not everything spiritual or "weird" is a delusion or delusional attachment (challenge impossible).
But no, seriously, do NOT assume people's spiritual beliefs are delusions and vice versa, do NOT say people's delusions are spiritual.
You do not have the right or consent to reality check people without permission, and people are not "crazy" or "delusional" when they have beliefs that exist outside of proven science.
It drives me CRAZY, that people, especially skeptics, call people terms like "delusional" or call people insults, just because they have different beliefs than you.
You literally are an ableist cunt if you do this shit.

The Dimension Smasher aka The Device™
Time was not on their side, so it was fortunate that the raw materials required for such a grand and troublesome scheme were already on hand in one of Doctor Doom's labs. Building the Device was the easy part. Gold and other precious metals bent to the iron will of Doom, while Richard's attention to details was, as usual, flawless. No way was Victor going to voice that, to actually admit it. Bah!
The hard part was soon to come. Timing was of the essence. There was no margin of error. They had calculated the necessary alignment of the stars, the required date and time. Victor actually considered dragging Stephen Strange into this mess, but reconsidered at the last minute. There simply was no time. Besides, there was no one more invested in the positive outcome of their machinations than Richards. Especially if it meant saving his family. No, the only other person as fervently invested in the results was Victor Von Doom himself!
This meant that failure was never an option. But we all know. We all know how that goes.
----
NOTE: I've got to get better at tagging my shit. This is an ongoing theme in my art for them: Reed Richards is a Horror but the tags are variations on that. #farts and crafts is the most consistenly used tag, if u care 🥹 I will get around eventually into stringing these vignettes together into, idk. Something.

That Broken Promise boys (plus a few extras), ranked by "How traumatized are they?" and "Do they realize and/or admit it?"
More detailed rambling under the cut
Ordon, Minish, Fifi (First Four), and Outset do not, and never had PTSD although they certainly have had traumatizing things happen to them. However, they were all in positions and with support systems where it didn't linger, hence them being pretty fringe because, well. "Coping well" is part of how you avoid that.
Calum is Age of Calamity Link, which I treat as a timeline split that happened during the First Calamity (whose Link is Melem, from my fic Prince of Hyrule. It is technically canon to this series but, well. If you've read the fic, you know why he's not likely to show up.)
Prince had PTSD, and definitely has some lingering symptoms but at this point he's pretty well recovered from it, same as Rabbit. Skyloft, Ravio and Four are about as recovered as their circumstances allow.
If y'all have questions about anyone else, just lemme know! Calum has a fic I'll be doing at some point, but life hit me like a ton of bricks this week.

You guys, there is real evidence that Kamala isn't a Djinn. She is going to be descended from Kree lineage.
And thats because when they mention the bangle, specifically about Kamala's heritage, IT GLOWS. And up until now, it's lit up and shown her a vision of Najma, or the train, or both. I'm sure even when Kamala was saving the shoe thief, that particular pose was familiar to the bangle and thus, Najma appeared.
HOWEVER, when Kamala and Najma actually talk about their home dimension?? All that talk about how they're clandestine, majnoon, etc??? The bangle doesn't light up AT ALL. You would think if Najma is correct, all this talk about needing to go home would cause the bangle to throw sparks etc. But it doesn't because Najma is obviously lying and trying to forge a fake connection with Kamala.
Also, you have to pay attention to the mood and pacing beats of the scenes people talk in. The way Kamala acts when she hears djinn is discomforting and strange, because its meant to be read that way! She's scared of them and she slept with night lights because of it! So why would she suddenly be part djinn? And why weren't they given a proper backstory if that was the case? Instead the very shadey woman who's son kidnaps Kamala explains it to her with very little fanfare and no "glow" at all! Not even a lense flare!
This is all intentional filmmaking to make it feel like the wrong choice, because it IS. Try to understand how the show makes you feel happy and excited one minute and disturbed the next. That's how you tell a story!
Anyway I rest my case.

Not every queer work of art has to be about being queer, however, it's great that some of them are
I just watched The Prince by Abigail Thorn. It's a well done play, and well worth the $4 usd for 1 month of Nebula. It's extremely queer, the acting is very good, and it has lots of fun costumes. The cast is small but diverse. It has subtitles, and they lagged a tiiinnny bit in a couple places for me but mostly were good- I appreciated having them for sure.
The quality of the actual filming is very good in my opinion. It's a small stage so you aren't getting cut off too much when they filmed it, which is nice. That being said, the audience is seated very closely to to the stage and is circling the actors, which makes total sense but I personally found myself getting a bit distracted by them, which isn't really anything they could help with, but it's worth mentioning.
I am not sure if it would be better to be familiar with the play Henry IV Part One before you watch it, I sure wasn't, but I know Shakespeare in the general way a lot of people do and was able to follow the story with relative ease.
I went into it without knowing anything about the plot, so if you're interested in a bit about it, I'll put that below the cut. If you want to go in without spoilers, don't read on!
As the play starts, the audience sees it is a telling of Henry IV Part One by Shakespeare, but shortly after the first scene it's interrupted by two modern trans women, Sam and Jen. Jen is confused about her whereabouts, and Sam explains they are stuck within Shakespeare's body of works.
In order to get out, they must make it to the end of this specific play. Sam, who has been aware of this experience for a longer time, explains that they should play along if the characters ever try to engage with them. Jen does not follow this instruction, however. In fact, she notices that one of the main characters from Henry IV, Harry Percy aka Hotspur is, like them, a trans woman, and wants to invite her to join them in trying to leave.
The show touches heavily on themes of identity and gender, what it means to be playing a certain role, what to do when you no longer want to play that role, etc. It's very overtly queer, and about being queer, and I think it's great for that.
As i said in the title, sure, not ever queer work of art needs to be about being queer. However, some of them can be! it's refreshing to see queer people in queer roles in a queer story. I'd definitely recommend it, if you like plays and queer stories.

heya people!
I’ve officially decided to turn the gloomy character from my recent drawing into a casual oc of mine! unfortunately I have come to somewhat of a predicament though. we appreciate and support lgbtq+ people in this household and I'd love to take the chance of subverting gender-norms on this one...
however I’m not sure if I should give long-haired enbys – non-binary people if you’re unfamiliar with the terminology – or long haired men the representation, because they both need it for sure! if you have any arguments for one or the other please tell me, as I’ve been pondering this for a few days now and can't come to a conclusion lol
the character's name is Naren Thorne for now, since it seems 'Naren' can be considered both a male and gender neutral first name. I’d love to hear your ideas and opinions!
as a compromise I could also make them a demiboy, although the word "boy" doesn't really fit the character. if you know any alternatives that are more fitting to a character with an intimidating presence please let me know :>

EVERY SINGLE DAY there are MILLIONS of characters in their late 20s who get falsely accused of being father figures to teenagers when in reality the description of "weird older cousin" or "step-sibling that moved out before you were born" is 1000000x more apt

neuvillette is aware that he shouldn’t have let you get so close. but he did, and now he’s lamenting the fact that your hands are grasping at his soft horns — his fucking horns, of all places — and he might like it.
uptight and strait-laced, you’ve never known the chief justice to be someone so easily flustered. yet here he is with heat crawling up his neck, so warm that you can feel it against your palms as they ghost over his skin.
you can’t help but laugh at his current situation.
he was vehemently against you coming anywhere near his hair at first, grumbling about how his horns were on the sensitive side and he would rather not have to go into work feeling uncomfortably aware of their presence on his head.
however, you were hard to deny with that little smile on your face and such soft hands grabbing at his arms, tugging him closer. a sweet voice chanting, "please, honey? pretty please?"
neuvillette has never been good at denying you what you want.
it’s how he ends up sitting at your shared vanity. you comb through his long hair, watching him with amusement in the mirror as he huffs and jolts with every brush of your fingers against his horns.
the fact that he was letting you get anywhere near them was surely a testament to his trust in you. he was completely vulnerable here, at your mercy.
“sorry,” you mumble disingenuously, clearly enjoying seeing your usually serious husband falling apart with a simple action. you quickly tie off the end of his hair with a bow and he sighs in relief, thinking that the torment is over.
it's far from over.
he draws a sharp breath when you lean forward and press two gentle kisses on him; one on either side of his head just beside his horns.
neuvillette glowers at you in the reflection, disapproval written all over his face. "stop that," he scolds.
you do, but only because you're worried he might melt into a puddle before your very eyes if you continue.
it becomes a daily routine after that, with him sitting patiently in front of the mirror while you brush and tie off his hair. and you always end it the same way: two kisses, a soft "have a good day at work," murmured against him, and a mischievous little smile that makes him sigh.
he responds everyday with the same two words. "stop that," with a narrow-eyed glare.
the day you do stop, he's confused and irritated.
not only because you have the audacity to throw a wrench into routine again, which you know he hates, but also because he can't figure out why he misses your lips so much.
"what are you doing? i am going to be late."
"hm?" you peer up lazily from your spot on the bed, still half asleep.
"you have to do my hair."
"i thought you didn't want me to, so i slept in today."
your husband is eerily silent for a moment as he mulls over your words. then, he carefully perches himself on the edge of the bed, back turned to you expectantly and still wordless.
no, he would never admit he likes it just a little bit — the vulnerability, the trust, the feeling of your hands threading through his hair, the intimacy of it. hell no.
but neuvillette doesn't have to say a lot of things for you to understand; not when the way his skin heats up says it all; not when you're the first person to touch his horns in centuries; not when he’s saying stop that with such an affectionate glimmer in his eyes.
you give him four kisses that morning, two on either side.

It's been said before, it will be said again, but it's still worth saying: the fact that art centering on straight romance is allowed to just be bad, but art with queer romance in it always has to be indicative of A Serious Problem With the Way We Tell Queer Stories makes being a queer person making queer art deeply stressful
