guess who went to the zoo today i went to the zoo today so this is the premise of my zookeeper au in ficlet form

Obi-Wan Kenobi is leaning against the post of the goat pin, watching him.
Anakin doesn’t quite know what to do about that, and he decides to table the issue until he has a moment to shoo the man away.
What he can’t figure out is why Obi-Wan Kenobi is here. They’ve never talked. Until this very moment, he hadn’t realized Obi-Wan Kenobi even knew who he was, but when he turns his head slightly to the side to peek over at him, it’s definitely him that he’s looking at.
Of course he knows who Obi-Wan Kenobi is though. He’s one of the best zookeepers in the Coruscant Zoo—and probably the most recognizable. After all, he’s the head of the team that works with the big cats, and everyone comes to the zoo to see the lions and tigers be fed and sleep. And whatever else the lions and tigers do.
It probably helps that the guy feeding them and playing with them is undeniably also probably handsomest man in all of Coruscant.
Maybe not, Anakin doesn’t know.
What Anakin does know is that it’s very hard to look in Obi-Wan’s direction without imagining beard burn on his thighs, a fact of life that’s thus far not mattered much.
But now he’s surrounded by little children, exhausted moms, and goats, sheep, rabbits, and ponies. Arousal is not one of the feelings he should be having at this moment.
He throws the fresh hay down by the stable and wipes the sweat off his forehead. He needs to get Obi-Wan Kenobi to leave because he probably has—like, an actual job to do. He’s wearing his zookeeping jumpsuit, which means he probably should be on the other side of the zoo, prodding sleeping lions or petting tigers.
He’s probably scaring the bunnies, smelling all like big cat and predator and sandalwood cologne with just a hint of spice—
Look, it’s normal that Anakin knows what Obi-Wan Kenobi smells like. They’ve passed each other in the hall before, at work events. He’s pretty sure Obi-Wan Kenobi has come out of the bathroom right before Anakin went in a few times too, so it’s not like it’s abnormal to know how the guy smells.
And the most important thing is he can’t be smelling like that around Anakin’s babies, because they’re probably terrified and they have to put up with enough with all the snot-nosed brats that come in and try to pull their tails or ears.
On his way over to Obi-Wan Kenobi, he sees a little girl in a princess dress doing just that with Cinny-Minny Bun Bun, which is a crime too grievous to go unpunished, so he redirects his body immediately to snatch the poor bunny away from the girl’s grubby little fingers. “You’ll hurt her doing that,” Anakin chides in a perfectly polite sort of voice, cuddling the bunny to his chest. Cinny is quivering. “What if someone came up and pulled on your ears? How would you like that?”
The little girl looks at him for two seconds before promptly bursting into tears. Internally, Anakin rolls his eyes. Kids cry about everything, but they especially don’t like being told that they can’t torture small animals.
Psychopaths, all of them.
He keeps Cinny against his chest as he turns away from the kid and finishes his trek over to Obi-Wan, who is giving him a very unimpressed raised eyebrow.
“You can’t be here, you’re scaring the animals with your—big cat scent,” he says once they’re face to face, separated by the posts of the fence around the petting zoo.
“You’re scaring the children,” Obi-Wan Kenobi points out, which may be the first words he’s ever said to him directly.
Anakin scowls and adjusts his hold on Cinny-Minny. “Children are the worst.”
Now Obi-Wan is smiling slightly, which is a really good look for him. “Your job hinges upon being able to work with animals and children, and—and, Mr. Skywalker, that was a very disappointing display I just witnessed. I understand thata you’re still grieving the unexpected loss of your wife, but you have to keep your personal life from affecting your work, or we’ll be forced to terminate your contract with Coruscant Zoo. I’ll be making a note of this incident in your file for your performance review at the end of the month.”
This is all said very sternly and with a self-assured yet disapproving tone.
But Anakin thinks he’d probably notice if he had a wife and also if she died tragically. He blinks at Obi-Wan and wonders if the man is having a stroke. He’s also pretty sure Obi-Wan can’t actually fire him.
He could probably sic the big cats on him though, which is less than optimal.
“Uh,” Anakin settles on saying.
Obi-Wan’s eyes dart away from his face and then back to him before he breaks out into a grin. “Sorry, the mother of the child you traumatized was coming over looking rather unhappy. I thought if I told you off for your outlandish and boarish behavior, she wouldn’t feel the need to. And she’s turned back now, so. You’re welcome.”
Anakin blinks. “Me and my dead wife thank you,” he finally says. “You need to go though. They can probably smell Split Pea all over you.”
“I don’t actually roll around with the lion as much as you may think I do,” Obi-Wan says, and both of his eyebrows are raised.
“Oh, of course. That’s just the tigers.”
“Chowder and Gumbo enjoy my company, but for the most part I do stay out of all of my enclosures. They’re big cats, not exactly petting zoo material.”
“Which is why you need to leave,” Anakin says again, in case Obi-Wan didn’t hear that part. “You’re scaring Cinny-Minny.”
“Cinny-Minny.”
“Cinnamon Minerva Bun Bun.”
Now it’s Obi-Wan’s turn to blink. “Ah. Of course.”
“All your animals are named after soups,” Anakin says defensively. “Don’t throw stones.”
Obi-Wan looks amused, which is also a very good look on him, the fucker. “I didn’t say anything,” he points out.
Anakin scowls and clutches Cinny close. He’s ninety percent sure she’s fallen asleep.
“You need to leave,” he reiterates.
“I need you though,” Obi-Wan says, and then looks slightly horrified. “Your hands. No, sorry. I mean—” it’s the first time this entire conversation that Obi-Wan Kenobi has been flustered, and Anakin would be enjoying it a lot more if he could think past all the mental images of what Obi-Wan could use his hands for.
“That,” Obi-Wan finally spits out, looking mortified as he rubs a hand over his face and uses his other one to gesture at—
Anakin blinks down at Cinny. “My bunny?”
Does Obi-Wan think the petting zoo animals are like class pets that the employees can go home with? How did he get such an erroneous conception and also why is Anakin sort of jealous of a rabbit right now?
“Yes,” Obi-Wan says. “Well, no.”
“Thanks for clearing that one up,” Anakin says gamely. “Want to try again?”
Obi-Wan sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose, like Anakin is the one being difficult here. “I…am in need of your expertise.”
“My expertise. In…bunnies?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan snaps. Anakin blinks at him. “I—my friend is out of town for a month, and he asked me to pet sit for him. And I think I’m killing the rabbit.”
This is pretty alarming actually.
“What?”
“It’s not eating anything and it just—sits in its hutch. I haven’t seen it eat any of the food I’ve left out, and it’s like. Shaking?” Obi-Wan crosses his arms. “I’m worried I’ve given it a terrible case of seasonal depression, honestly, but my friend’s daughter will literally never forgive me if I kill her rabbit.”
Anakin thinks he probably agrees with the friend’s daughter, and something like that may flash across his face because it’s Obi-Wan’s turn to scowl.
“I’ve tried everything that works for my cats,” he says. “Nothing. I’m running out of ideas, Anakin.”
This is the first time Obi-Wan’s said his name, and Anakin finds himself half-distracted by how much he enjoys the way it sounds in his voice. But more importantly: “Wait, sorry, did you—did you, what, give the bunny extra bloody meat? Put the food on a stick and wriggle it around to encourage its predator instincts to come out and play?”
Obi-Wan’s silent for a moment too long.
“Oh my god,” Anakin says before bursting into laughter so fierce that he has to shove Cinny into Obi-Wan’s hands just to clutch his own stomach.
Obi-Wan holds the bunny like he’s holding a lit stick of dynamite, and it only makes Anakin laugh harder. This is a man who routinely walks into small spaces already inhabited by clawed and fanged predators and scratches them behind the ears, but the fluffy bunny in his hands looks as if it may break him.
“Alright, thank you,” Obi-Wan says, sounding more than a little put-out and ticked off. “Alright.”
Anakin’s laughter finally peters out, and he takes Cinny Minny back from Obi-Wan before he can give the rabbit PTSD or anything. “Okay,” he hears himself say, which is weird because he hasn’t thought at all about the actual request, unable to think past the mental image of Obi-Wan trying to find a bunny the way he feeds his lions. “Yeah, okay. Do you need just like—advice or. Pet websites? A blog forum?”
“Come over,” Obi-Wan demands. “I learn best through hands-on demonstration.”
Anakin doesn’t say any of the five things that come to mind because they’re all a bit sleazy and he’s better than that. “Okay,” he hears himself say again. “Yeah, okay.”
“Excellent,” Obi-Wan smiles at him before reaching out and using two fingers to gently pet the space between Cinny’s ears.
It’s probably the most attractive thing Anakin’s seen in the last month.
He doesn’t want to think about what that says about him.

I mentioned in a reblog thing that I'd wanted to make a Rise comic series called "ROTTMNT: UNPAUSED" and I hinted to one of the finale episodes being called "Mikey's Birthday Bash"
Well I'm gonna infodump about that now...
So basically the episode started off with Mikey waking everyone up for a special breakfast to celebrate his bday, only to discover that not only did his brothers forget his bday, they all made plans of their own. To quickly make up for it, the guys take him into the Hidden City for a quick shopping spree before they all have to leave for their engagements. While Mikey is looking for something to buy, he overhears his brothers conversing about how in the next year, Raph won't be a TEENAGE mutant ninja turtle anymore (he is 17 currently). Donnie adds that he is already looking for colleges to join and hopes for an early admission. Leo also admits he has been planning for the future. Mikey realizes that his brothers are all planning to leave and grow up, which he is not ready for. He runs away crying, and meets a strange old hag who sells him a "special" birthday candle, which she promises will grant his biggest birthday wish.
Mikey finds his bros again and uses the candle on a meager cupcake they got for him. As soon as he blows the candle out, the four are transported into a version of the Battle Nexus, trapped there along with every other character from the show (and my comics) by the hag who sold Mikey the candle. She reveals that Mikey's wish was for "everyone to spend my birthday together", and the only way for them to escape is for the turtles to win the tournament! The bros are furious at Mikey for making the wish, and Mikey promises to get through the games as quickly as possible so they can get back to their plans and leave.
The hag states that the turtles will be pitted against their previous enemies, and with each round they win they'll will receive more allies. Anyone KO’d will be eliminated from the round and sent to watch in the audience, and upon the ending of the game all contestants will be returned to their last location. The enemies will get progressively more challenging until they defeat all of their opponents.
Round 1, April is with the guys, and they are up against Baxter Stockboy, Albearto, and the Purple Dragons.
Round 2, the Casey Joneses join the fight against the Foot Clan.
Round 3, Draxum, Splinter, Big Mama, and the two missing siblings hinted at by the writers join against the evil league of mutants and the Mud Dogs. April is KO’d after getting slammed into a wall and knocked unconscious by Heinous Green. Cass is KO’d by Hypno after he hypnotizes her to knock herself unconscious as well. Draxum is KO’d by Meat Sweats after he steals his power.
Round 4, Several characters (such as Agent Bishop and Mona Lisa) join to fight against the Triceratons (which were introduced in my series). During this round, everyone is K.O.'d except the turtles. However, Mikey sees that he didn’t finish the battles in time and his brothers have missed their appointments. He feels guilty, and his brothers are admittedly irritated.
Round 5, the final boss battle. They are pitted against the Shredder and the Kraang. Before the fight begins, Mikey has a blowout with his brothers and finally admits that he was angry they were gonna leave because he was scared of growing up, as he is not ready to be an adult yet and he doesn’t want to be alone. The Kraang interrupts stating “I can help you with that” and captures Mikey. However, the Turtles get one last team member… Karai. The Shredder -- having been defeated and Oroku Saki redeemed -- turns against the Kraang and sides with the Turtles and his daughter. The boys defeat the Kraang using the special formula from the movie, but not before the Shredder and Karai are K.O.'D by the Kraang. The Kraang are defeated with the last of the mixture, but to the boys' horror they see that Mikey was kraangified, and now have to fight against him as their last opponent. They try, but are unable to defeat him due to his increased strength AND his ninpo. Leo refuses to admit defeat, saying “Mikey never gave up on me… I can’t give up on him.” He tries one last attack, grappling with Mikey and holding him down...
I happened to make sketches of what came next...
The game finished, everyone is returned home. Mikey apologizes for everything, but Raph admits that he isn’t ready to grow up yet either, and he never wants to leave Mikey alone. He found out the hard way what that felt like, and the brothers agree to wait a little longer to grow up and enjoy being the teenage mutant ninja turtles while they can. Back at the lair, everyone bursts in to make sure Mikey is okay. They spend the rest of the day with him, enjoying his birthday...

lacy woke in the morning as a four-year-old girl. she ran to her parents bedroom, only to find it empty, bed neatly done and no mummy and daddy. confused, she ran down the stairs, her little legs carrying her little body and burst into the living room.
she couldn't believe her eyes - purple and pink balloons hung from the ceiling, birthday banners were spread across the walls and a small pile of presents lay on the side of the room.
she bounced to the kitchen and there stood her parents - daddy was making fresh chocolatey special pancakes and mummy was putting up a massive banner that read HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACY!
'mummy! daddy! i'm a big girl now!' lacy squealed delightedly
'aw, my baby is such a grown-up! happy birthday mi amor' y/n turned around and planted a giant kiss on her little girl's forehead.
she turned to her daddy and jumped up and down. 'yayy, daddy making pancakes! i love you daddy!'
'and what about me?' y/n retorted

Anyways. Hatched one of my eggs, saving the other for my Bday. The hatch was GOOD. But also bad because I am not a fan of those colors for a derg.
So, who wants to swap dusty babies? I have a dusty baby, you've got a dusty baby. Let's trade them.
I'm looking for a natural colored one. Eye color doesn't matter. Just has to be born today (4/17). We're talking a brown, gray, black, and green range for all colors. Not like a triple, but like a matchy XYZ. Like this one, but turn down the color a lot.

We’re so excited to finally announce our prompts for Feyre Week! And again, sorry it’s a bit late but thank you all so much for your patience 💕
We also decided to extend the week to 9 days. This is because we wanted to get as much of Feyre’s story here as possible so we can celebrate it all!!

We met Feyre when she was just a 19 year old human girl fighting for survival. She went out to hunt and provide for her family at the young age of 14 right up until she was taken to Prythian. We wanted to incorporate Feyre’s skill as a human before Prythian and the Night Court. This is a perfect time to highlight her wounded inner child, the neglect suffered from her family and her brutal living conditions, yet through it all, she never once gave up on herself or her family. A true sister right there!!
Day 2: Cursebreaker ⚔️
We see how far Feyre is willing to go to protect those she loves. This is shown in the first book when she was Under the Mountain fighting Amarantha’s 3 trials as a 19 year old human, so this day will be dedicated to Feyre and her courage/resilience while UTM and her badassery during the wyrm trial!!!!
Day 3: Winter Solstice ❄️
This day is the most important day of the week. Why you ask? Well it’s Feyre’s birthday!!!!! This day will be a celebration of Feyre and her family. You can freely do whatever it is you want to celebrate Feyre’s birthday. Literally anything!! This can be commissioning/creating art of Feyre and her family during her birthday, writing modern fics of Feyre in New York celebrating her bday, OR, making yourself a Christmasy beverage/baking a cake in honour of Feyre. We would love to see it so tag us and we’ll reblog it. This will be an interactive day for all. So don’t be afraid to get creative in honour of our High Lady!!!
Day 4: The Inner Circle ✨
To both old and new members of the inner circle, this day will highlight Feyre’s relationship with her found family. From Cassian and Morrigan’s brotherly/sisterly friendship, Amren and her viper tongued advice, Rhys and his never ending charm, to Azriel defending Feyre during the High Lord meeting. This day is for all who love the inner circle and their importance in Feyre’s growth and life throughout he series. This day will also be dedicated to celebrating Feyre’s new sisterly relationships with Elain and Nesta that none of them ever truly had before. The Archeron’s are just as important in Feyre’s story as the Inner Circle is, so for those who love all the characters, don’t be afraid. This week is for all!!!
Day 5: Starfall 💫
This day will be for celebrating starfall with our High Lady and her family. This can be dedicated to Feyre’s first starfall, the starfall in acosf where a very interesting red star fell through the sky (😉), or the next future starfall where Feyre celebrates with all her family and friends and little Nyx. This day is for you to decide what you want to do!!!
Day 6: The High Lady 👑
Feyre is the first ever High Lady in Prythian’s history. She is also the most powerful Fae in history with all the powers of the 7 High Lords combined. She defended Velaris, the City of Starlight and earned her title as High Lady long before her people knew she was theirs. So this day will showcase Feyre’s powers, rulership, serious side and her place in the Court of Nightmares, but it will also show her soft charitable side as High Lady too!!
Day 7: The Rulers of Night 🌌
Yes this is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. Feysand!!!! This day is for celebrating feysand from the beginning of their relationship to them becoming parents in acosf. Nyx will also be heavily celebrated during this day, so feel free to make as many fics/art as you want of mama Feyre with papa Rhys and baby Nyx. Or maybe you want to do something about older Nyx training with Rhys and painting with Feyre? It’s totally up to you!! It will also be a day to celebrate them as rulers together!! *insert Feysand pov fic at the Court of Nightmares in acosf*
Day 8: The Painter 🎨
Feyre expresses the deepest and sometimes darkest parts of herself through painting. It’s a time where she can be free to express her emotions without having to communicate with others. In the series we see how important painting is for Feyre. It was a safe haven for her in her darkest times. When she was living in poverty, she would try and save as much money as she could to paint on any surface. It was the only time that she got peace in the harsh world she was living in. Her biggest dream pre-Prythian was to have enough money to take care of herself and her father while also having enough to buy paints. That was her biggest dream. And look how far she has come since then. Now she has opened her own art studio for children of war so they can freely express themselves without judgment and without having to verbally communicate it. So this day is dedicated to Feyre’s favourite hobby which has inspired many both in out out of the series!!!
Day 9: Free Day 💜
This is a open day for everyone. You can decide what you want to celebrate on the last day of Feyre week. So be creative and don’t hold back!!
Reminder: this week is for all who love Feyre no matter what side of the fandom you’re on. This is not a week to bash other characters you don’t like or attack fans of characters you don’t like. If you love Feyre and don’t like other characters, just celebrate Feyre. If you hate Feyre and love every other character, simply filter Feyre week content and block my account so you won’t have to see it on your feed. what makes me happy!!!!!!!!!!
1. my chiweenie penny (my dog, my bbgirl, I’m not kidding it’s actually her bday today like give it up for the pin head, 7 years old!!)
sometimes I’ll be sitting up on the couch and she’ll do everything in her power to sit on my lap no matter how much I shift or move around. Other times she’ll be napping and her tail starts turbo mode wagging (she’s dreaming!! dreaming happy dreams!!)
2. lazy mornings with nothing to do… esp when I’ve gotten a long nights rest and just kind of naturally wake up early with the sunlight… maybe some cold ass water on the nightstand ready to go..
3. not to be emo but the smell of rain is like lowkey magical
4. this one is universal but when someone is like overcome with laughter. Esp if what they’re laughing at isn’t even really that funny, but like it just got them like really right

For Worse, For Better
A joyous fanniversary to @sitp-recs, a beautiful person to whom I and my fandom experience are indebted. Just over a year ago I’d started to drift away from drarry after reading a few fics, until I discovered Liv’s incredible blog and so many more fics to love and reasons to dig deeper. I wouldn’t have found my way into this community without her, and am so grateful for her kindness and presence here. Liv, I hope this lil story gives you even a fraction of the joy you and your blog have given me over the past year.
Of course, it’s the one eventuality he hasn’t planned for.
“It’s raining,” Draco says, clutching Pansy’s arm and watching the windows streak.
“It sure is,” they say. Their lipstick is sharp and red—any overt warmth from Pansy is rare, but a corner of their mouth tugs upward, not even in a sneer. They tuck a piece of Draco’s hair behind his ear and smooth out his robes.
“It’s a Muggle venue,” Draco says, realising. “No Weather Charms. We can’t even cast an Impervius.”
“No, we certainly can’t.”
“Don’t laugh at me, Pans.” Draco clutches their arm harder. “Oh Merlin, all the guests are going to be wet, they’ll hate me.”
Pansy shakes their head, tugging Draco gently toward the door. “It’s just a bit of rain, Draco.”
The quartet starts playing outside and Draco thinks, Salazar, all those wooden instruments out in the wet, and there’s nothing to do but push open the doors to the outside. Draco sees the aisle first, a thin carpet lined with flowers and splotched with raindrops. A couple guests have thought to bring umbrellas, which unfurl over small pockets of the crowd. The attendees are dressed in a smattering of Wizarding robes and Muggle dress clothes, all dark with water. The rain hammers on the roof behind them, and on the platform at the end of the aisle.
And there, on the platform in the midst of everything, is Harry. His hair clings to the back of his neck, waterlogged and uncharacteristically flat. His glasses are spotted with droplets, and for a moment Draco thinks, Is he cross? He must be cross. But as Pansy guides him down the aisle, he sees Harry’s smile, impossibly wide.
Draco steps up to the small stage.
Harry grins at him. “Look at you,” he says.
“Yes, well,” says Draco haughtily, smoothing out his hair. “Imagine how you look at the moment, you’ve been out here longer.”
Harry laughs, one of those big belly laughs Draco hadn’t known was possible until Harry came into his life. He reaches for Draco’s hands. “I meant that you look quite handsome,” he says, squeezing Draco’s fingers. “I love those robes on you.”
“You look handsome too,” Draco says quietly, because even with his hair plastered to the sides of his face Harry still looks stunning. “I just—“ Draco glances at the quartet, finishing their song, and knows he only has a few more moments. “It feels like a bad omen, all the rain. It’s grey and horrible out, I just feel like it must mean—“
Harry pulls Draco’s hands to his lips, kisses his knuckles once, twice. “Bad omens are usually good ones for me,” he says. “Black dogs, prophecies, curses. I’d be more worried if our wedding went off without a hitch.”
Draco laughs, despite himself. “I planned for everything. I thought I had it covered.”
“You didn’t plan for me, though.” Harry wiggles his eyebrows nonsensically. “I always make things go sideways.”
It’s not so far from the truth. From the beginning, Draco had never planned on Harry. Harry is a force of nature, something impossible and glorious that has happened to Draco, and somehow keeps happening. He seems to defy all logic.
“I didn’t plan for you,” Draco agrees. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Somewhere behind them, the music stops. The rain continues. And Draco and Harry, hand in hand, begin.

you’ll post something on Aug 22. Nothing major. It will go out to your fresh-faced AO3 and your followers on tumblr, fewer than ten, including your friend the gymnast who is also very good at reccing. You’ll write more microfics, wait to see whether anyone notices, loiter in your office bathroom to scroll through the precious tags of a reblog. A tiger will offer you an invite to a discord server, a first gateway, a beginning. You’ll talk about transness with a chameleon. You’ll talk steadily more to a black cat who lets you onto a whole sea of servers and that will make all the difference in the world. And then the cat will make all the difference in the world, a hundred times over, a thousand. You’ll meet a small community: cacti, witches, rocks, birds, cat owners, apricots. A local of the city you love. You’ll meet fellow hufflepuffs and acespecs and writers you’ve quietly followed for months and months; stars and sweets and quills, readers, healers and academics and degree-holders, and people who take your breath away in fifty words. These people will teach you queer joy. It is not a small thing to learn. There are so many intricacies captured—here, this is a new way to love your body. Here, this is a new way to stoke your soul. And all the while you will have been becoming yourself, surrounded by art and artists, and you will remember what a beautiful way this is to grow. Fostered by the generosity of strangers, and strangers become friends.

AITA for wanting my son for my bday wknd?
Background: I split custody 50/50 of my 11M son with my ex 34M. My 30th birthday is coming up on the 20th of May.
My ex texted me tonight and asked if he can take my son to FL with his GF for my sons Bday (which is in august btw) may 18-21. I reminded him that that’s actually MY birthday weekend so we are picking him up early on the 19th to have him for my real birthday on the 20th. All of which is shown on our parenting schedule that we both have. He then asks if he can have the next weekend instead. I sent him a screenshot of our parenting schedule and said no that we have him for Memorial Day as well. I ask if there’s really no other weekend in the entirety of the summer he can take him. He responds a little while later saying his GF has already booked a condo starting on the 18th and they’d loose that money and the only other weekend for the summer they could make work is in July but is double the price. He acknowledges that he fucked op because he has all the same access to our parenting schedule as I do (not mentioning the fact that we were married for 7 years and have only been divorced for 3 so I feel like my birthday should still be a little bit of a memorized date but whatever). He offers to trade me his birthday and another holiday to make up for it. But I REALLY want to say no because I feel like I shouldn’t have to sacrifice time with my son on my birthday because he can’t get his shit together and look at a calendar! We coparent great together and have minimal issues but this is really getting under my skin.
EDIT TO ADD: my birthday weekend we have a cabin booked for a fishing trip which me, my son, and my current husband all enjoy. We did it last year and our plan is to do it yearly. Def should have added that to the original post. On Memorial Day we also have our extended family camping trip with pretty much all my family. Aunts, uncles, cousins. We plan it each year based off mine and my cousins parenting schedule either on Memorial Day or 4th of july and this year we both have our kids on Memorial Day. I don’t think my ex’s GF is being intentional. She is very kind and genuine and wouldn’t have any idea what my birthday was unless my ex told her.

Okay but like...
It's Nancys birthday and everyone has bought her a gift, like jewellery or perfume or other similar items. But Robin decided to handmake Nancy a gift (bc she is poor) and while everyone was giving Nancy their gifts for her to open them, Robin was growing increasingly anxious and told Nancy she would give her the gift at the end. Mainly because she was worried that the others would judge her for her gift choice.
As people head home after the party, Nancy looks to Robin, who then proceeds to sheepishly hand her a bag containing a haphazardly wrapped present 🎁
Upon opening it, Nancys eyes widen with surprise as she looks down on a scrap book, the front cover adorned with the words, "The Adventures of Nancy and Robin". Nancy begins to slowly turn the oages, being sure to pay attention to every little detail. The pages are filled with pictures, text, drawings and other oddities (like pressed flowers, Nancys faves ofc and a "blank" square on a page with an arrow pointing to it saying "my fragrance, seeing as you mentioned you liked the smell before") some of the pictures are of them, of times they wanted to remember or of things which reminded Robin of Nancy (she made sure to state this). The text included little poems and random thoughts which would almost be found in her diary.
As Nancy looked through the whole book sat beside robin, her eyes never left the pages and Robin noticed her smile constantly growing on every page. By the end Nancy had one hand holding Robins and a tear was rolling down her cheek as she finally lifted her gaze to Robin who was suddenly taken by surprise as she felt Nancy pressed around her in a hug with her head buried in the crook of her neck. She whispers to Robin with a crack in her voice, "thank you Robbie, this is the best gift anyone has ever got me". Then pulls away and places the softest kiss to Robins flushed cheek.
