Je m'appelle Monsieur Samovar, ou quelque chose d'approchant. Il y a seize ans à peu près, j'ai passé le concours du CAPES n'importe comment. N'importe comment, ça veut dire que je ne savais pas si j'avais envie d'être prof. Que j'y suis venu le premier jour, pour voir. Quand j'ai terminé l'épreuve, je me suis baladé dans les rues de Brest. Il y avait un magasin de jeux vidéos. Le vendeur était très beau et très gentil, j'ai eu envie de retourner le voir. Ça a duré trois jours, le temps des épreuves.

On avait déjà, à l'époque, un cruel besoin d'enseignants. J'ai été reçu. J'étais arrivé comme un voleur dans la profession, les premières années me l'ont bien fait comprendre. J'ai dû faire partie du top 5 des pires professeurs de français du pays. Ça a duré quelques années et, durant mes errances en région parisienne - évidemment que j'étais en région parisienne - quelques collègues d'une gentillesse époustouflante m'ont pris sous leur aile. Et m'ont tout aussi gentiment mis un coup de pied aux fesses, en me faisant comprendre qu'il allait falloir que je me consacre un poil plus à ce que je faisais si je voulais arrêter de perdre du temps, d'en faire perdre aux élèves, et de ressortir de chaque journée en ayant envie de mettre le feu à des parpaings. Ou alors je pouvais aussi tenter une autre voix professionnelle.

Les loyers étaient très chers en Essonne, j'ai persévéré. Et puis, au bout d'un moment, j'ai commencé à tenir un journal de ce qu'il m'arrivait, jour après jour, dans ce boulot. Journal extime, miroir public.

Ellipse. Tout ceci nous amène à aujourd'hui. Changement de décor : la Bretagne. Je suis - toujours - prof itinérant, je me balade d'établissement en établissement. Je suis - toujours - débutant. Impression permanente que je commence à peine, qu'il y a tout à apprendre. Les élèves, les salles de classe se sont succédées. À chaque fois c'est une toute nouvelle aventure. Cette année particulièrement. Pour la première fois, je vais enseigner en lycée pour toute une année scolaire. Pour la première fois, dans ce que l'on nomme des "CSP +", catégories socio professionnelles aisées. Pour la première fois, je commence cette année scolaire en faisant un bilan.

Neuvième saison pour ce journal. Première sous mon crâne.
