In "Too Young" when Princess Bubblegum talked about how she "never get to act like a kid" and how she wishes she "could stay like this with you, but..." I started crying. This poor girl grew up in the harsh world of early Ooo, she spawned from a living wad of gum and built a house for her brother, she tried to have a family but they betrayed her and she internalized that as "ignorance is bliss." Because shes intelligent, and she's sure not happy, and they were intelligent, and they weren't happy either, atleast Neddy is happy when he's just sucking on those roots and blissfully unaware of his surrondings. Homegirl didn't have any childhood at all, even Marceline had a more carefree childhood when she was with Simon, and she grew up in the literal apocalypse with three parental abandonments. Simon kept her entertained and cared for her, but PB was protecting Neddy and scavenging for resources, on her own, just to stay alive, her entire childhood. God. People dont talk enough about how tragic her childhood was, I feel freaking awful.

The existence of both Neddy and Lemongrab, as like, Autistic-Coded relatives of Princess Bubblegum actually adds a lot of Context to the earlier Lemongrab Episodes. Like, the big way Peebles hurt Lemongrab is by sticking him in an empty castle ruling over an empty Earldom. Making him extremely isolated and emotionally frustrated throughout his entire existence.
And she probably did it because Lemongrab’s behavior reminded her of Neddy and she knew that Neddy flourishes when he’s mostly left alone and she…. just assumed the same would be true of Lemongrab. Not really considering the possibility that being left alone actually makes Lemongrab extremely miserable. That even though he can’t get along with Candy People, he needs others who are sour like him to be truly content.
Just goes to show that the people who are built different can also be built different than each other.

I wanted to hop on this art trend before its to late😋
I desperately wanted to have Raph be the one that's consoling in a way because I don't doubt that he could and would kill someone by himself.
But I felt like he'd be more hesitant (compared to pb) and would more or less depend on who he's fighting whilst pb would probably kill someone without a second thought (especially if it's for her citizens)
Anyway, I really liked doing this. It's been rough recovering from a cold and an infection, and doing this made things a lot better, especially with my body recovering 👍👍👍:DDD

"That's Enough, Let's Get You Home" by Will Wood is Bubbline about Princess Bubblegum (switching povs) and I will not be taking constructive criticism on this but I may write an anecdote about this

The mischaracterization of PB in so many bubbline fics has been irking me lately.
Like not enough to make me stop reading, but enough that whenever I see her chastise someone for swearing I go, "that's out of character."
The show begins and she's experimenting on dead people. That's the first episode.
She convinced a guy to trap his kid in a lamp and then proceeded to attempt to steal vital parts from that guys kingdom (formerly). She went to war with her uncle. Her entire fsnily was essentially lobotomized, and that's what made her realize that if she were to continue making people in a lab, she should preprogram them to be dumb and dependent. Hell, she's an actual war criminal, and you're telling me she wouldn't say "fuck"?
Absolute bullshit.
I am convinced that if adventure wasn't a kids' show, she would swear the most out of every character.
It bothers me that every time you see a bubbline fic, Marceline is the cool aloof and mysterious one, and PB is the shy and innocent one.
This post said it best, man.
Give me absolutely bonkers PB! Give me night owl PB! Give me PB who doesn't understand that some (a lot) things she's doing are wrong!
Idk, man, it just gets boring seeing her be the same shy and innocent character when she's such an interesting and complex one.
