It was pouring. She was walking barefoot after some time she removes her shoes. Now she is drenched. But she does not understand where to go. At last, she got tired and sits on the pavement in the fetal position. She removes the claw stuck in her hair and lets it flow. Somehow the rain calms her.

a voice called from behind, “you are lucky to have them,” she turns

“Rebekah” she was there with an umbrella and with her shoes

Rebekah looks at her .She was drenched in rain, but most importantly  a  carefree, void “are you going to sit here all night?”

Zoya answered lowly, “What if I want to,”

Rebekah sighs and closes the umbrella" then I have to join you"

after a few minutes, Rebekah and Zoya was aside each other

Zoya spoke, “I thought you will slaughter after,-”

“last time when you turn Hayley to werewolf and me to me. Yes, I would have, but then Klaus disclosed all about your plan and also THE Klaus plan of slaughtering all of us.”

“So Klaus send you here?”

“Don’t tell me my brother turned himself as the scratchy cat again,” Rebekah push a  part of hair behind

“He wants answers and I remain silent,”

“about your parents. Don’t worry, we won’t talk about it. I am done with for myself listening about parents”

After a while, Rebekah spoke, “Actually, it felt good sitting here enjoying the rain, but is that all you do while enjoying rain? As far as the others won’t see us,”

“ nope. There is more and about others, they won’t be back till morning,” her eyes glint with excitement “but it is weird”

Elijah saw Niklaus with a very expressive face, “Now what happens Niklaus?”

“Rebekah is out for fun,” Elijah closed his eyes ,

There were footsteps but of not humans. klaus look at his brother “horse”

“horse-s”

They go to the compound with Klaus trailing behind him. He saw his sister and Zoya on a horse, “what in the holy name you both bring horses in our home? - And sister your fashion sense seems to be diminished with your memory,”

Elijah noticed Zoya slump body  "What happened to her?“ she was lying on the horse

“oh nothing she is fine just tired. Her horse was not moving, and neither she was ready to give up on it. So I tag her along with me and my horse,”

Both brothers step down. Niklaus snarled, “ I asked you to stay at the plantation,”

“It was boring and I don’t regret doing it.,” she smiled big “ now who wants a friendly hug,”

“We would rather die” she was in old 90s men’s clothes drenched with dirt all around her and a fake mustache. She rolled her eyes and moves to Zoya, but her horse groans “that monster loves her”

Niklaus added, “a charming habit people around her have it,”

Rebekah smile on her memories, “I don’t deny. She is something to bring a smile to others,”

klaus moves away from them, “meet her annoying self,”

Rebekah gave her back “have you met you,”

“she is all drenched” Elijah gains their attention

“is that brother?” Klaus act innocently

“you both stay away from her. She is a wonderful company. I don’t want any of you around her and Klaus, if you don’t want me to give you a big long hug you better took care of my horse,” he rolled his eyes but accomplished her command.

Rebekah shakes her, “Zoya,”

she mumbled “my Romeo,”

she tried to make her leave the horse’s neck when notice Elijah questioning look “oh, we both were playing an alternative version of comic Romeo Juliet,” she tried again but Zoya was not letting it go” uh this horse,“

Rebekah moves her hands toward her waist when Elijah interrupts: “Don’t.” he spoke calmly “ Sister, you go change. I will take care of both. You are running the carpet,”

“ Are you sure? You both are like water and fire?”

“That leads steamy” she spoke from haze still clinging to the horse

Rebekah rolled her eyes, “I will go take a bath,” he nods

He waits for her to leave them. When he was sure “Are you drunk?” he moves hair from her face. she was still clinging to the horse

“Nope,” she answered with close eyes

he studies her  "doesn’t look like,“

She groans and snuggles against the horse  "Hey, I don’t drink… “he was already having a hard to digest his view "I am drugged”. concern and shock engulf him

His face turned serious, “did Rebekah-?. she shook her head. crease form on his face and voice turn low and dull "I expect you to be a sensible grown-up ”

“I expect you to be …” she chuckles “ leave it,”

he examines her face “ you can’t sleep. Till I know exactly what it is?”

“I agree. It is scary and dark,” he knew it means her nightmares.

He decides to put it in the rest of the list “get down .you need to change you will catch the fever”

“one more on the list. great”

he command “ get down”

“he is warm” she rubs her face more in his neck

he felt irritation around his neck “I can figure out the way you are clinging to him”

“uh, so you are angry”

he took away the reins from her .he control his voice this time “I am not .and what makes you think that ?"She let a laugh out

"I am scared if I lose him I fall”

he notices her eyes get open, they were red as if woken up for a long time. of course, she hasn’t rested for a long time almost 2 days “you have my word -” she interrupts “-as you wow”

there was a silence. A big silence. He doesn’t know what to say. just reading each other there is no side glance, no retention, a secret between them, just them. Elijah swore to kill anyone who took his place. Just that place. he swear if Klaus tries to take that, he would make him suffer even father won’t think.

Suddenly, he pulls her by waist fast enough to make her any move. She slips from the horse but Elijah puts his other arm around her thighs, lifting her up in the air. Zoya on reflex put her hands around his shoulder, “Elijah” it was a small yelp, but he heard it. They make an exchange of words through eyes. no explanation just emotions. Zoya’s hands travel from his shoulder to neck .don’t know what came over her That she rakes her one hand in his hair.

His face speaks the need for affection almost begging for it. In an instant, she pulls his face to her heart.

their grip becomes more eager, but she didn’t stop smoothing his hair “sh sh ”  It was not a need, but about letting go of their rules.

Elijah’s eyes turned glassy on her showing affection. Last time when she shows something toward him was very long.

he enjoys her fragrance, which flourishes more in rain, snuggling more around her collarbone.

He heard a shower getting turned off. He lowers her on the ground. He spoke low “Rebekah ”

he notices her looking at him and he got the answer “I made a mess of you”

“that’s fine” his voice was low and rusty

he heard a footstep and back away from her a bit, “ I thought that horse will never ever let you go” Rebekah’s voice break their eye contact

“I will look after him” he took the reins and took him out. Rebekah notices his brother leaving. She expects him to give her a hug.

“ so Juliet. It’s time to get a bath”

they walk upstairs

“you go took bath I will pick something of your size ”

“thank you Rebekah” she enters shower

After a while. She peeps out of the door and Rebekah catches her “come out and try these. Till then I will look for other outfits”

“Rebekah, can you pass me clothes? I will change inside”

“Rebekah your phone.” Elijah enters the room and Zoya shut that a little open door “sorry I didn’t -”

“But you still make a baby girl shy” she gave him a tight lip smile “and you. I am not into girls. you will you step out because I can’t figure out your size with lose fitting clothes”

“Rebekah as far as they covered me I am fine with anything”

“ I guess I have to see you naked -”

Elijah holds her sister by her arm “Sister. Your phone is ringing for the bloody fifth time. Please talk to whoever it is or I will break it ”

she rolled her eyes but took it away and walk out.

She was inside guarding the door when she heard, “You can change. I have to catch up with her, she will not be back soon” with that he vamps speed out closes the door behind.

he saw Rebekah again going back to room “ Rebekah ” he pull her in a hug

After 10 minutes Zoya opens the door to the siblings

“Elijah, don’t you thought it’s enough” Elijah had his both arms wrapped around her.  He saw Zoya and drops his arms. He looks at the watch “oh we are past 12. Feel like going to bed. Good night”

“oh we are not”

Badger Tales: The Teacup Fliers – Meghan Tibbits

“Badger Tales” is inspired by the whimsical and imaginative artwork my mom painted for us when I was little. Growing up, my world was filled with fantastic creatures like the brave Mr. and Mrs. Mouse. “The Teacup Fliers” is based on two of her original paintings: Mrs. Badger reading from the book “Badger Tales”, and two little mice flying a teacup parachute. Now that I am older, I am thrilled to bring her characters to life and put into words the stories I dreamed up for them as a child.

My mom and I have always bonded over storybooks and other creative projects. We are big fans of Beatrix Potter, and sought to channel some of her old-fashioned simplicity into our book. In a fast-paced and rapidly changing world, we wanted to create a story that parents and children could read together. It is so important to slow down for a moment and appreciate what you have. Our first tale, “The Teacup Fliers”, is about living in the moment and realizing what you’re searching for has been in front of you all along.
