#really want amity to be protective over gus

What are some other hairstyles you imaging the group in? Any fun ones that Hunter tried (or was forced into by Willow, Amity, etc) as his hair got longer?
THIS IS A LONG ONE (with art) SO I'M PUTTING IT UNDER A READ MORE! :)
Tumblr media
first of all I think GUS would be the one with the most hairstyles, hats and drip in general - he loves the human world's culture and their way of using fashion to express themselves uniquely - including hair. I mean, he also has curly hair. So he would have durag styles, various protection styles, twists and braids. And, because his hair curls, he could vary between long and shorter styles.
I also think Gus would have styles that are more typically "feminine" too, as he is very gender-non-conforming in the crew's art of him.
Though, I will say, it works for Gus in-canon that he only keeps one style at first (narratively speaking, not realistic haircare - I think?) because then that would emphasise his time in the human realm later on to be an important developing arc for him (assuming they would actually give him various styles, as indicative of the bits we got of him in episode 1.)
I think, had season 3 happened, we would have gotten a more vibrant Gus. He wants to be an ambassador, he loves the human realm, whom else than GUS to be the one to have an arc where he explores and embodies the full-on SELFEXPRESSION!
Fashion and hair is a way to express the uniqueness of yourself. If Luz' wish as the main character is to be understood, then the (positive) characters around her will (one way or another) embody different lessons for that theme. Gus: Self-expression. (Fashion, style, hair, charisma) Hunter: Identity. (Confidence, self-love, self-respect) Willow: Inner self. (Vulnerability, self-care, self-acceptance) Amity: Outer self. (Presentation of your truth, pride of oneself.) Vee: Voice. (Standing up for yourself, perseverance) Camila: Support. (Union of group, accepting and giving love)
And I think their fashions/hair aka - character designs would reflect these various things!
On a more fun note I think the only reason Hunter could pull off his own unique style is because Gus helps him combine them properly.
Tumblr media
Hunter really said dollhouse fairycore and Gus ran with it.
Tumblr media
AMITY: Basic styles, probably thinking of her siblings to feel closer to them. Especially Emira's hairstyles. :) I think, because her mom was so controlling of how her hair presented, I think Amity moves away from doing too much with it and rather let it be adventurous and free.
Tumblr media
WILLOW: Lots of braids and pigtails. I think she likes to have practical hairstyles as well as more "gentle" ones. The practical ones to reflect her jock-side, and the lose ones to reflect her more gentile and sensitive side! :)
<3
HUNTER: I think just keeps his in a ponytail or (as in the canon) just loose and shaggy without much care. Showing his early stages of being a blank slate. Just let things have it's course to see what "grows" from it, y'know? And then he gets his iconic haircut scene and literally "starts over" with a new arc. :)
<3
I think LUZ just keeps her iconic style that she's had through the show, with the additional tiny low-pinned ponytail that makes her look like a rouge adventurer! Kinda like Amity. I also think Luz hair grows a bit more wavy the longer it gets! :)
<3
VEE is also someone who goes through the most changes, but in her body and face rather than fashion. I think her style would be of the alternative side, perhaps a bit of a concert-kid vibe and basic comfy stuff. She's visually been shown to have the opposite expressions of Luz, quite literally being from opposite realms and having opposite personalities. Where Luz felt hopeful Vee was quick to give up. Our basilisk girl also seem to fit in more with the human realm, enjoying being a normie - after all, her life wasn't normal up till that point. So it makes sense for her to seek it and even find her safety in her own baseline.
BUT YEAH!
I THINK THAT'S IT????
ENJOY MY THOUGHTS.

Round 3, Match 17: Eda Clawthorne vs. Sakyo Furuichi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted kids:
Eda Clawthorne: Luz Noceda, King Clawthorne, Hunter, Edric Blight, and debatably, Amity Blight, Willow Park, and Gus Porter
Sakyo Furuichi: Azami Izumida, Banri Settsu, Juza hyodo, Taichi Nanao (these are just the main ones but tbh all Mankai company characters who were under 20 in year 1 count)
Propaganda under the cut!
Eda Clawthorne:
1. “Eda Clawthorne always said she was a terrible influence and took the word “maternal” as an insult. She then proceeded to accidently adopt a sentient demon beast thing, raise him, adopt some human that tripped into her dimension, mentor her, all while being on the run from the tyrannical government. She canonically adopts King in the second season and King and Luz call each other siblings. She also calls them “her kids.” Eda attempts to sacrifice herself for them at many times and tries her best to keep them safe, and is really sad about the fact that they’ll one day leave her to go back to their own families. She puts away her own biases against the school system so that Luz can lead magic. The maternal instincts basically kick her out of nowhere and she goes from a badass, absolute menace to society to badass, absolute menace to society who happens to have two chaos gremlins.”
Link to the rest here!
Sakyo Furuichi:
“his first adopted child was azami, azami was his yakuza boss's kid but the boss was always busy and the mom died when azami was 5 so sakyo at age 23 ish raised azami singlehandedly. he went out of his way to protect azami's dream of becoming a makeup artist when his biological dad disapproved,, like when azami secretly ordered makeup online, sakyo told the boss it was "stuff teenage boys like" which prompted the boss to leave it alone. azami even said he sees sakyo as a dad 🥺
besides azami, sakyo also fusses over his other kids tho he has difficulty being honest abt his feelings. he's v strict abt the company budget (they're all in a theatre company called mankai company btw) but it's be when he joined the company was in crippling debt so he doesn't want them to go through that again and lose their home. he also expressed disappointment that he wasn't the first one to take banri drinking when banri became of age which is so dad behaviour to me <3”

in regards to that text post you tagged as hunlow followed by "listen to me". i have a chair. i am sitting down. i'm listening if you want to explain.
Waaah I am all jumbled up so this is not gonna be very eloquent but lemme do a little word vomit here.
Anyway. The poem 'Yes & No' by Natalie Wee and the complete huntlow overload it gives me every time I read it.
It works from both their perspectives on how they view the other person. Those parallels do be paralleling. I might blabber about it from Hunter's POV....another day. But because the poem is written by a woman and refers to a 'Him' lets focus on Willow's side of things. It's the side that gives me the most brainrot anyway. I really do love a good subversion. A girl who thinks she is too monstrous for a boy whom she views as too gentle.
I think very often about Willow's relationship with her own powers. The show went somewhat into depth about how being 'Half a Witch' destroyed her confidence. The part of her that could not excel at anything that wasn't plant-centric. There's nothing particularly complex about her feelings of inferiority. It's very easy to understand. She's Mildred Hubble coded.
HOWEVER it's also shown in her debut episode that Willow losing control of her emotions can lead to big destructive outbursts. This is the part that was touched on as a conflict in For the Future, but was never really explored at length.
This ability of hers is extremely dangerous. She can severely hurt both herself and the people around her. Surely, that must be a frightening reality for a little girl to live with.
I wonder when these outbursts first started. I wonder if that incident in the detention pit was the first time her own magic nearly killed her. I wonder if something happened on the day of Amity's birthday party when little Willow felt like she had lost everything. I wonder a lot of things. But mostly I wonder how being like this since she was young has effected Willow's mindset, her behaviour and her complexes. What does she think of herself? Is she afraid of what she's capable of? Is she afraid of her own emotions?
Anyway, with that in mind. Here is the poem. Beat by beat.
reasons to not kiss him:
1. you weren’t raised to love tender.
Willow was born and raised to be a sweet gentle girl with a soft spot for plants. She's silly and lighthearted yet mature for her age and tries to remain rational in irrational situations. She allows hugs from Gus and she allows Luz's touchy affection and cooing over how cute she is.
But by "love tender", I interpret it as Willow not knowing how to love and be loved in a way that puts her in a vulnerable position. The bleeding open wound kind of love. She's already been thrown away once in her life like she's something disposable so she has decided that it will inevitably happen again. Willow has already braced herself for Luz and Gus finding other friends and leaving her behind. She's loved them so sweetly this whole time but she's always been keeping them at arm's length, scared to pour too much of her heart into their hands. She's simply savouring the time she has with them until they drift away.
But Hunter is a different story. There is something about him that demands she love tender. And it's terrifying that she feels the pressure to do so. And it's even more terrifying that she so badly wants to.
2. when he’s around all you do is tremble. when he’s around you want to get on your knees. look how much power he has over you. it’s dangerous.
Willow is a girl who has been carelessly discarded like her feelings meant nothing, made to feel like she was a waste of an existence and who is also deathly afraid of herself and the unstable magical battery pulsing inside of her. This results in having to lock up her more reckless emotions in order to keep everyone safe, but also to protect her own heart. She's gotten good at it. And she's also now perceived as an iron clad witch who cannot be weakened.
But the presence of Hunter reveals something very concerning. She can be weakened. His smile and his voice and his entire disposition is a breach of the barriers she has spent years building. He is capable of puncturing her clean through. And the part that makes her lips tighetn is that he's not even aware of it.
It doesn't sound so foreboding on the surface. So what if he can make her smile until she can't stop smiling? So what if he can make her laugh until she's breathless? But then she'd have to regain herself and realize that as harmless as that is, it's a result of her losing control of her emotions. Which she rarely does anymore. And it's all because of him with his soft eyes and his kind smile and his shy adoration for her.
And if he can do that, he can do far worse to her. That's the scary part.
3. he’s too good at forgiving and you’re too good at violence.
4. you know what they say about monsters. you know what happens to the boys who love them. are you going to do that to him?
5. your hands don’t know how to be gentle. think about the last beautiful thing that shattered in your palms. the fresh rosebuds crumbling between your fingers like a bruise. you wolf-boy, you war machine. you wouldn’t know how to hold something magic and not destroy it.
Willow is not stupid. She's not unobservant. Hunter did not need to stay a word for her to realize that he is a boy who has been wronged by someone who he loved with his whole aching heart. He has been hurt in a way that will leave his heart aching forever and ever.
But it's a sharp sting to know that in spite of that, he continues to fall deeply in love with every person who shows him compassion. Nothing can burn out his warm glow. He loves and he loves until he's sick with the stuff. And Willow doesn't know how he does it, but his glow is so nice to graze in. Once you get too close to him, you don't want to leave.
When Willow hugs him, his fingers tentatively twist into the sleeves of her cardigan. She sees how he looks at her and she knows he'd like nothing more than to squeeze her tight and drown in her.
He's in love with Willow the way he's in love with everything and she desperately wants to give him everything.
She wants to place her hands on his cheeks and watch as she melts into her palms, finally satiated after all he had been starving for.
She wants to fall in love with him.
But she can't. Because she knows he'd fall in love with her too.
And then eventually, she would hurt him. Like he had been hurt before.
She can't trust herself to not hurt him.
And in the aftermath of the hurt, she would cry herself hoarse with ragged apologies.
And because she was kind and because he knows she didn't mean to hurt him, he would squeeze her tight and say "It's okay."
Then she'd hurt him again.
"It's okay."
And again.
"It's okay."
A painful cycle that spins until there's barely of him left.
And Willow is scared that by that point that she'll be too weak for his soft eyes to ever let him go.
She doesn't know what will become of her.
She doesn't want to find out.
So to stay on the safe side, they will never begin.
6. if you hurt him it might kill you
Tumblr media
7. if you hurt him you might kill yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. you are very bad at rehabilitation. this is one addiction you’d fail to give up. he’s going to ruin you for all other kisses and all other boys and you’ll spend the rest of your life trying to forget his name.
Willow has analyzed the situation and she's come to the conclusion that if she allowed this sweet boy entry to her briar n' bramble guarded heart, they'd bend to his will, clearing a path to the delicate structure. And once he holds it in his hands, he'll leave his fingerprints all over it.
This is the damage she's talking about.
The damage he can do to her.
9. you still aren’t sure he isn’t a dream.
10. if you kiss him, you might wake up.
You would think, with all this lamenting Willow does over Hunter's existence, that he's making her miserable.
Far from it.
She's reluctant to admit it, even to herself, but she's already addicted to whatever it is that he's emanating. Like a flower stretching towards the sunlight.
Sometimes he doesn't feel feel.
Typical of an overthinker to not believe that could be as wonderful as it seems.
In an ideal world, they could both make each other happy.
If she doesn't ruin everything.
Mistletoe kisses. Parasitic in nature.
What if she leeches all the light left in him?
What if a kiss is her wakeup call?
reasons to kiss him:
1. because he’s beautiful.
He's so beautiful.
2. because he asked.
He's begging. He's begging every time he looks at her. He certainly doesn't mean to. Nor does he know that he's doing it. But somehow, without saying a word, he has crumbled to his knees begging for her to pour of a little of her heart into his lips to warm his blood.
He wants her to love tender and be loved raw. And he wants to do the same.
And if she said no, he would simply reply "that's okay."
But she doesn't want to say no.
She wants to give him everything.
That's the problem.
And even worse....she is pretty sure she is about to crack.
She will give him everything.
Because...
3. because he preceded please with, i’m not afraid of you.

Morreeeeee Owl House headcanons!
Luz's favorite class in school is flex/homeroom hour but her favorite core class would have to be science
Amity uses reading glasses because her eyesight isn't the best
Belos cared a lot for the first few grimwalkers, reminded strongly of his brother. But eventually, as they kept betraying him, his care for them gradually dimmed to nothing
Hunter has worn a cape to school in the human realm and would do it again
Willow's favorite human realm flower is a hyacinth. Despite this sge has a particular fondness towards carnivorous plants as well
Hunter loves to help out, helping Camilla any time he can. Camilla makes sure he gets breaks so he doesn't overwork himself on accident
Lilth made hootie a door to protect in the new school of the boiling isles. Give hootie food and he'll do your homework
Emira and Edric are like the Fred and George of the boiling isles, always pulling pranks on other students. They have figured out the line on what's acceptable now, though.
Boscha and Amity actually become friends again, though it took a lot of time. She is still petty and rude at times, but has definitely softened a bit
Camilla wanted to have another child but didn't have the chance to do so after her husband's death. This explains the bunkbed in Luz's room. She enjoys having Vee and Hunter around in addition to Luz as well, since taking care of people gives her a sense of meaning and comfort
Gus puts on shows with illusions for the younger children of the boiling isles as a hobby
Lilith has dyed her hair multiple colors, trying to find the one she likes best. She really like lavender, though ended up sticking with her iconic red
King, even as a mature adult, does not ever roar to use his power. He still just 'wheh!'s in a much deeper tone. It's kinda hilarious to think about
Eda loves to go on flies with her sister to just catch up on life. She also loves to just go harpy mode randomly and impress people
Hunter and Amity fight over who gets to braid Willow's hair. They ended up making a chart and everything
Hunter in addition to Waffles has multiple other palisman chose him. He makes sure to give them each love evenly. These other palisman include a wolf, a woodpecker, a turtle, etc
Raine and Eda like to go outside when they can't sleep and watch the stars together
Thats all for now!

I agree that Luz "inheriting" Owlbert would be a really good way to end her arc about palismen on the surface, but do you think it could also interfere with her arc about becoming her own witch?
Looks within the fathoms of Pandora's box. There is... So much that could be unpacked with this. I won't cover it entirely here but Luz's 'arc' of becoming her own witch actually is fraught with topics like where she gets her magic, what her magic says about her, how the show frames her at the end, whether or not she actually ever becomes her own witch, whether or not Stringbean even counts as an extension of that with how he was made, if that theme was actually important to the show, let alone when put against themes like found family, etc. etc.
I'm going to TRY and keep this mostly to a fundamental flaw in your argument.
Just because a craftsman uses their master's tools does not mean they will make the same things the craftsman did.
Your argument says that Luz using a tool made by her to emulate someone else and make what they would (like... I dunno, Azura, who she quotes for her final lines while still having magic) is more herself than if she uses someone else's tools in order to make something that is truly unique to herself. That what a person does is less important than that which they use to do it. It robs Luz (and fucks over Hunter's arc from literally his second appearance) of agency in choosing what type of witch she wants to be.
Because, you know, if the palisman entirely decides the witch, are Gus and Willow now no longer their own people? They now must follow the paths that their palisman are okay with? The statement of intent helps but it isn't the whole person and also begs the question of if the statement even dictates the sort of person you are. Gus says he wants to be an ambassador to the human realm but that doesn't dictate if he'll do it with friendship, manipulation, tricks, illusions, etc. etc. which I would place WAY MORE importance on how he is an ambassador than literally the title of ambassador. Willow is similar. When she wants strength to protect her friends, is that to stop them being harmed from when they get into stupid situations or the power to be able to stop them from doing the thing in the first place if she thinks they'll hurt themselves doing something? And these two statements are awkward next to each other because one is a statement of morals and character while the other is just what they want to do in the future. Why are these both equally valid answers?
It's almost like it's really hard to boil someone down to a single sentence.
This is without getting into more abstract statements like "I want to be able to choose my own future." Cool. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN AMITY!? That is actually just what Luz said that made it so she COULDN'T get a palisman so why did it work for you? Sure, it's nice to want choice but does that mean you intend to fight for other people to have that right? To become so powerful no one can dictate who you are? It's a meaningless statement without any further context and doesn't even have the morality or future plans that Gus or Willow had.
"I want to be understood," is the exact same. What does that say about the sort of person Luz wants to be, let alone what type of witch she wants to be. Worse yet is that Stringbean does react to the words but... Luz literally gave up agency with her palisman. She let Stringbean decide with no actual intent behind them. While nice for the meta theme of individuality and choosing your own way, it fucks over the ability for Stringbean to say ANYTHING about Luz, her relationships, her interest in what type of person she wants to be, etc. like that.
Worse yet, it's all tell, no show. How one uses their palisman should be way more indicative of who they are and the sort of witch they are than simply a single line said to them during creation, especially since people change. Circumstances change. The show even admits that having your entire world figured out at fourteen is not really a thing. It's part of why Luz doesn't make a choice or the like. Her statement is just a feel good one for her that entirely ignores the fact that everyone has shown her MOUNTAINS of understanding over the course of the series but apparently that wasn't good enough. Just one episode ago before that after all, she was forgiven for something she thought was unforgivable because her friends knew better than to think Luz would do something like this out of malice or on purpose. You know... Because they showed her understanding. But then we're told she needs MORE understanding.
Which one of these is more effective?
And hey, if the show really was worried that a palisman overrode who you were A: they wouldn't have given Hunter Caleb's palisman, let alone had Hunter absorb CALEB'S palisman because that kind of fucks his arc immediately of trying to be his own person. B: You can do something with that. We could have seen, even in just steps instead of a focused episode, that Luz and Owlbert struggle to work together at first because they are expecting different things out of each other. As the two show more understanding to each other though, accept who the other is, one of the other major themes of the show, they are stronger for it. There's enough familiarity to work together after all but they need to actually get in sync. Again, show this bond instead of just stating it.
Not only that but Luz is portrayed as someone who helps bring in others. That she theoretically helps people in bad situations find a place where they can be themselves. Taking in a palisman who no longer has a use would actually be a great follow up to that part of her character and a more explicit version of that hypothetical theme than what she does with most of the other characters. Instead, she is one of two Hexside members who gets to make their palisman (unless Amity didn't I guess). The only one who customizes specifically to her, in theory since she doesn't. Why didn't she take one in? Give them a place instead of leaving them as an outcast?
Unless we want to say that's not a part of who Luz wants to be. That that's on accident, which does feel accurate to a lot of what Luz does on this topic. That's also an inherent issue with her statement. "I want to be understood." It is an inherently selfish one. One that asks others to show endless understanding... Even if she doesn't have to. After all, she's allowed to lie, ENDLESSLY, break her word and act behind people's back but the one time Eda does that, for Luz's safety? Luz doesn't show her ANY understanding. Doesn't give her even a chance to explain or talk. Instead, she gets into a fight with Eda. That plus her statement seems to imply that Luz being her own witch is... Selfish. Self serving. That who she wants to be as this mythical figure is for herself.
The final part of TOH doesn't help with it either. An older Luz should have had a real statement for what she wanted to study. "I'm choosing X because of Y goal." Instead her goal is just... Magic. To do as much as she wants. Actually putting it to use? Who needs that? That's actual work and having to make decisions instead of being an eternal student. Of having to take a title beyond just 'witch'.
This still isn't even all of it. Siiiiiigh.
What's worse is that even the action of Luz trying to give Stringbean their own option in this is the facsimile of compassion. Sure, she let it be up to her but... Couldn't you come out already? I know I left you in an egg because I refused to be open and honest with you and make an actual bond but come on, stop making me sad because you're not awake yet. After all, Amity even has to comfort Luz about the fact Stringbean hasn't hatched. If Luz actually gave a fuck about the thing's agency... She would just grin and bear it because that's part of allowing someone else to make a choice: Dealing with the consequences.
Luz, and to some extent the show, didn't want those though. Instead, they wanted a couple nice lines that make NO SENSE in context but sound really nice to the people projecting onto Luz. Because they TOLD us nice things, they stopped caring about what the actions were saying.
And actions will always speak louder than words so no, I don't think Owlbert would have gotten in the way of Luz defining what sort of witch she wants to be. No worse than Stringbean did at least.

| Hunter x Parental! Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/N had tried everything in her power to protect her adopted son and his friends, so when she got pushed into the Human Realm with the Hexsquad, she confides to Camilla about how Hunter must think she's a bad parent.
Character: Luz, Amity, Hunter, Vee, Gus, Camilla.
Camilla stared at the ex coven scout, her eyes glistening with tears that have yet to fall from her E/C optics, as she looks at the women who knew more about being a mother than she ever did. Camilla couldn't comprehend why this all powerful witch came to her, a human, to confide in.
"Hunter must really think I'm a poor excuse of a mother." Y/N said, the tears wanting to fall from her face. Camilla panicked, not wanting her to cry.
"No, no. Hunter doesn't think that sweetheart," Camilla spoke in a motherly tone, the thirty-Five-year old looked at her in disbelief, before scoffing.
"How could he not, I mean, look at me. I'm a mess." She put her head in her hands and sighed, "I used to be powerful, he looked up to me, I could tell. He wanted to follow in my footsteps, but he doesn't have any magic. The only thing he has is Flapjack," Y/N said. Camilla frowned at the new mother, she put her hands on the others knees causing the witch to look at her.
"Hey now, don't say that. Hunter is glad to have you," Y/N felt her ears and cheeks heat at how gentle the older women's voice was.
"Really?" She was skeptical, cause who would be glad to have her?
"Really. Now, why don't you go and talk to him. I think he needs his mom right now," Camilla told her, a gentle smile on her face. Y/N smiled in return, before leaning forwards and kissing the women's cheek in gratitude. She pulled away, not noticing the deep blush that was on Camilla's face.
"Thanks for the advice Camilla. Luz is lucky she has you as a mother. Welp, wish me luck, Amor." Y/N said as she stood, winking at the blushing mess of the women who watched the witch walk away.
"O-oh." Camilla muttered under her breath, not believing exactly what had happened.
As Y/N made her way down the stairs of the house, going towards the living room, where the TV was lit up. On the couch sat Willow, Vee, Gus, and Hunter and on the ground in front of the couch sat Luz and Amity, all watching whatever movie they had decided to watch for their regular movie night.
Hunter was the first to notice her, his eyes lighting up as he stood up from his seat and went over to her. Grabbing one of her hands, tugging on it, "Mom, you won't believe what we're watching." Hunter said, the word mom leaving his mouth as if it was the most normal thing that could come from the young teens mouth.
"Yeah?" She asked, a smile on her face. He pulled her to the couch, having her sit next to him whilst he sat next to Willow.
"It's called the Wizard of Oz!" He spoke, before telling her what what she missed of the show. Y/N sat there, watching her kid talk about the movie. It was so good to see him so happy now that he was out of their coven. She smiled at the thought of them finally being free from that monster. Finally free.
End Note: okay, the ending was probably rushed, but I'll either fix it later or write a new one. But I've had this idea for Hunter for a while, because this boy definitely needs a really tight hug from his parental figure 😭 I can take request if anyone wants anymore Hunter & his parental figure. And I guess the Noceda's have a thing for witches lmao

I finally watched Nimona and, yeah, fuck, it made me feel things. And because this is how my brain works I immediately started thinking of all the similarities & parallels to The Owl House and how the characters would interact with each other. Here’s what my genius mind has cooked up so far:
• Nimona hasn’t interacted with peers since Gloreth so being thrust into a friend group takes some warming up to (yeah she’s actually like a thousand years old but c’mon she’s a teenager in every way that matters). The Hexsquad is patient, but they’re also persistent, with each finding their own way to bond with her over time. Luz bonds with her over drawing & soon they’re writing graphic novels together (I’m very clever). Willow sets her up with a pizza garden (seeds & plants for tomato, onion, garlic, mushrooms, basil, peppers, oregano, and OLIVES- rip Ambrosius). Gus & Nim come up with a game where she transforms into anything or anyone she wants and Gus tries to use his illusions to copy her. Amity tells Nim all about the Bonesborough Brawl and the two of them train together for the rest of the year to enter the next competition. Hunter introduces her to all the Palismen of the forest, who accept her instantly when she transforms to play with them. She can talk to Vee about what it’s like to be a shapeshifter, and how it felt to think they’d never be accepted most of their lives and then suddenly find themselves with a loving family. Nim & King Go Goblin Mode Every. Damn. Day.
• At first, Ballister is incredibly nervous about her spending time alone with these strange children. After all, he’s the first person she’s been able to trust in a thousand years, so her social skills are a little rusty, and he doesn’t know these damn kids so how can he know they’re really his baby’s friends??? Goblin Mode may be activated, but so is Protective Dad Mode. Of course, they win him over when he sees how happy Nimona is with them and how genuinely kind & welcoming they are.
• Nimona & the Clawthorne Kids become a team of awesome chaos. Rules are made to be broken. Property will be damaged. Bread puns will be made. Eda likes to joke that one day she’ll snatch the kid up & make her an official Clawthorne. Ballister promises that if she ever tries it she’ll lose the other arm.
• Speaking of which, whenever Bal’s prosthetic arm comes off, Eda tosses off the hook as fast as she can, Naruto runs at him, and bumps her arm stub up against his, declaring that they alone have paid “the true price of love”. Ambrosius doesn’t think it’s very funny, but Raine does.
• Ballister, Ambrosius, Lilith & Hunter have all gotten together to form a “So You Were Brainwashed Into Dedicating Yourself To A Crooked System” support group.
So yeah, this is where my mental state is at. Feel free to add onto my madness.

The Kids’ Growth VS Emperor Belos
Tumblr media
I love how in the fight against Belos, all the kids have their part to play, as a callback to past adventures that culminates here???
Tumblr media
Like Luz. Her being human is of course vital here, at least to Philip in that he wants to project his failures over Caleb onto Luz as revealed in Hollow Mind, and thus opts to spare her. This allows Luz to strike a deal and trick Belos like in Young Blood, Old Souls, using her invisibility glyph, a very Luz-specific ability from Echoes of the Past! Her plant glyph from Enchanting Grom Fright works well with Willow’s spells, as does Luz’s ice glyph from Adventures in the Elements (an episode that developed Luz and her future girlfriend) acting with Amity’s magic!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we’ve got Willow and Amity, acting as the powerhouses of the group as their type of magic has been established to be in Through the Looking Glass Ruins, having taken down an Abomaton together in Labyrinth Runners; They’re in sync now and trust in each other’s abilities. The show has been building up Willow’s physical strength in particular with her ability to restrain Belos and hold up the pillars thanks to the training from Any Sport in a Storm, while we see how Amity’s Abomination magic has developed as it had in Escaping Expulsion, using the hip flask introduced in Eclipse Lake to shield Luz!
Tumblr media
Gus comes into play here with his illusions and ability to project memories, as well as the mirror he won from Adrian, all from Labyrinth Runners; His feats pay off in his ability to distract Belos with his own memories, while also getting a glimpse of them... No doubt relevant for Season 3 when we delve into the lore of Gravesfield. Kid chose to stick with his illusions and believe in them after Through the Looking Glass Ruins and that faith paid off!
Tumblr media
Hunter established his ability to warp and move at high speeds in Separate Tides, which he uses to save Gus, who’s done the same for him. It allows Hunter to avoid Belos’ attacks, and we’ve had the buildup of Hunter and Flapjack’s relationship from Hunting Palismen; Hunter still being able to use magic while being drained because Flapjack is an outside source. And Flapjack’s mere presence kind of saves Hunter, as the sight of him exposes Belos’ rage and causes the facade to drop; A bitterness over Caleb we saw in Hollow Mind.
Tumblr media
And finally, King; King the Titan, of whom only they can free the Collector. Who established a connection to him thanks to the Titan Trappers in Edge of the World, enabling King to see a sympathetic side to the Collector during O Titan, Where Art Thou, Clouds on the Horizon, and King’s Tide itself that contributes to his decision to free him and thus defeat Belos. All while King is initially protected by the spell passed down from his father, that he began to wear in Echoes of the Past! And while not related to Belos, his roar from Knock, Knock, Knockin’ on Hooty’s Door comes into play at the end...
I just love it... The way specific adventures and stories have developed and established key points in these characters’ arcs, in the growth of their abilities; How it all culminates and ties together so beautifully! How the kids and their abilities don’t feel interchangeable, that they each have something invaluable to contribute to the team, and it really has to be THIS person for THIS part; Even as they combine in specific ways to establish key phases of the battle!
It really does feel like everything matters and has built up to this great battle against the Emperor, all of the storylines that hone these kids’ magic, the victories and things they gain and earn, from glyphs to palismen to magical artifacts. The synergy they develop by working to overcome their issues, instrumental for teamwork... Both character development and plot come together so beautifully here for this fight scene; With the plot and magical abilities a reflection of the growth of these kids!

I’m new here and seeing a lot of your princess Luz AU, but idk what it’s about really or what’s going on. Is there a master post somewhere?
oh hi!!
i don't have a tumblr master post but i do have an ao3 series, four complete fics so far (56k words total). i'm talking about that universe. keep in mind that the fics are horror-based and much more serious than a lot of the shitposts here.
but this is a good time to put all the important bits of AU canon in one place! so consider this a quick exposition masterpost.
the premise:
luz wandered into the isles when she was four or five years old. she was subsequently caught and taken to belos, who decided to raise her as his heir bc, yknow. god must have brought this human to him. eyeroll emoji
a variety of horrific events unfold, which eventually lead to luz killing belos & taking the throne herself when she's nearly 17. with the intention of eventually dismantling the empire. all of this is pretty awful and traumatic for her, it's.... not a fun time. i CAN write a summary of the horrors if you want but it would have to be a whole separate post
other characters' roles:
hunter - hunter has the biggest role storywise besides luz and belos themselves. he's the captain of luz's guard and has been tasked with protecting her by belos. his relationship with belos is dark in ways that luz does not know about for a long time; he's intensely neurotic about keeping her from knowing anything. also he and luz are like Holy Shit codependent and it is Messyyy.
amity - amity is the youngest member of the emperor's coven and being mentored by lilith with the expectation that eventually she'll lead the coven herself. she and hunter have an intense, vicious, and occasionally violent rivalry (based in various jealousy issues & them both being neurotic). amity is very afraid of catching luz's attention bc of the power imbalance between them. but she also knows that luz killed belos.
lilith - largely unchanged from early canon lilith. she's the head of the emperor's -- now empress's -- coven, and intends to ask luz for help with healing eda's curse.
raine - raine is luz's music teacher, the head of the bard coven, and a secret rebel. they care Very Very Very Much about luz. after trespassing in her mind (fic #4 on ao3), they have a much better understanding of why luz has become so much more closed-off and cold and anxious. they've taken on a kind of protective parental role for luz that parallels eda's in canon.
darius - darius is also his secret rebel self, canon backstory intact. he has however gotten along with hunter for much longer in this AU than in the canon, for reasons such as: hunter is less focused on being a cop, hunter so transparently cares about luz that it's hard Not to care about him, n hunter is A Mess. so darius is constantly worried for hunter's wellbeing. similarly he's mentoring amity as a fuck-you to alador, he's pretty much the only adult she trusts besides lilith.
other characters - there are other characters that have yet to show up in any of the ao3 fics. willow as terra snapdragon's apprentice; gus as a wild witch who's still managed to make adrian hate him; vee having escaped to the human world and quickly blown her cover by turning into a toddler-aged luz; camila, after meeting vee and finding out the truth, trying to get to the isles to find the daughter who vanished well over a decade ago. these are all concepts that deserve their own stories, i just haven't written 'em yet.

I've been thinking about them alot and I wanna explain some things.
Luz: Luz is dating amity, and is friends with willow, Gus, and hunter. (To be more specific, her relationship with hunter is one akin to siblinghood). She hates matt bc she loves Gus. She doesn't want matt to hurt him and sense they got off on the wrong foot, she hates his guts.
Amity: Amity is dating Luz. Luz has a lot of friends, so by association she's friends with Luz's friends, but she's not very close to them. Her and Gus get along, willow and her are recovering their friendship. Amity has been friends with Matt since before she met Luz, so they're really close. (Wlw and mlm friendship). She doesn't like hunter. They got off on the wrong foot and even though Hunter has changed, she can't get past that.
Hunter: Hunter is friends with Luz, Gus, and Willow. (I AM ANTI HUNTLOW!!!! I AM A HUNTLOW DENIER!!!! Hunter has a sibling type relationship with both Luz and Gus.) Hunter does not like Amity. They got off on the wrong foot, he doesn't trust her bc she doesn't trust him, and sense they're both close to Luz this is also a reason why they dislike each other so much. Hunter also hates Matt. Hunter is very close and very protective over Gus, and he hates Matt's Gus. He feels like Matt isn't good enough for Gus.
Matt: Matt is friends with Amity. Matt doesn't know willow very well, so he doesn't have much of an opinion on her. Matt doesn't have much of an opinion on Luz either, but Luz makes her distaste for mattholomule very clear, and he's annoyed by that. Matt hates hunter. He finds hunter to be very foolish and stupid. He doesn't take hunter seriously. He has no problem with the fact that hunter hates him back. Matt is dating Gus.
Gus: Gus is dating Matt. Gus has a sibling like relationship with Hunter. Gus doesn't know Amity very well, but they're friendly towards each other. He admires her and sometimes is jealous is her grades. Gus' best friend is willow.
Willow: Willow is chill with everyone. She's friends with hunter, Gus, Luz, and Amity. She doesn't know Matt at all besides what Gus has said. She has no emotions towards matt.
Of course they're all in the same friend group and are civil for the most part I just wanted to highlight the inter working relationships of the group.

The Jasper & Willow Murder Adventure Episode got me d'awwwing over their relationship. Jasper letting her have agency but also protecting her innocence! Jasper teaching her plant magic tricks! Willow latching onto him as an Available Paternal Figure! It gives another dimension to Willow sadly trying to chide Hunter when he yells at Jasper about the portal door.
And like, I'm sure Jasper would love all the kids. Might take Amity a bit to warm up to him, but once she does it's abomination chatter for days. He'd be super impressed with Gus's prodigy-level illusion magic.
But Willow probably has a special place in his heart because she grows him the most TASTELESS fruits and vegetables. Everyone else is snacking on delicious sugary watermelon and he's like, I'll pass, and then she's like wait I grew this one for you! And it's lovely and crisp and has zero flavor to it. She's the best.
He's also her FUTURE FATHER IN LAWWWWWW. You know Willow is so delighted by that. Jasper already earned a place as an extra paternal figure. He saved her from killing that guy and wrecking her innocence but also gave her the agency to save herself from making a decision she would regret. And when she was crying about her dads and like- they think I'm dead! They must think I'm dead! And he's going to tell her like even if there's a 99.999 percent chance she's dead they're her parents and they love her and they won't ever give up on her as long as there's that 00.001 percent chance, theyre still waiting for her and still hoping she's okay and she's like wahhhhhhhhh.
I also feel like- as I've said I'm headcanoning no marriage in the boiling isles. But Hunter lives in the human realm with his mom! And I think he's like. He really wants to do it because he knows his mom will love it. Also him and his friends all went to Luz's wedding and thought it was fun. So they get married and I'm sure it's a little different than Marriage Classic (why does only one of us get to get given away by a parent? I wanna walk down the aisle too wtf) so like. Imagine jasper getting to walk his boy down the aisle lmfao.
And then like. Jasper officially willows father in law. He's going to slam dunk her through a basketball hoop. He's got TWO kids now holy SHIT

THE OWL HOUSE SEASON 2 HAS CAPTIVATED ME, so here are my reactions/thoughts to episodes 18 and 19
Episode 18: FINALLY MORE GUS TALK!!!! We get so much information about all the other characters I WAS BEGINNING TO THINK MY GUY GUS WAS BEING NEGLECTED!!
His power is so cool, I need more people to be as excited about illusionist magic as me and Gus are! HE LITERALLY CHANGED THE WHOLE SCHOOL AND TRICKED THE HEAD OF ILLUSIONIST COVEN!
Speaking of, the head of the Illusionist Coven being just some wanna be director is fucking hilarious, he is a snob and I hate him with a passion but I want to laugh at him, so much
Gus literally saving all the students at the school too is being SEVERELY looked over right now, like DUDE HE LITERALLY SAVED ALL OF YOU!!!!
All the guards this episode had me in stiches!!! I WANT MORE GUARDS BEING FUNNY IDIOTS!! ESPECIALLY SEVERINE, god, someone get Severine some therapy, like SLAYYY GO BACK TO THE TINY CAT COVEN! GET SOME SELF ESTEEM BACK!
Obviously, i cannot talk about this episode WITHOUT talking about our boy, Hunter.... who was living in the school stage. Listen, I won't judge the guy, he is homeless, his whole life has been thrown upside down, I feel for the guy it was just a surprise! (/lh) ANYWAY, I LOVED THE GUS AND HUNTER FRIENDSHIP GROWTH! From the sharing of the breathing thing (TWICE!!!) and the comforting each other AMAZING
Amity and Willow learning how to be friends again was also an amazing plot line, I love to see how their friendship will expand
Episode 19: THE WEIRD DREAM THING??? AND KING BEING CONNECTED TO THE COLLECTOR?!? Listen, I still don't fully understand who the collector is BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THEY HAVE APPEARED IN ONE OF THE GANG'S DREAMS! Yeah, I haven't forgot about it being in Eda's dream too! I am very confused, it seems lonely, but evil, but also just a chaotic vibe, I am conflicted
POOR KING! He literally just found out traumatising news and THEN people keep treating him differently now?? I spent the whole start of the episode wanting to just hold King and keep him safe from everyone, HE IS JUST A LITTLE GUY!!! HE IS JUST A BABY!!!
BUT! Steve to save the day. I am now a Steve Stan. I am a Steve fangirl. If Steve has 1 fan, its me, if Steve has 0 fans, I am dead. BRING BACK STEVE!!!! I adore Steve, with every essence of my being, HE WAS ACTING LIKE KING WAS FAMILY AND- AHHH, best friends your honour, they are best friends
FUCKKK The Eda and Raine and Luz angst was a plotline I was NOT ready for after the absolute fluff that was King and Steve helping people and vibing. SOMEONE GET MY PAL RAINE OUT OF THERE!!! Plant coven girl is literally obsessed with them, tf
Eda just wanting to save the kids, to protect Luz and King- I will admit, it hit me in my feels, Eda still treating King as a kid (AS HE SHOULD BE) and Luz and wanting them both away from danger AHHHHHHH
Luz bestie, I love you, but PLEASE EDA WAS RIGHT
HOWEVER HARPY EDA CAMEO!!! RAHHHHHH, I am still obsessed with it, we need more of Harpy Eda in this show.
AND FINALLY, THE ALLIES!!!! GOD. I am obsessed DARIUS I KNEW I COULD TRUST YOU!!! I don't know if I posted, but I REALLY liked Darius but knew (well, thought) he was evil, BUT NO I CAN NOW FINALLY LOVE HIM! AND EBERWOLF! Didn't forget him (did just have to search his name tho)
OH AND! The Palisman!!! I was going to mention this as I hadn't been mentioned in a while, BUT CARING FAMILY BONDING BETWEEN EDA, LUZ AND KING!!! I fucking love found family. Can you tell!!#
IN OTHER EXCITING NEWS! I am about to watch the season 2 finale episodes! No idea what to expect, but I am literally addicted so will take anything, i am sad I am so close to finishing it though, as Season 3 has less episodes
BUT it means I can finally interact with the fandom, etc etc
Thank you to all following my journey watching the series for the first time

Post Thanks to Them conversation about the possession and Grimwalker thing, this has been in my head ever since the episode istg.
(A little additional thing, this line that I just thought of: "We could have lost you.... I could have lost you!" (I swear I'm normal about this ship))
Ooo this will be an angsty one!
"Guys, Hunter isn't moving!"
"Call the doctor!"
"Do the human doctors know about possession?" The tears started to form.
"Or grimwalkers?"
"Grimwalkers?" What did she mean? Was he a- stop.
It didn't matter. What did matter was that Hunter was in her arms. Hunter was cold. Hunter wasn't moving. Hunter was dea-
"No!"  Willow shot upright, sweat dripped down her forehead and everything was blurry. She reached around for her glasses and was more than grateful to feel them. She placed them on he face and looked around.
They were back in the demon realm of course. Thy had been back for a few days and after traveling each one, looking for signs of life, signs of something familiar. They decided to make a camp and a plan. Hunter had been having... a few nightmares himself. which she could understand. After being. Possessed. That was something that left more than a physical scar.
She could feel her own internal fear and sorrow weighing on her, but she knew she had to be strong. For them. It wasn't time to play around anymore. She... she shouldn't have ever let it come to that. They should have kept trying, kept looking for a way back. That way they would have never had to deal with him again. Hunter would have never been hurt. He would have never lost Flapjack... She knew it wasn't, not really. But she just felt like maybe it did have something to do with her. Maybe it WAS her fault.
The ground began to shake a little.
No no no no, calm down Willow. Breathe in. 1. 2. 3. 4. Breathe out. 1. 2. 3. 4..
Being home, in their natural realm, Willow had felt a lot more in tune with the plants around her. And that they were more in with her. Way more than before. Maybe it was because she was away for so long and wasn't used to it? or maybe it was because her emotions were running so high? Most magic didn't work that way though, it was connected by spells and the mind, but somehow hers was linked to her emotions. And if she was gonna protect them all, she needed to get that under control. She'd have to numb herself somehow. She had done it before. she could do it again.
But the plants didn't stop. She could almost hear their subtle cries. They tried desperately to tell her something but she didn't know what. And that scared her. Maybe she needed to check on the others? Every night it was the same thing over and over again. She'd wake up from that same hellish nightmare, hear the plants anxiousness, get up and check on the others, and everyone would be fine.
She looked beside her, the illusionist lay curled up beside her, luckily he slept soundly enough once he was out. She supposed Amity did too. but she never saw her face? Maybe she was awake. But didn't want to bother her... or maybe she didn't care?
No. stop that Willow. It's not about you.
She stood up and stepped over the sleeping Gus, exiting their makeshift tent. With no real supplies around except for the giant trees and plants, Willow and Amity had constructed two tents. Willow, Gus, and Amity shared one. Hunter, Camila, and Luz shared the other. Camila seemed to be the only one to calm Hunter down their first night here. When he had woke up in a fit o rage, ready to literally murder Belos. She remembered having to manhandle him while Camila convinced him he was ok. That Belos wasn't around, they had to find and stop him first. The mother had cupped his angry face and spoke softly, telling him, everything would be ok baby. She promised.
Hunter seemed to snap out of it. Crumbling to the ground in tears. Willow wanted to stick around, comfort him. But she was so angry. She wanted revenge just as bad, if not, even more! This was someone she cared sooooo much about. And for that- that monster to do that to him? To treat him as though he was worth nothing. That he was nothing. No worth to anyone. To hurt his best buddy through Hunters body?? She had to run. She remembered practically wrecking a section of the forest in anger. Slumping to the ground in her own tears. Alone. But that was ok. Hunter was ok. Hurt in so many freaking ways! ... but he was alive... and that's all that really mattered to her.
The two hadn't really talked at all since then.
She sighed and looked up at the sky. If she had a mirror, she knew her eyebags would be showings right now. Kind of like Hunter's when she had me him. That boy seriously didn't get enough sleep back in his golden guard days. And he was so oblivious to think six o'clock was sleeping in. She chuckled a bit at the memory.
Was it wrong that she wanted to go back to that? If it meant Hunter would at least still be... happy?
Was he ever really happy?
They had talked a lot, yeah. From their meeting the day she started their flyer derby team. He seemed happy? He seemed thrilled for them to be able to join the 'best coven there was'. And then somehow, for some reason she still didn't know. He changed his mind. He protected them. And then she received a buddy request from him. Titan he was such a slow typer too. Somehow she had found that weirdly cute. She figured he hadn't had any type of social media- or experience with witches his age. But he tried, had sooo desperately tried to get her to like him. To be his friend. She missed... getting those photos. She was sure anyone that knew Hunter would've known how much he loved that bird. But she felt prideful knowing she was the first one he had shared that love with. And now... now she didn't know how to feel.
She had never seen a palisman give their life to a witch before. Well. Grim...walker?
Did he know he was... a grimwalker? She hadn't heard much about them. She just knew that they went extinct a long time ago. That they were clones. Now that she thought about it, Belos had called him Caleb. That was the same name he used to disguise himself when they met. Caleb Jasper BloodWilliams. Maybe he had always known.
How... does someone live knowing they're a clone? She didn't care what he was. But she figured that must have been hard on him. Titan... his whole life had been so hard. Why?
"Why do you keep doing this to him?!" She shook her fist at the sky. She didn't know when she had started crying but she could feel the warmth of the tears against her fingers as she rubbed her eyes. "Why?" She cried silently now.
"Willow?"
Her heart dropped. No. She didn't want anyone to see her like this. She quickly tried to wipe her face dry, "Yeah?" her voice broke. Dang it.
"I- are you? No she isn't ok, why ask that." He muttered to himself. "Do you...wanna talk about it?"
"What? No! I'm OK!" She laughed forcefully. "What about you? How did you manage to get past Camila and Luz? Surely they... well. I just haven't seen you out here..."
"Because you haven't been sleeping but for maybe two to three hours a night." He stated as a fact more than a question.
"N-no?"
Hunter walked around her and pulled her hands from her face down.
She shook her head and tried to pull away, knowing the tears were starting to fall. "I'm sorry I-"
"No." He held one hand up. Using his other to continue to grip hers, "I'm sorry.
"No! That's not why."
"Is it because I lied to you?" He asked softly, sorrow and guilt clouded his eyes but he held her gaze.
She shook her head. "Hunter, no. I'm not mad at you. I. I was just-" why not just come out with it. He had already caught her crying, and she needed her head in the game instead of being distracted. She needed to get this off her chest. "I was so scared- I-"
Hunter's eyes widened and he released her hand like it was a burning hot coal. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I promise I really thought Belos was here-"
"No!" She grabbed his hands and pulled him back. "Not of you! I could-" she hiccupped. "I could never think you would want to harm any of us. It's just-" she hiccupped again. "We could have lost you... I could have lost you!" She snapped. "You were so cold, you weren't moving! You were- i thought you were dead! You were dead! I would've lost if- if Flap..."
And then he pulled her into a hug.
That was her braking point.
She hugged him back like every ounce of her being needed to feel him against her. Her fingers curled into his shirt as she gripped the soft material and sobbed violently. Her glasses hurt from her face being pressed so hard against his chest but she didn't care. She just cried until her throat hurt, and soon it turned into soft whimpers and subtle shudders of breath.
He let her cries die down before softly gripping the sides of her head and pressing her ear against his chest. "See, it's beating... It's not a heart like yours but it works the same way. Its called a galderstone... I'm sure you've heard about those. But... I'm alive." He said softly.
She nodded and listened to the soft thuds, a soft sigh and hiccup escaped her mouth.
He used one of his hands to hold her close and used the other to rub circles on her back. In attempt to comfort and calm her down. "Do you feel that? I'm moving. And... well. since it is a bit chilly out here, I can only hope I feel warm enough for you." He muttered softly.
She let out a small laugh and nodded, releasing her grip on him just a little bit at the confirmation. Somehow, even after all the crap he had went through, he was comforting her.
So she pulled away. "I'm sorry. I- I shouldn't have. You're the one... that has been through all of- I'm so sorry."
He frowned at loss of her in his arms. She felt nice there. He hugged her again.
"What are you-"
"Shh. This is for me."
"Oh... Ok." Willow seemed to like that answer and hugged him back.
Hunter let out a long sigh and maneuvered them to the ground, only letting her go long enough that they needed before pulling her back into a hug. Willow pulled one arm away and cast a quick spell. A large leaf formed behind them and Hunter gratefully leaned back into it, taking Willow with him.
"You haven't been sleeping."
"Neither have you."
"That's not true." Hunter replied curtly. "I have been getting more sleep then you at least." He muttered when she raised a brow at him.
"Well... I think I'll sleep a little better now. I know you're alive... even better now." She tried.
"Sorry for worrying you, Captain."
"I forgive you. It... wasn't your fault. You fought back, you did everything you could... It was him." she seethed.
Hunter gulped at the coldness in her eyes at the reference of Belos. If he didn't get to Belos and finish him first, the captain would no doubt rip him apart. "That's... not entirely true. I knew what Belos was doing. He was... I knew I would die if I fought him back. Don't ask me how... but I knew. I was the perfect vessel for him. I couldn't let him hurt ya'll through me. Not another one."
"You were incredibly strong for that."
"I guess. But I am also made out of some pretty sturdy stuff, so. That helped."
"Did... did you always know... that you were-"
"No. I.. found out after me and Luz were in Belos mindscape. That's... that's how she knew."
She nodded her head.
"Do you think I'm... uhm. Do you think any-"
"No. I don't care what you are. We're all made different. Me, Luz, King, Hooty... It doesn't matter to me."
"But I'm a clone."
"So am I."
"What?!" Hunter almost pulled back at the utter shock he felt, letting confusion roam his mind as she started giggling.
"Well.. not exactly but I'm made by my parents DNA so... we kind of all are in a sense." She finished softly.
"Oh... I didn't think about it like that I guess."
Willow let out a yawn and nodded, tired from crying so much and content with her answers, snuggling closer to the boy. She then cast another spell and a large leaf covered their bodies as she leaned into him. "Stay here with me... please?"
Hunter nodded and pulled her closer, letting his head rest on hers after removing her glasses and setting them next to him. He was definitely not as wild of a sleeper as her. They'd be safer on his side.
"When all of this is over... I would like to hang out with you more. Just... the two of us though."
Hunter felt his galderstone pick up pace a little at that. Was she? Did she mean?
He looked down to see the girl already sound asleep. The barest hint of a smile played on her lips before her mouth slightly opened and the snoring began. He smiled at the sight and thought of what future he might be lucky enough to have with her. He didn't know how or why, but the fluttering in his chest seemed to tell him brighter days were ahead. He had hope.
And even though he had lost Flapjack physically, he knew and heard and felt the bird inside him. He wasn't alone. He'd never be alone again. And he would never let Belos hurt anyone again.
The blonde soon fell into a deep sleep next to the girl beside him, holding her close to him as she moved around in her sleep. The two slept better that night than they had in days. They didn't realize just how bad they would need it for the days to come.

Beautiful
I know that this ask was from the “send me a word and if it’s in my wip I’ll post the sentence it’s in” prompt and I didn’t have a sentence with this word in it but seeing this actually inspired a short little fic so Imma just post it here in response lol. I used google translate for the spanish pls no one hate me i lost my Duolingo streak
---
“After this can we go over conjugation again?” Hunter asked as he flipped to an empty page in his notebook.
“Sure,” said Luz. “But you don’t have to take so many notes ya know, there’s not gonna be a test or anything.”
“I know that’s technically true, but something about the look in the eyes of that little owl in the box makes the stakes feel higher.” said Gus with a shudder.
“We have a streak to protect,” added Willow with determination, furiously sharpening her pencil to take notes of her own.
“All right, let’s try translating some basic sentences,” said Luz, writing a new one on the board.
La flor es muy hermosa
“Oh oh oh! I know this one!” announced Amity, eagerly raising her hand.
“I know you do batata, but let’s let someone else try,” said Luz with a wink. “Whatcha got, Gus?”
“I’m not entiiiirely sure what it says, but I’ve gotten really good at rolling my r’s,” said Gus. “Herrrrmosa. See?”
“That is pretty impressive,” marveled Luz. “What about you, Hunter?”
“Well, I know that ‘la’ is a definite article for nouns,” he began, breaking down the sentence piece by piece as he often did. “And ‘muy’ is a common adverb that means ‘very’ or sometimes ‘highly’ so it’s saying ‘something’ is ‘something,’ right?”
“You’re on the right track!” Luz encouraged. “I snuck in two new vocab words to test your ability to use context clues.”
“Boo! You said there were no tests!” said Willow with thumbs down. Hunter contined to stare at the board as if it was one of life’s greatest mysteries.
“Hmmm, ‘la flor es muy hermosa.’ read Hunter aloud. “Can you give me a hint?”
“Hmmm... it’s something in this room,” said Luz, looking towards the corner where Willow’s latest collection of chrysanthemums sat in a pot basking in the sunlight.
“Uh... beanbag?”
“No, uh... oh!’“ said Luz, snapping her fingers with inspiration. “It’s a word you would associate with Willow.”
“Oh, beautiful.” said Hunter as though it couldn’t be more obvious, writing it down with confidence in his notebook.
“Um...” said Luz, taking delight in the smile Willow was obviously trying to suppress as she snuck a glance at the boy beside her. “That’s technically correct. So we’re almost there, ‘flor’ is another word we could associate with Willow.”
“Strong? Brave?” tried Hunter, tapping his chin with his pen. “But... no, ‘la’ signifies the following word would be a noun... is it captain? ‘The captain is very beautiful?’ Or would that be capitalized?”
“Hunter, do you want me to-.”
“No, no I don’t need another hint, I can figure it out,” he insisted. “Beautiful like Willow... what’s beautiful like Willow...?”
“Luz you’re gonna break him,” said Gus playfully as Hunter attempted to do the impossible.
“Oh! The flower is very beautiful!” said Hunter triumphantly.
“Perfecto, mi amigo!” sang Luz. “Is, uh, that what you got too, Willow?”
“Well, I’m more of a visual learner.” smiled Willow, turning her notebook around to share a detailed drawing of a beautiful flower.
“Wow, that is beautiful Captain!” Hunter praised, Willow had truly brought the sentence the life.
“Yeah,” agreed Luz with a grin. “Does that mean you’re gonna draw a picture of Willow in your notebook Hunter?” She teasingly asked the boy who was suddenly made aware of his own words and turned a bright crimson.
“W-what? Why? I-I don’t do that!’ he sputtered, covering the bottom of the his notebook page for some totally unrelated reason.
“Oh! Oh! Teacher, teacher!” said Gus, frantically raising his hand. “How do you say ‘busted’ in Spanish? And please tell me there’s an r in it.”
“Arrestado,” Luz replied.
“Arrrrrestado dude,” said Gus with a smirk to Hunter, who groaned lightly as the rest of the group laughed.
“Okay, okay, there will be plenty of time to tease Hunter after class,” said Luz. “Let’s translate some more adjectives while we’re on a roll. What are other words similar to ‘beautiful?’“
“Oh oh! ‘Amazing!” sang Amity, ready to shine. “Its ‘Increíble’ as in ‘mi novia increíble.”
“Aw! Gracias, batata.” Luz blushed.
“Not impressive, we all know that's like the first thing you learned,” scoffed Gus. “What about ‘totally awesome?’”
“Totalmente asombroso.”
“Gus es totalmente asombroso,” said the boy. “I think we should all work on making this a permanent part of our vocabulary.”
 “What about ‘handsome?’” asked Willow.
“Well, you could use guapo.”
“And then muy guapo would be very handsome, right?”
“Correcta!”
“Cool,” said Willow as she added the new phrase to her notebook, her eyes wandering over to Hunter who still stared at his notebook with a face that reminded Willow how she had learned the word rojo. “Muy guapo.”
As Luz moved on, Hunter couldn’t help but feel Willow’s gaze on him and turned his attention away from his vocab to return her dreamy look with inquisitive eyes. “Why are you looking at me?” whispered Hunter, bringing his hand to his cheek worried there was another reason to be embarrassed. “Is there something on my face?”
“Nah, I’m just a visual leaner,” said Willow with a shrug, committing the word to memory for future use.

**Toh ending spoilers**
So if season 3 hadn’t been cut I’m pretty sure we would’ve had an all out Amity VS Luz fight in the finale
Like, this is just a theory. But not only is the setup absolutely there- both with the collecter possessing people under Belos’s instructions or Belos himself possessing ppl- but it makes for a fantastic parallel.
One of their first interactions is the witches duel! A full blown finale fight would be an incredible parallel to show how far they’ve come and grown as witches. Plus it plays on some of their biggest fears- hurting the ppl she loves for Luz and for Amity- who’s main thing is about working on becoming a better person- would be a devastating regression
Also just like. Big emotional scene where mind controlled Amity is saying mean things, and Luz agrees, and Amity has to snap herself out to convince Luz that no those hurtful things weren’t true and I’m so sorry and then they comfort each other and have a nice romantic moment
Like In the actual episode Amity is the one to comfort Luz and tell her about the light glyph being what wakes people up. (Which btw is a connection I love so much how the light glyph was the first she learned and it’s her name and it’s what keeps saving ppl Luz keeps saving people even when she thinks badly of herself she is good and kind and no matter what she thinks she can’t erase that or the good she’s done)
the actual interaction in the nightmare world are kinda short bc the mouse screwed them over and also bc Luz can’t properly finish her arc until she talks to Papa Titian for finale reasons but like
Imagine Luz in the nightmare realm as her freinds yell at her. And she believes them! Ofc she believes them!! She’s been wallowing in guilt for months of course she believes it
Amity gets the quote right. They fight.
Its big and flashy and scary. Luz is so distraught she’s not really properly putting up a fight and Stringbean has to kinda pick up the slack so she doesn’t really get hurt. The others are probably joining in as backup for Amity, throwing in mean things that Luz just keeps agreeing with
(There’s moments when Amity, misses an easy shot or takes a second too long to react, but that’s all the rebellion she can muster. For now)
Mid fight, while saying or agreeing with something mean about herself, Luz casts a light spell
Amity does not wake up
Willow does
And Willow says she’s wrong. Willow starts defending Luz from the others, rebuking all the self deprecating claims Luz makes. As she goes Willow manages to wake up Gus, then Amity, then Hunter
The four of them fight together to protect Luz from whatever monsters manifest from the nightmare, and also from her own self deprecation
Like I feel like it would be so beautiful. Luz’s whole life all she’s wanted is to be understood. She struggled so hard to make freinds, and she loves these ones so much and she’s so afraid that she hurt them. But instead they turn around and say no you didn’t and we love you and fight for her because after so so long of being alone Luz finally has a family, brothers and sisters and a girlfriend who love her.
She would have the support she needed to finally believe them and stop listening to her own fears. The support to finally believe in and choose herself
Now obviously changing this stuff would wreak havoc on the actual script and mess with a lot of what they’d be capable of doing in their limited time. Plus screw up some really really incredible moments like everything with the collector and Luz actually choosing herself. I do think you could make it all work with more time but obviously that’s the one thing the incredible writing team didn’t have.
Anyway I am writing a fic. but it’s very much a WIP. Collage is killing me. So expect it whenever I rise from the dead in the fanfic writer equivalent of Titian form

Gwen and Dell are complicated. Dell wasn’t really there for his kids due to his job, Gwen ignored Lily because she thought Lily was capable of taking care of herself. She got trapped in the mold of being the Responsible Older Sister which was a major mistake and it only got worse when Eda got cursed. And Gwen doesn’t realize that Eda needs her to stop doting on her despite Eda being very clear that she’s a 40-year-old woman which is kind of exactly what it’s like to be the youngest kid but your parents still see you as a baby.
Gwen and Dell messed up. But they’re just people and their love for Eda and Lily was never in question, even if Lily felt it was. Part of that also stems from the fact that Lily failed to communicate and caused everything to get worse because she didn’t let anyone know how she felt. She just kept everything inside and expected them to notice her. When Lily tells Gwen how she feels, Gwen is upset and promises to be a better mom and THEN DOES IT! And Eda literally ran away at 16 instead of facing her dad or feeling like a burden on her family. Her conflict with Dell was entirely one-sided because he always loved her but she refused to see him because she thought she had done something unforgivable. But when she does let him in, he reaffirms he has always loved her. And Gwen has always loved her and is taking steps to recognize that Eda is a full ass adult with her own agency.
There’s something about how Eda fixed Dell’s tower and built a house around it. She wasn’t ready to face him. She still loved him and she wanted to communicate but she was scared of what that meant. Luz is awesome and wonderful and helps break that barrier down for them to talk to Gwen and eventually Dell. Eda opens herself up to be vulnerable and accept that she has to have hard conversations and recognizes that the reason why she lost everything in the first place was due to a failure to communicate. I don’t think she regrets running away but I do think she probably wishes she had seen her dad sooner because that was over 30 years of her not knowing how he felt and Dell tried his best to give her space while still hoping that she’d eventually forgive herself. And she does.
Something something Camila and Luz have a similar problem as does Belos but Belos’s failure to communicate and understand the feelings/needs of his loved ones ultimately causes him to go feral trying to justify his feelings and worldview rather than accepting sometimes you have to let people do what they’re gonna do even if you don’t like it. And Camila, for all her flaws, understands that Luz needs to be her own person and make her own choices because despite Camila wanting to protect her, Luz needs to be herself. Odalia can’t accept that Amity is her own person and doesn’t want what Odalia thinks is best for her. Willow and Gus have similar struggles with their parents but ultimately Perry and the Parks are willing to let their kids grow and be themselves and they’re not evil for wanting the best for their kids even if it doesn’t fit what Willow and Gus needed. Yeah.
