Day 13 Angry Tears
Still on catch up for whumpril, here's day 13
Familiar faces, set TVD season 3 end of ep 13 and beginning of Ep 14, take place before Adrenaline
Elijah doesn't deal with Esther's return well and Esther doesn't take the hint.
-----
I want us to be a family again. It echoed around in his head.
He had been silent since he had had to pull on Kol’s sleeve to ask him to stop Rebekah, to get her to leave Elena alone, his younger brother had stared at him a moment before vanishing after her one his second 'Please'.
After that he stood at a distance watching as Esther spoke to his remaining siblings. To reassure her boys, calming Finn's anger over her death and soothing Klaus’s nerves. It wasn’t that different from his childhood, Elijah stood quietly until he was needed to calm bickering younger siblings or distract them when mother wanted to focus on her dark arts.
I want us to be a family again.
She looked unchanged, her clothes a frozen picture of a long forgotten time, a village buried under dirt and people reduced to dust through the passage of time
And yet she was there, alive, speaking to them of forgiveness and new chances, and Elijah was bitter, angry, another parent returned but again the wrong one.
How come she got to speak of forgiveness when she had never asked for theirs when she stole their lives and futures from them. When she ignored her husband’s violence leaving bruises on them.
I want us to be a family again.
He had planned to wait for Rebekah and Kol, to apologize to for Elena’s actions and his failure to undagger her and to properly reunite with his brother. He had tried but watching as Finn and Klaus slipped back into the way things used to be, looking at mother as if she had done nothing wrong, made him sick, angry.
I want us to be a family again.
It was giving him a headache, Elijah Mikaeslon’s original love and idealization of her, his anger over her failings made worse by the countless deaths where he relieved them all over again. Watching Finn seemingly forgot the words they had shared months ago, before Elijah  remembered everything.
They ruined us.
We can do better.
Remembering what Esther had done in the aftermath of him killing Tatia, what he had done to Klaus when he had learnt the truth.
And as Klaus looked between them, Elijah realised he couldn’t stay, as anger and secrets burned inside. Klaus couldn’t know that he knew about her, couldn’t learn what he had made Aurora do out of his own anger and grief.
He wanted to go home, to Jenna, Jeremy and his cats, to call Elena or his brothers, older brothers who cared, even if one was without his humanity it was still better than watching as two of his brothers apparently forgot all the pain Esther had caused them as they tried to please her.
He just needed to get away.
“Elijah, where are you going?” Klaus called before he managed to get to the door.
“Home.” He called back, ignoring the fact he could hear the three of them following him, he was surprised Klaus hadn’t used his speed to grab him but he supposed that was a positive of her presents.
“This is our home.” Klaus snapped, and Elijah twisted to face them.
Mother and her golden boys, Elijah smother the thought as he took them in Esther expression almost blank if not for the faint concern, Klaus angry and Finn looking at him almost pleadingly until Elijah met his eyes and he looked away.
They ruined us.
We can do better.
‘Apparently not’ Elijah thought, Finn could offer comfort to a teenager that barely remembered him but once Esther returned Elijah was once again a reminder of an event he wasn’t there for, an annoyance and obstruction.
“I’m not playing happy families,” he replied keeping his anger from his tone, adding as Klaus started looking hurt and Esther gained a disproving expression, “not with a woman always more concerned about her own appearance than the good of her children.”
Esther flinched at the words looking shocked to be the target of his anger while Klaus blinked looking at him with confusion.
He looked at Finn who kept looking away, Elijah would have taken it as an improvement if his older brother hadn’t reached out to Esther, to offer her comfort over the truth being laid at her feet.
Right, he should have known better.
I want us to be a family again.
She could have that but Elijah wasn’t going to be part of it.
—--
Jenna hadn’t asked much when he arrived at the door, just pulled him into a tight hug and let him go to his room, barely touched since he was last there.
He almost damaged the expensive suit that Klaus had brought him in his rush to get it off and change into his own clothes and pulled on one of Dad’s sweatshirts over the top.
It was still too big and he thinks as he breathes in he could almost pretend dad was still there.
Neither Luci or Kit seemed to hold any grudge over the months he had left them and had joined him as he pulled the cover over himself, he hadn’t wanted to talk or think.
It wasn’t fair, how come Mikeal and Esther returned when all they had done was hurt and damage their children while his parents, mum and dad, stayed dead no matter how much their children wanted-needed them.
He swallowed around the lump in his throat and kept his eyes closed ignoring the heat under his closed lids. He wasn’t sad, he was angry but he was a thousand years old, he was too old to cry over it.
—-
In the morning his call to Elena added more to his problems Kol had fulfilled his promise and stopped Rebekah and told her about Esther, Elijah pretty sure his twin knew he wasn’t happy about that by his flat tone but she had also told him what he had been missing stuck under Niklaus’s possessive guard since Mikeal’s death, Caroline’s dad was dead, Alaric was in hospital and someone was hunting down council members.
She was still staying at the boarding house, both a mentioned returning that day, excited about living together again, just the promise of that had managed to slightly loosen the knot inside him.
He could have his family back, Esther, Finn and Klaus could go back to playing happy family and Elijah could still have all his siblings, without needing to stop them killing each other. For a brief moment Esther’s return was a blessing.
When he smiled at Jenna it was real, it was content and peaceful as both ate breakfast at the table and he ignored the guilt at the idea of having left Jenna here alone, before it was interrupted by a knock at the door.
Elijah didn’t think to hesitate to answer the door, expecting to see either of his younger siblings, a chance to reconnect with them, he was more than disappointed when found someone else there
He froze when the door opened to Esther, looking far more suited to the modern day than she had, the night before.
It made looking at her hurt less but somehow made his anger worse.
“Hello?” Jenna called over Elijah's shoulder as he found his words gone as he starred.
“Hello, I'm Esther Mikaelson,” she introduced herself to Jenna smile at her over Elijah. “I’m inviting you to the Mikaelson ball and I've come to collect Elijah-”
“No.” he cut her off, looking at the envelope in her hands.
Gilbert House.
“Elijah” she started like a disappointed mother over a tantrum which she could have been if he was very aware he had been the one to deal with most of his younger siblings fights and tantrums, and that during most of his own he’d been left alone or for Finn to deal with. “I understand your anger, Klaus shouldn’t have forced you to move in with him, he should have allowed you to bring your belongings but as a fam-”
He almost choked as he listened to her, had she ignored what he said or was she so sure he would relent and return to his place, the one he had put himself when he was a child and it was the only way to get her attention, the way his brothers had.
“Please leave,” he cut her off “I’ve invited Rebekah and Kol” not you went unspoken.
“I asked them to let me speak-” she started, he ignored her instead trying to close the door.
“Don’t care.” he smiled until the door froze and he could feel her magic in the air.
“Eylaugr Mim”- she started old Norse rolling from her tongue as if her had never stopped speaking to which may have been true, Elijah was just relieved it no longer gave him a headache, however the idea that she thought she could browbeat him back into his place with a name snapped his temper.
“GILBERT.” he shouted, pleased that at least stopped her, “Elijah Gilbert, the name’s on the invitation Esther.” He lifted the paper to her and watched her as she took a step back at the use of her name, her reaction was a balm to the hot anger burning in his chest, the flicker of hurt he caught. “I love my siblings, they are the only thing I'm keeping. Mikael’s name and everything else from either of you, I cast off.”
“Elijah,” she called her hand going to her heart, and yet the magic holding the door didn’t let up “you're my son, a part of this family.”
I want us to be a family again.
He had a family; it was scattered and broken but it was his and she wasn’t a part of it.
“Fuck your family! The one where you ignored your favourite son’s tears so you could keep your husband, the standing you gained from him and your lover. He was the head of his pack; he could have claimed Niklaus, saved at least one of your children from the raging man you choose.” he revealed it all, the secrets that shaped them and scared them just as well, none of that matter to him anymore  “I raised them as much as you, from the time i was five and you gave me Klaus, while you had fed Kol, then the same for Kol and Rebekah.”
He took a deep breath pleased when she kept quiet.
“The joys of this curse i’ve been living,” he explained sarcastically “is reliving every moment leading to my death, every time. I was never a child for you, neither was Finn really, just extra hands, we never got the chance to because you pushed everything you could on us. He might be happy to return to doing your bidding but i’m not, I've outgrown that need for the crumbs of your attention.”
“Elijah this is a second chance for all of us to do better.” She offered her hands reaching out, Elijah may have believed it before, but if she had changed, had seen the errors of her ways, where was the apology for turning him into the monster that had murdered the woman he loved, why was her power still stopping him from closing the door.
It was a mask, he wondered if she even knew how much of herself she was faking, at least it explained where Elijah had gotten that habit.
“All of us you failed first” he shook his head as he explained, “Try it with the others, they always mattered more, your secret keeper, your golden boy you kept from a good father for your own selfishness, your blessed prodigy that you stole his magic from, or the daughter you took any chance at a family of her own from.”
“You're my son.” she repeated but the words just caused the hot feeling in his eyes to grow.
He wasn’t going to cry, not in front of her, she didn’t get that, not after a childhood of ignoring his tears.
“You're not my mother.” he told her, the words offering him a lightness in his chest he took comfort in as he kept going “I’m the Gilbert's son, I was your spare set of hands.” he used the surprise at his own magic to slam the door before any more spite could escape him.
Angry tears escaped him instead as he glared at the door.
—--
Jenna waited for a moment after the door slammed, watching as her nephew’s back curled over slightly until the first shudder escaped him and she placed a hand of his shoulder.
She wasn’t going to force him to turn to her or anything of the sort just offer him the comfort she had wanted to do since she had been forced to sign the guardianship forms, to make sure he knew he wasn’t alone.
Her chest hurts when he twists and crumples against her, curling into her to hide, the way she used to watch him do with her sister despite the fact he’s taller than her, he wrapped her arms around him.
Another painful realisation was she had missed him growing in the last couple of months.
“I’m a thousand years old, I should be far beyond this.” came quietly and she just held him tighter. A thousand or eighteen, he was still her little nephew, the one she watched grow.
“I don't think you ever grow past your parents hurting you.” She tells him she had heard enough to work most of it out, Elijah was happy to be reunited with his original siblings but the same wasn’t true of his first parents.
“She’s not.” he snapped but he carried no weight, “I hate her.” he muttered into her shoulder, almost calmly if she hadn’t heard his voice crack.
“Oh honey.” she sighed sadly, reaching up and running a hand through his hair. He had cut it while he was living away, started gelling it but it seemed hadn’t done that yet this morning. “But you don't, do you?”
“I want to. She deserves it.” he grumbled.
“I’m sure.” She agrees, she had alway wondered where the maturity that had haunted her little nephew had come from, after learning about his dreams and past lives she had thought it was those that made sense. But no, it was a horrible pair of people who should never have become parents in the first place screwing up their kids, a thousand years ago, so bad that they haunted the world in the aftermath.
I raised them, he had said pain clear i was five. I was never a child.
“Why was it them that came back, why not mom and dad.” Elijah muttered angrily and Jenna hugged him tighter, knowing she couldn’t be her sister but needing him to know he wasn’t alone.

Mackenzie sat at the breakfast table, her mouth full of pancake, hot tea cooling down next to her bowl of fresh fruits, staring at Klaus and Rebekah who were arguing over the guest list. Elijah was sitting right next to her, a cup of coffee in one hand, and that day’s newspaper in the other. He kept sighing and his siblings kept ignoring him. Mackenzie’s eyes moved from them to him, perhaps expecting him to stop it all, or hoping he would.
“Why can’t I bring my friends?” Rebekah asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
“What friends?” Klaus mocked. “You have no friends.”
“Yes I do!”
“Name one.”
“April. And Matt.”
Klaus laughed. “April Young? The pastor’s daughter? She doesn’t count.”
“Why not? She’s helped me this year, and I’ve helped her! And she knows who I am, and she still wants to be my friend.”
“So, this is who you call your friends, uh? A human teenager and a bartender who probably won’t ever speak to you again since we tricked them into bringing back Kol.”
“I had nothing to do with that,” she brushed his comment away, however it was clear her brother’s words were affecting her, as doubt settled in her mind.
“Fine, you can invite them if you want, they’re not going to come, anyway.”
“Yes, they will, you’ll see!” she said, before storming out of the kitchen.
“Compelling them doesn’t count!” he shouted after her.
“Was that really necessary, brother?”
“What? I just don’t want her to get false hope,” he faked concern.
“Do we really have to do this?” Mackenzie asked.
“Of course we do. You’re a Mikaelson now, it’s time to tell the world.”
“Why does the world need to know?” she mumbled, making Elijah smile.
“We have plenty of enemies, Mackenzie. We have to show the world our family is strong.”
“Mystic Falls isn’t the world…”
“You know, I couldn’t help but notice, Niklaus, that every council member is on that guest list.”
“I’m just trying to be a good neighbor,” he said, giving his brother an insincere smile.
“I’m starting to think this was never about Mackenzie. You’re making a move on the town.”
Klaus chuckled. “You may have noticed, brother, that this town is very anti-vampire, and I aim to change that.”
“Why?” Kol asked as he entered the kitchen, his hair in disarray, his joggings falling low on his hips. “Just leave.”
Mackenzie looked at the vampire as he poured himself a cup of coffee, she stared for a second at the muscles on his back, before looking away.
“What happened to your shirt?” Klaus asked.
“What shirt?”
Elijah sighed as he gave a look to Mackenzie, who was suddenly very focused on her breakfast.
“Are you leaving us, brother?” Klaus asked.
“Of course I am. I’m not staying any longer in this town than I have to. I’ll be gone after the ball.”
“What happened to us being a family?” Klaus asked, obviously upset by Kol’s plans.
“Did I miss that memo that says we’re not family anymore if we don’t live under the same roof?”
“We could have a life here.”
“Yes, a really boring one. You know, Stefan is right. We have no friends here, no reason to stay.”
“We were born here.”
“A thousand years ago! I’m staying for the ball for Mackenzie, but that’s it. After that, I’m gone.”
“Actually, there will be no ball,” Elijah said. “Niklaus, you planned this under the false pretenses of welcoming Mackenzie to the family. I will ask you not to insult her, or me, by making it all about you and your need to control everything, for once. If you really want to welcome her, then we will celebrate with a nice dinner, tonight. It will be intimate, with only us, the remaining members of the Mikaelson family.”
Klaus was fuming, and both Elijah and Mackenzie could see he was debating whether or not to let it all out now or play nice for the time being. He chose the latter.
“Why not? It sounds lovely,” he said dryly, before he exited the room.
“Great, then I can leave tomorrow,” Kol rejoiced.
He finished his coffee then put the mug down on the counter before following Klaus’ footsteps.
Elijah and Mackenzie ate in silence for a moment before he broke it, his eyes never leaving the newspaper.
“No more walking around with no shirt on after tomorrow…”
Mackenzie grinned, amused by his jealousy. “Well, I don’t know, you could always start walking around shirtless… I won’t complain.”
He smirked. “I’m not sure my siblings would appreciate it.”
“Then maybe we should leave town too, or get a place of our own…”
“Should we?” he asked, raising an eyebrow, putting the paper down on the table. “Where would you like to go?”
She thought for a second.
“I don’t know. I guess we could go anywhere.”
He smiled, then leaned over to kiss her.
“Anywhere sounds like a plan.”
 ***
 “Elijah, could you…” Mackenzie asked, as she stepped out of their bathroom, gesturing at the back of her dress.
He nodded. His tie was undone around his neck. His black jacket was laying on the bed carefully. One of his sleeves was open and he was working on closing it when Mackenzie asked him to zip her up. She walked towards the mirror and pushed her hair on the side so she could put her earrings on.
Elijah slowly fastened her dress as he started kissing her skin. She felt his lips move up from her shoulder blade to her neck. She moaned when his hands slid from her back to her waist and she put hers above his as he pulled her towards him.
“You look beautiful.”
“Thank you,” she smiled. “You bought me that dress.”
“I remember,” he whispered, kissing her neck. “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Do what?”
“Dinner.”
“Dinner or… becoming a part of your family?”
“Dinner is becoming a part of my family.”
She sighed. She turned around and started tying his tie.
“You’re my family, Elijah, if you’ll have me. Tonight, it’s just about hoping Klaus will finally stop threatening me.”
“I’m afraid nothing ever stopped Niklaus from threatening family.”
“Hey,” she said softly, placing her hands on both side of his face, “this is just a nice family dinner. I haven’t had one since my mom…” she paused. “I haven’t had one in a while. It’s going to be okay.”
Elijah was uncertain. Klaus had a habit of ruining everything good in his life, including his own.
“It’s just dinner, ‘lijah. What could go wrong?”
 ***
 As the dining room filled with laughter due to the jokes and anecdotes his siblings carefully chose to tell Mackenzie, Elijah started to relax and enjoy himself at this family dinner. Klaus even joined in on the fun, for once, instead of ruining it all.
“You should’ve seen his face…” Kol laughed.
“… when he realized his wife was a vampire,” Rebekah finished.
“So, that’s how you made money through the years? Just compelled some rich aristocrats into eating their family, leaving all of their fortune to you?”
“Well, that was one way to do it,” Klaus winked as he raised his glass of wine, or was it blood? Perhaps it was both, Mackenzie could never tell. “That’s also how we met our first elementals, isn’t it?”
“Oh yeah,” Rebekah grimaced at the memory. “Phoenixes. Hard to catch but delicious to eat.”
Elijah coughed as a way to reprimand his sister.
“Oh, sorry,” she chuckled nervously.
“No, it’s fine,” Mackenzie shrugged. “Vampires are half the reason why my species is instinct, why would I be mad at that?” she snickered.
Klaus laughed and stopped the sudden silence from turning uncomfortable.
“Touchy subject.”
“Speaking of touchy subjects,” Elijah changed the topic, “how did Ms. Gilbert kill you, Kol? Mackenzie destroyed the last of the white oak stakes.”
“That’s right, you two have missed a lot,” Klaus said, bringing his glass of wine to his lips.
“They kept looking for another way to kill us,” Rebekah explained. “Eventually, the little thieves got their hands on some of the ashes Nik keeps around to dagger us,” she said, giving her brother the side-eye, which he brushed away with a silent laugh.
“Bonnie Bennett used some of her expression magic to turn it back into actual wood, and they made a stake out of it,” Kol finished.
“Oh yeah, transformation magic,” Mackenzie said. “I’ve heard about it, it’s really difficult.”
“But not to worry,” Klaus continued. “The stake went up in flames along with Kol. Therefore, we are safe, aren’t we brother?” he said to Elijah, who frowned, as it sounded like an accusation.
“Well, unless there’s a chair out there made out of the white oak tree we don’t know anything about, I suppose we are,” he smiled politely.
Klaus stared at him in silence, as if he expected more.
“Of course, that would be our number one priority if, in fact, the white oak tree was the only weapon that could be used against us to kill us,” he said, suddenly grave, staring his big brother in the eyes.
“Which it is.”
“I see, I see,” Klaus tried to suppress his anger. “So, are we not going to talk about the elephant in the room, brother?”
“What are you on about?” Rebekah complained. “Can’t we just have one night without you implying the whole world is after your demise?”
“I thought this was supposed to be a nice family dinner,” Kol reminded them.
“You speak of family, brother, you who can’t wait to leave us all behind!”
“Here we go,” Kol rolled his eyes.
Mackenzie looked up at Elijah, worried this was taking a dark turn and hoping he could try and calm the hybrid.
“Niklaus…”
“How stupid do you think I am, Elijah?”
“I don’t know wh-…”
“I know what she is!” he shouted, bolting out of his chair which fell back to the ground in a deafening sound. The movement startled the elemental. She looked Klaus right back in his eyes full of accusations. Elijah got up as well, if only to be ready to stop his brother from hurting Mackenzie.
“So, this was never about family, was it, Niklaus? You never intended on making her one of us. You were worried about her powers.”
“And rightfully so.”
“Nik, leave the poor girl alone, she’s done nothing but help us.”
“She’s done nothing but help Elijah,” he corrected his sister. “After all, isn’t that how you two became friends?”
“Klaus, I…” Mackenzie started to say, but he interrupted her.
“Elijah came to you with one request. One goal. To kill me.”
“That plan failed, last time I checked,” Rebekah mumbled.
“So, this is what you were doing?” Kol asked, remembering his brother’s absence in the past few days, “you were investigating her?”
“I had to,” he shrugged. “They were keeping secrets. And you’re not going to believe what I found.”
“I can’t wait to hear it…” Rebekah sighed before she finished her glass of wine, sick and tired of her brother’s drama.
“It turns out, our friend Mackenzie here is not just an elemental.”
“Niklaus,” Elijah warned, but nothing could stop the hybrid.
“She’s an ultimate.”
Rebekah grimaced while Kol jumped on his feet.
“What the bloody hell is that?”
“You are?” he asked, suddenly interested in Klaus’ point.
“An ultimate, sister, is the most powerful creature on earth. So powerful, in fact, that she can, indeed, kill us all.”
Mackenzie wished she could disappear, mentally cursing herself for not being able to teleport. She looked at Kol, then at Rebekah, who both stared at her, not as a sister, or a friend, but as a threat. Tears started clouding her vision.
“You don’t know that,” she replied. “Nobody knows that. It’s just a theory.”
“Well, even if that were true,” Rebekah said, “why would she kill any of us?”
“Why wouldn’t she?” he answered, as if it were the most logical thing in the world, “she just said herself we’re the reason her species is gone.”
“Niklaus, that is enough!”
“Yes, brother, enough!” he shouted back at Elijah. “Enough of this. Enough of pretending we’re a family, of pretending we care. Kol is leaving us. And you,” he pointed a finger at his big brother, “should I keep pretending you didn’t go to Europe to teach her,” he spat at Mackenzie with a disgusted tone, “to teach her magic. To make her stronger, to kill me?!”
“Nik, this is insane,” Rebekah said as she, too, stood up. “Not everyone is out to kill you, Elijah just loves the girl, can you, for once, be happy for him?”
“Love?” Klaus scoffed. “But does he really love her?” he wondered aloud, aiming his words at Mackenzie. “Or does he just see her as a weapon to finally get rid of me? And this,” he gestured at the table, “this is just part of your plan, to have her be a part of this family, to have me trust her, just so you can better stab me in the back!”
“Niklaus, this is beyond reason,” Elijah breathed out, speechless. “Your madness has blinded you completely.”
“You know, Klaus,” Mackenzie finally spoke up in a quiet voice, “if you didn’t want me here, you just had to say so.”
She slowly got up, putting her napkin down on the table.
“Take it from someone who has no family; you should treat your siblings better.”
She turned around, and Elijah tried to stop her from leaving, but she gently pushed his hand away, mouthing ‘it’s okay’.
“Don’t pretend that you care,” Klaus said. “You’re only here for Elijah.”
She scoffed, then turned around to face him.
“Yes, Klaus, I’m only here for Elijah. And for Rebekah, and for Kol, and even for you! Because Elijah cares about his family. That’s what we do for the people we care about; we protect the ones they love. And I don’t have any family left to protect,” she said, wiping the tears off her cheeks, “you’re so afraid to be alone, you’re chasing everyone who loves you away. And one day they’ll get sick of you, of this, and they’ll leave you. And that day, I am telling you now, that day, you better know that you did it to yourself.”
Klaus launched himself at her, but neither he nor Elijah had the time to do anything as she held out her arm and pushed him away with magic. She didn’t even budge. She had Alex to thank for her reflexes. Klaus’ back met with the wall violently, almost making a hole inside it.
“Maybe I can kill you, maybe I can’t,” she told him. “But do you really want to find out?”
He growled as her magic kept him pinned to the wall. While Rebekah was on edge, Kol seemed rather impressed. Elijah, however, couldn’t help but worry. Klaus would retaliate eventually. She would never be safe as long as she was near his brother. He didn’t think this night would end with a choice. And in ten centuries, he never thought he’d ever choose to side against his brother. But Klaus had left him no choice. And Mackenzie was right. He had done it to himself.
“We are done here, Niklaus,” he said solemnly. “Enjoy the life this town can give you, however long that will last. But if you cannot be happy for me, I cannot be happy for you.”
Elijah nodded at Mackenzie, who released the hybrid from her grip. Klaus landed back on the floor, his mind divided in two. Should he kill her now or let them go? He watched his siblings, each of them ready to jump between the elemental and him, to protect her. And his worst fears came true. He was really truly alone.
“Remove yourselves from my house,” he snarled before he sped away, leaving his family behind.
“Well, I think that went well,” Kol joked, laughing at the reprimanding look his sister was giving him.
“You’re welcome to stay at my place,” she invited them.
“Thank you, sister, but I’m done too. I’ll phone when I get there.”
“Get where?” Rebekah asked and he started thinking.
“I don’t know yet.”
He nodded at his siblings, then winked at Mackenzie, before he vanished.
“I’m sorry,” Mackenzie apologized.
“Sorry for what?”
“This wasn’t your fault,” Elijah reassured her. “This is just…”
“Nik,” Rebekah shrugged. “This is just Nik.”
 ***
 Rebekah helped them pack, which didn’t take long as most of their things were still packed into boxes and chests. The house she had been living in for the past couple of months welcomed Elijah without invitation, telling the couple Rebekah had probably killed her way into it.
Klaus came back to his empty house, half-drunk, after spending the last few hours drinking at the Grill. Blood was dripping off his chin and staining his shirt. He took a look at Kol and Elijah’s rooms, both empty, with no trace of them left. He went back to the living room and walked straight towards the bottles of whisky and bourbon, where he found a letter with his name on it. He first thought it came from one of his siblings, and he took it, thinking about burning it. But when he turned it around to inspect it, he saw the red seal didn’t belong to any of his siblings, and his mood worsened, if that were even possible.
He ripped it open, breaking the ‘K’ of the seal in half.
Klaus,
I hear from Mackenzie you’ve refused me my promised freedom.
Shame on you.
But while you sort out your problems, I have one last thing to offer you.
I’ve caught wind that there is a witch in New-Orleans named Jane-Anne Deveraux plotting a move against you.
Hunt her down.
What she has to say will rattle you so deeply to your core that chasing little old me will be the least of your concerns.
It’s been a fun five centuries, Klaus, but I’ve worn down too many good heels running from you.
Love, and hate,
Katerina

Leverage
Elijah Mikaelson x Arabella Castaway-Mikaelson
Authors note: Okay everyone after much planning and thinking I have come up with my own OC! I can’t wait for us to take this journey together learning about Arabella, like who she is, and how she came to be. Do not be afraid to send in asks about her either!
Word count: 2.4K
Somewhat based off of season 3 of the originals. I also joined the calibration for Dom’s 2 years bioversary. This fic is about sire bonds more importantly them being broken.
@xxwritemeastoryxx
———————————
Being involved in The Original family comes with its up and downs. Especially when it has caused the love of your life to pick his family over well his wife. That was about well two months ago, sense then I have not seen Elijah Mikaelson or his family. It is nothing I can blame them for though, the sad thing is I do not even remember who they are! In fact, it is the vampires I come across on during my travels that bring up The Original family. Usually it goes around the lines someone asking me where they are. From my gathering of these conversations I was married to the one they call honorable, the noble brother, Elijah. It never has set well with me though that my so called “husband” has abandoned me. If we are married is not that meant to be forever, that’s the whole point of getting married is not. Asking to many questions is what got me in this predicament, see what I do remember is my whole life. I remember the life I had New Orleans, the fashion the cooking all of it. So, if I was married to someone back then why is there no piecing pieces?  I barley know anything about this so-called original family, yet their presentence lingers over my body like a shadow. Too afraid to come and say hello, but it’s like every step I take it’s as though I’m being watched.
“Well if it isn’t the myth, the legend Arabella…. how did you find her? Elijah never mentioned why she left or where she went to in the first place” A male’s voice, it was deep with the hint of smoothness. I have no clue what happened, I just remember being at a local cafe in France then my neck was snapped. It went black for a while after that.
“Well we have our ways of getting what we need. When it comes to the leverage we need, this will be perfect. He’ll do anything it takes to keep his precious wife safe… And that well be the way we lure both him and his brother here, so my witches can perform this spell.” it’s a women’s voice, even though I don’t understand what she talking about I don’t want anything to do with it. “I’ll be back later with the items that Davina needs to finish the spell. Be prepared Marcellus, the strixs are all prepared for this battle tonight.” I can hear her shoes click as she walks away from us.
“Davina! Help me take these ropes off her. I can’t touch them, there soaked in vervain. She doesn’t deserve to be in the middle of this. Aya’s only using her to lure Elijah and Klaus here” the man’s voice I can hear must be Marcellus, whoever he is.
“She won’t die today Marcel… she needs to be here to lure Elijah and Klaus here. When they get here, it’ll be easy one of the other witches knock them out.” Davina say as she unties the ropes that are wrapped around my arms and legs. ” she’s safe here Marcel you can leave. When the spell starts you might feel a little warmth, it’ll pass though once the link it gone.” the girl says, and as she says it the blind fold over my eyes gets taken off and so does the duct tape.
“What if this warmth is the last thing I feel”
“I’ll be careful”
“I get that Davina and I’m game. But we are on a tight rope with the Mikaelson’s right now. Jackson was a friend to them and us. On top of that we have Arabella too”
“I know Marcel. And I know it’s a long shot, but if I can’t save you, and I can’t save Josh, even Arabella, then I can’t save Kol. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if something happened to you guys.” Davina says as she takes of the last of the ropes from my body.
When I open my eyes the man’s gone and the only thing in front of me is a girl looking at me. “You can’t leave, I put up a boundary spell around you… It’s for your protection Bella” The sweet looking girl says to me as she watches me over
“How do you know me?” I asked
“It’s a long story, just know that you’re my friend… I’m Davina, and that guy that was here a couple seconds ago his name is Marcel.” Davina says turning back to the papers that are hanging on the wall.
“Well it seems like everyone here already knows who I am, so tell me Davina. What is that spell for?”
———-Switch to Elijah———
“And now Aya and her mob of are free to break the sire line. You know, we have made many glorious enemies over the years, brother, but If they sever the link to us, then they well all come for our heads.” Klaus speaks as both of us walk side by side toward the entrance of the compound. This is the very reason why I sent her away, I knew this prophecy was going to be a blood bath. I didn’t need for her to get in the way.
“Not without the white oak brother” I say in a soothing voice as Niklaus stops Infront of me
“Aurora has the last of it” I can the thought swirling in his head, with a smirk forming on my lips I simply say
“Then she dies first”
“You once told me you wanted to use her head as a footstool” titling his head to the side he finished with “why wait”
That’s when my phone vibrates in my coat pocket. I pull it out answering
“Marcel?”
“how”
“Yes, I see” *hangs up the phone*
My face drops looking at Klaus “I don’t know how, but Aya found Arabella. The crescent wolves were able to locate where they are keeping her” I say looking right at Klaus
“Well then let’s get going”
—— back to Arabella—-
“Where is she Aya? Unlike my brother I don’t have the patience to deal with this” the voice is raspy thick sounding as I hear multiple footsteps approaching us.
“Hello gentlemen, it’s my pleasure you have decided to join us tonight” Aya says, so that is Aya!
“Let me out of here!!” I yelled getting fed up with being confined into this circle. I bang my fists on the barrier and both the men’s eyes land right on to me.
“How did you-” The man in the suit says his bouncing from mine to Ayas
“It doesn’t matter now that you both are here” Aya says as she stands tall. There two girls that approach them changing some foreign language I don’t recognize. Both men then collapse onto the floor.
“I told you Davina Claire, Arabella Castaway was the key to getting them to come here.” Aya says glancing at me before some body guards drag the two men’s bodies into the water.
“Ive played my part let me out of here!!” I yelled
“You well soon sweet girl, just a few more hours left. Your role to play is still not over yet.” Aya states as she approach’s Davina
“Were ready to start” Davina stats looking over at Aya
“Then let’s begin”
That’s when all the chanting starts, There’s apart of me deep down that knows this is wrong. This hole I have felt the past 3 months is aching in a way I’ve never felt it do before.  This must be him, the more I think about the faster I put the pieces together. Those are the originals, the one in the suit. He is my husband and even if he did abdomen me years ago I won’t abdomen him now.
I scream banging my fists on the barrier again as the chanting continue. Marcel comes into the room suddenly going up to Aya.
“Any problems?” Marcel asks looking into the pool with the two men, at me, then his eyes land on Davina.
“No, we are nearly there. After today one man’s recklessness will no longer weigh on the shoulders of his sires. Thousands of vampires across the world will be free from the tranny of the originals. I’m glad you’re here Marcel. Stay close by when it happens will you?” Aya says walking up to the pool looking over.
“Why are you guys doing this, I don’t belong here” I scream throwing a fit.
I watch in horror as both the men’s throats are cut then thrown back into the water, the chanting gets louder. And the more chanting I hear is when the barrier drops, I rush the closets witch breaking her back. Another women appears besides marcel killing what looked like to be a body guard
“Marcel!”
“I’m Sorry D. We need to get them out of the water now” Marcel states looking at both us girls. But before anything can happen Davina yells “No” and throws all three of us to the end of the room.  I hear the screams as the man in the suit sits up taking one of the witches’ under water with him. I stand up making eye contact with him as he leaps out of the water.
“I’m so sorry baby… forgive me, Rememoraeri” He says looking into my eyes, and it’s as if the two worlds collided. All my memories come crashing down onto me. But it’s one inparticular that strikes me the hardest. It’s the night I was turned into a vampire
The street was cold underneath my numb body. This wasn’t supposed to happen to me, not like this. I was supposed to live a life, not dying on the side of the road. The loneness of staring up into the sky not being able to move or cry out for help seemed to be the only thing I could look at. I was utterly hopeless as blood pooled up around me. Soon I began choking on the blood stuck in my throat. I wasn’t in any pain no more, it felt more like I was high up in the sky flying.
“No!” I heard him yell he rushed over to my side picking me up biting into his wrist “Drink Bella… please… no-no-no. Not like this… You can’t die like this” I took my last breath Elijah Mikaeslons arms. The last thing I seen was his beautiful brown eyes and the stars glowing behind him. That was in tell I woke up
“Elijah?” I blinked away the memory as I took in his appearance Infront of me. “Whats going on, oh my god-” There where millions of thoughts running through my head
“I well explain later” Elijah says giving me a small smile tucking a random piece of hair behind my ear, that was before we turn, we turned our attention to Davina as she started to break Klaus sire line link
“Davina No!” Marcel shouts, Klaus opens his eyes leaping out Infront of Davina but she catches him with her powers yelling
“No, you’ve had your time!” She shouts throwing him back down into the water, in the process of her doing his she throws all of us down to. We can hear he finishing her spell as Klaus yells. I scream as a warming sensation comes over my body and before I know it, it stops. Elijahs is the first to get up and come to the rescue of Klaus.
I sit up getting into the water with Elijah as well, I move Niks hair out of his face
He is weak but he would never ambit it. “I felt them leave, my sire line is broken” Nik states his voice shaky.
Elijah and I help Klaus out of the pool “I’ll be in the car soon… I have some unfinished business to attended too.” Elijah says leaving me and Nik in the car.
“You do understand they both have history” Klaus says as he glances at me
“I do, and I tend to end that history right now.” I say excusing myself from the car as I make my way into the building using the back door so I can eavesdrop on the conversation he was having with Aya.
“So, we remain connected, you and I, in spite of everything that you have done” Elijah says as he twirls a gun around his finger. “I can’t let you hurt my family, my wife. And you can’t hurt me more than you already have” Elijah says looking into Ayas eyes. I can feel and see the hurt and guilt he is holding over himself for hurting Aya. It makes me feel somewhat jealous, but I can’t blame him. He’s lived a thousand plus years; he should have had a few epic loves.
“I stood by you Elijah. All of us where willing to die for you, and how do you repay us? Betrayal, abandonment.” Aya spits out turning to face his face. She loves him it’s easy to tell, love can be killer.
“You were not forsaken. Yes, I failed you, for this… I will never forgive myself… But I can’t forgive this. You captured my wife!” Elijah yells as he motioned to all the body in the room
“If your life was chained to a man, who left you despite of your devotion, what choice do I have other than to break free” Aya says this conversation hurts to hear. “ So… End this” Aya says moving as he holds the gun up to her heart. His hand is shaky “End it Elijah!! Or I’ll take that gun and kill you just to be free of you!” She yells tears rolling down her cheek into she grunts, her voice stops her body leans to the side. I stand besides her holding her heart in my hand.
“So, Elijah tell me why did you decided to erase my memory from ever knowing you?” I ask holding the heart as I look my husband right in the eyes

Heretic
Pairing: Kol Mikaeslon x Reader
Summary: The reader is a heretic who meets Kol Mikaelson. From this request.
Word Count: 648
Warning(s): Violence

Throughout your entire life, you’d been shunned. The coven you belonged to turned their back on you because you were a siphoner. To them, you were an abomination. Then you were turned into a heretic, and even vampires were wary of you. It wasn’t uncommon for one of the two to try and kill you once they figured out what you were. This made you hesitant to stay anywhere for too long.
You’d already been in New Orleans too long. But something was keeping you there. There had always been a strang pull to the place, and once you arrived, you didn’t want to leave. It was overflowing with magic. That also meant there was an abundance of witches, so you should have realized they’d find out what you were.
Walking the street at night wasn’t the smartest decision you ever made. One minute you were making your way through the Quarter, then you were on the ground clutching your head. Witches surrounded you, chanting a spell. You pushed yourself up onto your knees with a groan. You were able to get to your feet and snapped the neck of the witch closest to you, but the others only strengthened the spell. The pain in your head was overwhelming. It wouldn’t be long before you lost consciousness.
The sound of yelling and bones snapping filled the air. The pain disappeared, and you looked up to see a man ripping out the last witch’s heart. He dropped the organ and made his way over to you.
“What did you do, darling?”
You were still disoriented from the spell; when he reached out to help you up, you accidentally siphoned from him. Ripping your arm out of his grip, you took a step back. His eyes widened.
“I thought that was an abnormal number of witches for a normal vampire.” He smirked, walking towards you.
When you siphoned from him, you realized he was old and strong. There was no way you’d be able to get away from him.
“Are you going to finish their job?”
“Why would I do that?”
“Vampires don’t like me any more than witches do.”
“You’ve been around the wrong vampires, darling.” He held out his hand. “Come with me.”
“Why would I do that?”
“They’re going to send more witches after you, and the Quarter is full of vampires.”
You didn’t know what it was. There was something that made you trust him—that he wouldn’t hurt you. He didn’t look at you with disgust and hatred. His eyes watched you with a fascination that you’d never seen before. A moment passed before you took his hand.
“Kol Mikaelson.”
“Y/n.”
Tumblr media
You finished the spell you were working on with a smile. Since Kol had found you, your skill with magic had been growing. Over the years, you’d learned to rely more on your vampire abilities rather than magic. Your coven hadn’t allowed you to do magic before you were turned, and after there’d been no one to teach you. Simple spells were something you could do, but you weren’t able to do the more complex ones. But with Kol helping you, your magic was growing stronger. As soon as you told him about your problem, he was eager to help you.
“You’re getting better, darling.”
You smiled as Kol pressed a kiss to your temple. You turned, so you were facing him, and he wrapped his arms around your waist.
“Well, I’ve had a good teacher.”
A year had passed since you met Kol. You fell in love with him, and for the first time in your life, you had somewhere where you belonged. He rested his forehead against yours with a small smile on his face.
“I’m glad you decided to trust me back when we first met,” he said and pressed a kiss to your lips. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”

Set It Up – A kinda but not really Klaroline Fusion (like all my different fusions)
Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaeslon are working as assistants to the most demanding, rival NBA bosses in New York. From Macy’s to Madison Square Garden to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas can they stop bickering long enough to come together to make their lives easier?
All I do is Win
151 W 34th Street, New York, NY
"Before you say anything,” he offered, holding his hand up to silence her. “He actually tried to fire a mailman today.”
He being Mason Lockwood, the Brooklyn Nets owner. He was also notorious for being an arrogant, demanding bastard and then some.
“And?”
“Mailmen work for the U.S. government!"
“Oh boo hoo, I don’t care, Mikaelson,” she replied gruffly, equally not caring but also knowing it was true and his boss was an ass.
“Says the girl whose boss could give Cruella De Ville a run for her money.” He wasn’t wrong. New York Knicks boss Katherine Pierce was fierce, feisty and a real bitch at the best and worst of times.
“Exactly why I’m here to claim my blender that you have your grubby paws all over. I called earlier and put it on hold,” Caroline demanded, exhausted from the trek to Macy’s Department Store noticing he was already clutching it possessively.
She took a few seconds to admire that his thieving ass was sort of attractive in that fitted, grey suit even if he didn’t know his proper place.
Five days ago she didn’t even know him but Klaus Mikaelson had made both an immediate and lasting impression on her, and it wasn’t a good one. She had always welcomed competition but his good looks were kind of messing with her resolve.
Bastard.
She had no intention of letting him win.
Ever.
“But your name isn’t on it,” he shot back, refusing to relinquish her property.
“Now, that’s extremely mature,” she scowled. “If I don’t get this exact gift for the Warner wedding my boss is going to kill me.”
Yes, to some it was just your run-of-the-mill gadget that mixed ingredients together. But this wasn’t just any blender. This was the newest, state of the art Vitamix Blender that retailed at a jaw dropping $1198.
It also happened to be the last one left in Manhattan, Caroline knew given just how many stores she’d called in vain. She just hoped the Warners were grateful, if she managed to steal it from his greedy clutches of course.
“My boss will too given it’s a gift for his only sister’s birthday,” he shot back. “If you think I’m going to give up this blender without a fight you’re sorely mistaken.”
Okay, maybe she had forgotten in her haste to put it on hold, oops, but Klaus didn’t have to know that.
“Only because you got caught out breaking the rules because I already put this on hold,” she bluffed, refusing to let him win.
“Okay fine, what do you want?”
“I thought I made myself pretty clear, Mikaelson,” she growled, gesturing towards the blender.
“What else do you want besides this blender?”
They both held each other’s gaze for a full thirty seconds before each finally responded their resolve unflinching.
“Disney on Ice tickets. I hear that the Under the Sea Christmas Spectacular is a huge hit in your borough.”  Brooklyn was most definitely a bad word she could never utter.
“Seriously? That’s really what you want?”
“Deathly,” she hit back, rolling her eyes as she did it. “Surely you would have some contacts, you know if you’re actually a good assistant.”
“Because I’m sure Katherine Pierce would love to watch a singing crab and one memory-less fish,” he scoffed.
“She may be the Ice Queen but she also has thirteen impossible and incessant nieces and nephews. And last time I checked all fish were memory-less.”
“Well, then you’ve never met my Marvin.” Caroline was trying to ignore just how adorable he looked defending his goldfish one dimple at a time.  “Even so those tickets will cost me more than this blender.”
“Okay, so how about I sweeten the deal with some boxing tickets?”
“Not sure the local boxing round robin is his speed, love, so that’s a definite no.”
“Well, I suppose it’s your loss,” she drawled. “Hand over my blender then, Mikaelson.”
“You’re going to have to make me,” he replied jokingly.
“Real mature,” Caroline reiterated, surprising him and plucking it from his grasp. She couldn’t miss the way his hand felt brushing against hers as she did. “I hope I never have to see your smug ass again.” She stalked away, hips swaying in her wake.
“Until I have to explain the missing blender,” he called out in frustration by way of response.
“Because I’m sure a missing blender is going to be your biggest problem given you turned down Pacquiao vs Broner ringside seats in Vegas.”
She made a mental note in her head. Caroline Forbes 1 - Klaus Mikaelson 0. Suddenly her hellish life as an assistant wasn't so bad if he was suffering too.
4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY
Klaus Mikaelson was the type to hold grudges. It started when he was six years-old and his younger brother Kol stole his favourite toy and it had only grown stronger and more spiteful in the years afterward.
Caroline Forbes was going to pay. Mainly because his boss hadn’t let him forget how pathetic he was to lose the blender he wanted to ‘a girl’ as he emphasised in air quotes. Klaus was far from chauvinistic and his boss was obviously still living in the dark ages.
Caroline wasn’t just ‘a girl’ she was a pain in his ass and Klaus planned to bring her down and it didn’t hurt that it was her home game either.
Rivals the Knicks and Nets were squaring off at Madison Square Garden and he’d been plotting his revenge ever since their last meeting. Sure, she was kind of gorgeous with those blonde waves and crystal, blue eyes but she was also his devious competition. And she was unrelenting. He had to beat her at her own game and he’d found the perfect way to do it.
“Glutton for punishment hey?”
“Excuse me?” He shot back from their neighbouring, courtside seats. The pre-game arrangements were well underway. “Last time I checked the Nets and their staff have every right to be here, even if it is on enemy territory.”
“Unfortunately, yes,” she growled. “But it’s nice to know you are going down tonight.”
“Have you seen the ladder, Forbes?”
“You are one game ahead, after tonight that won’t be the case,” she scoffed. Klaus took a moment to peruse her outfit before arguing back. Even in her hideous blue and orange jersey she couldn’t help but look stunning. He decided to put it down to the fact her floral perfume was infiltrating his nostrils and messing with his composure.
“Wanna make a bet?”
“I’m pretty good at those but if you’re game.”
“Oh I’m game,” he smirked. “The Nets win you get me those ringside seats in Vegas. And by seats, I’m going to need eight.”
“Wow, someone is wishful thinking, but yeah sure, not that you’re going to win,” she scoffed. “I cannot wait to witness the annihilation, Mikaelson.”
Klaus didn’t even respond, just sent her a teasing glance and made his way to the changerooms to finalise everything. He had a good feeling that his team were going to take the win and Klaus would be on the way to Vegas for the big fight at the MGM Grand. His boss would forget that bloody blender ever existed.
“In your face, Forbes,” Klaus celebrated hours later as the Nets crowd at Madison Square Garden continued to chant well after the final buzzer. She was shocked to say the least, still cute in defeat but he’d never admit it aloud.
“This is all your fault,” she snarled. “You cheated.”
“Last time I checked I wasn’t on the court.”
“Yeah probably a good thing, you’d never actually keep up, lazy bones,” she snorted. “How about that whole surprise pre-game show where number one Nets fans Beyonce and Jay-Z just decided to belt out the Star Spangled Banner from their seats?”
“I had nothing to do with that,” he lied.
“You are the worst liar,” she huffed. “You know just how well it would be received and in turn boost team morale.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he bluffed. “The best team on the day won.”
“You are unbelievable,” she scowled. “Must really be desperate given just how much your job depends on it.”
“Is that what you say to make your situation better?” He shot back. “Didn’t think you’d stoop that low, oh hang on that whole blender situation was exactly that.”
“I guess I’m desperate,” she murmured, Klaus couldn’t miss the way her expression seemed so defeated all of a sudden. “My college loans are looming and I may have been a little dishonest under pressure because my boss wants to fire me all the time.”
“Story of my life too believe it or not,” he offered. “If only they could get on with their lives and not focus on every little thing that we do.”
“Hang on,” she murmured. “That might not be the worst idea you ever had, Mikaelson. How about we set them up together?”
“Mason and Katherine? That’s just a recipe for disaster. That much combined combustible energy cannot be safe.”
“Exactly why we have to do it,” she murmured, raising her eyebrows.
“So, I suppose I’ll see you in Vegas then?”
“If you’re lucky,” she chuckled, but given her tone Klaus knew she’d be there no matter what.
MGM Grand, 3799 S Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, NV
“Okay, I sent the fruit basket to her room.”
“Aren’t you a romantic,” she drawled teasingly, barely looking up from her magazine on the bed as he entered. Klaus Mikaelson was the last person she expected to organise that. As much as she was attracted to him, Caroline was seeing no similar interests besides setting up their bosses.
“Please don’t ever call me that. But, last time I checked you’d done absolutely nothing,” Klaus shot back. “And I won the last bet and everything. Time to show you care, Forbes.”
“Like sending an identical one hour massage voucher to both his and her rooms for the same time in the hotel spa?”
“I suppose that’s okay,” he mumbled.
“Why do I get the impression that you don’t like ideas coming from anyone but yourself?”
“Well...”
“It must be all that ego,” she groaned.
“You really do hate me,” he asked incredulously, it was unusual for any female to think badly of him let alone abuse him incessantly.
“For the most part.”
“Wow, aren’t you sweet,” he drawled. “So what are we supposed to do to pass the time?”
“Get your mind out of the gutter,” Caroline shot back. “How about something more intellectual?”
“Wow. Finally something we have in common,” he smirked triumphantly, as she produced a chess board.
“I happened to be chess champion five years running in High School.”
“Well, don’t want all those potential but ignorant suitors knowing that fact,” he chuckled, sending a stray dimple her way. Caroline tried to pretend that it didn’t affect her but everything inside was telling her that it did.
And she was scared of the foreign feelings it had caused.
But in true Caroline fashion she decided to push it aside so she could beat him at chess then deal with the consequences that were threatening to derail her feelings later. She didn’t get that chance though. In fact she was in a more vulnerable position than expected.
“Check Mate,” he murmured, sweeping his queen across the board to take her king.
She was stunned at first mainly because she never lost. Ever. But he seemed to know her and rather than unsettling her it was weirdly okay.
Bastard.
“We have a boxing match to get to,” she responded mechanically. His hand grabbed hers immediately, the warmth spreading through her body. “Need to keep an eye on our bosses after all.”
“Or we could do something else?” He offered, squeezing her hand affectionately. “My siblings are in town tonight but I’m going to warn you they are...”
“Nick’s Fans?” She asked. “I’ve certainly experienced them and worse.”
“You have no idea, in fact I think they’d be perfect company for Katherine and Mason.”
“Why do I get the feeling you don’t care if you lose your job right now?”
“Well, if you knew my brother Kol and his big mouth,” he teased. “But if you’d rather...”
“No, I’m starting to really like your brother Kol.”
“Well. then you’re really going to like my sister Rebekah,” he chuckled. “How about we explore Vegas some more? See what fun we can get up to?”
“I suppose it can’t hurt, right?” Caroline replied.
Famous last words.

They're Back
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vampire female reader x Mikael (+ the siblings)
Summary: au where Mikael is a good dad and married the reader who has been like a mother to his kids for a thousand years.
He's never beaten, treated them horribly, or try to kill them. And Esther is the one who forced vampirism and killed all of them.
A/n: I'm experimenting with an idea I had in the middle of the night. Please leave feedback and if you would maybe want a second part.
We're also gonna pretend that rhe picture isn't Balthazar
Warnings: swearing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You listen in to the conversation taking place inside the mansion and look over to your husband.
"They've been on this earth together how long and they still don't know how to get along" Mikael chuckles as you smack his arm lightly.
You both look back to where Kol is being held back by Finn from trying to pounce on Klaus you're presuming by the way he looks like he wants to charge right at his older brother.
"We should get inside before things go down" you sigh, knowing the kids' antics.
"Definitely" Mikael quickly says as he sees Kol about to get out of the oldest's arms.
You guys vamp inside the house through the unlocked door and just before Kol attacks Klaus, you grab him so he's constrained in your arms. His back pulled against your chest.
"Okay, just breathe. There are many other ways to deal with problems that don't involve attacking your brother" you tell Kol as you slowly start to slacken your grip on the younger one (biologically/physically younger).
The five vampires look at both of you, shocked at your guys' appearance.
"Mother, Father!" Rebekah's the first to break out of the trance and runs over, hugging you guys.
"Rebekah, my lovely daughter" you hear Mikael whisper in her blond hair. You smile at how soft he turns when he's with his children.
"How did you guys find us?" Klaus spoke up.
"Well, people talk when five originals are in a small town, causing havoc" You sit down on the armrest of one of the couches in the room.
You give a pointed look over to Kol, who's advancing towards Klaus. He grumbles about it not being fair, before plopping back into the couch beside you. He leans his head against your side.
"Have they also talked about how Esther is back from the dead?" Klaus more so retorts.
You and Mikael both turn your attention to the hybrid pouring himself a drink. "What are you talking about?" Mikael asks his voice hard at hearing his ex-wife's name.
"She has come back to wipe out the existence of vampires" Finn answers.
"That bitch!" You exclaim. Everyone snaps their gaze on you, not used to you ever swearing. Even Mikael is surprised by your reaction.
"What? You expect me to be calm and stoic all the time?" You raise an eyebrow. "So where is she exactly?" You ask them.
"We have no clue" Kol mumbles into your shoulder.
"Then we'll just have to find out" Mikael says after a couple moment of silence.
(Trivia)
Irina was born a witch, she was a very powerful witch, was turned into a original vampire by her mother Esther Mikaelson and shortly after she became a original vampire she ran away from her own family and disappeared for 1000 years and till she returned back to Mystic Falls.
Irina and Henrik were extremely close, they were inseparable and did everything together as children. When Henrik died, something changed within Irina, she became lost and unsure of herself and life itself. She withdrawn from her siblings, her friends and anyone else who cared for her, the one person she would speak to was Stefan Salvatore and that was it. Season one of The Vampire Diaries, Irina had finally returned to Mystic Falls after 1000 years. It is believed that Henrik and Irina weren’t to far apart in age, as children, Irina was a couple of years older then Henrik and they were literally best friends. After Henrik died, it broke Irina to 1000 pieces and she felt so lost within herself.
Irina is very protective of the innocent, she made a promise to Stefan Salvatore before he died that she would protect the innocent and Mystic Falls in his name. She kept that promise and was going to keep it, he even visited her from the other side as a spirit, although she couldn’t physically see him, he was there guiding her and sending signs.
She loves singing, dancing and listening to music, it one of her favourite things to do in her casual time. Half of the time she would be walking down the streets or through the woods with headphones on. Occasionally she sings and dances at places within Mystic Falls for fun not for profit, but to make people smile and happy.
She loves helping the sick or injured, animals or humans. One time she encountered a car accident on her run and noticed the woman in the car was badly harmed, she helped heal the woman enough so she wouldn’t lose blood and would make it to hospital in time. She has saved many animals and humans, a second time she saved three kids from a house fire. The mother and father of the kids got out in time but the kids got trapped, Irina managed to go into a burning house unharmed and saved the kids. Irina has control over her need to feed on human blood due to the fact she has never bitten a human in her vampire life or life, she has fed from animals or human blood bags. She is weaker then her siblings at times due to the fact animal blood doesn’t make vampires at their strongest but at their weakness. So when she see’s a human bleeding she can help them and won’t have a strong urge to feed on them like other vampires. She has control of herself and tends to remain strong, confident and independent, no matter the situations. If she was ever to feed off a human once, she may lose complete control due to the fact she has never bitten a human, or fed from one in her life, so it could make her crave human blood from the vein and become a ripper like Stefan or even as bad as Kol Mikaelson.
When Henrik Mikaelson and Irina were kids, they would always hang out at a big rock in Mystic Falls, Irina and Henrik had even carved their initials into the rock by using a knife. 1000 years later and the rock is still their and Henrik and Irina’s initials are still carved into the rock, Irina always visit the rock and sits or lays on it as she looks to the stars.
Irina is very stubborn, but is very caring and good hearted. She feels a strong empathy and connection of those around her, she always loves helping other’s in need. A couple of times she has taken some people’s pain away, she is such a confident and strong girl. Her parents made her a monster but the monster doesn’t take control of the good hearted girl within, she is full of empty and pure light, not darkness. Irina is very protective of those she cares about, she protected Elena a couple of times through The Vampire Diaries seasons. Her family, her friends she will protect them no matter what.
The night Damon Salvatore injured Vicki, she was their within the darkness and watched the whole thing. She was in her wolf form and did growl towards Damon in hopes to scare him away but it didn’t work. She then just ran off and stood from a distance, as anger built within her, before running through the crowd of people at the party. Of course half of the party people scream seeing a wolf, she didn’t care and she hoped it would make Damon stop hurting Vicki.
Irina has a brown leather diary, she has had it since she was young. It is a similar age to Irina and is old, but it is still in good condition and she writes in it everyday. It actually has so much written in her diary about the times her and Henrik use to spend time together and play as kids. She tends to keep all her memories in her diary or when times are rough she will write it down, when Stefan died she wrote a lot in her diary about her and Stefan and most of the things they both use to do together. She even wrote how the death of Stefan effected, and has written a lot of bad experiences in her diary also. Like the time she saw Vicki getting harmed in the woods by Damon, and how bad she actually felt that she couldn’t help, that made her feel hopeless. Irina’s diary is very special and she takes it with her everywhere, she will always find a peaceful place to write in her diary, such as her favourite rock in the woods where she use to spend most of her time with Henrik as kids.
A couple of times Irina has appeared in Legacies, one time she was in her wolf form and the other just in person enjoying time with her friend Josie.
Irina still remains in Mystic Falls and protects it with her life, she occasionally helps Hope and Alaric with any threats.
When Irina was young, she would take Henrik to their favorite place in the forest and she would make the fireflies all go into one place by using her telekinesis.
Irina doesn’t want any romantic relationship, as she prefers being single and free. She says that having a boyfriend would mean nothing to her and she would eventually get bored. She says that having close connections with people and having loyal friends is all she needs more then any romantic relationship. She doesn’t want to get dedicated to anyone, she fears losing those she cares about and feels insecure about being in any relationship with anyone. Single for life, no kids or romantic relationships for Irina, just a kind hearted girl and true loyalty to the innocent. All her siblings have had true love and romantic relationships while Irina has just saved so many innocent lives and thinks that is the best life to follow.
Irina can translate elder futhark runes and other ancient runes, she has helped many in TVD with translating runes and other ancient language.
Irina’s elder futhark is ᛁᚱᛁᚾᚨ.
prompt: klaus dies and Caroline finds out and asks Bonnie to help her bring her back and they also resurrect Kol in the process, cuteness and double dates ensue
“Klaus is dead,”
Bonnie looked up at what she was doing to see her best friend standing in the doorway fiddling with the hem of her cardigan sleeve, looking at her expectantly.
“Again?” Bonnie questioned.
Caroline gave a short nod and turned her head to look out of the window instead of at Bonnie.
“Bonnie I wouldn’t usually ask-”
“Well, it has been a good 20 years since you’ve come to me for a favour. I’ll give you that.”
“You’re right, I’ll find someone else to-”
“-No don’t be silly,” Bonnie interjected with a sigh. “Sit down we’ll figure it out,”
“What happened this time?” Bonnie asked, dropping a pile of herbs into the pot between her legs the
Caroline glanced over at her tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“I needed space. You know how it is. Things are amazing between us for a few years and then we start getting under each other's feet. I realized I hadn’t explored Fiji yet so I left to get some air,”
“Some air huh? Bonnie scoffed. “How’d Klaus take it?”
“Worse than usual,” Caroline said softly. “We didn’t leave things on good terms,”
Seeing Caroline’s forlorn expression Bonnie reached over and clasped her hand in her’s.
“I think I’m close. Don’t worry, when are any of Klaus’ deaths ever permanent, anyway?”
The half-joke brought a smile to Caroline’s face and she allowed shoulders to relax slightly.
“Did I forget to mention that part?” Caroline asked sheepishly, peeking at Bonnie from the corner of her eye as they stood over not one but two Mikaeslon desiccated siblings.
“You may have neglected to mention that I’d be resurrecting Kol at the same time as your weird part-time husband, yes.” Bonnie deadpanned.
“Well in all fairness we don’t actually know that yet,” Caroline pointed out. “When I found Klaus, I found him too, so they could be linked,”
“And the other siblings?”
“Rebekah and Elijah are fine. They’re chasing their own leads trying to fix this”
“Well let's hope I’m worth how much I’m charging you this time,” Bonnie quipped cracking her knuckles.
Caroline smiled and stood back.
“You realize I was joking right?” Bonnie asked Caroline, tentatively cutting into her steak. “Your friendship and eternal gratitude were enough for my services.”
“Nonsense Bonnie,” Klaus grinned in her direction and pushed the bottle of wine on the table forward.
“I couldn’t even begin to repay you for reuniting myself and Caroline and extracting myself and my brother from the cruel hands of death. This meal is the least we can do to thank you,”
“Besides, you’ve been avoiding me for nearly half a century now darling,” Kol purred, sliding his chair toward her’s. “Funny thing fate isn’t it?”
Bonnie glared across the table at Caroline who adamantly avoided her gaze.
She really needed new friends.
Y/N? Are you here?” You heard Kol’s voice yell. You whimpered and sat back. You looked at the blood on your hands and felt tears well in your eyes.
“I did this. This is my fault,” you whimpered.
 “Y/N, no. It’s okay. It’s not you. It’s not your fault,” Kol said. He was in front of you. You hadn’t noticed.
“It’s okay. It’s not your fault.”
New Orleans in 1910 was magical, to say the least. With the Mikaelsons running the city things were prosperous. There were parties every night and the daytime was worry-free. The supernatural community was mostly at peace in this small corner of the world. As a young witch, things had never been better for you. Your magic was stronger than ever and the nightlife of New Orleans gave you all the entertainment you wanted. It was at one of his family’s parties that you met Kol Mikaleson.
Music was radiating through the Mikaeson compound. The friend you came with immediately pulled you onto the dance floor. It’d been hours since you arrived and all of that time had been spent dancing. You could feel eyes on you as you danced. They had been since you arrived, but you’d ignored them. But when you went to the bar for a drink, you came face to face with the man who had been watching you all night.
“Good evening.”
“Yes, it is darling.” You smiled and he held out a hand, bringing yours up to his lips. “Kol Mikaelson.”
“Well Kol Mikaleson, are you going to ask me to dance or just watch me all night?”
That night was only the beginning of what would happen with you and Kol. Falling in love with him had felt natural. He spent most of the time with you in your small shop in the Quarter. He loved watching you do magic and since meeting him your power had only grown. The more time passed the stronger your feelings were. You never wanted to be with anyone else.
Then you lost him. Klaus put a dagger in his heart and assured you Kol wouldn’t wake until long after you were dead. It wasn’t hard to find a way around that with your magic.
The spell hadn’t been hard. It wouldn’t last you a thousand years, but it would buy you a century or two. Turns out, that’s all you needed.
Over the course of your life, you’d made contacts all over the world. So it didn’t take long for you to hear that all of the originals were residing in Mystic Falls. As soon as you got the news, you were on your way.
Luck had never been on your side, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise that you were too late. You were in Virginia when you got the call saying Kol had been killed. When he was daggered, you’d thought there could be no greater pain. Knowing he was just out of your reach. But you realized you were wrong. Knowing he would never come back to you was much worse.
When the Originals came to New Orleans, you didn’t announce your presence. Kol was the only reason you ere around them in the past. With him gone, there was no reason to bother yourself with their drama. Besides, they all believed you were dead. You assumed they taught you were dead.
The moment Klaus Mikaelson stepped into your shop he was on the ground, yelling in pain.
“How dare you come here.”
“I come in peace,” he groaned.
“You better have one hell of a peace offering.” You lifted the spell and watched him walked towards you. He placed a small urn on the counter along with a daylight ring- the one all the Mikaelsons wore.
“If anyone can bring him back, it’s you.” He also placed a dagger down. You looked up at him the shock clear on your face. “I did not know about the plot to kill him. And I have no ulterior motives coming to you.”
You could see the sadness and guilt written on his face.
“I won’t stop until I bring him back.”
Weeks passed full of failure and anger. But finally, you had figured it out. After some alterations, the spell was perfect. You had to wait for a full moon, but once it came you would have him back.
The spell was long and complicated. By the end of it, you thought you might collapse. But when you opened your eyes and saw Kol standing in front of you, it was worth it.
“Y/n.”
He stepped forward slowly until there was barely room between you. When his hand came up to cup your cheek, you felt tears fall from your eyes.
“Do you still love me Kol Mikaleson?”
The smile on his face was enough to make your heart skip a beat.
“How could I have ever stopped?”
