik knew she was a different person than she had been in this time, she had let go of the idea she could ever go back.

Still, Argi felt... hurt, somehow, seeing her mentor's younger years, seeing the change.

Miss Nazik leaned forwards and started helping with the spell. She took the witch's hands in her webbed ones, the injuries of the witchlet, scratches, possibly an infection from the smell, started healing faster.

"So, how are the terrors doing, Sis?" She asked with a lighter tone in her voice.

The witch, apparently someone Miss Nazik considered family, smiled with a laugh.

"You know Ori, she's off with her girlfriend, as usual. Ama is taking taking her job very seriously, also as usual." The witch paused, a worried look passed her face.

"I need to get Ori to drag her off to some Claw-Thorn clan craziness, she's working herself so hard." She sighed.

"You know why, Viviane, she just wants to protect everyone." There were unspoken words Miss Nazik left out.

"I know. But how can I help her understand that she can't save everyone, that trying will make it harder to help?" Viviane asked in exasperation.

"The same way you made him understand." Miss Nazik said bluntly.

Viviane winced and shot Miss Nazik a glare. Miss Nazik hardly flinched, her gaze softened, she rubbed her thumbs over the back of her sister's hands.

Argi picked up the sounds of her targets starting to move. She didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay, see more of her mentor's past, see more of this witch who's presence was still felt whenever she entered Miss Nazik's office.

But instead of staying, again, she turned in the direction of her mission.

"So, what was Car- er, that turtle demon's problem with you?" Lilith asked Philip.

"We used to be friends, she and her sister are the reason I'm still alive today. But, there was an accident some time ago, it was a tragic, many of our mutual friends perished, and she didn't get off as easily as I did." Philip paused.

"I reckon, in her grief, she needed a reason for why it happened, she needed someone to blame, I was the only other survivor, so she is blaming me for what happened." He shrugged.

"I understand why she's upset, I just wish she didn't take it so far." He added.

"Hmm. I don't buy that. This guy smells wrong, you know?" Argi prompted to Phoebe.

She shrugged. Argi sighed and followed the trio into a cave where Luz showed Philip one of her spells.

Argi got a look at the paper she'd done it on. Wait, that's just an old light spell. That's what's inside of any light based spell, how'd the human find that? They're only shown in aincent Palisde texts.

She'd gotten distracted by her thoughts and was alarmed by the flash of light that surrounded them.

They ended up in an ice cave with a pair of large doors at the end. An old smell hung to the place.

"Whoa, where are we?" Luz asked.

Argi took in the cave, she opened her mouth to taste the air and took in as much air as she could through her nose as well.

"If I had to guess, I'd say the Titan's head." She said, forgetting no one could hear her.

"We're in the head of the Titan?!" Luz shouted in alarm.

Lilith looked frightened and alarmed.

"w-We're what?!? But this is sacred ground! This is the gathering sight of the Palisde Elders! Only Palisde come here!" Lilith exclaimed.

"Wait, It's sacred to Palisde?" Argi asked. She'd never heard that before.

"What's a Palisde?" Luz asked.

"They're a type of demon, the oldest in the isles, they predate the demise of the Titan, they live incredibly long lives and they are some of, if not the best magic users of all. They're especially skilled with invisibility and finding what doesn't want to be found, they're perception is excellent and it's rumoured that older ones can see through any spell." Lilith explained.

"I suppose that's why no one wanted to accompany me." Philip said.

Argi glanced around, she felt watched. She spotted a very soft silver-gray glow around the corner, it vanished quickly but she still recognized the shape. Palisde! They are here! She moved in the direction of the Palisde.

"Psst." A soft whisper hit her ears.

"I'd watch out for that human, little one. He's not a good one." She whirled around, the gray silhouette of a Palisde was behind her.

"How do you know that?" She challenged.

"I've been keeping an eye on him, outsiders typically don't come near our sanctuary, when they do, all it takes is a few illusions or mind bending spells and they go running, but he didn't. We want to know what he's here for." They said.

Argi eyed them with distrust.

"Do you not know what's in there?" She asked.

"Oh we do. There's a lot in there, hard to know what he's after or what he'll do with it. I've heard him mumbling about the Collector, they're a kid and annoying sometimes by the way, but, I'm not worried about that. They can't get out of their prison as easily as you might think. And there are guards in there." The Palisde shrugged.

They made themselves visible, well, less hazy and gray, to her. Their gaze flicked to Philip behind her, a dark look twisted their smile into a tight frown.

"That's not his Palisman." They said.

Argi glanced back, sure enough, a Palisman was sitting in the human's sack, next to a blue fang, identical to the demons who'd harrassed him.

"What's in there?" Argi wasn't asking.

"A guard Stone Sleeper. That's how he got the Palisman."

Argi glared at the Palisde, leaning casually against the wall like there was nothing wrong with what they said.

"And you've never stopped him?" She asked.

"That's not my job, besides, Lor told us to stay away from the male human, to avoid interacting with him at all costs and to keep as much about us away from him. Lor really doesn't like him, not surprising, I know many who personally hate his rotting stench." They shrugged again.

Behind her, the humans started talking, the tension grew, she ignored it, curiosity keeping her focused on the Palisde.

"Who are you talking about? Who's Lor?"

Again, she got a stare of disbelief.

"The Titan, well, our Titan, the one we live on anyway, there are others, the one who first made a Palisde is long gone, but they spread how to do it before passing on." They said.

"What?! The Titan made us? What for?" Argi shouted, staring at the Palisde in disbelief.

"There wasn't any reason, they just wanted to make something so they did, and that was our species, they showed it to their friends and how. Then, you know, we mostly took over the creation process. They didn't have a reason for us, they just made us, so we made our own purpose. We are Titan protectors, or we were until that little bitch fucked everything up, we still hear the Titans, not all of us, obviously. Lor told us long ago that there is one Titan left, we're waiting for the hatch day to come so we can start searching for them and bring them home." They said.

Argi stared unblinking at them. It was a lot to process all at once.

She didn't get the chance to as a roar and scream came from behind, she turned just in time to see Lilith being dragged back into the now opened doors by a large claw.

"Lilith!" She shouted.

She ran past the humans arguing, catching how Philip had tricked and used them. If I wasn't on duty I'd flay him. She growled as she darted into the cave. She stopped as the other Palisde grabbed her tail, she glared and released Phoebe.

"Help them, discretely." She ordered, they nodded and flew off to help.

"What are you doing? I have to help Lilith!" She shouted, yanking her tail free of their grip.

"What are you doing? You aren't supposed to go in there, you don't belong here! Not yet!" They shouted back.

Argi stared at them in shock. "How'd you know that?"

"You smell like my sister, Leppi, she uses the Time Pools all the time with her friend, I know that smell. I know you aren't from this time, you smell so out of place, odds are the small human and witch aren't either and odds are, they are going back alive." They told her, a bright flash came from behind them, she could see it reflected in their eyes.

"Shit! He's already gone!" They hissed, running around her into the cave, she followed.

Luz was scratching behind the guard Stone Sleeper's ear, cooing to it softly. Lilith looked relieved, probably that Luz was alive with minimal injuries.

The Palisde walked past them and started doing a check, she assumed.

"Fucking mother of the Titan!" They cursed.

"C'mon, let's go find that Philip jerk." Luz shouted.

Argi glanced at the Palisde, this was the only one she'd ever talked to and she couldn't even get an answer to any of her questions. They noticed her staring and turned with a smile.

"I'll see you again in your time, Nymph..." They trailed off, waiting for her to give her name while raising their hand.

Hesitantly, she took their hand. A jolt went through her body from her bile sacks to her arm, it must've gone to them since they winced.

"Argi. You can call me Argi." She told them.

"A special nickname I suppose?" They raised an eyebrow then laughed.

"Good luck with it, Argi. I'll see you sometime in the future." They let go of her hand, she didn't.

"Wait, how'll I know it's you?" She asked.

"Just call me Cine (A/N: pronounced sin)." They said.

For the third time that day, Argi turned away from someone she wanted to know so much more about to follow Lilith.

So I finally got part of this chapter out, I've been distracted by other stuff and thw new toh episodes, on the plus side, it lead to funner writing/ideas because I know more about toh's story and how I can play with it.

I just finished my last AP test, I'm not going to school tomorrow so maybe some new art will be out by then? Hopefully it's done by Sunday!

Just a heads up, I'm going to stop calling Argeintisum Silver in the non dialogue writing, I'm switching it to Argi, her nickname that only a few people call her, Silver isn't even her name, it's just what Belos has everyone call her. Why I'm switching to Argi and not Argeintisum completely is because Argi is easier to write, besides, her actual name is really only used by Belos when she's in trouble so she associates negative things with it.

The relation to Carlyne Lilith mentioned will be explained later, take a guess if you want!
