8. Because I'm the Shield - RotTMNT

Tensions are high, but these boys stay silly.

“I don’t understand why you always do this, Raph!”

“Why I always do this? What about you, Leo!?”

Halfway through his wrist stretches with Donnie, Mikey almost does nothing when the shouting starts. Raised voices a familiar refrain in their still-too-new home. But Donnie’s grip on his forearm tightens with the crescendo, and they’re off.

It's been weeks since their last fight. What went wrong? They’ve been nearly inseparable. Has it just been simmering under the surface all this time? Has it already come to blows? They're both still healing. What if they hurt themselves? What if they hurt each other?

His head is spinning too fast to follow the argument, but he doesn't miss when Raph thunders, “BECAUSE I’M THE SHIELD!”

His brain conjures possible scenes in the split second before Donnie throws the door open to Leo's room. Leo out of bed antagonising Raph. Raph's fists encased in glowing red. Even an image drawn from the deepest, darkest, most afraid, and shameful part of himself of Raph wrapping his hand around Leo’s neck and—

They find none of those things.

No brothers brawling. No sparking mystic energy. No severely injured turtles disregarding bed rest.

“Is that,” his voice squeaks, panic melting into confusion, “my Monopoly Nintendo Collector's Edition?”

Raph looks sheepishly at the board game set on a fold-up card table, then back at them. “Maybe?"

Mikey wilts.

“Monopoly,” Donnie repeats, tugging Mikey's still-held forearm to keep him upright, his own shoulders sinking with relief. “An activity that totally explains why you were screaming at each other.”

“Oh!" Raph aims wide, watery eyes right at Mikey. "Raph's so sorry, buddy, we didn’t mean to—”

While an indignant Leo informs them, "Raph won't let me play as Link’s shield!”

Raph doesn't miss a beat. "Cause that’s Raph’s token!"

“I don’t see your name on it.”

“I always play with it!”

“We’ve played maybe twice.”

Mikey supposes it’s still pretty similar to their usual arguments.

“BOYS!” Raph’s tail smacks the table, scattering Power-ups across the floor. “NO YELLING IN THE HOUSE!”

“OKAY! SORRY, DAD!”

“BLUE.”

Leo snickers. A semi-satisfied harrumph following Raph’s stage-whispered apology.

“Ignoring that blatant double standard,” grumbles Donnie. He releases Mikey to collect the wayward game pieces. “If you haven’t even started yet, we may as well join you. Nardo, give me the bank.”  

“No, thanks.”

"Oh, I'm sorry. That was not a request—"

Mikey takes a deep breath. Letting his emotions settle into something soft and distant. Raph’s big, sad eyes are back, and his biggest brother opens his arms for a hug.

“You good, big man?”

Wrapped so completely in Raph's arms, Mikey almost feels like they're in a world all their own.

But they're not.

The twins are scuffling over fake cash on Leo’s bed, mindful of injuries but giving it their all. Dad’s cooking dinner in the kitchen, something heady and umami drifting through the open door. Mikey takes these feelings of warmth and safety and presses them into his skin.

He breaks away, smiling. “You bet I’m good! So good I’m boutta kick your shell in Monopoly!”

Raph grins indulgently. Mikey turns to reach for a token, winking at Leo. “I call the shield!”

“RAPH’S THE SHIELD.”

Thoughts on this?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 2024 is even a little optimistic in terms of a release for Stranger Things 5.

I know right now there's been this assumed expectation that it will release in 2024, and that's definitely still possible! But from what we've seen, no one from the production, neither the Duffers, the cast, nor Netflix themselves have said 2024 will be the year s5 releases, definitively. (If I remember correctly, when asked in an interview about s5 coming out in 2024, Noah dodged the question and said that they want it to be really good and are going to try to get it out as soon as they can... if anything he was trying to hint here that fans should be prepared that it might not be 2024, but that's okay bc that means that quality is being considered over a speedy release).

Again there have been talks about it, and I'm sure that's what they're shooting for. But they don't seem to be making any official statements about 2024 being a for sure thing. Because I mean, how could it be?

Covid did a really big number on the industry, especially production for ST4. Not only that but workers are starting to unionize and fight back against long hours, shitty wages and unsafe working conditions.

And so there's this unknown looming. Could the global pandemic reach a point that causes the industry to come to a halt again? Could there be a strike that stops productions from filming, including ST5? There's just a lot of unforeseen factors to keep in mind.

Our perception of how fast shows should be cranking out between seasons, are from a rose-tinted lens and honestly a little bit naive. We're not taking into account that those same expectations we have are based on an industry that has thrived off of malpractice for decades.

So, would I be mad if ST5 came out in 2025? No.

Also important to note that this is the end. I know that a lot of fans are impatient and just want the final season ASAP, but even so, when we do get it, it's over after that. There's nothing else to look forward to for fans when it comes to these characters. Arguably, hiatus will be the time we'll look back on and miss most when this is all over. So enjoy theorizing and analyzing during the wait while you still can!

And again, let's keep in mind, a sooner release means they might have to rush and make quick decisions that impact the story negatively, with them settling for results that could have been better had they had more time. Whereas a later release, or at least later than we may have hoped, will probably mean they got the essential time they needed and therefore a lot better quality for the final cut.

David Harbour said late last year that filming will start in the summer. Noah just mentioned a few times recently that he starts filming in May. But it was also mentioned in an interview promoting WYFSTW with Finn that filming would be starting in March.

Who knows for sure right now, it'll probably require us getting closer to the start to know. But the good news is once filming starts, they'll tell us! However, this does bring up an important aspect of all of this that fans also don't seem to take into consideration, which is scheduling.

The main cast are all hot commodities now, with most of them having multiple productions to film in one single year. And so, imagine trying to get about a dozen A-B listers schedule's to overlap? It's not easy.

Though from what I've read, David is dealing with schedule issues because he's filming another movie at the same time as s5. And Noah specifically mentioned school being a factor when he brought up filming starting in May for him. And so it's possible overall production for s5 could be starting sooner than we think, with some main cast-members starting earlier/later than others.

I think the main good news (everyone cheer) is that we have no new characters for s5. And so I think that will allow filming to take a little less time. S1 was a lot smaller scale in terms of the characters focused on, with production going from September 2015 to early 2016 and with a release in July that same year. But s1 was also very very small scale in comparison to what s5 will be. While filming for s5 will definitely be shorter than s4 in terms of over overall running time, it'll still be longer and just in general bigger than s1.

I'm gonna take an educated guess and say at least 9 months for filming s5, but it's possible they could run up to a year because of scheduling issues, unexpected delays, unforseen events, with some cast-members potentially working earlier/later than the majority of the production. Best case scenario, filming could be done by December 2023, and that's taking into account filming may indeed not start fully until May 2023. This would give them roughly 8-10 months of filming.

And that's not even including post-production for VFX, which is likely going to take upwards of 6 months at least, because the upside down is expected to be a main setting for the story in s5, meaning a lot more time spent working on visual effects despite filming already being complete. Then there's editing and all that good stuff. And don't even get me started on marketing (they're watching us rn taking notes for ST5 social media promo... Smile and wave boys!)

Again, I do think 2024 is possible, though it would have to be later in 2024. Summer 2024 is still a little too optimistic, but I wont rule it out bc they love summer releases.

March 22nd on the other hand, is very much pushing it, as they'd only be like 2 months into VFX at that point.

Though, I could see the vision of this, assuming it released in 2025 (lands on a Saturday that year, but still according to new theories March 21st is potentially an important date related to Henry/Vecna and it's the day s4 started the story off, so that's possible!)

March 21st 2025 would be my ideal date if they had to push it further out to a 2025 release. And that is a big possibility, which is why I think they're not out here comfortably sticking to a year right now.

It's also likely that when we find out the official year of release, we'll get a poster potentially or some kind of short teaser hyping up the final season.

ST5 2025 is kind of iconic. But I guess we'll just have to see!

Even though I don't think March 22nd 2024 is possible, it would be cool to get some major news on that day, like an exact release date for the final season maybe? That would be birthdaygate proof in and of itself.

So I’m gonna say one thing about the New show and leave it alone — I was a lil disappointed in the music. Not the main theme, Williams is always a master, but the music design overall really didn’t hit it for me. I see why they made some of the choices they did, but they didn’t have quite enough impact.

The EPA announced new emission standards with the goal of having more than half of new cars and light trucks sold in the US be low/zero emission by 2032. One of the most significant climate regulations in the nation’s history, it'll eliminate 7 billion tons of CO2 emissions over the next 30 years. It's part of President Biden's goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 on the road to eliminating them totally by 2050.

President Biden canceled nearly 6 Billion dollars in student loan debt. 78,000 borrowers who work in public sector jobs, teachers, nurses, social workers, firefighters etc will have their debt totally forgiven. An additional 380,000 public service workers will be informed that they qualify to have their loans forgiven over the next 2 years. The Biden Administration has now forgiven $143.6 Billion in student loan debt for 4 million Americans since the Supreme Court struck down the original student loan forgiveness plan last year.

Under Pressure from the administration and Democrats in Congress Drugmaker AstraZeneca caps the price of its inhalers at $35. AstraZeneca joins rival Boehringer Ingelheim in capping the price of inhalers at $35, the price the Biden Admin capped the price of insulin for seniors. The move comes as the Federal Trade Commission challenges AstraZeneca’s patents, and Senator Bernie Sanders in his role as Democratic chair of the Senate Health Committee investigates drug pricing.

The Department of Justice sued Apple for being an illegal monopoly in smartphones. The DoJ is joined by 16 state attorneys general. The DoJ accuses Apple of illegally stifling competition with how its apps work and seeking to undermining technologies that compete with its own apps.

The Senate confirmed President Biden's nomination of Nicole Berner to the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. On behalf of SEIU she's worked on cases supporting the Affordable Care Act, DACA, and against the Defense of Marriage act and was part of the Fight for 15. Before working at SEIU she was a staff attorney at Planned Parenthood. Berner's name was listed by the liberal group Demand Justice as someone they'd like to see on the Supreme Court. Berner becomes one of just 5 LGBT federal appeals court judges, 3 appointed by Biden. The Senate also confirmed Edward Kiel and Eumi Lee to be district judges in New Jersey and Northern California respectively, bring the number of federal judges appointed by Biden to 188.

Kalim's ideal type would be...

Someone who enjoys having fun. And I'm not referring only to his parties. Kalim is a free spirit who just loves the good things in life: from good food to the Twisted Wonderland equivalent of Monopoly, Kalim loves having fun. And how else to enjoy these good things better than with someone who matches his energy?

Someone who can keep him out of trouble. It's no secret Kalim marches to the beat of his own drum. That, mixed with his clumsiness, makes him a neon sign for problems, and Jamil can't always rescue him from all of his hiccups. No one is telling you to fight a potential kidnapper, but he'll be eternally grateful just because you stopped him in time from putting the wrong ingredient in his potionology assignment.

Someone who encourages him to do things by himself. While Kalim likes how Jamil is forced to be mostly glued at his side, it's not necessarily healthy. Try helping him put on his turban by himself! Or maybe have him make some soup together with you! You'll get some suspicious looks from Jamil in the process, but it might help both of them in the long run. Kalim will surely love trying to be more independent!

Someone who understands his attachment to Jamil. I'm not saying it's impossible to feel jealous of Jamil for how much his existence is important to Kalim, but it's not something for you to interfere with. Even if you tried, that would be a hard boundary for Kalim. He loves Jamil like a brother and he would never betray him.

Someone who goes out of their way to notice him. Being used to being overlooked in favour of someone else, he would be surprised if you praised his dancing skills, complimented his wit or chatted mostly with him instead of Kalim when you bumped into them in the hallways. It will take a while for him to understand your intentions, but he'll eventually admit he has noticed the way you notice him first, while hinting at how happy it made him feel.

Someone who is a bit of a schemer. Jamil is not the epitome of morality, and is not afraid of using underhanded means to get what he wants. He won't let anything get in his way; not even you, if the situation is dire enough. Jamil will just roll his eyes at any morality speech, it will do nothing for him. Why not just let him be? Even better, make him worse?

Someone who understands they won't always be his first priority. The sad truth is that even Jamil himself can't be his own main priority due to the duty he has to fulfil as a member of the Viper family. As much as he'd want to be able to put you above Kalim, he can't. He knows it will be a certain deal breaker for some, but if you want to stay, he'll do his best to pay you back for your understanding.

Someone who can show him the world. Jamil is a dreamer who, unfortunately, is stuck to dreaming. Even if he can't indulge himself too often, you can still feed into his imagination and help him dream. Keep telling him about eating apple specialities in Harveston together, or about seeing the famous shipwrecks in the Coral Sea, or even about your honeymoon in the Kingdom of Heroes. He won't be able to join your fantasies too soon, but he loves how you want him to hope for better.

"hallo!" she beamed adorably, landing softly on top of you as you smacked her shoulder. "you be careful!" you warned, lightly tapping her knee which sat by your hip. "i am always careful." she rolled her eyes playfully.

"did you just imagine that the lounge was the barrier at that match? up and over goes the tiny tank!" you teased, your girlfriends face blushing bright red at the memory as she flopped down and hid her face in your neck with a small groan, mumbling a string of german into your skin.

"i was trying to get the ball." she huffed, pulling her head back with a frown as you repeatedly pecked her lips, determined to rid them of her grumpy pout. "i'm so glad we can do this again." you sighed happily, arms wrapping around her as the two of you lay down in a tight hug.

leah progressing well with her own recovery meant your sister was finally no longer in need of a carer and had moved back to her own place, leaving yours once more a sanctuary of peace and quiet. and it meant your girlfriend, who could now drive again, could come and go whenever she pleased.

"no more mum and dad yelling at us about keeping a door open." laura nodded in agreement, your nose scrunching up as her silver blonde strands of hair ticked your face. "viv is definitely the dad." you hummed, slipping a hand up lauras hoodie and gently scratching her back feeling her arch happily into you.

"no i think it is beth. viv does all of the cooking and the cleaning and the work. beth just...well she is beth." laura struggled to get out her words, opting for a shrug as you hummed.

"you know liebling there is something else we have not done for too long." laura sat up, cheeky grin on her face as she quickly tied her hair up into a messy bun. "hmmm, played monopoly?" you teased, the austrian shaking her head.

"nooo, guess again." she whispered, lips ghosting yours. "hmmm, no i can't think of anything." you smiled as she rolled her eyes. "lau!" you squealed as suddenly you were over her shoulder and she was marching off to your bedroom.

"laura no put me down! baby your knee is still healing!" you worried, grunting softly as she did as you asked and dropped you onto your bed. "don't do that!" you warned her with a scowl, sitting up and pushing her.

"why? i am strong. tiny tank, no?" she flexed her arms, rolling up her sleeves and making a series of funny faces, determined to have you smile again. "don't be cute. i'm serious, i love you and i don't want anything else bad to happen." you spoke a little more seriously now, your girlfriend dropping down beside you.

"i am sorry love, i will be careful." she promised, moving your hair behind your ear as you nodded. "your english is getting really good." you complimented, causing her cheeks to flush a rosy pink. "you help a lot." she poked your own cheeks with her finger and a shy smile.

"wish i could say the same about your german. terrible!" laura sighed as you scoffed. "it's getting better!" you defended, laura withholding the urge to tease you for how much you looked like your sister with your eyebrows knitted into a grumpy frown.

"okay." with that she spoke a few sentences to you in german, clearly awaiting your response. "yes?" you guessed slowly, laura rolling her eyes. "you do not even try!" your girlfriend laughed, kissing away your pout as you had done to her just moments ago.

"german is hard!" you whined with a huff. "kiss me. do not need any language for that." laura grinned leaning in to connect your lips to hers again.

but right as she tugged your body to melt back into hers, and her tongue starting to explore the roof of your mouth did you hear your front door bang suddenly.

"who is that?" laura pulled away as both of you looked out of the bedroom, the front door popping open as a familiar bundle of blonde hair stumbled through. "leah?" you yelled out, groaning as your sister called back from the kitchen.

"oh hi laura! i thought we could have a pizza night?" your sister leaned in your doorway, your girlfriend giving her a friendly wave as you pushed her hand down with a frown. "get out of my house!"

"no! i miss your cooking." leah admitted, kicking her feet and staring down at the floor. "laura and i have plans leah." you hinted, glaring at her as the blonde only rolled her own eyes.

"you can have sex all you want once i leave, i won't even tell beth and viv. just make me dinner and i'll be out of your hair!" leah grinned causing you to groan again, the older girl backing away and you heard her throw herself down onto your lounge and flick on the tv, far too at home for your liking.

"i like pizza." laura smiled, grabbing your defeated face in her hands and smoothing out your eyebrows with her thumbs. "she is your sister. come on!" the blonde encouraged, taking your hands and pulling you to your feet as you collapsed into her, burying your face in her shoulder with a deep sigh.

You've spoken at length about how the Lancer setting is just wildly incongruent with what the authors think it is at length, and I agree wholeheartedly. My question is, largely for the purpose of if I ever want to run a game of it again, how would you make the setting carry that tone the authors think it has without too terribly much rewriting? Say, from the point of 'there was a revolution to overthrow seccom'? I love the 'gallant warriors of liberation in giant robots' and would like it if the game actually was that.

To those who still harboued the hopes of revolutionary change, this was a loud and clear signal: the war had not ended. The revolution was not over.

The All-Galaxy Revolutionary Front as it exists now is a set of strange bedfellows. The disciplined combat battalions of the Communist Party fly in perfect harmony, distinguishable by their red battle flags, mass-produced in collectivized forges with reverse-engineered corpo tech. The motley individual oddities that the anarchists call their mechs, their open-source physics-bending HORUS peculiarities, strike unpredictably, in and out of ThirdComm's sight. But the one thing which binds them all, as they fight for the liberation of the peripheral worlds, for the wealth of mines and factories to enrich the people of the planets they're built on instead of fueling ever-replenishing consumption in the distant Core, is that they still have those old revolutionary dreams.

This is what it means to be a Lancer: to be willing to struggle. To acknowledge that the revolution is not over.

Kaiju Week in Review (March 24-30, 2024)

A coworker asked tonight me how Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire measured up to Godzilla Minus One, and I responded, "Almost as good, but in a completely different way." If you like monsters (and if you're following me I have to assume you do), see it, no questions asked. There's about a million of them and they're all delightful. The franchise has long struggled to recapture the specific charms of the Showa era, and I think this comes closer than any of them. (It's the climactic tag-team battle... also Mothra returning to knock some sense into Godzilla). Pure junk food, but you can't just watch Oppenheimer all the time.

Godzilla x Kong tore up the box office this weekend, performing well above expectations. Its $80 million opening Stateside was the second-best of the Monsterverse (after Godzilla). It added another $114 million internationally for the best overall opening of the (still-young) year. China was a big part of that with $44 million; giant monster movies are among the few Hollywood imports that still play well there. With a $135 million budget, lowest of the Monsterverse by a wide margin, it's a matter of when, not if, Legendary announces the next one.

The Oxford English Dictionary has added an entry for tokusatsu, defined as "A genre of Japanese film or television entertainment characterized by the use of practical special effects, usually featuring giant monsters, transforming robots, and masked and costumed superheroes." It's part of a group of 23 freshly-acknowledged Japanese loan words; unclear if the timing is coincidental. Oh, and if you're curious, they added kaiju in 2018. As someone who remembers when the only English-speakers who used either word were in fandom, it's pretty wild to see.

French company Extralucid Films will release Gappa on Blu-ray in June. The impressive-sounding bonus features are naturally all in French, but there's one that transcends language: 17 minutes of extra monster footage. The U.S. version of Gappa, Monster from a Prehistoric Planet, only has about 7 minutes worth of shots absent from the Japanese version, so I'm pretty curious about the other 10. It's also the first time this footage has been released in HD (Tokyo Shock blew it in 2020).

Season 2 of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again is indeed receiving official English subtitles, starting the same day as the Japanese premiere, April 10. Godzilla Battle Line also added a hilariously busted joint Chibi Godzilla-Chibi Mechagodzilla unit, along with a Destoroyah variant. (Maybe Godzilla x Kong units are next month?)

A new Monsterverse movie means new books to buy. The prequel comic Godzilla x Kong: The Hunted is out already (not recommended), but officially you'll have to wait until April 23 for the novelization and May 14 for the art book. Chalk that up to the late release date change, maybe. Unofficially, people are already getting the novelization from Amazon, because they're a monopoly that can afford to pay the fines from publishers for breaking street date. The audiobook version also released on the same day as the film. I don't have intel on what it adds and changes yet; adding everything from the film itself to Wikizilla is all I can handle right now.

The San Francisco Giants are offering a Godzilla VIP Experience on May 17, a long-overdue acknowledgement of the savior of their city. Tickets are almost gone, though I think it's a shame that the promotion is opt-in to begin; what happened to giving these tchotchkes out to the first thousand fans? Well, figures that they'd make getting merch of the Minus One Godzilla in the States a hassle.

It’s like the most childlike thing i’ve noticed about them is their sense of wonder. They are the explorers and wanderers. They can be slightly rebellious in terms of their curiosity. Aries moons have such an amazing way of taking you out of your head. They’re like come on let’s go. They help people live in the moment. Aries moons never take a moment for granted, they have such a untouchable appreciation for experiences. Aries moons are also very riveting to talk to. Their expressions and gestures are so fascinating. They get so lost in their words, they can’t control how they express this passion. Aries moons are accepting, the things you think make you weird, they love. They have a way of making people let loose and just be themselves. These people value authenticity, it’s extremely important to them. They can see fake so easily. They can be in the worst situation and they’ll see a way out. They can be sensitive in regards to their passions or the people they love. So if an aries moon is talking about something they love please don’t sigh or rush them. So why are aries moons expressive? Well aries moons sort of have to express themselves. The reason for this is because they can have boiling point moments if they don’t. This is usually triggered if they feel dismissed or belittled. The worst thing you can do is dismiss an aries moon. These people are LOYAL. This is specifically in terms of friendship. They will defend you in any situation. They’ll be at the rescue if you’re in danger or you need help. This is not an easy moon placement to have. But as the aries moon gets older, they usually learn to channel their (varying) explosiveness towards something they’re passionate about. They just feel so intensely. I would say aries moons are in the top 3 most intense feeling moons. Aries moons don’t hold grudges. It doesn’t mean they’ll keep you around no matter what you do. However, they move on emotionally. They can be competitive too, this varies from the aries moons who actually compete in every area of their existence😭, to the aries moons who need to win every board game. Try playing monopoly with them🌝. Aries moons march to the beat of their own drum, don’t bother trying to tell an aries moon what to do. A lesson some aries moons need to learn is to be perhaps a bit softer or understanding with people. If you’re a slow person this can trigger an aries moon very easily😭😭 aries moons are very meticulous about who they open up to. This doesn’t mean they’re cold, they’re far from it. But they don’t just open up to anyone. They can be very closed off with their deepest feelings.

The first things you’ll hear about any taurus placements is comfort, luxury, food blah blah. We’re gonna go beyond that today and really peel those layers. Taurus moons are quite parental, almost territorial. When they care about someone, they are very protective and defensive over the person. chaos personified😭 i’m joking, i’m joking. Gemini moons never fail to surprise me. Gemini moons are known to be crackheads or bubbly people etc. But i want to dig and see what else there is beyond their exterior. These people are very mentally stimulating, their conversations are always so interesting. I never get bored talking to a gemini moon. They are fun to be around, they make people feel more childlike. They also have a reputation for being childish. But i think it’s important to establish the difference between childlike and childish. They have an uninhibited sense of wonder about anything and everyone. Their mind works on overdrive. They like to knows lots of facts about random things. They’re also intelligent, this isn’t limited to grades or academic achievement. I’m talking specifically about intelligence in terms of how much they know about different topics. I lied🌝 Anyway this is their attitude towards difficulties or obstacles. They make people see another perspective, a more positive outlook. Gemini moons are hilarious. Some of them lack in the filter department so it’s like thoughts=🗣. I really appreciate this about them though, i find it endearing. Gemini moons are authentic, they don’t particularly care about meeting any standards and particularly not societal standards. I also noticed they’re good at figuring out how to get to places. Similar to taurus moons in terms of stability and familiarity. Cancer moons like to keep long term connections and friendships. They usually have at least a friend they stay friends with from childhood. They like the idea of forming stable and genuine connections. Cancer moons pull through when u need them. If you ever need someone to cover for you or have your back, these are your people. They don’t have underlying motives or intentions and they don’t like this in other people. Cancer moons aren’t openly emotional, despite the ridiculous softie stereotype. However, you’ll spot a cancer moon talking about a memory and you’ll catch them in a wave of nostalgia. This is how you can see beyond their guard. Cancer moons often experience nostalgia. These people are very loyal and when they feel comfortable they’ll express their care for you, perhaps not in words. The libra moons who avoid confrontation at all costs and the libra moons who face it head on ahaha. This could surprise you because whenever you search libra, diplomatic, mediators are the terms you see. People are multi faceted. Just like I wouldn't say all virgo moons are critical, I wouldn't say libra moons are all diplomats. I think the reason why libra moons have a people pleasing reputation, is because they like people to feel comfortable around them and sometimes this can come off as perhaps a bit fabricated. But libra moons are not afraid to uproot diplomacy when it's necessary, not necessarily drama for drama's sake, but more so to prove a point or to defend themselves. At one point or another, every libra moon has to prove themselves, assert themselves. They tend to get taken advantage of in their younger years, but when they get older they learn how to utilise their empathetic nature. I've seen libra moons who really like gothic styles or darker fashion, fishnet tights, velvet, red and black etc. They express themselves artistically either literally or within how they dress, perhaps both. They also can feel very connected to a celebrity or someone who does what they want to do. They can get emotionally attached to someone who moves them emotively. There are 2 types of libra moons in regard to romantic interests. The people who like the elegant, refined, put together, soft or stern partners and the people who love the tattoos and cigarette coming out of the mouth types. I was going to say more, but i'll save it for the 18+ post. Libra moons are curious. They like to learn about the people they love. Libra moons also love to really live in the moment because they tend to get lost in their thoughts sometimes. So if you're someone who can remove them from the expansiveness of their mind, then they're all yours. They are visionaries too. They can be very creatively unique. A healthy libra moon is themselves regardless of who they're with. Libra moons are considerate and genuine. You can confide in these people without worrying about being judged or lectured.

They’re intelligent. They’re slow to open up, so they usually present a more toned down aspect of themselves. They’ve probably read this too much but they’re intense. Now i love this about them, but they can have a similar affect on people as pluto-ascendant. People either revel in this intensity or they can’t handle it. Scorpio 🌑’s are detectives so if they really like you you’ll find them asking you deep questions. This is because they want to know what drives people. The majority of them hate small talk. They can see superficiality from a mile away. They hate how surface level things are nowadays. These people are the type of people to like trauma bonding. Let me explain because i don’t mean it in a negative away. They feel flattered when people open up to them. They like the idea of exposing each other’s wounds and healing them together. They like the more jagged, unfiltered aspects of existence. They want to hear about your deepest trauma rather than superficial shit. These people listen and they don’t insert their own opinions. They have this great aspect of acceptance within their personality. The underdogs, damaged, wounded, hurt, they take them in and protect them. They’ve seen the darker aspects of existence, usually within the form of a mother or something traumatic during childhood. Quite a few of these people have controlling mothers or a mother who was very intense or protective during childhood. Sometimes it can be hard for them to get to know themselves, they have to rummage and separate themselves from the external. They can get lost in their feelings. Their feelings can seem like a weapon out to get them. Most of these people have a hard exterior, you can’t see they feel so much. This is a protective mechanism, because they learned early on that exposing such parts of yourself can be used against you. So they tend to hide this part of themselves, suppressing it deeper and deeper until they completely lose themselves. Then they live in survival mode, tackling daily existence. They’ve usually dealt with an identity crisis at least once. This is because they wonder why they can’t be accepted. Why do they need a facade? They are some of the most resilient people and i really admire them. I feel so accepted by them. I’m surrounded by them so their energy is so familiar. I absolutely adore them. They are so refreshing compared to the superficiality and inauthenticity of society. Once they really like you or feel comfortable talking to you, they’ll randomly ask questions. Ranging from what you had for breakfast to what your biggest regret is ahaha. They usually have some sort of values they don’t sway from. Not necessarily religious or anything, but they have deep beliefs of some sort. They can be suspicious of people, they are not naive in any way. People can see their facade as weakness, but scorpio 🌛 are far from it. These people are investigators so they’ll dig and probe until they reach the point of discovery. They have a way of uncovering the surface. They see what’s beyond it. They are not easily revealing so if you can get close to them feel flattered! They are so loyal. If you want ride or die loyalty these are your people. They are there in any situation, you can rely on them. Also let me just say, their humour is underrated. They always make me laugh ahaha. But let me add these are the people who make jokes about their trauma. These people are authentic and raw. They’ll research anything because they love learning. They are usually drawn to more i won’t say taboo, but raw topics. They want to see the unhinged depths of existence. They can see wounds in other people. They’ll help you face them. These people have a deep understanding of society and just humans in general. They wonder how they fit. They wonder what their role is. They think about their purpose because their passions are important to them.

Of course i’m going to mention the obsessive aspect of their personality. When they really like someone, not just romantically but in general they become obsessive. Let me explain why. Their obsessive behaviour links to their abandonment issues. It’s not a i want to control you obsession, but it’s please stay obsessiveness. Control or power dynamics could have been prevalent in childhood, hence the obsession. This can overwhelm people. But it’s not anything to be ashamed of. They can be massive overthinkers, and depending on other aspects, their thoughts can overwhelm them. They have usually dealt with questioning their self worth and a sort of existential crisis. They can doubt themselves heavily. It takes time for them to realise how powerful they are. And let me tell you they’re powerful. My advice to them would be ignore people underestimating you and assert your power in any way that suits you. They should try to ignore expectation in general. I would also say, prioritise yourself, try not to become everyone’s therapist or trauma dustbin. They also are so insanely loyal, once they commit they would literally die for the person they love. These people are sexy. So sexy. They usually hide their intensity, but it’s always in their eyes. They have the sexiest eyes. They’re so intimidating ahaha. It’s either 👁👁 or 😏. I always find them so attractive. They don’t collectively look scorpionic, it depends on their other placements. They tend to love staring, especially if you intrigue them. I always find their eyes intense.

The fun lovers and thrill seekers. oof. Being around these people is a rollar coaster ride you'll never forget. These people are sizzling and so spontaneous. Fun and fresh and refreshing to be around. Sagittarius moons are thrill seekers, and I don't necessarily mean in a reckless sense, but they like to feel euphoria, a rush of senses. They like anything to stimulate their senses, so you'll probably find a sag moon who's a candle or incense enthusiast. They are go getters. They don't wait for the moment, they are the moment. They can be futuristic thinkers, but they don't usually let the future stifle them. The unknown thrills them. A healthy sag moon has a balanced awareness of the present and future. I'm mentioning this because an unhealthy sag moon disregards the future as a faraway moment and can make reckless decisions because of this. They like to travel and I don't just mean physically, anything can be a journey to them. They like to make an experience out of anything, even mundane stuff. This is why sag moons need a change of routine and spontaneity. Without spontaneity they lose their oomph. Sag moons are experimental, i'm not going to make this 18+, not in this post. But they like to try new things. You'll find a sag moon trying all the tasters at a food market or taking a new route to work, because why not? You've probably heard every sag moon say this. You're like why? And they say, why not? They don't feel the need to have a reason to treat themselves, they just do. This is their motto, just do. Sag moons don't like the idea of possible regret. They have to try anything sparking their curiosity because they feel like time is ahead of them. leading onto my next point. Unhealthy sag moons feel like time is running out, hence why they can sometimes have a reputation for being reckless. Unhealthy sag moons also feel invincible or overly lucky. They are scared of having regrets so sometimes they feel like to need to do it now. A healthy sag moon will take it a step at a time and realise time is always passing, not leaving them, but simply moving. Sag moons like a fast paced existence, they like to surprise themselves. Some sag moons, perhaps most, have a philosophy as their morality. They possibly don't even know this themselves. But every decision a sag moon makes is based on their philosophy, such as do it or make it happen. Does this make sense? Some sag moons also like to read about different things and random topics because they are students. They like to take in different types of information to create a catalogue of random facts and ideas. If you want an honest, blunt opinion these are your people ahaha. They don't withhold their thoughts. Their bluntness is refreshing. They usually have a crazy amount of energy when they're young and could probably bounce off the walls ahaha. But sag moons are great because they express themselves, I've never seen a sag moon who doesn't just express how they feel. They are the neverending wanderers.

These people are very complex if you don't actually understand them. It can almost seem like they don't feel at all from the outside in. But this is an exterior. Not every capricorn moon, but a lot of them, have dealt with a cold adult figure growing up. They could have possibly grown up in an environment where emotions were disregarded or even looked down on. So when they got older they realised emotions can be used against you and they formed this mask. Capricorn moons value tradition and loyalty. They were the kid who was mature for their age and probably got on more with adults. They can be introverted and prefer their own company. Their social battery gets drained pretty easily due to overstimulation. They prefer having a few friends as opposed to a big friendship group. This is because they really value genuine connections. These people HATE small talk. Talk to them about the weather and watch them drift off ahaha. They like to take charge of their own decisions. They hate being told what to do. They hate this because it tells them you undermine their capabilities and intelligence. Capricorn moons don't really tend to cry often and if they do it's because they've held it in and they need to let it out or because they're stressed. They tend to get stressed quite easily, this is because they overthink and their thoughts can race against them sometimes. They have very rigid values and they believe in having a strong sense of identity. They know who they are, even if they hide it, they know who they want to become. They have ideals and expectations for themselves, because a lot of them value success in some form. You'll find a lot of capricorn moons being NT or ST in the MBTI system. I won't ramble on about that, but it's something i've noticed. An unhealthy capricorn moon is scared of their own emotions or people who are outwardly emotionally expressive. But over time they can face this. They tend to be sceptical of people who are emotionally expressive because they don't understand how you can be so open and vulnerable. They value organisation and they probably keep lists or write schedules of some sort. They could also be interested in older partners, because they believe age comes with more experience and awareness of things. This is because they can feel age regressed around people their own age, specifically romantically. They have ideals and they organise these ideals in categories, romance, routine etc. They are extremely categorical. They can be blunt at times, especially if someone annoys them. They can also have a stern energy, and this intimidates people. They are stubborn and unhealthy capricorn moons are relentless with their opinions. They believe in self improvement and they are on a constant journey to success. They can attract people who need their help, or softer people. This intrigues them to an extent but after a while it drives them nuts. More disorganised people tend to be attracted to them. we meet again. You already know how I feel about you. I think aqua moons are the most misunderstood out of the moon signs, like ridiculously stereotyped. So being an aqua moon lover, i'm going to debunk the stupidity i've seen and i'm going to talk about them in depth. Aquarius moons are known to be, I guess, weird or detached. Here's what i'll say. I see these people as highly intelligent, they are bigger picture thinkers, hence why their ideas can seem somewhat abstract or far fetched. They think about the possibilities of reality and the multiple outcomes. Yes they can indulge in conspiracy from time to time. They have an absolutely amazing ability to link patterns, it's something i've noticed. In conversations i'll notice them mentally making links, it's so endearing. This is turning into a love letter and i'm not going to apologise for it ahaha. Anyway going on from my point. These people can take a point from one topic and draw a point from another topic and relate them. It's so specific, but does this make sense? They are so intellectually stimulating. I just can't get enough of their brain. They are iconoclasts and they never take things at face value. They will come to their own conclusions despite what anyone else is saying. They walk away from the crowd and dig their own path. They aren't afraid to disregard deep rooted structures to pursue their own belief system. To me they're simply fascinating and they are so so unique. This is why i hate them being described as weird because they are far from it. Weird is such a shallow way to describe them. Iconoclast, visionary, so on and so on. Much better. Perhaps even eclectic. They have no desire to find a way to make themselves fit in, they just don't bother because they don't need to. They don't care about how they're viewed because they know themselves and that's enough. They don't care for approval. However, i will say these people are human (contrary to popular belief) so during their teens years, being outcasted or unseen can bother them, which can result in reckless behaviour. But this placement ages so nicely. Once they accept themselves, instead of trying to fit the common narrative, they become so powerful. They can take down structures. They are so intelligent. I just love this about them so much. I can go on about this forever ahaha. My next point. The aquarius moons have a no feelings stereotype, this is frankly ridiculous. The reason why they can seem detached is because they don't see a reason to open up to you. If they want to open up, they do. And let me tell you, when they do reveal their emotions, they become even more interesting, even more complex. They can also seem detached because they see their emotions as a puzzle to solve. This can cause them to become observers of their own emotions, instead of actually feeling them. Being an observer is a great trait, but in moderation. A healthy aqua moon has a balance of both feeling and observing. What i love about these people is how they don't hold themselves to societal standards, they understand everyone has their own pace and purpose. I've never had more deep and intellectually stimulating conversations than with an aqua moon. They are simply- no complexly amazing.

hi my darlings. Pisces moons, you dreamboats. I really said dreamboats, wow anyway ahaha. Pisces moons are my idealists, my romanticists. Pisces moons have a reputation of being softies or passive. Here's the thing, these people are empathetic, but they're not dumb. If you try to manipulate their empathy, they aren't afraid to cut ties. Setting boundaries is a lesson for these people to learn and it doesn't come naturally, it's usually learned the hard way. They are usually artistic is some way. If not literally, then their imagination is boundless. They can visualise and create pictures in their mind. These people are usually easily able to astral travel too, so please be careful if you attempt this. They are very receptive to people's emotions, so over time they tend to limit social interaction to conserve their energy. They, just like libra moons, like to imagine scenarios before bed. Yes i'm exposing you ahaha. They like to imagine there's more than what is. You think what is, they think what is possible? Unhealthy pisces moons live in their imagination to escape reality, or use creative vices such as reading etc as an escape. This of course isn't an issue, unless it starts to become a crutch or a hinderance within day to day existence. They are such genuine individuals and they have such positive intentions. Their rose coloured glasses can get in the way sometimes, so a balance of idealism and realism is so important for these people.

I wanted to mention timothee chalamet quickly because I recently watched Dune ahaha. He's a great example of piscean empathy being utilised to his advantage. I mean his acting is impeccable. I always wondered why until I discovered he's a pisces moon and it made so much sense. He has a delicacy about him, despite his saturian placements. This leads onto my next point. These people have a very vulnerable delicacy about them. Unhealthy pisces moons will use this to their advantage to manpiulate. But the healthy pisces moons will embrace this quality instead of seeing it as their hamartia. Their delicacy does not equate to weakness. It takes so much power to be delicate, because vulnerability is powerful. These people are also absorbed in their own bubble ahaha. You’ll be rambling on and they’re on a different planet mentally. I love this about them. I always wonder what they’re thinking about. A lot of these people need loads of sleep to be functioning optimally, but some of them have great difficulty sleeping. It’s a catch 22 sort of situation. These people can also be lucid dreamers. They have a great understanding of people and they make people feel so understood. It’s like you don’t have to explain anything, they just get it. They are very observant, more so because of their empathy. They can feel what you feel, so they often feel changes around other people. They can feel sudden changes in their emotions when they’re around people. A lot of these people have hidden psychic abilities not necessarily how people understand the definition of psychic, but i’m sure you know what i mean. Their eyes are so dreamy. It’s like you can see what they see when you look at them. There’s a whole dreamscape in their eyes. These people are so beautiful, raw, genuine and so real. People like them are hard to come by these days.

I'm so fucking unbelievably happy that the Drought™ has officially dried out! (I suppose Drowned out?)

I don't feel incorrect in saying that in this video, Damien and Angela are the most comfortable I've EVER seen them with each other!

Usually, they get a little stiff around each other. (both of them having issues with people liking/understanding them, so that tracks) but in this last batch of videos they've been really in-line and comfy!

(WARNING! I MIGHT BE ABSOLUTLY INSANE!) VVV

Because they have been so 'in-line' with each other recently (I've noticed it since the Fortnite Monopoly 9 days ago) I caught myself thinking if anything happened recently where they would have bonded more? did they go to something or do something recently that they would have became closer friends??

So it had me thinking about the fact they do shoot weeks, (I believe someone at Smosh said they've been doing them around the beginning of the month, give or take) and Damien's hair looks noticeably different (lil more purple-shampoo-ie) since the Fortnite video. So I believe we've entered early March's batch of videos. (this is all in theory, time wise)

And so, what was happening in beginning of March, that they both would have been at? .....

He loved her with her friends.

“Jay, dude, listen to John B.”

He loved her with his friends, too.

“Ok, would you rather I call then?”

“No, but you should stop–”

“Stop what?” JJ threw his phone down on the couch on the Chateau’s porch, nearly hitting Pope in the shoulder. “Huh? 2 weeks, I haven’t seen her for more than an hour in 2 weeks.” He went to rip his pen for the fifth time in a minute, but John B stood up and threw it to the ground. “What the fuck, man?! John B, I will fucking–”

John B took him by the shoulders and gave him a good shake. “Jay, stop, Stop– Hey! No one wants her back here more than us, right? Yeah. So, listen. You need to give her a minute. You’re texting her, calling her every day, it’s too much for her. She’s too overwhelmed right now, just let her come to you, on her own time. You have to give her the chance to think it through for herself, and yes, she already knows you care so don’t even worry about that, ok?”

“Where are my keys?”

“Quite literally the opposite of what I just told you to do!” But he was already ¾ through the chateau.

“I’m not going to see her!”

“Then who is he….” John B and Pope both asked each other until they came to the realization themselves. “Oooooohhh no.” They tried to chase after him but he had already driven away.

“Should we call Kie?”

“We should call Kie.”

*Ring Ring* *Ring Ring* Kie hit the silence button and texted Pope back I’m at work, I’ll call you later

“Kie,” JJ walked into the Wreck, “You got a minute to talk?”

“Not really, I’m kind of at work right now.”

He made a show of looking around the near-empty restaurant. “There’s no one in your section.”

“I switched with Martha for today.”

“Really?” He pointed behind her to Martha working her own section.

“Fine, but I can’t just leave if I actually want to keep my job.”

“Your boss is literally your dad, you can do whatever you want.”

“That’s not…”

“Yes, it is. Now, can you please sit down so I can talk to you?”

“Fine, whatever.”

She sat with him close to the entrance and he was across from her with his leg shaking and leaning forward over the table. He wasn’t this worried on the ride over.

“If this is about your latest fling, I’m not interested.”

“Do you know how long we’ve been together?”

“Can’t imagine it’s been longer than a month.”

“Since March, Kie, we’ve been together since March. And this, this whole fucking thing that you’re doing, is exactly why I didn’t want to tell you guys. She wanted to, she wanted to tell you guys, she wanted to know you guys, and be friends with you. You were a major dick to her since the moment you saw us together. So all I’m here for is to ask you why?”

“You really don’t know?”

“Obviously not! And I don’t think you do either.”

“That’s–” she looked off to the side instead of at him. “That’s ridiculous, ok? You’re our friend first. You’re our friend first and now she comes here out of nowhere and now you spend all your time with her. It’s like you don’t even care about us anymore. Like she has a fucking monopoly on your time now.”

“No.”

“What do you mean no?”

“I mean that’s not it. You can’t say ‘us’ and ‘our friend’ when you know that Pope and John B like her. They want her around. Just tell me the truth, Kie. Please.”

She looked to the side again then down at the table before finally looking at JJ. “I’m scared. I’m scared of losing you guys, I’m scared of not being the Pongues anymore. Like what happened with me and Sarah Cameron, I’m scared you guys are gonna find other people, and we’re all gonna go our own ways and then all of a sudden we’ll be boring old people and only see each other for stupid…labor day picnics and shit like that. I don’t–I don’t want that.” She was almost crying at this point but swallowed it down by the end of her sentence.

“You think that’s going to happen just by me having a girlfriend?” It nearly sounded like he was laughing, but she knew he was being sincere.

“That’s how it starts. But then we’re all gonna go to college.” He tilted his head and gave her a look. “Some of us are going to college. And we’re all going off on our own, and– ugh.”

He reached across the table and took her hand, “That is a fuckin horrible way of thinking of things, man.” She scrunched her face like that was the least comforting thing to say (because it was). “Just listen, alright? How can you expect good things to happen if all you think is coming is just bad things? If you think that we’re all gonna stop being friends and just become boring adults, then you’re not gonna do anything to stop it. P4L, Kie. You have to trust that we’re going to stay friends.”

“P4L.” He squeezed her hand before she wiped her tears to look around the restaurant to check for new diners.

“You gonna be ok?”

“Yeah, I’ll be fine. But I–” “You need to talk to her.” “–need to talk to her.”

“I can’t tell you to apologize, but I can tell you that I want you to. You’re my friend, Kie, you’re always gonna be my friend. But I love her, I want to be with her for as long as I fucking can, so I’d really like it if you could pull your shit together so she’d actually like being around you guys.”

“Yeah, I know. And I’m, um, I’m sorry to you, too. I was scared and I was jealous when I should have just been happy for you.”

“And not a total bitch to her.”

“Yeah, that too. Uh,” She stood up and brushed off her apron to go seat the next customers. “Look, I gotta get back to work, but I still have her number, if she didn’t block me, and I’ll text her when I get home, but right now you’re in the way, and also you should talk to her before I do because I can’t imagine a bigger boyfriend fuck up than that.”

“I’ll call you.” He clapped her on the shoulder as he rushed out of the restaurant.

“No you won’t.”

“Probably not.”

“JJ, you just burst into my kitchen, you didn’t even use the front door, I think we can lose the formalities.”

He gave your mother a curt nod then continued. “I’d like to see your daughter…Please.”

Y/n’s dad straightened his newspaper, “I do my best not to meddle in her personal affairs.”

“The fuck does that even mean,” JJ whispered to himself, though not very quietly. “That’s a horrible way of doing things.”

“I can either let you two have free reign and figure this out for yourselves, or I can go get the shovel now. Your choice.”

“Free reign, I like free reign, sir.”

“She’s out back.”

“Thank you, sir, uh– ma’am.” Ma’am was always safer, even if he was very much not employed by either of her two very pouge-ish parents.

“Dear,”

“Yes?”

“Your paper’s upside down.” She shook her head affectionately, “When are you gonna let up on the intimidation tactics?”

“You know I’m just giving him a hard time. He’s a good kid, I’m proud of them.”

She was laying on a half broken pool lounge chair, the kind with the plasticy rubber bands going across to hold you up, the one he “stole” from a kook’s pile that was marked for the dump for her, after he at least attempted to fix the broken band. She was watching the neighbors bees buzz around her garden, with the weighted dinosaur on her chest. She must have heard him come outside, since she tilted her head and looked like she were trying to pretend to sleep.

“I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I think you can hear me.�� He sat at the edge of her chair and put a gentle hand on her ankle, just to be careful even if she was fully aware of him. Clearly it worked, if it got her to smile a little bit, like a little kid pretending to sleep so that their parents would carry them up to bed instead of having to get up and walk. He took it as a good sign and slid his hand up her leg in a cheeky attempt at a tickle. He got to her waist then stuck his arm between the slacks so he could bring his hand up on the other side and pull her into himself. He tried to move the dinosaur so he could bring her closer, but she pulled it back, at least she looked at him this time, with a smile too.

“I missed you.”

“I missed you too.”

“Then why didn’t you answer my calls.”

“I was scared.”

“Of what?”

“That you’d call me and tell me you can’t be with me because you don’t want to pick between your friends and your girlfriend.”

“You think I’d do that?”

She only shrugged.

“I would never.”

“So you’re not here to break up with me?”

“Never.”

She smiled big at that, but it fell with her next coming thought. “But, um, if you ever had to, I’d want you to pick your friends.”

“What are you talking about?”

“If something happened and you felt like you had to make a choice, I’d want you to pick them.”

“That’s ridiculous.” He sat up but didn’t take her with him, so her head was closer to his hip than his chest where it was before. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“I’m not.” She didn’t match his tone, she didn’t want to. She kept herself small, she didn’t feel like being big, staying where she was, fidgeting with the frays on his cargo shorts instead, “I just think that they’ve been there for you in ways I never could, I’d want you to pick them.”

“Do you hear yourself right now?”

She shrugged again, though her positioning made it awkward.

“Hun, listen to me.” He pulled her up next to him again. “The only reason that would ever happen is if they made me choose. I know you’d never do that. And if they did, I’d pick you.”

“You would?”

“Every time. I’m picking you every time.”

She pulled his bottom lip down to hear the silly sound it made, then she looked him in the eyes again, “I love you.”

“Still?” Not what you were supposed to say, JJ. Not what you were supposed to say at all.

“All the time.”

“I love you too.”

The two laid there together for a few more minutes in the way too cramped chair, just enjoying each other’s company. “I almost blocked you though,” she said, just to break the silence. Also to give him a bit of a hard time.

“What?”

“You were calling me five times a minute, I had no choice but to...”

“No choice but to what?”

“What do you mean?”

“You said you had no choice, what did you have no choice in?”

She tried to slowly inch off the chair with a guilty smile on her face, not that she could be very sneaky about being smushed up against someone. He tried to hold her close but she still slipped away so he sat up and straddled the chair, “No choice but to what, hun?”

“It’s hardly important, best not to dwell on it. Don’t worry about it.”

“What did you do?”

“Fiiiiiine, I maybe possibly texted John B to maybe perhaps suggest that you give me 5 minutes to collect my thoughts before calling me,,,again.”

“‘Maybe possibly,’ yeah?”

“Yeah.”

He tried to jump up and chase her but as soon as he stood, his foot got caught in the broken spot which gave her another second’s head start. She considered running inside and leaving him to figure himself out, but she couldn’t just leave him stranded. She dramatically dropped her head back in a sigh and walked back over to him. He kept trying to force his foot straight up through, not turning it and pulling it out that way, and it certainly wasn’t helping that he was just getting angry at it. “You’re gonna bruise your foot. Jesus Christ, hold on, just–ok, stop, put your foot down.”

“What? It’s stuck. I can’t get it out.”

“No, look.” She stuck her own foot in the same gap and he finally seized his moment.

“A HA!” He grabbed her and took her down with him to lie on the chair again, knees bent of course.

“Nooooo! A heinous trick!”

He had no defense, other than looking at her with a big smile again, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“I like that I can say that again.”

“You could’ve said it before too.”

“Now felt like the right time.”

“It was.”

Ring Ring Ring

“Hello?” y/n answered her phone without checking the caller id.

“Hi, um, it’s Kiara.”

“Oh, hi.”

“Hi, yeah, can we talk? Sometime?”

“Uh, yeah?”

“I don’t want to do this over the phone, that always felt weird to me.”

“Ok, where do you want to meet then?”

“The beach? The one by the boneyard?”

“Tomorrow morning?”

“Ok, I’ll see you then.”

“See you then.”

Kiara saw her coming down from the street with a basket and a towel. She waved to her, trying to seem friendly but still worried about overdoing it. “You didn’t need to bring all this. I don’t want to take up too much of your day.”

“You’re not. I just remember you saying you like blackberries and blueberries, and it was early so I brought some.” Y/n pulled a little rubbermaid out of her basket and set them on the towel. “From my garden. And the towel is just because I don’t like getting sand in my pockets. Sensory issues and whatnot.”

“Oh, ok.” Kiara turned to her, sitting crisscrossed, but she stayed facing the water.

“You don’t have to look at me if you don’t want. Eye contact is weird for me.”

“Ok,” she turned to face the ocean too, then spoke. “I want to say sorry, for everything. The way I acted towards you was wrong, and bitchy, and mean, and you didn’t deserve any of it. I’m sorry.”

“You shouldn’t call yourself bitchy, but it’s ok.”

“It’s not ok, I was scared of losing JJ and I was scared of losing my friends cus you’re all bubbly and fun to talk to and interesting as hell. So instead of trying to get to know you, I tried to push you away from all of them too. And that was bit–” y/n gave her a look, “that was stupid of me. And I’m really sorry.”

“I forgive you, and I understand.” They both cheersed with a berry then spent the rest of the morning on the beach.

They walked back to the Chateau together, practically skipping, y/n with the basket, Kiara with the blanket.

“Oh no,” John B looked up from where the 3 boys were helping Big John with the Twinkie.

“What?” Pope asked. “Oh shit.”

“What is it?” JJ hit his head on the hood, then nearly passed out once he saw the two girls.

“Boys? A little help here?” All three of them helped Big John up and he started laughing once he saw y/n and Kiara coming down the street. “Ooohhhh, you three have no idea what you’re in for now, do you?

“JJ,” he put a hand on his shoulder. “I hate to be the one to tell you this, but that’s not your girlfriend anymore, she’s Kie’s now.”

JJ groaned and put his head down on the front of the van, he sat up just in time to see y/n running towards him. He huffed when she crashed into him and stole his red baseball hat, then stepped back to stand with Kiara.

“You two are gonna be trouble now, aren’t you?” Big John asked.

“In what world?” “How could you say such a thing?”

John B and Pope made some bet behind JJ and shook on it.

“Hey,” JJ finally caught y/n alone in the kitchen.

“Hi,” she smiled at him as she shut the refrigerator door.

“So, do you want to come over tomorrow? Maybe we could go to the beach? Take a ride? My dad is supposed to be out for the weekend so…”

“Oh, sorry, I had plans with Kie to go see that new Tom Holland movie. Maybe another day.”

He looked a little sad but tried to be happy that they were getting along. “Yeah—Yeah, that’s cool. Don’t worry about it. Another day.”

She pulled him closer by the waist and pushed him into the inner corner of the counter so she could trap him in. “Hey, hey, I’m kidding. I’m kidding. Of course I’ll come over, all weekend if you can handle me for that long.”

“Not long enough.” He nudged her nose with his then leaned in further to take her in a kiss that seemed to transcend time.

Meaning that it seemed long enough for Big John to very loudly say “John B, could ask your friends to stop making out in my kitchen so I could grab a lemonade?”
