It was your favorite time of year. Football and preschool was over for the year and Justin hadn’t reached the point where he was ready to head back to California for workouts, because OTAs were coming up. He opted to stay in Oregon with you and Remi, presumably until baby number two decided to make their appearance. You got to sleep in, lounge around a lot more than you ever would during the season and still try to keep up with your hyperactive daughter.

You sat up in bed, finding the spot next to you cold, and gingerly walked downstairs to see what was going on.

“Morning mama!” She runs up to you to give your body a squeeze, anywhere she can reach.

“Careful mini,” Justin warns, “we have to be gentle with mama remember?”

She nods and holds her arms up. Justin is about to pick her up but you tell him you’ve got her. He gives you a look but you wave him off, letting Remi attach herself to your shoulder as you run your hand down her back. It’s like she subconsciously knows that she’s not going to be an only child anymore and is savoring every moment.

“How was your sleep, sweets?” You ask her when she picks her head up.

“Too short.” She whines.

“I hear you cupcake,” you laugh at her struggle. “What do you say we take a nap today?”

“No thank you.” She says with a laugh and Justin joins in, shaking his head and saying “of course”. Her napping days are probably over. You set her down and she walks off, into the living room to do whatever her heart desires.

Justin looks at you with a warm smile, sleep still lacing his features, reminding you of a tiny human that just left the room. It takes him about two steps before he’s standing inches away from you, leaning down to place a kiss on your lips. “How are you feeling this morning?” The concern in his tone isn’t missed, it’s been there since about month six, when your center of gravity changed significantly.

“How am I feeling? Large and…not very in charge.” The joke gets you a pity laugh and a forehead kiss.

Before you can even ask he turns away to grab a glass of water and your prenatal vitamins and you swallow the lump in your throat, not wanting to cry first thing in the late morning. Something about seeing Justin in dad and/or caretaker mode just really made you understand how you got here in the first place. You never had to ask for the dishes to be done or the trash to be taken out. If Remi needed something, it was done, especially now that he felt like you were going to pop at any moment.

“Are you sure you’re up for this today? I mean we can always ask them to come over, I can throw something on the grill and we don’t have to go anywhere.”

He saw you reaching for the chair and pulled it out for you, “as much as I know you’re dying to use that Traeger today, I feel great. And it’ll be that much better if we bring the gift to your parents instead of them coming to us.”

“Fine,” Justin sighs. “But you promise to let me know if you’re feeling off or tired or anything, okay?”

“Yes, I will let you know immediately.”

He gives you a look like he knows you’re not being serious and kneels down to talk to your belly. “You better not be in there giving your mom a hard time because we both know she’s not going to say anything. So you’ve gotta be on your best behavior all day. Can you do that for me?”

A thumpy kick on the left side of your stomach makes you laugh. The baby actually responded like they were having a conversation. “I love when that happens,” He beams at you.

“When what happens?”

“When you laugh, your belly moves up and down. It’s crazy that there’s a person in there,” he notes. “And I definitely think they heard me and are going to do what I said.” He places a hand across your protruding front and waits for another series of kicks, his heart threatening to beat out of his chest at the movement.

You should’ve known this would happen. Anytime you left the house, it was like your husband was preparing for war. The baby bag was packed and placed in the trunk, Justin decided to add an extra onesie, “just in case.” Remi has her overnight bag ready to go and he made sure that your stuff and his were triple checked with his extensive checklist.

Remi sighed, sitting on the couch next to you, watching her dad bring down the last bag. She tapped you on the arm and you leaned down to let her whisper in your ear. “Are we going to Mimi and Papa’s today? Daddy is taking a very long time.”

“He is sweets but daddy is just making sure we’re ready in case the baby decides to come.”

She looks between you, the door and then your belly. “Baby not coming today, promise.”

“I hope you’re right sister. Let go sit in the car so he knows we’re tired of waiting.”

The drive to his parent’s house wasn’t far and Remi was practically jumping out of her car seat to get to the door and run into Mark’s arms.

“Hi Papa! I missed you.” She giggles as he squeezes her tight after scooping her off the ground.

“Look at you peanut, it’s like you’re twice as big every time I see you!”

She bursts into another fit of laughter when he tickles her, bringing her into the house. “I wanna be big and strong like daddy. To play football.”

You laugh at her confession, nudging Justin. “Your daughter wants to be an NFL quarterback.“

“If that’s what she wants then I’m going to do everything in my power to make that happen,” he hums, placing a hand at the small of your back to steady you as you walk through the door.

Remi is already making her rounds, giving hugs to Holly and Patrick and giving them the rundown of everything that’s happened in her life like she hasn’t seen them in years when in reality it’s only been a couple weeks. Somewhere along the way she convinces Patrick to take her to the park, creating the perfect opportunity to present Justin’s parents with their gifts.

“So the two of you are having a baby, but you’re bringing US gifts?” Holly quips from her spot on the couch.

“We wouldn’t be able to be do this without you,” you assure them, “between you guys and my parents, we owe you lots of presents.”

Justin nods quietly, feeling a smile reach up to his ears. “She’s right I mean, you guys have always been there for me but now, having a family of my own I appreciate you all even more. So this is just a little something as a token of our endless appreciation.”

He grabs the box and hands it to his dad, sitting back down to watch them open it. Holly’s eyes well up with tears almost instantly, before she’s even opened the book.

“It’s a memory book, I know you guys love pictures and you can keep everything in one place and look back on it as many times as you want. And obviously the blanket is yours to keep.”

“There is a little surprise on the first page of the book that I think you should take a look at.” Justin chimes in.

His mom tentatively opens it, gasping and running her hand over the page.

“Are you—are you pulling my leg? Is this real?” You’ve only seen Mark tear up a handful of times but you knew this was special. You even caught Justin wiping a tear away as he nodded.

“There’s no better man in the world than you dad. So why not set my son up for success by naming him after the greatest man I’ve ever known?”

Mark stands up and wraps him up in a hug that spoke volumes. You and Holly stood next to them arm in arm, wiping at your own tears. “This is incredible, we can’t thank the two of you enough. This is so special.”

“Camden Mark Herbert, how about that?” Mark says, patting his son on the back and giving him another hug.

There’s nowhere else you’d rather be than in this in moment with them and you wished that you could keep this feeling in your heart forever. Just goes to show…there’s no place like home.

Kaiju Week in Review (September 3-9, 2023)

I was a bit nervous about GAMERA -Rebirth-; the animation looked dodgy and Netflix has a shaky track record with kaiju shows. I'm pleased to report this is the best entry in the genre that they've put their name on. Good characters, great action (brutal as always), and actual episodic storytelling that effortlessly weaves in elements from the Showa films beyond all the returning kaiju. Watch it immediately.

Tie-ins abound for GAMERA -Rebirth-: a two-part novelization, a manga adaptation, and a prequel manga that sheds some light on [UNBELIEVABLY MASSIVE SPOILERS]. That prequel manga (GAMERA -Rebirth- code thyrsos) is being published online for free in both Japanese and English. You can read the first chapter here.

In unofficial translation news, English subtitles for GAMERA.1999 (1999) and yokaipedia (2022) are now available. The former is Hideaki Anno's making-of documentary for Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris; the latter is a fun, child-friendly fantasy from Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki with a big ol' centipede-dragon at the end. (It's also maybe the first Japanese kaiju film I've ever seen with a major Black character.) I haven't gotten to GAMERA.1999 yet, though from scrubbing through it, it seems like a lot of dialogue was just ignored by the translator. Shame, as that's one I've wanted for a long time.

We have a teaser for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, as well as a premiere date for the first two (out of ten) episodes: November 17. (I am being showered with Media for my 30th birthday.) The big news from this trailer is that John Goodman is reprising his role as Bill Randa from Kong: Skull Island. I assume that's going to be through flashbacks and old recordings only, since he was eaten by a Skullcrawler in that one. We also catch glimpses of two new creatures, a dragon and a crab from what I can tell. The latter looks to be fighting a Mother Longlegs.

Fandango and AMC have added mostly-empty listings for Godzilla 2000 on November 1. Fathom Events screened Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla on November 3 last year; despite randomly showing Tokyo SOS back in March, I gather they're making a tradition out of Godzilla Day. Note that the listed runtime is longer than the film itself. Predictions for the program: another message from Keiji Ota, the 2022 Godzilla vs. Gigan short, and the Japanese version of G2K. Interesting that they're running the last Toho Godzilla film to receive a wide release in the U.S. exactly a month before Godzilla Minus One has a wide release of its own here.

Gamera isn't a meta-defining Godzilla Battle Line unit... but he's Gamera in a Godzilla game, so I've been using him in every match since I unlocked him. He's gearing towards demolishing flying units, with fireballs that deal more damage against them and knock them back. A pity that he's arriving well after those units were at their most dominant.

Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons #3 still isn't giving me much to write home about, but the kaiju cult creeping to the forefront intrigues. Also cool to see Ebirah in a starring role.

Marubeni, one of Japan's biggest general trading companies, put out a bizarre commercial featuring samurai, zombies, a meteor, and a refurbished GMK King Ghidorah. The ad now has English subtitles, and you can watch a Ghidorah-centric behind-the-scenes video here.

I cannot believe I have more Cleopatra Entertainment fuckery to report on with regards to their Shin Ultraman releases, but they're truly trying to take the "Worst Film Company of 2023" title from the members of the AMPTP. Their third attempt at a barebones disc is starting to reach customers... but the ones who already received the initial replacement disc are being told no more will be sent. @starestream is trying to figure out if they'll be selling the third edition on their site, since it seems buying it anywhere else is a gamble. (Physically, the third edition looks almost the same as the first two, set apart only by the "SUBTITLED" text on the disc.) Either way, it's another blow to a movie that truly doesn't deserve this.

La Scaloneta is a...

It’s clear that both fans and players share the same sentiments toward La Scaloneta. “ An incredible group that was put together. When you are at the club sometimes you say, how long is it until you go to the national team? You are happy to be there ”, this is how Paredes defined the squad.

- The 'infamous' Players' Group Whatsapp

Paredes is the one who was in charge of creating the group chat. “ We were following the World Cup group drawing through Whatsapp. No, it’s not called La Scaloneta. The coach doesn’t like the nickname, sometimes we tell him jokingly. We left it (the Whatsapp group chat's name) at ‘Copa America’ because it was created when we play for Copa America ”

(Lautaro and Cuti confessed that a day after the World Cup Final, Paredes renamed the group chat from 'Copa America Champion' to ‘World Cup Champion’).

Another story Paredes told about the group chat was, “ We always talk. Every time one of us has to play we try to watch and talk after the game. There are many times that we have to play at the same time and we can’t, but we always try to look at each other ”

- A lot of times they have to become rival for 90mins, but let's pray for this squad to remain as a "Brother" for a very long time 🤞

- The way they take care of each other

Paredes took a trip down memory lane to the first moment he and De Paul broke the ice with Messi. He said, “ It was during an afternoon when we still had 2 hours before training and didn’t know what to do. And Rodri said, ‘That’s it, let’s grab the cards, mate, and knock on Leo’s door’. The idea is that simple; to play truco, drink mate, listen to some music, and hope he would receive us in the best way. We were lucky he opened the door to his room for us and everything has worked well since that moment "

De Paul on Messi: Having him, everything is easier. On a club level, I only had contact with him once, at Valencia vs Barcelona. Apart from that, I didn’t know him. Given everything he lives through he could be a reserved character, so he surprised me (as it turns out) he enjoys having a mate, listening to a song, and playing truco. We do warm-up games, and I say: ‘Leo, I’ll take you on!’, he loves that. That humanizes him. You can see him like he's from another dimension, but he’s just a person.

Furthermore, De Paul describes his role in the National Team as a ‘spare tire’. I have no problem putting it like that. And I’ll do anything to wear this jersey. With my role, we can cover Paredes and help Messi, everything comes in its own time whether it’s to help Messi to attack, or hold back to cover Paredes. You compliment them.

Between players, it has been well-known that the secret to make Leo (Messi) happy is by treating him normally. However, Cristian Romero said in reality it worked the other way around.

Cuti: Since I joined the National team, Leo always treats me like I am one of them, he made me see how simple it is beyond everything he has won in his career.

"Rodrigo De Paul desde el primer día lo protegió, lo abrazó y lo apadrinó." - Molina's father told the story about how De Paul took care of his son when Molina first time played abroad for Udinese

Molina: I was at my house when Rodri with Correa were the first ones to call me and said ‘Congratulations! You deserve it! I hope you don’t flatter yourself (note: in a joking manner)’. I didn’t understand it until they told me that I had been summoned by the National Team.

Paredes to De Paul: How well we raised these 3 (Cuti-Licha-Moli)

Meanwhile, long before acting as Molina’s ‘godparent’, Rodri was the ‘little brother’ of Ota back when the 2 of them played for Valencia (and they’ve been a roommate since Brazil's 2019 Copa America). Take a look back at their Instagram, there are so many photos of them together both on-off pitch, even after Ota moved to Manchester, the friendship still continued.

It’s like a cycle of them taking care of each other, one another 💕 Just like how Ota took care of Rodri and Rodri took care of Molina in return. Gio’s presence helped Cuti to adapt when they were both in Tottenham even for a little while. Tagliafico helped Licha while both played for Ajax. Leo welcomed Paredes in the NT and later Paredes (together with Di Maria & Ney) helped Leo adjust to a new life in Paris, and now it’s Licha’s turn to be ‘the old brother’ of Garnacho.

Meanwhile, so many people against Garnacho join the Argentine side, mostly because they are afraid this kid’s personality will ruin the ‘harmony’ within players and all those bullshit talk about him idolizing Ronaldo. Well, in my opinion, I am 100% sure that the second Garnacho misbehaves (if ever), Licha will be the first to reprimand him. For real though, I don’t think there will be bad individuals inside this NT as long as there are players like De Paul, Paredes, and Dibu.

And yes, like Kun said, wish that the more Garnacho spends time seeing Messi play, the faster he will realize who the real GOAT is,

although imo it’s not a crime to choose CR7 over Messi? if Messi can be best friends with Neymar and Suarez (both are Argies’ rivals), then why can’t Garna choose CR7 over Messi? It's only a matter of preference (not loyalty), anyway.

Meanwhile, Haters had a field day over Garnacho's injury news. Too bad we can't see Licha really taking Garna to Argentina.

- The 'dont-touch-Leo-or-I-will-kill-you' movement:

Throwback to Kun's reaction seeing the UCL drawing when PSG, Juventus, and Benfica were in the same group.

Meanwhile… Di Maria (& Messi himself) be like.. 😂

- Different interviews were conducted at different times, but these players shared the same stories about the squad

To quote Paredes: none of them makes a bad face if they have to be corrected, while Dibu said: ‘Acá nadie pone mala cara’

Dibu: One fell and the other ten help him to get up Licha: If they touch one (of us), we all go (to defend him)

De Paul said ‘Everyone knows what they’re expected to do’, similar to Paredes’ statement ‘Each one knows what they have to contribute’

Throwback to September 2019 during the match against Mexico. Argentina got a chance to score a goal via a penalty kick after Lautaro’s shot touched the hand of Mexico player. It’s understandable for Lau to think that he should be the player in charge of the pen kick since he already scored a brace and aimed for a hattrick. But somehow after Lau took the ball from Ochoa, Paredes demanded the ball from Lau and kicked the penalty himself. Paredes eventually scored & celebrated the goal with Lau, and 6 mins later Lautaro succesfully scored a hattrick. After the game, Lau posted a photo of him and Paredes with a playful caption to quickly shut down any rumor about an ‘altercation’ between him and Paredes during the penalty kick.

As for now, for me, it is ironic how people assume bringing Garnacho to the Scaloni squad can bring ‘dressing room drama’. No, it’s not. It’s the fans' ‘toxic’ culture that could destroy this family. The way people start to compete players against each other or criticize players’ World Cup performance while disregarding their roles in the previous tournaments. Yeah, everyone has their own opinion, but acting like they have the right to decide who should join the NT or play as a starter is truly ridiculous.

Paredes was one of the ‘undisputed starters’ on Scaloni’s squad but quickly lost his place after the loss against Saudi Arabia. He accepted his role as a substitute player and helped his teammates from the bench. “ I didn’t arrive in the best physical way and I was aware by not being 100% gonna cost me a lot. The group was above everything and luckily the great teammates (Enzo & Mac Allister) appeared as they played enormously well. I was surprised and very proud of them. ”

Dybala interview with Marca: I needed some time after my injury and I was not yet in the best condition. I wanted to support, be positive with the best energies, and never put an angry or frustrated face for not being played. I made the team feel like they could count on me. And so it was, I felt better and Scaloni trusted me in one of the most important moments.

Lautaro interview with espnargentina: I have discomfort with my swollen ankle and I had to play with painkillers. It’s not the World Cup that I expected (because the injury made him underperform), but Juli’s arrival made me very happy. He’d give the team what I couldn’t give.

I’ve seen many people questioning why then Scaloni didn’t choose a 100% fit player if he knew Dybala, Lautaro and Paredes weren’t 100% fit. The audacity for these people to think like that, because despite their injuries, during the crucial moments, all the 3 of them stepped up and executed their roles perfectly.

What's next?

Scaloni's interview on March 21st: I thanked the players again for winning the title, now it’s time to celebrate but this goes on. And it’s going to cost us more than ever because they are going to want to beat us much more. We need a lot more energy from everyone because everything will be more difficult.

In regards to the national team:

“A new process begins. Those who are world champions don’t have an advantage. The most important thing is that the players don't feel like the owners of the National Team and that the coach is always watching. There are also kids who are going to grow and play at a high level and fight for a place (in the NT)."

Say, we, supporters, love this team. We'd love to see Messi to win more trophies alongside these Muchachos. The closest is that we aim for a Copa America back-to-back champion. This time it will be 10x more difficult because other countries will proly want to beat Argentina just out of spite, just for them to be able to say "WE BEAT THE WORLD CHAMPION, WHERE IS MESSI? WE POCKET HIM, etc etc", like Scaloni said, this squad needs a lot more energy from everyone, and imo that includes US, the supporters.

Why? As I said earlier, fans' toxic culture could destroy this team from outside. What supporters don't easily grasp is the fact that Scaloni can easily kick any players out once they don't perform well and there's better replacement. This fact, the players are fully aware as they said in numerous interviews "In this squad, there's only 1 player who's irreplaceable. Other than Messi, we always have to fight for 1 spot". Specifically, De Paul said this, "I'll do anything to be able to wear this jersey, but if one day I don't play, it's because there are others who play better than me.",

Well, I think it's safe for us (supporters) to love all players equally and love them based on their performance on the pitch. That way if Scaloni decides to drop them from the future squad list we won't be so upset or displeased with that decision because we know that it's because there are other players who (according to Scaloni's better judgment) play better than our faves. If the players can accept the consequences with big hearts (like Lau, Dybala, and Paredes) then supporters need to learn to be respectful toward Scaloni and just pray for the best.

Quick tips for Non Spanish speakers:

Hi, so, Reina here with a super epic guide on Spanish writing for non native speakers because google translate is ass when you give it one word!!!! (try word reference too!)

Yippie!!!!

First of all; Everything might as well be a verb tense, don’t question it.

Like in French, Portuguese, Romanian and Italian, things are gendered in the Spanish language, but it isn’t a pain in the ass like French and Italian (In Italian, you use all vowels as endings and each fucking one of them either means plural feminine, or plural masculine, etc.)

Fortunately!!! Usually words use an A if they are feminine, or an O if masculine.

S for plural words too, and there’s 4 different ways to say ‘the’, being La (Sing. Fem.), El (Sing. Masc.) Los (Plural. Masc. ) & Las (Plural.Fem.) When correcting yourself in Spanish, pay attention to noun gender (masculine/feminine) and agreement in number (singular/plural).

You can also make words bigger or smaller with a suffix, -ito or -ita for small, (see above notes for gender) or -illa and -illo (double L pronounced as a Y, and for big it’s -ote or -ota ; Ex. ¡Clara creció bién mucho! ¡Estába bién chiquita, y ahora pestañe y esta bién grandota! (translation: Clara grew a lot! She was so little and I blinked and she’e so big now!)

For direct objects, ensure they match the gender and number of the noun they refer to. Practice and exposure to the language will improve your accuracy over time. ¡Buena suerte, amores!

And for my native Spanish speakers who DON’T know the slang/properness in Mex. Spanish, here’s a few you should know!

Girl (as in talking to a child or demeaning to a woman) — Niña, Chiquita/Chiquilla (usually affectionate or for baby girls! ) morra, chamaca, mocosa (derogatory).

Boy (as in talking to a child or demeaning to a man) — Niño, Chiquito/Chiquillo (Usually affectionate and FOR BABIES AS IN NEWBORNS AS IN CHILDREN) mocoso, chamaco, esquinkle (my uncle used to call me and my cousins this and I wanted to fight him each time...)

Straw — Popote, Pajilla

Eraser — Borrador

KEEP IN MIND!!!

You and the bidders had been dating for quite a while, things had gone smoothly. Sure, there were ups and downs but that’s with any relationship. All and all, things were calm. Except… they weren’t. Not anymore. Despite how much you shamed yourself, you couldn’t stop eating sweets. You had to have a sweet with every meal. Considering you rarely ate sweets, always self conscious about gaining weight, everyone was taken aback. In fact, their looks were causing so much paranoia you stopped eating anywhere near them. Only eating sweets in your room now, they didn’t fail to notice your other new habits, such as sleeping and becoming stressed over everything. Lately, your work ethic has been terrible, constantly falling asleep. Even your boss couldn’t keep covering for you anymore, alerting Eisuke.

“Okay, I think we can all agree Y/n has been acting strange.” The others nod to Baba’s concern. “She’s been eating sweets everyday. I asked the Chef.” Soryu adds, causing Eisuke to chime in. “And she’s been avoiding us. What could be wrong?” They weren’t sure, and putting their heads together didn’t seem to come closer to finding answers. You were frightened by this new change as well. What could be wrong with you? “Maybe you’re pregnant?” Your friend says after listening thoughtfully to you worries, then laughs. Though, you weren’t laughing. “Pregnant?” You repeat, spacing out at the thought.

Immediately, you rush out of the cafe, leaving your friend behind. What if it’s true? It would explain the cravings. And emotions. And tiredness. And now, a new symptom to add. Throwing up when worried. What a nice cherry on top. Despite not wanting to believe it, you, reluctantly, go to a pharmacy. In disguise, wearing sunglasses, a hoodie, wig, and everything else to keep your identity undetected. Then you grab a test and ask to be rung up in a strained whisper. After discreetly exiting, you shove the box in your pocket before sprinting back to your apartment. You have been spending a lot of time there lately. With what’s been going on, staying away from them, as not to explode or do anything else embarrassing was a must.

Anxiously, you rip the box open then, after drinking plenty of water, go into the bathroom. Shaking the whole time, you nervously wait for the results. Two lines… your heart drops, and so does the pent up emotions inside you. Sobbing your eyes out, you fail to notice the knocking at your door. “Y/n? Are you in there? We want to talk.” Nothing, yet the door was locked. They had a bad feeling, after debating on whether your privacy was more important than safety, Baba agreed to pick the lock. Though, Soryu is impatient, deciding to break the door instead. “Y/n, are you here?” They hear a distressed cry suddenly come to a halt. “I- I’m fine-!” Your voice shakes, barely coherent, it was hard to hide. “Y/n, are you okay?” Ota asks, taking a seat next to where the sobs came from, the bathroom.

“Yes…” Your voice becomes quiet, sniffling any residue onto the tissue. “Can we talk?” Shaking your head, you remember they can’t see you and manage another reply. “I don’t want to.” You hear a small sigh, the voice getting close. “Y/n, we just want to know what’s wrong. We’re all worried about you.” At the moment, you were tied between embarrassment and wanting comfort. Was it worth them seeing you like this? A mess? About to side against it, something in you that yearns for their touch breaks loose. Without giving it a second thought, you open the door before you could change your mind. That sight was shocking to see, on their part. A teary eyed, broken down, head hung, nose running, messy hair partner, appearing miserable as she runs out to hug the first person her hands reach.

Rambling incoherently, you sob some more, this time into Soryu’s button down shirt. “We can’t understand you when you talk like that.” Going on, though everything is heard in more of a whine, he manages to make out a few words, however not enough to piece together what’s wrong. “Why don’t we take some deep breaths?” Baba suggests, his tone gentle and face softened. Facing towards him, you quickly turn away, shaking your head no. “Y/n, come on, I know you can do it. I’ll do it with you.” Without hesitation, he begins taking deep breaths and eventually you repeat after him. Steadying yourself, you’re finally able to say all at once, “You’re going to hate me! I’m going to have to raise our kid alone and I’m not going to have enough money to support us, then we’ll be sleeping in a box on the street, eating out of a trash can, and drinking water from some old guys sweaty socks! Please don’t leave me.”

You become worked up, sobbing once more, while you shake Soryu’s body back and forth, continuing to plead. “Wait, what?” Eisuke says, shocked at both the scenario you’ve come up with and the news. “You’re pregnant?” You stop crying long enough to shake your head yes, then immediately begin again. “Woah woah, it’s okay.” Soryu says, rubbing your back. About to pick you up, Eisuke snatches you away, being the one to pick you up instead. “Baby, it’s fine. We’re not highschool boys, we wouldn’t leave you because you’re pregnant.” Ota nods before saying “And how would you end up homeless?” He laughs lightly, “It just wouldn’t happen.” Finally starting to calm down, you sniffle, rubbing your teary eyes before saying “Because I’ve been doing bad at work, and now you’re going to fire me.” Looking at Eisuke, he shakes his head. “I wouldn’t fire you without reason, and even then I would take care of you. Technically, you don’t need a job. You were the one insistent on keeping yours.”

You give a small smile, thinking about the memories when you first began dating. Suddenly, a hand ruffles your hair, looking at the culprit, Mamoru gives a small smile back before sighing. Then, running a hand through his hair, he shakes his head. “Just relax kid, we’re not goin’ anywhere and you’re not in trouble.” The support was all you needed to calm down, shaking your head to acknowledge you heard Mamoru. “If anything, I’m glad you’re not upset with us.” Baba says, to which you look surprised. “Why would I be upset? If anything I’m ecstatic. We’re having a baby! I hope they look like one of you. They’re sure to be beautiful.” Thinking about it more, finally done crying altogether, you show them the pregnancy test. “We should make the gender a surprise! Do you think they’d like bears? Or are bears too scary? Maybe ducks? Oh, I know! Cats! Wait, what if we make their room ocean themed?”

Going on about the endless possibilities with clothes, room design, and how great parents you would be, Eisuke sets you down. “We have to get parenting books! What type of parents should we be? We could be intense, strict, free-range, french, or-!” You just keep going on, and they intently listen to every word, the smile never leaving their face. After that they had you take time off of work, you finally weren’t as embarrassed to eat sweets around them, they were always kissing, holding, or hugging you, saying how much they loved you. Baba loves rubbing your belly while you sleep, and together they get you anything and everything you could ask for. Eisuke is no longer brutally honest about how he thinks you look. He’ll tell you if something looks better than other outfits, but never critiques such as “it makes you look fat.” Overall, they all turned into soft, loving boyfriends who are always worried about you and the baby.

I know I'm a little late to the game today, but I am trying to get my shadowing hours done so I can finally get into my program for school. So as thanks for all the tags and the patience, here is a piece of Three Taps for the Lombardi aka NFL Buck.

“Damn Buckley, you get a new helmet? Head getting knocked around less now? Because those are some seriously brilliant solutions.” Eddie jests, already making a note in his phone to message Maddie and talk to Bobby. Buck clicks his tongue, “You’re an asshole. I’m telling Linda to take the rest of week off, let you fend for yourself with meals.” He threatens emptily, trying and failing not to smile. Eddie places a hand over his heart, overdramatizing his mock dread to the threat, “Would you really deprive the man you proclaim to love more than football itself, the great wonders of Linda’s cooking?” His boyfriend snort loud and the screen shakes with his laughter, “Yes, but given your last cooking attempt, I’ll reframe from doing so. I like the kitchen too much for you to potentially burn it down.” Eddie was not going to argue with him. His piss poor cooking skills were a fault he embraced after almost burning down their first home in Houston, trying to make a celebratory dinner for Buck after signing his million-dollar contract with the Texans. “How’s camp going? Taking your own advice and making some new friends?” Eddie asks. Evan frowns a bit, “Still getting a hang of McVay’s system. I got to know the receivers when I had those private work outs with them and at OTA’s. Wolford and Perkins are good guys, I’m around them a lot. I get along great with the O-line, especially Whitworth, which is good. Don’t need another unguarded linebacker snapping my leg.” He wrinkles his nose at the memory and Eddie notices the slight movement of the arm not holding his phone, probably rubbing scars along his left leg. Eddie just grimaces, remembering that game, Buck’s recovery, and the potential loss of his starting job to Watson. The 2018-2019 season really was the worst for Evan. “And the defensive players?” Eddie prompts, pulling them both away from past. “Great guys. Glad to have Donald on the same team. They all really make you work for it.” Buck sneers slightly and tries to hide it, but Eddie catches him. “What is it?”

Chikage, Soryu, and Toa are literally so similar because of how cool and distant they are. Moreover, knowing these three, I feel like they are in between 3 and 4 because those three are also like so smart, no shot, they are unaware, but they're quite dense sometimes so-

Riku, Aigonorus, and Lynt are quite the airheads so you literally have to spell it out to them, but I wouldn't put it past Riku to feign cluelessness just to tease you

In the case, that Soryu is in a good and he knows what the next words are but you aren't saying them then he will probably say, "You might wanna say it unless you want me to misunderstand and think I want to kill you." but we all know that he wouldn't do that because he even refuses to point a gun at a woman. He is respectful and principled like that

Nah cause even though half of these men are smart-asses, you sometimes just have to spell it out because of how absorbed they can get from their passions; like Takamune with soccer, Takashi with music, etc.

5. Another one who is genuinely clueless but will still kiss you nonetheless because they missed you too

Yukinojo, Rhion Hatter, KRIOFF, and RIO VOLERI

Okay, so I put Yukinojo here as well cause I really feel like he might be clueless but whether he'd push you to say it or not is something I'm not sure cause he does not seem to be the forceful type either and would be the type to think/reason "If you wanted to tell me, you would, but if you didn't then you must have your reasons".

For Rhion, same reason as Yukinojo, but I think he also leans more toward the curious type. Depending on the topic, he might press for answers, but he doesn't seem that pushy either.

Krioff is a gentleman, and I don't think he would push you to say it either unless he senses something amiss or bad about it.

Rio would definitely let out a hearty laugh since he sees you lightly blushing. He'll say, "Hahaha! Whatever that is, you're right, I missed you." or somewhere along those lines before kissing you.

6. "Ha? You're only saying that because you're the one who misses me." He missed you but won't admit it

as addition to @vulpiximisa’s post I want to point out that the subtitles switched Otae’s and Tsukuyo’s messages (accidentally I hope)

SARUTOBI - Purple Square Box, top center

Both Sarutobi and Tsukuyo used the Kanji for “Kagura.”

As vulpiximisa pointed out, Otae captured Kagura’s tone and speaking style the best since they were the closest. Otae got Kagura’s habits down including writing her name in Hiragana. Otae even got Kagura’s penchant of putting a heart ♡ on the message. As an example see below the choco kagura had made for tsukuyo to give. xD

^^Also notice that Tsukuyo copied what Kagura had ordered to be written on the former’s chocolate above. I also think that Sarutobi followed Kagura’s greeting card on the outside of the heart box for her own choco too.

I like to believe that Sarutobi’s and Tsukuyo are heartfelt (honmei) choco even though they were store bought and even if their messages were a copy (i think) of Kagura’s.

Another thing

Otae said that she was giving the dark matter chocolate out of “obligation” (giri choco) but hers is most definitely “truth choco” (honmei choco) because it’s obviously made by her (only she could make dark matter chocolate)!! Home-made and Store-bought is traditionally what sets honmei choco apart from the obligatory (giri) ones.

Though now I’m wondering if she also gave black matter to Kagura at the start of the chapter. I’m saying this because Otae had bought store-made giri choco for the club patrons at the opening of episode/chapter, meanwhile Yorozuya family got the black matter XD. I am betting that after teaching Kagura about Valentines, Otae had been at home trying to make chocolate by herself the whole day for them. OH OTAE.

also.. ahhh. The anime didn’t adapt Kagura destroying an entire line of valechoco shoppers so that Otae can get in line first :(
