joking aside, I love this site. I have learned so much from this site. I have received so much love and support from this site, and I hope to be here for years to come (especially now that we accidentally won Least Worst Social Media Platform, despite our very best efforts)

that being said, taking a break was really helpful for me mentally. it made me realize how much pressure I was putting on myself to keep people entertained so they would like me. I'm talking like, 'rereading & editing a single dumb shitpost a dozen times a day' levels of overthinking.

So yeah: I love it here, I plan to keep making people (and myself) laugh, but going forward I'm going to be putting less pressure on myself to be as entertaining/active as i used to aim for. Less "I choked on my gogurt" levels of humor, more "sensible chuckle." (sometimes I may even indulge in a joke that purposefully fails to resonate with the audience! it will be quite a mischievous little treat for me 🤭.)

anyways please be patient if my posts lack a certain pizzazz going forward. the pizzazz is out of stock. no there is none in the back room. the pizzazz is on back order ok. no I'm not paying for expedited shipping. our supplier is experiencing a shortage. pizzazz is a controlled substance, do you have no understanding of the paperwork involved? piss off with your piddling pizzazz

why “the Winchesters” feels like fanfiction

I don’t mean this in a negative way but it feels like fic and here’s why:

Mary, John, Carlos, Lata, and Ada (and others to an extent) are 100% found family and an actual ensemble. in Supernatural, family didn’t end in blood but the brothers were the Main Characters and they’d known Bobby since before the start of the show. in the Winchesters, everyone who is working together is doing it because they choose to, and while everyone but John has history together, they fall into a TV Show Ensemble Cast immediately and John’s newness persists only for exposition purposes

because they’re all choosing to work together, they’re all nice to each other, give each other the benefit of the doubt, and generally assume everyone has the same goals and wants to be there and is doing the work

even though it’s the 70s and they don’t have cell phones, they use CB radios, pay phones, and walkies to constantly keep each other updated. the capacity to communicate is almost never an impediment. even when Carlos is trapped in a shadow dimension and Lata is in the house, they can hear each other yelling! 

the main group doesn’t hide info from each other. sure, John and Mary briefly attempt to hide their relationship, and Lata has a Deep Dark Secret she hasn’t told anyone before she put on the bracelet. but when it comes to hunting, they are all info all the time. Ada even shares the risk to her soul! can you imagine someone volunteering that on SPN?! even John’s mom knows about the Akreda and doesn’t for a moment think it’s at all possible John is a murderer! I guess this one is more fanon-vibe than fic, lots of fics are based on people withholding crucial info, but the “SPN but with healthier communication” thing is such a fandom concept

headshot I took before starting my last job (roughly three and a half years ago) vs the fresh one I just took before starting this new job... both pics required an embarrassing number of attempts just to scrape together one or two that I liked, so it's kinda funny how both wound up being basically the same pose, just with different hair and more/less forehead lines. although I think the new one makes me look less like a malnourished ghost. and I still have that flannel lol

Aw! You're welcome! <3 I love reading about psychology. I had that as my first pick and had Archaeology as a 2nd pick. But of course I didn't have enough points/good enough grades to get into a year of psychology. But it's fun to read as a hobby anyway!

But back to the Paulchard case; It's very cute to see that they are taking from each other's gestures, especially when they are telling stories. Who do you think started it all? I have a feeling it might have been Paul, since I remember seeing some Feeling B interviews with him and Flake and baby Paul would always gesture his hands all around, up and down, left and right (even back then), while Flake would most likely be still. Meanwhile I haven't seen Richard do it so much in the past. He seemed rather shy in the 90's with Rammstein (unless if he was really high on drugs while performing on stage, to the point where he didn't seem to be "there" mentally, which I am so happy he got out of/quit! He seems so much healthier and aware now! Good for him!) With time, I think Richard gradually adapted/mimicked Paul's outgoing personality, first as a way for Paul to find something in common with him/like him, as what I explained in my addition, until this outgoing persona rubbed off onto Richard so much, that it became a part of him to.

So NOW it's like they are having this cute "competition" about who can be the most charming/outgoing person in interviews, and the cutest part of it all; is that they are probably not even AWARE of themselves that they have this little, wholesome "competition" to win the smiles of the fans! <3 Their mind is probably just doing it now because they subconsciously want to be "the most likable among all the guys". I don't think there is any harm in this though! It's not like one of them think he is so much better than the other, intentionally, that he would try to put the other man down/ make him seen as less valuable/weaker tham himself". At this point I think it is, and has always been a very wholesome (and highly unintenionally!), cute little "competition" to try and win over the most fans! <3 I'm glad you liked my little add on this! ^ ^ I thought it would be a boring read xD
