Ever since my childhood, I had questions in my mind about how other people behave in the way they do. Why they do it? Or why they don't behave like me? With that curiousity and watching Grey's Anatomy, I took Biology and Psychology in 11-12th grade. Coincidentally, I was learning about the brain, and about the mind and behaviour simultaneously. That made me dig deeper about the relationship between the two, and how the brain-behavior mechanisms work. That is what Neuropsychology is all about - knowing about these mechanisms. Beyond this keen interest, I wanted to make positive changes in people's lives by treating the brain disorders. Also making them aware about how they can reprogram their brain and use it to improve their overall health. People pleasers, when we realize that despite all those moments we disgard our discomforts or dreams, we still cannot guarantee that everyone will like us.
Perfection is almost never objective. When in moderation, striving for perfection helps us change ourselves or feel motivated toward our outcomes. But in extreme situations, it makes us self-critical and hyper-focused on outcomes or even causes us burnout.
The infamous "Psychology says facts"... Honestly, I think some of them are funny and some are insightful. But I will often come across a few others that overgeneralize nuanced topics, and that, in my opinion, is unhelpful. I remember being a socially awkward teen myself and overanalyzing myself over similar "Psychology" posts. Psychology and mental health are fields that already seem to have a hard time being taken seriously. So, while it can be fun to make these posts, it is also important to use the label of Psychology responsibly.
