Gryffindor Steve: 7th year | Quidditch team captain | prefect | favorite subject: defense against the dark arts | least favorite: divination

Facts:

Steve’s parents are the kind to care about the purity of wizard blood, kinda disappointed he isn’t a Slytherin;

Steve plays as Beater, and constantly gets hurt during matches, his specialty being taking hits for his teammates;

When he's chosen as Prefect, he's surprised and often complains about his duty. Truth is, he's always around to help and guide people, never skips a patrol and he's always fussing over a certain group of third-year kids;

Hufflepuff Robin: 6th year | part of the Hogwarts band | member of Wizard’s chess club | favorite: charms | least favorite: potions

Facts:

Robin hasn’t gotten anything less than Exceeded Expectations since Fly class in her first year;

She used to have a crush on Tammy Thompson in her 4th year, the Gryffindor prefect alongside Steve;

Robin is half-blood and she bonds with Eddie over this. Her father is a muggle, her mother a witch;

Ravenclaw Nancy: 6th year | part of almost every club imaginable | Head girl | runs the Hogwarts’ newspaper | favorite: charms | least favorite: none

Facts:

Despite knowing she wants to be a journalist, she takes as many classes and joins as many clubs as possible. She wants a full resume by the time she graduates;

Nancy is often close to burnout, Robin has to keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t end up in the infirmary, again;

Nancy is very competitive and often challenges Steve at quidditch or Robin at Wizard's Chess (she draws the line at D&D with Eddie);

Facts:

Eddie is a muggle-born and most Slytherins make his life a living hell for it;

Eddie runs the club for the magical version of D&D (kinda like wizard’s chess), an extremely unpopular game. There’s a rumor that the game is related to dark magic, so Eddie is forced to have club meetings in the dungeons;

Eddie gets into trouble for wearing the hellfire club t-shirt instead of his uniform;

Random Fruity Four Facts:

Their friend group formed during their 4th (Robin and Nancy), 5th (Steve) and 6th (Eddie) year;

They always sit together even if they’re supposed to be with their respective houses. Their friendship confuses the hell out of people;

Robin and Steve got detention in their 4th/5th year and while cleaning the potion supply closet they tested some potions, got to the veritaserum and confessed every little secret they had to each other. They've been besties ever since;

Eddie and Steve bicker all the time but Eddie never misses a quidditch match (despite hating the sport) and Steve is often seen going around the dungeons whenever a D&D session is taking place;

Nancy and Steve went on a couple of dates but decided they’re better off as friends;

Nancy matches her patrols with Steve's so she can vent about her crush on Robin;

Robin and Nancy always study together. They rarely let Steve and Eddie join because they get distracted too easily, and because they enjoy some alone time;

If Eddie and Steve pass their NEWTs, it will be only because of Robin and Nancy;

People gossip about them, especially because of Nancy (Head Girl) and Steve (Quidditch Captain);

At one point is rumored that Steve is dating Nancy and cheating on her with Robin, who’s dating Eddie, who’s in love with Nancy;

Steve spends Christmas at school until he becomes friends with Robin, who invites him over. Since Eddie's uncle lives close to her, they force Nancy to make the trip so that they can all be together for the holidays;

Nancy bonds first with Eddie. She was having some trouble with Potion (getting Es instead of Os) so she finds out through the Potion professor, that Eddie Munson is one of the greatest students he had ever had. Nancy forces him to tutor her and they become friends;

Nancy and Robin get their shit together first, after Nancy runs out her plan on how to ask Robin out with Steve at least 10 times;

Eddie and Steve go on dates without realizing it. It takes Steve turning down someone because of Eddie to make him understand that something is going on;

That is it for now, but I kinda want to write some scenes with no chronological order about this universe in the future.

The kids were first years when Steve becomes prefect, now they're in their third year but I don’t know where to put them regarding the houses, let me know what you think!

lemme give my opinion for the debate of which hogwarts house are the characters in stranger things are sorted in

Slytherin: Nancy, Mike (i wasn’t that sure about him being in slytherin but it mad the most sense to put him in Slytherin bc of his inability to process his feelings), Eddie (ik some of yall thinking hes a Gryffindor bc he dresses up like Sirius but hes in Slytherin bc his personality was like Regulus’, ran away but died with almost no one knowing that he died for good), Max, Erica, Brenner and ofc 1/Peter/Henry/Vecna

Gryffindor: Lucas, Hopper, Steve, Jason (he kinda gives me McLaggen vibes), and 11

Ravenclaw: Robin, Will, Suzie, Murray and Vickie(even though she had little screen time i think shes a Ravenclaw) (basically Suzie is the token straight)

I know Hogwarts Houses are not the thing to do anymore, but I came across someone who called Nancy Wheeler a Slytherin, and my brain wouldn't rest until I figured out what she would actually be.

It's not that Slytherin wouldn't be a logical choice in some ways. Nancy certainly has a strong desire to prove herself and plenty of ambition. However, those things are not what drive her, what motivate her.

Nancy would think that she's a Ravenclaw. She highly values truth and knowledge, but it's a means to an end for her. It's not the end goal itself. Knowledge is important to her because of what it gives her, the power and ability to act, and to make a difference.

She is highly like Hermione in this way, but therein lies my reasoning for ultimately choosing Gryffindor. Nancy, for all her intelligence, can be the most reckless, dunderheaded ball of loyalty and courage in the world. She can be a straight-up battering ram when rules she usually respects get in her way. Her motivation ultimately ends up being centered on justice and protectiveness.

Her ambition comes from a desire to be someone who can make a difference in the world; who can be seen for who she actually is, but also just because she cares. She wants to help people, and she'll use any means she can think of to do so (legal or not, lol)

#hufflpuff also focus on loyalty #but Nancy’s brand of loyalty is more emotionally distant and more action based #than their type #she cares but she certainly isn't the cuddly let people in type #i actually think very few of the hawkins kids are Gryffindor aside from Nancy #so this isn't a they're all brave and therefore Gryffindor thing #dustin is 100% Ravenclaw #steve mike and will are hufflepuff #robin would be Ravenclaw #el... hmm maybe Slytherin #as weird as that sounds she's highly self centric focused just because of the way she was raised #she's not recklessly courageous or particularly friendship based #she cares about HER people and honestly thats about it #the boys are the ones who keep pushing her into the “Hero” role when she just wants to live her life #erica is 100% slytherin #lucas and max however a tricky #I could see them both as Gryffindors #lucas is the protector kind of loyal where as mike is the friendship glue kind of loyal #and max's upbringing taught her to value strength and the image of courage as a shield #she is loyal to any who prove their trustworthiness to her and will fight any monster that stands in her way #she's not out for truth and knowledge or ambition or power #just love #Jonathan is Ravenclaw #some people may be surprised by that choice when he is exceedingly loyal and brave #but look at what he's interested in when he takes photographs and think about how he limits his loyalty to his family and the few they love #he loves watching the world and dissecting it because he likes to understand things #not just to gain anything from it #nancy wheeler #stranger things #i do understand that my opinions on the characters are not the end all be all so if you have other thoughts and takes please share them

eddie: hufflepuff. halfblood, he thinks. mum was a witch, doesnt have a clue about his dad. borderline disastrous in potions. tutoring from nancy wheeler kickstarted a long winded tale of babysitting younger students and dating steve harrington.

steve: slytherin. pureblood. really lived up to the spoilt slytherin pureblood stereotypes in his younger years, thankfully detached himself from them by about fifth year. a lot better at practical magic than theoretical subjects. sorted into slytherin because of the pressure his family put on him to be sorted there- wishes he could be re-sorted.

nancy: ravenclaw. pureblood. head girl, definitely. would’ve flourished in slytherin, wanted to spite her parents.

robin: hufflepuff. muggleborn. was almost in ravenclaw, and almost a hat stall.

jonathan: slytherin. half-blood. carries his camera to class more than he remembers his books. has dirt on everyone- anything that happens inside the castle walls is picked up by that damned camera.

argyle: hufflepuff. muggleborn. essentially the schools weed kingpin, widely known to the student body. teachers remain oblivious even when told directly- no ones sure what spell that is, but eddie’s largely believed to be behind it.

billy: slytherin. halfblood. touch his sister and you’ll have the blood prejudice cursed out of you within the hour.

which hogwarts houses would you personally put the stranger things characters in?

I see people do this and I sometimes agree and sometimes I don't.

I feel like because Gryffindors and Slytherins are almost two sides of the same coin, some characters that should be Gryffindors they put in Slytherin like Mike.

the second of the ahn sisters, laurie is by far much more visible compared to ripley in the majority of ways. she's at the top of her class, constantly juggling her activities with seeming ease, and is agreeable in many ways. refusing to live in her sisters’ shadow from a young age, she very quickly found her own voice in thiudrieks, straying from what her sister liked. an easy example is that she quit quidditch and got into choir  -  realizing her potential lies beyond that of sports. since her sister’s downward spiral upon entering aurelius, laurie is the ahn sister most people would know. often, since she looks like their mother and ripley looks like their father, many who aren’t close to them wouldn’t realize they’re sisters without a proper look.

it doesn’t make their relationship strained though. laurie and ripley are very close, and there’s little that could create a rift between them (not even romance)! in fact, ripley much prefers that laurie is succeeding where she couldn’t, allowing her to actually pursue what she always wanted to and get their parent’s off her back. they hangout a lot, especially since they’re in the same house, but laurie is the early bird between them for sure and only knows a handful of her older sister’s kooky corners. she’s also much closer to their mother compared to ripley, often calling her to complain or cry from stress (lol). with their younger sister sidney thrown in the mix, the ahn sisters are a bit of an unstoppable force  -  so watch out for them!

laurie is by no means gentle, but she is just as warm as her sister, though her warmth burns bright while ripley’s comforts. she’s all over the place all at once and has a hard time actually stopping  -  she usually needs ripley or her friends to tell her to take a break lest her body does. a teacher’s pet at her core, she’s very much social in the best ways, knowing what to say and when (sometimes to her advantage). it often results in her having an air of maturity that has a lot of people mistaking her as the older sister. however, as much as she tries not to be, she’s also quite sensitive, especially when it comes to friendships. it takes quite a bit to properly get to know her just because of her experience with fake friendships and backstabbing, but once you’re in with her, she’s you’re ride or die.
