Heeey, asking for help.

Did anyone live in Massachusetts or Maine (in New England) around 2010?

If so, do you remember going to an indoor amusement park?

Particularly a chuck-e-cheese-esque, creepy one with an indoor train ride?

This thing has haunted my brain for years. I went to one all the time as part of a mini-vacation. The one I'm thinking about was in a gray building off a big highway, and its walls were black in the inside, with stuff painted on them. There was an indoor train ride and carousel, I think. There were animatronics, too, the sort of things that inspired Five Nights at Freddies.

I know this place exists, I know it in the back of my mind, but I doubt it's still open. Anyone else know this place?

Maybe it's the 90s kid in me talking, and maybe it's just this particular location that sucks, but Chuck E. Cheese is kinda depressing these days

#this location has a generic screen projecting cheaply animated music videos instead of the creepy animatronics #which i think added the charm to going to Charles Entertainment Cheese #they dont do tokens anymore which yes very boomer of me to say but i do think that the #special tokens with Chucks face on it again added charm and held a special memory if you kept a bunch like i did #this location doesn't have the huge indoor playplace with tubes and slides and stairs everywhere #granted im kinda glad they dont have a ball pit because i dont want ny two year old contracting pink eye right now #but the indoor playplace was the highlight of going outside of the games imo #i dont know i just feel like this location is kinda lame but at least there is still rides that Addie can ride and enjoy #which is the point of coming here in the first place

Haru's Velvet Room is a greenhouse and the more friendships she builds/powers she unlocks/etc the more flowers blossom and grow. it's just a spin on how every protag's Velvet Room reflects their situation and how in this universe, Haru is the one responsible for the propagation of progress to win against ol' Yaldy!

i’m so mad there’s not really such thing as a playplace for grownups. all little kids have to do is get somebody to take them to a mcdonald’s or a park like 15 minutes from their house and boom it’s playground paradise, meanwhile if you’re a 25 year old kid like me i’m expected to be happy with forking out the cashola to go to a whole theme park or pay for a rock climbing gym subscription like whee how fun. a workout routine and an empty wallet. and it’s NOT the same thing as going to the park when it’s nice and quiet out and swinging on the swings or playing hide and seek in the restaurant play area after a delicious cheap burger dinner with the caramel apple slices.

i know it’s probably not in the cards for me but if i ever get the money for it i want a big house with a playground in the backyard and an indoor playroom inside too and i’ll invite all my friends over to play with me :)

Concept sketch for the "Playtime Express", the iconic indoor playplace for Jolly's Toy Store and the most frequent spot for both children and adults to find their way into Jolly Junction.

The signature feature of every Jolly's Toy Store. Designs and layouts vary between stores, but otherwise every Playtime Express play area is themed around locomotives and features a fiberglass Jolly statue. A "Jolly Cafe" was originally planned to accompany the Playtime Express, where customers could purchase readily-made food and snacks such as popcorn, pretzels, cookies, juice, and the "Jolly Dog", but due to budget restraints was never constructed (although a Jolly Cafe playset is included in the official Jolly's Toy Store merchandise line). In spite of this, several online forums and Reddit threads dedicated to topics of nostalgia contain posts remarking on the Playtime Express and its "distinct smell of candy, mustard, and popcorn butter".

Customer feedback regarding the Playtime Express have been largely positive, as it allows parents to leave their children in a safe place to play while they shop. Most criticisms stem from hygiene concerns caused by children leaving messes behind in the play area, although several reports claim that parents found their children running out of the play area frightened and upset, claiming they had "gotten lost" inside the Playtime Express for hours or even days at a time, despite them last being seen only minutes earlier. Others have claimed to have left their children at the Playtime Express only to find them asleep in another area of the store far away from the play area, including the "employee's only" storeroom. When questioned, the wayward children claimed they were just "tired from playing with Jolly Giraffe all day". Adults who have had similar incidents in their childhood have little recollection of what exactly occurred between being dropped off and being found later.

Since its opening in 1955, hundreds of adults have gone missing with their last known whereabouts being Jolly's Toy Store, but all investigations  have found no causation between the store and the disappearances. J.G. Inc. has made no comment on this phenomenon.
