Tbh I think Karl is straight and a gray-ace or something. He said himself that he flirts with his guy friends because he’s confident in his sexuality and the fact that he won’t fall in love with them on accident like he would by play-flirting with girls, and I believe it. Thoughts on Cuba

Well, this is a hard post to write because I don’t want to confuse the difficulties of our trip with my feelings about Cuba the country and her people. But like China I feel it was an important trip to make for my understanding of the world. Maybe the best place to start is in the middle. We are driving to Trinidad from Havana with Joe our very friendly Cuban chauffeur/guide in his ancient belair with bench seats, worn shocks and no ac in humid 85 degree heat. We are about 5 hours into a 4 ½ hour drive and are halfway there. After our typical Cuban lunch of chicken, shrimp, rice and beans in playa giron we decide to visit the bay of pigs museum. We confront our total ignorance of this part of our country’s history and this bizarre chapter. Early 1961, Kennedy had just assumed office–did Ike plan it? (Yes but Kennedy had to approve it.) Was this part of Cuban missile crisis? No that was later. Why covert? And so badly planned. Historians will debate forever? And more to the point Why? What right did we have to invade Cuba? Then Carlo asks me if I’ve noticed Joes tshirt? No I replied. Check it out. It says “Hate the US because they hate US Oops. To be continued
