#manorian sex scene

Note
God, I want a Manorian novella/book so bad. Not even for the sex (which would be hot and probably kinky), but for the actual plot we could have. The politics, the angst, the drama. Especially the political plot. How would Dorian’s court/council and the people of Adarlan feel about Manon being his lover? And even if they’re just fuck buddies, (& eventually confess their feelings and become lovers) how would people feel about Dorian and Manon being allies/trying to form an alliance? The witches attacked the city, and I’m sure some people are still angry and frightened. How would his mother and brother react to Manon? How is Dorian coping with his trauma and learning to command? How is Manon (and Abraxos) grieving the loss of her Thirteen? How is she going to rule, and bring the peace between Ironteeth and Crochan? Would the Yellowlegs clan try to rebel and start a war?
Also, if Manorian did get a novella/book, it could take place a few months after the war, without Manon and Dorian having seen each other, busy taking care of their kingdoms, but they see each other again for the first time in months at Elide and Lorcan’s wedding. We could get a bonus chapter of Elorcan smut since all we got in KoA was “so Lorcan did” 😂
And to add to all these thoughts How do the people of Adarlan/Rifthold feel about their King leaving when they needed him most? I'd assumed some would understand but some would not. That whole city is a mess that not only Dorian but Chaol have to clean up. And yeah how would his people react to Manon as his Queen. As Dorian said, there is only one witch who will be my Queen. So daddy phantom hands has only one woman on his mind. Unfortunately for the people of Adarlan, arranged marriages to tie up political issues happen. Even if Manon and Dorian weren't obsessed with one another the marriage for political gain is a good move.
Honestly Aelin just needs to go down and tell the people to shut up its happening and if they have a problem with their soon to be Queen they're gonna deal with her.
And I would die for that Elorcan bonus scene. I'm so desperate I'll settle for Manon needing Elides help, busting her door open and she's in the middle of getting absolutely railed by Lorcan. And Lorcan just grunting out, "The godsdamned door is shut for a reason witch." As he just continues thrusting into Elide.
Please Sarah. PLEASE

ToG Read-A-Long, Empire of Storms, day 10
Ch 58
Ok so then… there’s no lock. Or the lock is already in possession of somebody else?
Who has the lock, then? The witch clans?
Maybe Baba Yellowlegs had it? In the traveling carnival? Maybe Lorcan and Elide can find it if they go back with their traveling carnival friends?
Ansel is here! I remember you. You broke Celaena’s heart, once. You made her afraid of opening up to people. Of making friends.
You kinda suck. Are you… here to make amends?
Ch 59
I guess SO!
I bet Aedion feels like a total ass right now.
The scene at the end with Aedion and Lysandra? Talk about putting the breaks on. Girl, he already proposed to you! What part of “something between us” do you still need convincing of, lol.
If she just wants to be friends, she just wants to be friends. I guess that’ll have to be enough. But I do feel kind of bad for Aedion, it sucks to put your heart out there and get received like that.
Ch 60
"There was not one hour that I did not think about what I did in the desert. How you fired that arrow after twenty-one minutes. You told me twenty, that you'd shoot even if I wasn't out of range. I was counting; I knew how many it had been. You gave me an extra minute."
AW.
That actually means a lot. This girl was the first one to break Celaena’s heart, and it’s good to know that she forgave her. That she was gonna come free her from Endovier. Damn, friendship really does mean forever in this story. And Ansel is a real valuable friend to have.
(My only wish is she would be nicer to Manon?)
(Like I get it, the connection to the Wastes isn’t just gonna be easily forgotten by either of them, but ouch)
(Everyone be nice to Manon, please!)
(She’s on your side, so treat her with respect!)
Another Manorian scene!
(It’s ok you guys, I’m a big girl, I can read about people having sex even if I don’t personally ship it, lol)
(I like reading smut! It’s actually kind of my favorite! I just like it better when… I can have feelings, and get emotionally invested in the characters, y’know?)(I also enjoy sex just for the sake of sex, so I’m happy to read any smut SJM is willing to write, because she’s really good at it, and it’s fun to read)
(I’ll stop picking on these two now)
(They seem happy and healthy and horny, and honestly, good for them)
Maeve is here to crash the party. Well well well. Maybe Aelin is gonna defeat her? Find some way to trick her into ending the oath on all the rest of them? Now would be a good time to do that, because I think Elide would cry a lot if Fenrys and Gavriel decide to obey her and kill Lorcan.
Ch 61
What is Rowan doing so secretly!
Is he earning alliances? I’m real curious.
I would like some clarification on mates and mating, as it pertains to this series. Are mating bonds treated like the most supreme thing in this world, the way they are in ACOTAR? Are they rare? If a person were to lose their mate, would they ever be able to find another one? How many mates can someone have? Is there a way to break a mating bond, if you don’t want to be in it anymore? Are Rowan and Aelin allowed to call themselves mates, because they’ve fallen in love, and claimed each other with bites, or is it more complicated than that? Would people respect a relationship like theirs - if they choose to be together even though they’re not fated mates - or is it taboo to devote yourself to someone like that?
Ch 62
“Dorian cut the Queen of Terrasen a wry glance. “People other than you can solve things, you know.” “
Lol. Yeah, we know!
Good job, baby. You put that mind to good work. You’re good at riddles!
(I think I spaced out, because I don’t remember reading that riddle) (but still. Good job!)
I’m kinda excited for a Manon and Aelin solo adventure!
Ch 63
So um.
No solo adventure, huh?
Just gonna stay right here with the rest of the cast. That’s - not what I wanted, but ok.
Dorian talking to Rowan about dying, oof 💔
At least they are among friends.
(They’re not gonna die tho! By the hands of Maeve? She wishes.)
Ch 64
Manon and Aelin solo adventure!
Let the bond of friendship begin!
I’m hyped!
I was talking to my ER provider about where I am in these books. He was very enthusiastic about telling me that Tower of Dawn is his favorite book in the series, and that I just need to hang in there, because it’s about to get so good.
I didn’t say I’m not enjoying this book, but I was complaining about the pacing, and how I’m sick of the stakes being so high all the time, and just ready for the characters to be happy and be in love. Which. I do still stand by. But also. I am sick of the action sequences that feel like filler episode fights. This book has been kinda nonstop with them. For all that Lysandra complains about her fear of losing friends, it doesn’t seem like that’s a reality. They’re kinda stacked, in terms of strength and power and magic vs the bad guys. I feel like I haven’t really worried about anyone, except Elide, but that was before she and Lorcan joined up with Aelin. Now that they’re all together I feel like they’re pretty much unstoppable.
I hope I’m not about to eat my words, because I DON’T want to see anybody get hurt. But yeah. Would like things to move along, plot wise outside of the action and fighting. I’m ready to feel something emotional.

Dorian’s magic reacting on its own:
Crown of Midnight/Empire of Storms
As you may not know, I’m re-reading Crown of Midnight, and I couldn’t help but record Dorian’s magic development and how he changes with it (I may share it when I get my notes in order lol).
And–during this– I bumped into that scene right after Nehemia’s death, when Aelin launched herself at Chaol.
Dorian’s magic reacts the same exact way as it has to Manon being threatened by that beast in the Marshes. Dorian saves Chaol from death, stopping Celaena’s hand from stabbing him.
Tumblr media
Phantom hands.
To be honest, I had forgotten about that and when I first read that part (before going into Dorian’s POV, where he explain that himself) and I weighed in that it had been Dorian because of Empire of Storms…. I was squealing with joy according to the reverse dictionary.
Then he talks and about that situation, AND HERE IT’S THE INTERESTING PART:
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE EXPLANATION WE DON’T GET AFTER THAT SCENE IN THE MARSHES (cause it is Aelin’s POV) AND–cough–that scene on the ship(Manon’s POV)–cough–because it was there like 3 books before.
So now, we can say that, canonly(does it exist?):
1. His magic reacts on its own when someone he deeply cares about is in danger.
Another point to take into account is that during Crown of Midnight he has no control at all over his magic, it depends on his emotions; this is a manifestation of them. Even though in EoS he kind of masters it, this Manon-Monster situation proves that his magic is still tied to his feeling, alongside when she arrives in Abraxos. (I think if the arrow had flight, he would have stopped it in midair unconsciously)
2. GUYS, I’M GLAD TO ANNOUNCE THAT–canonly, my new word–DORIAN HAVILLIARD CAN FEEL WHAT HE GRABS WITH HIS PHANTOM HANDS. “He could feel his blood-crusted skin as if he himself were touching her”.
I’m done.
That’s all I had to say.
Goodbye.
Have a good day.

But if Dorian knows he's Manon's mate... doesn't that make him an ass for having sex with her without telling her? Also, I thought it would be crazy if we actually got mates who really didn't like each other (not Manorian)
So, I’m not 100% sure if Dorian is consciously aware that they’re mates. Like I’m not sure the full magnitude of that has hit him. And if he is consciously aware, I think it’s likely that he is testing what that boundary is and means. Remember Dorian’s character is all about free choice. That’s his whole thing. He doesn’t want anyone forcing his hand, he wants to make his own decisions. So to be in a situation where his magic is like, “Yo, you belong to this girl,” would make him feel weird. He’d want to know just what that means and why he should accept it. If that makes sense?
And, no. Him not telling Manon does not in any way shape or form make him an ass. He doesn’t like people taking away his choices, so why then would he want to take away hers? He’s also smart enough to have picked up on the fact that she’s just come out on an abusive relationship (the Matron), and is trying to learn to live without being told how. She’s flexing her muscles. I’d also wager that he is aware that she’s just started to scrape the surface of showing open displays of affection (Abraxos on deck when she has to send him away chapter 51), and learning what it’s like to not always be in control.
Being in love with someone comes it to be (to some degree) out of control. And they both are at moments where their need to be in control is being renegotiated.
And I think we might in ACOTAR.

how couples fight
kanej-quite but brutal. they know exactly where to hit but at the same time they both respect each other’s boundaries. save each other from certain death as an apology.
wesper-loud and usually say something they don’t mean but they always make up really quickly
helnik-loud loud loud. lots of yelling and insulting. buy each other waffles to say sorry.
feysand-intense, they get heated. say things they don’t believe but know will hurt the other. space and then communicate
nessian-like full on verbal assault. very aggressive neither will ever back down. angry sex to calm down and then they talk it out
gwynriel-calm, lots of “the disappointment card” very passive aggressive
elucien-outburst and then ignoring. wanting to talk to each other but not having the balls to do it until finally one caves
rowaelin-screaming, making a scene. brawl it out
choarene-passionate. intense. maybe some crying
elorcan-hella insults. hit them where it hurts. like tell me how you really feel
manorian-just full on ignore. don’t talk. wait until it goes away. but they pause when they’re both horny
lysadeion-adeion’s a dick. and lysandra makes him pay for his behavior
quinlar-very passive aggressive until the other forces them to talk to them. then a lot of yelling.

I can't believe people are upset at me for saying nessian weren't a kinky couple lmao
So here's the definition of kink
Tumblr media
Now what was unusual about nessian's sex? They only had rough doggystyle for godsake. That's normal and vanilla. And it's not my fault yall aren't informed about kinks tbh. Not my job to coddle you about it.
None of sjm's couples are kinky except manorian (the play with dorian's magic counts) and feysand (call them vanilla all you want but objectively they aren't. They had sex in public - > acofas ; and get off knowing people are watching them - > court of nightmares scene in acomaf).
Like you can believe all you want about your fave couple but it's not my fault they're only your headcanon and beliefs, not what's actually canon.

manorian is one of the most disturbing ships janet ever wrote. do you realize manon was mentally unstable when dorian approached her? she was in chains.
dorian lost sorcha and manon lost her home.
they both needed help.
but of course! what a good opportunity to write a sex scene!
honestly FUCK THAT.

Manorian's sex scenes (specially the first one) are the most beautiful ones in Throne of Glass series.

Note
Are Nessian sex scenes realistic? I mean, more like Manon and Dorian scenes? (Manorian is the first couple I thought after u saying Cassian is top first)
I haven't read up to that point in Throne of Glass but it's as realistic as fae sex I guess

Queen of Peace, Chapter 2
A manorian high school AU
Words: 1773
Warnings: Vague mentions of psychological abuse
AO3 Link: Click here
Summary: Manon Blackbeak is flawless, untouchable. From the outside at least. Her grandmother pushes her to achieve greatness, and she doesn't let anyone get too close in fear of being hurt. How can anyone love her when not even her parents could?
Dorian Havilliard has always felt safe and confident around his friends. He might not have the greatest of families, but with Aelin and Chaol by his side, nothing can go wrong. That is until he tries keeping his greatest secret from them.
What will happen when Dorian and Manon gets to know one another? Can two lost souls find their way back together?
Tumblr media
‘Cause I’m gonna be free and I’m gonna be fine
But maybe not tonight
-Florence + The Machine, Delilah
Manon stared into her history book as the desks around her slowly filled up with students.
People were talking about their summers. Parties and hook-ups and vacations and memories made with friends.
She couldn’t have cared less.
The classroom buzzed with excitement over a new semester, a new year. She couldn’t have cared less about that either.
Manon only wanted one thing: To stay focused on her grades, get into a good college and get out of this hellhole. Only the best will do. You don’t want to end up like your mother, do you?
Shaking off her grandmother’s words, she looked up just in time to see Elide Lochan enter the classroom. The girl was wearing a light blue dress, wavy, dark brown hair cascading down her back, and she was headed straight towards Manon. Fuck.
She had managed three years of high school without having to share a class with Elide, but apparently her luck had run out.
Lochan was a walking ray of sunshine. Always smiling, always talking, always caring. She had been Manon’s best friend once, but that was a whole other story.
«Is this seat taken?» Elide asked, still smiling. Manon looked around to see that all the other desks had already been filled up with students.
«I guess it isn’t,» she answered drily before diving back into her book, trying her very best to ignore the girl sitting down next to her.
Elide put down her backpack, taking out her books and placing them in front of her. «How was your summer?»
That girl will only slow you down, stopping you from reaching your goals.
Manon shrugged, not taking her eyes away from the textbook.
She will find new friends as soon as you start high school anyway.
Elide - clearly not taking the hint - spoke again: «I really miss you, Manon.» Her voice seemed hurt, but Manon was certain she could hear a sliver of hope as well.
«No, you don’t.» She still couldn’t look up, couldn’t see the crushing disappointment surely written all over Elide’s face now.
You need to stay focused. You need to study, and not spend your time giggling over make-up and boys.
The next time Elide spoke, Manon lifted her gaze in surprise, for her voice was not shaking, it was hard, almost cold, as she said: «You think you can push me away, but I don’t believe any of this stone cold act you’re putting on. I see you, Manon.»
«No, you don’t,» Manon replied quickly, voice emotionless.
Elide didn’t cower under her stare, didn’t look away. She looked angry, and just as she was about to speak again, the teacher walked in.
Manon turned to face the board, their teacher clapping his hands together before saying:
«Welcome back! Before we get started on today’s lesson, I just want to let you know that the places you have now will be your places for the rest of the semester.»
Fuck.
-
Dorian was walking down the hallway with Aelin, who was furiously ranting about some book she had just finished.
«-and then she went to find this creature so it could tell her how she could heal him, and it reveals that they’re fucking mates! It was insane! So she did the only sensible thing, she stormed off, leaving him, but a few days later he finds her and he tells her everything and she accepts the bond - and believe me, I was sobbing when I read that part - and then they have sex for like 20 pages or something, it was wild - there are other scenes like that too and I didn’t know so I was reading the first one in front of my mom, and she just goes: you okay there Aelin? You look a little warm. I shit you not, she actually said that as I was reading this super steamy scene - anyway, you think everything will be fine but on the last pages EVERYTHING goes to hell and then it just ends!»
Dorian failed to hide his grin as Aelin gestured wildly. She looked mad. «You done yet?»
Aelin gave him a sheepish smile as she said: «Yes, I’m done. I can’t wait for you to read this so we can discuss it together.»
«I’m gonna start it as soon as I have finished my current read, did I tell you about that?»
But Aelin wasn’t listening anymore, Dorian noticed. She had stopped, her smile gone as she was staring at something ahead of them.
Dorian followed Aelin’s gaze until his eyes landed on Manon Blackbeak, standing by her locker, listening to her cousin with a bored expression. She was one of the seniors - just like them - but Dorian had never actually spoken to her. They had never shared any classes, and she wasn’t someone you could just walk over to and start a conversation with.
No, Manon Blackbeak was untouchable.
As Dorian looked at her, he had to admit she was rather pretty. She had long, silky, white hair, full lips wearing a bright red lipstick and her light brown eyes looked like molten gold.
Stop staring, you creep, he scolded himself, shifting his attention to Aelin.
«You okay?» Dorian asked his friend.
Aelin finally seemed to come out of her trance. «Yeah, she just gives me the creeps,» she said, nodding her head towards Manon. «I had PE with her last year, and I swear to god, she has the emotional range of a teaspoon.»
He looked over at her, smirking. «Did you just quote Harry Potter? Nerd.»
She lightly punched his arm. «We both know I could recite the whole series from memory,» she replied, rolling her eyes at him. «Besides, you took that reference. Nerd,» Aelin mocked back, mimicking his voice and sticking her tongue out at him.
Dorian laughed before realizing they now stood outside the science classroom. «Shit! This is my stop. See you at lunch?»
Aelin gave him two thumbs up and a grin before disappearing into the crowd.
As he stepped into the classroom, his mind wandered back to silky, white hair and a pair of golden eyes. Aelin might believe her to be incapable of feeling, but the depth of those eyes told a different story. A story Dorian wanted to hear.
-
«-five, six, seven, eight. And one, two, three -.» The music came to a halt, Manon turning around to face the rest of her team.
«Why did we stop?» Vesta asked, panting slightly, always the first to speak.
Manon didn’t have the patience for this. Today had been stressful enough as it was. After having to spend an entire history lesson with Elide Lochan, her day had progressively gotten worse. It was only the first day of school, and she had already been assigned with two tests and a two-thousand word essay.
«You’re falling behind again, Sorrel,» Manon answered, annoyance clear in her voice.
The routine wasn’t that hard. As long as you focused on the music, it was easy to coordinate the moves.
She could see Asterin rolling her eyes as her cousin bit back: «It’s the first practice after summer vacation! We should start with something easier to get back into the rhythm.»
«You should be in ‘the rhythm’ already. Actually, you should have spent your summer getting better. All the progress we had before vacation is gone now. If we wanna beat Iskra and her team we need to step up.»
You need to be the very best. Always. I won’t accept any less.
Manon could see that Asterin was about to protest, but she beat her to it. «And need I remind you, Asterin, who’s captain of this team?»
She turned the music back on, her grandmother’s words still repeating in her mind.
«We’ll keep practicing this until you know it backwards.»
-
Dorian was lying in bed, looking at old photos, an episode of BuzzFeed Unsolved playing in the background.
He kept scrolling until he reached a photo of himself and Aelin grinning madly as they were riding a rollercoaster. He remembered Chaol chickening out at the last minute, how Aelin clutched his hand as they neared the top, himself puking into a trashcan as soon as they got off. It was taken years ago, but Dorian could still hear the children screaming in frightened delight, could still taste the cotton candy he had shared with his friends, could still smell the popcorn.
If he focused hard enough, he could still feel what it was like being a child. When you had nothing to worry about, because your dad was the strongest, bravest person in the world and your mom could fix every problem.
But it wasn’t like that anymore. They had grown up. Dorian had grown up, and along the way he had realized that his dad was a weak and pathetic coward and his mom could barely handle her own problems.
He looked back at the picture. It wasn’t just his family that had changed.
Dorian, Aelin, Chaol.
It had been the three of them for as long as he could remember. Dorian couldn’t even recall how they had met. Aelin and Chaol was a constant in his life. The one thing he could always rely on, no matter what.
All of that was changing now. He could feel it.
They would soon be scattered across the country for college, and Aelin was spending much more time with Rowan, now that he was her boyfriend.
That isn’t the only thing keeping you apart, a voice inside of him said.
It was also the matter of the secret he kept from them.
Dorian still hadn’t told them he was bisexual. His stomach grew heavy as he yet again reminded himself of the fact.
He didn’t know what he was so scared of. They would without a doubt support him - and he wasn’t ashamed of his sexuality, not in any way - but it was always a possibility, always a what if? And if he told his friends it would be out in the world, and Dorian would no longer have all the control.
The secret inside him kept tugging and tugging, fighting it’s way out, but something stopped it.
Dorian hated himself for not being able to just say it.
He was done letting this get in the way of his friendship.
This was the last year they all had together before going separate ways. He didn’t want to spend it pretending to be someone he was not.
He just had to find the courage first.
A/N: And we're getting started!
Thank you so much for reading this<3
Feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you think<3
Also, I will begin every chapter with a Florence + The Machine quote just because no one can stop me;)
Peace&Love -Dawninlatin<3

One thing that makes me laugh is when people have said that in Azriel’s bonus chapter, the part with Elain, made them uncomfortable, e/riel’s will say we can’t handle kink or what should we expect of a 500 year old man. Azriel’s bonus chapter wasn’t even kinky. Silver Flames wasn’t kinky either. If anything, Manon & Dorian’s sex scenes in Empire of Storms and Kingdom of Ash were more kinky than Silver Flames and that bonus chapter. What made people uncomfortable was the lack of depth and romance. Azriel’s self shame and how he kept talking about Elain felt like some purity kind of thing, if that makes sense, was weird. (I don’t know how to explain it in words but it makes sense in my head). Azriel is supposedly in love with Elain, but if you take away the sexual attraction/lust we got nothing. Nothing about if he had actual romantic feelings for Elain, about her as a person, what he knows about her other than she likes to bake and garden and she’s beautiful.
E/riel’s say they’re close friends and have a deep connection, but we didn’t get anything about that. Not if they had deep/meaningful conversations or spent a lot of time together. It’s in literal text that it had never gone anywhere beyond glances and brushes of their fingers. If Elain was trying to be a spy (like e/riel’s love to claim) we would have also gotten something about that. And the necklace was a generic gift. It was superficial. If it wasn’t, he wouldn’t have given it away. The necklace wasn’t anything deep.
“Azriel and Elain want each other,” all I got was Azriel wanted her out of lust and jealousy and we don’t know if Elain wanted him out of lust/as a rebound for Graysen or if she actually has romantic feelings for him. We didn’t get her pov so we don’t know. Azriel didn’t stand up to Rhys or say that he’s starting to develop romantic attraction to her. If he told Rhys that (or alluded to having genuine feelings), I’m sure his brother would’ve been more understanding. There were some people who actually shipped e/riel, but after reading the bonus chapter got completely turned off from it. I think that’s saying something. Sorry for the long ask and rant.
putting my response under the keep reading cause it's long
I agree with your points. Yeah acosf, it wasn't kinky i don't believe it was ever intended to be it's just more adult and more sexually forward then the rest of acotar. There's dirty talk but that's not really kinky. Manon and Dorian's scenes in EOS/KOA you know they were up to kinky shit cause the text leads into it. Yeah it's not going to be as detailed as acosf because the entirety of tog is young adult. If it was adult we'd all need cold showers after every Manorian sex scene lmao.
Azriel was never in love with Elain. Never. It's never stated that he even has a slight romantic thought towards her. He literally just wants to fuck her thats it. End of story. Rhys even asks him this in Az's bonus chapter and Azriel hadn't thought beyond that night nor the political implications or anything. He just wants sex. Mind blowing concept but romance and sex are not mutually exclusive. You can fuck someone without being in love or without any romantic feelings whatsoever. Nesta slept with many Illyrians didn't mean she was in love with them. Helion has like nightly orgies doesn't mean he wants to date them. Sex is sex. It's not that deep.
From the context of EVERY acotar book, it seems to be that Az and Elain are just acquaintances, they're not that close. He, like the rest of the IC see the surface of Elain and nothing more. I hate that necklace for so many reasons let me tell you nonnie. First, the meaning behind a frozen flower. It's stuck in time just like that. Never growing, never learning. Which is literally what Elain is doing. Him giving her that necklace says to me that he's okay with her being like this. Never growing and finding herself the way Feyre did and Nesta was in the process of. I also hate it cause of the regifting. Sir, my guy, why are we doing this? You're suppose to be the male who doesn't need to resort to poetry and shit yet you're regifting a necklace? okay.
Azriel doesn't stand up to Rhys because he knows he's right. Risking so much, wanting to kill Lucien and leave Elain feeling like a part of her is missing til the end of her days. And for what? to get his dick wet? His view point when it comes to Elain is selfish. Regardless of how she feels towards him. Like you pointed out we have zero clues if Elain just wants sex or if she's crushing and possibly wanting a romance. If it was the later I feel so bad for her she deserves better than some male who doesn't want the same.
If Elain and Azriel were to be romantic in the books everything would be different. His bonus chapter he would've said something about his feelings, their friendship and flirting would be on page for the reader to see this. But it's not. Sorry not sorry. E/riel is a fanon ship and it will always be a fanon ship. That's not a bad thing. There's a lot of amazing fanon ships out there. For some reason alot of, not all, but aloot of E/riels seem to think their ship being fanon is a bad thing.
It's wild because no one is telling them they can't ship it. Just that it's not a canon endgame. Before acosf and the infamous Az chapter I thought, in a fanon sense, the pairing would be cute. I never thought they'd be canon. Not once. But since that bonus chapter it just gave me the ick so bad that I had to leave the ship behind.
Don't apologize for the rant! Please rant away!

*New* A Peaceful Night - Lysaedion
And THEN some other fics I’m planning on releasing (no timeline):
My unpublished Morridwen
If it’s done soon enough for me to start the Twelve Days of Christmas early then you’ll get this as an X-mas Day treat.
A ToG version of “Watching”
This won’t just be swapping names around like other alternative versions of fics I’ve released, this will have all new sex acts and the pairing chosen as the lead will have an entirely distinct smut scene.
All of this is while I work on TSON. As I’ve said, I’m putting several chapters in the bank before I start posting again. You’ve all been so incredibly supportive, kind, and patient with me while I get everything back on track. I honestly didn’t think my hiatus would last 6 months but I needed every minute of that to pull myself back together.
TL;DR: I love you all and so I’m showering you with sex.

So, I finished Kingdom of Ash - thoughts
Of course, I loved it (though my favorite book in the series is still either Book 3 or Book 5.)
1. It confirms to me that this series is very much Anne Bishop meets JRR Tolkien, which is a very very good thing.
2. I was not particularly surprised that no main characters died. She just finished her fae trilogy without killing off anyone important and while she was always more willing to kill people off in ToG (Sorcha, Nehemia), she’s still not too big on it. Which is just as well since (a) I am not a fan of grimdark and (b) this series started out as YA, even if it morphed into something else, so for her to go Queen Death would be weird.
3. I’ve seen mixed reactions on the end for Manorian but I loved it. I loved that it was open but hopeful, because both Dorian and Manon are only now beginning to heal but are still both much too broken to enter into a functional relationship. But I loved the feel of “one day...” (But then I loved the Cal x Mare similar ending in Red Queen which many hated. I think I am just a fan of hopeful, healing but open endings for messed up characters.)
4. Aedion swearing the oath to Aelin was the one thing in the book that made me sniffle. I love their brother-sister thing. Or maybe I am just an Aedion fangirl. All of his parts of the novel were my favorite because they were the ones with the least hope and sheer determination to just die well out of the rest - his army had no amazing powers to end the bad guys, they were trapped and on the edge of death and still fought.
5. Speaking of Aedion, I am seeing him getting a lot of grief for how he treated Lysandra in the first half but I don’t feel that way myself. Aedion has always been a rather absolute “black and white” type of person - that is what allowed him to remain so unswervingly loyal. And to be told that the person you love perpetrated such a life-changing, insane switch which also depended on you eventually being some sort of a stud without even having the courtesy to warn/consult beforehand? I may not have lashed out with bitter words but I wouldn’t get over that easily either.
6. I can’t believe I am about to say it, but out of all of the dudes in this book, the one I’d personally like for a husband is Chaol. I just want to read about him and Yrene and the baby and his mom/brother coming to stay with them and and and and.
7. The battle scenes were pretty good. I tend to read a lot of military fantasy subgenre so this was a pleasant surprise. It also confirms to me that this long ceased to be a YA series - between the sheer length, the amazing amounts of gruesomeness, the fact that all the characters are adults in every meaning of the word, and the massive epic battles, this is basically a “normal” high fantasy novel. Which is awesome because when written well, that’s my favorite thing.
8. AELIN I LOVE YOU. YOU AND ROWAN ARE RELATIONSHIP GOALS.
9. Elide’s proposal to Lorcan was lovely and amazing and so them. I love that he bound his lifespan to hers and that they are mates but I also hope that she lives extra long because of her witch blood so the end is not too soon. I think they are my fave OTP in this series, by the end. Oh, and also I was a fan of their fade to black love scene because much as I love SJM, sex scenes are not really her forte. (I much preferred implied and indirect descriptions here to the explicit but kinda not good descriptions in ACOTAR.)
10. Fenrys being the one to kill Maeve is the definition of poetic justice.
11. Rowan asking permission to touch Aelin after her captivity. That is all.
12. Dorian’s father being redeemed insofar as it’s possible. I am glad because I hope it brings some peace to Dorian.
13. Now off to try to find something 1/5th as engrossing as this series.

Is sex even all that great if the partner doesn't really touch you and you have to be on top for fear of not being in control. And like, Dorian finished inside of her, but is it something she only let him do? I'm sure others have too but... in my mind it seems like an un-Manon like
[4] thing. I can’t imagine Manon wanting to carry a witchling, therefore I didn’t think she would let a man do that. Also, if she’s always been on top, then her first time was also her being on top. Which probably must have been uncomfortable. And ( I think) a scary situation [5] For someone who is a virgin and is not doing the act with someone she trusts. And since we know Aelin felt some pain her first time… we know Sarah keeps that kind of thing in mind. As opposed to others writers who just make it seem like it does hurt ( I wouldn’t know tho) [6] Okay, I’m done. ☺️
——
No, sex with selfish partners is the worst. It’s not easy to bring a vulva/vagina to orgasm. Most of the time, people with vulva/vaginas have to do it themselves. It’s totally fine and generally works better, but there is usually a build up to sex. Kissing and touching and undressing and more touching and then the actual act of sex. And I have a hard time fitting that all in with Manon’s character with random guys. So I think she wanted to get off, so she found dude who were willing. She maintained control, and then it was over after she found her release. I think maybe once or twice (possibly with that Fae male she mentions in HoF) Manon found a partner who was not terrified of her with whom she could let her guard down. But in the case of the Fae male she mentions in HoF, that DID NOT go so well. So I HC that he was the first and last time Manon ever let her guard down during sex. And I don’t think she had sex after that. (I can’t remember if she said that or not, I think she told us that thought. That he was the last time she’d taken anyone to bed.)
And I have often wondered about the coming inside thing. Because one of the first true things we learn about Manon is that she likes to keep her body clean. A WEIRD statement to make if you have never been abused. And I have this weird HC that Manon could be the first witch to give birth in the Wastes after the curse is broken, and that witches have high miscarriage rates because they have sex with random dudes and not with men they love or who love them. And this would fit right in with both of those thoughts. We have no idea what they use for birth control in Erilea, but I agree. That Manon was likely using some form of birth control when she was sexually active, and that she didn’t with Dorian.
And I have also thought about Manon’s first time and all the headcanons I come up with are not very nice. I could see the Matron “selling” the newly of age witches. I could see it being a cultural thing where the newly 16 year old witches are sent out and told not to return until they’ve lost their virginity (and probably killed their partner). Or something like, the Matron told her that she needed to start bedding men if she wanted to be heir, so Manon went out with the pressure of knowing she needed to have sex to please the Matron, and that’s just heartbreaking. Because I bet no matter how it went down, she had to keep reaffirming to herself that she was heartless and soulless, and that sex means nothing, that it’s human and “soft hearted” to see it as anything but, and that feelings of vulnerability are beneath her and all that. I bet it was a fucked up situation that would constitute rape in our culture.

omg.. so i just finished KOS and omg dorian and manon are literally my FAVORITE??? like i cant get over their sex scenes. omg i can just imagine in the morning when they got up and the 13 are like LOL omg how was ur night manon HAHAH, why do u think manon is sooooo drawn to dorian? i mean hes hot af but besides that? sorry this was so long but damn im obsessed haha and LAST THING OMG THEIR CUDDLES AFTER IM SHAKING
WELCOME FRIEND! WE ARE MANORIAN TRASH TOGETHERRRRR
no joke, i’m pretty sure i read that scene a hundred times trying to picture it from each of their perspectives because yes it’s HOTHOTHOT but it’s also just an incredibly emotional scene for them??!! the vulnerability and passion they could not speak of manifested physically and it was just so beautiful and just so fitting i probably, most likely, definitely cried.
and dorian with pulling that leg higher got us all fanning ourselves letsbereal
the thirteen with this look though “😏” they most certainly had fun teasing manon with that or at least asterin, vesta, and sorrel ;D
THAT CUDDLE SCENE CAUGHT ME SO OFF-GUARD I ALMOST CHOKED LIKE SOFTSOFTSOFTSOFTSOFTTTTT and for manon to initiate it and for dorian to just tuck her into him like it’s normal (which it pretty much is, that wasn’t the first time he held her) but by gods what a moment
and don’t you apologise! i loveee this, keep ‘em coming! manorian is LIFE
and as for that question, here’s my answer to a previous anon that asked the exact same thing #legends
