Mamá Mirabel AU

My own (rewritten) version of the mamá Mirabel AU, in which Mira takes care and basically raises Alejandra, Juancho, Cecilia and Antonio

Enjoy!

Ever since her failed ceremony, Mirabel tried very hard to prove to her family that she’s worth something.

But when she was 10, Pepa and Félix decided to take advantage of this, and dumped their newborn son Antonio onto the 10 year old girl to care for, the couple not wanting to be parents again. Besides, it gave that useless brat something to do other than be lazy.

Despite only being 10, Mirabel took good care of her primo, and loved him to bits.

Unfortunately, some of the townspeople got the same idea Pepa and Félix had, and decided to dump their kids onto the 10 year old as well.

In total, Mirabel had to care for 4 babies; Antonio, Juancho, Alejandra and Cecilia.

It obviously was hard caring for 4 young kids when being 10, especially when no one bothered to help you, but Mirabel somehow managed.

It went on for years. Every day, Mirabel had to go to town and take care of the 4 children while their actual parents were doing their chores, gossiping or mostly relaxing…

And obviously, the 4 kids started to see Mirabel as their mamá…

“Mami!” Antonio said, reaching towards Mirabel as little Juancho and Cecilia called her that as well. “Mami!”

Mirabel tried to correct them, saying that she wasn’t their mami, but it was already too late.

And when Alma, Pepa and the other parents found out, all hell broke loose…

Giant Mer Siren questions

Do guppies go to school? If so, do they eat Livyatan (large prehistoric whale) and megalodon(prehistoric shark) for lunch? I’m using these big prehistoric animals because I’m convinced a swarm of guppies can make a whale disappear in less than a millisecond like piranhas.

Or, do guppies eat during lessons? Like say teachers leave a pile of fish near each student in case they get hungry. (a cute little idea i had is the guppies swimming around like a school of fish for field trips and such. Or, they ride on a giant mer sirens back like in finding nemo)

Do teen mer sirens still eat every 5 minutes or do they eat regularly? I’m asking because teens grow a lot as it is and I know giant teen sirens are still growing to be full grown.

Do giant sirens keep some creatures as pets? Like Julieta has clownfish, Bruno has sea horses, and pepa has tiger fish? Or do they keep large creatures as pets like Livyatan, Megalodons, giant squid, etc?

Do you mind if I do some world building around your au? Most of it has to do with the different types of sea people.

So school isn’t really a thing. If there’s guppies gathered in one place, it’s more like a daycare. Usually one of the teenagers or adults stick with the guppies and kinda follow them around, make sure they don’t wander off or something. And yes. A group of guppies, even only 4, can easily take down something as big as a whale in a matter of minutes. Mind you the daycare can last for a few days, because most the time the guppies are only there because the adults are hunting and can’t watch them. So whoever is watching gets to deal with a bunch of hungry guppies 👹👹

Also fun fact that I never mentioned by siren guppies are. Freakishly strong. It’s terrifying tbh. It's worse when they're hungry, cause despite being somewhat weak in terms of stamina, physically, they are way too busted 😭

Yes they do eat. All the time. Whoever is watching has to constantly have a source of food or has to be able to quickly supply food. Consequently, if they don’t, the guppies will take matters into their own hands. And trust, that’s not something you want to happen <333

Kind of? The teens eat a lot still, but not nearly as much as guppies do. They can hold off longer, and usually they’re fine if they don��t eat, they don’t lose that much energy and aren’t weak. Nor are they in danger of going into their human forms.

Yes, they can have pets! They can be just about anything that can be tamed. Bruno does keep several sea horses around, and the other family, it varies. They can have big pets, but they’re kind of uncommon. They’re hard to tame, except ones like whales and all that. It’s not uncommon, however, for full schools of fish be something like pets. Just keep them away from the guppies 💀

And yes! Go ahead and world build, I don’t mind :)

Bruno turned away from the book shop and yelped, a hand pressed to his heart.

Three little kids stood before him, uncomfortably close, staring up at him with big eyes and curious expressions.

He recognised them as three of the kids who always followed Mirabel around. They were friendly with Antonio. For the life of him, he couldn't remember their names. But who didn't know the little kid with the coffee addiction?

"Did you really save Mira from a murderer?" the little girl with a dahlia in her braid demanded.

"Were you fixing Casita? Papí said you were fixing Casita," the other little girl asked. What was her name again? Celene? Celeste...No, Cecilia, that was it! She was at Julieta's stall yesterday with a sprained wrist, poor kid.

"Uh..." Bruno's grip on his new books tightened nervously.

The coffee kid was bouncing on the spot. That eyelid twitch could not be healthy.

"Was Mirabel super sick? Were you finding a magic cure?" he asked, far too loudly.

They were looking at him expectantly. On one hand, Sofia's rumours had been very handy. On the other hand, Bruno had no idea how to answer.

God help him, they were as loud as three little Camilos. It was enough to make him shudder.

But they were still staring, expecting an answer.

"...Sí," Bruno eventually said.

"Which one?" Coffee Kid practically yelled.

The dahlia girl (Alejandra?) gasped, eyes wide and hands pressed to her cheeks. "Was it all three!?" she screamed.

Bruno's ears hurt.

Slowly, he nodded. "Sí," he said flatly, awkwardly.

The kids gasped loudly, so loudly that it was a little ridiculous, and he found himself trying not to laugh at their over-the-top enthusiasm.

"Well, uh...I gotta go," Bruno said, turning for Casita and hurrying away.

Just his luck, the kids hurried after him, all three of them still shouting questions.

Obviously his animals come first, I think I’ve only mentioned Parce and Pico in my posts though, and all of the Madrigals have good relationships with him; especially Bruno. Aside from that, I imagine he’d gain a couple of close friends in the village during the rebuild of Casita, as they all looked so excited for him during his ceremony.

Considering how friendly he is with everyone and his role as a babysitter, I think Camilo would be the one to introduce his shy brother. I believe he’d become very close with the kids we meet at the start of the film - Alejandra, Cecilia and Juancho - they would be a nice compliment to Antonio.

Summary:

The Encanto had experienced one of their biggest crises when the Madrigal family saw their Casita fall. Fortunately, they had been able to rebuild it with the help of the townspeople. Following that incident, the mountains were now split up, allowing anyone to get into the Encanto. Funny it took so long for someone new to actually enter the town!

And that first person was the doctor Alborotadora Remedios, therapist. While she had been hiking for days, a bag with all of her things on her back and the sun hot on her dark brown skin, she discovered an opening in the mountains. Her map wasn’t indicating any path or any way through, contradicting what she had in front of her. Wondering if it was related to the recent earthquake she had heard about, she decided to give it a go, reminding herself of all the times she enticed her patients into not being afraid to try new things. What kind of therapist would she be if she wasn’t applying her own advice? She told herself she’d back up if there was any danger.

Pepa didn’t like to admit it, but she was jealous, really jealous.

Seeing how happy her sister and brother were with their kids, seeing Julieta’s and Ozma’s stomaches while they were pregnant. Knowing that she couldn’t have that joy of having a child, sharing that with Félix… it made her mad…

She always wanted children, and showed it by how she interacted with Isabela and Dolores, but as hard as she and Félix tried and tried, it didn’t seem to work…

Pepa’s jealousy grew, and started to lash out at Mirabel because of it. Though she stopped and apologized to her niece after Bruno called her out on her behavior.

As the years passed, Pepa accepted the fact that; no, she and Félix couldn’t have children, biologically at least. So, the couple focused on serving the village, as well as babysitting their nieces and nephews when Julieta, Agustín, Bruno or Ozma needed a break.

But one day, when Pepa was 45, the tragic news broke that three separate babies were orphaned.

There was baby Juancho, who was abandoned by his parents who didn’t want children. Baby Alejandra, who’s mother passed away during childbirth without a father in the picture. And baby Cecilia, who’’s mother left the Encanto and her father suddenly became I’ll and tragically passed…

Hearing the news, the Madrigals were shocked, and devastated for the babies.

Alma immediately asked the town who would willingly raise the children.

But Pepa interfered.

“Félix and I will raise them.” She said with clear determent. She didn’t want those three kids to grow up with parents who felt forced to take care of them. She wanted to offer them a home.

“Are you sure, Pepa?” Alma asked. She wasn’t complaining, but she wanted to make sure her daughter knew what she was doing.

“Yes, Mamá.” Pepa said, Félix nodding as well.

So, it was decided. Alejandra, Cecilia and Juancho would be raised by the warm couple.

And three doors appeared.

Pepa and Félix raised the three kids, with love and care.

They adopted them around the time when Antonio was born, so the townspeople and some of the Madrigals called the four kids “the quadruplets”.

When the kids turned 5, gift ceremonies arrived. Antonio got the gift of speaking to animals, Juancho got super-speed, Cecilia could communicate and control insects, and Alejandra had flight.

Pepa and Félix couldn’t be happier for their kids.

Finally, they had their family😊

The designs and info of isa’s family!!

Firstly Isabela! The mother of Camilo, Antonio and Dolores!! Her life is pretty rough, she was 6 when her father was taken away from her, while witnessing everything. She had a shitty ass husband who made her family’s life a miserable, the only reason she even married him was because of Alma, and arranged marriage. She divorced him 2 years ago and now she’s happily single. Alma still pressures her in this au too but since the divorce Alma has become much more softer and lowered her standards. Before she had Dolores though she had 2 miscarriages because of her husband!

Isabela was a crazy teenager, she also had a normal sistly relationship with mirabel, sometimes she was maybe mean but she knows mirabel knew she didn’t mean it, at least she thinks that. Her life changed when mirabel disappeared, not having mirabel in her wedding or when she had her kids was the worst. Since then she made sure her family was happy so they wouldn’t wanna leave like mirabel too.

It’s true that Isabela is a protective mother and maybe strict (like asian moms) but she’s the most caring person at the same time. You would never catch her be mean to Dolores or any other little kid. She has a nickname for every family member and a flower too!

Camilo is the eldest grandkid, being more than 5 years older than the others is hard for him, he constantly needs to “be a good influence”. Instead he is the most unserious grandkid, but the funniest! Alma tried to get him arranged with many girls but he passed them since he got eyes for an other person ;) He also had a pretty rough childhood because of his father, he abused him often without Isabela knowing and he was a pretty bad trouble kid. He had a close bond with his Tia mirabel though! Many called them “the age gap twins!” Isabela never complained. Camilo is a smoker, not a badly one just the one who smokes time to time, he got the addiction from his father :\ Camilo is 100% a mama’s boy.

He is a hardworking boy, charming and caring. Yet also trouble some and annoying too, he loves it to annoy his younger siblings or cousins, which they all hate from him besides Pepa. Him and Pepa have special bond, it often reminds him of the bond of him and mirabel, he and pepa often do pranks on others together or are just being besties together. He does have a lot going on which he hates, he is called “the one who never cares” often even though it is just hard for him.

Antonio!! He is as tall as canon mirabel in this au, and a bit chubby!! Antonio is a very shy kid and barely doesn’t have any friends, besides his idiotic trio friends, Juancho-Cecilia-Alejandra! The best four group you would see in town, he loves them very much as friends. Like Camilo, Antonio has a got a bd childhood, experiencing the same abuse as Camilo got. That hit his social life a lot and has made him isolated too, his friends and family kept him up the bad weather, which he is thankful for. He got a scar at his lip because when he was very little, he was playing with a Jaguar cup and the mother jaguar approached him and attacked him, just luckily hurting his lip before Diego saved him. (That jaguar turned out to be parces mother!) he’s still pretty childish in this au which makes him adorable, Alma tries to make him get more friends or more popular but he refuses often.

He’s a deliver boy! His main chore is delivering stuff around the down, he doesn’t like it very much but it’s just what he’s got to do, he thinks his gift could be much more useful but no one will listen to him. He’s the second eldest in the family and he quiet does act like a good influence, if it wasn’t for Julieta, Julieta is confirmed to be the best one out of the grandkids. (Well by Alma to say the least.) that doesn’t stop him from still having an good relationship with her.

Dolores is also a shy kid, shy enough for her to get nervous with her family too! She’s a free child who likes music and drawing a lot. Dolores is left unattended often since she’s quiet mature her age but she doesn’t like it to be alone. Her gift ceremony was a half month ago and it’s her nightmare, Dolores hates her gift but in the other side likes it slightly too. It has its own purpose. She didn’t have a too much bad childhood like Antonio and Camilo but unlike them she was a huge daddy’s girl. If he would’ve pushed her away or screamed at her she would still come back because she actually truly loved her dad no matter what but one day when she was 3 he randomly came to her and broke her leg (the reason Isabela divorced him) which broke her heart and now that he’s gone she is heart broken often, but she has grown more attached to antonio and isabela, if you would try and find her just go to either one of them and she’s there with them!

Later on she will meet someone called “senorita maripose” who she will talk to everyday is secret. For her senorita mariposa is a goddess guard guiding her home, like in a fairy tale (at least that’s what she got told by the woman.) Dolores doesn’t have any friends besides her best friend Mariano! She gets to see him very often and she loves him more than anything (not in a love way, they’re still kids!) they do make trouble often together and he’s the one only one who knows about senorita mariposa.

Ivan….yea…don’t got to say much about him. He is not a great guy since he grew up in a weird family. He got arrested 7 years in prison for child abuse and after Isabela found out what he had done everything she destroyed him. But at least he deserved it. He did pretty bad stuff.

"Mama I'm back and we need another nest." Mirabel called as she came back to the family den, another baby cradled in her arms. This one was a little older than the ones she usually adopted.

The mother had hunted her down desperately and said that she was worried her husband would kill the little girl because of her eyes being two different colors. And because he had wanted a boy.

So Mirabel once more took in a baby although this one was several months old instead of near newborn like her other babies, the oldest ones being almost four now.

"Mama! Mamas back!" Alejandra called, her little howler monkey racing over as fast as she could.

"Look look! Mama look we learned what Coco is! She's a caoti! Cecil said beaming as she carefully carried her two year old baby sister.

"And Rico is a puma!" That was Juancho who was cuddling with the youngest baby at the moment. The one and a half year old Rico.

"Hello ninos. Come meet your new sister. This is Elena." Mirabel said smiling as she knelt down to show her group of children the new addition who now had soft downy feathers growing on her.

The town kids want to know more about Bruno. When they start asking where he was, Bruno uses the new rumours to his advantage. He's no stranger to distracting excitable kids with story time.
