it was my birthday yesterday: predicting my 23rd year based on my solar return chart
i think this is fun to do, so feel free to comment or reblog what you think will happen this year to me based on my chart, while i make my own predictions for my solar return chart. feel free to treat this as a solar return observation post! perhaps next year i will come back and see if my predictions were correct!
first things first i have to point out this is a 2023/2024 chart i always get funny looks for this but hi i turned 23 on october 27th, 2023 (this year my solar return starts the 28th because of the eclipse - i suspect) why would i look at a 2024 solar return that takes place october 27th, 2024 - i would be 24 then? so from this point on EVEN WHEN WE ARE IN 2024 i will be referring to the 2023 chart for the solar return year. make sure you verify your stuff before looking at your solars.
Tumblr media
1H IN LIBRA AT 12° (contains: scorpio sun and narcissus (37117))
prediction: there is likely to be a relational focus this year and with venus (the house ruler) in the 12h it is likely to be with myself (what us my relationship with my self? how can i better treat myself? etc). my diplomacy skills are likely not going to be the best as i look at the 10h/11h, what is sitting in those houses, and that pisces degree on my 1h... with my scorpio sun present in the house, it is likely that it will be obvious that i trust no one this year (people may suspect that i only trust myself - they could feel as though i look down on them or think little of them). my sun is opposite my moon so i might feel a bit disconnected from myself... with my sun in the 1h, i will likely have a super intense vibe (not that i don't already) but in a way that seems like magnetism because it is a libra 1h? like drawing others in? i do feel like this year is going to be the sort where i am discovering who i am and who i want to be (i just have to make sure it doesn't get out of hand with the sun and narcissus (especially with his conjunction to my sun, mercury, and mars) present).
2H IN SCORPIO AT 9° (contains: scorpio mercury, mars, and kassandra (114) AND sagittarius educatio (2440) and pythia (432))
prediction: what an interesting mix of stuff i have here... money makes the world go round this year i guess. my mercury is at 9° and my mars is at 11° - can i just cry a little...? bro wtf is bitcoin and why do i feel like i am gonna get into the world of online investing...? the coupling of these two planets (especially mars as the 2h ruler) makes me feel as though i will be making money and spending it or moving it relatively quick so that i can't use it? i say "i can't use it" because my mars opposes jupiter which makes me think of compounding interest like a CD... anywho, i am a money wizard? i have kassandra and pythia here, so i feel like i will probably make investments and use my money in unexpected ways (kassandra makes me think of emergency funds OR bad financial contracts though). i also have educatio here so at least i will be learning more about financial literacy plus i do think with mercury i will be extremely interested in learning more about finances. and with mars... it might just become a new passion of mine... aside from money, while i am likely to continue a lot of giving and receiving of knowledge this next year on social media (mercury things), there is a danger to the realm of social media... ESPECIALLY with mars present and both mercury and mars conjunct my sun then all three opposing jupiter... my self worth could take a hit which i do not look forward to.
3H IN SAGITTARIUS AT 10° (contains: sagittarius ambrosia (193), asclepius (4581), cupido (763), jormungandr (471926) rx, lev tolstoj (2810), and zeus (5731) AND capricorn aphrodite (1388) and chekhov (2369))
prediction: sagittarius and 10° for the 3h is giving "it's all fun and games until someone says/mentions ____". i have to be mindful of my mouth because while i am likely to make people feel alive with my words given ambrosia and asclepius in this house, i also have chekhov (where you want simplicity but receive drama), aphrodite, and jormungandr (where people try to end you - aka getting socially outcasted/cancelled) in the 3h... but lev tolstoj is here too so whatever i am saying that offends others or makes them mad is facts even though there is drama/gossip involved when i do say these things... the dangers of social media part 2? i feel like it may be romantic drama because zeus (i am not a zeus person because there are no aspects to the sun or asc - only a square is made from this asteroid to my venus), cupido, and aphrodite (and for aphrodite there are no aspects made to my inner planets this solar return - so it is definitely not me doing something sus like cheating) are here in the house too. i do have my suspicions as to what is happening already... and oh shiiii will it hurt because 10° is always a bit painful in my opinion. especially with the house ruler in the 8h... it just looks like emotional damage...
4H IN CAPRICORN AT 14° (contains: capricorn pluto, balder (4059), and bellerophon (1808)
prediction: a lot of my astro friends who see this chart are like "oh are you moving?" and i am like ABSOLUTELY NOT. like i literally just moved so no. unfortunately (i hate to be this person) i do believe a beloved family member (4h balder conjunct pluto and square moon) will be passing this year. even more unfortunate - i do not think it will be an easy death with bellerophon present because he was thrown from pegasus... and not to be super disgusting, but i do believe i will inherit something expensive and very material given the earthy grand trine formed by pluto, venus, and uranus. that being said i feel like i might neglect my mental health because pluto squares my moon - i might stopping going to therapy (currently i see a therapist regarding my childhood ptsd). i might regress into people pleasing behaviors because it is all that i will be able to control if someone in my family passes... which is not the healthiest for me.
5H IN AQUARIUS AT 17° (contains: pisces saturn, amor (1221) rx, and karma (3811))
prediction: this seems like a good mix for me achieving something big with writing/blogging. especially because saturn is the traditional ruler of aquarius and capricorn (which is home - the work i do from home, a side hustle). my outlook for romance is not too good with amor in retrograde in this house nor with freedom loving aquarius ruling this house. not to mention i feel like the world will be showing me something that will cause me to have a grudge against love (saturn) and karma will be dished out. this could also be a sign that my childhood trauma could be triggered again with saturn in the 5h too (great).
6H IN PISCES AT 17° (contains: pisces neptune rx, AND aries heracles (5143) rx and salacia (120347) rx)
prediction: i appreciate the that neptune is retrograde in this pisces house... last thing i wanted was for my health, routine, or hygiene to be confusing/frustrating, avoided, or to constantly be behind / running late / neglected. so this is fine by me. i might be obsessive with scheduling, health, and hygiene because jupiter (this house's other ruler) is in the 8h. it seems like the job hunt is at a standstill with heracles in retrograde - instead, i might get one great option that i take and stick to with given salacia in retrograde.
7H IN ARIES AT 12° (contains: aries nn, chiron rx, part of fortune, pandora (55) rx, and signe (459) rx AND taurus moon and vertex)
prediction: it's a toss up as to what all this could mean. i could find myself in a very emotionally charged connection (this is the eclipse moon after all) - with chiron rx it could be the healing of past wounds. the combination of vertex, part of fortune, and north node dictates that any relationship/partnership i find myself in could be extremely significant. with pandora here i feel like it might be unexpected where this relationship will come from. WITH SIGNE HERE i feel like some people may look down on who i this person is...
8H IN TAURUS AT 9° (contains: taurus jupiter rx and uranus rx)
prediction: oof not my 8h ruler in the 12h - what's that screaming i hear lol? maybe i will be afraid of change - i mean that because of the 12h venus and jupiter retrograde... the combination doesn't really express embracing change and the unknown, you know? the uranus retrograde makes me think i will be moving away from shared finances and working on managing my own money. i definitely believe it is for the best that i keep my opportunities to myself... i don't get the sense people will be supportive of my wins - i more so sense the envy of others from this house. i don't think i will be shocked by my successes, but i feel like others will not see it coming...
9H IN GEMINI AT 10° (contains: gemini midas (1981) AND cancer arachne (407) and odysseus (1143))
prediction: mmmm the contemplation to go back to school is real this coming year. it's weird because it might not be for my MFA? like the 9h midas sextile chiron is giving paralegal? nursing? idk but it's not feeling literary oriented... especially with cancer arachne present, i feel like that is nursing/medical-esque... alternatively, midas can be extreme change then add in odysseus, the traveler - i could be going on a trip that changes my life entirely.
10H IN CANCER AT 14° (contains: cancer ajax (1404), hannibal (2152), and loke (4862) AND leo agamemnon (911) and arthur (2597))
prediction: it's a REAL toss up how this house will manifest. i feel like sometimes people will love me and find my presence comforting and other times they will hate me and be annoyed by me. this is thanks to the moon ruler in the 7h... and ajax (who squares my chiron)... and agamemnon (who squares my moon)... i say ajax because i think of my 3h this year - i am falling on my own sword in that regard for sure because not everyone will like what i have to say especially when it is likely to be true (3h sag is starting to remind me of a verbal burn). while people are likely to look up to me (10h arthur AND hannibal) or be forced to - because of my status, they are likely to despise me for what i say/said (7h moon AND mercury and jupiter (3h ruler) square arthur). meanwhile, it might not even be me who is the problem i just look like the bad guy for making it more apparent like loki (10h loke).
11H IN LEO AT 17° (contains: leo charybdis (388), helena (101), and hestia (46) AND virgo beowulf (38086), juno (3), lacrimosa (208), and silentium (2710))
prediction: i feel like my popularity is going to be a thing / where i am on the social status food chain (high up). but i don't believe i can trust anyone this year... i feel like i am likely to reach big social media milestones with beowulf in this house (and this house being in leo at 17°) - social media might even take over my life a little bit (11h charybis). i do feel like friendships will be very love hate with juno and hestia here - i am likely to be a moderator of sorts but with helena here i feel like someone is going to accuse me of being disloyal because of how i am likely to moderate without bias. i might find myself truly alone again this year because of it (11h lacrimosa and silentium).
12H IN VIRGO AT 17° (contains: virgo venus)
prediction: greatttt i thought we were passed this but i guess not.... looks like i still need to work on my self esteem... intuitively, i don't sense social media is going to be kind to me, and i really hope that doesn't mean here. like i am okay if it is instagram (that app is dying anyway) but like here and tiktok are my favorite apps to be in. when bullying is involved though and it is consistent, there is a limitation to that favoritism in which it becomes apprehension to stay for something like a social media in comparison to showing up for myself. there could also be delusions in romance with this set up - i could experience over thinking in a romantic connections with that 12h virgo venus too. karmic relationships are highly probable with this placement too. OR it could be an ex becoming an enemy too (unknown enemies my a$$)...

any similar fics to jormungandr by honeyskeleton? specifically the banter/ darkness of it thanks in advance!
Here are some that are potentially similar in banter, perhaps in darkness as well - Mod Haus
The girl with everything, and the boy from nothing by bunnystealsyourcarrots

A Tomione Medieval Au where a lord from nothing and nowhere surrounds the castle of a princess with the intent to take everything from her brick by bloody brick.

Sure enough, not five seconds later, the door cracked open, and a tall boy with green lining on his robes strode into the Hospital Wing. Hermione absent-mindedly noticed his attractive face, but she was more focussed on his uniform. Lord, that looks stuffy, was her first thought. At least he knows how to tie a proper Windsor knot, was her second. Hermione wakes up in 1943 alone, annoyed, and uninformed. And why the hell was life so determined to pit her against Tom bloody Riddle, anyway? "Hermione.” That low, effortless bass thrums in her ear. Coaxing. Sweet as novocaine. “I wanted to explain.” Her glossy lips peel into a sneer. “Fuck off.” A high-school stalker AU set in the 2000s: heavy on possessive!Tom, dark romance
Strange Attractors by Orange et Blue Morality
M | WIP | 598k
Unspeakable Granger wakes up with missing memories in Hogwarts...in 1942. Hermione might not remember much, but she knew that even post-Voldemort, there were many wannabe dark lords she and her friends had to fight against. The world wasn't automatically sunshine and roses just because they've defeated Voldemort. Also, go back? What go back? If she doesn't even know how she got here with all the wounds she had, then there's really no guarantee that a safe way to jump forward exists! Yet the possibilities that are open to her... if she could change the wizarding world half a century earlier, maybe they'd be more prepared against dark lords in the future. Perhaps a better world for the friends she'd left. With this in mind, Hermione Curie (Granger) sets out to use her field healer and master arithmancer abilities to the fullest (if she had to invent a couple of things earlier than they actually happened in her old future, so be it). Not to mention that in her very-biased-opinion, the wizarding world needs to be dragged out of its old prejudices, kicking and screaming if necessary. But who is that particular prefect? Her mind itches at seeing him…

One of the notes on the sea serpent post had this to say and I think it’s a very good point!
I’d say it’s all in how you frame it. It’s the age-old question. Like, what is a dragon? Is it “any large mythical reptile”? Or is it “a mythical serpent from European folklore that originated in the Greek drakōn, itself almost certainly an exaggerated description of a python or other large snake”? The first description could include the Chinese long, the North American horned serpent, the South American boiúna, the Australian rainbow serpent… the second, meanwhile, is a lot more restrictive.
So, in this case, what is “the sea serpent”? If the description is “a serpent that lives in the sea”, then yes, Leviathan could indeed be one of the older versions.
However!
The legend of Leviathan is that of the chaos battle, the defeat of an older water or water-adjacent deity to create order out of chaos. This is derived from the likes of Lotan and Tiamat, and there’s a clear degradation of the concept, from chthonic deities gradually being demoted to dragons/serpents of chaos and eventually great beasts that inhabit our world. It’s complicated. Leviathan also sometimes has multiple heads, something which I don’t associate with sea serpents. Tangential but worth mentioning.
Serpents that live in the sea have existed for a long time. Laocoon and his sons were killed by them. Aelian mentions them. Jormungandr is a big serpent that lives in the sea.
But it was the Scandinavian sea serpent that created the modern conception of the sea serpent as a serpent that lives in the sea which exists, and can be seen. It precipitated the whole sea serpent craze. Sober eyewitnesses reported sea serpents from all over the world.
Tumblr media
Also it is literally called “sea serpent”. Not Jormundandr or Leviathan or Tiamat or whathaveyou, but “sea serpent”, not a proper name but the name of an animal. The great Scandinavian sea serpent is, indeed, referred to as such (sjøorm).
It was Olaus Magnus’ account that created a mythic landscape in which just about every unfamiliar thing in the sea became a sea serpent, from decomposed whales to long strands of kelp
Tumblr media
to large sea life towing marine debris
Tumblr media
to skim feeding sei whales
Tumblr media
to whale penises
Tumblr media
to stranded oarfishes
Tumblr media
to whales tangled in debris (or maybe just another whale penis)
So yes, Leviathan (and Jormungandr) precede the sea serpent, and could be considered the origins of the myth, I agree! But for a more restrictive definition, I would say the sea serpent as we know it was born with Olaus Magnus’ account.

~Princess Of England~
Tumblr media
Masterlist
A/N: This was requested by an anon on tumblr. Don't be too tough on me since I'm still experimenting with writing for Harald and I hope you loved it! ♥️
Summary: Harald meets the hidden princess of England as he visits Wessex, the woman clearly exceeding his expectations in more ways than one~
Timeline: Unimportant.
Pairing: Harald Sigurdsson x Princess!Reader Warning: Mentions of smut, none detailed smut.
For days Harald did not rest, nor did he take even a small break from rowing at sea with his men.
The waves were as big and dangerous as Jormungandr sharp teeth, the sky was as black as the dark and gloomy Helheim, but thankfully Thor's lighting crashed into the deep waters right in time to fight of Jormungandr and to make sure the Vikings could safely seek their way to England.
Not that any of it would matter to Harald, none of it could ever bring the man to a halt. The viking was far too enthusiastic to finally continue his search for a beautiful wife who he could have a son with to even think about stopping his journey.
Harald could still remember the sudden heartwarming feeling he felt in his heart when he arrived in Northern England after just 10 rough days at sea.
The feeling of hope.
Hope he could find himself another wife who he could share a son with.
It was always his dream to find a woman who was sweet, caring, but also bad ass, not to be messed with. Though it became harder and harder to do so. Most of the women in Norway who Harald had grown a liking towards had already been taken or preferred to be by themselves and so Harald's search continued. He wasn't a man to ever force a woman into marriage without her consent and so he decided to look further in other places such as England.
He and his men traveled around England and its beautiful kingdoms for two weeks in a row before finally coming to a stop in Winchester where Harald was offered a place to stay by a nobleman and his only daughter.
He had accepted it not knowing about the woman yet until he saw her come home that one night....
She was wearing a beautiful white gown that hugged her curves beautifully, her long glowing hair was pulled up into a braided bun with a few wavy strings framing her friendly face and her neck was wearing a necklace made out of pearls and silver.
She looked like royalty for sure.
"What is your name, Ketta?" [Female cat, kitten.] He had asked with a pretty thick accent, his body automatically standing up to approach and greet the gorgeous woman.
"Y/N Y/L/N." She looked him up and down for a second and looked at her father with secret admiration. "We're giving shelter to a Viking?"
"A Christian Norseman." He sternly replied to correct her and her lovely gaze returned to Harald who was smiling at her.  He couldn't help it. She looked too cute.
"A Viking." He whispered back as he bowed his head, winking at her secretly so her father wouldn't notice it and it made her respond by giving him the sweetest smile he had ever seen anyone give him.
"What is your name?" She returned the question, but he was already too lost in his wandering thoughts.
Thoughts he would never say out loud.
Thoughts that were too sinful for a Christian to even hear about, but he wished they would come true nonetheless.
~~~
"Harald~." Y/N moaned the man's name softly into his ear, her face nuzzling his neck while riding his cock at the speed she desired.
He could only imagine himself meeting her slow pace with delicious and perfect rolls of his hips deep inside of her. Give her everything she wanted and needed. Her hips already widened and her belly showing a small bump where their son was growing in, caressing it as they made love.
It would be a sight he so badly wished to see.
~~~
"Sir?" She tried to get his attention.
"Harald Sigurdsson~." He answered as he tried to push the thoughts aside not to let it affect him too much and get him hard in front of her. He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and scare her away. "King Harald Sigurdsson." He corrected himself. "But keep that a secret for me, yes?"
"It's a pretty name, am I allowed to call you just Harald?" She played along, acting like she hadn't heard anything about the king part.
"Of course, Ketta." He smirked a bit, his mind thinking back to what his name would sound like if she moaned it to him.
"Let me show you around Winchester before dinner, Harald." She offered and held out her hand, feeling a warm comforting feeling in her body as he took and caressed it.
It was as if she already knew him and it made her feel safe.
"King Harald, are you still listening?" She pulled him out of his thoughts from the past few weeks as she gently tugged at his shirt.
"I am, Sæta." [Sweetie, cutie] Harald gave her a friendly bow, still holding onto her hand even after hours of the woman leading him around the quiet and pretty parts of Winchester.
"It gives me a warm feeling when you call me that." She blushed a little and watched her feet as they walked.
"You understand what I'm saying to you?" He gave her hand a soft squeeze and she looked up at him, nodding while staring into those handsome eyes. "How?"
"I'm not fully English." She explained, bringing the viking back to her home so they could sit in the fantasy-like garden her father owned and have some alone time together. The garden was a private place where no one was allowed to come but the owners so she felt like it was a perfect place to continue their conversation.
"You're a Viking?" He watched her closely and it suddenly clicked in his mind.
Her interest in him and his people.... her rare beauty.... the way she spoke and even understood certain Norse words....
She clearly wasn't a Christian free willingly.
"Partly, yes." She smiled proudly before it changed into a sad glare, staring into the horizon that was turning darker as the time passed. "But I was raised here because my mother, the queen, didn't allow me to go home with my father."
"You're a princess? Then why are you living with a nobleman in Wessex?"
"She was ashamed she was with child by an affair with a Viking at the time, so she hid me away and gave me to one of her personal guards to raise. Together he and I moved to Wessex to start a new life away from the throne."
"I'm sorry, princess." He rubbed the palm of her hand with his thumb, sighing.
He really felt strong feelings for her already, and he'd love to show her his life someday, but it was truly all up to her.
"It's okay, it's not as bad as it sounds. My 'father' doesn't forbid me from learning your language or about your gods, he prefers me to stay quiet about it however.... so no one suspects anything and will take me away from treason."
"You'd like to come with me back to Norway?" He closed the distance between them and stroked a piece of her hair out of her face, deciding to go for it and show her how he felt before it was too late.
"You.... You would take me with you?" She blushed and leaned into him, her arms wrapping around his neck slowly.
"If that's what you wish for, Ketta~." He licked his lips and she stared at him with sudden lust until she suddenly heard children laughing and running through the garden which made her back off.
"Children, what did I say about running through the garden like this?" She chuckled as they ran up to her with huge smiles and pouts.
"No running or we'll accidentally hurt ourselves." They replied in unison and she smiled, getting on her knees to be at their height.
"Good, so don't do it again, okay?" She ruffled a young boy's hair and handed them all an apple one by one. She knew it wasn't 'allowed' to take care of the orphans of the city when you had a high title, but she couldn't care less. They were children. They were hungry and they needed help. If she had her own home she would've probably taken them all in, but she sadly couldn't so this was the least thing she could do for them. Besides, there were enough apples growing on their trees anyway. A few missing wouldn't hurt. "Now go before the city guards see you children here. I don't want them hurting you."
"Yes, Y/N. Thank you!" The oldest girl hugged Y/N and brought the children safely back to the streets.
"You'd prefer to come with me as queen of Norway instead~?" He smiled, trying to keep his needs from taking over as he held her body close to his.

if you have the time i was just wondering if you had any thoughts/headcanons about sigyn? personally my main one is that she was the one who cut the wire on loki’s mouth after the dwarves sewed it shut
usually it takes me like a month or two to get to hc asks, but this ask is phrased so sweetly and also i adore your hc so i am responding ASAP!!!
in terms of personality, i hc Sigyn to be very meek and humble. i think she is everything Loki is not, and this is fully intentional!!!
i hc that Loki and Sigyn's marriage is arranged by Odin as a way of trying to bring Loki back in line.. to tone him down.
we all know that Odin and Loki considered each other brothers,, but most other gods in Asgard don't share Odin's love for Loki. of these gods, i feel Frigg, Freyja, Tyr, and Heimdallr to be amongst Loki's least fans but these four are also very close Odin and their opinions hold a lot of sway with him.
after all of Loki's antics, i think Odin begins to feel pressure from most of his court stressing that Loki is becoming more trouble than he's worth... of course, Odin does care for Loki and recognises his value, and so, he isn't quite ready to just ditch Loki (it'll take his son dying to make Odin realise just how troublesome Loki can be :// ) and so he comes up with a plan-- if Odin can marry Loki off, maybe, just maybe, he'll become a little more sensible. he'll have someone to hold him accountable, to keep track of him.
that someone? Sigyn.
Sigyn, as i mentioned before, is very modest and sensible. she's enormously kind and endlessly patient. i think she'd have a very friendly, sweet face, always smiling.
i'm not sure where Sigyn comes from-- i definitely do not think she is Odin's daughter or has any blood relation to him,, i think she must've just been one of the ladies of the court. perhaps she was part of Frigg's entourage..
in any case, Sigyn is chosen because she's the exact opposite of Loki and Odin hopes she'll rub off on him.
Sigyn doesn't really want to marry Loki-- i mean, it's not as though she's seen him at court and admires him from a distance. she knows who he is and the kind of trouble he sometimes gets into,, but she doesn't fully comprehend how much of a trickster Loki is.
she thinks, "hmm maybe everyone's being a bit harsh on him."
Sigyn is extremely loyal. first, she is loyal to Odin. that's why she agrees to his plan to marry Loki. but as her marriage progresses, she becomes loyal to Loki because he is her husband and she is a dutiful wife.
i don't believe that Sigyn ever "falls in love" with Loki. she just tolerates him. she finds him a little amusing. she likes the way he's so confident in himself and the way he breaks the mould. even though she wouldn't do it herself. all in all. i don't think she's ashamed to be his wife. and he's not ashamed to be her husband.
i don't think their marriage is unpleasant. Loki is quite amiable towards Sigyn. at the beginning, it's mostly to keep up appearances, but as time goes, it becomes genuine.
i think Loki thinks her to be naive, but there's a purity in her innocence that he knows he doesn't have himself,, so it's like,, pleasing to see in her... if that makes sense?
anyways. Sigyn is not Loki's confidant. i think he's very careful not to detail everything about his exploits or tricks. he keeps her blind and in this way, she's never really at fault for his actions because she doesn't know. in a weird, Loki-sort-of way, it's a kindness to her.
after Sigyn has her boys,, they become her entire world. nothing brings her more joy. i think they are very important to Loki too,, maybe partially because he sees how much joy they bring Sigyn.
as for Sigyn's step-children. i don't think they have much of a relationship; Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Hel are not children in the traditional sense. nevertheless, Sigyn is never jealous of them. she'd speak kindly about them if they ever came up in conversation; that's just who she is.
when everything goes to shit, and Loki gets imprisoned,, Sigyn's children pay the price. brutally. and i think it shatters Sigyn.
it's not like she becomes mean, or cruel. she just becomes.. ghostly. she doesn't talk, or smile. she's mostly mute. she stares off into the distance. sometimes she thinks she hears her boys calling to her.
oddly enough, at Sigyn's lowest point is the time that i think Loki finds the most respect and genuine admiration for her. pride to call her his wife. because even in all of her pain,,, she remains true to her character. she doesn't seek revenge. she knows it's partially Loki's doing that her children are dead, but she still stays with him to protect him. to collect the poison from the snake.
i don't fancy Sigyn to be vengeful. she's gentle, always. it's a strength.
not to talk about my Ragnarok AU again but when Loki gets free finally, i love the idea of him being extremely protective of Sigyn. he makes sure she's safe, not just from his enemies, but from other gods on his own side who might perceive her to be "deadweight". he doesn't abandon her when she becomes frail and incomprehensive. he makes sure that she won't suffer on his account anymore.
i can't comment on how Sigyn feels about this because i think she's so broken she doesn't know how to comprehend the world anymore. she's just a shell.

Sometimes I feel the kwamis lore is extremely wasted
For example we know miraculous have been part of history and religion. But this brings the question: what kinds of miraculous influenced what?
There’s multiple myth of persons turning into monsters so has nooroo been miss-used for thousands of years?
what kind of miraculous created Christianity? What kind of miraculous caused all mythology’s to involve snakes to some point (hydras, Chinese dragons, leviathan, jormungandr, etc) what kind of miraculous created the idea of demons and hell?
Then there’s the possibilities of them being concepts and how inconsistent it can be at times.
Like what’s the difference of genesis and Creation? The tiger miraculous power (which I can’t rembeber) and destruction? They are all very similar. So why can’t we just say “screw it” and we get creative with the miraculous
What about Modification? Demolition? Consequences? Translation? Manipulation? Regeneration? Infection? Fortification?
Why kwamis want to help mortals? Why all kwamis accepted being in a miraculous if things like Gabriel could happen? Why isn’t there a evil kwami? (If Plagg extinguish the dinosaurs then I see any other kwami doing despicable things like causing tyrannies, destroying country’s, murder or other evil things but everyone seems totally innocent but plagg)
If there’s a miraculous of illusion then where is the miraculous of reality? Whats the relation of the prodigious with the kwamis? if the kwamis are living concepts then what could their distant cousins be?
How can someone break a miraculous? How can someone absorb that power and put it in a piece of jewelry?
Imagine if Gabriel experimented with the miraculous to make permanent Akumas, imagine if someone used the miraculous to make weapons? We know the power of the miraculous can be transported through technology so why isn’t there Cataclysm/tiger miraculous powered canons yet?
The possibility’s are there but is a lot of wasted potential
My biggest letdown was knowing a single sentimonster destroyed the order of the guardians of the miraculous when their job is to defeat the miraculous yet a simple sentimonster they themselves have written in the book killed them all
Imagine if a rouge kwami escaped because of feast and then destroyed the guardians. We could have a potential antagonist which we know is dangerous since it killed all the guardians and we know how powerful kwamis are
Seriously a kwami has a villain is a 100% times more threatening and interesting has a final threat than Lila or Gabriel. It also makes sense to have has a final Thanos like threat to defeat if they want to make Gabriel relatable. Also lila is a kid so making her the unredeemable monster and not Gabriel would be like fuel for Chloe stans to point out the classic “adult? Redeemable. Teenager? EVIL” everyone is angry for since season 3 ended
With the concept of the Miraculous being used through history, you can do one of two things:
Use it to flesh out the mythology of the world and explain how the Miraculous affected history while furthering the story.
Just cut loose and connect Miraculous to all kinds of historical events, making it clear it was done to just have fun with the concept.
Instead, all the show does is occasionally mention that the Miraculous have been used throughout history while focusing on the modern conflict. I get why that's more important, but if you're going to introduce something like the idea of Joan of Arc using a Miraculous, do more to explain how history changed as a result.
The idea of a rogue Kwami could also be interesting, as most of the Kwamis are one-dimensional characters who do nothing but spout random advice and screw around when they're not being used. Too bad we needed to give Gabriel three different villain identities instead.

I just realized: Faye might’ve time traveled like Kratos since Thor has weird time travel powers as Faye sang Carole King’s You’ve Got A Friend as mentioned by Atreus which is a modern day song so maybe instead of sending her to the past like Jormungandr-she ended up in possibly the far future and made her way back to her timeline.

hiii!! 3 things..
1) for your mask expression art where goro's mask is confused, you said you took inspiration from atsv? what is that, if i can ask?
2) in persona 4 arena , theres a shadow suppression unit named labrys and she essentially only wears yasogami's highschool uniform so if you look at labrys and aigis, the idea of shadow suppression unit goro works very well because his school uniform is nice enough that he can hide his princely (& maybe later darker?) outfit and appear more human when theyre in public (excluding ears of course.. those can be passed off as headphones however).. i just thought thatd be something you would find interesting
3) in norse mythology there's the myth of loki killing baldr, so skadi traps him below the earth with chains made of what's holding his 1st child fenrir down as well, and poison from a creature (i cant remember the exact creature unfortunately) but he stays there until the ragnarok (the end of the world) and his wife, sigyn, who puts up with all his mischief and the fact that 4/6 (or 4/5, depending on what iteration you look at) of loki's kids are not sigyn's at all (hel, the horse he gave birth to, fenrir, and jormungandr are the ones not sigyn's.. nardi and vali slash just nardi is sigyn's) . but anyway sigyn holds a bowl and catches the poison so loki doesnt suffer, and every once in awhile the bowl fills with poison so she has to go outside to dump it out, and loki withers in pain because while she is gone the poison drips down his head and it causes earthquakes.. but anyway. this all reminds me of engine room (being trapped & in pain, etc) and its also.. loki. so sigyn as akira and loki as akechi art would be super duper cool.. i encourage you to look into both loki and robinhood's myths because robinhood era-myths also include the mention of mordred, the incestous son of king arthur who kills his way to the top yet his revenge fails (reason unspecified, it can be assumed he was killed himself or robinhood took his revenge for him) and his outfit is suspiciously similar to that of the black mask's, from the horns to the black getup.. mordred is akechi, akira is robinhood, and robinhood's merry band of thieves are the PTs.
ty for listening to my rambling :D no one really mentions mordred and i think him and akechi's symbolism is so important.. also! What You've Already Buried by malevolentmango on ao3 touches on a lot of loki's myths and such if youd like to learn about it that way :D
sorry the face i made seeing how long this ask is AHSJGF took me a min to answer
1)ATSV is Across the the spiderverse ! that movie inspired quite a few things about my art style, that also just happen to work really well with p5s visual motifs since the comic book inspiration and heavy use of colour blocks and halftones, as well as they make the spiderman masks eyes emote, since they have them on for a big portion of the film, and its the cutest thing ever
Tumblr media
2) Ive seen Labrys' design! she always reminds me of miku if im completely honest BWAHA but yesss he could possibly hide it very well, also the fact that he always wears gloves could hide his fingers too :D
3) havent touched too much into norse myth besides the surface level knowledge of it that i obtained thru osmosis, mostly from friends who were into it. also i loveeeee binge reading wikis and link hopping (did it with gnosticism -> ended up inspired and made the ophiomorphos piece hehe) but its such a spontanious thing for me, i shall keep it in mind tho :D i did wanna at some point read up on hereward more specifically, since out of his 3 personas him is the one i have not a single clue about but i....forgot...i really dont give a lot of love to hereward sobs

You said you didn't mind questions so a floodgate has opened:
1. how do Fenrir and Jormungandr EAT? Fenrir has a huge-ass sword driven through his snout and if Jurmungandr ate the regular way then earth's ecosystem would have uhhh.. a bit of a Problem. At first I thought Fenrir was in some kind of stasis, but since Jormungandr can already harness earth's magnetic field or something(I don't have the exact quote at hand) now I'm more convinced that they have a way of converting Seidr into energy, like how fairies can feed off of chaos magic.
2. Would I be correct to assume that the reason Loki didn't free his kids the second he got the reality stone back is because it wouldn't have been naratively satisfying and therefore the Norns wouldn't have allowed it?
3. Loki mentions that they and Fenrir can shapeshift, while Hela can't, but they say nothing about Sleipnir and Jormun. Are those two shapeshifters as well?
4. Why didn't Loki go to Hatchet for help when he was pregnant with the triplets? Was Hatchet somehow off-limits, was Loki too afraid and paranoid to trust even him, or was it internalized transphobia/misogyny(thanks a lot Odin), and Loki thought Hatchet would be ashamed of them?
5. How old is Hatchet? His and Loki's relationship is hard to define, but Tony refers to Loki as Hatchet's godchild during the Alice in the Wonderland arc and somewhere earlier Loki says something along the lines of Hatchet already knowing he would outlive them(Loki).
(Though I know writing fanfiction is your hobby and that one can't explain every little thing in a fantasy world and maybe some of the answers are spoilers so no obligation to answer ig🤷‍♀️)
Oh, wow, so many questions 😆❤️💞. I'll try to answer them as best as I can ❤️❤️💕
1. Yes, Jormungandr is sustained by the magic he harvests from the motion. Fenrir is sustained similarly, partly also by the magic that imprisons him (Odin had to make sure he survives after all) and by the magic of Sutur, and yes, the stasis does help. That said, Fenrir in contrast to Jormungandr is definitely hungry. He's the sibling whose conditions are by far the worst.
Generally, the triplets, including Hela, are a bit of a special case because they are born of the mingling of excess magic - they are literally magic made flesh. So their bodies work differently than those of Sleipnir and Loki, including food consumption.
2. Yes. Far too easy - Loki is not that stupid. And all the infinity stones obey narration first and their wielder only second. This is also why the time stone is especially fickle and almost no one can really use it for much. The power stone, since it's mostly good for destruction and thus not a narratively potent gem, is much less picky.
It takes a very special mindset to wield reality in a way that won't backfire spectacularly - a mindset that Loki luckily has. Always going for the straightforward solution is not part of that mindset however.
3. Good question. I think I haven't specified that yet. But even if they could shapeshift, I think they would be inclined to remain in their current form, while Fenrir would like shifting almost as much as Loki. The sword also serves to imprison him in his current body.
4. Also a very good question - I think that everything that happened after Loki eating Angrboda's heart must be seen in the light of extreme magical, emotional and mental instability. Just like Loki didn't even consider abortion as an option. They just were really not in a good place, full of grief and rage and guilt (they had only just killed their lover and integrated their lover's frigging core), and full of Angrboda's emotions too (who had not been in a "good place" either). Definitely suicidal and not able to think straight. And asking for help is not Loki's biggest strength at the best of times, to put it mildly, which they have demonstrated several times already in the series 😬. This Loki is definitely their own worst enemy.
5. I think that Scyllala has specified Hatchet's age in "Bend around the wind" at some point, and I would stick with that. He should be at least two millennia older than Loki, I think, and as a faeling, he can live virtually forever.

Ragnarok is extremely good at referring back to norse mythos and translating specific things less known in said mythos to the screen but here are a few things I would have LOVED for them to touch on or refer to;
- Loki and Thor both being redheads in the original norse texts
I just feel like it was a bit of a missed opportunity to do what a lot of modern interpretations of Thor and Loki have done, in letting the fact that the two both have red hair fall to the wayside. (Quick little shout out to God of War for being one of the first instances where I've seen that particular trait kept within their character designs-)
The feature itself was often heavily noted upon anywhere Thor and Loki were concerned. So much so that I'm fairly certain it was one of the reasons why their initial relationship, that of an uncle (Loki) and a nephew (Thor), eventually evolved culturally into that of surrogate siblings.
It also served to highlight just how similar the two actually were. Most notably in how tempestuous both their tempers could be and how prideful they both are as well. Not to mention it would serve as a highlight of the disparity between Thor's less than stellar actions being glorified while Loki's are denounced as tricks and leave him villified.
Not to mention from a story telling standpoint, it would have made the reveal that Laurits is actually Vidar's son and not Asbjørn's a bit less easy to clock but I digress.
- An acknowledgment of a majority of the more notable Aesir having Jotunn ancestry
In terms of the way the show was written, it is understandable that this particular tidbit of info wasn't exactly included.
But it really would have added an interesting take to how Laurits interacted with the other gods, particularly where his more direct connection to the Jotunn in this life was concerned. Because some of the most famous of the Aesir either had direct genealogical or inherited links to the Jotnar in the original myths. Thor, Tyr, Heimdall and even Odin himself to name a few.
So the hypocritical stance the gods (Wotan in particular-) took against Laurits in initially shunning him away for being both Loki in his past life and having direct Jotunn ancestry in this life really would have just nailed home how fickle the other gods truly are. A fact that would have made their eventual turn against Magne for losing his abilities, when he was the one to start the fight against the Jutuls, feel even more like a stab in the back.
- More references to Angrboða and the other children she had with Loki
This is mainly just a little gripe I'd had with the show, in the fact that they all but ignored just how significant Angrboða's union with Loki truly was and what their children endured at the hands of the Aesir simply for being born, especially Fenrir.
I do understand it was due to Laurits being gay in the show (as well as a teenager) but I honestly can't help but feel that they made him so as a way to not have to stress too much about tackling the modern creation stories of Fenrir and Hel. Which sucks because the way they brought Jormungandr to life was genuinely a really interesting take on things.
This is all just my opinion though, if you have differing ones that's more than fine!

Fresh out of Loki S2 thoughts:
I just finished Loki S2 and now I am gonna dive in a rabbit hole.
I just want to say, I am no expert but did loki basically make Yggdrasil? Cause it's a tree. Hahahaha My only reference btw is God of War Ragnarok but I also have a shallow grasp of that lore (I'm gonna start reading my norse mythology by neil gaiman from now on) but anyway, I had this leonardo dicaprio pointing meme moment when Don mentioned a puppy then Don's son also wants a snake and I thought that was a reference to Fenrir and Jormungandr which is no big deal at all, it was just a fun thing to think about, I love them in the game. That's all! Love love love the series

Cold winter: Thor
THOR
Category: Norse mythology
When talking about Norse mythology, Thor is the one god one can’t miss. He was one of the biggest characters of Norse religion (and of Germanic mythology too, where he was known as Donar).
Thor is the son of Odin, king of the gods, and of Jörd, a goddess embodying the earth. He has a wife named Sif, a goddess renowned for her beautiful golden hair, but also a lover, Jarnsaxa, a jötunn who name seems to mean “iron dagger”! Thor also has three children: Thrudr (Strength), the daughter of Thor and Sif ; Magni (Mighty), son of Thor and Jarnsaxa, and Modi (Wrath). Now, the thing is that Modi and Magni are talked about together, without their mother mentioned, in the “Poetic Edda”, hinting at them possibly being twins born of the same mother – while in the Prose Edda, Modi is completely missing and there is only talk of Magni, whose mother is identified as Jarnsaxa. And if this was easy… there’s also the matter of Jarnsaxa. She is identified as a jötunn and the mother of Magni in the Prose Edda – but in the same Prose Edda, Sif, Thor’s legal divine wife, calls herself by two names… one is “rival of Jarnsaxa”, implying that the giantess is indeed a lover of her husband… and the other is actually “Jarnsaxa”. She calls herself Jarnsaxa, implying… that maybe the jötunn mother is just another identity or another personality of Sif herself. It is all a confusing and complicated matter. Note that all of three of Thor’s children are manifestations of traits of Thor himself: he was said to be the strongest of all the gods (Strength, Mighty), but also renowned as a deity prone to anger (Wrath).
Thor is said to live with Sif and his children in a hall called Bilskirnir (Lightning-crack), located in an area called Thrudheim (the realm of strength) or Thrudvangr (the power field), which is Thor’s domain in Asgard, the world of the gods. Bilskirnir is said to be one of the biggest buildings of Asgard, with 540 rooms. Thor also owns three specific items. The most well-known is his hammer, Mjölnir, his main weapons in his various battles, renowned for being the “crusher of giant skulls” thanks to how Thor kept using it to kill jötnar. With one good hit of his hammer, Thor can break an entire mountain in two ; but it can also be a tool of divine blessing as Thor demonstrates in some stories. It never misses its target, can never be lost by Thor no matter how he throws it (the hammer always “returns” to Thor’s hand, figuratively or not depending on how you interpret it), can hit as heavy as Thor desires it to be – and it even can shrink in size until becoming small enough to fit into a pocket! Crafted by dwarf masters after Loki cut Sif’s golden hair (a long story), it only has one default: its handle is too short. His second item is “Jarngreipr” (iron grippers) or Jarnglofer (iron gauntlets), a pair of iron gloves Thor needs to wield his hammer (for unknown reasons). Last but not least is Megingjörd, the “power-belt”, a belt that, when worn by Thor, doubles his already prodigious strength.
Thor’s numerous and many adventures throughout Norse mythology are mostly him wandering about, hunting/fighting/killing various monsters, ranging from hostile jötnar to Jormungandr the “world-serpent”. Always excessive and terrifying in everything he does (thanks to his prodigious strength and wild nature), he is renowned as both a prodigious eater of great appetite and the best drinker of all of the gods, able to gulp down a LOT of liquid, be it ale or sea-water. Physically he is usually recognized by three facts: one, his red hair and beard, two, his largeness, three, his eyes that are burning, fiery, fierce, fearsome – in one word, terrifying. His chariot is drawn not by horses, but by two goats: Tanngrisnir (“one that has gaps between the teeth”) and Tanngnjost (“one that grinds teeth”). Whenever Thor travels around the world, and when he needs to eat, he simply camps somewhere and kills his goats, cooking and eating their meat. He keeps however their bones preciously, because in the following morning he just has to use his magical hammer to bring them back to life in full health and shape. It is due to this unique ownership that Thor is called the “lord of goats”. Oh yes and if a chariot pulled by goats doesn’t seem impressive… one should add that when the goats starts to swiftly run, mountains burst and earth is covered in fire where the chariot passes. These goats are also the reason for the presence of two children alongside Thor: Thjalfi and Röskva, a boy and a girl, children of a peasant in whose house Thor was hosted for one night. As the poor family didn’t have enough to feed Thor, the god simply killed his goats to make a supper for everybody – but Loki, who was alongside Thor in the house, tempted Thjalfi into breaking one of the goat’s bones to suck its marrow. As a result, in the following morning, when Thor resurrected his goats, he noticed one of them was now lame due to the broken bone – and he entered a wild and furious rage. But upon seeing how terrified the humans were, he calmed down, and explaining the situation, he reclaimed as a compensation the two human children, that became his servants and companions for his future adventures.
Apparently, according to Odin, every day Thor wades through two rivers (Körmt and Örmt), and then through two more (the Kerlaugar, or Kerlaugs twain) to go to some sort of council or court held at Yggdrasil, the World-Tree, and there he sits as “judge”. There is also another fascinating myth showing Thor acting as a father: apparently during one of his travels he met a dwarf called Alviss, who is about to get married, and as they chat Thor realizes the dwarf is about to marry… Thor’s very own daughter. And Thor gets pretty angry because apparently this marriage agreement was made between the gods while he was away, and he finds the dwarf really repulsive. So to trick him, Thor reveals his identity as the father of the bride and forces the dwarf suitor to prove himself to him – by revealing all that he knows about all the different worlds he travelled in. So the dwarf, to prove himself worthy, listed at Thor his encyclopedic knowledge of everything and everyone… but as it turns out, it was just a ploy to gain time until dawn – for dwarfs turn to stone is they are touched by sunlight, and Thor kept Alviss busy enough for him not to notice the incoming sunrise. This story is one of several that actually can be used to disprove a common misconception about Thor: Thor is not stupid. Yes he is a mighty brute and a “hit-before-talking” type of guy renowned for crashing everybody’s skulls – but he is never said to be an idiot or slow-minded. In this story and others he can actually become tricky when the situation calls for it, though he is not known by nature as a cunning god ; and he is able to hold an insult-contest with Odin, which requires a lot of knowledge and intelligence (though he ultimately loses because Odin is Odin). In a similar way, yes he is a destructive and terrifying warrior prone to bursts of violence… but he is also a good god who makes his best to not frighten humans too much and usually only kills threats, dangers and evil people.
- - - - -
All of that being said… WHAT is Thor the god of?
Well… of lightning you may answer. This was an aspect of the god that was pushed hard by Marvel, but it is true that Thor is heavily associated with lightning and storms. His hall is literally called “lightning-crack”, while his name and its variants (Thor, Thunor, Thuner, Thunar) gave birth to the modern word “thunder”. It was recorded by medieval chroniclers that Thor was thought to be the god ruling the sky and was explicitly compared with the Roman Jupiter: Thor was said to be the god who ruled over lightning, thunder, winds, storms, and weather in general. Jacob Grimm, in the 19th century, for his reconstruction of Germanic mythology, pointed out all of the (then) modern expressions linking Thor/Donar to thunder: in Norwegian lightning is “Thor’s warmth”, in Swedish thunder is “Thor’s rumble”. Swedish expressions such as “the ride of the god” and “the good old fellow is taking a ride” are used when there is a storm, implying that Thor’s rides through the sky caused thunderstorms ; and the Scandinavian folk belief of trolls and giants being scared of lightning might be a leftover of Thor the jötnar-killer. Finally, in North Frisian a traditional curse is “Let the red-haired thunder see to that!”).
But fascinatingly the Romans did not associated Thor with their own thunder god Jupiter… Donar, the Germanic Thor, was associated with “Jove” (another name of Jupiter) but only by Germans in the post-Roman era and early Middle-Ages, where the sacred oaks of Donar were called “Jove trees” and the name “Thunor” became a synonym of “Jove” in texts. The Romans themselves, when they encountered the Germanic and Nordic people and identified their gods with their own, rather associated Thor with Hercules – because both were crazy-strong monster-killing heroes wielding a form of mace. We also know that Thor was considered by Nordic people and Vikings to be a sort of fertility and health god, as he was given offerings whenever there was the threat of a plague or a famine – though it might have more to be with Thor’s “protective” nature. Indeed, well after the old Norse times, well after the Roman times, all the way to the Vikings and even well into the Christian times of Nordic countries, Thor’s hammer was a very strong folkloric symbol. The stylized hammer, sometimes covered in runes, was worn as an amulet or pendant by people as a way to protect their owner, warding off evil spirits and bad things.
The name of “Thor” stayed also very popular despite the Christianization of Northern Europe, resulting in “Thor” or its variants appearing in various first names, family names and location names across ancient Norse countries. Heck, even one of the days of the English week, “Thursday” is named after Thor, as it is in truth “the day of Thunor”, Thunor being the name of Thor in Old English.

Psychopomp
Summary: Travis has psychopomp powers, Connor likely does too but no one knows other than Travis himself. Travis decides to summon Luke for some reason.
Notes to myself:
[the no good bad evil oneshot about Luke and Travis]
[Travis summons Luke]
[Make sure there has to be a lifeline that keeps Travis alive during the ritual.]
[Have his lifeline accidentally be Katie]
[Have Katie show up near the end]
[He compares the whispering to Katie talking so much, and that causes things to spitball and anchor his life]
["Great, just what I needed—Katie's voice in surround sound," he grumbled, a desperate attempt at humour in the face of the spectral onslaught.]
[Diaktoros- Guide, Messenger]
[Athanatos Diaktoros- Immortal guide]
["What are you doing?" Luke said
Travis rips the blanket off himself and throws it on the ground, suddenly disgusted by its existence.
"Don't throw my blanket".]
[Have Travis have a panic attack when Katie arrives because he's so scared of what she thinks]
[Have Travis refer to him and Katie as a demented demigod Persephone and Hades]
Small extract:
"Hey..."
"Mmm...five more minutes," I mumbled, trying to get at least a few more moments of sleep. The last few nights have been sleepless and filled with tossing and turning, nightmares and a bunch of other stuff I don't wanna talk about; sleep was something I really needed right now.
"Hey, Trav."
I shoved a pillow over my head. "Go away". I don't care if it was Cecil, Chris, or Connor—wow, there are alot of C names in this cabin. What is Hermes' deal with names that start with a C?
"Travis Thomas Stoll. Wake. Up. Now."
That wasn't even close to my middle name. I don't even think I have a middle name. But before I could even point that fact out, a small fist decided to acquaint itself with my stomach.
So it was Connor.
That little shithead.

2. Who is the monster? the children?
Summary: Magnus Chase/Norse myth oneshot of Loki's 'monster' children being brought to Odin. From the third person view of Hel.
Notes to myself:
[F you Odin]
[Think of a nickname for Jormungandr because I ain't calling him by his full name for the entire shot.]
[Forgot Hel was the youngest midway through this, so let's pretend Hel is freakishly (horrible phrasing) strong]
[Technically, a monster isn't a bad thing to be. It just has bad associations]
[Fun fact: Monster derives from the Latin monstrum, itself derived ultimately from the verb moneo—to remind, warn, instruct, or foretell
[höggspjót—chopping spear. It takes its name from Old Norse högg, stroke, blow, slaughter, beheading and spjót, "spear]
[They are so gonna use that on the snake :(]
Small extract:
She assumes they must be young because they are only as big as Fenrir. Not as big as her mom or other Jotun.
Jormungandr hissed in her arms. She was playing with him when the warriors came with their pointy weapons and red faces, so he refused to let go of her. Even when the warriors pointed their höggspjót at him and

3. Wine Child: chapter two draft 4? Fuck what number are we on?
Summary: Percy's pov of the de aged Mr D fanfic. Hebe shows up, dumps 8yr old Dio at camp. Ruins Percy's date. Dives into Dio's demigod trauma.
Notes to myself:
[Work on chapter title]
[Dio has a sword, where does he get the sword? fuck knows. Hebe gave the 8yr old a sword for funsies]
[He's wearing a girls outfit and has wild curly hair]
[make him punch Percy in the balls]—has been changed to Will now.
Small extract:
Did I mention that she's holding a very alive-looking, violently squirming gym bag?
"Well, it's a funny story, really." She said, which meant in god language: It was very much not funny, but you better laugh or I vaporize you.
She twirled the gym bag in her hand as she talked, pulling it up by the straps and tipping it upside down like a very angry yoyo.
Whatever was in the bag really didn't like that, which to be fair, I'd be pretty cranky if some goddess shoved me in a gym bag and then started playing with the bag like a yoyo.
"What I didn't account for was how whiney he was. So then I thought, hmm, where was the best place where he could learn to appreciate youth? Nowhere else but summer camp!"

well vidyadhara are based on long(this one was even mentioned by dan heng) and they’re not hoarders by their nature
even european dragons are not hoarders!! it’s a more later lore of theirs
dragons were created by people all over the globe from the neolithic depictions of serpents and many represented the cycles of life like ouroboros and jormungandr
yeah, i know they’re long’s descendents, but there isn’t really much info on long. in canon, there’s not really many viable ways that they would have any of those instincts beyond maybe them being vestigial structures that don’t even exist in the first place.
but again
fanfiction
canon is a buffet and i brought a portable barbeque lmao

Rpg Anon: Oh fucking Hel (literally). Give a moment to debate this. Ok first of all, if we go with this, we HAVE to make Mukuro's Persona Fenrir, which will also need more research, and we'd HAVE to find Jormungandr (Ryoko or Yasuke or Someone "related" to the sisters). Also, damn I didn't think of that. Hel is literally "half black and half white" so damn. Another also, I really liked our Nyarlathotep idea cuz of Persona and junk so maybe Hel is the initial Persona. Needs debate.
Ok after hours of researching this topic, alongside Lovecraft bullshit, I've come to the decision that Junko should have Hel as her initial Persona but it comes with complications and conditions. Hel is rather seriously indifferent to everything especially death. She is kinda cruel and an asshole but it's hard to say that she's evil. Hard to say Fenrir, Jormungandr, and even Loki are actually "evil" either, but I'll get to that. She's not like Hades who actually is nice to people at times but is still super responsible yet strict. She's kinda responsible and definitely strict but lacks any sympathy or empathy. To put it simply, she's the definition of an indifferent and downcast gloomy death person. I'm gonna just say Junko does have Hel as her initial Persona, but only when she's playing up Monokuma. I find this rather awkward cuz Monokuma literally gets "Thrills, Chills, Kills!" when it comes to death and sadistically executing people. This is literally the opposite of Hel. But, I can't help but adore the half-white half-black aspect of this. Once Junko throws away the Monokuma "mask", she'll just move onto her true Ultimate Persona, Nyarlathotep.
Now, I've also come to the conclusion that Mukuro should have Fenrir as her initial Persona but I need your input on the second part of this debate, which involves lore important aspects. I'll simplify and abridge it for you when we get to it. First of all, obviously Mukuro was part of the Fenrir mercenary group. Obviously, she's basically the guard dog to Junko. In fact, she was basically a guard dog to Makoto too. (Fenrir was NOT Hel's guard or anything related but i'm just using symbolism). Obviously, Mukuro is very physically strong. Blah blah blah. This part alone is just too obvious not to have her have this Persona. Now to the second part.
Like I mentioned before at one point, Hel, Loki, Fenrir, and Jormungandr are argued to possibly not be "evil" in nature. Ignoring the others for now, it's argued Fenrir became a monster cuz of abuse. (Think of God of War 4 & Ragnarok). Norse pantheon tried to chain him up a lot but only succeeded the third time and then they put a sword in his mouth to mock him. My question for you mod is: Excluding Junko (which is the hard part), was Mukuro ever "abused" by the supposed good guys? This is important cuz it plays out Mukuro/Fenrir would want to assist Junko/Hel in ending everything.
If Mukuro is Fenrir, who's Odin and Tyr in this case? Odin gets killed by Fenrir and Tyr loses his hand cuz when they tried to trick Fenrir with the third chain, Fenrir got skeptical and Tyr had to offer his hand to make Fenrir trust them and when the third chain worked, Fenrir got mad and bit his hand off. Also, who's Vidar then? Vidar is Odin's son who eventually exact revenge on Fenrir but ripping/stabbing out his heart and breaking his teeth.
Fenrir broke the first two chains. The dwarves made a chain out of "impossible things" that "no longer exist in the world": The sound of a cat's footfall, a woman's beard, a mountain's roots, bear sinew, the breath of a fish, and the spittle of birds. They made a thin delicate looking ribbon and it worked on Fenrir. In this case, what would be Mukuro's Gleipnir?
Small little third part. Who'd be Jormungandr then? Yasuke? Ryoko? Jormungandr was a giant ass snake that circles the entire world and blah blah blah fought Thor at the end of the world and they killed each other. Thor died after taking nine steps backward before succumbing to poison.
Now for the last part of this rant. I think I might have finally found Mukuro's Ultimate Persona based on Lovecraftian mythos. The only problem I find is that, do these fuckers even exist? They feel fanmade. Regardless, I never like Yog Sothoth as her Persona like you said before (no offense) but it just didn't feel right. And now I found TWO people from Lovecraftian mythos who might fit the bill. The theme I wanted to go for was Mukuro is now trying to go against Junko and help the people and Future Foundation. And so, I present: N'tse-Kaambl and/or Nodens. I can't choose, though things might be leaning towards the first one.
N'tse is apparently "a beautiful woman in flowing robes bearing a spear and shield. Some credit the invention of the Elder Sign to her." Apparently, the Elder Sign is some kind of rune glyph that protects humanity from Elder Gods and binds them away or some shit. The stupid funny ass thing that makes this feel like some kind of weird fanfic to me is that 1. there is little real info about her and 2. she looks EXACTLY like Athena from Greek Mythology. Some people actually say that N'tse actually IS Athena and she crossed over myths to fend off Outer Gods. WTF. Regardless, you see where I'm going with this. Female Warrior lady who fights against Lovecraftian Abominations, which Junko is representing with Nyarlathotep.
Nodens is, I kid you not, apparently some badass old man fisherman hunter of Eldritch Abominations. And guess what? Just like N'tse, Nodens is ALSO a crossover god! He's actually a Celtic God of the Sea and Hunting who rides atop sea monsters, especially literal Sea Horses! WTF. Is this also fanfiction?! Nonetheless, Nodens gets special treatment cuz 1. In some way he is a Lovecraft God himself now but he's relatively benevolent and 2. Nodens actually is specifically stated to be hunting down and duking it out with Nyarlathotep. If you want Mukuro to specifically have the badass old man who dukes it out with motherfucking Nyarlathotep, who we are stating is Junko's Ultimate Persona (symbolism here), then I argue you give this fucker some thought.
And yes, I got both of these fuckers from Yugioh. I would say that they are not real lovecraft lore people, but guess what? Further research shows that THEY ARE NOW. I already said Yugioh has already made them official printed cards, that stupid nyarlathotep anime actually has these two characters, and so on. Stupid ass fanfic shit, but it's now canon.
So mod, pick your poison.
Tumblr media
//Lol, I like that it got your head spinning.
//A few points:
I like the Nyarle idea too, but I gotta admit this one sounds equally as good. There's a lot of really good connections that I didn't give much thought before now.
Jormungandr should probably be Ryoko over Yasuke. I say this because Ryoko is closer to being a third sister to the group, and in A Student Out of Time (not canon to this blog or the main one, but still something I thought about) Ryoko actually IS a third Enoshima sibling, not just another part of Junko. Plus, Akechi's multiple personalities (not DID but I think it's close enough) give way to multiple Personas. It's not hard to assume Junko could have her own variant of the wild card given how much she can shift about.
"Lacks any sympathy or empathy" and "indifferent and downcast gloomy death person" are two things that describe Junko perfectly. The core reason why she's so obsessed with Despair is because it's unpredictability is the only thing her Ultimate Analytical Prowess cannot foresee, and it gives her a thrill, which is why she's so crazy in the first place. When she's not high on Despair, she's usually pretty Izuru-like in terms of her behavior.
The only thing I can think of with anything related to abuse with Mukuro is that it took a LONG ass time for people to warm up to her and not see her as a criminal, killer, spy, murderer, Despair-sister, etc. And because of that, she ended up getting a lot of verbal and emotional abuse from everyone to varying extents, aside from Makoto. Things are obviously different now, but that's all I got.
It seems pretty appropriate for Vidar to be Koime's Shadow. Since not only did she kill Mukuro, but she's also hosting AI Junko, so there's a varying degree of Revenge there. And this one's a bit of a stretch, but as for Odin and Tyr...I know they're not characters on the blog yet, but how about Hijirihara and Fujigawa? Mukuro's obviously killed lots of people, but the trauma that turned both of them into bloodthirsty monsters comes directly from the Middle School Massacre that they survived. It's a stretch, as I said, but I think it's an ok idea.
Isn't Gleipnir an anime about a guy that can turn into a stuffed animal suit?
I never really liked my initial pick for Mukuro's Persona either, I VASTLY prefer this whole Fenrir thing in the grand scheme of things. And I'm all for that as her Ultimate Persona. It really encapsulates how far she's come as a person in blog context. I might have to steal that for any more stories I make related to PToH, assuming you don't mind.
