Creep (2014) Creep is a movie I’ve put off watching for a long time but I’m glad to say I’ve finally watched it. Mark Duplass does a terrific job in his role and perfect as his character “Josef”. I never knew what to expect next or what would come out of his mouth, which left me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Duplass unnerves me so much anytime he starts rambling, and don’t get me started on tubby time. Josef kind of hides Peachfuzz from you at the beginning of the relationship. 

It’s like a secret part of him that he doesn’t want to give away. 

(He’s also afraid of you judging him.)

When you’re a bit into your relationship (6ish months) he decides it’s time to show you Peachfuzz.

He introduces you to him as if he’s another entity. 

You have to admit…

Damn.

It’s kind of cute. 

Josef decides to do the Peachfuzz song. 

You can’t help but laugh and boop his nose. 

His reaction is a little unsettling. Josef growls after you boop the nose. 

“Oh… Should I not do that?”

Josef slowly shakes his head.

“What if I did it again?”

Josef pauses.

“I would say that you should be prepared for what this naughty wolf might do.”

You slowly raise your finger and boop his nose again.

Before you can pull away, Josef catches your wrist and growls again. 

You take your other hand and gently swat his arm.

“Bad boy.”

…

Huh?

Josef makes a confused noise before slowly letting go of your wrist. 

You’re very open to the fact that Peachfuzz is just another aspect of your guys’ relationship. 

Throughout this relationship, you and Peachfuzz have this weird song and dance where you almost try to tame the beast. 

The beast cannot be tamed. 

You were once in the forest together and were playing hide and seek. Josef always uses this as an excuse for foreplay.

You didn’t realize Josef brought Peachfuzz. 

You were genuinely shocked when you heard sniffing sounds from behind a tree. 

You caution a look, curious as to what Josef was doing.

Oh… Peachfuzz is out to play. 

You quickly hide behind the tree again. 

“Y/N, you can’t hide forever. I can smell your fear.”

I mean… It was true. You definitely were a bit afraid. 

Everything goes quiet for a second. 

“Gotcha.”

You scream as Peachfuzz wraps his arms around you and starts to drag you back. 

“Let me go!”

“Never.”

Josef drags you to a clearing where there are no trees. 

When you are both on the ground together, Peachfuzz starts to grind on your leg. 

And not just any grinding.

I mean… Homeboy is going to TOWN on your leg. 

“Peachfu– Josef, what the hell are you doing?”

You can’t help but be a little disconcerted. Who wouldn’t be?

He doesn’t say anything. He just lets out some desperate growls and moans. 

This is definitely… New. You are a bit disgusted but can’t help being a bit intrigued. 

You always jokingly called your relationship an open relationship because it’s you, Josef, and Peachfuzz. 

And you are a bit turned on right now. 

You reach your hand to his face and caress it gently. 

“Good boy.”

Peachfuzz stops grinding on you for a second.

His growls start low but slowly build in intensity. 

Peachfuzz howls and begins to take your clothes off.

“Ah! Now?”

“This is happening, Y/N.” He growls out. 

You have a wild and chaotic night in the forest. 

Though you were a little freaked out to begin with, this is definitely something you’ll be coming back to try.

i know that movie!! i think Creep was one of the first found footage-style movies i watched when i was still very new to the horror genre.

i can see why Noah would like it, at least from what i can remember about Creep. it's been years since i first watched it.

...if my memory is correct, wasn't there a scene near the end where the protagonist receives an "apology" gift from his stalker? it was a toy wolf and a DVD, i think. again, it's been years, so i could be remembering it all wrong.

Yes! He receives a DVD of the stalker digging a grave as well as an apology video of sorts, if I remember correctly. It’s been a while since I watched it too. I think the wolf toy might have been the mask the stalker wears (Peachfuzz the wolf I think it’s called?) But like I say I don’t remember much either lol. I definitely think Noah might try to imitate that. He wouldn’t want to kill his darling the same way the stalker wants to kill the protagonist in Creep, but I think he’d send them DVD asking to meet up so he can apologise for stalking them, but in reality he means to lure them to a place he can control them easier. (Although he might have to think of a plan B if his darling has also watched Creep and knows it’s a bad idea to meet lmao)

14 Nov 2022 | Day 7/∞: Creep (2014) Trigger warnings: murder, creepy behaviour, stalking, drugging, SA mention

The classic found footage film and one I've been meaning to watch for a while! Josef is classically unhinged and it was delightful to not know whether anything he said was the truth or not. There seems to be sincerity only when he is in control of the situation. I quite honestly hoped that this would go down a Hannibal/Will Graham route, though it didn't - and still, it felt like I was watching a romcom half the time featuring a funny little guy and a stalwart videographer who can't get said funny little guy out of his head.

Simply put, this is about the horror of answering Craigslist ads and encountering.... someone you don't want to encounter. Aaron answers Josef's ad and agrees to record him, believing that Josef is a terminally ill patient who wants to leave his son with a memento of who he was. They go on a walk and find a heart-shaped lake - romantic! great date idea josef - and then go to a diner where Josef reveals he took photos of Aaron. Uh oh! They get drunk and Aaron, unsettled by Josef, drugs him. Then Josef's phone rings and Aaron learns from Angela (Josef's sister) that Josef is dangerous. He tries to leave and, after a scuffle, succeeds. Then begins the courting; Josef sends him videos, gifts, a heart-shaped locket. Diversity win, the creep is bisexual! Then Josef asks Aaron to meet him at the park and of course he thwacks him in the head with an axe. Oh yeah, and Josef likes to wear a wolf mask and become a persona he calls Peachfuzz. Actual depiction of ending is as below:

I do think that there was potential for the film to explore Josef more rather than turning it into straight, outright horror - it could've been a silly horror-adjacent romcom featuring a guy who doesn't know he's creepy. I've read some reviews on tumblr saying that he shows some aspects of bpd. It would've been really interesting to see him not be a killer and genuinely have a friendship with Aaron, who is genuinely kind of receptive to a connection (also Aaron is totally a repressed queer man by the way he definitely saw something in Josef I don't make the rules. that hot tub dream was sus af). It seems like the filmmakers were considering this idea - here are alternate endings that came with the DVD I think that I haven't seen floating around tumblr yet:

That first one would have been sweet!!!! I mean it still could've ended badly after, but hey. It is what it is.

Another idea worth addressing is that Aaron isn't a stupid protagonist, guys - also people in horror films are classically not making the best decisions, they're fucking scared! He tries to be polite to Josef because what else do you do when you're in someone's house in the middle of nowhere! What if he's being genuine, amirite? What do you DO if someone dumps some crazy crime that they've committed on you when you've got a whiskey in you? Anyway, Aaron is, surprisingly, nice, which was, I don't know, comforting to me in some way. Like Josef said, he was a nice guy.

Also the idea of found footage films are fascinating to me. I know this gets played with in Creep 2 a lot more, but it's also crazy to think about recording and how it has become such a huge part of our lives. It's our media. It's our digital memory bank. And Josef uses it to document his murders, and the lead up to the murders. You know? A versatile record.

Lastly, I fucking loathe the idea of tubby time. nononono

I would give this a solid 7.5/10. I really like that it didn't have any gore, and I really like the style of filming it had. It was weird as shit, and I was confused a good portion of the movie.

Does cuddling a stuffie ever help when you feel so icky and sad that you can’t play while small? Sometimes when I neg regress, whether I’m crying or whether I feel like I really really wanna cry and can’t…. Sometimes I hold one of my bigger stuffies that I can squeeze real tight against my chest! It doesn’t help make all the ickiness go away. But it is comforting. Squeezing a stuffie nice and tight helps my body get some tension out I think. It feels good, like giving someone a hug. I hope your tummy pains don’t last long! I know your daddies would give kissies and tummy rubs, and maybe get you ice or a heating pad if you need!

Cuddling a stuffie helps me feel much better during negative regression—- Bruno, my seal stuffie, has been my biggest confidant! He’s really big and I can hug and squeeze him, and use his flippers to wipe up my tears while I cry as much as I need. Peachfuzz the wolf is also a very good cuddle buddy when I’m upset!

Your stuffies can take a nice good squeeze when you’re upset; they like it! It feels good to your stuffies! Like a nice hug! And they’re happy to help you feel better, honey… A good cry and cuddle is gonna make you feel much better; then you can do something fun to help with the rest of the ickiness.

Not all the ickiness will go away, but a good lot of it goes away after big cry and a nap, yeah?

As for the tummy pains— they do suck, but I’ve been cuddling Bruno and Peachfuzz real tight under my heated blankies and it’s making my tummy feel better :> I take my medicine with Gatorade and juice boxes too! Feels like a littlespace treat! :3

My daddies would take VERY good care of me no doubt! Mammon and Asmo would spooiiil me~! And so would Melone~! But my stuffies are doing the most to make me feel better!

What do you think of the Creep series (if you’ve seen it)? Josef/Aaron is pretty pathetic and just plain weird but his mask is pretty cool I think.

I just watched both of them a few days ago!!

My brother recommended it so I had some high expectations, and it wasn’t exactly what I expected, so I was a teeny bit disappointed. Looking back, though, I think they were really good movies, I just thought they would be a little different based on my brother liking them. I really liked the second one in particular, the girl was cute and I loved the ending.

So idk if Josef/Aaron was actually like that or if that was part of his routine to make people uncomfortable and then scared. I loved the endings of both movies a lot, and the second I think was a bit more interesting, if not better, because of how thrown off he was by failing to scare her every time lol. I thought the movies were more funny than scary, but I admit the bit where he chased Aaron with the mask spooked me a little :p

Peachfuzz was the highlight though lol.
