Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
It's easy to praise God when things are looking good and going our way, but what about the times when we face trials in our lives and things aren't so good and we feel like giving up? In Psalm 34 David didn't say sometimes I will praise Him or only in the good times, he said, "I will praise Him at all times and His praises shall continually be in my mouth."
Life is hard, there is no doubt about that and our enemy satan would love nothing more than for us to give up, instead we need to get on our knees and lift our hands in praise. Praise God for being the unchangeable God He is and for being in control even when things seem so out of control. Praise Him because He is the Creator of heaven and earth.  Praise Him for being the God that heals, delivers, sustains, provides, and is our ever present help in times of trouble. Praise Him for being right there with you in the storm.

Psalm‬ ‭150:1‭-‬6‬ ‭(NIV‬‬). “Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
“Everything That Has Breath Shall Praise”
“Make it your daily habit to look for the good things God gives and does.”
“The desire to give praise is hardwired in the human spirit—it’s an impulse we can’t ignore. And as Christians, we’re called to direct that tendency to the One who made us. The apostle Peter says it like this: “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
It’s a beautiful truth that we are God’s own people—created, chosen, and called by Him to live a life of praise, both on our own and with other believers. In Psalm 34, David says, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1). However, he’s not content to be a solo act. He exhorts other believers to join him: “Exalt the Lord with me, and let’s exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3).
So let’s praise Him at church on Sunday morning and on our front porches at sunset—when we start the workday and each evening as we lie down to rest. Also, let’s remember to praise Him not only for what He has done but also for the excellency of His character. God truly is worthy of our adoration!”

I have coined Dear Reader as the second Klance Bible. Literally have never been so excited when a fic updates. November 30, 2022, I saw this little cool fic with an interesting premise and it literally was like a new restaurant around the corner which has the BEST food you have ever consumed but no one really goes to eat there since it’s mainly unknown, and then people start going there and more and more and more until it’s considered a household name. Really happy for heavily_caffeinated because DAMN THEIR WRITING IS SUCH BANGER. So bangerful. Dare I say bangerlicious.
I actually had a dream about it 💀💀💀. It also was one of the reasons I decided to get an ao3 account in the first place.
ALL HAIL DEAR READER. It’s gonna be a while until we get a fic that’s as BANGER as this one.
What if ColeyDoesThings makes a video analysis on this??? OH MY LM & JDS GUYS WHAT IF SHE DOES???
ALL HAIL DEAR READER

I've been struggling with wondering if I am doing this right. If I am worshiping Jesus the right way. I am second guessing myself alot lately. Wondering if it's worth it. If life has any point of we can't enjoy the things we like. And it makes me so mad. Because I do it to myself. I sit and question if it's this hard for any one else. I question if I even heard the LORD. If I truly was saves and have been forgiven. And I cry and ask and beg for signs that I am doing this right.
And today I was reminded that all of this is a spiritual attack meant to keep you from the LORD. The enemy tries to get you to feel this way so that you are far from you Father in heaven. To keep you from your purpose. He whispers lies to you and if you choose to accept them it leads to pain and anger and further sin. And its all to get you to distrust the Lord to question if he is truely there, if he cares and anything else. And our best way to combat it is to recognize it for what it is and to bring it to the Lord. Pray and talk it out. He wants our hardships he wants to be there for us. And to know him is to know his word, the Holy Bible.
I've been dealing with this cycle a lot lately. I feel as if I am faking it and going through the motions. Thinking that I am learning of him and not truly having that relationship, questioning if i am making it all up in my head as some sort of comfort to help me cope. And I won't lie, its made me feel quite hollow and sad inside. But then I came across something that reminded me that this is spiritual warfare, the enemy's handiwork. And while I can't find the post that reminded me of this, I will leave you will something He, the Lord, reminded me of when I was in one of these dark cycles.
LUKE 10:10-20
While this is very long, I will sum it up. The deciples were sent into the cities two by two to go and speak all that they learned from Jesus. He told them that people may or may not welcome them. And to all that do not welcome them, shake it off for he has given them "authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you. 20 Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
The Lord loves us and gives us power over the enemy because of Jesus's blood. We must remember that the head of the serpent has been crushed by the heel of Jesus all because of his sacrifice on the cross. The enemy has already been defeated. Always remember this beloved.

do you have any thoughts on the story of abraham and isaac? my parents talk about it and praise abraham for being willing to kill his son which..... scares me to say the least, and i'd love to hear your perspective as someone who seems more well-adjusted
Where I am now, it disgusts me more than anything. The interpretation of "I'm willing to sacrifice your life if I was told to" feels like the step before "I put you into this world and I can take you out of it." It's entitlement to a child, who is an independent individual, just because they are dependent on you for survival. I prefer the interpretation of understanding the actions you're taking and the reasons why (like how there's multiple religions that don't eat pork because it was so unsafe to eat at the time), especially if it's at someone else's expense.
Where I was in the thick of it all, it gave me morbid comfort that scares me now. I had fantasies of being a martyr for the church and the idea of being the next Isaac was just so appealing. Being a hand-selected sacrifice chosen by the Good Lord Himself? Sign me the fuck up, babey!
I think if I admitted that to my family, they'd be horrified.
It's another one of those stories or beliefs where I think the majority of christians just regurgitate what they've heard. It's a point of pride and devotion, but there's no personal reflection or cross-cultural awareness of it. Lean not unto your own understanding and whatnot. It's the potential that scares me the most, like the Quiverfull movement with the Duggars or Turpins. I'm sure there's stories now, but I can't remember them off the top of my head
(Also I will be telling my therapist someone on Tumblr called me "more well-adjusted" thank you anon)

Hebrews 13:15 'Through Jesus, let us continually offer to the Lord a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His Name.'
We can choose to either complain about everything or praise the Lord in all things. From our mouths should flow a constant stream of praise.
Sometimes the praise 'costs' us, because things may be difficult...
But keep on confessing the Name of Jesus and praising Him, for He deserves our praise.
PRAYER: Lord, I choose, regardless of my circumstances, to praise You and lift Your Name up high. May my mouth and my lips always bring praise and honour to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
