It’s just an easy escape act, just uncuffing yourself with a pin but the kick is your hands are cuffed to your back whilst your body is strapped down into a desk that is also locked

So it’s a double lock situation, first the cuff and then the harness that locks your waist onto the tall desk, to give a helpless illusion, since you are quite short you’re going to look like you’re floating !

Everything was going smoothly until you accidentally dropped the pin you were going go use to uncuff yourself, ahh this is so embarrassing !

You knew that your sister would probably search for you after sometime since you always come home right on time, thank god that is only your sister that’s going to see you at this embarrassing state

You start to relax your muscles let you start to daydream waiting for your sister to come, after almost half an hour heard the door opens ah thank god she noticed you early on, your body is starting to go stiff !

“Ahh siss !, help me out over here I accidentally dropped the pin and now I can’t uncuff myself,” you whine as you swing your legs, ah you don’t want to see your sister face right now

You never heard a reply from her, just the sound of ominous steps getting closer and closer “Ah how embarrassing,”

You felt his big hand resting on the harness that straps you down towards the desk, he rest his hand there as he leans towards your ears “It seems you need to practice more,”

“Dr. Ratio please don’t tease me, I’m dying from embarrassment here !,” you whine as you struggle to get myself

“How can’t I where you’re so adorably stupid,” he chuckles as he crouched to get the pin but he puts in on his pocket instead

“Why are you here anyways, you told me you couldn’t come,”

“I just finished my meeting quickly to meet a certain someone and it looks like I’m came in like a rather sticky situation huh ?,” he smirks as he caress your wrist

“Yup and you sir could be my saviour !,” you try to act like you’re perfectly fine, you’re not of course

He just chuckles at your frail attempt at being unbothered about the whole situation “What would I get in return as a token of your appreciation ?,”

“Anything you want?,” you reply, getting too uncomfortable at the suspense

He hold you waist as he presses his clothed erection against you, “Can it be you ?,” he whispers as he leans down beside your ear

“Y-yes just get me out of here,” you whine as you grind against him

“Well I want upfront payment first so….”

“Ratio…”

Because of what's happening on Twitter...

I've made a little diagram to demonstrate why billionaires and the ultra-wealthy are bad for society.

Elon Musk has put the careers of thousands of small business owners who depend on Twitter (myself included) in jeopardy by completely running it into the ground. Before this, Mark Zuckerberg had already been doing the same when he started pursuing Metaverse, making Instagram and Facebook much more unusable for artists. Do I really need to go into other examples of CEOs and very normalised practise of wage theft?

Meanwhile, the UK currently has the richest Prime Minister in its history. What is this man doing with this wealth? Continuing the Tory legacy of austerity in order to line his pockets and the pockets of his crony friends. This has resulted in a devastating cost of living crisis that continues to ravage the country as people's energy bills skyrocket out of control.

My diagram is pretty basic and lacks nuance, there's definitely more I could elaborate on with this comparison but I really don't have time. I just want people to get the basic point of how billionaires view themselves vs what function they actually serve. I'm also not here to debate whether some organs are more important than others since I'm not a doctor, that's not really the point here. And no, I don't care if people think I'm being harsh by comparing billionaires to a tumour. If they don't want to be compared to one they should stop acting like one. Jeff Bezos could end world hunger right now and chooses not to.

Also, I know a lot of people are going to come at me with the argument that billionaires give away massive amounts of money. First off, people like Jeff Bezos only give large sums of money to charity a.) for the sake of improving their public image and b.) because giving to charity allows them to write it off in their taxes. Also, charities in of themselves have a lot of problems, but that's a blog post for another day. Mutual Aid is a better way to help people directly. Really, the ultra wealthy need to be taxed, of course they do everything within their power to avoid taxes.

Also:

"Earning a lot of money" and "holding onto a lot of money" are two different things. You cannot be a multi-millionaire unless you hold onto that money. If you give away massive chunks of it to enrich society, you cease to be a billionaire.

Oh and this is worth a watch, too.

[Slight edit here - I made the assertion that a billionaire could not spend all of their money in their lifetime, but as someone in the comments pointed out it's very easy for them to completely waste billions in no time. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have shown that].

Anyway, if you would like to see more anti-Capitalist art from me, I am currently working on a webcomic called "Flowerpunk" - a story about a group of anarchists who are trying to save the city of Wyrdon from a supernatural plague known as "the rot." The comic heavily discusses disaster Capitalism and how the rich will use mass death and destruction as an opportunity to further line their pockets.

I also like to do little anti-Capitalist doodles relating to this project, which I plan to make into posters at some point.

Missasinfonia, songs and QSMP…

Hello!! Well, since we all continue to miss Missa, I want to share a little thought.

I don't know if it has already been talked about here, but in the Hispanic fandom of Missa we have his songs very present and some people have not been able to avoid talking about how some of them adapt perfectly to the QSMP.

I want to talk about two in particular whose lyrics I think are perfect for describing Missa's relationship with his family.

The first one is called "Privilegios" (privileges) and I think it describe what Missa is currently going through with Philza. Well, it talks about the anxiety of feeling insufficient for the other and trying to improve but feeling afraid of moving forward (the young Missa from 2014 wrote very deep lyrics). I remember that in a stream he told us about how several of his songs came about and said that he wrote "Privilegios" thinking about us, the people who follow him, because he didn't feel enough for us and is why he always try to do things better. Either way, I think he's perfect for describe his situation with Phil.

The second song I want to talk about is called "Tarde para el plan B" (Late for Plan B) and I think it could be a message from Missa to Chayanne, some of the things he mentions remind me of what Missa told him in that day of fishing before travel to Japan. He talks about how it's okay to fail and that he shouldn't be overwhelmed by his mistakes, and encourages him to keep going and get better. There is also a phrase that I like to think is very much theirs, since it infers that even if they are not together, he will always see him. Now every time I hear that song I think of them and I can't help it u.u (It's a song created 10 years ago, but I think it's fits perfectly).

2. Haha thanks! Honestly...it's the hyperfixations. I managed to improve a lot in just a year because I've been drawing SO much cos there's so many shows and movies I became obsessed with that I wanted to create art for. So by drawing a lot I just naturally improved. For example these two Illustrations are just a year apart:

I actually didn't actively try to improve, it's been a while since I did proper studies (I just don't really have the time for it between freelancing and art school), it just happened.

But I can absoluetly recommend going on YouTube and look for some art tutorials if you actively want to start improving! There's some channels that helped me so much back then:

So many awesome tutorials on so many different areas of art. Love it.

The OG tutorials I began learning from. I watched his videos religiously as a teen. I adore his painterly style and adopted it in some way, haha.

Ethan Becker

This dude sometimes drops these tiny art tips that just completely blow my mind and that I adopt immedietly. He's super entertaining but also such a great teacher.

And I can also recommend checking out this book by James Gurney if you want to get better at colors!

And for anatomy I highly recommend the Morpho books!

But improvement doesn't only come from drawing a lot. A lot of the time I don't draw for a while and just study the world and artists around me and suddenly I improved when I get back to drawing. Don't ever overwork yourself to the point that you don't enjoy what you do anymore. Take breaks and listen to your body!

I learned to try and not compare myself to other artists, which helped a lot. Through conventions and social media I made so many lovely artist friends and realized how we're all struggling in a very similar way. A lot of us don't even really know what we're doing most of the time, haha. But we help each other out, it's such a wonderful community. I think when you're not actively part of the community it tends to feel like other, more successful artists are some kind of art gods that have perfected the craft and never struggle. But believe me, all the artists you admire go through rough times all. the. time. Sometimes what they do feels easy and natural, other times (more often than not) it feels like you have to try and learn how to walk all over again and you start to doubt your abilities. I personally go through that so many times.

So what I'm trying to say is that instead of comparing yourself to the artists you admire, learn from them instead. Ask questions, befriend fellow artists, study the artists you enjoy and just have fun with it!

run rabbit run (4)

pairing: yandere!childe x reader

warnings: unhealthy behavior/relationship, violence, nsfw

inspired by: episode 8 of the hbo series “the last of us”

summary: you are out of food as well as medical supplies, so in order to save your father, you take matters into your own hands. you unexpectedly run into a young master in the forest, who is after the same rabbit as you. since he is persistent on getting the rabbit, you make a bargain with him. he develops a liking to you and decides you are his new personal little rabbit.

note: hey, loves! sorry for the long hiatus. i lost motivation to write, but i’m back now! here’s chapter 4 of run rabbit run. it’s a little rushed tho and my writing hasn’t really improved :(

“then, give yourself to me.”

your breath hitched, feeling both disgusted by childe’s wet kisses on your neck and embarrassed because you were not the only people in the room.

the sound of a gun’s safety turned off and childe immediately pulled away from your neck.

your father was on his feet, his left hand clutching on his stomach and his right shakily holding a pistol, which he somehow managed to grab ahold of while childe was getting too close for comfort. “leave my daughter alone, you son of a bitch.”

you couldn’t stand to see your father in that state, but neither could he stand to see his own daughter being harassed by the man he was working for– well, the man he used to work for.

“did you just curse my mother?” childe scoffed, not an ounce of playfulness in his tone. “oh, you’re really asking for it, aren’t you?”

your father pulled the trigger.

childe summoned his weapons again and skillfully cut the bullet in half.

you gaped at the scene.

your father tried to pull the trigger once again, but this time, his gun was cut in half.

he stumbled back, hitting the shelves, furniture falling onto the ground, smashing into bits and pieces. at the impact, more blood seeped out of his wound and he began coughing out blood.

childe strode towards him with malicious intent. he placed the tip of his weapon under his chin, bringing his head up to look at him in the eyes.

“you’re a pathetic fool.” he taunted. “going against a harbinger like myself? not a smart move. since you are no value to me and you refuse to hand me your daughter, i’ll have to dispose of you now.”

your father heaved out. “before you kill me, i’d like to say a few words to my daughter. tell your men to unhand her. i want this to be between us only.”

childe sighed and rolled his eyes. “fine, hurry up. no funny business.”

the second the pyro agents’ grip on you loosened, you wasted no time running towards your father.

“f–father…” you sniffled.

“my sweet, smart, talented girl. i will always love you. never forget that. you’re the greatest gift one could ever receive and i am proud to call you my daughter.” he caressed your cheek and you leaned your cheek against his warm palm, which would soon turn cold.

you shivered at the though of it.

he said he was proud of you. how could he be proud of someone as weak as you? someone as useless as you?

“i’m sorry. i–if only i was strong enough, i could–“

“stop it. there’s really no way out of this situation, (y/n). don’t blame yourself.”

“that is enough chit-chat, mr (l/n).” childe interjected.

he snapped his fingers and you were back into the arms of the pyro agents.

“no, i beg of you to let him live! i told you i would go with you willingly!” you begged.

“i’ve already made up my mind. and he’s already dying anyway. don’t worry, my rabbit. i’ll give him a quick and easy death.” childe’s gaze shifted to the pyro agents. “take her outside…” he dismissed with a wave. “…unless you want to watch?”

“no.” you whimpered, violently shaking your head.

and so, you were brought outside and you were faced with a carriage.

it wasn’t like one of those plain, wooden carriages. the carriage was black and had intricate golden patterns, drawn by four beautiful gray horses.

the pyro agents’ shoved you in the carriage and shut the door.

“shit! fuck! fuck!” you ruffled your hair in frustration, lowering your head, letting your tears fall onto the red velvet carpet.

you had to do something.

‘if i can’t save father, i should save myself.’

think.

a light bulb went on in your head.

you decided that you were going to hijack the carriage, while childe was still in the cabin and the pyro agents’ were standing around, waiting for their master’s next order. it was a better idea than trying to outrun them in the cold weather.

you slowly opened the door, the other door. luckily, carriages had two doors.

you snuck towards the driver, quiet as a mouse, and then made your move. you climbed up the seat, pushed the driver out and flicked the horses’ reins.

you made it.

you escaped.

QSMP community positivity because the streamer awards made me so happy

QSMP Digital Artist - Ate and left NO crumbs ever omg. The amount of detail, varying styles, and epic scenes are my favorite. The variety of art styles for QSMP artist is like just going to a buffet to browse and they're all special little dishes made with so much love.

QSMP Tradtional Artist - HOW CAN YOU DRAW/PAINT SOME OF THIS STUFF?? Watercolor paintings of QSMP bulids, notebook spreads with cute little details, the fact that you can draw traditionally at all. All so talented.

QSMP Beginner Artist - NEVER GET DISCOURAGED <33. Everyone was a beginner at some point and seeing people improve over time with their art is so cool. I consider myself still a beginner even though I've been drawing for a couple years now lol. There is still so much for me to learn, and the fact how kind the qsmp art community is makes me so happy. Keep improving, your art looks great <3

QSMP Fanfiction Authors - I don't know whether to compliment you or ask for my therapy payment (/lh). So many authors have ripped my heart out and left it out to dry and others are like a bucket of fluff and joy. I love both of these. The writing quality is genuinely amazing on so many of these. I love to visualize when reading and with all the details it's basically just watching a movie.

QSMP Web Weavers - You guys are AMAZING. Finding so many quotes, transcripts, fanarts, aesthetic photos, and being able to combine them in a way that represents characters so well is beautiful. Not to mention the fact how your able to put credits for everything in an easy to find way??? Perfect.

QSMP Moodboards/Stimboard makers - These are so cute aaaa. I love seeing them, all the little collections of photos or gifs of characters I like is very fun.

QSMP Poll Accounts - I LIVE for taking polls. It's just fun to have a place to put an opinion you had for yourself that you didn't know how to put unprompted on your own post. Seeing results after a while also makes me happy to see what as a general consensus the fandom is on.

QSMBLR and QSMPTWT users - Transferring information from one hellsite to the other, I admire anyone who can survive in the discourse trenches and come back with account updates.

QSMP Clip accounts - I love seeing silly clips of cubitos, and especially those with transcripts and translations. It's a lot of effort and I admire that. Gives me so much info I would've missed otherwise.

QSMP translators - As someone still currently learning the other languages, it is so helpful when people translate it. Sometimes your brain just hurts and you can only read your native language. Also anyone who translates things from English to other languages, yes please make it for other speakers.

QSMP Multi-Shippers - It's so fun to see these, yes give your cubito 7 different romantic/platonic partners. You guys collect ships like Pokémon and it is inspiring

QSMP Cosplayers - I respect cosplayers so much. The wigs, the makeup, the costume, the PROPS?? All take so much work it's amazing to see final products. I reccently tried making a scythe for one I want to do, and I was struggling. Y'all are so cool.

QSMP Character Analysis Posts - Keeping fanfiction accuracy and my personal view on characters as close to canon as possible. These help so much when I need to look for a character I haven't watched much and easy to read.

QSMP Livebloggers - Save me from losing track of lore when I'm busy. I swear some of you just never sleep (please do but thank you for information). The amount of stuff I can figure out from vague post of combined livebloggers makes it much easier to know what's happening. Most of my mutual liveblog a lot and it saves me so much time <3

QSMP Rebloggers - KEEPING THIS FANDOM ALIVE‼️‼️ Tumblrs algorithm is based on reblogs, accounts that are just lurkers rb stuff ily. Hell yeah man, take all the cool stuff and share it.

QSMP Animatics - Movie night exists because of you guys!! Sometimes you all make me want to sob violently or laugh till I can't breathe. The differences in each video is so fun to see. The effort in each one is just beautiful too, animatics are NOT easy.

QSMP Editors - The fact that people can take a cube game and turn into epic/sad/cute edits with a few clips, transitions, and audios astounds me. You guys are so cool and I love seeing them. Also the fanart edits are so sick, finding the best ones to match.

QSMP Fan Video Creators - Stuff like the Federation Welcoming Workers Video, that one cucrucho cereal video, things like that. Quality is usually amazing and all the unique takes or camera work is epic. Idk what else fits in this genre but I just wanted to mention it.

QSMP RP Accounts - Seeing other people's takes on characters are so interesting and fun to see. RP is a skill I need to work on and it's done pretty well with these accounts. The amount of detail y'all can put is insane.

QSMP OC creators - Cringe culture is dead, I love seeing people make their little characters interact with eachother based on the QSMP. Keep it up and pls share it.

QSMP 3D Animators/Modelers - I never expirence more joy than when I see a 3D model of a qsmp rat spinning around. Also any 3D animators your dedication is insane. I tried learning 3D animation once and that was a STRUGGLE.

QSMP Vod savers/YT summaries -Actual lifesavers, there is no way I could've been apart of this community without them. Watching a few videos a day about what happened on the server makes it easier for me to actually do other things. Also that one person who made a QSMP2023 summary in UNDER 10 minutes, you are insane and did such a great job.

QSMP Accounts in Different Languages - QSMPBLR is heavily more English speaking than other languages, and when people main tag with post in different languages it makes me so happy. This was the point of the server, to let people post in whatever language they wanted. It's also fun for me to practice and try to translate it for myself.

“Yang Jungwon, why must you make my life so difficult.” You look up from your screen with an deep exhale. Your phone is discarded with a careless toss, landing somewhere in the dunes of your blankets. You fix an accusing glare onto Jungwon who's snuggled happily into your bed, looking quite pleased with himself.

He shrugs back at you, widening his eyes sarcastically in faux confusion, “ I have no idea what you mean Y/N? I was only pointing out that you didn't need to tweet me back?”

You hate the way that you almost want to believe him. Because how could someone with eyes that shine so bright want anything but the best for you? Especially when he's leaning in closer, blinking at you so innocently. It was so easy to almost disregard the shit eating grin he was fighting off his lips.

“Fuck you, don't pull that innocent shit with me you devious cat boy, I know exactly what you are,” you shudder, pushing his face away. “Hyuck is literally never gonna let me hear the end of this.”

Jungwon drops the act with a snort, smirking back at you smugly. “Good, it's what you deserve.”

You eye him suspiciously, “What’s your issue with me helping you out with the makeup for the festival anyways? Is it because you don't want me to watch you perform? I can go home after you're ready if that's what you want.”

He almost looks offended that you would suggest so, flicking your forehead with a scoff. “No you idiot, I was going to invite you to come anyways. I just didn't want to put you through the trouble.

I’m the leader, I should be able to handle it myself.” Jungwon mumbles the last part, playing with the free strands of your hair.

You shoot him an incredulous look. “Don't be ridiculous Garden, it’s not any trouble at all. Plus a good leader knows how to allocate and use his resources. I'm always here to help you.” You poke his sides until he relents, giving you a smile as he fends off your hands.

“Yeah well I still don’t feel comfortable leeching off your money,” Jungwon continues, before you cut him off with a sharp laugh.

“That's cute Won, but it's not like I worked hard for the money, it's all my dad’s so all the more reason to spend it.

It's going to a good place and trust me it's barely gonna make a scratch, much less a dent, in my funds. So that’s another invalid excuse,” you raise your brow with a challenging smirk.

Jungwon sighs, shaking his head in defeat, “Alright, fine, we can hire a shop. But don't worry about having to do our makeup yourself."

“Wait why?!! I swear I’m good at doing people’s makeup I've done it on Haechan and Yenny so many times!!” You protest, sitting up onto your elbows to look at Jungwon properly.

He only dismisses you with a wave of his hands “You’re injured, plus there’s no need if you're hiring professionals.”

“You’re so full of shit! Look!” You whine, flexing your fingers and moving your hand around, disregarding the slight sting as your skin strains under the bandage. “It's a cut, it's not like my hand is broken.”

Jungwon watches your antics with an amused smile, ruffling your hair teasingly, “Why do you wanna do my makeup so bad anyways huh? You tryna get all up close and personal Y/N? If you want to kiss me so bad just ask”

You respond with a low chuckle, “Oh yeah definitely Yang Jungwon, I’m dying to get my grimy paws all over your cute face. Who said I wanted to do your makeup anyways? Maybe I just want to do Sunoo's makeup or any of your other very handsome members.

Perhaps Heeseung was right, maybe you just don’t want me to help because you don't want me doing the same with all your friends? You jealoussss Wonnie?” you mock him with a wiggle of your brows.

“You fucking wish” Jungwon scoffs, shoving your head down into your pillows, paying no heed to your muffled yells.

Your phone begins to ring loudly, the tell tale sign of an incoming FaceTime and you both pause, lifting your heads to look over at your phone.

Hyuck 🤢💖 would like to FaceTime… glows brightly on the display.

Jungwon and you exchange looks in frozen silence for a second before instantly springing into action. Unfortunately, Jungwon’s much faster than you and he snatches your phone, grinning as you plead 'no no no no Wonnie please don't.'

Brandishing your phone just out of reach, he adjusts his hair answering the call with a bright smile.

“Haechannie oppa!!! How absolutely lovely it is to speak to you again.” He says smugly, ignoring the way you groan and burrow under the blankets, hiding from the camera.

“Ahhh Jungwonnie~~ my replacement! I see your tweet wasn’t just a fib. Don't you look cozy and comfortable.” Hyuck responds brightly, winking at Jungwon.

“Not just a replacement Haechannie~ an improvement too I think,” Jungwon winks comically back.

Haechan responds with a hearty laugh wiping a tear from the corner of his eye, “Oh I like you so much already Jungwonnie. Where's my baby at?”

Jungwon lies down next to where you’ve hidden, tilting the camera towards your bundled figure, “Say hi baby~” he coos teasingly.

You gingerly lift the blankets off of your face, giving a grimacing smile at the screen. “Heyyyyyy Hyuck, nice to see you buddy.”

He snorts in response, “Hi darling, nice to see you looking so well rested and comfy. Have a nice night of sleep? Certainly looks like it.”

You feel the heat rise in your cheeks and you cough, “Was just like any other night of sleep really. Nothing to phone home about,” you insist stubbornly, ignoring the way Jungwon grins at you knowingly.

“Oh yeah, I’m sure it was.” Haechan sneers. These two idiots don't even realize I can literally see him looking at her like she hung the stars in the sky right now. And they're all cuddled up in her bed at 11 AM in the morning. This is so obviously domestic, I’m gonna puke. I hate idiots in love, I'm redownloading Tinder tonight.

Rolling his eyes at his own internal monologue, Hyuck clears his throat and continues, “Anyways, y/nnie can I say the B-word now? Or is that still a taboo”

“Bitch?” You say quizzically as Jungwon simultaneously asks “Boyfriend?”

You both pause, turning to look at each other in bewilderment, Jungwon sputtering as he tries to defend his slip of tongue.

Haechan looks entirely tickled at your interaction, Oh I can't wait to tell Yunjin and Chenle about this.

“Uh… I was talking about birthday actually but both of those were wonderful guesses,” he snickers.

“Yes, you can say birthday Hyuck,” you interject quickly before he can begin his mocking you. Haechan yields, spending the next 5 minutes giving a series of corny and overwhelmingly sweet birthday wishes, complete with an theatrical song.

Jungwon and you applaud him heartily, as Hyuck soaks in your praises with several bows and waves.

“Anyways Chenle's too pussy to ask but I'm dying to know, what was so important that your Dad flew in to discuss with you? Is he sending you abroad to study or something?” Haechan prods.

You wet your lips in rumination as you figure out how to formulate a response, eyes flickering to Jungwon’s searching stare.

“No, well. I mean that was an option but he didn’t specifically say that. A lot of it was just paperwork and addendums to the will and company now that I’m of age and I have unrestricted access to my trust fund.

Basically he was just telling me about possible partnership or mergers with another company. And he suggested that I decide soon if I want to actually have an active part in the running of the company. I have a couple of options, like picking back up CEO / CFO training, going to university or just looking into being a board member and primary shareholder.” you list off, rubbing at your forehead wearily. Just thinking about all the possible choices made your temples throb.

Jungwon rubs your knee soothingly, “Don’t stress yourself too much about it. You have time to figure out what you want to do.”

“Jungwonnie’s right, honestly you can just live the rest of your life being a deadbeat and still have enough to support all of your kids so there’s no pressure okay Y/N? Just keep us updated, you know Chenle, Yunjin and I are always here to help you.” Haechan says soothingly.

“And me,” Jungwon butts in, snaking an arm around your waist.

“Yeah and you have yourself Jungwonnie now too,” Haechan agrees readily. “See, you're in great hands."

"Alright, I gotta start the stream now baby, it's been nice talking to you both. Let me know if you wanna join in okay? Chat misses you.”

“I think we’re good for the day,” you look up at Jungwon who nods at you in confirmation, “We have some work to do, but we’ll talk to you another time. Bye Haechannie,” you blow him a fond kiss which he catches through the screen and pockets it with a wink.

After several more minutes of prolonged goodbyes and cheesy aegyo hearts from all three participants, you hang up, cheeks aching from the pressure of smiling.

“Well, that was nice,” Jungwon says pleasantly, echoing the first time he had spoken to Haechan.

“Yeah it was,” you agree quietly, turning to look at Jungwon properly. “I’m glad you get along with my friends, you’re all really important to me and it makes me happy that they like you nearly as much as I do.”

Jungwon lip twitches at how easily the admission escapes you, but before he can think too deeply about the sentiment behind your words, you’ve already moved on, rambling about the different options for the makeup shops.

So he slots your words away in a folder in the back of his mind, one that he revisits when the moon is high, and sleep refuses to take him. And for now he settles for affectionately pinching your cheek, before nestling next to you, resting his head onto yours and scrolling through your phone together.

hello i have a question about learning korean ^^

i started ( self ) studying it about two years ago but discontinued due to college and all, but now i want to pick it up again and i don't know where to start from? i know how to read and write, but i have issues reading in one go— basically i lack fluency in reading and i often stutter. is there any way to improve?

secondly, i do know some basic stuff however my vocabulary isn't vast enough. besides, i would like to understand the sentence structure, or how they write phrases and sentences since it's very different from english. i've referred to so many sites but there's always a question— do i work on vocabulary first or sentence / phrasing structure first? or do i study both of them along side?

this sounds like such a mess and it is because i'm so lost ┬┬﹏┬┬ my main goal is to understand korean shows without subtitles and i do pick up a few words and phrases here and there but there's a lot still left to learn and idk where to start from. moreover, i've noticed that the textbook korean and the one that's spoken in everyday life is way different ( this applies to almost all the languages tbh ) and i'm having a bit of a trouble trying to figure out how a native would say it?

or example, do this thing where i come up with a sentence and try to translate it just to check what it would be in korean and check in the translator to see if i'm right, and most of the time im not. whether it's about the formalities or the conjugations. basically a whole lot of issues so please if u can help ＞︿＜

Hello! If your goal is to be able to understand Korean content without subtitles, then I think self-studying grammar and vocabulary is a good idea. I know you said you already have some knowledge of Korean, so I would refer to my masterlist and start from wherever you feel appropriate. I also recommend diversifying your study material and looking at other resources on Tumblr, YouTube, and on the Internet elsewhere. There's a lot out there!

As for your second question, I think it makes more sense to study vocab and grammar at the same time. As I've said before in previous asks, I was never that disciplined with my studying, so I can't really give you concrete study techniques. I think I got where I am today by regular exposure (on top of taking Korean courses and studying abroad lol). But if you don't have those opportunities, using whatever resources on the Internet can get you far. As you get comfortable with both grammar and vocab, I recommend exposing yourself to content like webtoons in Korean and K-dramas. These will help you with your reading and listening comprehension. There are plenty of webtoons at varying levels of difficulty, and K-drama actors have clear diction that is easy to understand. Again, I don't exactly have concrete techniques for how to eventually ween yourself off of subtitles/translations (since I myself still use them), but in my experience, exposure alone is enough to at least allow me to read webtoons and watch K-dramas without relying super heavily on the translations. Consuming this content will also teach you how natural Korean is spoken by natives. I hope that makes sense!

If you're concerned about speaking, the best way to get better is to converse with others. You might not know other people who speak Korean, but you can still practice with others for free on Hilokal, where I used to teach live lessons. It's a nice, low-pressure environment that can help you get more comfortable with speaking and learn alongside other people just like you!

Also, I generally don't recommend using translators to help you learn a language, especially if you're an English speaker learning Korean. It's more useful for you to understand the meaning of the Korean itself than it is for you to get the perfect translation. Korean is especially difficult to translate into English (in my opinion), so a translator might not give you a clean, accurate, and natural translation. Unfortunately, I can't think of other ways to fact-check your sentences otherwise lol. But I think that looking at enough sample sentences will help you become better at constructing your own. And something that helped me feel more comfortable writing and speaking when I was abroad is that, even if I make minor mistakes, chances are that other people can still understand me. Maybe keeping that in mind can make the learning process a little less stressful :)

watched all the available episodes of sousou no frieren today and surprised myself with how much i enjoyed it so i want to leave my thoughts here before i forget them; i think it would've been a lot more enjoyable if i was catching it from the start, but i ended up crying more than several times anyway

it's such a good concept to begin with, the storytelling is so compelling, and i really enjoyed the atmosphere in every episode. the worldbuilding is very good, we never really get exposition dumped but we learn things as the characters do, which keeps things believable and easy to stomach... plus, we always see stories about the defeat of the demon king, and much less the story of the aftermath, which got me interested in it in the first place. and especially when you add in the factor of time as a matter of inconsequence to frieren in comparison to everyone else especially with her personality... it's so satisfying seeing the exploration of things like the delicate balance between memories of the past and their inability to be changed with how they have influenced and shaped growth (of both the characters and the world) into the present, the passing of time and its varying (in)significance to the characters caught in its flow, the transience of life and (the learning of) what it means to live...

even then the flow of time passing is animated so well; there's this relentlessness to its passing, but despite that it flows like a calm river, clear and constant and steady, never hurrying, never drying. and mage's comment about it showcasing perfectly how frieren stays the same despite time passing is really neat too. on the flip side seeing how things have changed over time (the borrowing, adaptation, improvement of spells from demons which then go on to be adopted by mages is something i really fucking liked!! and the way fern uses the magic so casually as a way to demonstrate the development of magic turning a death spell into 'ordinary offensive magic' is so so good. frieren using this to teach her a history lesson was Also really good.)

it's hard to dislike any of the main characters when they show such strong cohesion of their complex pasts and personalities, and their actions do so well to showcase who they are even in battle (fern's precision and blunt simplicity stands out here). you can even see how they have changed each other over the course of their journey... frieren wanting to give up on finding the lost ring so not to slow the party down but fern insisting they'll stay until she finds it contrasting with her impatience with frieren spending months trying to find the blue moon weed at the beginning of their journey is something that stuck with me a lot

the other thing that stuck with me is the rebuilding of the original party not only thematically within their roles but also in influence by the original heroes (fern being taught by frieren and their noted similarity in the earlier episodes with regards to magic, stark being taught by eisen and the same way they express and approach fear, sein's choice not to become an adventurer being directly influenced by heiter not to mention their obvious similarities in habits)... and of those it's really fitting how frieren represents himmel's hero role now after she was influenced by her journey with himmel, especially with his death giving immense meaning to her new journey and frieren copying his actions because it's what he would do

but i enjoyed it... will be back next week..... waha.............

Do you have any advice for the days / weeks / months after you’ve decided to blow up your own life? It’s feeling very scary to have abandoned everything I was working towards (career / relationship / flat etc) all at the same time…

Blow up your life 2k22 (or 23?)! What a throwback, love this!

Blowing up your life is 2 parts terrifying, 1 part exhilarating. And once you've actually done the blowing up, you enter the deeply scary part of rebuilding. I'm proud of you for doing it! You're on your way to making something better.

But how does one actually do that...

So to start, give yourself a week or a few days to be a puddle person. Just totally shrug off productivity expectations and sink into your laziest self. Watch a whole season of a show in a day. Get all meals delivered. Sleep, any time you want, with abandon. Revel in your unproductivity.

And then it's time for routine. Wake yourself up at a consistent, pleasant but not too lazy time (for me, that's 7:00 but I'm a morning freak). Start your day with something that gets you on the right foot (read: not scrolling for an hour). I recommend a stretch and a tea. You might be a roll straight to the gym person or a walk for a delicious coffee person. Whatever works, as long as it gets you moving and out of bed.

You're going to need to structure your days or you'll get terrified facing into the maw of empty time. I would recommend putting aside a few hours a day for 'productive' time. I mean productive in the widest sense, but with an eye on future goals. So spending an hour learning Spanish would definitely go in here, but at least some of the time should be things directly related to your 'how will I feed myself' future. If you are going to be applying for jobs, that would obviously be in this bucket. But if you're taking some time or doing a major career switch, consider doing something that will get you closer to what you want, even if you aren't sure what that is yet. That might be picking up a new skill like learning SQL, it might be setting up/attending networking coffees, it might be baking cakes if you want to be a pastry chef! Whatever it is, spend some time forward looking so that you make sure you're getting something out of this experience.

But it shouldn't all be work related! You blew up your life for a reason, so now is a good time to work on areas of your life you always wanted to improve on. Cooking yourself a beautiful meal definitely can be in the productive category, as can going for a walk, doing some sketching, volunteering, going to the gym... Whatever areas of your life you want to improve on, spending some time on them is productive. I would allocate 3-4 hrs a day on this productive stuff, and at least an hour per day of that should ideally be future looking.

And then the rest of the time is yours! Wander around where you live, explore. Meet your working friends for coffee near their offices. See the museums when they're empty. Bake cookies and bring them to your friend who's studying for an exam. Read books, definitely. Do things that are fun, but do them after you do your productive time. Oh and definitely make sure you're seeing people, it's easy to feel really isolated during this time, especially as you're coming out of a relationship too. Pick up friendships and acquaintances that fell off your radar because you were too busy, see if they're worth reviving.

And lastly, I recommend having a deadline for the career part of blowing up your life. Sometimes this exists naturally (e.g. you have savings for only 6 months) but when it doesn't, deadlines really help bound your time. You want the outcome of this period to be tangible changes in your life, and having a deadline can make sure that happens. So set yourself one - by 1 June I will have a new job or I will have applied to PhD programs or I will have moved out of my parents house, whatever that is for you. But without a deadline, I feel it's easy for this to just be a lazy time vs an intentional, reset your life time.

Good luck! And enjoy! This should be fun, if scary. It's a great time to reset the foundations of your life, so make sure you're being intentional about that while still giving yourself time to recover and enjoy. Have a great time babe.

SOOBIN: “I think there’s a certain kind of love that can only exist between a singer and their fans”

SOOBIN was discreet in his words expressing his gratitude to his loved ones while looking back on the times he spent with them. The word he chose after careful deliberation - love - was brimming with sincerity. Passing on his confidence and self-assurance to the people who make him a better person: that is his “warm” and cozy love language.

You paid a visit to your childhood dentist, despite your full schedule. You also went back to your old school and said hello to your teacher back in the fall.

SOOBIN: The people I’m visiting are all the ones I promised to visit again when I was a trainee. My high school was strict so it was hard to leave early, but my home room teacher was really considerate and helped me out a lotwith homework and cleaning. He also told the other teachers, “Go easy on SOOBIN,” a lot. I was so thankful that I told him, “If I debut and things turn out well, I’ll come back and make you proud. So you can brag to the kids in your class, too.” (laughs) So I go visit every year, but this year he said he’s retiring. I really wanted to go back there as a superstar but it hasn’t quite happened yet (laughs) but he said this would be the last chance so I went and said hi to his students, too. I was busy when I was a trainee, so my dentist would show up to work an hour before opening to give me treatment early. I wanted to repay the people who have worked hard for my benefit.

I think you must have had time last year to think about all the people in your life. You also wound up seeing your fans during your world tour.

SOOBIN: I kept saying to MOA thank you for waiting for so long. The reason I did that was because if the concert started at 7 PM, we’d have to leave at 9 AM for the venue to rehearse there and they were already waiting for us that early. On top of the tour, they showed up eight or nine hours before our performance at Lollapalooza to fill the front rows so they could cheer us on and lift our spirits. When I saw MOA were there early taking up four, five rows in front of the stage, I really thought, That’s something even greater than love. I’ve always been grateful, but I think I felt it even more during the tour and at Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic.

You must have seen MOA’s love for you at all those concerts clearly in front of your eyes.

SOOBIN: Yes. Going down into the audience during the tour and singing “Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go” is the happiest I’ve ever been singing in a concert. Seeing all those ecstatic fans’ faces right in front of me makes me feel like I’m a good and amazing person. (laughs) I was happy not because I was singing and dancing but because I could see how happy it made MOA to watch me singing and dancing.

You must’ve been happy you could see them face to face at the year-end concerts, too. You used to always be nervous about those shows, but you said you were excited this time.

SOOBIN: I felt like I would have no regrets and feel relieved even if I made a mistake this time because we worked really hard for the year-end performances. I thought to myself that this was the best of best I could do. When I watch older year-end performances, I see a lot of places I could have improved, but seeing the video from practicing for this year, I think I was more confident because I thought it was the coolest thing we ever put on.

That confidence came through in the way you dealt with unexpected situations as they arose. Even when you couldn’t get the blindfold tied on during your MAMA performance, you found a great new solution.

SOOBIN: The blindfold is one of the highlights of the choreography and I never had a problem tying it during rehearsals. I practiced over and over, but when it came to the real thing, suddenly it wouldn’t work. I was so worried that our highlight would flop all because of me, so I bit it and kept on dancing without me realizing it and it wasn’t like I made a split second decision thinking “I should bite this.” I was just desperate and thought I’d better do something. I felt bad and sorry because I made a mistake on stage but the immediate response was good and everyone was applauding when I got back to the green room, so I was relieved that it turned out okay.

It sounds like this year’s MAMA was an unforgettable experience for you for a number of reasons. You also got to see KARA perform, and they were your inspiration to become a singer when you were younger.

SOOBIN: I never thought I’d get to see them perform again so I almost teared up. I was so happy seeing how much they enjoyed being back up on stage. They were part of the reason that I liked K-pop and had a dream of becoming a singer when I was a kid. And I learned a lot about their mindset while watching all their appearances on variety shows. I thought they’re a strong and solid group and they influenced me in a lot of ways but I think I like them even more now that I do the same thing as them.

You never explicitly revealed who you’re a fan of before. What made you open up this time about being a fan and what it feels like?

SOOBIN: I thought the members of KARA might feel uncomfortable when I brought them up. I have such great memories of them but I thought it might be a little rude and could be off-putting to their members if their name was put out there because of me so I avoided saying anything. But I wanted to help them now that they made a comeback, even if it was just a little help by talking about them once to promote them. (laughs) It was kind of tough not talking about them all the way up to now. (laughs)

Does having been a fan in the past help you better understand how your fans feel?

SOOBIN: I think it helps a lot. I think there’s a certain kind of love that can only exist between a singer and their fans—one that doesn’t happen between friends or people dating. They exist for each other and want each other to be happy and hope for better things for the other than for themselves. It seems like it really only exists between fans and singers. Actually, as a singer, whenever fans came to a fan signing event with a fan letter in hand and said, “I’m going to hold a birthday cafe event for you,” I would say, “I think your hand will be tired from writing letters every time you come. I’m thankful you make time for me but I hope you don’t spend your money.” But now I think I should be grateful and accepting of everything they do, whether it’s writing fan letters or holding events, and I think I understand them better now, too. I’m the kind of person who puts the happiness of my fans ahead of my own unconditionally, but the fans also put my happiness first and feeling that again, I realized it’s an extremely special relationship.

You said in the Weverse Live held on your birthday that you’re having fun getting ready for your comeback.

SOOBIN: I felt that way because I have so much pride in my work now. I never really used to like myself, to be honest. I just felt sorely lacking as a person and last year in particular I questioned whether I’m even good enough to be a singer and started to have doubts about my job. But meeting the fans made me think of myself as a singer who can be a good influence and make them feel good, and that made me feel proud, and wonderful, and complete. (laughs) It changed to that kind of feeling. So I just want to do the comeback as soon as possible so I can show this off to the fans.

Why did you wonder if you’re really suited to be a singer last year?

SOOBIN: By the time we went on tour, it had been so long since I had been around so many people all in one big space. I don’t know if “shy” is the right term to use. I’m a singer, so I get up and sing and dance in front of lots of people, but I started to think, if I have a hard time doing that, how can I keep on being a singer? Maybe I’m not cut out to be a singer after all. But last year was actually my first tour, and it was the first time being around people in such a large space in such a long time that I think that something about it felt awkward to me. I’m confident I’ll have a lot of fun on our next tour. I think from now on I won’t be full of doubt about my job as a singer ever—I’ll just be full of pride. (laughs) I’ll be a better person this year than last year, and an even better person next year.

You tried a lot of new things last year. You could say you’re taking on another challenge with the concept behind this latest album. What was it like working on it?

SOOBIN: The new songs are a little tough again. (laughs) We revealed that the concept for the album would be “refreshing and sexy,” and after we did, fans seemed to be more excited for the refreshing part. So us members talked a lot amongst ourselves about what parts or sections would capture that refreshing quality best when we perform. While practicing, we would come to parts that seemed like they would capture that well, and we would say, “Let’s do this with more of a bright smile on our faces.”

The Daydream version of the concept photos really captures those bright smiles well. You called those your favorite.

SOOBIN: When we were shooting the Daydream version, they told me I’m having fun in Neverland and to wear a dreamy expression on my face. I thought of Neverland as this happy, joyous, innocent place full of smiles, so I wanted to look like a really happy little kid in the photos and actively tried to spend every second wearing a big smile.

You also chose the Neverland-themed “Farewell, Neverland” as your favorite song.

SOOBIN: I really love that song so I wanted to sing it particularly well. And since I like it so much, I did the most takes and editing for that one. It’s a difficult song, so practicing it was a little hard, but after it was all done and I listened to it, it actually turned out really well. (laughs) And with songs like “Devil by the Window” and “Sugar Rush Ride,” there’s ideas like temptation and the devil, so I used my voice a lot in ways I never did before in my life to sing the songs in a whole new style. It was a little challenging at times (laughs) but I put a lot of effort in and I think I captured the idea of temptation well.

There’s definitely a nuance of temptation. I think, despite those temptations, there’s sometimes things you have to hold onto. Sort of like the words in the logo video: “It’s so sweet, but I should find my name.” As a member of TOMORROW X TOGETHER, is there something you want to hold onto?

SOOBIN: I’ve said this again and again since debuting, but I want to hold onto the TOMORROW X TOGETHER name. I hope the name stays pure even after a long time passes. Even when our 15th or 20th anniversary rolls around, I want to make sure the name keeps its pure image, so when people mention our name, they’ll think, Those guys worked really hard. They were an amazing group.

Considering your members, I don’t think you’ll have any problem holding onto the meaning of the name. What do you, in your everyday life, want to hold onto—want to make sure you don’t lose no matter how much time passes?

SOOBIN: I want to be surrounded by good people the way I am now for a long, long time. I have a really good judge of character (laughs) and the other members, my friends, all the staff—absolutely all of them are great people. I feel like I’m living a blessed life with all these good people surrounding me.

You probably have so many good people around you because you’re a good person yourself.

SOOBIN: Yep! (laughs) That’s part of it. There’s definitely some kind of influence there. (laughs)

It makes me think of when you said on Weverse, “I hope you take a look at the real-life Choi Soobin. Honestly, when I look at myself, even I think I’m an okay person.” (laughs)

SOOBIN: I actually think SOOBIN the K-pop singer has a number of shortcomings but that the real-life SOOBIN is a great person. It’s sort of weird coming from me (laughs) but the more you get to know him, the more you realize he’s an okay guy. And I heard a lot of good things from the people around me last year. Someone told me, “I feel really comfortable around you. I really open up around you.” My friends said, “I’m really lucky to have you as a friend.” When I heard that, it made me think I might really be a pretty decent person.

You gain self-confidence from the important people in your life that way.

SOOBIN: Exactly. If you look at it that way, I’m discovering my own identity step by step, and the more I get to know myself in the process, the more I feel like I’m a really emotionally strong person—not just a strong person, but a strong person with a good mind. And MOA’s always helping make me into that kind of person. It might sound like a cliché at this point because I say it to them so often, and I don’t want to diminish its power by overusing it (laughs) but “thank you” really is the very best thing I can say, I think. I don’t just say it lightly—I’m being completely sincere. I’m really grateful.

You were quietly eating your lunch. It had been three days without missions. It felt good to have some free time after several weeks of missions that seemed endless, barely ending with one when they already had to go to the next one.

A new mission had come to them just at the moment when you finished eating the last bite. You sighed, a little frustrated. You had planned to watch a movie with Steve after eating.

The mission took them little time. However, almost immediately, Steve had to go on another mission. After he was gone, you looked at the calendar, and let go of the air contained in exasperation. The next day was his anniversary. You couldn't believe that you had almost forgotten.

Immediately, you went to the supermarket to buy everything you needed to surprise your boyfriend with dinner when he returned the morning after the mission.

The recipes you chose were supposed to be easy, but you weren't sure where you went wrong, and it was all a mess. In fact, if someone had seen the state the kitchen ended up in, they would have believed there was an attack.

You shook some flour from your clothes. You were not sure if you wanted to laugh or cry. However, you preferred to go and clean yourself since, in a short time, Steve would return and you would see how to fix the disaster in the kitchen or somehow you would understand what happened.

When Steve arrived, he was amazed at what he saw. It seemed as if something had been baked, or at least tried to have exploded. He called you, but until the third time, you didn't answer.

"What happened here?" Steve asked in confusion.

"Ah... Well, then." You didn't know how to explain what happened, although fortunately (or unfortunately) they received a message that they had to go on another mission. "We have a job, Steve," you replied, quickly leaving the house. Steve followed you.

It only took them a couple of hours to complete the mission. On the way back, Steve and you were very quiet. While putting on their pajamas so they could finally rest, Steve decided to break the silence.

"So, who..."

"Not going to talk about that," you said, as you walked out of the room quietly.

Steve stared at you, missing. Maybe it was the way he could confirm that you were responsible for the mess below. Then he saw the calendar and understood the reasons. He swallowed, nervous. Maybe he should apologize, although it didn't seem like you were angry, but he had just realized that he had forgotten your anniversary.

He decided that the next day he would take you somewhere for dinner, but just in case, he would clean up the mess from the kitchen.

Simon “Ghost” Riley Headcannons

The two of you definitely live in a cabin in the middle of the woods. This is to keep you safe & so that neighbors don’t hear you if you know what I mean

Chops his own wood to keep you warm in the winter. Usually wears a black henley that’ll fit a bit tight on him- it’s his go-to top (other than you ofc)- but you’ll find that when he gets all hot and sweaty after a while of chopping wood, he strips of his top. A wonderful sight honestly.

You get a bit flustered when you’re staring at him chopping wood and he constantly makes eye contact with you, his lifeless eyes so focused on one task. But when he keeps seeing you staring, tension rises and he gets a bit flustered himself.

He goes inside for a glass of iced cold water. He needs it because of what you’re doing to him. The glances might seem little, but Simon’s a love deprived man.

“Stop that,” he mutters while passing by you and pinches your behind.

“Stop what?” you giggle.

“Whatever you’re doing.” He fills a glass of water and while he drinks it, drops of water seem to drip down his chin and onto his bare chest and then to his toned abs. You catch sight of his happy trail that leads down to that delicious v-line. You were gawking even though you were so sure Simon did this on purpose. Skilled at aiming any gun known to man, but somehow can’t drink water properly? Nah that’s just babygirl. Your eyes rake back up to meet his gaze and you can’t hide the lust in them. “That right there,” he pointedly looks at you with a curt nod. “Stop that.”

I’m not sure why everyone takes him as a sweatpants kinda guy. He definitely isn’t imo. He rocks cargo pants 24/7 and will occasionally wear jeans that you buy for him.

He’s definitely an ass man. Loves hugging your behind when cuddling; using it as a pillow. When you cook together, he can’t keep his hands off your ass. Always groping it or holding it in one way or another.

Once you met Soap, you clicked immediately and got along super well. Simon got a bit jealous of this and would watch Soap like a hawk.

Hates when his besties ask about you. “So how’s Y/n doin?” Soap asks absentmindedly from his cot. How is she any of his business? Is he developing a crush on her? Ghost turns to stare at Soap skeptically. Knew I shouldn’t have taken him into my home, introduced him to her. He knew Soap would never, but he could never be too cautious. “Mind your fuckin’ business and go to bed,” Ghost replied harshly as he abruptly turned his back toward Soap.

Simon’s not a picky eater- he will eat anything that will give him nourishment. He’s had to cook for himself most of his life, so he’s not a bad cook at all. But the man has room for improvement and that’s where you come in. He likes watching your skilled hands. How quickly you chop up an onion or how swiftly you whisk some batter. You bring life to something he saw meaningless as preparing food to eat, but now he loves doing it with you.

a/n- that was the very first thing i’ve ever written on here WHEW. wrote this in like ten mins go easy on me. but i take constructive criticism with open arms.

also side note i hopped on the ghost bandwagon and that’s how i was introduced to the fandom. i’ve never played mw2 or any cod for that matter. this is me explaining myself to you in case you hated this.

Pls gush about Kyman (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

I feel better now lol. This post in particular won't be detailed because I feel like I've already said everything about Kyman (at least, most things, or others have already covered them sufficiently).

But yeah Kyman! As I've said plenty of times, I find them very entertaining, and it was the ship to get me to appreciate...well, the yaoi side of the fandom lol. When I got into this show I went into it without any ships in mind (spare I guess Creek, since I heard a lot about the Creek episode prior and obviously there's a lot of fanart and fanfics for it...I actually expected Creek to be my OTP and while I still enjoy Creek I wouldn't say it is). So there wasn't anything shipping-wise I was really looking for while watching the show, and I didn't interact with the fandom until I had watched every single episode/special/ect. up to that point.

I just love how I shipped Kyman ironically before actually shipping it. I love how much fun it was for me to rewatch episodes that focus around them and to really indulge myself in this ship...I haven't really had that experience with any of the other ships of South Park despite wishing I could feel similarly about others. I kind of did with Stendy but it left me wishing M/F couples were better in the show, and the women in general. (I still love Stendy though lol, but mostly in fanon I guess because canon doesn't really show their full potential).

There was a bit of time where I didn't really give Kyle as much attention as the other main four boys and considered him my least favorite, but Kyman actually helped a little bit in appreciating him more, since his rivalry with Cartman is a notable part of his character and the show overall. Y'know when I was first getting really, disastrously deep into this ship, I had a dream that basically told me "Cartman and Kyle are South Park" and I think my subconscious had a point lol...to an extent. It helps knowing that Trey likes playing around with characters that are opposites, such as Kyman and Buttman.

Is Kyman perfect? No. Do I like all their episodes and moments unequivocally? No. This is kind of a show that's easy to pick and choose from. I'll admit I do it sometimes. Shipping Kyman isn't a matter of looking at them as characters realistically (in regards to all of their actions/traits). If you really want to interpret Kyman as "abusive" then sure, you can, you have a right to that interpretation as I have a right to my own. I disagree with it though, at least the way I like to go about the ship...which yes, does kinda involve Cartman improving (especially in regards to his bigotry) but not to the extent that he's an entirely different character.

Anyway, I guess the way I see Kyman is that couple that enjoy bickering and its usually entertaining for others to watch...or completely unbearable if you're anyone other than Kyle and Cartman. This also applies to other aspects of their relationships like how PDA they are, which they absolutely do not hold back on lmao...this is truly why you see so much fanart where Stan and Kenny are just there to witness the absurdity of Kyman, because that's really just how it is, all of us are just watching the insanity of their relationship unfold.

I think I've gushed enough for now, if you want good analysis this is definitely not the place for it. Kyman is still very special to me though, in a way that will probably always transcend other South Park ships to me. Ultimately they make me laugh a lot and I love them.

How to Support Your Favorite Creators!

This guide is largely based on my preferences as a freelance digital artist, but I think can be applicable to others. So let's chat about ways you can support your favorites, sometimes very free and very minimally with big results!

FREE WAYS TO SUPPORT

Like and/or comment - The easiest and free-ist way to help is simply to like or leave a comment on their work! Speaking personally, especially as someone who typically draws for others instead of myself, this is what keeps me drawing and sharing. Knowing that you're here liking what I make, finding happiness in it, or delightful shock and horror fuels me to keep creating, keep being inspired, and keep looking for ways to improve my skills. I just wouldn't be here drawing as much as I do without your likes and comments, and to me this is one of the most valuable avenues of support.

Watching Streams - If your creative also streams, just hanging out and lurking in their stream is super helpful. A lot of streaming platforms, especially Twitch, gate streamers based on their average viewership. For example, in order to be able to receive subs and bits on Twitch you need to be an Affiliate account, and in order to do that you need to reach a few different requirements, one of them being an average of 3 viewers over a 30 day period. You'd think 3 would be easy, but it isn't! If you can also interact in chat with the streamer, great! If not, lurking is absolutely helpful in helping your streamer reach the numbers they need for their next goal on the platform.

Reblogging and sharing links - This is perhaps one of the most impactful ways to support your faves without spending a cent, and that's because you're helping us reach new people who will hopefully like our work as much as you do, and will in turn also share our work to new people that will like our work and so on! As a small freelancer, growth is important to keep me going professionally as an artist, and reblogging and sharing my work absolutely contributes so much to that.

Referrals and Recommendations - A lot of my recent commission work is thanks to previous clients and supporters that recommend my work to others looking for art. Good reviews and word of mouth have helped me so much in my commission work and I'm so appreciative of this.

(A small aside to fellow artists, always try to be professional and friendly as it's your attitude and behavior that plays a part in others wanting to refer you, not just your art. Not advocating that you let anyone boundary stomp, but I know for a fact that my professionalism is what gives people the confidence to recommend me so strongly to their friends and fellow content creators. Use invoicing, stick to a schedule, be clear and consistent, and if there are issues be transparent and prompt in communicating them. If anyone would like me to go into more detail about how I handle commission work I can make a separate post.)

MONETARY WAYS OF SUPPORT

I just want to make it very clear that I do not expect anyone, especially in this economy, to give me money. However if you do have some extra cash and you'd like to give it to your favorite creator, here's how!

Tip them! - If they have a Ko-Fi or another platform for small tips and donations, use them! A few dollars may not seem like a lot and perhaps you feel bad or foolish to give so little, BUT DO NOT. With money being such a precious commodity, for me it means a lot when someone is willing to send a few my way. And if even a few are tipping a couple of dollars, that can easily add up. To put in perspective, even if just a portion of my supports decided one day to tip me or sub to my patreon one month, I could easily cover most if not all of our living expenses for a month. I'm not telling you guys to do this, but to understand that a few dollars can have a lot of power.

Sub to one of their platforms! - Since I use a few different platforms with this option, I want to discuss the pros and cons of each so you can decide which way you would like to support your favorite that may also have multiple platforms. Ultimately if your fave has a preferred platform I suggest using that one, but if not--

Ko-Fi - Has a 0% fee taken from donations received and do not charge supporters extra., and 5% from monthly memberships, shop sales, and commissions through the platform. The only downside to Ko-Fi is they immediately submit transactions to the creators payout method of choice which can sometimes be troublesome depending on said method. Patreon - A popular choice for creators as we can create multiple tiers of monthly rewards in exchange for your monetary support! The only drawback I think is largely for supporters as it requires a monthly subscription, but you could certainly go the route of a one time payment, catch up with what you missed since your last sub, and repeat. Patreon takes a 5%, 8%, or 12% fee depending on the creator's account. Twitch - For your favorite streamers, subbing to their Twitch is often the way to go as increased sub numbers directly benefit streamers in their growth on the platform. HOWEVER, Twitch has a pretty notoriously bad payout split of 50/50, so if your favorite streamer has a tipping platform or Patreon, it might be worth asking if they would prefer a sub or one of those other options.

Commission them! - If you have the funds and their commissions are open, request one! I know at least my commissions can be pricey so I never, ever expect anyone to request one, but I am so excited when someone fills out a commission request form and it lands in my email!

Some tips for commissioning art:

Read the artist's Terms of Service and fill out their request form, if they have one. If they don't then contact them privately, but if they have one please use it instead of DMs (especially on Twitter where DMs do not show up most of them time).

If you feel you can't afford their fees, just tell them you simply cannot afford them at that time. Do not tell them their skills cost too much or aren't worth their asking price. Custom art is a luxury, it isn't cheap.

If you want to use the final commission commercially, you need to purchase commercial rights from the artist. Artists retain copyright of their work, even fanart, and you are not permitted to sell it without permission or obtaining the copyright. Be upfront with your artist if you want to use the work commercially so they can price accordingly.

Provide references, especially for OC. If you have a certain pose in mind, even a poor doodle of it is helpful for your artist.

Be patient, give your artist some time to work and respond. Drawing takes time. That said, if your artist is taking weeks and months without communicating with you, absolutely follow up with them.

On the other hand, don't let your artist rush you either. I always tell my clients to take a few days to ruminate on questions and in progress updates. If I'm streaming your commission, I will never ask you to make confirmations during stream.

Understand that big changes, especially during certain parts of the drawing process, may incur additional fees based on how much work the artist will need to do to accommodate those changes.

Ask for a proper invoice, never do friends and family. An invoice is to protect you as much as it is to protect the artist because if you have an issue with the artist never delivering your commission you can use the invoice to assist in recouping your money. I personally use Paypal invoicing for this reason, despite all the issues with Paypal, because I want to make sure both myself and my clients are protected.

Pay on time! And if you feel your artist is underselling their work and they have tips turned on, tip them!

Those are the major free and monetary ways you can support your favorites! If other creatives would like to chime in with additional tips, please do so!
