hi nana you kinda look like you’re havin a rough time so i’d like to just say that the effort you put into your themes and banners for not only your profile but your fics made me feel a lot better for doing the same on a lot of my socmed profiles , i used to think it was embarrassing and cringe to put so much effort into something people would only see if they stalked my profile but i now think it’s fun thanks to you :]
Thank you for appreciating my banner and themes, but I think putting effort into anything you enjoy shouldn’t be be a bad thing big followers or not. Who caresss what people think, you’re not hurting anyone? I used to think that I shouldn’t put some of this stuff up bc it looks bad and that’s what pushed me to try a little harder bc what an if not a little try hard when it comes to this stuff. I always thought it was an a form of escapism so it’s natural to be comfortable and real on here right? Everyone forgets that we’re on here for a good time sometimes and I wish we could all just do just that. Have fun with or little banners and stories we take like hours or days of months writing lol.
I hope you continuing doing what you enjoy on here anon on tumblr or any social media similar.

really wish americans would realise that christianity in their country is insane and not like the rest of the world. like i’m somewhat religious but like. i’m church of england. in the uk. once there was a sermon where the priest said ‘we all believe that jesus was resurrected from the dead’ and afterwards everyone was like :// not sure how we feel about this new priest. seems a bit extreme. like i’m not saying there aren’t problems with non-american christianity!! obviously there are!! obviously massive reforms are needed!! just. they’re not the same problems u know. your whole extreme judgement day is coming we’re all going to burn in hell is not normal. no one else has believed that since the 1800s. stop saying christians when you mean american evangelicals. not only is it annoying and inaccurate but it’s also harmful. it focuses our attention on problems that don’t exist for us which means the very real problems get to escape notice. which is also just a general issue with us-centrism.

Little known fact about me: I have had 2 severe head injuries in my life. One caused a brain bleed, and the other fractured my occipital bone and one other area which caused me to experience speech aphasia.
It’s relatively mild now, but sometimes my mouth just won’t form the words I’m trying to say and I stop talking half way through a sentence. Or I try to say one word, but they all get jumbled in my head and I say the wrong thing. Or, my favorite, is when my speech gets tripped up and I end up verbally stumbling around like a broken record.
It’s very disheartening to know you’re intelligent and get written off often because you sound “stupid”. I say all this to just ask people to be kind. Most people have no idea what it’s like to lack the foundation of human communication, so I just wanted to say that you never know what’s going on with someone or what caused they’re behaviors/patterns.
All this came about because I was told by a creative writing teacher today that I sounded ignorant reading out loud because “it’s not that hard”. For me, it is that hard

You ever just come across the spruce material for a fandom you were in ages ago and just have such a fond nostalgia for it? Like "omg I remember losing my fucking shit over that when that episode/chapter/book/season/update came out". And then going to see if the fandom is still alive cause said source material is old, you left the fandom like four years ago, and the source material hasn't received an update in ages and it's still active and you're like "Yo people still live here?"

i keep seeing this idea that Real wheelchair users all have custom active chairs, and that transport/standard chairs are just an embarrassing stereotype. “no one really uses those!” “stop drawing disabled characters in standard chairs!!”
well, plenty of us are a stereotype. sorry. custom chairs require MONEY and good medical support. meanwhile active chairs are unusable for some people. i used an uncomfy transport chair (the kind with tiny wheels and no way to self propel) for a year, and a standard chair for 7yrs. until i got my powerchair i was only ever pushed by a carer. a lot of disabled people will never use an active or custom chair. don’t pretend we don’t exist just because we don’t fit some cool independent ideal.
shoutout to people who use transport chairs and adaptive strollers and other chairs that need to be pushed by a carer
shoutout to people who use standard chairs that don’t fit their body
shoutout to people who use secondhand or makeshift wheelchairs
in my teens i literally felt invalid as a disabled person because i didnt have the ‘real actual’ type of wheelchair everyone talks about online. just my garbage transport chair that my mom had to push. but people with shitty wheelchairs exist and are extremely common actually

we heard that you were very disappointed in us both as a generation and specifically as a generation of women (emphasis yours), how we had let ourselves go and now we were slutty and ill-tempered and holding onto notions of feminism like "having a savings account" and "equality."
we were very sorry about it, we didn't realize. it is very hard for you, in your life, because your entire definition was centered around the word providing, and that's a really vague and undulating word. it is hard to be a provider. for your purposes, the word provider here can be defined as "having a job", although it sometimes also extends to "doing yard work", "grilling on occasion," and "knowing basic car anatomy."
we had to do some reading but we divided it out. do not worry. high-value women will fill in the rest of the gaps of your life - all those silly feminine things like doing the dishes. we didn't realize we had asked too much when we asked you to pick up after yourself. we did not realize you were rendered small and scared and crying about the possibility of doing the laundry. here is a joke to lighten the sentiment: a man that listens when you talk to him.
we heard about how we had fallen from glory and it sickened us and made us very, very sad. lindsey had to cut all her hair off and tara threw up. we lit one million candles and we are going to have a vigil about it tonight. all of the people in this world that you do not approve of are going to be there and we will all be in mourning colors because we have lost your respect which is of course the only thing that any of us were looking for.
we searched around our bedrooms and our closets and for some of us it took a while but we all found the pricetag that we were originally born with, the one that gave our listing offer, the one that smells like rot and pine needles. we were horrified because many of us had taken deductions and hadn't realized it. i had scraped my knees and decided to be a lesbian so they had to take my voicebox out so i could never call home again. janice had been with too many people overall so we had to put her into the big squisher that will hopefully collapse her walls so that when you're with her, you'll feel so big and powerful. it will be like you're conquering something instead of being close with someone.
we are all going to the funeral of feminism and we will tear at our bodies and fall over ourselves. we will invite you onstage for a live recording of your podcast about the occasional minor inconvenience of self-reflection. you will talk about how we have targeted you and made you feel the sweat slick down your back, and we will teach you basic self-defense out of solidarity.
do not worry, we are seeing to all the outliers. taylor asked to be taken seriously so we have shipped her off to prison. laura asked you to accept her femininity regardless of her presentation. you will be happy to hear all women are now and forever going to have to be small and thin and pretty and white and ablebodied and quiet and unassuming and ladylike, which is different than how society has previously told us to act.
i am going to have to shave off my jawline, which is a little masculine, and they are going to have to reshape my hands, which are very square and thick - all the work i've done with them has made their veins stand out, so we're just going to have to exsanguinate me. i am horrified to have been out in public like this.
we are going to sit around the campfire and we will talk about being weird little girls that made potions in pink teacups. we will talk about the first time we made a difference. we will talk about the private lives of crickets, and then, at the stroke of three in the morning (the witching hour, obviously) - we will all promptly shut up.
and this will be your beautiful world. this silence that spans every corner of every street and every zoom meeting and every alley. i do not think you'll notice at first - it will be the same as every television show and movie and book. we will all just simply sit there in our doll dresses and smile blithely at your advances and none of us will do you the dishonor of answering and none of us will appear to be in distress and none of us will nag you or make a fuss or get hysterical about it. it will just be quiet, and you will say finally, some peace for once! and we will smell of smoke and our teeth will be white and the next day will come.
tonight we are going to bury the last little bits of our humanity. you are not invited. it is going to be ugly.

Okay, for aro awareness week, I need you all to start recognizing that:
NOT EVERYONE IN THE ARO COMMUNITY IS FROM THE UNITED STATES OR EUROPE.
Please, when we're having discussions about aphobia, allonormativity amatonormativity, and other issues for the love of god STOP PRETENDING THAT WE DON'T EXIST AND LISTEN TO US!
We aren't just your token aros that exist in the other side of the world just for you to prove that we are everywhere or whatever point you're trying to make, we are living, breathing human beings and members of the aro community and we deserve respect and to be remembered not as a point in your discourse but as equals.
I am sick and tired of people just assuming that everyone in the community is either from the United States or Europe and only centering those voices in the discussion. We exist too.

it genuinely makes me so sad that no wlw show will live up to mlm tv “standards” and i feel like most of us have accepted that? like i think ppl are so fucking biased and love mlm shows like heartstopper cause they’re “so cute” but criticize the fuck out of wlw shows like first kill because it’s “cheesy”. like obviously the effects could be better but that’s all ppl focus on instead of the actual plot. THIS SHOW IS CUTE AND GAY AND ALL WE WANT IS REPRESENTATION and it’s super frustrating that no one gives wlw shows a chance at all. i just want this gay little vampire show to get renewed but i’m literally expecting it not to be cause that’s what always fucking happens.

in regards to the constant dismissal of his aroace identity, i hate it when alastor 'fans' say and use the excuse: "he's fictional, he won't get offended."
like, you're right, but it can and will offend us.
when you see yourself being represented on screen, of course you'd feel enthusiastic about it — representation allows individuals to see themselves reflected in the media they consume, validating their identities and experiences. but when so many people take that representation and decide to disregard and discard it, it is so fucking frustrating. we finally have another character to be part of the tiny amount of representation we have, but then people don't even care about how much it means to us? like yeah, alastor won't get offended because he's not real, but it frustrates and annoys us. do you realize that it's also technically invalidating the aroace community? that you're invalidating our feelings? imagine feeling like you're finally being seen because your orientation is finally being represented in media, and people just decide to blatantly ignore, discard, and invalidate it.
media has such a powerful influence on real life, representation being a prevalent factor of it. there are numerous posts that dictate how people went to watch a movie/show or read a book just because a character depicts their identity in it — obviously, being represented is an incredibly uplifting and validating experience.
which is why seeing an aroace character in a popular show is so meaningful to us because we live in a world where romance and sex are literally everywhere and prioritized above all else. (and it's pretty obvious that alastor's on the repulsed end of the spectrum, but even if he wasn't, at least make an effort to acknowledge his sexuality instead of continuing to portray him as allo; aroace folks can be in relationships but it's not going to be the same thing with allos' experiences.)
any and every representation matters, but why does that seem to stop at people under the aroace spectrum? like y'all can't even let us appreciate the scraps of representation we have. we barely have any, so are we really that dramatic for being upset at how people easily disregard and dismiss our identities that are being depicted on screen just like that? is it truly wrong of us to want to defend and maintain the little representation we have?

tbh I headcanon percy to eventually land on an environmental science major in college after a lot of experimenting around and not because of his dad but because of *grover* and his belief in finding pan, because of knowing how much the mortal and mythical world have been hurting the earth itself, and because if there's one thing that could convince percy jackson to study, it's justice. plus I think he and annabeth would totally geek out over sustainability as restorative and regenerative design. this is your "build something that lasts" couple. your "ur system is broken fix it rn" couple. if the mythical world EVER left them alone they would 100% be pursuing justice at any other stop they found themselves in anyway

The podcast with the Duffers talking about Eddie really pissed me off. They just really came off as if they'd put very little thought into his character other than, hey, wouldn't it be cool if...? So many things don't add up.
Like, them saying he was never going to graduate. That was just an unrealistic dream of his. For one, have they never heard of a GED? (No, but, seriously, have they??)
And also, Eddie wasn't stupid. He read Lord of the Rings. Not an easy novel to get through, and especially frustrating for those who don't read well. He tends to have a pretty impressive vocabulary. Writes out entire D&D campaigns, including maps, etc (again with the reading), and I have yet to meet a D&D DM who isn't smart and creative and incredibly detailed. He pulls percentages out of his ass for weed discounts. And, hello, it's doubtful his family had the means for guitar lessons, so he is one hundred percent self-taught. Which leads me to believe the only reason he hadn't graduated was because he didn't want to (and that's an entirely separate topic delving into Eddie's psyche that I'll save for another day). Let's not also ignore the fact that he very likely designed the Hellfire logo.
But, he had no future. And yes, yes, the whole 'but he was wanted for murder and would end up on death row' excuse. In a show where the government has multiple times stepped in to make up stories to clean up the mess from the Upside Down. Where there was zero evidence to pin it on Eddie, and, oh yeah, multiple witnesses including Steve, Dustin, Max, and Robin who could literally provide an alibi for Eddie during Fred's death??
ETA: ALSO. You can't use the whole murder thing as an excuse when Hopper, the heroic sheriff, would've been back just in time to step in and go, uh, no. Sorry. Not him.
But, seriously, Duffers. Do you think before you say any of this crap?
