Love Shot: Minhwan x y/n
Study group fanfic (1/7 chapters)
Note: 1. I use translator. 2. I hate Minhwan (though most ppl tend to like him) and it seems that this kinda short fiction is most liked by the readers so i decided to translate this. Thanking for stopping by this post.
“Stop calling me by that weird name. Ma Minhwan, remember that.”
All the faces flashing by - say hello. We've said goodbye. Maybe we'll meet up again in the next life.
Tumblr media
Upon waking from the dream, various sound echoed in his mind—the laughter, the tender plea in spoken words, the whispering breath, the echoing blast of gunfire, and, in solemn solitude, the mournful utterance of her name.
Chapter I : Unexpected encounter
Y/n was an ordinary high school student, searching for a webtoon to read during the twilight hours.
Being an avid manga reader, she made it a daily ritual to unwind after a long day of studying. Sometimes, she stumbled upon stories so captivating that she lost track of time, reading until late night.
Tonight was no different. While engrossed in her manga on the bed, Y/n's attention was caught by a series titled "Study Group." Her favorite character in this story was Yoon Gamin, a handsome nerd who captured the hearts of many readers.
After three hours of indulging in the manga, her eyes felt strained. Suddenly, her body stiffened, and she struggled to breathe. To make matters worse, she couldn't utter a plea for help. In less than a minute, the world around her darkened, and she felt a sense of impending doom.
It seemed like the end of her life...
But it wasn't.
"Whoa!" Y/n abruptly woke up, gasping for air. She looked around in confusion; this wasn't her bedroom or the familiar bed she knew.
Rushing to the bathroom, she stared at her reflection in the mirror, almost refusing to believe what her eyes were seeing. The image in the mirror was undeniably her, yet different. Y/n had transformed into a 2D cartoon character.
Reading countless manga stories that transported characters to different worlds, Y/n never imagined she'd experience it herself. Tentatively, she touched her face, feeling the animated essence of her being.
This wasn't a dream.
She was alive...
But where was this place, and which manga world had she fallen into?
Exploring the room, Y/n realized it was a modest rented space. It seemed she was navigating this 2D world alone.
Approaching her backpack to find some clues, she discovered a wallet inside. Opening it, she found a student ID card.
"Y/n's student ID... at Tech High School..."
Her eyes widened in shock. "Tech High School!"
"Did I just reincarnate to Study Group!?"
In the myriad manga stories she had read—whether they were shojou, princesses reincarnated to another world, or epic fantasy battles—Y/n found herself immersed in a South Korean high school webtoon which she hadn't even reached the end of the story herself! Not even half of it.
Y/n raised her hand to her forehead, overwhelmed, pondering how she would survive in that school.
After spending a day that, truth be told, involved nothing but contemplation, she remained uncertain about the timeframe of events. What she did know was that she had read up until the point where Gamin went to the hospital and encountered a golden-haired senior with a small vocabulary notebook. Beyond that, the storyline was a mystery.
The bell rang loudly, signaling the start of classes. Despite feeling out of place during her first genuine visit, there was a strange familiarity about the school that lingered in her mind. It wasn't just that; her interactions with other students felt oddly normal, as if she hadn't stumbled into an entirely different world.
She discovered she was a first-year class 1 student in the Fashion Design department—a regular student in this chaotic school.
"And now, what am I supposed to do in this world?" she wondered aloud.
No quests or pop-up windows like in dating sims or manga where the protagonist transmigrates into a novel. Y/n realized she had to find answers on her own—why she ended up in this world.
"If I meet Yoon Gamin, the protagonist of this story, it might be good," she mused, her heart skipping a beat at the thought of encountering the 2D ikimen she admired. This wasn't just a dream; she could feel her heartbeat clearly.
Y/n decided to find Yoon Gamin during the break after lunch. The problem was that even though she had a vague memory of the school, she had no idea where the classrooms for the male students were. It seemed her 2D self had never visited this part of the school before.
"Yoon Gamin is in first year... class 1... first year," she muttered while scanning room signs, eventually bumping into someone unexpectedly.
"Oops! Sorry, I wasn't looking."
Y/n instinctively touched her head before diverting her gaze to avoid further embarrassment. She was about to walk pass him.
"Wait. You don’t think saying sorry would be enough for bumping into me like that, right?" the person with navy blue hair, not that tall comparing to the light-haired guy beside him, said.
Y/n sighed. ‘Seriously? I don’t have my precious time for an extra like you. I gotta find this manhwa protagonist!’
“Hmm?” He raised his eyebrow in curiosity.
“Wait…You are…”
“I am?”
The realization suddenly came to her mind
“You are the gray-haired antagonist’s friend!”
“Huh?”
“What…”
Both of them got confused at the same time.
"you're calling me what?" The so-called gray-haired antagonist chuckled, and the person next to him then started to laugh.
"Hahahaha! ... Hey Hanwool, this girl just call you gray-haired antagonist!"
“Stop laughing, Ma Minhwan.”
"Well~ does this not seem to be fun…YOU. What about being my new toy!" Minhwan declared, grinning.
"Wha... what? What do you mean? I don't want to be anyone's toy," Y/n protested, avoiding eye contact.
“Also, I am not gray-haired antagonist’s friend.”
“It’s Ma Minhwan. Remember that.”
Seemed like she had just got into trouble.
And at the end of the day, she didn’t get to Gamin because after she had encountered with a character in Study Group (not a good side for sure), she then left the male student building suddenly, realizing it was not the right time to engage with characters she didn't know well.
But y/n didn’t give up. Next day, as she wandered the halls, she stumbled upon the Study Group room and decided to take a peek. “Is this the room?” She then saw the boy with a thick black square glasses.
“Umm…excuse me? Anything I can help?”
Y/n body froze. Well, it’s her first time meeting Yoon Gamin. She knew he’s hot. He was also the character she liked (the hot-nerd type.) Her heart was beating very fast.
“Umm?”
“Ah! I’m sorry. I am actually here to find…”
“Find?”
“Find a way to apply for Study group.”
The glasses boy eyes suddenly sparkled. He tried to remain his calm and reliable look. Little did he know, y/n already knew his personality and passion towards recruiting students into Study Group.
The long table in the middle resembled an interview setup, and all members stared at her from a distance.
"May I ask why do you want to join this club?" Gamin asked.
"Why…”
The question lingered in her head. ‘Why did I come to this world?’
From the reading experience she had, there should be a reason ‘why’ or else…did she—
“I am dead!?”
“Dead?”
“Oh, umm, I mean…the old me who is lazy is dead! Now I want to be better at studying!!”
"That’s a very good answer…ok!”
“Ok? I passed the interview?”
‘As simple as that?’
Sehyeon, a guy with brown hair, entered the scene. "Y/n, to be honest, if you decide not to join the club, the one who is going to beg might be Gamin not you."
"T…Thank you, Gamin. I'll dedicate!"
To search for the answer
The answer— the reason for her to be here

As a little intro, some spoilers ahead! This is a little post about Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and how surprised I was to have enjoyed it. It really is such a good show and I'd recommend it highly. I wrote this in two separate parts but felt it worked better as one larger post so if it's a little disconnected or repeats anything that'd be why. Enjoy!
To fully be honest though I’ve been in LOVE with Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. It’s finished up it’s second season and something about the way it ended makes me think there won't be another season but I wouldn't mind either way. It felt good the way it was. I constantly found myself thinking “YES GIRL SHOW ‘EM” as Anne, our protagonist, was met with more and more hurdles in her quests and she'd work as hard as she could to get around them every time. Sometimes events happened that she simply couldn’t avoid but instead of simply being a damsel or waiting for someone to save her she seems to always get up and ask herself “What can I do right now?” Each time the show beings to enter a trope it seems to lightly find a new way around it or plays into it a really nice way. No matter how it plays out it’s refreshing. Where I would have been upset about feeling like characters should be able to see certain turns coming or problems arising, it was way more engaging to let the story play into those things and be excited for how things would playout after (and maybe shout a few “Gah I knew it!” when I got really into it). Overall too it has this otome game sort of feeling to it’s story progression. Even though the main love interest is fairly clear there are moments that in an otome would definitely net some romance points for certain characters.
Something that surprised me about that is I really enjoyed every second of it. It’s hard to explain the full story of why, but I’ve really had a problem getting into Shoujo type stories lately. I play a lot of Otome, in random sporadic amounts, and something that I enjoy about those rather than general shojou stories is that there is a development of relationships and characters that feels fun. In going through common routes theres a chance to engage and really understand aspects of characters that you tend not to always get in shojous because the story is meant to develop specific relationships. There are times where multiple relationships develop but most of the time a linear story works on specific relationships because that tends to drive the story forward more easily and is usually what readers want to see. Even Otome tend to drive the relationships through the common route but ultimately focus on the single chosen relationship in the full routes. Nonetheless my favorite part of Otome is when everyone is hanging out together and were able to invest our time in getting to know everyone as much as we want and see them interact with each other. There’s also a bit of world building in these parts that I like because Otome always have such fun worlds.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale though is the perfect mix of the Otome getting to know everyone, and then the main relationship of shoujo. Theres something super engaging about the way they wrote it that makes it both a bit predictable but not in a way that I disliked. Whenever I saw something coming I didn’t go “Gosh that was stupid, I knew from the start”. It was more so that I enjoyed how I could see what was coming because it meant I get to know how the characters reacted when they found it out. For example I sort of knew that bridgette would find a way to get Charelle’s wing the moment she gained a crush on him. I did not however know how she would or what Anne’s reaction would be. And that made it intriguing. Something about the way that works is super nice. From what I understand as well, Sugar Apple is a light novel so it’s possible thats why it feels so interesting in it’s writing (if it is a light novel).
It’s definitely one of the easiest series to watch through that I’ve seen in a while though. It was just...refreshing.

Okay, but like imagine when Luz finds out Hunter has a crush in Willow (most likely through Gus or Hunter accidentally telling her) and not only does she fangirl super hard like us, she also gets him into shojou/ romance novels to help him understand his feelings (and drive him into info overload)
*somewhere in the owl house, most likely in Hunter’s room*
Hunter: AHHHH I CANT TAKE THIS!
Luz: woah, what’s going on with you?
Hunter: that’s the thing! I don’t know what’s going on! Recently, my face has been feeling hot, my stomach feels weird and it happens whenever I’m around Willow. I thought she cursed me but according to Gus, I have this thing called a crush? Hhhhh this is all so confusing!!
Luz: …….did you just say…..a crush?! *eyes lit up with glee and face growing into a wide smile* A CRUSH?! ON WILLOW?!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Luz starts fangirling, screaming, crying, and jumping with joy as Hunter looks at her with concern and borderline scared.
Hunter: uhhhh, is this a good thing?
Luz: OH HUNTER THIS IS GREAT THING!!! YOU! WILLOW! TOGETHER! AHHHH!!!!
Hunter: okay you can stop screaming in my ears!
Luz: oh sorry sorry! *sheepishly backs away a bit* I just can’t believe it! The bad but sad boi in love with the sweetest baddie & my bestest friend! Oh my shipper heart!! *dramatically clutches her chest*
Hunter (redder than ever): I thought I told you not to call me that! Also what’s a baddie? And shipper heart?
Luz: Ehhhhehehehh!!
Hunter: okay this is getting weird….
Luz: it’s not weird, it’s pure joy! AHHH! *gives Hunter a big hug* awwwweeee you guys will be so perfect for e/o.
Hunter lightly pushes her away
Hunter: okay, okay, enough of that. But, will….she feel the same way…..even….even after she learns about the truth of what I actually am? And after I hurt her-
Luz grabs Hunter’s face like how Eda did in Separate tides.
Luz: Hey! Don’t go angsty on me! Not trying to have another rain x eda angst moment! Willow is the sweetest and bestest girl I’ve ever met and even though you’re a grumpy boi, you’re a good guy and she knows that too, that’s all that matters.
Hunter’s face softens a bit as Luz lets go.
Hunter: I suppose you’re right….I’m still new to this crush thing and although it feels weird, I oddly like this feeling, especially when it’s for Willow. Not only is she kind, she’s very smart, brave and strong…she can defeat Terra and really pretty, but when she smiles, especially after our first victory, I swear she looks even more beautiful….*more sweet blushing and wobbly smile*
Luz (happy crying from the sweetness): oh my titan……that’s the sweetest *ugly sniff* most wholesome thing *ugly sniff* someone has ever said *more ugly sniff* I can’t believe I’m witnessing a fluff with light angst shipfic right before my eyes. My shipper heart is being fed!
Hunter (embarrassed blushing): I don’t know what those mean, but please don’t tell anyone about this, especially to Willow and your “gf.” It’s bad enough that you and Gus know…..
Luz: AWWWWW fine, but just letting you know, Amity is also a smart witch, she’ll probably figure it out sooner or later 😏 but in the meantime.
*Luz runs into another room and comes back holding some romance books/ shojo mangas*
Luz: we got some reading to do! And don’t worry, these are all pg-13!
Hunter: what have I gotten myself into?
A few hours later
Eda: Luz! Blondie! It’s almost time to- woah! Went on here?
Eda sees Luz sheepishly looking at Eda as Hunter is lying on the floor with his face all red and a little dizzy.
Luz: uhhhh long story short, Hunter has a crush and uhhhh I got little too exited, showed him some of my favorite romance mangas, and we got a panel where the prince and red head healer/ doctor where kissing a bit too passionately and I turned to him and he uhhh kinda passed out……
Eda: yep, you broke him alright. Anyways, you can fill me in the details later, but lets eat first and clean up the mess please!
Luz: yes maam!
Luz then drags Hunter out of the room.
Luz: Lets go lover boy!
Longer than I thought but I wanted to get this typed out and I should be continuing my finals now and a soon beach fic 👀
Btw, yall got the reference? If not, it’s a scene from snow white with the red hair where shirayuki and zen are in a garden area having a moment or the moment zen kissed her neck and yeah. Great anime btw.

I feel like I know the answers to a lot of the ask game questions already haha so I'm going with 10, 14, 18 😊
MissOblaine!!!!! I feel like we are slightly indulging each other but I love it! Okay, my responses~
10: Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?
Yes, sort of. MLFYWND(NMHMTYTTKM) got a much more positive response than I was anticipating. It's such a strange concept, that I was worried it wouldn't resonate with anyone. But quite a few people took a chance on it and enjoyed it! So that's good!
The other is "The Past Tense." This isn't to call out readers, and I totally get where they are coming from, but I think most people want stories where the couple end up together, no matter what. I have gotten a few comments saying sentiments along the lines of "I wish this had a happy ending/In my mind this has a happy ending where they end up together." Which, everyone can have their own HCs, that doesn't bother me, but like, to me that story does have a happy ending, even if they don't blatantly end up together? (so, spoiler ig). I guess it goes back to the convo of what constitutes a 'happy ending?' and maybe it just looks a little different for everyone! I did go into that story with the prompt of "bittersweet goodbye," so I can easily see how that is interpreted as "sad ending."
14: If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fanfic would you pic?
So, I think the obvious answer here is MLFYWND(NMHMTYTTKM)! I think it would make for a really funny comedy film. I was really inspired by my favorite black comedies when writing it, and there are some really funny, dramatic scenes that I think would translate well.
I have another, different answer though. I think "Violet" would be a really cute webcomic/graphic novel/manga kind of thing. I was inspired by shojou manga greatly when planning it and writing it, and could see it being pretty cute! (now I just have to pull it out of haitus hell, maybe)
18: What's one of your favorite lines you written in a fic?
Oof, toughie (mostly because I hardly remember any lines on their own)! There's a lot of lines in INYT that I really like. That fic lets me write a quippy Shisui who's maybe a smidge overconfident, so I think that lends itself well to having some good lines. Serial killer fic (not doing the acronym again lol) has some really good ones! And I think anything from Stick Season has potential just due to how much of myself I poured into it. I like going back and reading Stick Season, honestly, because reading the descriptions I wrote of the mountains and the details remind me of home <3.
But if I have to pick one for this, I'm going with this one:
“It is hotter than two racoons fucking in a wool sock out here, why in the fuck are we digging ditches and not planting trees, Sasuke?” Naruto asks, leaning on his shovel to take a break from the arduous task of digging in rocky mountain soil.

Daily Log 6/26/22
So today is another normal, not so special day. But yeah it is a Sunday so Happy Sunday everyone!
So I've read a manga, a shojou manga, which surprisingly I really got into, because I'm a yaoi and isekai kind of girl. It's Sweat and Soap, I just really love the story of the couple, it's fluff and an easy read. For something that can be quite predictable, I read it nonstop. Well it was really beautiful. It got me wondering if I could also get that type of love, you know the marriage kind of live since both are professionals and already independent. Well, maybe independence and being self-sufficient is one of my condition if I ever wanted marriage. I want to be able to stand on my own.
Anyways, I couldn't take it. I want the books. So I finally mustered the courage to ask my share of the prize of the Dancesport competition we joined during the town fiesta. I want it in cash, but u want the book and there is no way I am going out of the four corners of our house just to get the money, plus the fair just go get it, so he just sent me the money via gcash. Well, now I can use it for my online shopping. Though I cannot hold the money physically, which kinda disappoints me—but books first!
So Christal is in Pangasinan now, well we just had our first con, we cannot easily share tea now. I tried calling her but she cannot answer since the internet there is weak and she still haven't connected to the WiFi. But yeah we find ways, just to spill the tea. Well we could always be flexible. Lol.
So while I was typing this, a book is waiting for me, so —gotta go~
P.S. I gotta go to the hospital tomorrow to take my last shot of anti-rabies so gotta wake up early. But I know I'll still sleep late — like always.
XOXO

If Bella was a boy (with Bella's gift. And he would be Edward's singer). What would change? What do you think?
So, I gave a fairly detailed response to this already. The long and short of it being that, depending if Beauford’s the right kind of guy, he and Edward will essentially end up in a romantic relationship neither realizes is romantic. Then Edward eats Beauford at some point.
But, since we’re here, I suppose we can enter imagination land and get into some more details.
Caveat that I haven’t read Life and Death and have no desire to, so we’re actually ignoring some strange alternate universe canon that never made much sense anyway. Shocking, I know, and very unlike this blog.
Beauford Swan and a Kid More Messed Up Than Even Bella Swan
In order for our love story to even start, Beauford has to be the kind of guy that Edward’s into (or can project that he’s into). Well, we know Edward’s into Carlisle (he projects pretty much an idealized version of Carlisle’s personality onto Bella and actively wants to look like Carlisle as to him Carlisle’s is the face of holy perfection while Edward looks like a demon) and given what he says he likes of Bella’s personality we can extrapolate from there.
Edward’s not going to be into an Emmett or anyone remotely resembling Mike Newton. He’s going to be into a quiet, kind, misunderstood, sensative, intellectual who probably looks some level of frail and in need of protection. Essentially, what he saw in Bella, subverting the Madonna complex he has for her a bit (Beauford will be a kind of Madonna, sort of, but not quite so blatant).
So, we have Beauford, who looks a lot like male!Bella and by that I mean he keeps her pale skin, her big dark eyes, and general look about her that she could break with the slightest contact. Basically, he’s a very pretty guy the likes of which typically comes from a shojou anime. He’s also likely still debilitatingly clumsy.
So, you have this guy who’s awful at sports, as in each time he tries he probably ends up in the ICU. Is an intellectual in that he reads old books, an odd amount of Jane Austen at that, but isn’t actually an artist or writer. In fact, other than reading, he has no real hobbies. Has a larger than life mother who constantly needs looking after. And has nothing in common with his peers.
As bad as Bella had it, I posit Beauford would have had it worse. He’s not going to get along with 90% of boys until... probably college. He’s always picked last in kickball, shares 0 interests with most other boys, and is probably ruthlessly bullied for all of this and more. Worse, being so pretty, he’s going to attract a lot of romantic attention, especially from preteen girls who are very into that look and Beauford’s sensitive artistic nature. This is going to get him so much shit from other guys.
Add on top of this Bella’s original difficulty socializing and I imagine Beauford is just as depressed if not more so.
Fast Forward to Forks
Beauford comes to Forks for a similar reasons to Bella, because he felt like a third-wheel in Renee and Phil’s relationship and that his mother was better off without him. I can also see him just not knowing how to act around Phil, who probably expects a stepson who’s more... sonnish. Beauford’s not going to play catch with dad in the yard and I can see Beauford wanting to avoid all of that entirely.
He enters Forks and has a vaguely similarish reception to Bella. Only, there are some key differences.
I imagine Mike, Tylor, and Eric quickly sour on Beauford as he goes from being potentially cool new bro to a guy that can pick up every girl in this school. He’s like the Cullens, but less incestuous and creepy and therefore a thousand times worse. They desperately don’t want Beauford sitting at their lunch table where he can potentially pick up all the babes.
In other words, Mike is the new Lauren, and Beauford knows it. But it’s either eat with these guys or eat in the bathroom, and Beauford’s not at that level of desperation yet.
Jessica’s probably into him, having been into Edward (another pretty, sensitive, guy), but unlike Bella I imagine Beauford has a little better social intelligence in that he has seen this game before and he knows where it leads. So, he desperately, actively, doesn’t flirt with anyone. Which makes him a terrible conversationalist, and he just comes off as really weird.
Beauford, therefore, actually is a Cullen 2.0. You don’t want to be a Cullen 2.0 (Bella is the only one in that school who thinks the Cullens were in any way popular).
I imagine Edward notices this, plus Jessica’s interest, and gives a Nelson laugh from across the room. Now someone else can have the joys of Jessica Stanley’s lust. Though he does notice he can’t read Beauford’s thoughts, which is strange.
Like Bella, Edward undoubtedly thinks Beauford is at first highly overrated, just like all the other mindless teenagers in Forks, and rather plain (from his narration, Edward likes blondes and lighter eyes).
The Rest
Biology happens, it’s a disaster, Beauford has no idea what he did to get Edward to loathe him so much but this time Mike isn’t in any way sympathetic. Instead, Mike just can’t believe he and Cullen seem to agree on something for once.
Edward flees to Alaska, decides he won’t lose to Hamburger, and comes back to do damage control. And we start mirroring canon a lot here. Edward has varying conversations with Beauford, is intoxicated by his very scent, and starts projecting an almost saint like personality onto him. Edward grows increasingly obsessed, starts creeping into Beauford’s room at night to protect him from spiders, etc.
The difference being that Edward is utterly convinced that what he and Beauford share is the highest platonic ideal of friendship. They are platonic soulmates, all other friendships pale in comparison to them, they are intellectual peers and artists.
This is even when they still go to the meadow, Edward kidnaps Beauford in Port Angeles for Italian dinner (despite Beaufrod not having been nearly raped without Edward’s intervention), Beauford is invited to the Cullen house, and more.
Beauford, being Bella levels of oblivious, also has no idea this is a romantic relationship. Likely, what he feels at first and is driven by is a strong sense of kinship with Edward. As Edward is also an intellectual outsider hated by the male half of the school. Beauford’s been there, bro.
However, like Bella with Alice, he appreciates small details of Edward’s vampiric physical appearance, enjoys staring at Edward’s perfect face, and really digs that vampire smell.
I imagine, beyond what happened in Twilight things like the following occur: Edward constantly sketches Beauford in unintentionally (but secretly intentional) erotic positions with no clothes (this is art!), Edward leers at Beauford changing in his bedroom because “we’re both men”, Edward insists on discussing Beauford’s future bride with Beauford and imagines the most perfect woman in the world while also imagining smashing her head in like a melon.
But I imagine most of the Twilight plot points happen. The difference being that everyone is very confused on why these two can’t admit they’re dating. Rosalie probably bringing up very valid points of “Edward, if you want this guy to go date someone else then you can’t monopolize his life” and Edward telling her to stop being so petty and jealous of Beauford’s beauty. Aro, I imagine, just dies in New Moon and has no idea what to say when Beauford returns from the dead because it’s not, “Oh look, the lovers reunited! Ah, right, I forgot, they’re just friends. Yes...”
The other difference being, as I strongly suspect that without Renesmee Edward would never have turned Bella (Renesmee really forces that issue as Bella actually dies before Edward turns her), that he would have eventually eaten Beauford as Alice predicted.
But he’d be so delicious.

Hello!!
I'm back again with another ask, I'm just very excited to see a blog that interprets Gojou in the same manner as me (lol I think I follow like 4 blogs for Gojou content) and writes him in a manner that I really vibe with and such! Also! I know my asks are long so please don't feel the need to answer right away, take your time!!
Yes, yes! I do think that Gojou is introspective, but he's just so round about and awkward when it comes to expressing his emotions, pls he's so sad and pathetic (affectionate) (altho! I think this aspect of him makes him very human in a story that emphasizes his power and god-likeness so much, y'know?)
And omg yes! HS Gojou would have been the biggest tsundere!! I completely agree with you there!! Pls he would be all loud and jokey and just an overall menace to you, but inside, his heart is beating like crazy, and his brain cells are fighting for their lives, it takes his all his will power to not combust LOLLL pls he's so ridiculous, I love him 🥺
Gojou being extra touchy and clingy my beloved 💗 I just know that Gojou is soooo touch starved, and that when reader breaks down his walls, and is physically affectionate with him, he like descends into the clouds, he would become so addicted to their touch, and being without it would be torture for him (lol I think I could write like a whole essay on Gojou being touched stared 😭) and he would be so whiny and pouty when you don't give him attention, a whole man child honestly LMFAO
LOL your tag about shoujo always having a special place in your heart is ASHGAFIOBHADF, cuz SAME, I've read so many shoujo manga, and watched so many kdramas and 90s bollywood movies that have just filled my brain with romantic fantasies LMAOASLAFB And I think it is very apparent because the very first fic that I wrote for Gojou a few months ago was soo shoujo-esque in its just overall vibes, and even the one I'm working on right now has like shojou-esque vibes and scenes, and even when I draw Gojou, I draw him in a shoujo-esque manner (I had a moot tag a sketch of him as shoujo gojo LOL) anyways all of this is to say is that I totally support your shoujo agenda, and that Gojou should be written as the lovesick and insane and obsessive and pathetic male lead of a shoujo manga 💗
Ahhh I'm glad you liked my dad Gojou drawing!! He is very dear to me, and while I think that Dad Gojou would not be a perfect father, he would do his best, and make sure that his children feel very loved and adored ASKJAS idk if Gege will give Gojou a happy ending, but in my little ame-universe, I will give him a happy and loving family and a thousand happy endings and more 🥺💗(LOL I have fully accepted and embraced the fact that I am SOFT for Gojou ALIFOBJADG)
Also your tag about 'gojo's breeding kink > gojo' like no you're right, I get it and totally agree with you there AVHDOIBHDBALBFDBHDB
Also thank you for explaining the pun! I found it really interesting, and now I'm just sitting here and wondering if Gojou is just walking around making puns all the time, and if that is another reason added to Megumi's growing list of why he finds Gojou annoying LOL (altho on a serious note, I wish the official english translations included this note because I think something as small as this adds to Gojou's overall character especially since Gege I think does a really good job of showing his characters in a few lines, but alas, 😭)
Ahhh this ask also got out of control LOL but thank you for listening to me rant about Gojou! I'm having a lot of fun talking about him with you!! 🥺💗
the two of us talking about gojo is literally that clown to clown communication meme i have somewhere in my phone gallery
i think especially when it comes to love hs gojo was like. i will just Not Think About It. and then proceeds to do the worst thing ever to sabotage his chances of ever getting together (rip!mc is oblivious but gojo is also 100% at fault) like it's honestly CLOWN behavior how much he pretends he's not affected by anything but he IS and he makes a fool out of himself everytime!!!!
i feel like clingy touch starved gojo is the one thing the fandom CAN come to a consensus on and it's hilarious bc i bet he is so unbearable about it and makes it everyone's business how much he misses his s/o to the point where they're like just go.
also sooo true about shoujo manga. i think we SHOULD romanticize this man to make him bearable. make him smitten. make him pathetic. make him your poor little meow meow. as a treat. "Gojou should be written as the lovesick and insane and obsessive and pathetic male lead of a shoujo manga" so true bestie so true. i knew we were kindred spirits when you said that in your first ask amen.
and yes!!!!! your drawing definitely had shoujo vibes it was adorable!!!!!! gojo would NOT be a perfect dad i agree but he would try his best so he gets points for that ig.....

Do the salty ask list but with les miserables
Like, all of them? Kay!
Under the cut bc this is long
What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?* Logically I wanna say JehanParnasse, but then everyone has their weird Montparnasse ships, right? Including me. Javert/Cosette is another.
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?* Yeah, a few. Courfeyrac/Prouvaire is the one that first springs to mind.
Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion? Yep.
Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?* E/R is a NoTP purely because the popular characterisation is bland and out of character. I actually like Enjolras and Grantaire’s dynamic in the book and musical, but the e/R seen commonly in fandom tends to be nothing like it.
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?* See above.
Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?* Ehhhh.... not really?
Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?* ‘Can’t stand’ is a bit hyperbolic, but e/é. In my defence I was literally 11 when I did like it, and now I’m just wholly ambivalent.
Have you received anon hate? What about?* HAHAHAHAHAHA. Where do I start? Some of my greatest anon hate hits include: - being told I’m misogynistic for cosplaying female characters - being accused of being racist because I thought a wardrobe decision made for an eponine actress was odd (I think it was that her hat was oversized and was swallowing her face or something like that) - being told I’m transphobic because I, a trans man, am not fond of how fandom as a whole treats trans headcanons - being told I’m homophobic because I don’t ship e/R - being accused of whitewashing my own eponine design because my design has some similarities with bbc Eponine’s despite the fact I’ve been drawing her like that since like, 2015.
Most disliked character(s)? Why? Thenardier, for what I hope are obvious reasons.
Most disliked arc? Why? Fantine’s, purely because it makes me desperately sad. Yes, I know that’s the whole point. That poor woman deserved so much better.
Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? Idk there’s so many characters in Les Mis there’s subsets of fandom who like everyone. Obvious ones are Marius and Cosette, though Cosette hate in the fandom has decreased a lot since the days of yore.
Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? I don’t really know about this one tbh.
Unpopular opinion about XXX character? No specific character was given so I’m just gonna... Eponine wants stability and a ‘normal’ life where she has enough food, a roof over her head, and nice clothes to wear. I don’t like how often she gets translated to a mean, salty bisexual in fanon, and I’m allowed to say that because I am also a mean, salty bisexual.
Unpopular opinion about your fandom? I miss when people would be unashamed nerds about canon era. I remember reading threads upon threads on Abaissé (rip) about meta and research that people had done. The enthusiasm doesn’t seem to be much there anymore, but I think that’s also largely because fandom ballooned after 2013.
Unpopular opinion about the manga/show? BBC Les Mis sucked, we all know that. Shojou Cosette is one of my favourite adaptations and I recommend literally everyone to watch that instead.
If you could change anything in the show, what would you change? Taking ‘show’ to mean the musical, give Cosette a bloody song! (Also get rid of the ‘new’ production and bring back the old one. Good god the nunn/caird production was so much better)
Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen… Instead of Georges dying he gets to reconnect with his son ;-;
Does not shipping something ‘popular’ mean you’re in denial and/or biased? Nope, it just means you like different things.
What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom? I have to pick?
What is the purest ship in the fandom? Eh... pure ships are boring. Unless they’re Valjean/Fauchelevent.
What are your thoughts on crack ships? Crack ships are the best ships. Done well they are incredibly entertaining.
Popular character you hate? I don’t really...hate any characters? Except Thenardier and Gillenormand, lol. And somehow I don’t think they’re anyone’s fave?
Unpopular character you love? Mabeuf, though he’s unpopular through lack of exposure rather than people disliking him.
Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not? Hell yes I recommend it! I get salty about stuff but Les Mis is my favourite story, like, ever. Not just my favourite show, not just my favourite book. It’s my favourite story. The characters, the plot, the themes. Everything about it has been a major part of my life for ten years now, if I think it would bring joy to someone else in that way, you can bet I’d recommend it.  I’m including the book in that. It’s a long read which requires a degree of commitment (it takes me months at a time), but it’s worth it.
How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX? Does Valjean not dying count? ;-;
Most shippable character? Answered this already, still saying Marius
Least shippable character? Uh... Gavroche, I guess? Bc he’s a kid?

Shoujo manga adaptations
Oresama Teacher manga ended and still no anime adaptation in sight lol I am salty. If it was going to get one it would be during its run 🥲 Its my favorite reverse harem manga the other one was ohshc. Gekkan shoujo nozaki kun got one and its a 4 koma manga that started after her long form plot manga. (No hate love gsnk)💗
Idk what its about shoujo/romance manga not getting anime adaptations or even finishing the plot up from those stories but its pretty sizeable.🙄
Ouran highschool host club ( 1 season 83 chp )
Skip beat (1 season has 250+ chp)
Gakuen Alice
Yona of the dawn (1 season 80+)
Tsubaki lonely planet (76 chapters)(mangaka still making another series with that length Hirunaka no Ryuusei)
Dengeki daisy(75 chp)
Maidsama ( 1 season 88 chp)
There's alot more but you get my point regardless of quality I think if a manga can last 70 to 80 chp in the industry there should be more adaptations or at least some more recognition in other works. At most drama cd are all you get. With the exception of ohshc n skip beat got live action adaptations.
Whats so agreggous to me is that roughly
Oresama teacher is 12 to 13 years old with 150 + chapters and its plot is very suitable for general audiences. Even people who don't like romance can get into the plot because it doesn't emphasize love so much as it does comradery and friendship. There's action scenes and mysterious crap going on all happening in a light hearted manner.
Skip beat is probably one of the longest ongoing shojou manga right now with 15 years ongoing. Despite that being way too long for a love story there are arcs just like any other shounen and its crazy how it only ever got one season.
I'm focusing alot on shoujo manga might be an industry problem i would do more research but just really sad that all these manga won't get attention cuz they weren't adapted. I can't tell u the number of times I've read a manga cuz of an anime. I have hope though horimiya finally got an anime adaptation and I'm just living for it!

Hero Yandere VS Villain Yandere
Hello again! Today we’re going to be talking about a Hero yandere vs a Villainous one. I think this topic has been discussed before, but I mean we can always discuss it again! I’ll be taking note of @thatyanderecritic‘s posts on Selfless Yanderes Vs. Selfless Yanderes and the discussion of yanderes from @violetosprey  and @thatyanderecritic’s Redeemable Yanderes, so if you haven’t read that, you might wanna at least skim it so you know what I’m talking about during certain points.
Before I go on, I want to clarify what I mean by a Hero and a Villain yandere. A “Hero” yandere is not necessarily a protagonist character and a “villain” yandere isn’t necessarily the antagonist.  In general, a hero yandere is one that the story wants you to root for while a villain yandere is one that the story wants you to be against. For instance, a hero yandere is a character like Onyu from Metronome or a character like  Satō Matsuzaka from Sugar Life. In general, these are characters, who, while definitely not the most moral of characters, are ones that we root for. Meanwhile, a villian yandere is a character like Mandarin Kim from Cherry Boy, That Girl or Kish from Tokyo Mew Mew. Of course, it doesn’t mean that villian yanderes can’t be rooted for, it just means that they are rooted against in the story.
So first, let’s talk about Hero Yanderes. According to u/Thenamesevan Writing Yandere Characters: Part Three - Heroic/Romantic Yanderes, “A heroic/romantic yandere stands a pretty good chance of having a legitimately happy ending with their beloved.” and “A crucial part of writing a heroic yandere is that, unlike the other two mentioned, there must be a greater threat to our protagonist than this character.” I think both of these tend to be pretty true if you’re writing a yandere that is the hero of the story. Unless the yandere either sacrifices themselves for their loved one or somehow dies suddenly in the story, the yandere hero tends to have a good ending with their loved one.
The second part deserves its own paragraph because I’m going to talk about this a lot more. If you think back to a lot of the different types of hero yanderes, the reason why we root for them is because the yandere is the best case scenario for the s/o. While the s/o may not like being with the yandere, as compared to possible other outcomes for the s/o, being with the yandere is the best case of survival.  For instance in the case of Onyu and Satō, the greater threat for Onyu is the “curse” that is on Yuna and for Satō the outside world (mainly people who might take away Shio) from Shio. For Onyu’s case, the threat of this “curse” means that Yuna would die, and because Yuna is our main protagonist, plus the fact that the other people who are trying to get Yuna would most likely hurt her either physically or mentally (from what I can remember), thus we will root for him. In the case of Satō, while we could possibly be rooting for another character in the series, we root for her because in this scenario Satō is the best case scenario for Shio, in that she gives her a lot of love and provides a good household for her. The reason why a lot of cases tend to be “yandere vs outside forces” is because generally yanderes aren’t built to be heroic characters. Yanderes are written usually to characters that are two-faced and malicious and have a one track mind for their s/o. Usually the term “love-sick” isn’t one that you would correlate to a heroic type. So to make them a more “heroic” character, usually you’d have to have something worse that you would have to fight against. Usually in this case, the s/o has to deal with really terrible circumstances and the only way they can come out alive is if they team up with the yandere. Sometimes the s/o doesn’t even know that the character they team up with is a yandere, like in the case of Worldend: Debugger, where the s/o doesn’t know that the yandere is a yandere, yet we still root for the both of them because of the scenario they are in.
Now, of course a heroic yandere doesn’t necessarily have to team up with the s/o. In some cases, we would root for the yandere and not for their s/o to win. For instance if the s/o were a extremely evil person, like a mafia member or serial killer and the yandere wants to keep the s/o for themselves by locking them up in their house. While both of these actions are evil, if the yandere is written correctly, we could make the yandere a more heroic yandere type. For instance, if the s/o was a sort of demon that brought humans into an apocalyptic downfall. The yandere, for one reason or another, wishes to stay with the s/o forever by caging them underground so they would be with them forever. Along the way, the yandere is met with human resistance who want to bring the world back to what is was. Meanwhile, the s/o demon wishes to snuff out every last human so that they can take over the world. This scenario also encompasses the “best case scenario” as I’ve put it before. While the yandere is in the wrong for wanting to kidnap their s/o forever against their will, the s/o is a much worse scenario, especially if they completely wipe out the human race and cause the world into ruin. We would root for the yandere in this scenario because they are the “better case” as compared to what would happen if they didn’t.
This doesn’t really have to be a life or death situation either. This can also be shown in a shoujo manga for example. Hananoi kun to koi no yamai’s Hananoi, Miniamaru Kareshi’s Kusakabe and even Koharu no hibi’s Koharu. In many of these cases, the “yandere” in question is considered good, even if they are strange or obsessive. While generally it can be difficult to have a male yandere “heroic” character in a shojou (since shojous tends to be focused on more slice of life activities and romantic aspects, and hopefully murdering people isn’t part of your normal day activities), that again, doesn’t mean its impossible. However, we might still need to consider the “best case scenario” if you want to keep some of the darker actions of a yandere. For instance, a shoujo about a girl who has a really bad time with dating since all of the people she dates suddenly break up with them. She always gets comforted by a friend who always has the best interest in mind for her. As it turns out this friend is the cause of all of the break ups. However, the reason why the friend forces breakup on all of the guys she dates isn’t simply because he’s in love with the girl, but also because all of the guys she dates want to use her for money or other things. It becomes this friend’s goal get rid of all the people she dates as none of them want an actual relationship with her. In this case, we would root for this yandere as he is a “heroic type” and is trying to get rid of the people she dates to help her in her well being.
Or perhaps we can turn to redeemed yanderes. See, told you that link on top was semi important! Anyways, redeemed yanderes are basically yanderes that give up their yandere ways, either by having a loving healthy relationship with their loved ones or giving them up so they can be happy. Generally, this is also another case of a “heroic yandere”. In this case, it really is the best scenario as in this case they’ve “outgrown” their yandere phase and will have a happy (or relatively happy) relationship with their s/o. Usually this means that the yandere has a redemption arc and probably has done something bad before having this redemption. In general, these tend to be more difficult to write, but have better characterizations than, say, a yandere from a oneshot. I’m not going to go super deep into them right now, since that’s a topic that other people have gone through already and it would make this way more longer than it already is ( perhaps a future post) but I will say that it can be and is probably is the best kind of heroic yandere.
Now that I’ve had my long discussion on heroic yanderes, we’re going to turn to the villianous ones instead. Now again, villianous yanderes are ones that the story wants us to be against. Now, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t well written or sympathetic. For instance, Madarin Kim, while not redeemable nor agreeable in his actions, has understandable reasons why he is like the way he is. His clinginess and obsessiveness of Strawberry come from his neglect from his parents, and leaves him extremely scared of people trying to leave him. In many cases,  villain yanderes are considered villains because they go against the s/o, and often they tend to be extremely selfish and manipulative. In a lot of cases, these characters tend to be morally in the wrong, and if they are one shot yandere villains, either reform or die in the part that they were in.  Villain yanderes tend to not have much character development, and their motives and reasons for falling in love with the s/o tend to be misplaced. Usually the reason they’re attached to their s/o is related to their past, usually neglect tends to be the main reason, but it can also be other things like being reborn, having a condition, really a lot of things. Their actions for trying to be with their s/o are often pretty malicious. If it’s not something like murdering people, they might do something such as brainwashing, manipulating blackmailing or really any other kind of means to get with their s/o.In many cases, these yanderes tend to be very two faced, having a softer/ other personality and then their yandere one. In many instances, the s/o and even the audience doesn’t know that these yanderes are villains until later on in the story. A yandere’s characterization is usually aligned with a villainous character anyways, thus it makes perfect sense that yanderes end up in villain like role in one way or another.
However, the villain yandere might not be really considered a “villain” at all. The only real requirement of a villain yandere is one that the story wants you to root against or the s/o is trying to go against. This means that morally, the villain yandere might not be much of a villain and may resemble more of a hero. This can be a bit difficult to pull off as like I’ve said before, yanderes tend to end up in a villain like role and are usually more malicious than good. But in this kind of situation, it usually means that the s/o would be more morally in the wrong. If you mix this up with a good premise/ goal, then this story would work.
For instance, an example would be a story about a delinquent girl in a gang and a yandere police officer trying to stop her. The delinquent girl and her gang are constantly beating up people to a pulp and destroying property and the police officer is trying to stop her. Perhaps the officer is trying to convince the delinquent girl to live with him and become reformed in the hopes that she will date him. He could have yandere tendencies like attempting to stalk her so she doesn’t get hurt or arresting/shooting people that might destroy her future or might hurt her and are considered dangerous criminals. The delinquent girl then perhaps doesn’t want to be with the police officer because perhaps she doesn’t believe in the police force and is trying to reform it, or perhaps must find a younger sister or a special item that can only be created through violence. In this scenario, we would see the police officer isn’t morally in the wrong after all, he is still doing justice for the city, but we would also see why we would be against the police officer, as it would mean that the delinquent might not achieve her goals. We could also make the delinquent more sympathetic and the police officer more morally gray if we wanted to round their characters out more. For instance if the delinquent made a promise with their parents to take care of her sister and the police officers goal of “getting rid of crime in the city” was based off of something in their past that they couldn’t go against and were willing to become more violent and ruthless to get rid of them, thus them trying to turn the delinquent into a more harmless person.
Anyways, I hope you like this post! If you have anything else you’d like me to analyze for yanderes please tell me.

Sailor Moon The Super Live Report - August 31st (first performance, heart team)
Place: Aiia Theatre Placement: Row 10, Seat 42 (middle, far right)
First, I swore I wasn’t going to buy merch and am SO glad they had so little on offer ;; I bought the pamphlet (which is basically a double sided poster, one of the main image and the other side being info with pics of the different teams) and the light stick.
Second, the show isn’t sold out. Sure, it started a little early (7pm) but it was a Friday night and opening night of a mega popular franchise? Strange for it not to have been sold out, especially since the theatre isn’t that big. (For reference, I was in row 10, seat 42, and the seat next to me was empty, as were others around me). There have been a lot of events and new merch recently though, so I can understand.
They’re also still selling tickets at the door, and are giving out freebies. Little bookmark things of the Inner Senshi with manga art (one of each Senshi, randomly given). They’re quite nice! Another enticement is different events happening after each performance. On opening night they randomly selected about twenty people to have photos with the cast. There is also a high five event on other nights, and it looks like they give out goods on other nights.
The show is VERY dialogue light. As in, there is maybe five minutes worth of dialogue the entire show (not including the live performance part). And that’s incredibly generous. This is understandable – this show is only doing two showings in France, so the effort to translate would be a lot. It’s not cost effective. The audience also more than likely knows the story. The story is the first arc, hugely condensed. I think it worked quite well without a whole lot of dialogue. The cast had to work that much harder on facial expressions and their body language to make up for not speaking.
The show is 80 minutes long. There is no interval. After the play part, there is a song part.
Now, onto the show!
We start off with Queen Beryl and her minions. She’s controlling them and their dancing. Like, SeraMyu is great and I love it, but there is still part of it that’s stuck in years gone by. This is very modern. I don’t really know or care who Takahiro is, but he did a good job! The music and dance throughout the performance is really good! It’s very modern. Perhaps because it was opening night, sometimes the music felt too loud. Not in a good way, but in a it sometimes makes the cast hard to hear way.
Anyway, they’re dancing, kinda like cool zombies? The scenery changes on a screen behind them, showing the battle for earth. Kunzite appears and shows off his sword before taking command of the troops. Unfortunately, the sword was almost dropped… We see a screen of Usagi running – it’s kinda clumsy and ugly, but it reminds me of the live action show, which I’m very fond of, so I can’t be too harsh on it. Beryl then attacks this screen, and we come to earth, present time.
Usagi yells about being late and runs through the audience. Her entrance is GORGEOUS! Why? She’s got glitter in her school bag, so as she runs, glitter is flying everywhere. It’s super shojou and anime. Very simple and cheap, but literally everyone was smiling. I feel bad for the staff who had to clean it up though haha
She stumbles on stage and drops her brooch, and keeps going. Mamoru picks it up, teases her and as she grabs it, they start to remember their old lives. Of course, that’s weird and Usagi’s late, so she grabs her brooch and goes. They part, but then stop, turn to look at each other, and are about to go back to each other when the music starts and sends them on their way. An instrumental version of Moonlight Densetsu plays. As it plays, it shows the characters and gives their names – interestingly, the names are Romanised instead of being in katakana, and the images shown are manga panels. It makes sense not to use the live images, as there are three teams, but I wonder why they choose manga over anime. I honestly think it was a great choice though.
We get a brief scene of Sailor Moon fighting a monster. She’s dodging and crying, but she also fights back. She also cheers for herself when she gets a good hit in, which is super cute. Makes her a very human character. Tuxedo Mask does save her and gives her a chance to fight back, and she runs off after him.
It’s time for school! Miss Haruna makes her appearance~ Honestly her look is iconic (the pink suit) and I love that they brought her back. The students do a dance as they start their daily routine and test results are returned. It’s pretty cute, though too long for me to care about. Usagi rushes in, gets scolded, realises she doesn’t have her textbook, is scolded again, isn’t able to share with her friends, steals Haruna’s book, and joins in on the dance while doing all of this.
Of course, things are going fine until everyone is suddenly infected with Dark Energy (a la Kunzite lurking in the corner). Cue zombie dancing again. This, again, went on slightly too long. It wasn’t particularly good, and the costumes were a little tacky – essentially the stage was mostly dark and certain parts of the zombies/infected people lit up (glow in the dark socks and so on). Usgai basically runs around screaming for a while until Tuxedo Mask comes to save her. Understandable – she doesn’t want to hurt her friends or transform in front of everyone.
Unfortunately, Tuxedo Mask dropped their cane and stepped on it, almost falling. She caught herself really well, so props to the actress there. (I believe it was this scene – could have been the arcade scene)
She fawns over Tuxedo Mask again and after the day is saved, class is over. Everyone leaves as Usagi daydreams with these ridiculous heart eyes. A scene that reminded me of the theme park episode from the 90’s anime – they have a sort of carousel thing going on, and it’s very fairy tale like. It was very nostalgic to see it and remember the old anime.
Afterwards she meets up with everyone who scolds her for being late. They sing about how they met – a very cute and sweet song. Then suddenly we’re in Harajuku!
This part is sort of odd if you live in Japan. Since this production was made for showing Japanese culture abroad, for the Japanese audience, this didn’t have a lot of meaning for the home audience. It was also horribly outdated. The gothic Lolita outfits were ugly and super outdated, and I don’t really associate Harajuku with gothic Lolita. Nowadays it’s a variety of different looks and it would have been super nice to see a variety of styles shown, as well as styles that are from this decade ;; The outfits that the Senshi changed into were ugly clown like outfits and I hate them too.
However, it was a nice attempt in showing off a variety of Japanese things. For example, the girls do a bit of traditional dance (fitting for Bon Odori at this time of year) and also eat fairy floss (cotton candy) and crepes that Harajuku is famous for (at least on Instagram ;p). They also have the dancing with the light sticks, which… isn’t a Harajuku thing ;; More of an Akiba thing, but it’ll slide!
Usagi is separated from the group and ends up the arcade. Mamoru teases her for being so bad, and plays himself. He gets a high score and they high five, before they both remember they’re meant to hate each other. Kunzite is in a mascot outfit, shakes his bottom at Usagi who touches it and shows her a new game to play. I’m… not sure why this was necessary? I mean, it’s low key great, and bizarre, especially because Kunzite initiates it? I just… don’t understand it…
Mamoru is sucked into the Sailor V game, and keeps getting beaten up because Usagi sucks so much. He’s trying to get her attention but she’s too focussed on trying to win ;; She gets better in the second round and Tux is pleasantly surprised. He then promptly dies ;;; On her third attempt, Kunzite throws her into the game too.
The Senshi appear to fight. Their introduction song is honestly a fave of mine. I believe it (and all of the songs) are remixes of old songs (both anime and musical). If I find out which ones they are I’ll edit this post (I currently don’t have internet at home..). This scene is pretty good. Unlike some of the other dance scenes which drag, this scene, through song, tells about the characters and their powers.
Tuxedo Mask is taken away, and everyone is unsure of how to comfort Sailor Moon. I think it’s fitting that Venus is about to step in, but Mercury ends up talking to her first. And by talking, I mean singing Otome Policy. A lot of the performances are predictable in that they go by the order of which the Senshi appeared, so it would have been nice to have that shaken up a bit, but it’s not that big of a deal.
In Beryl’s world, Tuxedo Mask is possessed. Beryl is very pleased and they start to tango. The actress is wonderful – Tux is possessed, but isn’t fully under Beryl’s influence, so there’s point he tries to break free or doesn’t follow along. This was pretty believable! Beryl, on the other hand, is unconcerned – she’s in control and enjoying having the man she wants with her. Meanwhile, Kunzite lurks in the corner.
They teleport to Beryl’s world where they fight Kunzite and his creepy zombies. Honestly if someone aggressively danced their way at me I’d be terrified lol! Kunzite is super strong, and takes down all of the Senshi. Venus gets her sword and fights Kunzite, but they both remember their past. Beryl isn’t impressed and he ends up dead.
This scene was really touching. I felt a lot for her. They show Kunzite’s soul floating away, and her following it briefly, trying to catch it. She realises it’s no use. Everyone goes to comfort her, even though they don’t particularly know what’s going on.
They then have to fight monsters and Mask. Honestly, everyone except Moon and Venus should have been stronger than they were. Venus just got an unwelcomed flashback from her past life and lost her former boyfriend, so it’s understandable when she fails. Moon is fighting the love of her life. Everyone else felt a bit weak.
The Senshi end up dying, and Beryl kills Mask when he responds to Usagi.
Usagi is left with Beryl, and kind of… interpretative dances her feelings out? The start is a little long and messy, but as she starts to go from no confidence, I’ve lost everything, why try?, to I have to do this, I can do this… it’s amazing. She’s taking all of Beryl’s hits and throwing them off and is the strong Sailor Moon we all love.
Beryl tries to suck her up with her darkness, and Sailor Moon walks straight in. She comes back out with her new Moon Stick, glowing brightly. She beats Beryl and dies? But Tuxedo Mask brings her back with a kiss. The other Senshi return as well.
Unfortunately, Mask accidentally turned the Moon Stick back on ;;; I don’t think it really need to be turned off in the first place. (Especially because it looks very ugly and cheap turned off – it’s also silver, when I think pink would be better suited) But that marks the end of all the obvious mistakes. For a first try, it isn’t so bad! I think they could have been fixed easily, with perhaps a bit of design done differently.
From here, there are some quick bows before the song portion.
Song part When it comes to singing, everyone was really good. However, Sailor Venus (Sena) stood out. Perhaps I’m a little bit biased, as Sena is the reason I chose this team over the others, but still. The others faltered a bit at times, or their mics weren’t properly in position, or their voices weren’t loud enough. Sena wasn’t perfect, but out of everyone, her voice was the clearest and most confident.
The songs were all really good choices. There were a few repeats of what was already in the show, most notably Otome Policy in a more pop version rather than the piano version from earlier.
Of course, I’m incredibly biased, but the best song was La Solider~ It’s honestly one of my favourite songs and I’m so so so glad they played it!
They left the stage to come back briefly for a few more songs. In between some of the songs were the dancers getting a bit of stage time, which was nice. Those girls do some really cool stuff, so it’s nice for them to get their dues.
Of course, everything ended with Moonlight Densetsu. Most the characters got solo or duet lines. This is the part where they ran around the audience, giving high fives. I was so close, yet so far T.T Buuuuut Sailor Venus blew me a kiss, so nothing else really matters haha~
We all got a little gift (clear bookmark?) and I got Moon. Some people in the audience were allowed to take pictures with the members. About twenty people I think? How lucky! I waited around with other fans to try and see the actresses as they left, but gave up in the end. It was a good night, and I’m really glad I went!
Summary Enjoyable: 5/5 Worth the ticket price: 5/5 Re-watchable: 4/5 If this was sold on dvd, would I buy it: 3.5/5

Hello! Today's Note is about an anime! One that took me by surprise as I had expected...well I'll talk about it down below. But it really made me feel interested in watching some more anime in a time I was feeling not too crazy about doing so anymore. Which is you know sounds like a lot but it's really something that I contemplate whenever a new isekai comes out. I'm mostly kidding...
But this is a real post about what I found made Apothacary Diaries well worth the watch and hope that you check it out too.
Tumblr media
As a historical fiction I love that apothecary diaries feels like something more than just a drama-comedy. It feels a lot like a good shojou manga does. There's good humor, there's some tense moments between characters and there's also a bit of really nice overall storytelling. It in some ways reminds me of Ouran. Where there's just this really nice progression introducing you to all the characters and the pacing between humor and drama is really nicely done and flows in a fairly natural progression. It never feels too forced into the next change of atmosphere. My favorite example of this is probably in episode 4, where not even a whole scene away from when we get some funny expressions from Lady Lihua's ladies in waiting, we also get a super dramatic scene of Maomao chastising them. There's this sense of momentum and change that is brought all the time and even when tensions feel high it doesn't deflate just because there is some humor mixed in. I've noticed this kind of slow in the later episodes but a part of that feels like it's as a result of the climax arriving rather than various directorial issues that usually plague most adaptations.
The story is fairly blunt with the darker topics at times and is definitely interested in being able to present those topics without judgement. It's a story literally about an apothecary who works as a lady in waiting to the concubines of the emperor. The way the characters and story don't shy around certain topics reminds me a lot actually of the way a lot of shojou used to have really sad or dark themes for their cheerful characters to explain how they got to how they were. Mao Mao embodies this a little differently than those characters did but still has those aspects. That's probably why I make the Ouran comparison actually, not because the stories are at all similar but because the characters and storytelling feels familiar. Maomao reminds me a lot of Haru, where both are very a matter of fact in the way they talk about stuff and of their situations. There are things they are genuinely interested in and when it comes to those things they work hard to have time or (in haru's case) be able to afford those things.
Now this isn't to say you should just watch Ouran if you want to watch Apothacary. It's a very different story and is much snappier than Ouran even at times. If you like the elements of Ouran's storytelling, and are wanting a strong, but not literally strong, female protagonist, I'd really recommend Apothecary! Honestly I was not planning on watching it. Even when a lot of the stuff going around of it was really good looking, I was worried that the hype for it was over blown. That somehow there was one really good scene like 5 or 6 episodes in, but that the rest of it would be kind of meh. Most people recommend shows being like “just wait till episode X, then it gets really good” but Apothacary got me from the start. It was so good and in many ways, I just want more. I've even considered picking up the light novel over the manga to see how much I can see of the anime in the light novel. I've gotten one other light novel recently and it really reads like an anime. The characters attitudes and reactions feel very anime even without the animations to go with it. So I'm rather curious to see how something so popular feels to read compared to watch. The only reason I don't want to check the manga as well is becuase I've considered that I need to give some written stories another go and light novels feel like they're just similar enough in genre to be that for me.
Now I'm gonna talk about a couple of the finer details like story or animation, so if you don't want spoilers that's all I've got for you. Just know it's great, it's worth the watch and it won't waste your time!
So the thing that sort if hooked me from the start of the story is Maomao. As she says by the end of the episode, her sense of justice is what brings her to act as she does. I think in a lot of ways this makes her both very outspoken but she also knows how to hold back, or more specifically ‘when’. Being as the show is a capturing of her diary, a lot of her thoughts and actions are explained as they happen or as she thought them through. That said there's no like…writing in the diary. I almost forgot that was what the show was about until several episodes in what a date change and the seasons turned. It felt like a noting of small events that happened. It didn't break my feeling of immersion though, rather it felt nice to be invested enough to simply go with the flow that the show naturally established.
Everything is generally told from Maomao's perspective, there are a few times other characters get to be the focus for dramatics but Maomao's thoughts push through a lot of the events that occur and hold the most attention. This also allows us the chance to see some of her memories in a way she'd naturally remember them. Sometimes it's just the quick thought of a time someone told her something, like when the women of the brothel told her about things men enjoy and she shared that with Lihue. The way she remembers it has this hard set incomplete underlighting, and there's this sense of a nice bit of tactile memory of the girls playing with her hair while having the conversation. The show also makes great use of lighting by the way. That scene I mentioned looks like that because of the way the lighting plays off everything compared to the cut just before of her in the well lit pavilion. There are other times where characters are illuminated in a manner that feels dramatic and yet more real for it. The lighting in episode 3, where a concubine catches qualities of sleep walking, is a perfect example of what I mean. There's really great backlighting when Concubine Fuyou is dancing across the wall, when she's leaving and finally when she and her lover are together. There's excellent blues at night that feel cold yet beautiful and then harsh lightings in tense times and soft blowouts of light in others. It’s one of those bits of animation you tend not to notice if it’s not totally outstanding or adding something deeper to the atmosphere.
Out of all 11 episodes out at this time, I’d say this 11th is the only one that felt a little disappointing. It felt story rushed and like we didn’t get to really know Ah-Doh the way we did a lot of the other concubines, even if it was second hand in most cases. She gets a little conversation by the end but is likly not to be seen beyond this (I assume as I haven’t seen the manga nor light novel) so it doesn’t feel as powerful as it could have. The way others talk about her is still impressive, it just hasn’t given the feeling that she got to share herself as much as she could have. By that I mean we hear about Ah-Dou from everyone else and when she gets a chance to talk to Maomao, we learn just enough about to start feeling like we understand why those around her are so in love with her as a person. Certain aspects hinted at make me feel like it’s not the only time we’ll see her again but it’s just as likely, as i said, that she could never be seen again due to the nature of writing and development at times. Sometimes a character can only exist for a portion of the plot in order to introduce the main character to a different aspect of the story and it’s sad that is what Ah-Dou felt like. What they did give her wasn’t bad though and although the episode feels rushed to resolve the plot, it’s still highly emotional.
Those are the few things I really wanted to make significant note of with detail of spoilery parts. I think if you’re thinking it’s just a historical romance, you’re not giving it enough credit. Theres is some really wonderful character writing, humor, and drama wrapped up in Apothacary Diaries and the anime has done a great job making me realize that. So I really wish you the best in starting the show if you do. Sorry I don’t have a way to wrap this up more that saying, “yeah it’s great and pretty check it out” but thats really all I’ve got! It’s a show that seems to speak for itself.

Natas Liah/Nt'Liasiah

Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Blind Idiot God"
Gender: Demigender Female/Nonbinary
Pronouns: She/her/herself/they/them/themself/crepe/crepes/crepeself/spam/spammer/spamself/bee/bees/beeself
Sexuality: Pansexual Demiromantic
Species: Outer God, Fallen Seraphim (facsimile)
Height: 5'6" / 1'00"
Age: Technically immortal, but she's emotionally 16-years-old.
Description: The malevolent deity that reigns over various universes, considered a God of Interference to those aware of their existence. They are Azathoth's "dream self", their own consciousness placed inside the universe that is dreamt of by this cosmic entity, and using their abilities, they infect other universes and mold it to their own liking.
Personality: "Little Shit" is a good term to describe this god. She's cunning and malicious towards the characters she puppets, showing a level of entitlement to be able to command them. If she finds something about a universe she hates, she'll take it and either destroy it, then rebuild it, or infect it with her own blessings to completely change it.
However towards other gods of equal power to crepe, or those crepe finds "friends" or "idols", Crepe's pretty much your average teen, indulging in black humor, smutty jokes, and playfully teasing crepes friends. While she can be a bit mean, she still love her friends dearly, and she dislike it when they put themselves down to try and compliment Natas (Hypocritically she does it too sometimes).
Bee takes full pride in the fact bee's the villain in other people's story, sadistically insulting and demeaning them when they try to prove themselves better than bees. Bee can be a bit petty when it comes to dealing with these kind of people, and bee loves being petty, however bee won't try to go too far with bees pettiness, unless its towards someone that has harmed bee personally.
Likes: Mozerella Sticks, Colby Jack cheese, Adult jokes, light clothing, mahou shojou anime, angst fanfics, fluff fanfics, songs about revenge and anger, Monochrome colors, warmth, Blue Gaterade, robot aesthetics, time aesthetics, RPGs, Shih Tzus, Cats, Balony Sandwiches.
Dislikes: Dresses, being cold, Verners', Pathogen Tempura, Rice, Ham, large food, BLTs, Sour Cream, White Chocolate, Grilled Cheese, nursery rhymes, First-person shooters, Cookies n' Cream Ice Cream, armpits, being called "Young lady".
Abilities
Being an outer god, spam has pure omnipotent power, and therein spam can have a myriad of abilities. They mainly use their power for the following:
Creating characters: Spam can mold any sort of creature and entity out of nowhere and change the time and space of the universe they are placed in to insert them into said universe. They can even create gods or entities that are (supposedly) beyond their control. These characters are linked to Natas and are unable to defy her will. Even if they choose to go against her, that choice would be entirely what Natas would want them to choose.
Changing form/appearance: Spam's body is merely a vessel they choose to interact with others in, and it can be manipulated in many ways. Most of the time spam hide spammers wings or change their clothes, though spam can change into a small 2d stickman-like form that defies natural law in terms of anatomy.
Teleportion: Speaks for itself, can change the location of herself and other objects/people in an instant, can even teleport through boundaries, universes, and timelines.
Remaking another's existence: If they are unsatisifed with the "story" or "concept" behind a character, rather it be their own or from another, they can completely change that character entirely. If they're Natas' character, they can simply take them and change either minor bits about them or rewrite their whole existence. If they're not, then Natas will have to kill them and take their soul, then place it into a vessel that they make themselves. While these vessels have their own sentience and can combat against Natas' will, most of the time they're satisfied with the new life they have and some are even so thankful, they wish to assist Natas personally.
Creating, duplicating and controlling universes: Just as the title suggests, they can control the natural laws, time, space, and entities within a universe. However even a god has their limits, and they can only control universes they either have explicit permission from their respective deity. They can, however, create copies of said universe and control that universe freely.
Probability and Casuality Manipulation: One little poke at a universe and bee can completely send one's life into chaos, rather it be now or the future. Bee know when something major will happen through minor actions and while even somethings are unpredictable to bee, bee can at least direct chaos towards one direction of fate.
Blessing and cursing: Of course what's a god if they cannot influence the lives of others through gifts or curses? Their blessings take the form of feathers that fall onto the blessed's soul, while their curses take the form of strains of hair that wrap around the neck of the cursed. Their blessings and curses can vary, although most of the time they can either bestow abilities or grant someone bad luck. Hell, sometimes a curse can be considered a blessing and vice versa.
Backstory:
[TW: Mentions of sui/cide, emotional and mental abuse, and implications of CSA]
She was once a mortal who lived in a world devoid of magic and the concept of miracles and bad luck were judged heavily. Subjected to a life of turmoil, she eventually killed herself at the age of 12. She ended up reviving into an imagination based god known as an "Art God", and using her power, she created a world known as the Wonderlands, a universe that consisted of island-turned dimensions and gods known as "Embodiments". Going by the name, Phantasm, she met and befriended various other gods just like her, and all in all she lived happily. At least until one particular friend entered her life. This one was no god, but a demon named Christ, who connected his world, Genesis Construct, with Wonderlands in order to, at least in his words, save it from crumbling down. Phantasm initially forgave him and allowed both worlds to co-exist. It wasn't until disaster struck from the world that Wonderlands would eventually start to crumble away. Christ controlled and gatekept Phantasm, forcing her to do things to her own world that she didn't like, and when she confronted him about all the various catastrophes that were caused by invasive forces from Genesis Contruct, he pretended to act like it wasn't his own fault. She eventually realize that Christ wasn't an ordinary demon, but a god with power over her, and wanted to mold both her and Wonderlands into what he wanted. She prefer to die over satisfying him, so she killed herself again, taking Wonderlands with her. In a desperate attempt to get her back, Christ tried to find and then steal her soul. While he eventually found it, it was just when she had stumbled upon what seemed like a god's beating heart. This heart radiated a power that overcame even the most powerful of deities. She swallowed the heart before he could stop her, and gained its power, becoming the Blind Idiot God, Natas Liah. With their newfound godhood, they layed waste on Genesis Contruct, leaving only Christ behind, which they later on killed to become Pathogen Tempura. Now that they had power over all who dared try to harm them, they started their reign as the God of Interference. The first thing they did was create a whole new universe entirely, the Nexus, which housed those who had no universe to reside in, and those who served or were connected to them.
Inspiration
Design Wise: Fumus from Seaside Dispatches, Siralos from The Sun's Curse, Clothing from Pokémom X and Y.
Concept Wise: Azathoth and Yidhra from Lovecraftian Mythology, Black Owner
Trivia
-She's my persona, most aspects of her are based on myself but otherwise we have our differences. (Example: I'm pretty anxious, she's more confident. I never attempted to kill myself, ever) We both use the same pronouns though.
-Crepes wings have eyes on them that are always closed
-Absolutely a spamton and strawberry crepe cookie kinnie
-Neurodivergent
-Those are not gloves on crepes hands, crepes body is actually grey from the neckdown.
-The little arrow-shaped trinket on her scarf is a symbol of her power. Those who serve directly under her or are connected have a trinket simular to it, however the diamond on it corresponds to the color of their eyes.
-Her full name is literally "Hail Satan" spelt backwards. She doesn't worship satan (or follows any religion for the matter), she just thought the name would be cool
-She wasn't originally an Outer God, I first designed her as an Okegom OC who worked for Fumus, but I ended up liking the design so much that I scrapped that and made her a stand alone persona.
-Squishy
-Likes to use polearms such as spears and scythes.

I Don't Think Erik Would Have Liked Me
All of my long distance relationships ended badly or just fizzled. My local relationships? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Laughable at best. Let me paint you a picture:
Comic\manga geek obsessed with magical girl shojou and slice of life stories. Glasses (mostly contacts, wore them since 6th grade), loud and hyper, stalked the hot guys in school, got bullied by the hot guys in school, got rejected by the hot guys at the mall, even rejected by the outcasts. My senior year was a nightmare. I had a few friends that just felt sorry for me.
I never felt good enough.
So it's weird now over 15 years later people actually like me. I have the confidence to walk up to a hot guy and (I really did this) and tell him he's hot. He said he noticed me wall in to the room and thought I was "sexy". It's strange that at least here in Washington they don't know my past.
The "friends" I have back home have known me for yeeeears. Most of them remember my awkward phase. It took me so very long to change who I was. I still feel awkward and I was only able to walk up to that hot guy because I was drunk. Being a stage performer actually gave me the confidence I have now. The kind of confidence I wish I had way back when.
For 2 years I was very depressed.
David was a long distance boyfriend from Dallas who visited me the summer of my senior year. Turned out he was engaged and I was just quasi jailbait. I met him online when I was 18 and turned 19 that summer. I thought he was Erik. This was before the psychic told me he'd die.
I was sooooooo in love with David I annoyed everyone about him. He had some problems and I loved him anyway. So we spent a whole weekend together in July and he slowly poofed. I called him like a crazy person. He ghosted me. Said that we should be friends but would go offline as soon as I was online. It ruined my senior year.
Because of him I coasted.
Still got into college despite not having a GED. Yeah don't ask me how. I think the admission people lied or something. They were very disorganized in the office. I was supposed to get my baker's cert but I ended up doing 2 years of culinary.
So senior year and a year in college I was so very miserable so that's 2007-2009, I was agonizing over David. Then started agonizing over Erik after the psychic told me about Erik. The pain never fucking stops. After Erik's death I stopped long distance relationships completly. By this time I heard of twin flames but knew little and didn't believe in the concept of it.
Then from 2009-2018 10 years of shitty bfs.
I thought about my life and shit and I think Erik would have been like every asshole. Why not? Everyone else was. It took 13 years to finally settle down with a human being. Rick is so perfect in comparison that it pisses me off. I'm like:
Well why isn't he emotionally abusive??
It kills me when I think about my shitty fucking luck. Jared was the most decent bf I had in my youth My "first", took my virginity... but our relationship was all about fucking and playing video games. I went back online for long distance relationships because I NEEDED to find Erik. Jared was just a reason to lose my virginity and don't get me wrong I LOVED him but his hygiene and after 2 years of nothing but boning I started to fall out of it. We ended things amicably. Hooked up with him once when we were 21 and haven't seen him since. He's still friends with my friends of course. Facebook.
While I scoured the internets there was John.
Another giant waste of time. This time I KNEW from the beginning. One of my pet peeves are liars. He would say he'll call me right back or pick me up a certain time, and then show up at some random time. I knew he was dating me just because I was in high school. I kinda had a crush on him since I was 14 way back when I used to be a mallrat hanging out with other metalheads and goths decked head to toe in Hot Topic regalia. Good times. John made me cry enough to break up with him and he made me feel bad. I did a YouTube video of it on my xgunslingermomox channel.
😘💕 Stay warm my loves!
