friendship headcanons for Eric and Hyde.

They read the whole Lord of the Rings/Hobbit series together. (They also watch all the movies, once those come out.) Hyde reads them because several Led Zeppelin songs are LOTR inspired, and Hyde wanted to see that inspiration.

Eric gets relationship advice from Hyde sometimes after he and Jackie have been dating for a while.

Until Bonham's death and the group's subsequent end, Hyde and Eric always listen to new Led Zeppelin albums together for the first time. They've done this since Led Zeppelin IV came out when they were 11.

Whenever they have circles with just the two of them, they put on Pink Floyd. And they try to interpret the music. It's never accurate. One time in 1980, Eric goes on a whole long interpretation of Waiting For The Worms and how it's about birds waking up early to eat worms (the song is really about a fake dictatorship in The Wall's overall story). Hyde just listens and agrees with it, then they listen to the song again once they're sober and they see how wrong they are.

Legolas Greenleaf (LOTR) - based more off of the movies than the books. oc is half elf half sorceress and she goes on Bilbo’s adventure .. eventually meeting Legolas in mirkwood and then fighting with him in the battle of five armies. after the battle, she finds him again and begs him to take her with him because she doesn’t want to go back to her old life again. they go on a bunch of adventures. oc is besties w aragorn. 

Lemony Snicket (ASOUE) - as in his entity as a character in the series, not the author himself (more the tv show than the books even though the books were my ENTIRE childhood) ((the author’s actual name is daniel handler and he’s a lovely person)) anyways, 

my advice for you first and foremost is to never fall in love with a writer

especially if that writer is a prominent member of a secret organization

especially especially if said writer is committed to uncovering and documenting the sad lives of three orphans, the children of a past lover who has died tragically

my name is odessa denouement and I am begging you to put this book down and go read something more pleasant, such as the littlest elf or a story that doesn't involve pain, suffering, and a general lack of morals

odessa and lemony meet when their VFD missions overlap and they’re forced into a number of highly dangerous situations together. features a tragic ending. 

Percy Weasley and Oliver Wood (HP) - because we all know they were in love. probably their last years of hogwarts into the second war. focuses a lot on percy going to the dark side. probably pretty angsty.

Will Turner (POTC)- oc is Jack Sparrow’s daughter. she’s super cool. raised by pirates. best parental relationship I’ve ever written (I usually go for the really shitty parent trope, but this time their relationship is rlly soft and makes me happy) anyways, she falls in love with will turner and it’s hot. 

Beatrice and Phillipa (HP) - cute lesbians in gryffindor (golden trio era). should probably read my bill weasley series first because it’s a spinoff. would probably be their fifth year to sometime around the end of the war. main focus would be bea’s shift to the dark side. 

FP Jones (Riverdale) - gotta preface this one with the fact that I hate riverdale as much as the next guy (sorry riverdale fans) I mean . the show’s insane. BUT FP is what got me through it. so this is the story of him and jughead’s mom in the 80s , then there’s a time jump to the first or second season. going to be short but cute. 

Steven Hyde (that 70s show) - NOT played by d*nny m*sterson. anyways, oc moves to point place from nyc with her mom (who kinda sucks -yes, we’re back to the shitty parent trope-) falls for hyde and it’s rly angsty. at some point she lives in hyde’s old house but i’m not sure exactly when bc idk what season I want to start the season on. she’s also best friends with jackie because I’m in love with jackie. 

Regulus and Marlene (HP) - umm so to be completely honest I don’t know what the plan was for this one. the only thing it says in the draft is “marlene is a slytherin”. I think I was high when I made it. but I feel like there’s some sort of potential there so we’ll see what happens. 

Remus Lupin (HP) - either wolfstar or a slytherin oc or maybe regulus I don’t know. I have some ideas for scenes, but no specific people or genders or really any details at all. I just know I’m in love with remus and want to write about him and his sweaters. 

Jesse Pinkman (Breaking Bad) - oc and jesse keep meeting by chance. first it’s because she’s staying at his parent’s house out of necessity (ep 2), then it’s because she’s Jane’s roommate, then it’s at Jane’s funeral. they keep saying they’re parting ways. that they’ll never see each other again, but it doesn’t work. one way or another, they’ll end up together. 

Minerva McGonagall and Pomona Sprout (HP) - one of my fav ships ever. would start in their sixth year and there would be a few major time jumps over the course of the story. very soft relationship. 

Peter Parker (MCU) - oc has powers over the elements. recruited to the avengers by tony stark. in the process of said transition, hydra attacks her family and oc is filled with rage. throughout the story, she lives with different members of the avengers (she moves around a lot) and she and peter have a friends to lovers sort of thing.

Daniel Desario (Freaks and Geeks) - charlotte’s been friends with the freaks since she was a kid. she’s been on-again-off-again dating nick since middle school, she has mixed feelings about kim, ken is her favorite person ever, and she is hopelessly in love with Daniel. when lindsay comes into the picture and things shift dramatically, charlotte finally has the chance to shoot her shot. 

Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds) - word for word what I have in my drafts:

ummmmm so we've got a main character named ummmmmm sophie or phoebe or something and shes like blonde and short and only three months older than reid and sup super smart like with math and science and stuff and she graduated early and has a doctorate and is smart and stuff but doesnt really tell anyone and looks kinda sloppy and has a really relaxed attitude and we love her - she almost dropped out of high school because she was bored but then agent gideon was like dude come on ill give u a job (or something?)

oh and her parents and little brother died in a fire when she was eight only her older brother survived and they are super close she loves him so much but she has some trauma from constantly being sent to foster homes where nodbody wanted to keep her bc shes difficult and also like watching her parents die so she has a HUGE fear of fire and an irrational fear of big dogs

ANYWAYS starts off with her at her house and she's just hangin she has a cat and she's making herself dinner and she's one of those super cute single bi girls who likes her plants and her music and her science bookstore

friends in college story (an original work) - okay so I wanna go to film school (I want to be a screenwriter) and this is an original script I’ve been working on but I might adapt parts of it to a story. basically it’s like a dark academia sitcom where a bunch of liberal, progressive kids go to this rural, ultra-christian college for different reasons and find each other and become the ELITE friend group. obviously it would have a better name than the “friends in college story” although now it’s sort of growing on me

the new tragedy (an original work) - “sometimes i need to remind myself that you existed. You were real, you were so real. your hair was real, your crooked smile was real. the way you couldnt talk in the morning before you’d had your coffee, or how you could never get to sleep at night without an episode of whatever show you were obsessing over in the moment. oh my god. you were real. 

she looked like death. the guy, not the concept. sallow skin and dark, sunken eyes that absorbed all of the light and trapped it, holding it hostage and never letting it out. when she smiled, the light poured all over her, like she was taking a shower in it. when she frowned, she looked like a storm cloud. I loved her. I loved her so much.

but yeah Max and Jackie are not always the 'formal date' kind of guys, when they were together originally even before they started actually dating they loved working on cases together and when they would solve a case or catch some bad guys or something like that they would always just go to a restaurant or diner and just eat a ton of food together. sometimes totally beat up or exhausted, still in their work clothes, they'd just go eat like ten pounds of curry and naan or a ton of hashbrowns and pancakes and bacon or just order a bunch of pizza and breadsticks and take it to a rooftop somewhere. it was how they celebrated. and where they fell in love. things were always very simple and easy at the time. nothing really romantic, except when they managed to admit they were into each other and kissed for the first time on a rooftop looking out over the beach. with a ton of pizza of course.

but for other date ideas they definitely like to

see lots of movies!! Max is a big movie buff and Jackie loves anything with superheroes so they see a ton of movies. the first thing they will do together now is watch Black Panther 2 together (this is a little in the future of course) because Jackie loves Black Panther and Max loves Shuri. it's just their favorite all-around. but basically what Max wants to do is re-introduce Jackie to some of the interests he loved so much but forgot about. so they'll have a movie marathon!! and play lots of video games

Max can re-introduce him to Brighton as well and pull him around town and show him all the places they fell in love

one day Max wants to take him back to India for a whole big trip. in England he always likes making Jackie tons of Indian food and cooking for him. spicy spicy spicy. Jackie insists he can out-spice Max, he's very determined and will eat til he's crying from the heat

Max wants to buy him things and will take him to the shops and get him lots of presents. pretty much anything Jackie looks at Max would get for him haha. even just cute useless things. so Jackie can have hobbies and interests and things of his own again

all of this makes Jackie want to treat Max so one day he's going to plan a whole weekend for them to go out to the country a little and do like nature walks and explore a new town and see lots of sheep and cows and eat good food together

they try "just being friends" for a while to make sure Jackie's comfortable but they're too in love and just fall back together. but they don't consider each other engaged right now or anything. so one day one of them will get to propose to the other again. you can imagine that however you please <3

since Jackie is getting re-introduced to all his old hobbies and that sort of thing, some of their dates just end up being things like: reading together for six hours. Max lying against him and watching him play Breath of the Wild. full extended edition LOTR tournament where they just sit in silence watching with rapt attention (Max's attention is on Jackie)

there's a lot of just quiet time reassuring each other they're really here

and eating lots of food of course

Hi, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. I’ve been feeling a bit out of it: probably just running out of steam from coping with the state of the world. I haven’t been watching a lot but some progress has been made.

I’m almost halfway through Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, which has thankfully been so far a fun note to end my big project now. At least until the next boxed set gets released. If one is released; though I am resigned to the idea of there being re-releases of all seasons in 2023.

Though I’m genuinely hopeful about new LOTR merchandise for the 20th anniversary of the films.

Pokémon Sun & Moon continues to be my comfort show; I’m almost done with reviewing the first season.

After finishing the meandering but enjoyable 2nd season of Jackie Chan Adventures, I went on to watch the Onderon arc of TCW. I am worried that the whole 5th season will be as wistful as that arc, but I do want to try to watch it.

I’m over halfway through BBC Merlin. Gwen and Arthur are adorable together, while Morgana’s villainy feels overwrought a lot of the time. Merlin himself is definitely in over his head.

At this point, I’ve tweaked my plan to do a Traders post a month because that show keeps getting forgotten in favor of the ones listed above. As much as I like Grant, the complex financial situations make it hard for me to be invested. Heh, invested. ... sorry.

Moving on; I’ve started Ronan’s Ordeal story but it’s somewhat bleak so I need to get in at least a marginally better headspace before finishing it. I still need to finish Do No Harm & Blood Ties, especially before even considering any further SG novel purchases.

Though maybe I’ll get on my Jane Austen reread instead. Hmm.

1) IF YOU COULD TRAVEL TO ONE PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE? Honestly, I’ve never been outside the USA, so there are a lot of places, but some of my top destinations would be Japan, Italy (Venice more specifically), or South Korea!

2) WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME AWAY FROM SIMS? Play other video games, watch anime/cartoons/tv shows, draw, write, make characters, listen to music, edit videos, and read (admittedly, less than I would like to)!

3) WHAT OTHER GAMES DO YOU PLAY BESIDES THE SIMS? SO MANY right now I’m playing Rune Factory 4 and Animal Crossing : New Horizons, but some other favorite titles and franchises include Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Guild Wars, Splatoon, Ace Attorney, Story of Seasons, Yo-kai Watch, Tales games, Legend of Zelda and ... like so, so many more lmao

I was probably in my twenties when I last climbed a tree, but I climbed them all the time as a kid. I’m still very sure-footed.

College: If you built a themed hotel, what would the theme be and what would the rooms look like?

I want to say Art Deco, but there’s a lot of Art Deco hotels you can stay in.  If I could have ANY theme it would be an LOTR Elven hotel on the edge of Woodland. You could choose which type of kingdom to stay in; an elegant Lothlorien flet style room with white Art Nouveau wood, all sparkling and clean. An autumnal, cosy Rivendell room with natural Art Nouveau wood and decorative flora. A darker, snug Mirkwood Halls room with arched roofs and intricately carved columns of stone, flaming sconces, earthenware and jewels across the ceiling sparkling like the night sky.

for the sleepover weekend thing - what movies would you recommend to people who wanted to know you better?

This is hard…I’ll try my best :D

Lord of the Rings - not really a recommendation since everyone has seen it but it’s important because I’m seriously one of the biggest lotr fans you will ever meet in your LIFE. I’ve read the books multiple times, know just about every single detail about everything Tolkien created, I can quote it wayyyy too much, I’ve written multiple essays on themes and characters (some critical of Tolkien’s attitudes towards race and the ways in which fandom fails to address them)… Middle-earth always holds a special nostalgia for me.

Ghibli movies!!!!!! They are a comfort food!!! Always good to rewatch on a rainy day or when you’re feeling down.

Moonlight is an all time fave, and anyone who hasn’t seen it really needs to. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s probably the best movie I’ve ever seen.

I used to be really into martial arts movies but that was just because I wanted to do martial arts. (And I did mma for 4 years or so before needing to have surgery which stopped my training.) Now watching them, or watching the UFC or something is boring to me. I’d rather be in the ring myself and watching it is just kinda ehhhhh. Still, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen are all still faves and I have fond memories of watching those movies :)

I wasn’t tagged but I stole this from @elissastillstands​ EDIT: @interluxetumbra actually tagged me a bit after I started this. Some of the questions were answered up to nine days ago. NOTE: I filled out most of this like last June, and yes its January now. That only really pertains to time sensitive questions, like the outfit one. I'm still five four.

Favorite band: *cracks knuckles* Smashing Pumpkins, Radkey, Ramones, Type O Negative, Tool, Dead Kennedys, Rob Zombie, KMFDM, Jane's Addiction, and like I dunno brah I've been listening to a lot of Ministry lately.

[This question always makes me feel like I gotta answer as thoroughly as possible but that's too much to ask and people are just so JUDGEY about so many things I like and maybe it's because I've become friends with some of these sorts of people but I've just been really stressed out about it lately. I'm twenty six I shouldn't have to deal with this still.]

Favorite solo artist: I feel like I don’t really like that many solo artists because they don’t often fall into the flavor of sound I groove to (but perhaps I could think of more if I sit here long enough), but Elle King needs more attention, I love her and her whole debut album.

Favorite colors: Golden poppy orange, reddish orange, magenta, turquoise. The 70s.

Wearing: Aftershock 2015 Bear Flag festival t-shirt, distressed light denim shorts and sandals. It’s hot up here in Northern California, and I just bleached my hair, so I didn’t want to wear anything nice.

Last thing I googled: The hair dye I am going to put over the bleach, whether or not I absolutely need the developer (I do.). Update: My hair is mostly dark pink now. Update: 7 months or so later, my hair is back to normal. Also that developer is good for getting yellowing stains out of plastic.

Last show I watched: Haven’t been watching much TV, I was rewatching project runway with my boyfriend who hadn’t yet seen all of them a month or two ago, and I occasionally check back in with Steven Universe at work (it’s okay, it’s one of the licensed properties we have, it’s research.) OH WHAT AM I SAYING. Boyfriend and I rewatched the 10th Kingdom because we both loved it as kids and wanted to experience it again together. 

Last movie I watched: Two Towers, almost done. I haven’t seen LotR since it was in theaters, so I wanted to see if I liked them more this time around (I was 9, things were confusing. Also I think I forgot to wear my glasses when I saw Return of the King, that one is literally blurry.....heeeh.) Update: We’re on to Return of the King but it turned out to be the extended cut so not sure how I feel about that. It may have been Two Towers that was blurry after all. Update: I think it was most of Mandy.

Lucky number: I feel like every filled out one of these I read picked multiples of 3 or something so I don’t want to seem like an utter basic thief, but, you know, I WAS born on the third. 

Why did I choose my url: Turquoise Skye was my hippie name, this blog was supposed to be quasi satire, some pseudo hippie chick's blog. But then it turned out I was kinda a pseudo hippie chick in some ways, and it evolved into this photo inspirational exploration of all the sunny parts of me. (I have a blog for my moon side too. And Mars. The crab parts of me. See astrology question. And @decadent-devil )

When did I create my blog: summer 2011 right after graduating high school. I started this account and @blubbingbeautifully , my primary I can't get rid of, in 2009 I think.

What do I post: I've got a link on my main page that answers that question at length, although it may be slightly outdated. Doing all these asks and surveys is more recent due to the polypocalypse, I miss talking to people.

Average hours of sleep: 7. I commute an hour to work, I wake up at 5. Update: I no longer do this! But I moved just in time to be displaced by a wildfire! But my apartment survived! But there is no water! So I live with my coworker! And only commute 25 minutes. And I get the same amount of sleep somehow.

Dream trip: I'm in Italy and all I do is look at art and eat all day every say for about three weeks.

Instruments: Do I play any or which do I like? Because I play absolutely zero. And I like all the ones that go into hard rock. And the fiddle, which is the devil’s instrument; I have a fiddle weakness.

How many blankets do I sleep with: all of them in the winter, but at least one except on those hottest hot summer nights.
