when i first played Harvest moon ds, i encountered a villager from mineral town name popuri who reminds me about the chicken festival. I never knew where she got her name or how she got her name. When i got older, i did research about her online. I found out that she and her mother Lillia runs a flower shop in harvest moon 64, then i realized that she got her name from a fragrance of dried plants called "potpouri".

Wow, there is so much going on in this house. One might think this is 'typical elderly folks' home, but what this is to me is typical hasn't been renovated since I was a kid home. Not far off from what you might see in the homes of my aunts and uncles. So, list anyone?

Cold Morning And Day On A Bright Sunday. A Potpouri Of The Good Life That I Have Been Blessed To Live And Happy To Share
It’s the last bitter cold day, according to the weather forecast.
This week, I should be able to sit outside with a chair and a tripod and try to get some exciting bird photos. We’ll see. I’m doing some experimenting this week with my bird photography to see if I can’t figure out what I’m trying to do. I’ll be back in surgical boots and no showers for a week. I can’t get my foot wet.

HEALING POTPOURRI / Paradise
クソじじい的なことを言いますと、僕は「癒し」を自称する音楽なんて、聴くに値しないと思っている。癒されるかどうかは本人が感じるイシューであって、「これで癒されなさい」と言われる筋合いなどどこにあろうか。そんな傲慢なことがあってはいけないと思っている。したがって、このグループの名前を聞いた時に音楽も聞かずに「余計なお世話だ」と思ったわけだが、実は僕こそが余計なお世話であったようだ。
「癒される」かどうかは別にして、この音楽がとても気持ち良いものであることは認めざるを得ない。まあそれを「癒し」と表現する人がいても非難はできない。つまりそれだけこの音楽が気持ち良いと言うことだ。
Healing Potpouriは、ボーカリスト/マルチインストゥルメンタリストの Simi Sohotaを中心に、サンフランシスコを拠点に活動するソフトロックバンド。かなりモンド色も感じられる、全編を通して柔らかくキラキラ輝く様なポップ・ミュージック。Simi Sohotaの歌声がビロードのように優しく柔らかい。

bought my bird another thyme plant to slowly destroy and as a bonus i get to smell thyme every time she sits on my shoulder because bird nibbles on and sits in the thyme :') also cloves because she enjoys eating those.

So there’s a technology museum at Green PC, a computer recycler and seller, in Tacoma. The stuff isn’t quite as set away from grabby hands as other places, and you have to look hard to see the “not for sale” sign, but they definitely had a random potpouri of excellent old technology including an Atari 2600 and a Lynx model 1, some Apple //gs parts, and a Nintendo Entertainment System plus that Gameboy that I know your eye went directly to. The collection is a quick read but it warmed my heart.

Due to La Squadra’s line of work, their holiday festivities are rather simple. For the most part, Christmas eve and day is a break from having to plan and execute missions unless a special circumstance requires them to work on those days.
I like to think that La Squadra just throw a simple party among themselves. Some people buy food or snacks to share, alcohol is passed around, and they might go see some outdoor Christmas decorations in the evening time. But the big thing that they always do is the White Elephant exchange.
So, here are my headcanons of how La Squadra does White Elephant.
White Elephant started because it was too much of a hassle to buy a gift that can be catered to a person’s needs.
Plus it would be too expensive to figure out to buy for everyone given their budget.
So, a White Elephant is a way to not only splurge once and not worry about whether someone hating their gift but also a way to destress and be goofy.
Because this is also a great time to gift gag gifts and laugh at whatever unfortunate soul was given that gift.
A few members are involved in gag gifting, thinking that it what makes White Elephants meaningful, and some people disguise their gift wrapping too.
Rules are pretty simple. Turns are picked and gifts can be stolen three times before they’re locked. The first person to pick gets to steal at the end. No one can steal their own gifts.
Prosciutto hates giving out gag gifts. He’s too serious to do that.
So, all of Prosciutto’s gifts are actual useful things. He’s given out nice kitchenware, decorative throw blankets, skincare sets, and similar.
Unsurprisingly, everyone wants his gift because his gifts are actually good on the long run.
This year he’s giving away a new condition mini oven air fryer he got for sale. Ghiaccio won that one after an intense stealing session.
Formaggio is the type of person that gives a gift that’s based on that year’s memorable event and it doubles as a gag gift too.
For example, his 2019 gift was a “Storm Area 51” survival kit he DIYed and his 2020 gift was a large set of toilet paper and face masks in bulk.
This year, his 2021 gift was a fountain that was actually a toy model recreation of the Ever Given container ship getting stuck in the Suez Canal.
Sorbet won that one and absolutely hates it, but nonetheless impressed with the detailing- down to the backhoe trying to shovel the ship out.
Melone likes to get experimental with his gift wrapping, sometimes making people wonder which one is his gift.
That’s because his gifts are certificates or tickets to events, so they’re often pieces of paper and he likes to get creative. He prefers giving experiences as gifts.
His gifts are also sought after second to Prosciutto, and has previously been things like spa packages, musical performances, and bookings to sought out restaurants.
This year’s gift is tickets for two to see Queen and Adam Lambert preforming in Bologna for 2022. He made his wrapping look like a Squishmellow and Risotto won it.
Now everyone’s wondering who Risotto’s plus on for this event. Risotto himself is still deciding.
Pesci always DIY’s his White Elephant and has the most variety when it comes to gift giving. He feels bad for doing gag gifts, so he puts in the effort to make his gifts meaningful and useful.
His previous gifts include potpouri, watercolor sets, and succulent displays, to name a few. He also has the nicest gifit wrapping due to Prosciutto’s insistence.
This year, Illuso got his gift- which was a hand-bound recipe book for sweets and pastries that Pesci made himself. He made a big deal about getting such a “girly” gift but he secretly likes it.
Gelato is the KING of gag gifts. He grew up with gag gifts, he insists on doing gag gifts.
He doesn’t go all out like Formaggio or shitty like Illuso, but they’re still gag gifts in general. To give you some ideas, he previously gave out a Cat Paw 3D Mousepad one year and another year he gave a Mini Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube Guy.
This year, he gifted the Mini Tabletop Pool Game, which Prosciutto won. Surprisingly, Prosciutto actually liked the gift despite hating gag gifts in general.
Ghiaccio isn’t into gag gifts, but he’s just so TERRIBLE at gift giving in general that his gifts are often mistaken as a joke than genuine.
Part of it is just him still new to the whole White Elephant thing and him taking things literally means he doesn’t really understand the concept completely.
One time he gave a bulk set of hemorrhoid cream and was confused at why people found the gift funny, especially when Illuso ended up getting it.
It was on sale and had holiday wrapping on it, so he thought it would look nice and was a bit upset when it wasn’t the case.
At least this year his gift was pretty nice. He gave a cute large snow globe that had a ballerina that had a music box that plays the Sugar Plum variation.
Pesci won the gift. No one wanted to steal because they knew he loved the gift and let him have it. Ghiaccio spent the rest of the party bragging at how great his gift was.
Sorbet is very particular with his gifts, since he wants to get a good gift while saving him a ton of money. His gifts end up being okay nonetheless.
Sometimes he’s lazy and shares his gift contribution with Gelato instead. Sorbet’s gifts tend to come from the thrift store or were given to him by nonnas trying to clean out their houses of clutter.
This year, Melone got his gift and it ended up being a set of those marbled candles that have crystals inside of them. He loves it!
No one understands why Melone loves candles and crystals so much, but as someone who’s typically calm and rarely shows strong emotions outside of missions, he was beaming like a kid on Christmas.
Illuso, on the other hand, is a toss-up when it comes to White Elephant: either you’re getting a really nice gift this year or a really shitty gift instead.
He’s the type of person that shops last minute for gifts and gets what catches his eye at the time. Sometimes, he’s too lazy and puts a box full of rocks or sand.
Despite being last minute with his gifts, he is also another person that takes time to disguise his gift wrapping for the humor of it.
Formaggio figured out which gift was Illuso’s and was expecting something shitty. He found out it was an inflatable sumo wrestler costume and immediately sought out to steal it.
He won it in the end and wore it for the rest of the day Unfortunately, it popped as soon as his cat got its claws on it when he got home, still in the suit.
llluso offered to get him a new one but Formaggio said it was okay; he can patch it up with some duct tape and remember to not carry his cat while wearing it.
And finally, Risotto. He’s also not the best gift giver but he tries his best.
Sometimes he’s so busy he just gives out an amazon gift card or a “1 day off” coupon. Sometimes he just gives out a premade gift set he found at the store.
This year, he wanted to give something special. He made a simple wine gift basket, with Prosciutto’s help, that included some decent wine, nuts, and cigars.
Gelato ended up winning the basket, although he did it by strategically making Sorbet steal for him in case he isn’t able to get it.
Those two immediately used the gift to wine dine and 69.
