As another way that something can date back to Eggman's childhood, which a lot of other things about him seem to in the games too which I'm super happy about, I like to think he always loved theme parks but it was like never in a totally innocent normal way. He liked theme parks and especially rollercoasters and any other rides that were big, high, fast, and crazy because he thought it was awesome cool and fun for the high action and risk and was very thrilled and passionate about that

But I like to think he just as quickly had a fascination for dangerous and deadly rides because he wanted to know just how extreme, shocking and scary they can get. When he'd learn of horrific accidents in parks he'd think it was epic and funny. XD He was passionate and curious about both, it became his special interest and combined with his genius he easily learned and memorized everything about ones he liked down to exact measurements, speed, how they were created and operated, etc

He started to sketch his own ideas and designs inspired by the exciting ones he could actually ride and enjoy and combine them with things he liked about the canceled scary and dangerous ones and it resulted in his perfect ideal entertaining rides that he dreamed of making a reality, as he would decades later as an adult. He was always so entertained by the idea of things falling apart, exploding, throwing people off, abruptly stopping and plunging people to their doom lol

And he still draws them out today but now as real plans for creations he makes into a reality in his gloriously twisted theme parks and has the exact same entertainment, passion, and amusement in it as he did as a child, nothing changed there and it never gets old to him, he has the same childlike wonder, joy, and cheekiness in it. Well except for how he also knowingly gets very sadistic enjoyment out of it too as his fascination only became more extreme and deranged over time!

I like thinking that combining innocent things with deeply messed up, dangerous, and deadly things was always a fascination of his even as a child, with many other things like carnivals, circuses, casinos, toys, etc too. But theme parks are his favorite because even when innocent and designed for safety, there's still thrill and risk and he gets even more excitement out of making it even more extreme by making it intentionally as dangerous, scary, and messed up as possible.

And that's how you end up with the existence of the glorious sadistic hell on earth that's Eggmanland and Eggman's mindset behind it 🥰💜💕

I don't have that same feeling about the first Merida episode, but I was thinking and this second episode (The Bear King) is by all means a fine episode. And to be honest fits the ouat formula, the one that has gotten memed several times:

Merida is trying to find her father's killer to get a magic helmet her father got from the witch. So she recruits the help of Mulan, who fought alongside Merida's father. At the same time Arthur joins the Wicked Witch to find that magic helmet. (In other words, that post about quasimodo asking where's the amulet and edgar from the aristocats hanging out with lighting mcqueen)

And it's stupid but that's kinda the fun about this show's premise. The problem is that the show evolved to focus just on the snow white story, and not even from the fairy tale version, but it's own show version. So you have this entire plotline be about the Dark One, something that is not a fairytale but comes directly from the show, and suddenly they put you a season 1 episode that includes a lot of characters that have nothing to with that plotline, after a big cliffhanger related to the main characters and original show story

If there's one thing TGWDLM fans are gonna do, it's think about the implications. And the implications of the opening number are crazy.

So. We know that the show isn't completely chronological since the opening number takes place before the meteor hits. So that song is a sort of "flash forward" moment. But when you think about it, we don't really know how far in the future it takes place.

What we do know is that by the time it's happening, Emma is infected. She has a little solo in it singing about how Paul is pining over a barista

And we know that this is meant to be an infected Emma specifically. Lauren had other characters in the show, if they wanted to avoid the Emma implication they would've just dressed her as one of those.

So we know this is meant to be Emma.

And Emma isn't infected until the very end of the show. She's dragged off stage during the credits. So since she's infected in the opening number, we know the number takes place after the events of the show.

Another important detail is that Paul is infected before Emma. He's the one that passes it on to her.

So back to the opening number, Emma is infected. Which means by just following a simple timeline, Paul must also be infected. He should be singing and dancing, right?

But that's not what happens. Paul misses his entrance.

If Paul is infected, then there's no reason he should be missing his entrance. Furthermore, if he's a part of a hive mind, there's no reason other members of the same hive mind shouldn't know where he is. They are literally all connected by one brain, and yet both Mr. Davidson and Bill express they have no clue where he went.

What I'm saying is that Paul is not infected. He was infected (again, we know that because Emma is infected and he was infected before her) but now he's not anymore.

I'm saying there's a way out of the hive, and Paul found it. That's the only explanation that makes sense given the facts of the situation. Sometime after the events of tgwdlm, Paul is able not only to break out the hive mind, but to hide from it.

And if he broke out, others could do the same. Maybe even Emma.

Edit because a countertheory has emerged: Yes it's possible that everyone is infected the entire time and the show itself is just Pokey replaying the events for the fun of it. But it seems unlikely to me. First of all, each of the Lords in Black has a distinct personality. They all are evil, but within that they seems to fall somewhere on a spectrum of "silly billy" to "prick." For example, Tinky is more of a silly billy. He toys with humans without much of a motive and more for just shits and giggles. But in every instance, Pokey's more on the extreme side of prick.

He's one of the few with an actual motive behind what he does. In Yellowjacket, it's confirmed that Pokotho hates the sound of anyone's voice except for his own. The events of TGWDLM don't happen because Pokey is bored, they happen because he is executing a plan. So I don't think that he would just have them play out their little scenario just to entertain him, especially just one small island? I just feel like he'd be more focused on world domination.

If the theory is that all this is happening after Pokey's already taken over the whole world, no one was successful in stopping him, then yes it's plausible, but still weird. There are a strange amount of things in that show you just think an eldritch god wouldn't include.

Edit 2: New evidence has emerged???

The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals is loosely based off of Invasion of The Body Snatchers. Paul's last name is even a nod to the main character, Matthew. At the end of the film, Matthew survives, and continues living among the infected, pretending to be one of them. And wouldn't that be just such a fun little parallel...

Obviously it doesn't prove anything but the source material doesn't lie folks.

and so it dials up a notch— gojo works his ass off trying to prove himself to u, caught in this secret competition with this irritably good lookin guy who’s clearly out to steal u from him. ofc he won’t have any of that. but you’re completely oblivious— bless your sweet heart, so the reason ur childhood bsf gets so angry all of a sudden is completely bewildering to u. is he mad at you…? were u not good enough at street fighter for him???? and so by absolute mistake u dump gojo and ur school friend together at a machine ‘for a game against a more suitable opponent’ and skitter away to mind your business elsewhere— and win those cute keychains u saw earlier to match w gojo.

and obviously gojo doesnt take kindly to that— but instead of acting like a normal person and letting it slide, he vows to beat ur friend’s ass (‘in the game’ ofc..) as an act of vengeance, more for himself than for u. but he’s never gonna admit that to your face, is he? much less the way he so desperately wishes for you to notice his overwhelming feelings; the fluttering in his chest he gets whenever he’s around u that your school friend so helpfully points out while they’re duking it out in a game of tabletop hockey. apparently, ur friend has no interest— it’s a free game for gojo. but he can’t seem to work up the nerve to tell u, even when you offer him the keychains u won with ur blood sweat and tears; the reason you were gone for so long in the liminal space of the arcade, and the reason his tiny, itsy bitsy harmless crush turns into something much more staggering, a stake in his heart that only drives deeper everytime he sees the lonely keychain hanging from his school bag and is reminded that you’re nowhere near him. he’s never gonna be able to say it to ur pretty face, and ur scumbag new ‘boyfriend’ hanging around u knows it too.

A/N: Something about writing TWST fluff that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

Trey teases you when it's just the two of you, he's not a big prankster and is rather down to earth when compared to some of his dormmates. He likes to do the little things like complimenting you a lot about things he knows will make you flustered, or pulling you towards him unexpectedly and nibbling on your ear just a little to get you to yelp and gasp.

Ace doesn't go one break without teasing you. He wouldn't do it in the middle of classes but after? Oh you bet. He's always holding your hand, commenting on how small and gentle it is compared to his right before kissing it and watching you turn the same color as his heart tattoo. Always gets a laugh out of seeing you so cute and flustered, which is why he has no intention of stopping, he knows you'll get back at him sooner or later.

Leona might be lazy but let no one call him passionless, especially not when you're the subject of his passion. Can be both aggressive and gentle with his teasing. Sometimes it's holding you close, your back against the wall while he mouths at your neck while whispering how much he missed you during classes and other times it's mumbling in his sleep about random things he likes about you. Most of the time he doesn't even remember doing that, it's just second nature at this point.

Ruggie is a very mischievous guy, he will tease you whenever he gets the chance, no opportunity is too small or too big. Passing love notes to you during class is a must, stolen winks, taking a bite of your food before offering you his while talking about indirect kisses and promising real ones later are all part of an almost daily occurrence with him.

Azul chooses the moments he's going too tease you very carefully. He has to make sure to do it when you least expect it. When you're walking to class he'll walk up next to you kiss you for good luck and then walk off, he'll drape his arms around you while you're in the café, watching your face adopt that cute but bashful smile right before he wipes it off your face with a sweet kiss after delivering you your order.

Jamil being a pretty reserved person, at least in public will sometimes squeeze your hand a little to let you know when he's about to let go and always kiss your cheek before and after class. His teasing comes in the form of his looks, his ever so slightly devious smirk as he looks at you from the other side of the classroom, the hidden silent words mouthed at you. Nothing to get either of you in trouble but enough to make you want to kiss him silly after classed end.

Rook despite looking like a gentleman has a hidden mean side to him. Not actually evil although you do call him that when his kisses leave you breathless and wanting for more. Yet somehow he always kisses you like that just before the bell rings. While on walks he knows what spots to take you to where you won't be disturbed so he can have fun with you away from prying eyes. There you can whimper all you want, there's no need to hold back.

Idia sends a lot of flirty messages and sometimes pictures of him without his shirt on because he claims it's too hot to be wearing one. He'll never tease you in public though, be protective yes, but not tease. In his opinion that side of him is only for you to witness and take delight in. He feels similarly about seeing you flustered, at least for now he'd like to keep it for himself.

Malleus likes whispering things to you while you're nestled in his arms. Hearing, feeling you react to his words is some of the best rewards he can hope for. Well other than he way you moan when his fangs make marks on your neck or your inner wrist. He knows you're asking for more, but you must be patient and wait, meet him later tonight, and he'll make all your wishes come true.
