It could be because I’m trans especially because there’s good days and bad days but damn I hate parts of myself I KNOW I would drool over on other people. I draw people with my exact body type and lust and lust and lust and then I try to indulge myself and draw self-ship art but. I feel like I’m ugly or that the character I’m with wouldn’t like me EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THEY WOULD? Maybe it’s a confidence issue maybe it’s my dysphoria but that other anon talking about their experience with their commission and asshole artist reminded me of this damn dilemma. I love y/n fanfic so much cause it’s easier to forget myself and what I look like in the first person but damn. I hate myself in art and photos so much and I don’t even know why. hello my sweet, thank you for coming to me and pls dont feel like you should apologize for venting here, it's part of what i'm here for and i like being able to listen. ik lots and lots of people, formerly myself (and still me on some days) included get that "i love my features on everyone else but hate them on myself" because i think that's just the nature of insecurity-- you feel like other people are "doing it right" or that things just look better on other people than they do on you. it's much easier to hold yourself to an impossible standard like beauty standards than it is to hold other people to the same standards, if that makes sense... any good person will know to not judge others but that doesn't stop you from judging yourself, you're your own worst critic. one thing that always kinda comforted me is knowing that i've never actually seen myself-- you only see yourself through mirrors and pictures but that's not really you, your camera doesn't capture real life dimensions and everything is flipped in the mirror, that sort of thing. you never see yourself, at least not in the way you look at other people, but i'm sure if you could see yourself through someone else's eyes (as the ol saying goes) you'd be surprised how fine/attractive/wonderful you look to everyone else. i can't comment on the dysphoria aspect so i can't offer any advice as far as that goes, but i think knowing that i'm not alone in my insecurity has always helped me so i try to remind other people that they're not alone in their insecurity too. the things that i don't like about myself are only because i'm my own worst critic and bc i hyperfocus on my flaws rather than the things i like about myself, and i think that's how it goes for a lot of people. but the things you like about yourself are more important than anything else!

another thing that's helped me is following models/influencers/etc that have my body type and similar features as me, ie thick eyebrows and a lil toothgap, and unfollowing models/influencers that i struggle with comparing myself to. your internet experience is yours to curate and there's nothing wrong with unfollowing models that you can't help but compare yourself to; it doesnt mean theyre a bad person or bodyshaming or anything, just that they may not be healthy for your experience and that's alright! so maybe that could help you too. i wish u the best of luck and i thank you for sharing your feelings with me; i think you're wonderful no matter what and i'm happy to be a place where you feel comfortable sharing your feelings and fantasies!

well, my young grasshoppers, this is not just a simple bus ride

you are infamous in the team to be a sleeper

no matter what form of transportation, bus, car, any surface, you found yourself in dream land

the sleep paralysis demon beside my bed says otherwise

they freak out and fight over even a simple touch of affection from you, do you really think they wouldnt fight tooth and nail to being your pillow and freely watching your adorable sleeping face?

these men are fighting as if they were fighting something serious like a world war

lmao with how intensely theyre fighting, it practically is

but there were two players who actually didnt care either way since they only wanted you to be the most comfortable and they werent exactly the most squishiest members

in fact, they were basically all muscle and probably not the most comfortable

NOPE I BELIEVE THAT IWA IS IN FACT ONE OF THE MOST COMFIEST AND BEST PILLOWS IN THE ENTIRE HAIKYUU UNIVERSE

totally not my bias talking or anything

so it was no surprise when they didnt get themselves involved

iwa was already done w them and goes in the bus because mom deserves a nap

naturally, kyo follows the leader and boards the bus after him, leaving the others to fight it out in the school parking lot

you were happy that they were too distracted that they wouldnt notice you sneaking away into the bus and you were slightly disappointed that out of all the seats, kyo had to sit in the one-seater by the front

so you immediately went over to the other person, who was iwa-san, and he was just settling in, pulling out his teal blanket

you blinked at him when he caught you stare but he gently smiled before opening the blanket

‘i was never a fan of window seats anyways’

you happily bounced over to him and you placed your bag at the overhead compartment bc seijoh is bougee and can afford everything before you climbed over him to the seat next to the window

iwaizumi tried to make you as comfortable as he can so he kept the seat divider thing yanno what im talking about? between you

but his eyes widened when you casually pulled it up and snuggled closer to him

youve done this before so he opened his right arm for you to cuddle closer but he was still surprised

meanwhile,,,

you just closed your eyes with a smile as you pulled the blanket to your chin and practically glomped yourself to iwa

ugh im so jealous of you!!!!!!!!!!

‘hmmmm, youre so warm iwa-san. youre like,,,,, jacob from twilight’

his eyebrow quirked and he smiled, wrapping his arm around you and tightly holding you close

he felt your head nod

it was such an odd combination from the people you knew and you were immediately drawn to it

he always gets confused as to where it is but you steal it and watch him look for it

you didnt hear that from me though

it didnt take a long time for you to fall asleep and by the time the 2 coaches finally arrived and yelled at the players, they were already late

‘oikawa, i thought youd handle this properly!’

oiks whimpered from the coach’s scolding but apologized then pushed everyone in

the sight in front of them made them both boil in jealousy and squeal in uwus

but kyo didnt understand the dilemma and instead just goes to the back where yall were at and he goes to the seat behind you so he could reach you easily and tickles your cheek

your nose scrunches at this tingling sensation until it continues so you open your eyes and finds kyo just smiling down at you

oiks is literally shaking bc he could see the smallest smile on kyo’s face

with his gruff voice, it sounded like he was ordering you around but you knew he couldnt help it and blinked tiredly at him, giving him a smile of your own

you winced at the sudden appearance of the sunlight and that made you fully wake up before flinched at the eyes of the other players

as usual, oiks and iwa were walking to the front bc yanno, captain and vice-captain, while you and kyo walked at the back, mainly bc you didnt want any player to stray off like kindaichi did last time and look for him for hours

kyo gripped your hand and you turned your head to look at him to see his eyes glaring at anything

you chuckled which made him look down at you, the glare slowly disappearing

‘hm, kyo-san, you should really invest in contacts. it doesnt matter if wearing glasses makes you feel like a nerd bc you still need it to see’

he scrunched his nose when you scolded him and he was about to retort when him and the team caught the whisperings of the nearby teams

and they were all busy and you didnt want to bother them and you were going to be quick anyways so you just took the case of bottles and ran to the nearby water fountain

you were hurriedly filling them up and at your last bottle, you were about to cap it when you felt a presence behind you

he stood close and his arms snaked around your waist but you hurriedly tightened the lid and whacked him at the head with the heavy bottle

you continuously hit him and kicked him between the legs before hitting him again

‘DONT TOUCH ME AGAIN!’

you shouted and iwa and kyo were watching from the end of the hallway, panting from running so fast since they heard your shouts

kyo was watching you from his perepharal vision and when he went up to spike, he took his eyes off of you for ONE DAMN SECOND and you nyoomed out of there

when he didnt see you anywhere, he wildly looked around and this caught the attention of the vice-captain

they took off running and the team was just like what

unnatural - wjsn | recommended songs: all of them (especially unnatural, supermoon, and yalla) except for rewind | skips: just rewind bc ballad /// im not sure what style to call this album but they really made such a smash, its crazy that it came out so early in the year and no gg is touching it (album wise). literally the only complaints i have are the obligatory ballad (that they always do bc they can all sing lmfao), the album cover/title (dont love the cover design and i dont love when the album name is the tt name, except in certain circumstances (a full album (especially where the title isnt necessarily from the title track) like montero) or when it's a single album (the inverse of this being rsq's prequel which couldve just been called colorfull since that was the only damn song 😐)). i also was disappointed with the outfits for last dance but that's peripheral.

ugly beauty, jolin tsai - discovered this year, came out in 2018. i just really like jolin tsai idk. i had only heard that album w play and i’m not yours, both are iconic but the production quality sounds...low? like its older but ik they’re not *that* old. either way, ugly beauty does everything i wanted it to - dramatic, vocals, rapping, boa vibes...jolin tsai is a queen what can i say

Skate Leading Stars (SPOILERS for the first six episodes)

Ok so I'm no diehard anime critic. I actually suck at watching any type of series because I have the attention span of a fruit fly. I tend to forget about series I'm in the middle of and if its not engaging, I'm gonna lose interest. But I just finished the first six episodes of Skate Leading Stars and I just have some things to say about it. In fact I'm not even critiquing the anime I'm jst gonna say shit that annoyed me

BE WARNED SPOILERS!

Kensei, our main character, is arrogant, argumentative and a bit annoying. He relies too much in his ability to copy things instead of focusing on his basics and foundations and actually learning how to skate lead. From what I've seen, skate leading is completely different to figure skating. There are 4-5 other people there on the ice with you. That four other people you have to sync with at all times, keep in mind when moving and just timing everything together with. He just does what he wants, whether the team likes it or not. I will admit that he does learn to more of a team player by episode six though, which leads me to the next point.

Wth??? They ragged on him SO hard for not skate leading properly and doing the routine exactly as it's choreographed and when he does, its apparently the wrong thing to do? And then they put so much pressure on him after that, telling him to skate freely instead for their free skate. Like? DO you want him to be a team skater or what?! And the whole "when we say conform to our skating we dont actually mean conform!" Like dude what do you want him to do?! The fact that they rely on him, a first year, so much that they think changing the way he skates is what will make or break the team is just.. no. no good.

This also leads me to the timeskips and whatever the fuck that training camp was. Idk if I've been spoiled by other sports animes and getting to actually see things like practice matches, training camp arcs and official matches, but I think SLS really lacks in story. I feel absolutely no connection to the characters. They have no bonding moments, hell they barely have dialogue. We barely get snippets of the other boys and mostly their screen time is really dependant on their interactions with Kensei. In my opinion this anime does a lot of telling and little showing. We go from an episode where Kensei gets challenged to be more of a team skater and jumps immediately to him doing that perfectly in the next episode. There's no showing of the process, they literally just say in the beginning of epipsode 6 that Kensei got better at following the rules and then he does.

So far I've watched 6 episodes, but I still can't get a sense of any themes in this anime. There isnt much friendship or team connection. There is no real story of hardship- our MC being great at skating- and being underdogs. The rivalry is barely even there because Reo (the supposed antagonist) is hardly in any of the scenes and mostly doesnt interact with the MC. Maybe I'm jumping the gun, it is only 6 episodes but like, in 6 episodes Haikyuu created the quick duo, KnB formed their shadow and light pair, PoT showed the skills of their regulars and MC etc. This anime is so fast paced and gives little return for the amount of ground they cover. Like we're already finished with the First competition of the Grand Prix series.

They dont really show the routines, in fact their free skate in episode 6 was just passing images that showed nothing. I'm not sure where theyre going with this anime but it feels like an anime you put on when you want to pass time without taking anything in. They actually need to show more of Aki, Yuki, the captain (i forgot his name sry) and Itsuki, preferably outside the orbit of Kensei, pls

The only thing i like abt this anime was Sasugai Hayato. He's funny, determined, smart and flip flops btwn reigning in Kensei and egging him on. Its hilarious. He's got an ugly attitude but i love him. Still, he doesn't add much to the story other than another angle for the whole Reo rival thing.

All in all, idk if i'll continue with this anime beyond 2 or 3 more episodes.
