Jjk men Bf head-cannons
Note: pure fluff, Sfw Characters included: Gojo, Geto, and sukuna
Tumblr media
Satoru Gojo
Gojo will send you tonssss of voice messages talking about literally anything. He’ll be on his couch laying down and he’ll send you a voice message about how the show he’s watching is so boring. “The female lead doesn’t even have any personality and is just there to make the male lead look good!” You’ll complain to him sometimes that he send too many of these voice messages but, he responds that it couldn’t be true because, you love the sound of his voice. (And to be fair you do listen to every one he sends.)
Gojo cannot cook for the life of him. Anytime you try to teach him something wrong will always happen. For example you tired showing him how to make spaghetti and meatballs which is simple enough, right? Wrong. Because Gojo, not only ended up burning the pasta (somehow which still boggles your mind to this day) but, the meatballs weren’t exactly balls… They were certainly meat, and they tasted like meatballs but… they were only shaped to say the least.
Gojo definitely spoils you. And anytime you try to tell him he's doing too much he’ll come up with an excuse for why buying you a 180.00 skirt was necessary. “Well I had to get it, it was the last one and it’d work perfectly for that Christmas party we're attending!” To clarify he was talking about, the Christmas party that was three months away. Of course in all fairness you wouldn't complain too much… It would look pretty nice on you.
Suguru Geto
Even the smallest gestures he does for you are full of thought. Whenever you're having a long day at work you'll usually text Geto about your frustrations. He's trying to be supportive as you rant and help you calm down. When you get home you’ll be welcome to a newly cleaned apartment and Geto in the kitchen finishing up making your favorite meal for dinner. When he sees your home he’ll immediately start talking to you “I’ll finish up here soon, how are you feeling?” The rest of night would end up being him taking care of you fully making you forget about work entirely.
This mf definitely remembers the small things within your relationship and he’ll remember things about you no one else will. For instance you disliked when people surprised you from behind. It wasn’t anything that majorly bugged you but, it made you feel uncomfortable. (Especially since you weren’t a huge fan of being touched) When Geto found this out when we you guys were out in public or hanging with a group of friends he’d always stay slightly behind you. When you questioned why he did this, he said it was so he could make sure no one will surprise you like that. Even though you insisted he didn’t have to he still did which you couldn’t help but love him even more for.
Sukuna
He’s possessive, like really possessive. (He swears he’s not though). Anytime your in public around people or not he’ll make it clear your his. Whether that’s an arm around your waist or being very intimate with you even if it’s not the most appropriate… Whenever it’s at places such as a club it’ll be even worse, not only will be touchy but his whole mind and body will be focused on you. (Even if he doesn’t realize it..) And that’s the thing he doesn’t realize he’s like that infact anytime you bring it up to him he swears you’re just overthinking things. Because, him, Sukuna being possessive over another person? Fucking ridicules. Totally not in denial.
One thing you wouldn’t expect from Sukuna would be him to be rather supportive of you and your decisions. Of course it wasn’t exactly the most traditional way people are supportive. But hey, it’s Sukuna nothing about him is ‘normal’. Sukuna is supportive in the way where you’ll feel insecure about wearing and he’ll give you a confused look. “Why the hell would yah not wear it?” Flushed you respond. “It makes me look bad like-“ “I don’t know what you’re on about I like how it looks on you so you’re wearing it.” And of course you weren’t going to argue with your bf so, you wear it. Throughout the day He’ll make comments about how good you look which make you blush. Of course it isn’t exactly the lovely dovey kind of comments but still.

True Form!Sukuna x Fem!Afab!Reader (This is an AU!!! Sukuna is not a homicidal maniac cannibalistic murderer! I think he’s sexy and my morals say no dick from crazy murderer BUT dick from crazy 😍)
Cw: mentions of violence from previous chapter, body image issues mentioned, sukuna is kinda an asshole
Description: You've been friends with Yuji Itadori for some time now and have seen the best, the worst, and the strange in all your years of knowing him. You've never thought he was one to have any crazy secrets and well... you were wrong. And now the demon bound to Yuji is bound to you too! How fun! Good thing that you aren't stupid and won't fall for a being that by no means should you have ever interacted with! Right? Right...?
*despite this being an aged up version of yuji, there will be no sexual stuff involving him, also the violence is only in the first chapter with a few mentions after that!!! Cross posted on Ao3 under Spicycrunchroll! THERE WILL BE LOTS OF SMUT LATER ON!*
Chapter 1 here (chapters will also get much longer once the plot is moving)
Tumblr media
Chapter 2: Pain in the Ass
So now you smell like piss, vape juice, cum, tears, and malicious horror in the front of your best friend's car. Nothing about anything is normal right now and as much as you wanted to know about the monster in the back seat, you were still in shock from almost being trafficked and also knowing that the monster brutally attacked the men that were attacking you. They might have deserved it, but it’s not exactly the most enjoyable experience for you. You looked into the rear view mirror and could see the monster glaring out the window, seemingly bored and watching the lights of the city as Yuji sped to your home.
Yuji broke the silence. “He’s bound to me. Cuz of some family curse. He’s been sealed for a long time, but I reawakened him. You can see him now, right?” The last sentence sounded almost worried.
Your throat ached from sobbing. “Yeah.”
Yuji’s face was pale and drooping. “I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’ll help you when we get home.”
You closed your eyes and another tear spilled. You attempted to shift away from the thoughts of what just happened to you, “Thank you. I’m not going to ask about him too much, right now it’s all a lot to process, but what… is he?”
Sukuna huffed from the back seat, shifting ever so slightly. “I’m a demon. You can ask me.”
“Hey!” Yuji called out. “Don’t talk to her like that after all of what she just went through.”
Sukuna sighed and remained silent, turning his eyes to look at you and fixating on the outline of your face. “I’m no threat to her."
Yuji didn't respond, instead he focused on driving home, not knowing exactly what to say to you. You didn't know what to say either, your mind racing back and forth between the traffickers, the man you went out with, and the demon in the back seat. Even though you wanted to find anything else to talk about, you couldn't help but be curious about him. You tried to eye him through the rearview mirror, looking at his features. If it wasn't for his intimidating and inhuman appearance, you'd think he was pretty hot, and he also looked a lot like Yuji. Much larger than Yuji, and much much larger than Yuji. He has to slump down in his seat and his legs are pressed against the back of your seats, he easily takes up half the space in the back of the car, and on top of that, he's built like a wrestler. You couldn't help but stare at him, taking in the features of the more monstrous side of his face. Sukuna certainly notices your stare, but says nothing of it. Under normal circumstances, he'd tease but he's not exactly interested with upsetting you more. After your stare lingers on him long enough, he meets your eyes in the mirror and you quickly look away, an shiver running up your body. He couldn't help but smirk at your reaction.
When you arrived at your apartment, Yuji insisted on holding onto as you wandered inside together, along with Sukuna following closely behind. You didn't ask about him even when he followed the both of you inside, standing to the side of the living room while you and Yuji wandered to your bathroom. After what felt like a century, you removed your soiled clothes and tossed them directly into the trash, not wanting to wear them ever again. You didn't even care that he saw you strip naked, he didn't even care either, he was more focused on the fact that he's gonna have to find some way to explain what just happened and what that might mean for you. You didn't have an inkling of what he was thinking about or what had even happened to make Sukuna suddenly visible to you and Yuji wasn't very excited to explain it to you.
After showering and sobbing for almost another hour, you finally left the bathroom to get dressed, your eyes avoiding the mirror as you rushed to get dressed, disgusted by your own body. You opened bedroom door and went out to see Yuji who was dead silent on the couch. Sukuna had moved from the door and was now looking through your fridge. He paid no mind to your presence even as you gaped at him rummaging through your food, Yuji noticed your expression and turned to Sukuna.
"Don't just eat her shit!" He sounded exasperated as though he had this conversation before.
Sukuna groaned. "You humans and your decorum. Drives me insane." He shut your fridge but took out sandwich meat and started to eat directly from the packaging.
"Um. You can get bread and cheese." You said, making both of them stop moving. "Did I say something wrong?"
Sukuna started to laugh. "Here the brat was, concerned you'd be upset I'm stealing your food." The mouth on his stomach also stretched into a smile before opening up and he dumped the rest of the lunch meat directly into it, making you gape even wider. "That's enough for now." He stepped out of your kitchen and immediately went to the recliner in the room and sat down, watching your face.
Yuji sighed again and gestured for you to sit down. "Listen, y/n. I have something I need to tell you now. I know you have a lot on your mind, but I don't just wanna tiptoe around." Yuji swallowed, looking down at the floor.
Sukuna seemed to be already annoyed before Yuji even started started talking, groaning dramatically. "Do I need to tell her? Spit it out."
He quickly quipped back, "I'm telling her!"
Sukuna rolled his eyes and sunk back into the recliner which now looks significantly smaller with him seated on it. You shifted your gaze back to Yuji and waited for him to speak. "What is it? Can't be any worse than what we just went through."
"His name is Ryomen Sukuna. Or at least that's the name that was given to him. He's a demonic spirit of the past that became bound to my family a long ass time ago, but after the first person he was bound to died, he was sealed away, but then one day, I was fucking around with some shit that was passed on to me and... well... next thing I knew he was sitting on my bed." He looked to your face for a reaction, but all you could muster was a stare. He took that as a sign to continue. "Sukuna is bound to me and as a result of me asking him to save you, he's bound to you now."
You blinked a few times before speaking. "What? What does that mean?"
Yuji looked to Sukuna then back to you. "Well, for one, you can see him. And now you can interact with him freely. Sukuna can interact with whatever he wants, just not whoever. Because of his bindings to my ancestor, he can only do certain things, like for instance, he can't hurt someone unless given a direct command. And the reason he is bound to you and not the guys he attacked is because of the way he had to save you. You see, the guy who first orchestrated your kidnapping was also bound to a demon and this demon was--"
"A pain in the ass." Sukuna interrupted. "A pitiful excuse of one too. A manipulative bastard that made a vow they regret now." Sukuna had leaned forward, looking at you with all four eyes. "By killing the bastard, I ended up creating a vacant binding and the weakling decided to reflect the binding back onto me. Luckily, the stupid shit didn't know how to do the spell properly so I was able to choose who I had to make a vow with. I don't desire to be commanded around by anyone else and thankfully, you aren't the type to demand others."
You didn't say anything in response to him, he's right. If you had the courage to boss anyone around, you wouldn't have slept with all the one pump chumps and found yourself in the situation you did. Yuji, on the other hand, was pissed that he said that to you.
"What the hell? She was literally kidnapped and almost sex trafficked, what the fuck is wrong with you!?" Yuji shouted and Sukuna had no expression.
The demon cocked his head to the side and rested it on his hand. "I didn't say anything hurtful. She's more docile than the other assholes who were in the proximity."
You rose from the couch and Yuji panicked, before he could say anything you reassured him. "He didn't hurt my feelings. Don't worry. I want to go to bed."
Yuji got up to follow. "Do you need me to sleep with you?"
Swallowing a tightness in your throat, you answered. "Could you?"
"Of course!"
Sukuna watched the two of you retreat to your bedroom and couldn't help but wonder why you stopped the conversation so soon. He isn't fond of the situation himself, when he went after the man that kicked you out of his house, he was hoping it'd be a quick return to sender and was beyond angered when he was faced with one of his own. Few demons have the audacity to openly manipulate humans, let alone the pride. He was grateful they weren't a human and was able to get rid of them, but wasn't pleased with the fact that now he has a new "owner". Truthfully, the whole situation left him scowling and exceptionally eager to release his frustrations. The humans that tried to apprehend you were foolish to ally themselves with such a cunt of a demon, but even more foolish to try and steal a human for the sake of a demon's orders. Really, Sukuna leaving one of them without the ability to speak ever again and the other with a few shattered bones was a blessing. The ones that attacked Yuji should be grateful that Itadori was compassionate enough to leave them only with some broken limbs as well. Sukuna's takes no thrill in fighting the weak and barely takes any enjoyment in other's suffering, in fact, compared to most demons, he finds it boring. And here he is, stuck with the most boring people he could have as masters, at least Itadori's ancestor was a fighter himself and sought strength similar to Sukuna. Then again, he reminds himself, at least Itadori and you are stupid enough to be funny.
Sukuna sighed to himself and looked out the window of your apartment, he's going to have an overwhelmingly uneventful life with being bound to both of you. Here he was, so ecstatic to be awoken once again, just to have to watch a shitty college romance between two brats and now watch your pathetic and sad life. At least amp up the drama if he's stuck as a bystander! Well, he wishes for that, but unbeknownst to him is that he already has plenty of drama for himself approaching at high speed now that you're in his life, as he is in yours.

Imagine: Satoru Gojo trying to win your affections (Satoru Gojo x y/n)
Pairing: Satoru Gojo x y/n (you)
Genre: fluff, romance
Warning: few curses
- Satoru Gojo was your classmate, and the moment he saw you, he was dead set on making you his girlfriend
- he would ask you out at least once a week, and every time you would refuse
- y/n-chaaaan, why do always says ‘’no”?
- Gojo… we don’t even know each other
- que to Gojo being really confused because usually his good looks were enough for every other girl he flirted with
- but getting to know each other? well, that’s new
- but he doesn’t have objections, you are stunning and even tho he saw you as someone more on the introverted side, he knew you got some spice in you, and he would gladly have a taste of it
- you were such an interesting person
- but then you got transferred to learn and later, to work overseas
***
- after years of no contact, and not seeing each other…
- you see, your technique was unique, as it was called „SOUL GROUNDING” – you could exchange places of the soul withing the same or different bodies and ground them in the moment of death for few more minutes – how strong the technique results were, depended on how powerful the bending spirit was (working better as a suprise attack)
- but this alone made you a perfect „card” if Sukuna was to take over Yuji body (at least in the early stages of his ‘’possession”)
- the second side of your technique made you really useful when it comes to interrogation – bounding the soul to the body in the moment of death
- once he sees you again…well fuck, you were the most beautiful person even back then, but now? you were soo pretty he could cry
- number one simp for you
- and he was right, you were a devil in disguise with your unusual power and combat skills, you literary played with death
- describes you as devil’s coin – you were as deadly as sweet, two sides
- calls you sweetheart
- introduces you to kids at school as „his future wife”
- gives you tons of compliments
- aaand back to teasing (god, he loves when you blush and gets speechless) and asking you on a date
- lot’s more personal questions – as it was stated before, he wants to know you better
- gets kind of turned on when you are bossy and serious
- constant messages when you are not in his presence, even to the point when you will get his shirtless photo with annotation: ,,Does this not tempt you?”
- and this one time when you were alone, his eyes visible but focused only on you, your expressions, he asked all serious:
- Are you going to ever agree to go out with me?
You looked at him, a little surprised. Nibbled at your bottom lip and thought about how to explain it and not hurt him. He always seemed confident, but you know that part of this was fabricated.
You sighted and started with:
- Satoru…
- fuck, that was first time when you called him by the first name, and it was the sweetest torture
- Satoru… I do find you attractive but… I just… You tease me a lot and give me all this attention, you did even back when we were younger, and sometimes I enjoy this, I do because it’s really flattering and sweet of you, but… sometimes it’s too much. I don’t want to be rude, it’s amazing how much energy you have. You may don’t know or don’t notice, but… - you sighted once again. – I’m really, really tired sometimes and need space. This job is drowning me, it may also be the consequences of my technique, because I feel like even my own soul is aching… I’m just tired. I enjoy you, your humor, I know you would make me happy. Then on the other side I think we just don’t fit, and I would bore you – you looked at him with those sad, guilty eyes and regret swimming just over the surface.
- Gojo can admit and know, he can be a little too much sometimes and looking at you closely you did look tired and resigned
- I’m sorry, y/n-chan, I just want you for myself, I want your attention and your time, I just want you, all of you. I would try and…
- Satoru I don’t want you to change, I think you are fine just the way you are… We just don’t fit-
- Don’t say it again, because you are wrong, we do fit, I believe it… so if you at least have a little hope for us, if you at least find me attractive or are a little curious how we can be, then give me a chance and let me prove it, we will work on this together.
His word were genuine, full of purpose and promise, yet his eyes full of adoration
- you just had to agree
- because even if you didn’t show it, you have also fallen for him but didn’t give into the feelings believing he deserved someone better, someone who would love him fully as he is
- but loving someone isn’t always looking for ‘’ the perfect fit” sometimes it’s just being someone who is open for changes, and would put effort to make things work
- sometimes, those imperfections are things we would simply adore with time
- so y/n let him love you, and let yourself love

The subconscious, the soul, and the body...
It’s an understatement to say that the links and concepts between these are complicated / complex within the jjk world.
I’m just going to write about what I understand so far, and if anyone else has theories or a deeper understanding of it, please drop me a comment or reblog with your own thoughts. I’m open to discourse!
The rest is just largely focused on Gojo and Geto - exploring how their subconscious, soul and body may have been affected by their relationship.
What was meant to be short has gone into theorising territory as I attempt to make sense of things. I am Satosugu / SuguSato indulgent.
(Ps: I don’t discriminate over who tops/bottoms or if they even do it at all. Soulmates don’t necessarily need to copulate as far as I'm concerned).
Be warned and afraid.
It’s a real whopper of an essay by the way. If that’s not your thing, please just skim or pass - or stay for the parts you want to read and do it in multiple sittings if it gets too much.
Can you imagine what it’s like living in my brain? Ha! It’s too much for me too, hence, the info dump.
Sharing here, as I think some people enjoy reading about them too.
NOT spoiler-free. More under the cut (o^^o)
In my brainrot, the cogs start turning and sometimes 2 becomes what looks like 4 and I just have to get it out - you know the drill. Word vomit. If you’ve clicked, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay with my obsessive brainrot, tangents, love for Gojo and Geto.
A bit on the Soul, the Body, Sub/Consciousness, and Cursed Techniques - skip this part if it’s boring:
So, based on what we have been told, Mahito believes he can see the soul, and that the body & soul are separate. For humans, souls can linger after death but upon rebirth, curses and humans alike will not know one another nor will they retain memories.
“Lingering after death” might be relevant to “north and south” too, but we don’t know with certainty what the afterlife in jjk looks like. North seems to mean rebirth - to become “someone new” - that is assuming Mei Mei is right.
Being sealed in an object (like Sukuna) is different to being in another body (Kenjaku and Tengen), and being in a binding vow/curse also changes depending on the nature of the contract, and being reborn is largely different to the rest because it seems to denote that the soul resets its memories at the very least.
Worth noting that I’m not clear on whether the spirit is different to the soul as well. They could be synonymous to some degree, but I think a spirit has the essence of a soul (indicating consciousness), and I define something with a soul to be at least a creature (with a physical body) or entity (metaphorical form).
In Toji’s resurrection case, his body is so strong from Heavenly Restriction, that it overpowers the soul of the host - Toji thus kills granny. His soul information wasn’t brought back, but some information must’ve been carved into it for it to retain… something. This something included parts where his body recognised Megumi as someone significant enough and attacked itself. (One has to ask if this is a parallel with Geto in no less than fewer than 10 chapters earlier, where his hand moved - more on this later.) Based on this, the body is separate to the soul but information can be written into it. And like the soul, a body can also be brought back through cursed technique.
OR, another interpretation is like as Kenjaku hypothesised - the body and soul are one. And if granny’s cursed technique is just summoning information, and when the soul and body are very linked like in Toji’s case, they both manifest - as in the body is so strong it pulls his soul along with it. I’m speculating. It could equally be soul information carved into the body (I’m leaning more to this interpretation).
Where curse techniques are concerned… For Yaga, he can extract the soul from the body - insinuating they are also not one and the same. And it’s not just information because the soul exists within what becomes a special grade cursed object. Multiple souls in panda’s case.
And cursed techniques themselves seem to be bound to the body for some - as in Geto’s case where Kenjaku can utilise his as well as his own techniques (along with those of his previous vessels)... however, with Sukuna and his vessels? Soul. Yuta with his copy technique - these are existing without the body or soul as this is his curse technique I guess. Reincarnated sorcerers bring their skills along with their souls too. And domains are supposedly tied to the soul. Geto was not shown to have one (but jjk 0 was created at a time where domains never existed) and if he did, Kenjaku did not have access to to it, unless the theory that the Womb Profusion is real.
Yuji could meet with Megumi's soul buried deep in his own body shared with Sukuna, that was now sunken in due to the bath of evil and killing of his sister. He also has the ability to shake a person's soul through his punches. So the soul seems to be something that can reside within a vessel and be touched through powers / ability.
Gojo was shown to be able to “see” something akin to Megumi’s soul, but this wasn’t depicted for when he saw pseudoGeto, despite the light novel saying he was constantly “staring at the shape of his soul” as he flew off on his pelican spirit. His physicality (six eyes) all but confirmed it was Geto. It was his soul that said otherwise - and it was enough to refute his six eyes. And Kenjaku believes the body & soul are one and the same, thus, confirming Gojo’s six eyes.
Or maybe Gojo can’t quite see souls? We haven’t been explicitly told. Did he see souls everywhere in that case? A part of me suspects Gege retconned this “seeing of the soul” for his fight with Sukuna, but I might be wrong. We saw the same blurry image as a representation of the soul with his six eyes, but this theory doesn’t hold up when we consider how he met with Geto at the airport.
The afterlife scene in ch236 shows their souls / consciousness somewhere at an airport (it is not known if they are merely greeting Gojo or have been there awaiting his arrival). This shows us also that they are separate. The soul has gone somewhere: Cursed realm or an Afterlife are the possibilities presented to us... because they haven’t reincarnated. Going nowhere doesn’t seem likely in the jjk world as they talk incessantly about souls and how they can be resurrected in one form or another.
For the sorcerer Geto fought with his Shiba doggy in HI - it was a fantasy of sorts - and is similar to the space between “curse and reality” that Kenjaku talked about with Sasaki. So it could be a cursed realm. And then Gojo smirking when Sukuna was giving his after-battle “send off”… did that indicate the body and soul could be one & the same? Is the afterlife a fantasy? It was a death dream? (Ah, idk how I feel about this, but again, the jjk world believes in souls).
It is so confusing. I know Gege likes the whole “there is no ultimate truth” but making this topic “up to individual interpretation” is really mind-boggling.
But Mahito and Kenjaku end up agreeing that they must be different based on technique. Maybe this is Gege’s retcon lol. Like how he created limitless and then got some people with the knowledge of physics to explain it retroactively?
I guess the manga readers needed a bit more real-world explanation once it got traction, which is understandable. But equally, some things may just need to exist as they are in fiction and unexplainable based on earthly morals or boundaries by the laws of physics and biology as we understand it.
It is possible that it’s just all dependent on curse technique, which makes Yuta’s copy possible without the body, the creation of Sukuna fingers allowing the transcendence of skills and soul without the body, Kenjaku to access soul-information (like memories) without the brain (as well as utilise the cursed technique), and for exceptions to occur, like Megumi and Yuji both accommodating the soul of another entity in their body. How some entities (sorcerer and cursed spirit alike) can touch souls - or even for cursed spirits to take on more human-like existences - implying they, too, can evolve and become a soul. Like humans evolving to become sorcerers (if they can).
And with a technique like cursed spirit manipulation, once a human’s soul is unable to exist in its physical body, the person will die unless they are like tengen with a curse technique that allows its soul to be removed - as as its form weakens… what happens to the soul if a creature / entity / being becomes more spirit than a human, where someone like Geto / pseudoGeto / Kenjaku can absorb it? I suspect they are exorcised, and they live as Pokémon-like shikigami spirits that have no soul?
We know those like Naoya can become cursed spirits, and Rika’s soul can ascend into somewhere leaving a shikigami spirit behind, so this tells us there are various levels of existence and consciousness - like a hierarchy of sorts with the soul being the most pure / transcendent. It makes sense based on my Buddhist understanding too, but who knows what exists in the jjk world. I’m just trying to make sense of it all...
And of course as I write this, ch.257 just dropped and Kenjaku bloody managed to create Yuji in a completely different era after somehow accurately discovering the reincarnated soul of Sukuna’s twin that was absorbed by him in the womb?!? 🤯 Gets pregnant as Kaori and manages to birth Yuji who could have been by luck or by design, inherited his father’s old soul’s Cursed Technique? So since Cursed Technique can manifest despite completely different DNA, it’s possible for one to assume that the Cursed Technique may be bound to the soul rather than the body… or at least for Kenjaku’s technique, he can create it within the body. or the soul?
What. The. Actual. Heck. And what happened to papa Yuji?
My brain starts to go bananas.
So souls can be split into twins if the egg splits into two (Maki & Mai and Sukuna & his twin (reincarnated into papa Yuji), and can reincarnate. But are considered one. But one can reincarnate separately. 🤯
And on reincarnation: Was the previous six eyes & limitless user Gojo before reincarnation, and does that mean that there won’t be another six eyes + limitless user since Gojo chose to go South? Especially since only one can exist in the world at any given time. Did Mai's spirit join up with Maki, or did she reincarnate?
It would make sense if the series is leading us to a conclusion whereby there is a new world where sorcerers don't exist anymore and all these OP beings like Sukuna, Kenjaku, and skills like the six eyes and limitless, cursed spirit manipulation, cursed speech, or copy aren't being reincarnated in the jjk world as it is now - by choice of the users. If Gojo and others all decide to stay in wherever they wish in the afterlife (pockets of reality wherever they may be), then the human world and the sorcerer world and the cursed spirit world will all exist separately.
But I honestly don't know if that's a good ending. It wouldn't make for very good storytelling? And all it would take was for a soul to get bored and wish to be reincarnated. So too many loopholes.
I mean, I could go deeper into speculating, but I really just wanna focus on the impact on Gojo and Geto for now...
More within the Satosugu / Sugusato context. Read here for it, or skip if it’s boring:
It seems romantic for those who have enjoyed the meme... “would we know each other in another life?”
Especially if these two were made to be counterparts. Anyway, moving on to what we see in the jjk world.
Those who like this pairing probably know these scenes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take it how you will. It’s rather evocative and indicative of a strong bond. If you’ve read some of my other analyses, you’ll know I feel that in the jjk world: To love is to recognise / know the other, even if they presented themselves differently. To love is to long for them, and to yield - something - whether it is a power or a sacrifice, for another.
Love shapes and forms a reason. Meaning. Purpose. It does something to the subconscious. It affects and alters a person and their soul. And even without the subconscious or the soul, one’s body can react.
Some of this will be my personal interpretation but it remains canon that Gojo’s soul recognised it wasn’t Geto with Kenjaku inhabiting him. Gojo didn’t want to kill Geto but he did in the end partly because Geto wanted him to. Maybe a part of him always wanted Gojo to, which is why it/he was a curse only Gojo could bear - the responsibility to kill him was always Gojo’s.
Gojo always had Geto in the palm of his hand. Neither acted to tip the strange unspoken balance they had where no lines were crossed until Geto declared war. Geto didn’t want to pull Gojo into his broken-down world in an attempt to attack the roots of the problems in the curse-filled world. Gojo attempted to reform the jujutsu world for a long time whilst holding it up within the institution as he knew it, hoping to make room for Geto should he wish to be saved. Yeah we know he really didn’t want saving in that way... he was too busy trying to save the ones he deemed worthy by eradicating the sinners, evolve those with potential and annihilate the weak. If he was weak he deserved to be killed.
Both longed for the other but could never quite be honest with one another. I headcanon that the words, “if I could be you” were thought about more than once by each of them. That’s why Geto said it and tried to be strong, and Gojo wanted to reform the world through eduction. They swapped fortes because they lost the other on the paths they walked on. They needed each other but fate had a different plan.
They didn’t know how to bridge the gap that had formed between them until many years later. Ultimately, despite their differences, they shared the same ideals and were designed to be counterparts. There was always a space for the other in their hearts.
In those two scenes, I wondered for a while: what was Gege’s point of depicting Gojo switching back to “ore” (in reference to himself - a nuance that cannot be translated into English from its original context within the Japanese culture) for two brief moments. What does it imply about their connection? How do we understand the levels of their “counterpart-ness”? Soulmatism. Romanticism. Whatever you want to call it.
And even pseudoGeto’s body reacting to Gojo’s voice calling out to Suguru. Nothing much ever came from it, and the conversation Mahito and Kenjaku had about the soul hasn’t been expanded on since (to my knowledge). So what was Gege getting at? What are we meant to understand? Back then, it maybe served as an unresolved issue - that Geto may need to have been rescued if his soul was trapped. But now that we saw him at the airport... we can all collectively breathe a sigh of relief - unless it was just a death dream. Then we can collectively cry.
So let’s go back to their connection. We know that Gojo and Geto were practically bonded and changed by being each others’ “one and only”. However you interpret their love is up to you, but it is undeniable that there is something unique and irreplaceable shared between them.
Tumblr media
It was Mimiko and Nanako who recollected that Gojo was Geto’s One and Only 「たった一人の親友」.
Tumblr media
This is undeniably canon. Geto mustn’t have mentioned him only once, or at least they learned through observation, that Gojo was important to him despite having his cult family. It’s possible that Geto might not have seen the other cult leaders much, if they were operating from different places. So this precious space was never filled after they “argued”. Geto was probably lonely / alone too after becoming PapaGeto.
And as a parent: you love your kids but they aren’t replacements for your life partner / soulmate. The same can be said for Gojo and his students. Even after death, there is a placeholder for that person. Even between partners, some people are more significant than others.
I wanted to note that this happened after the Toji incident:
Tumblr media
Geto is actually holding an eraser, and Shoko, the pencil. It appears switched in the anime. So maybe it is not as important as it could be: by that, I mean, if Geto chose an eraser because he doesn’t like the idea of harming Gojo. So this is my headcannon.
Tumblr media
But I theorise that it’s possible. Geto doesn’t like harm to come to those he loves - like arguing. With his cult family, this was one of the philosophies they continued after his death. Geto interpreting the kfc breakup as an “argument” also speaks volumes, imho.
The eraser goes further than the pencil, probably because it is considered less dangerous than a pencil, which Gojo elaborates in the next panels.
Tumblr media
We also know that Gojo knows Geto - the ins and outs. He knows what he smells like (residuals, scent or whatever you want to call it) and can predict what he might do based on how well he knows him. This is reciprocal as Geto, too, knows how Gojo thinks. Kenjaku of course exploits this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not too much of a stretch to think that Gojo has a tendency to let his guard down around Geto. Hence his switching to “ore” 「俺」 and his mask “of proper decorum and speaking politely” slips when he sees pseudoGeto (whom he thinks is Geto momentarily) and also Geto at the airport. He reverts to “boku” after that. (If you’re not already aware, Gojo used “ore” throughout the Hidden Inventory arc but changed to “boku” after Geto left - likely as a result of maturing and adopting his friend’s advice to be more polite.)
For context:
Tumblr media
Gege himself says he sometimes switches to usage of “ore” when he is excited - taken from the hared interview with Tite Kubo in the jjk character book.
So it’s really not imagining things when we see Gojo depicted specifically to be reacting like this to Geto alone. It seems like Gege is showing us something about Gojo’s subconscious / psyche. They are largely authentic with each other. There is a cultural difference in Japan about context of the inner (honne) and outer voice (tatemae). “Ore” and “Boku” represent that for Gojo respectively, I gather.
Their friendship, the rupture (and the intermittent anguish over 10 years), and having to kill his best friend - are all precisely why he gets sealed. His subconscious seems to know that Geto wouldn’t hurt him. He also trusts that Geto’s subconscious wouldn’t hurt him either. He believed Geto wouldn’t kill young sorcerers - and true to form, this cost him his life.
So there is trust for the person’s mind, there is knowing/identifying of the soul, there is familiarity of the body…
Which is interesting because all that is there is the body. Geto’s subconscious isn’t there anymore with his brain not physically present in pseudoGeto/Kenjaku’s body - but then his arm reacts to Gojo.
Tumblr media
It even continues reacting for some time. Look at those veins along his arm in the panel below:
Tumblr media
This is significant in the reciprocal nature of Gojo and Geto - Gojo’s speech changed for a moment and he is hit with all the memories from 3 of the best years of his life - his “3 years of Aoi Haru”/3年の青い春 like being smacked with his own unlimited void. Geto’s body reacts involuntaril and tries to retaliate, (just like Toji did several chapters later to stop himself from hurting Megumi/ending his massacre).
They reached for each other, y’all 😭
Again my brain just goes places, and it made me wonder about the soul & body thing. I hope that Geto’s soul is really at the airport, but that there is information carved into the body (like his memories) - if they’re important enough to become instinctual.
It is also, by extension, then possible that... Kenjaku experiences something outside of just thoughts /memories when inside his host...
Tumblr media
Just as we see here - yes he does need to keep an eye on the cube, but his expression / reaction to knowing that the girls’ presence are there... addressing them only after the curses have left, and what he says to them, as well as admitting he doesn’t remember what regret feels like -
Tumblr media
…and cue an tighter shot of the prison realm (with Gojo’s eyes in the anime depiction) (and interestingly the back of the realm has stitches like Kenjaku’s forehead).
Gege likes to foreshadow and follow up with something significant. So similarly to the above where he sees the girls and acts like he doesn’t give a toss, but is depicted to seem contrary to what he says. Could it also be that it Gojo’s eyes staring that incited the involuntary movement, and the reemphasis of Kenjaku saying he was enjoying the view of seeing Gojo captured - a similar pattern? This old man is just a brain who forgot how to feel?
It begs the question for me: If there was something imprinted within the body that Gojo could call out, what was there?
It remains possible that Kenjaku was simply detached / in denial / ignoring any emotion that arose within from Geto’s body.
Arguably, it is possibly quite characteristic of Kenjaku who was a “mother” and had some motherly instincts remaining, or it could also be seen as an emergence of some sympathy or sadness for the girls that may have come from Geto’s body. I mean, he led Yuji’s friend (Sasaki) out of the culling games, acting like a parent / guardian...
Tumblr media
Hmm…
We do not see a physical reaction to any children though; and I guess a situation like that (with the Hasaba girls) in comparison to one that may be filled with adrenaline like a trapped Gojo speaking in that low baritone to him, is inherently different. But regret though? Was it actually a knowing smirk Gege showed us of Kenjaku in front of the prison realm - as if to say he had bested Gojo and Geto? He got his way with the girls too, despite knowing Geto’s feelings?
Or did he simply not recognise it, and it was truly a first for Kenjaku because there normally isn’t something there, but with Geto’s body - something actually stirred / retaliated... because it was Gojo?
I mean, from a neutral perspective, it would seem like the author is shipping them, lol. But I’m not going to lie - we don’t get much honest feedback from Geto about Gojo, so nuggets like those are quite affirming that the connection felt between them was very mutual.
Because if we see how it all began, and note that all Geto wanted to do was to protect those who needed it (even if it was at his personal expense). First it was humans, then Gojo, then sorcerers and then his family too.
And this was born out of the fracture from being unable to be relied upon to kill Toji (avenge Gojo & Riko’s death) or to fight Toji with Gojo, since leaving him alone resulted in getting him killed - which he must’ve believed happened until the point he saw him alive again carrying Riko’s lifeless body...
Tumblr media
His connection with Gojo was so strong that (as Gege described it) his body reacted like a dragonfly whose head has been cut off. Something imprinted so deeply in their friendship that it became instinctual - carved into the body - and may not be related to the mind (therefore my avoidance of using the term “subconscious” with pseudoGeto, as it would be Kenjaku’s consciousness).
Moreover, if we take Toji’s resurrection as an example, even in the absence of a soul, the body can still remember and react. In a Geto’s case, where there is a different mind controlling it, for the body is react as separate entity is rather remarkable. I guess by saying this, I’m postulating that I believe body & soul are separate - because, if I’m honest, I want to believe Geto’s soul is with Gojo post-chapter 236.
But. We know there are all of Geto’s memories within the body still after Kenjaku inhabit it. In the absence of the host’s brain. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, Gege - but here we are. And maybe. Emotions too. Or memories of them at the very least. Not that it matters to Kenjaku.
This greatly disturbs me. It’s a level of injustice that also feeds into why I have been avoiding doing metas in Gojo - because his suffering and level of unfairness thrust upon him for simply being “blessed” and resilient just … hurts so bad. I can’t face it just yet.
So what exactly made their connection so profound?
I theorise that Geto interpreted Gojo as wanting to fight alone. That he was in his best element doing so. Kenjaku says this about Gojo too, knowing Geto’s memories.
Short sidenote: Whilst it is true that his technique lends itself better to soloing, I wonder how they might’ve fought together had the Toji incident not occurred. How would they overcome Unlimited Void aside from being back/to-back? Could Geto obtain a curse of his own to swallow him up as protection? No doubt, as a team, Geto’s progression could’ve been exponentially increased due to the number and level of curses available to him with assistance from Gojo. And would Gojo be different and enjoy fighting together had it not occurred? I don’t know, but they do seem to have wanted a connection with one another.
He saw Shoko being asked for help with teleportation. Once upon a time, might it have been him? There was no longer any “we” that he could sense. He didn’t feel there was a use when he had “failed” in so many ways after the failure of the mission and also believing that Gojo died that day and he was unable to avenge him.
Tumblr media
The conversation with Yuki all but reinforced his feelings of irrelevance and perceived waste of their sacrifice when tengen was allegedly stable again. Subsequent conversations with Haibara and Nanami seals his skewed belief that he wasn’t needed there. Nanami’s choice of words is very interesting in the original text, implying that “it’s enough for him (Gojo) alone, isn’t it?”. Ref post by @nanami-says who has a nice selection of pieces about translations.
Gojo alone could do it. He could train and ascend all without him; untainted and untethered. His downfall was that he didn’t speak to Gojo. Gojo alone was left out. I mean, just because it suited him doesn’t mean he should be left to do it all...
This is so sad.
He left his heart (Gojo) alone. He also left his own heart alone (never happy from the bottom of his heart). In his descent, he was busy rationalising everything else except getting sad that he felt he’d lost his best friend. Arguably, the most important thing, because it is the scariest things and the things that hurt the most often have the most power / potential to heal.
It is possible he was actively avoiding it. Because, if it was purely about chasing an ideal he could have been drawn to look obsessed with it. Instead he has a sorrowful “I love you so much imma break up with you” face.
Gojo could have been the strength he was seeking if he did indeed want to just eliminate all humans, but he didn’t seek that out because (I theorise) he didn’t want to be outwardly rejected by Gojo.
And thus, he left instead (ugh! you foolish brave coward!) after snapping, and Gojo was left alone to pick up the pieces all by himself in a place haunted with memories of them together.
Just bloody tragic.
And that’s why it was carved into their souls.
In the depths of despair that he was in, could it be that he believed Gojo was better off without him , and in wanting to cradle whatever pride he had left, he sought to build his own temple where he could live in the void of his own making without facing that he had lost everyday?
Gojo could be free to grow and grow and be the strongest and embrace whatever belief system he now held - whether it was borrowed from him or not.
Tumblr media
He even goads Gojo into killing him off since there would be meaning to it.
Sigh. Heartbreaking. It wasn’t the best decision. But we know suffering builds character. At least Gege really likes this theme❤️‍🩹.
Why do I believe he yielded though?
Tumblr media
Because caring for others comes second nature to Geto. How many times have we seen him make that forlorn face?
Even with the souvenir he requested from Haibara, in the original he phrases it in such a way he implies he isn’t even sure if he’ll see him. “Satoru too; I don’t know if he’ll have some, but I guess, something sweet?” But. He yields to his preference.
Tumblr media
There is limited space in his heart, and all he can do is exclude some in order to vehemently love those he can (or deems worthy enough based on his moral system). He didn’t know any other way to exist. Monstrous love. I’m pretty sure someone wrote about it. If I can find it I’ll link it! I call it maternal rage, but it’s a similar concept.
If he had wished to leave without staining Gojo, the absence of a confession of his love at any point also makes sense - like Nanami, he chose his final words carefully - that he hated monkeys (why preface with “no matter what anyone says”) and in a roundabout way, that he djdnt have hate for anyone at the school (can’t he just say he was happiest in those few years?). He wasn’t happy in the world (you can just kill me).
Tumblr media
When he saw and felt Gojo’s love - unwavered and unchanged, seeing him having blossomed into someone still so pure - effortlessly righteous, strong, and proud with his army of students who loved each other... did he dare feel absolved? Did he feel like it was worth his defection? Yielded to others? Unable to be selfish? As sad as he was for himself and that his family would be without him and his dream unrealised; Gojo turned out ok.
Suddenly it gave meaning to his perceived sacrifice. It parallels with Toji and seeing Megumi who wasn’t a zenin.
Ah, this makes me mad somehow, but if it helped him pass and have a good death, what can I say? We all need something different at the end of our lives. And it’s important in the Shinto perspective to have a death free of regret in order to live in the space between nowhere/rebirth and earth. I posted about this in another piece too.
And I think that’s also why it was all carved into his body - enough to react to Gojo calling out to him, “Suguru”, despite being inhabited by Kenjaku. And carved into his soul that’s why he waited in the afterlife for Gojo. To be the first to greet him. I want to believe the body and soul are separate. The subconscious may have acted as a bridge between the two, transferring information from the mind / soul into the body.
But of course as a reader we wished it could’ve been a kinder fate for them. But I guess sometimes people have to pay for their sins as well as the sins of others? Life isn’t fair after all…
And arguably, Gojo needed a way to truly sympathise with the weak and how else through loving and losing someone to shape a person’s soul? It was just rather Geto-shaped, as I elaborated on in my other post.
Tumblr media
I highly suspect Gojo may have wanted something different - as being born the strongest, he was always going to be the strongest anyway. This came with a burden. Noblesse Oblige. Being the strongest was written into his entire being - mind, body, soul.
And I think this was something they had both respected. I doubt Geto ever thought of himself as a power equal to Gojo, but they had both valued their friendship. Geto was someone who saw Gojo for a person, before the strongest. That’s why when Mimiko and Nanako asked, he was considered thus “my best friend”, and not the latter. Gojo recognised that for what it was, and felt the tender words that showed Care. Consideration. Love.
Tumblr media
Gojo may have wanted Geto to lean on him a little. To let himself take the fall. They both didn’t like burdening the other, and after Toji it might just magnified. He wasn’t the type to overthink his role, but wanting to be the strongest (seeing how far he can go) and taking on all the blame was one of the ways Gojo was extremely loving. It was just something he accepted.
Tumblr media
I feel like Gojo wanted to be relied upon to do his part; be his best friend, someone he could still love and do the mental and emotional load for him, spoil him a little in return so he could just do his thing as the strongest and train. He needed his other half to help him to do the things he doesn’t like or isn’t good at doing.
Tumblr media
I think that as they experienced their bafflingly complementary and reciprocal friendship … before he knew it, all these experiences and emotions shaped him so much that his soul made room for Geto - as the one person who represented fulfilment outside of being the strongest.
Never once did he think he’d lose Geto like he did. He never wanted to be at it alone. Like a lonely army tank whose comrades had left him on the battefield to fight it out on his own.
Ugh, it hurts so bad. He didn’t think Geto was slipping down. Maybe because it wasn’t something he could understand- even more so after the enlightenment incident where a chasm emerged between him and others. Maybe nobody was ever important enough for him to worry or miss if they left.
He nevertheless never deserved to be met with such loneliness and misfortune. He carried the weight of it all, all by himself. I know they both did in their own way, but there is some tragedy to Gojo where he probably wanted or could have had more to fill his life and soul but there was always a chasm or a void that could not be filled because he could not feel understood by anyone since Geto.
How awful it must feel to have to kill someone you treasure.
We have no idea without much insight into his life growing up. Nevertheless, Gojo consistently shielded those he cares about from self-blame even from the beginning where he must’ve known Geto had such inclinations to be stuck in his own head and he tried his best to absolve it and take it upon himself. The priorities of those he cared about became his, provided if he could do it. He protected the students and made light of situations so they could experience their youth. Something he can remember treasuring well into his adult life. His blue spring / best years of his life were deeply etched into his subconscious and soul. It was what he wanted to give his students and reason for reforming the jujutsu world.
Tumblr media
But being shielded at that time wasn’t enough for Geto who was experiencing the worst spiral in his life yet. He needed to feel the weight of his responsibility had meaning and a role. In his trauma, grief and denial, he shatters and reaches a point from which he cannot return. He also knows how Gojo defines the weak - tiresome, “lower”, etc. and that could have been another factor that led to his avoidance of him.
I want to really emphasise how I don’t blame any of them. They are not inherently responsible for the other. Arguably, Gojo needed to learn about that pain in order to know what love is. And Geto needed to realise how flawed and unloving his path actually was.
If only they could’ve both had a compassionate mentor who guided them onto the Teacher AU path 😭
In the absence of such a connection etched into his soul, what might Gojo have become? Another Sukuna? I theorised that Geto helped Gojo connect with those “beneath” him in a recent post. I’m not going to repeat that here, but it makes a lot of sense to me that Gojo learned a lot about love through Geto and his own hard work following the numerous hardships he faced as the loneliest strongest of the modern era.
Tumblr media
He faced so much in his short life. Being blessed with the six eyes and limitless was a curse in itself. He spent years paying the price for losing his friend, and even had to kill him. How profoundly tragic. He faced loneliness and criticism for finding joy in the only thing that he practically had: jujutsu (yes that kept him one-dimensional, but similar to MeiMei chasing money and several others pursuing strength alone) it was a hefty price to pay. But he was a sorcerer. After all, the only thing he really wanted was to treasure his blue spring and the person associated with it - Geto.
It is poetic that when Gojo died, his soul found its counterpart. He opened his eyes to the person whose presence had etched itself so deeply that he knew Geto in body, mind, soul. Geto was there to greet him with a heartfelt smile (and pout!).
Tumblr media
One meeting him at the point of death, and the other, upon death.
Their exchange is really reciprocal here too, with Geto admitting he was envious and Gojo responding in a way where he implies reassurance akin to “I needed you there”. Link to a post on this:
Geto’s little tear in his eye in not one, but two panels as well.
Anyway… then appearing at the airport reminds me of their exchange many years ago “you’re late Suguru - no you’re early.” And “you’re late, Satoru.”
Well, they’re on time now... better not be late for your flight, kids.
And as Kenjaku said to Gojo before sealing him - 「新しい世界でまた会おう」
“let’s meet again in the new world.”
—————————
Sorry, it’s a whopper from me again.
Just some words in an attempt to close this off:
For someone whose emotions guided and drove his rationale, it was ironic how Geto’s body became a puppet for someone like Kenjaku, who was so cerebral (devoid of empathy) befitting of his curse technique to brain-hop. It fits with the jjk theme of being strong in the absence of love, I guess?
Seems fitting that Kenjaku was bested after slipping up when having that good of a time with Takaba. Ironic isn’t it? All those years scheming, only to lose himself for a moment as he indulged in something novel, and he lost to a scheme himself.
And to be killed by Gojo v3.0 (Yuta) who already defeated him once, also as foreshadowed by Gojo before being sealed, on the date he scheduled 24th November.
The parallels don’t end there either, where somehow mahito who stood beside Kenjaku was created to parallel Gojo in some way too (I haven’t quite pondered on this much yet, but I reckon there is something about the thrill in growing exponentially / fighting sense that they share - it might just be that alone or possibly also the juxtaposition of one being human and one a curse? Their reasons for seeking strength?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dunno - i gather Yuji who also developed exponentially fast and as an anomaly himself may have similarities. And again, as ch 257 leaked, it makes sense and I look forward to finding out what’ll happen to them (seeing as Yuji is kind of sukuna’s son 🤯 if the jjk world considers twin souls to be one soul - papa Yuji is Sukuna’s twin after all) and also Megumi of course.
Just going to wrap up here now, and please feel free to link me up to a post that can enlighten me or drop a comment with any thoughts?
Sorry for a rambling post. I hope it made sense.
For real, real. Thanks for reading my brainrot ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

Sealing A Curse (Kenjaku x Mahito)
Contains: Sensory deprivation, blindfolds, oral sex, dubious consent, misuse of cursed energy.
Day 11 of kinktober: Sensory deprivation! Hopefully the beginning doesn't feel too stiff, if you've been reading my stuff for long, you'll know writing dialogue stresses me out and takes me quite some time. I circumvented that by paraphrasing their conversation, so I could get this out quicker. Crossposted to Ao3 under the same name and shared to twt at kenjakusbrain. Comment or reblog if you enjoy!
Kenjaku enjoyed just how curious Mahito was, the curse was always asking questions and more than willing to listen to him go on about any random topic. He really appreciated that the curse had a seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge, at least when it came to humans. While there were times Mahito had asked him about different tools or objects, he had never seemed so interested in one. So when he asked about the Prison Realm, Kenjaku was a little more than surprised.
It started small, the curse occasionally asking about how it worked or how it kept someone alive. It seemed that he had listened to Jogo ranting about how he was certain he could put the realm to better use than Kenjaku, and had become curious about what it actually was. Mahito listened intently as Kenjaku explained its uses and the concept of nullifying cursed energy.
Nullifying cursed energy is something that had stuck with Mahito, he couldn’t seem to fathom the idea of something losing the charge of cursed energy. When Kenjaku compared it to the severed fingers of Sukuna that they possessed and the talismen they were wrapped in, it seemed to make a little more sense.
The cursed energy wasn’t being removed, it was just being temporarily stopped. That piqued Mahito’s interest, his mind immediately going to using the prison realm as a way to prevent Yuuji from using his technique against him. It annoyed him that the boy was able to brush off his abilities so easily.
Mahito huffed as Kenjaku explained that it wouldn’t quite work like that, as Yuuji Itadori’s technique wasn’t what brushed off his abilities, but his role as a vessel was the issue Mahito faced. It seemed this wasn’t quite what Mahito had wanted to hear. Lamenting about how boring it was to not be able to use the prison realm for something that suited him.
Kenjaku just reminded him that it would be very helpful, if not essential to nullifying Gojo’s technique. To keep Gojo locked away and unable to use any cursed energy for an indeterminate amount of time would be more helpful than anything else.
Ignoring Kenjaku’s further explanations about the prison realm, Mahito turned his mind to something he was more curious about. He interrupted Kenjaku’s explanation to ask about how a sorcerer could live separated from their cursed energy.
Instead of chiding Mahito for interrupting him, Kenjaku felt a new idea float to the forefront of his mind.
“Even you could live separate from your energy for a while before it started to have a serious effect on you,” Kenjaku said, eyes now intently focused on the curse that lazed about next to him. They had been reading together, but it seemed Mahito was too distracted to read anymore, his head finding its way into Kenjaku’s lap and his book long forgotten on the coffee table in front of them.
Mahito’s ramblings stopped at Kenjaku’s suggestion. The origin of his curiosity did lie with the idea of being trapped and unable to use one's abilities. He laughed at Kenjaku’s statement, not believing a word the man said. Of course he knew what Kenjaku was talking about, but he was much stronger than a cursed object.
“You’re funny!” Mahito said, still giggling to himself at the implication that he could be controlled like that.
By now, Kenjaku had closed his own book in favor of studying the curse on his lap. Mahito’s hair splayed across his thighs, it would be so easy to pull the curse up by his hair and make him listen to what he had to say. That wouldn’t work with Mahito though, if he wanted the curse to understand something, it had to be an even more hands on experience. Kenjaku knew he could speak on this until his throat was sore, and until he proved it, Mahito would just giggle to himself about the foolishness of humanity.
Without warning, Kenjaku stood up, forcing Mahito to sit up or be thrown off of the couch. Kenjaku ignored the curse as he complained about having to move when he was comfortable, choosing instead to head into another part of his domicile to find something that would help him give Mahito a more practical example.
When Kenjaku returned he had a small box in his hands. Mahito reached for it, but Kenjaku kept it out of his reach, like a child far too eager for a birthday gift.
“Close your eyes and I’ll help you understand,” Kenjaku said. It was obviously a trap, or at least that’s what Kenjaku thought. He expected Mahito to whine or complain in some way or at least be resistant in some fashion. So he was surprised when Mahito’s eyelashes fluttered shut at his request. Either he was so confident in his own abilities or he trusted Kenjaku more than he let on.
Kenjaku wasn’t sure which was stranger for the curse.
Not wanting to waste any time, Kenjaku removed a long talisman from the box. It was stronger than some of the other ones he had, normally used for dampening the energy on strong cursed tools. He figured, if he used his own energy correctly, it would do just the same thing to Mahito.
Kenjaku moved with a practiced ease, his many years of experience shining through. Before Mahito even had a chance to speak, Kenjaku had wrapped the talisman around Mahito’s head three times, each new loop obscuring his vision until he was completely blindfolded. Kenjaku held his hand there for a moment, focusing his energy into the talisman with the intention of metaphorically sealing Mahito.
Mahito froze as Kenjaku’s hand left his temple, for once he was too stunned to speak. It was as if he had just used his domain expansion multiple times in a row, the ache that settled in his body was a heavy one. What the curse thought was a soreness however, turned to panic when he realized he was unable to use his ability.
Reaching his hand up, Mahito attempted to stretch it out to touch Kenjaku’s face. Even though Mahito couldn’t see, when he felt nothing happen to his hand, he quickly moved to peel off the talisman. However upon touching the material on his face, he found it felt like it was attached to the skin rather than sitting on top of it.
Kenjaku’s hands closed around Mahito’s wrists, forcing the curse’s hands together. Another flourish of material in his hands and Kenjaku had secured Mahito’s wrists. If the curse could see, he might have been able to notice that the two talisman Kenjaku had applied to them were different. Since he couldn’t however, he had no way of anticipating his new lack of ability to control his limbs.
All it had taken was two talismans imbued with Kenjaku’s cursed energy to completely strip Mahito of his ability and bodily autonomy. The curse wanted to scream, to beg Kenjaku to take them off, but he was unable to even move his lips.
“Maybe next time you’ll believe the information I’m telling you. Imagine if a sorcerer caught you like this and used it to exorcize you, or worse used it to get information out of you!” Kenjaku spoke, his voice dripping with feigned concern. He did care if something happened to Mahito, though not out of care for the curse himself.
Pressing a hand on Mahito’s cheek, Kenjaku wondered if he’d been too heavy handed in his use of his own cursed energy. Mahito didn’t react at all to his touch. Kenjaku squeezed Mahito’s cheeks, cupping his chin and forcing the curse’s mouth to open.
A salacious thought popped into Kenjaku’s mind, with the curse unable to fight back, he could perhaps test out the limits of his admittedly strong talisman. The first was meant to cut Mahito off from his ability to use cursed energy, he hadn’t realized just how much this would affect a curse like Mahito. It was as if he had submerged the curse into a sensory deprivation chamber, he couldn’t see and it simultaneously felt like he was floating and like he was being touched all over.
The second talisman made Mahito unable to move, his body frozen unless Kenjaku moved him. Paired with the first, this one did lessen Mahito’s whole body sensation, now making him feel more like he was surrounded by water. The inability to move or properly feel anything had Mahito so discombobulated that mentally, the curse felt like he was on the verge of passing out. Kenjaku said it would take a while for a curse like him to take serious damage from these, a part of Mahito’s mind was certain that this was the end for him.
Taking advantage of Mahito’s current state, Kenjaku leaned forward and kissed his unmoving lips. Tongue delving briefly into the curse’s forced open mouth.
“I don’t know if you can still hear me, but this will only take but a few moments. You usually finish quickly and I just want to see how that translates to being manually subdued,” Kenjaku didn’t bother trying to make himself sound seductive. He truly was curious about the curse’s bodily reactions, and since Mahito always reacted so strongly to sexual stimuli, of course that was the best course of action.
Mahito could barely hear Kenjaku, but had no way of acknowledging him. The man’s words sounded like he was speaking at a normal volume from twenty feet away. Normally Mahito didn’t mind participating in whatever experiments Kenjaku had in mind, but he wanted nothing more than for this to be over.
Kenjaku’s hands moved straight to the curse’s crotch, unzipping the pants quickly and pulling them down just enough to free his cock. Situating himself on his knees, Kenjaku stroked the flaccid cock in his hands until it started to grow. It seemed like Mahito could still react to stimuli, but only on an involuntary level.
“Try to remember what this feels like, I’ll have questions for you afterwards,” Kenjaku stated, his curiosity sounded purely analytical. As if he was doing some normal kind of research and not on his knees with a cock in his hands.
Leaning forward, Kenjaku took Mahito’s semi hard cock into his mouth, sucking at the hot flesh. He could feel Mahito grow harder in his mouth, turning the mouthful into something that pressed into the back of his throat.
While he normally loved hearing Mahito’s reactions, the gasps and lewd moaning, it was fun in this moment to know how helpless the curse was. Even if he normally could easily overpower the curse, to have him reduced to an unmoving doll made Kenjaku more eager than before.
Kenjaku pulled Mahito’s cock out of his mouth once it was fully hard, sucking at just the sensitive head for a moment. Normally Mahito’s thighs trembled when he did this, so the lack of reaction made Kenjaku want to try even harder. Running his tongue up and down the underside of Mahito’s cock, Kenjaku lavished it with attention, feeling his own spit run down his chin. He didn’t care if he made a mess, he was trying to study something.
Taking Mahito’s cock back into his mouth, Kenjaku bobbed his head, sucking at the curse’s cock in earnest. Looking up he could see a line of drool slipping from Mahito’s lips, though he was unsure if that was from their kiss or not.
Though he couldn’t react, Mahito was screaming on the inside. His body still felt strange, as if he were submerged in water, but the heat of what he assumed was Kenjaku’s mouth felt so much more intense than normal. What normally felt good was amplified, with it being the only thing he could feel or focus on at the moment. If he was able, Mahito knew he would have been on the verge of tears.
Lifting one hand to hold his own hair back, not wanting to make too much of a mess of it, Kenjaku forced Mahito’s cock all the way into his mouth. Lips pressing up against Mahito’s pelvis as he tested his vessel’s gag reflex. It didn’t surprise him that there was none to be found. Kenjaku then began roughly fucking his own face on Mahito’s cock. Not caring about the soreness he was beginning to feel on the back of his throat or the spit that had gotten on his cheek.
Without warning, Mahito suddenly came, a hot release filling Kenjaku’s mouth causing him to choke on it. Recovering quickly, he sucked at Mahito’s cock now with the intention of swallowing every drop of his cum. No longer focused on anything other than not wasting a drop.
As he felt Mahito grow limp in his mouth, Kenjaku sat back. Bringing a hand up he wiped saliva off of his face. Not bothering to cover the curse’s spent cock, Kenjaku moved to sit next to him. Hands immediately moving to undo the talisman around the curse’s hands. Sitting it neatly on the table in front of them, Kenjaku felt Mahito’s body next to him convulse. Perhaps a delayed reaction to his orgasm?
Kenjaku’s hands begun to peel away at the talisman around Mahito’s head. As the seal broke and the material fell Mahito was suddenly able to feel again. He could move, use his cursed energy, and speak; for all intents and purposes, he was back to normal.
Yet for some reason as soon as the talisman blindfold came off, Mahito felt tears fall from his eyes. His body felt so energized and so drained at the same time, it was much more overwhelming than anything he’d ever felt.
Kenjaku pulled Mahito into an embrace, allowing the curse to tremble in his arms. He did have a lot of questions, but they could wait until he had calmed down. Kenjaku didn’t mind waiting, as he knew these answers would be worth more. This wasn’t something he could study often!

Any thoughts on the current Takaba vs Kenjaku face-off?
Hola anon! Yesssss I have thoughts. So many thoughts because, while not necessarily amongst my top 5 chapters in jjk, chapters 240 and 241 are sooooooo damn good in their exploration of both Takaba's and Kenny's sense of self.
Tumblr media
Thing is... I already liked Takaba, but after this set of chapters, it's not necessarily that I love him more, but rather I appreciate how relatable he is.
In a nutshell, my reaction to this chapter this week was:
fucking Gege 😭👌
I taco'bout it under the cut!
Let's start with 240 though...
Chapter 240: Foolish Survivor, Live On—Battle of Equals
Tumblr media
I think it's very relevant that Gege just gave us Gojo and Kashimo's death served on a cold platter of "I wanted to feel I belonged in a world where I felt no one could understand me" because I am totally loving Takaba's sense of self revolving around the same need and desire.
So I love that he found in Kenny someone who understood him so well, to the point that his jokes were rendered ineffective because Kenny could see right through the joke's weakness.
Tumblr media
Similarly, I am loving what Takaba is doing for Kenny.
In chapter 239 Kenny mockingly asks Hanezoki to be friends...
Tumblr media
... and specifically says that to be his friend, such a person must never bore him and must be his equal. This is also interesting in the sense that Kenny calls Granny Tengen his friend, so I'm curious to see Gege expand on this.
Now, this is relevant because Kenny is basically a 1,000 year old brain. When you've lived that long and you've seen everything there is to be seen in terms of human drama, I imagine life can get pretty boring. So what is it that drives someone who's seen it all to get up every morning and face yet another day in the world?
What is their raison d'être? Their reason for living and existing...
Tumblr media
So I love Kenny's state of mind "being written all over his face" because it goes right back to the intellectual curiosity that drives his actions and Takaba is the one who is reigniting that intellectual curiosity that drives Kenny.
Tumblr media
Kenny is smart and wants to laugh. The fact he knows so much about comedy shows he's found in comedy something worth exploring. I mean... imagine Kenny as Kaori, Yuji's mom, pregnant af, watching comedy shows to pass the time because it feeds her intellectual curiosity.
Similarly, think of how Kashimo asked Sukuna about what brings him enough satisfaction to turn himself into a cursed object to cross the ages, to which Sukuna's simple response is "the ephemeral taste of human flesh is enough to pass the time until death".
Tumblr media
This is interesting in and of itself given the recent ask about which element each of the three big clans represents (mind/body/soul). It kind of feels like Sukuna represents body and Kenny represents mind. But I digress....
Chapter 240 then ends with Takaba having an identity crisis--that is, he's come face to face with the very source of his own woes the way it happened for Gojo.
If he is to go on living, Takaba needs to re-assess his sense of self.
Tumblr media
Chapter 240: Foolish Survivor, Win and Remain—Bridging opposites
The chapter opens showing us a Takaba we hadn't seen up until now--harsh and critical, he takes things too seriously. Little did we know, this is part of his sense of self.
And I just loved this juxtaposition of these two conflicting parts of Takaba's personality (someone who takes things too seriously but who is also capable of being one hell of a goofy mf) because it showed that
a) two seemingly contradictory elements can coexist as one and the same, and
b) when we get out of balance (i.e. choosing to prioritize one of these contradictions over the other like Takaba being so focused on doing comedy right that he's forgotten that the spirit of comedy is being lighthearted), we lose sight of what's truly important.
So Takaba's trying to get back at why he became an entertainer in the first place...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... and the lengths he was willing to go through to be accepted and feel like he was understood by his peers... idk. It's so fucking real...
This is also the antithesis of everything Sukuna stands for.
But what I personally think is neat about Takaba is that, while he did act goofy so that others found him relatable, I really do think he's one hell of a genuinely goofy mf for a couple of reasons. First, an overly serious personality type has to be balanced out by an unserious personality (in Jungian psych it's all about wholeness by bridging opposites). Second, he seems to genuinely be interested in comedy and the craft of comedy.
Takaba's problem was then that his overly serious persona would kill all the fun out of comedy, while on the other hand, the part of him that wanted to be accepted did not want to take things seriously because it meant getting rejected.
Tumblr media
It's almost like Takaba never got these two parts of himself to work together and so they worked against each other.
And can I just say that I absolutely loved this interaction between Takaba's current self and his child self? Representing Takaba in his younger years felt like Gege was writing about how this was the formative period when Takaba's conflict between his two personalities started. Gege already did something similar with Gojo in his teen years and this is just so masterful and beautiful because I don't even know how to put into words that Gege is writing about a process of healing through dialogue with the inner child.
I'm screaming in depth psychology nerd.
Above all, I love how this chapter in particular gets at the conflict we've seen repeated in other characters in jjk--i.e. Gojo felt isolated but did not realize that was partly because he built barriers around himself.
It's like Gege is showing us how we see ourselves (our sense of self) is the very source of our own tragedies because we're largely blind to anything that is outside of conscious awareness because we push it into the shadow.
It's just... *chef's kiss*
fucking Gege 😭👌
So I LOVED seeing Takaba own his need to be known and understood because that's so fucking human.
Tumblr media
But even better was how he brought together that goofy mf he tapped into due to his need to be understood with his earnest and serious nature.
Tumblr media
Also, his level of self-awareness...
And to bring it all back full circle...
Tumblr media
Will Kenny laugh? Looks like Kenny is excited to see what Takaba has in store, so that's already a good sign.
idk, again, this isn't my favorite chapter ever and at the same time... man... what a fantastic character exploration.
There's something here about how Takaba may be the only one who gets this whole sense of self thing right.
The other thing I'll say is that Gege has a tendency to make his characters relatable in their last moments. There's something here that I can't quite put my finger on quite just yet that goes back to the idea that "how we live is how we die" and jjk characters have a tendency to go out in such a way that reflects how they lived their lives.
Whatever the case, I'm on #Team Takaba and am rooting for him from the sidelines.

Thanks for stopping by anon!

Hi Nighty 🐜 I read your vent, I know it's a random anon message but I still have things to say haha
First, I am very grateful for your Sukuna art, I look at a lot of Sukuna fanarts and while comparing yourself to other artists is a normal reaction, I want to tell you that your art is my favorite, don't get me wrong I love a lot of other artists, but you just bring Sukuna to life in a way I had never seen before, the art is not only beautiful but it's also a nice breath of air compared to the usual anime style, he looks very "manly" and overall somewhat scarier yet sexier, and the way you color your drawings is just so amazing, very satisfying to look at !
Second, again, it's normal to wonder if people would get bored of your Sukuna but I genuinely don't think they will, the same way people don't get bored of their favorite characters even if a show is complete, I love Sukuna's true form in the manga but your drawings allow us to see him in other situations, it's like you and gege complete each other lmao, besides, I can never get bored of such beautiful art
In short, you're amazing, keep going :) sorry about the long text I suck at conveying stuff oops 🐜
PS : Permission was so amazing I couldn't read any other fanfics for a week after 😭
Ohhhh 🥺🥺🥺 thats very sweet of you! Thank you so much for your sweet words!
I already feel better since I did a small break and focused on my own art instead of looking too much at others. When I feel like that again I should remember your words about about not getting bored of favourite characters. I never thought of it like that!
Thank you ❤️

MASTERPOST
previous chapter part V next chapter
content warnings: a little bit of groping, pet name used is bunny, mention of insecurities, swearing, sukuna is emotionally constipated and really bad at expressing his romantic feelings towards you so insults are expected, choking, violence, never a dull day with these four, guest star! Maki, yandere themes, jealousy, unedited w/ typos (probably).
i’m sorry if this chapter is boring! i really wanted to rush the drama but i know i cAnT 😭
word count: 3.2k
After the meal, you’d had, along with your conversation with Yuuji you were pleased with the date the two of you had set up. You certainly never thought of ever being where you were but life was like that sometimes.
You’d made your way out of the dining room and began walking back to your temporary room, knowing that Sukuna would follow you just like a puppy would without you having to explicitly ask him. You could already sense the seething heat that radiated off his skin from holding in his little tantrum.
Pushing open the door that led to your temporary bedroom, you went towards the massive bed and flopped on top of it, laying flat on your back before stretching out your limbs and groaning when you stretched your limbs just right.
Aside from your groaning, a soft click of the door signaled that Sukuna had shut it after entering behind you but you paid him no mind, too focused on stretching out your body until you were satisfied.
While you were rolling around on the bed, Sukuna watched you with a twitching eye, still trying to grasp what was exactly going on in your head. When you had suddenly sat up to stare at him, he stared back at you and then slowly crossed his arms over his chest, awaiting whatever you wanted to say.
It was strange how patient he was, considering how much of a hothead he usually was, but for some reason, he was a bit lost for words when it came to you. How could you even manage to make the great Sukuna have a run for his money anyway? You were so unpredictable, he’d never met a human like you before.
“Let me borrow your phone,” was the first thing you had said, holding your hand out for him to place said device in your outstretched palm.
“Why?”
“Whaddaya think? I’ve been missing for days without so much as a call or a text to anyone. I’m sure my friends are worried, and I have to figure out what I missed in class,” you reasoned, rolling your wrist around to emphasize your point.
Rolling his eyes, he mimicked your hand movement before speaking up, “I’ll just brainwash them. Problem solved.”
“You can brainwash people?”
“There’s nothing I can’t do.”
“I bet you can’t beatbox.”
“What? Who in the fuck needs to know how to do such a lousy skill?”
You shrug and then get off of the bed to approach him, “Don’t know, guess it’s something you can’t do.”
Sukuna squinted at you, about to retaliate but then you decided to get a little up close and personal with him, throwing him for a loop.
Just as you had done to Yuuji a few days prior you koala’d yourself around the tall man and began to feel him up, much to his pleasure and to your dismay.
“Oh bunny, I never took you for the handsy type.~ I just might forgive you for the little stunt you pulled earlier if you keep this up,” he hummed, taking it upon himself to firmly grasp the fat of your ass, giving it a squeeze. You gasped at the sudden groping and punched him in the back before snatching his phone from his jacket pocket, “ASSHOLE, I WASN’T- y’know what? It doesn’t matter, I got what I needed.”
“Why should I tell you?”
“Why should I tell you?”
“Why should I tell you?”
“Tell me and I might not kick your ass.”
“Tch, as if you could. How about… a kiss?~”
Choking on your own spit, you became flustered, his words eating away at your resolve. Flashes of your kiss from before invaded your mind and you gripped his phone, embarrassment coursing through your veins. Why’d he have to bring that up?
“HA! Why should I kiss you?”
“You had no problem lip-locking with me the other day. What’s changed? Hm, should I seduce you?”
“I’d like to see you try, asshat,” you said rather calmly, turning to face him as you collected yourself, “Nevermind that. I’ll let you try and seduce me if you give me your code.”
Your used-to-be bully began to take a few steps closer to you, each footstep being excruciatingly more dramatic than the previous until he was nearly chest to chest with you.
“I don’t think you’re in the position to be negotiating, but, I’ll be nice because I think you’re cute,” he chided in a rather jerky way before snatching his phone from your hands. He then entered in his passcode, which was coincidentally the day you both had met but you didn’t know that and he wasn’t going to tell you. (Soft boi Sukuna would rather die)
After putting in the code he dropped the phone back into your hand and then moved to flop on top of your bed just as you had done a few minutes ago.
With his phone in your hand, you looked at the screen, only then realizing what day it was, “OH FUCK! Fuck fuck fuck fuck! I forgot that I was supposed to meet with her today! She’s gonna kill me!”
You began to frantically dial a number, making Sukuna sit up and watch you, wondering what had gotten you so freaked out, deciding to listen in on your conversation.
The phone rang for a few seconds before the person on the other line picked up, a feminine voice answering.
“Maki! I’m sorry, I forgot about our lunch date! I’ll make it up to you with your favorite food,” you cooed into the phone, sounding surprisingly sweet as you spoke to the one referred to as “Maki.”
Maki? Who the hell was that and why were you talking to her like that? This caused him to sit up and lean in, listening closely to your conversation without regard to your privacy.
“Did you get a new phone or something? I don’t recognize this number,” Maki replied, causing you to remember where you were exactly.
Quick! Think of an excuse!
“Oh! Uh, I forgot my phone at home and some old bum let me borrow his phone!”
Wow, rude.
“Oh yeah? Well… okay, but I’m coming over later to your place so you can keep your promise. Be there or be square.”
“Hah, what??? Why wouldn’t I be at my own place? It’s not like I’m in Hell or something, haha. No way. Of course, you can order whatever you want or I’ll even cook something for you.”
“... Sure, whatever floats your boat, Y/N. See you later?”
“See you! Love you!”
“Love you too.”
By the time you had hung up the phone, Sukuna was breathing down your neck, glaring at his phone like it was a threat, “Who the hell’s Maki? Never heard of her before. You cheating on me?”
“Dude, what? She’s my best friend. And I can’t cheat on you because you and I-,” you point at yourself and then him, “- aren’t dating.”
He grabbed your wrist and then pulled you to him, fiercely staring into your eyes and right into your soul, “Shouldn’t we change that?”
You ended up sputtering a response, not believing your ears as well as trying to put distance between yourself and him but he wasn’t letting up, pressing even closer to you until you found yourself pressed onto the back of the bed, phone tossed aside and forgotten.
Your eyes had widened when you’d found yourself pinned down to the bed with Sukuna looming over you, watching your every move, peering down at you through his dark lashes.
“What? Cat got your tongue? Date me.”
You wiggled around underneath him, attempting to get out of his grasp. Usually, you were able to get out of his hold rather easily but today you were having no such luck. Was he really this strong and where all those times he’d let you go all been for naught?
Remaining quiet, you eventually stopped moving around so that you didn’t tire yourself out and stared up at him, eyes twitching in irritation. What were you supposed to say in this situation? You couldn’t even knee him in the dick because of how he was holding you down. You were utterly trapped under his hold as well as his gaze which made you suddenly feel subconscious about your appearance.
What if he stared at you too long and began to realize that you weren’t the beautiful fantasy he had etched into his mind. You had never considered the thought until now with him staring at you so intensely.
Little did you know, this was not the first time he’d stared at you so closely, this was, however, the first time he’s been able to do this while you were awake.
Eventually, the usually fearsome and headstrong flower known as Y/N finally spoke in a rather meek way, which was out of character for them, “Why do you even want to date me? You’re more than capable of dating someone…  better.”
“Better? Who’s better than you? I’m pursuing you for a reason, stupid bunny,” he aggressively spat with a hint of venom on his tongue, easing up suddenly when he had sensed a change in your emotions and the atmosphere surrounding you, “I’m not interested in anyone else but you, so deal with it, you’re not getting rid of me.”
That answer may have pleased him but you weren’t willing to accept it so quickly. “I just don’t understand what you see in me. There are 7 billion other human beings out there and I’m sure there are some other mythical creatures that are even more amazing than me, so, why did you choose me? What’s so special about me?” Your tone of voice was starting to rub him the wrong way. Why did you sound so pathetic and weak? But then again, he had never witnessed any fear or worry from you before that wasn’t quickly overcome with stubbornness and a sense of fearlessness. This was new.
Sukuna was not the sentimental type. He was blunt, brash, and rude, Romance wasn’t something he was too well-versed in so he was a bit tongue-tied, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. There was one thing though- you were starting to piss him off with how you seemed to be belittling yourself in his presence.
“What’s wrong with you? Since when did you care about shit like that? Do you have a fever or something?”
You began to sink into your own thoughts and his words were helping you in the slightest. Instead of answering him with your usual quick wit you’d turned your head and stared elsewhere, slowly getting lost in your own thoughts.
Now he knew something was really wrong. He didn’t know how to handle this, he didn’t know what to say or do, and he wasn’t the comforting type. You weren’t aware of it but he was starting to panic now, not wanting you to feel whatever you were feeling right now anymore.
“Stop moping around, it doesn’t suit you,” he growled out, releasing you from his hold so he could stand up straight, still looking down at your expressionless face. Only then did he realize just how little he truly knew about you.
His mouth then ended up betraying him when he blurted out, “I like you because you’re you, okay? There’s no one else in the world that’s like you and I find myself cherishing your presence as well as anytime we spend together. Get out of your fucking head already. I bet you look ugly when you cry.”
Almost as he’d just muttered some magical words that broke you out of your spell, you slowly turned to look at his face and then sat up, lightly punching his arm in a joking manner, and chuckled, “Shut up. You wish you had the power to make me cry, jackass.”
Why had you begun to spiral? What made your mind swirl with doubt and fears about not being good enough for him? For anyone? What was this feeling that made you feel inadequate? You couldn’t help but unconsciously rub at your chest, attempting to soothe the dull ache that resided in your chest that you hadn’t noticed until now. Had your conversation with Sukuna brought up some memories that you had yet to acknowledge? It was so unfamiliar… yet familiar. Perhaps it was all a part of the burden of being human. Whatever it was, you didn’t like it, and what better way to deal with it than to shove it aside and distract yourself? This wasn’t healthy but what else could you do? You knew nothing else, masking the ache was your best bet. You just wanted to feel okay, you didn’t like this feeling anymore.
“Can you take me back to my place now? I’ve got to get ready to have Maki over, and if I don’t show up she’ll most certainly call my parents and I don’t want to deal with that,” you muttered, moving your hand from your chest before standing onto your feet.
While you had been deeply lost in your own thoughts you failed to notice the way he had been watching you as well as the stray tear that had made its way past your waterline.
You were caught off-guard when Sukuna had suddenly reached up and swiped away the tear with his hand, without so much as a word. He then pretended he saw nothing, opting for answering you instead, “Yeah, whatever. I’m staying the night with you though.” You muttered a thank you and blinked back any other tears that had threatened to spill.
Y/N was about to open their mouth and retort against his demand but then a realization suddenly came over them, all the pieces of an unknown puzzle they had stored in the back of the head piecing themselves together finally.
“Wait a damn minute- Sukuna, I swear to the heavens,” you began, rubbing at your temples as you recollected the past few days before finally saying, “... you were the fucker who bit me in my sleep? Weren’t you?”
“Took you long enough, idiot.”
And with that, you’d completely forgotten your sadness from before and those emotions were quickly replaced with fury.
“Demon or not, count your fucking days, Sukuna Ryomen,” you suddenly spat and then lurched forward unexpectedly, wrapping your hands around his throat to start choking him. (imagine the meme where Homer from the Simpsons is choking Bart, this is that scene)
You began choking the demon man who was shocked by the sudden development, shaking him back and forth while yelling profanities at him. He had grabbed at your wrists to peel your hands away but was surprised by your sudden strength. Wow, was this the power of human determination? Kinda hot.
Right when he had managed to peel your hands from his throat, leaving handprints on his tattooed neck, the door had swung open to reveal an exasperated individual other known as Yuuji.
“ARE YOU GUYS ALRIGHT??? WHAT’S WRONG???”
Both you and Sukuna had frozen, your face still held a look of fury as Sukuna held you firmly, your wrists in his hand. When you realized that the person was only Yuuji you took the opportunity to pull Sukuna down and kneed him in his stomach. You could have aimed for his dick but you decided to be ever-so-merciless at the end.
He’d grunted and doubled over more so in shock than in pain, releasing your wrists as a consequence.
You signed afterward and then rolled your wrists around, attempting to relax your anger. Your anger seemed to subside upon looking at Yuuji’s adorable face so you straightened yourself up and adjusted your clothes, brushing yourself off before calmly replying, “I’m fine. Him, on the other hand, he can eat shit for all I care.”
The squishy demon gasped in the most dramatic way he could muster before looking at his brother who had stood back up straight, rubbing his stomach where you had punched, “Damn, bro. Whaddya do this time? You guys are already acting like an old married couple.”
“As if. Yuuji, have you ever been to the human world before?”
Surprised by the question, he shook his head, “No, why?”
You hummed and then motioned to Sukuna, “Dipshit is gonna take me back home. Wanna come?”
“BOY, WOULD I?!” He childishly remarked, bursting into flames due to sheer excitement.
You immediately took a step back when the air around him heated up, not wanting to be collateral.
“BRAT! Control yourself, “ Sukuna growled before slapping the top of Yuuji’s head like a light switch, Yuuji’s flames immediately disappearing back into his body. Yuuji quickly realized his mistake and his face began to burn before he bashfully rubbed at the back of his neck, “S-sorry, Y/N.”
“Do you always burst into flames when you get emotional?”
“O-only sometimes! Not all the time, I can usually control myself but I just haven’t been this excited in quite some time.”
You chuckled at the thought, still thinking of him as an adorable little puppy, “How cute. Well, guess we better get going then. I don’t know exactly how I got here but I don’t want to take any chances.” You then paused, silently contemplating something before speaking again, “And to answer your question from earlier, Sukuna… My answer is fine, but if you fuck this up I’m going to do much worse than choke you out.”
Eyes nearly boggling out of his head at your acceptance of him he was beyond shocked but, of course, him being him he played it cool and responded in a way that suited him.
“Tch, you should be elated that I even asked a lowly human like you out in the first place. Do you know how many human men and women I’ve rejected just because I only have eyes for you? You should be grateful that you managed to catch the eye of the great, Sukuna Ryomen,” he replied, puffing up his chest in pride. His words soon sparked another childish fight between the two of you, bickering and light hits being exchanged.
Yuuji watched with his usual smile on his face, the smile stretched across his entire face but never met his eyes. He looked at the two of you with a hidden feeling of jealousy. To be completely honest, he’d been eavesdropping the entire time the two of you had been conversing. He heard everything the two of you had said and began to formulate his own plan, happily using his idiot cutie persona to the best of his advantage. But the question was, who exactly was he jealous of in this situation? Perhaps it was the closeness between the two of you that had made him crave something deeper in his own lacking relationships. Did he envy your closeness to his brother, wishing he had a similar feeling of comfort with the older demon, or did he envy Sukuna for finding you first? He truly didn’t know but what better way to find out than to spend more time with the two of you and sort out his own feelings. He wasn’t as smart as his father or Sukuna but he didn't need smarts when he had his surefire instincts.

Is Yuuji a new yandere to worry about? :v The world may never know, tune in next week on Dragon Ball Z. Just kidding, hehe. Sorry for the late chapter, I was struggling with what I wanted to write next and had started aimlessly typing with no real plan. At first, I didn’t like where this was going but then the more I started writing the more ideas came to mind! So shout out to my brain for being the real MVP! See ya later! And don’t forget that the taglist for this series is still open!

SukuIta and SukuGo for the ship bingo :D
I'm very surprised that you're asking about the first ship, the second one not so much because it's for the meme. But the first one I know you don't ship in any way and you've already been a good sport about sometimes letting me talk about it XD.
Also I'm not sure if you meant just one of the bingos or both so it did both. Either way.
SukuGo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I will say about my attitude towards this ship is meant to be treated lightly because I don't give a shit about what people ship. Like whatever makes you happy and floats your boat.
I don't ship Gojou at all, I find his personality so off-putting that any shipping of him for me could only happen if he successfully achieved quite a significant character development arc. Which he did not in canon. The way he is I find all potential queer ships with him queerphobic, any het ships with him misogynist. Like no one deserves to have to deal with Gojou because canon has proven over and over again that Gojou can't be arsed to actually consider anyone else's needs, especially emotional needs, than his own. We've talked about stsg at some point (me nad cursed vibes not some royal we XD) and I agree with you about that, yes, he can have that dumb edgy fascist but I'd rather not think about it too much.
And someone can accuse me of hypocrisy here. They can say: but Sukuna is also evil, and a supremacist etc etc. And they'd be 100% correct, this is purely pettiness and spite. And the fact that og form Sukuna is the sexiest character in JJK and Gojou's generic by the dozen white boy blue eyed couldn't bore more.
Also in canon Sukuna has aroace vibes, don't force him into relationships, he doesn't want that!
But you ship him with Yuuji, or with Uraume.
When it comes to shipping him with Gojou, Sukuna is aroace hard canon and people should just leave him alone!
I marked the little star on the platonic, because as the true hypocrite I am, I am planning to write a scene with them in one of my fics. And they will be in fact on friendly terms and it's going to be kinda goofy and lighthearted because that's my comfort fic. And someone actually mentioned Gojou by name, saying they hope he appears and I had an idea of how I could incorporate him... though I'm not sure people who like him will appreciate. That being said the more spite or pettiness I put into my Kurapika, the more their fans love them. And Gojou fans might be like that.

On the consume/create bingo I took certain liberty with how to interpret the tiles with "only". I interpreted it that I'd consume/create fics/pieces art which solely focused on the thing, and not that I'd only like to read/see works with that particular thing. Because that'd make it impossible to get bingo on certain lines. I mean "nothing" makes it kinda impossible on two already.
A double bingo on the first one, a triple on the second. Not bad for a ship I stumbled into through the process of elimination. And considering that initially I was only interested in finding a ship for Yuuji I could find enjoyable fics for. And while I like Sukuna as an antagonist, I didn't really care that much about him. Recently I really stared to like him more because Gege is finally developing him as a character and it's fun and also close to what I imagined him to be like.
And there's also a large difference between what I'd read/look at or have read/looked, and what I'd write or have written.
But this ship is so good because done well it's extremely high intensity.

Hello, I'm new to the jujutsu fandom, I've already watched season 1 of the movie and I'm in season 2 of jujutsu, I also follow the jujutsu manga, I liked your tumblr and started following you, I like your analyzes and you make me understand more jujutsu, thank you. I have a question, don't you think Sukuna is a boring villain, sorry, but he's too annoying, even Mahito is more interesting than him and it's impressive that Mahito gave more weight to the work than Sukuna, Sukuna killed Gojo and his death It had no significance in the work, it's something terrible, I think the author got lost.
Ah thank you so much! Glad the blog could add to the JJK experience!
Personally, I am getting a little tired of Sukuna never being phased. I'd understand his constant victories if we got more insight into his Cursed Technique but we still have no explanation for what he is and how he came to be, very little Sukuna info has been unlocked since the beginning so it feels kind of frustrating for me.
I can't tell what the author is thinking, but I think the number of deaths is getting to us as readers. People just keep on losing and dying with little impact on those that are alive. Deaths had a huge impact at the start of the story. Like S1, Junpei's death shook Yuuji so bad that he entirely changed his way of thinking. But he only knew Junpei for like a day. So when characters like Nanami, Nobara, Gojo and many more people that Yuuji has known for months die, I think equal levels of impact is expected on Yuuji.
But that doesn't happen.
We don't know Yuuji's mental state after witnessing his teacher die. The excessive focus on fights without slowing down to let the characters grieve or process what they've seen is likely impacting how we see Sukuna, his fights, and his powers.
Like why wasn't Yuuji freaking out more when Higurama died? What was he really going through when he saw Higurama and got reminded of Nanami? A moment's pause, just focused on the grief of that could up the stakes and make Sukuna, if not interesting, at least someone we can hate more.
Emotions and character interactions are what gives a story stakes. We care that Gojo died not only because he's the only person who can stand up against Sukuna, but also because he is someone we connected with emotionally from S1. His death will make characters we love devastated.
When you take away the emotion, the sense of loss and don't show that, the fights become boring. Yuuji's still moving and seems to hold the same attitude as the beginning of Culling Games while fighting Sukuna right now after witnessing multiple deaths.
You could say he's hardened his heart and has gone numb to everything but that's speculation as readers, it'd be way more meaningful if we see Yuuji falling into that kind of state, or be shown to have some kind of emotion and reaction.
My one big critique for JJK is pacing. It's fight after fight after fight. Okay, bad take when the manga is literally called "Sorcery Fight" but I am no stranger to manga/anime entirely focused on fighting (I've read a weirdly high amount of martial arts and hand to hand combat manga). Even in most fight-centric stories, we get breaks, we get characters talking to each other. Like how come we STILL haven't gotten a proper, extended interaction between Yuuji and Yuuta that isn't a fight? Has Yuuji even spoken to Maki? How does Ino feel about Choso?
I think it's why I enjoyed the Yuki v Kenjaku fight more. The fight was interspersed with moments of character interaction.
No stakes and impact makes it boring. Sukuna's the most dangerous villain now and he keeps defeating people without proper explanation or faltering in any real way so like, why would we care? Sukuna's going to win against anyone that isn't Yuuji, so what's the point? It used to be fun for me to try to understand how Sukuna does the things he does. I still enjoy watching him beat the shit outta people but i do admit it's getting tiring.
Sure, the CT and Domain expansions whenever an improvement is shown are very cool but it'd help if we could slow down a little and talk about the character interactions. Honestly Sukuna himself can remain a mystery but our MCs should get more backstory and emotional moments.

Forgotten Curse: Sukuna x Curse! Reader: Chapter 19:
Tumblr media
"Are the containers all set over there?" The curse asks Gojo who is crouching down, hyper focused on the mechanism of the contraption.
"How do you know this will work?" Gojo lifts his gaze and turns his head toward her.
"I don't know if the mechanism will work properly. But! I do know science won't fail me." She splays her fingers against her chest and tilts her nose up in confidence.
Gojo shakes his head all the while his lip curves upward. "Then what about the spikes? Won't it take too long to make so many of them for each trap?"
The curse jumps up from the giant hole she made and stares down at him from above. "Has my digging not proved that we can make it in time?"
"How did you learn how to dig that fast anyway?" Gojo pushes himself up and wipes off any dirt from his pants.
"Well, let's just say I'm fond of building sand fortresses." She turns her back to the hole and inspects her work from every angle. Making sure to go back and forth to each hole not checked yet.
"Don't you mean sand castles?" Gojo says while somehow rock-climbing out of the abomination of a pit trap they have both created.
"No, I mean fortresses. With one tiny shovel I made moats to survive hours from the torment of waves within the hour." Her eyes narrowed and she peered up at the moon basking in the nostalgia of the beachy memory. A silent 'heh' came out at her glory only she knew of.
Gojo waited for her to say more but that was all there was the memory. It was a fleeting moment. "Then are you fond of beaches?"
A long silence dwelled between the two before she took a breath to respond. "This isn't the time to be dwelling on the past. We don't have much time left until the festival. Do you know how Itadori's training has been coming along?"
"There hasn't been much progress he has only been dealing with missions suited to his skill level." Gojo combed his fingers through his hair which sprang back up into place as usual.
"I'd like to keep it that way...But we both know that isn't possible. At least with the knowledge I have I want to help lift some of that burden if only a little." The curse finds herself caught off guard by how tightly she is holding onto her clothes. She releases her vice-grip and mechanically repeats the motion of closing her hand into a fist and opening it back up again.
"One plan at a time. We may not have all the answers now. So, let's focus on making these traps the highest quality." Gojo wraps his arm around her shoulder pulling her in for a side hug.
Y/n freezes up from the action and out of reflex dips out of his hold in a spin pivot. "Too close." She mutters to herself.
"At least you'll be able to react in time during battle." Gojo gives a wide grin.
"I don't intend on getting friendly with you so put the idea out of your head." She says pointing to the next trap location on the map Gojo drew. "We have to make sure all of these are camouflaged well into the environment. Or enough that when in a rush it can't be avoided."
"I'm on it then." Gojo strolled off to collect the materials with a skip in his step.
"He must be planning on slacking off or doing something else." The curse rubbed her forehead trying to make sense of this whole situation. Her heartbeat was suffocating her when she was reminded there was less than a week left until the festival.
***
“How long do you plan on ignoring me for?” Sukuna asked again for the umpteenth time. His eye twitched from the lack of response.
“I’m so bored.” He sighed and leaned against his throne staring at the gaping hole connecting their domains. He imagined if he stared long enough, she might materialize out of thin air from his willpower alone. But of course, nothing happened.
“She uses me to get stronger and then leaves. Just when I was starting to…” He stopped himself and got angrier at the thought. “I really want to wring someone neck out.” His expression darkened and he had an itch to kill. The tension from the anger only made it worse as there was nothing to take out his rage on.
Then a good idea popped into his head, “Perfect.” He said laughing to himself with a mischievous smile. “How could I not realize such a good idea sooner.” He praised himself for the idea and made his way to her domain.
“Should I do some damage then?” His face made the simplest expression of the darkest happiness. Sukuna was ready with cursed energy in hand and aimed to melt the crystalline cavern when she appeared.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Ah, do you think you can speak to me that way?” Sukuna launched an arrow made of cursed energy at the icicles thinking of it as target practice. The arrow was met with a wave of liquid nitrogen which soaked Sukuna in the process.
“How about you cool off?” Y/n said beaming all the while light bounced off her to make her appear almost ethereal.
“Don’t tell me what to do.” Sukuna ran a hand through his frosted hair which was tamer than usual. He slicked it back moving the strands out of his line of sight. Some of the smaller strands were frozen in place making it stick up in certain places. When he finally brought his attention back to her, he realized she didn’t take her eyes off of him. “What?”
“Nothing, you just look different.” She said rubbing the back of her neck. Leaning away from him she covered her mouth and talked to herself in a hushed tone, “Elegant.”
“If you’re going to say something, say it…To. My. Face.” With each punctuated word he stepped closer to her without a second thought.
It wasn’t anything bad if that’s what you’re thinking.” She stayed facing away from him as he was no more than a footstep away from her.
“What are you planning?” Sukuna leaned up to her face to survey her facial expressions.
Her eyes flitted to his for not even a second and time itself froze.
“I’m making traps…” She dared not to finish when he was this close in proximity. She gulped from the distance trying not to remember the times when he killed her up close. Wavering in her confidence she shut her eyes and let her mind wander. Yet it made the situation worse when she heard his voice up close.
“What kind of traps?”
She cracked one of her eyes open to see Sukuna curious about what she was going to say next. Regaining her resolve she forced her mouth to form words, “Liquid nitrogen bombs with wooden spikes at the bottom of a pit.”
“Tell me more. Why are you making them now? For what purpose…” He took a step back and decided to circle around behind her.
She let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. In spite of that she almost stopped breathing when Sukuna dragged a finger down her spine.

YT JTA: *focused doing task on laptop at 1 am*
Gojo: *slowly pops up from behind her* ...
YT JTA: *doesn't notice him*
Gojo: ...
Gojo: What are you doing!?
YT JTA: AH! *falls out of chair* ow
Gojo: Whoops
YT JTA: Don't you know better than to sneak up on people? *gets up*
Gojo: You do it all the time
YT JTA: Touché *sits back down in chair* What brings you over here?
Gojo: Got bored, Jaz in here shifted back to her boring early version so I thought I'd find you since you're fun
YT JTA: Makes sense, I don't blame ya-
Gojo: Why does she do that?
YT JTA: Do what?
Gojo: One hour Jaz is the one after fate, the next she's the one sulking about her separation from her brother
YT JTA: Ah, right, ya see since this place exists in basically my mind, Jaz's shifts to whatever I'm thinking of in terms of timeline- how do I word it- if I'm thinking of the early timeline events and how she was there, then that's what she becomes, and then there's also the fact I'm trying piece everything together in a timeline, so it's a little messy
Gojo: I see
YT JTA: *goes back to doing computer task*
Gojo: So what are you doing?
YT JTA: Making a playlist for Jazmine and Sukuna since I felt bad he hasn't gotten one yet and Hisoka did
Gojo: *looks at the songs* Why are the songs picked like it's a love between Romeo and Juliet?
YT JTA: What do you mean?
Gojo: All the other playlists made from your template had a bit of a romance in there but it was mainly just hurt/comfort- as you call it- this feels more romance than just hurt/comfort
YT JTA: Really?
Gojo: I was thinking it'd be more sinister like that Hisoka playlist
YT JTA: Well, Hisoka and Jaz are more fight each other to the death whereas Sukuna and Jaz are fight side by side to create death, and it is a playlist for Jazmine and Sukuna, not the King and Queen of curses
Gojo: Aren't they the same thing?
YT JTA: Yes, but this shows their love is more malice against society, in fact the more I think about it, the two have a love connection more intimate than most here
L: That explains why he's one of the few married to Jazmine
Gojo: When you get here?
L: A moment ago, author-chan needs to go to sleep
YT JTA: But I'm not done -
L: It's 3 am, and you have a job now
YT JTA: Fuck...

something about older brother sukuna hits different gender neutral!reader, just fluff <3
imagine being in uni, and dating your best friend’s sexy, “mysterious” older brother... he pulls up in his fancy expensive car after your classes have ended in front of ur uni to take u away on a nice date! everyones eyeing you enviously as you run into his arms...
yuuji, megumi and nobara:🧍‍♀️
youre apologising to them as u hop into his car 😂
sukuna’s favourite thing to do is snatching you away from your friends so he can hang out w you instead 😈
whenever ur at yuuji's place with the others to hang out, hes always loitering around, arms coming around you from behind when ur rummaging for snacks in their kitchen, catches u in the hallway to give u a little kiss
or maybe if yall are watching a film, he sneaks in beside u on the sofa and drapes an arm over your shoulder
later yuuji complains abt catching yall making out behind them while they were focused on the film HAHAHA
sukunas like: 🤷‍♂️🙄
so then yall stop hanging out at yuujis place cuz sukuna cant keep his hands off u when ur around lmfaoao
is super flashy on purpose to let them college kids know that youre taken
hes mature but immature
let me explain
sukunas mature when it matters and when it gets serious
but normally hes such a filthy tease, pesters you non stop bc hes bored and youre the only one he tolerates (adores)
back when you were younger he’d often pull at your nose or pinch the cheeks of your face
that fuckin prank where he pretends to feed u something, but pulls away and eats it himself at the last second !!!! grrr its so annoying especially bc hes being all smug abt it and laughing that sexy laugh of his when you get rightfully sulky at him
bites you if you do it back to him tho HAHAHA
usually leads to sexy time
when youve been busy studying for a while and havent seen him bc of it, he facetimes you and demands you put your phone somewhere he can still see you
being on the call in complete silence, just doing his own thing while ur busy lmao
most of your dates are just going out to eat together lol
totally the type to take the seat next to you rather than in front of you
that way he can steal from your plate more easily AND be touching you in some way, either hand on thigh or arm over shoulders
usually finishes faster than you and while he waits hes just smiles at you while you eat, occasionally wiping the corner of your mouth with his thumb if you get some sauce on it or something
was supposed to be stuff abt him as an older brother but ended up being just like a general relationship hcs 😃 😃 😃
