Matoran Macku

Having made a scuffed lightbox for a different project, I figured it was time to share my matoran gang, starting with my favorite.

My parts choice for this model was to get as much color variety as possible in order to build the characters I wanted, AND, I absolutely wanted to use the mctoran foot for Mata-Nui authenticity.

From there I wanted to get as much poseability as I could, because I love posing figures.

I like juuust a hint of sexual dimorphism in my Bonks, so Macku and other Ga-Matoran I've built have a slightly longer axle and a set of spacers in their hips. The classic Gali chest piece was also used here but that steadily became a non exclusive trait as I built matoran in stranger colors and needed the socket pieces to fill out their schemes.

I consider this body configuration to be the post-bohrok rebuild, with a little Mask of Light mixed in.

I'll post some more later because I built a ton of these gremlins.

Maku

His relationship with his daughter and son

Kianna:

At first was very strained and had a lot of tension

Both had different views on life and different attributes

And sometimes maku wonders why he adopted her he doesn't regret it she's his daughter but he didn't know it was going to be so much work especially dealing with a daughter that's basically the many version of him

Of course with their own obvious differences

They do have their fights in differences but they may not say it to each other but they do love each other despite kianna being angry that he didn't come for her sooner but understood the circumstances

But with the blood tablets and asking her to try to swallow one and well he realized like with Subaru she had a violent reaction to it she ended up choking and spitting out the tablet and running into the bathroom and smashing the mirror maku was not happy but was happy that it wasn't as worse as Subaru because he practically teared apart his room and half of the house

Subaru

To be honest Subaru had a violent reaction to maku since he didn't know him and thought it was his own father in disguise but realizing it wasn't but he was still angry but confused

Obviously they were on Rocky terms Subaru was violent and rough and moku didn't like that especially for his daughter's safety so maku pointed out Subarus toxic behavior and trying to instill it as love he forced Subaru into realizing

that type of Love is wrong and that was the love his own father fed his mother and that's what made Subaru realize if he didn't stop he was either going to become worser than his brothers or become his father so given some therapy some yelling and scolding but understandment and compassion Subaru learn to control his

violent tendencies mostly taking it out on either old stuffed animals that kianna didn't need or was already ripped Beyond repair of course maku introduced him to a punching bag which became his main source of getting out his anger

But over time Subaru began to see maku as a healthy father figure and a healthy person that his mother is safe to be around

Fun facts

He actually used to have brown hair and yellow eyes

Although over time faded into silvery blue and black

Like his mother's eyes and hair* my headcanon*

He despises bugs and perverted men

He doesn't like how a man can be so Shameless

And blatantly cat call a girl thinking she'll like it

That's why he's always been a bit strict with what kianna would wear

He understands that she can take care of herself but he knows she's a small girl and that if she wasn't careful something horrible could happen to her

Now he has a soft spot for children and animals

Due to his father's unsavory Behavior with his mother he has a strong respect for women

As of what his mother went through

And hopes that she's either at rest or escaped

While on Homeworld maku noticed that demaryius's

Mental health was deteriorating even as a god

And so he ended up walking into demaryius's office just to see him cutting himself

Which promptly ended up in maku yelling at him and grabbing his arm

Catching the attention of other children

Sister Rosa was not pleased to find her father cutting himself as much as she didn't trust maku she was happy he stopped father before he did something worse to himself

In that time in demaryius's isolation maku made sure he was away from sharp objects

And like with sister Rosa he forced him to take a break and sleep

And not to worry about the children since most of them were very independent

And could help each other

About that time he was always there Demaryius letting him cry on his shoulder letting out all his pent-up emotions

And maku was always there

Of course there were times where his children

Would also check on him since they cared a lot about their father and were scared for his well-being

But sister Rosa kept them away since she didn't want them seeing their father in such a unwell state especially at such a young age

Now maku was there rubbing demaryius's back to calm him down from a mental breakdown

And there when he would make Demaryius eat

When he would stop eating

Maku was overjoyed

And without thinking kiss Demaryius

Instead of Demaryius pushing him away he kissed back

And truth be told throughout that time Demaryius fell in love with maku

Demaryius headcanons

His favourite birds are the cerulean warbler and lilac-breasted roller due to their stunning colours.

He's not fond of nihilism and cynicism

He's a strong believer of stoicism, but he does think that it's okay to show emotion under certain circumstances.

He believes in humourism

He's a workaholic out of a need to be useful and protect those he dearly loves.

Whenever he isn't busy and he's spending time with his children, he likes to make a wide range of desserts. It's one of his ways to express gratitude and appreciation for his beloved children.

If given the chance, he'll murder all abusers who originally harmed their children. He hates abuse and he feels absolutely terrible when he feels as though he can't help to relieve some of the trauma of their children.

He was once in a romantic relationship with a tender-hearted goddess who saw him more than a good-looking man. They were on good terms with another, but Zeus would kill her after deeming humanity to be his creation and not Demaryius'.

He's still unsure why Maku loves him

He loves Maku, but he's not entirely sure how to express it in a healthy way.

He struggles with romantic relationships

He's much better with social interactions between him and his children due to his fatherly instincts.

He likes it when Sister Rosa combs his hair

He enjoys all of the sewn dresses that Kianna made over the years.

Even though he's not fond of mischief, he can't help but to find Koi as funny and the kind of person that's needed to lighten up the mood in Homeworld.

He's more of a pacifist than a warmonger

He tries to stay away from fights, believing that peace treaties are the better option. However, he'll put up a fight when there is no other choice.

He wishes that there are more deities and angels who are interested in his cause to protect humanity.

He feels sad for the deities and angels who wanted to join him, but couldn't due to the fear of being killed and ostracised.

He likes to look at himself in the mirror or in a clean lake. He's not doing it out of arrogance, he does this in order to ensure that everything will turn out okay. It's also an outlet for him to clear his thoughts as he's more focused on his physical appearance than anything else.

Nightmares

Kianna pulled out her pale pink flip phone. She had finished a study group with Yuki and Sayori after class. They made some progress on studing for their semester's final exams and Kianna was confident she would pass when the time came. She hadn’t seen or spoken to anyone from the night class since Senri's confrontation with Azusa the other night. Instead, Kianna had been busy with school work and preparing for finals. Regardless, after testing, everyone would be setting up the ball before winter break. Knowing this, Kianna decided to contact her father.

'Father...' Kianna wrote.

'R U Ok?' Maku asked. Their messages were condensed to avoid a high texting bill.

'Yes' Kianna replied. 'Want U 2 meet my boyfriend'. She said.

'Boyfriend'? Maku repeated in question. This was news to him. Although he had been teaching at Cross Academy for a few weeks, Kianna never told him about having a partner. Luckily, he was up grading in the teacher's residence when his daughter shot him a message.

'Yes'. Kianna replied. '@ the ball'. She simply stated.

'Ok'. Maku concluded. Even though he had more questions for Kianna, he thought it was best to return to his work.

Once Kianna was through texting her father, she closed her flip phone and threw it into her shoulder bag. She had a couple hours left before sundown to work on her dress for the school dance. Exiting the classroom, Kianna made her way back to the moon dormitory. Eventually, she retreated to her bedroom where her ballgown hung over a mannequin. Kianna insisted on creating her own attire for the event. This included her choker accessory. The remaining elements of her look were purchased at a thrift store.

Kianna had to stitch up the hem of the bodice and the base of the dress would be done. As she guided the thread through the trim, the siver needle stuck out of the white shining fabric. When Kianna was on the last stitch, her eyes suddenly crossed. Her vision glossed over. It was like someone smeared a thick gel over a camra lense. Kianna then squeezed her eyes shut before rubbing them with the back of her hand. Unfortunately, Kianna's vision was still blured. Rapidly blinking, she attempted to pinch the needle and guide it through but a sharp prick came to the tip of her finger instead. Kianna didn't gasp, but she jolted her hand away.

"Ugh". Kianna groaned. At this point, she needed to stop and rest. Kianna then dropped the needle knowing it was still attached to thread in the dress and walked away. Rather than finish working, Kianna figured she should take a bath. She then tiredly shuffled her feet over to her private bathroom and shut the door.

After a while of sawing, Kianna felt fatigued. It was a good thing she could simply leave her various sewing kits lying around the other half of her room because Kianna was too tired to clean up after herself. When she finished tending to her dress for the evening, Kianna thought a bath would soothe her tense shoulders.

The hot water flowed into the white clawfoot tub. Steam clouded the mirror above the bathroom vanity. Kianna drawed the transparent curtain hung around the tub. A sphere then splashed into the rising water. The bathbomb Kianna dropped quickly began to erode. It fizzled and bubbled until petals surfaced from its center. The clear water turned red with the floral scent of rose rising into the air. With Kianna's distorted vision, the bath water appeared to be mixed with blood. Upon dipping into the warm water, she found her heavy eyes fluttering close.

Suddenly, visions of white crossed her line of sight. Cold and fuzzy, white fell from the sky. Blistering winds rushed past. Through the hazy atmosphere, a red cloaked figure stood afar. They walked beside paw prints in the snowy ground. Yet, further still was what appeared to be a gray castle slowly being coated in white amongst the winter storm. In a blink, a frozen foyer appeared. Furniture was buried under blankets of snow. Icicles hung high around the crystal chandeliers and lined the perimeter of every archway in sight. Pale fingers touched a frosty pillar as a long howl echoed from outside. Wolves serenade the hooded figure from before.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Kianna...!" A high-pitched voice cried.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Kianna! Are you in there"?! Yuki's muffled voice called out.

Kianna's eyes snapped open. Her eyes immediately fell onto the crimson liquid surrounding her body. "Ah"! Kianna cried. Her thin limbs thrashed about in the water.

"What's going on"? Zero exclaimed. His muffled, but concerned voice could be heard on the other side of the bathroom door.

For a moment, Kianna forgot where she was. It wasn't until her panicked eyes darted around the area the short girl realized she was in her own bathroom. Kianna must have fallen asleep in the bath before being awoken unexpectedly. Exhaling, she regained her composure. "I-I'm fine"! Kianna announced. "I'll be out soon"! She said, rising from the bath.

"Okay. Take your time. Zero and I are just here for a surprise dorm inspection". Yuki stated.

"This place is a mess". Zero grumbled. The silver-haired boy's voice sounded more distant than before.

"Zero"! Yuki exclaimed in a hushed tone. By the sound of their voices, the Disciplinary Committee members must have left the bathroom doorway.

By the time Kianna left the bathroom, she found Yuki awkwardly standing in her room. Yuki eyed the girl's tiny figure wrapped in a towel. Kianna's short, brunette hair was wet from the bath, but not dripping.

"Uh..." Yuki fidgeted. The teenage girl then straighted her posture and stared Kianna in the eye. "Sorry, Kianna, but dorm regulations declare all students must keep a tidy living quarters. Although there's nothing dangerous in here, which would deem your room unsafe to live in, I must advise you to clean your room. If your room isn't up to standards by the end of the day, you will be fined". Yuki announced.

"Okay". Kianna replied. Her amber eyes scanned her bedroom. There were several sewing kits strewn about allover the floor on the left side of the room. Her vanity was cluttered with loose makeup and perfume bottles. Kianna's dressing screen had nightdresses drapped allover it. Finally, her mannequins were placed everywhere, rather than lined up on the left side of her room in a row. It was true. Kianna had been neglecting her room for a while. Studying had been taking up much of her time to where she hadn’t felt the need to clean up after herself.

"Aido, what you've done is against dorm restrictions". Zero's voice rang out.

"I assure you, Zero, I will remind Hanabusa of the rules". Kaname replied.

Yuki then turned around and opened Kianna's bedroom door. "What's going on"? She asked, stepping out into the hallway.

"Get rid of it all". Kaname demanded with his arms crossed.

"If I develop muscles from this my agency will be very upset". Senri stated, walking out of Hanabusa and Akatsuki's room. In his arms was a box of various broken objects. As Senri made his way through the hall, he looked up to see Kianna's bedroom door wide open. Inside, his girlfriend was only wearing a towel. His blue-gray eyes immediately widened and his cheeks flushed.

"My treasures"! Hanabusa cried behind Shiki.

Zero huffed in annoyance at the blonde vampire. He then turned to say something when his mouth hung agape at the sight from across the upstairs foyer. "Yuki"! Zero snapped. Out of respect, the young male quickly turned his head to the side and closed his eyes. 

'My treasure is exposed'! Senri mentally screamed to himself.

"Cross"! Senri exclaimed.

"Huh"? Yuki hummed. Her furrowed brow said it all as she whipped her body around to see she left Kianna's bedroom door open in the chaos. Yuki's face reddened. "Ah! Sorry, Kianna"! She cried, rushing over to Kianna's bedroom and slamming the door shut.

Bionicle, but all the Ga-Matoran are seals/selkies.

This is one of my odd ideas for “Bionicle” regarding folklore and fairy tales. An AU of “Bionicle”, where all the Ga-Matoran are seals/selkies.

The reason I think about seals and selkies for this AU is because the Ga-Matoran are like seals/selkies to me, in that since they’re more agile in the water than on land and have a greater lung capacity than other elements of Matoran, yet can’t stay underwater forever and do have houses on dry land, the seals are similar in that way too: they belong in the water, but they’ve gotta take a breath of fresh air every once in a while and be on dry land.
