Can you imagine how happy Euphemia was when she found out that her son and Regulus were getting married? She had taken Regulus into her home when he was still a boy, so hurt, so vulnerable. She practically took him and Sirius into her arms, raising them as if they were her own children, loving them as if they were her own children.

She wasn't stupid, she knew her son; James had been born to her after all. And she knew her boy was in love. She saw it in her boy's eyes every time Regulus was around. The woman didn't want to squirm in her wisdom, but with a smirk on her face, she knew those two would end up together. And she couldn't help but feel proud and somewhat mischievous of herself when, just after James had turned twenty, asked Regulus to marry him.

She had suspected that her boy was up to something; James had been working twice as hard since he graduated. She, worried, seeing her son come home tired every night, tried to reassure him; telling him that there was no need, that he would never lack anything at home. Oh, little she know that James was saving to buy a ring, and to pay the first installment of the house he was going to buy for himself and Regulus.

Despite that, she did knew they would eventually get married. What she didn't expect was that they would give her grandchildren so soon.

When James and Regulus announced it, right after having lunch together, she was speechless, she just couldn't form the words, thousands of things were happening inside her. She then looked at Regulus, seeking confirmation. He had a soft smile on his face, and when Euphemia looked down, she saw a barely noticeable baby bump under Regulus' clothes and that's when she started crying. Oh, how she loved that boy. And although she always considered Regulus part of her family, this was different. She hugged him, so tight, crying into the poor boy's clothes. Regulus hugged her back, feeling so overwhelmed, no one had ever hugged him like that. He cried too, he couldn't help it. Everything was so overwhelming and so beautiful. She took the boy's face in her hands; she always thought Regulus was a very beautiful boy. And now he was hers; part of her family. Regulus had just given her the most beautiful gift that only he could give her, and Euphemia was never going to let him go. He was her boy too.

one time james went on a game show with sirius in his twenties. sirius was out immediately but james actually went on. he didn’t win but when he left they gave him a life time supply of reese’s. so every month without fail they send him two huge boxes of reese’s and he can order more anytime he likes, free of cost. so for every housewarming or gift for years, james presents them with a box of reese’s. years later, when regulus and james went on their first date, james brought him a box of reese’s decorated with a pretty red bow. on every date james brought him a box and so on james’s birthday, regulus brought him a reese’s, assuming that they were his favorite candy. james admitted he liked reese’s but he really would prefer anything else, showing regulus the entire room filled with reese’s.

Walburga and Orion realistically never would’ve allowed for either child to live in the shadow of the other. A Black eclipsed by anyone, even another Black, would’ve been a disgrace.

You think they would’ve favoured Regulus if he’d been a weak, blushing and trembling kid hiding behind his brother? No, they simply excelled in different areas.

Sirius was all charm and charisma, knew when to laugh and smile, turned heads upon entering a room, left them wanting more — could’ve been the perfect heir had he only wanted it. Regulus was cold cunning and heartless manipulation, had people fearing and respecting him since he was 12 and loved it. He didn’t have to say a word, by 17 one look from him had people agreeing to anything. He was the perfect heir because he enjoyed the game.

The Blacks were power hungry maniacs, imagine how incredibly fucked Regulus had to be to be their favourite. How deranged did he have to be to be chosen by Voldemort at 16. This man treads the line of irredeemability with a smile

Don't get me wrong, I love the thing about Regulus spending time in the astronomy tower at night to stargaze.

But I feel like a lot of people forget that it's at night the astronomy tower is used at all. All the lessons are at night and all the student have homework they need to do and they can only stargaze at night.

So I think it's more believable that Regulus goes up in the astronomy tower in the afternoons, especially during dinner times because then everyone else is in the great hall and he always forgets to eat. He goes up after classes are done and everyone else returns to their common rooms. He's stay up there for a few hours, watching the grounds and enjoy the peace and quiet, basking in the sunlight like a cat.

James loves his hair being played with and pulled, and Regulus loves to snake his hands in James' hair any chance he gets and of course loves to pull it.

The first time James heard Regulus giggle, it left him a little stunned and then pleaded for him to again

It's very easy for Regulus to get James to beg for him, and he loves it; he loves hearing the desperation in James' voice

James loves to belt lyrics of his favorite songs. Mind you, his voice cracks with every verse, and he is very tone-deaf. Regulus hates himself for loving when James sings

It gets very heated in bed after quidditch games, and if their teams go against each it's just a little rougher (more than a little depending on who wins)

James loves praise like LOVES it (especially in bed)

They both can be the biggest teases ever, but Regulus knows exactly what gets James going, like teasing touches in an area where James can't do anything about it

“Your mind,” he murmurs, tapping his index against your temple. You lean into the warmth of his hand, and for a moment, all you can hear is the way your heart rate picks up as you wait for him to continue.

You’ll have to coax the full statement from him, is what you realize after a few more beats of silence. Regulus had a tendency to complete thoughts inside his head and forget to vocalize them, making it slightly confusing to understand his thought process. Typically, he didn’t realize when things like this happen, at least until somebody points it out to him.

“What about my mind?” You seem to pull him from thoughts, and for a second, you’re almost sorry for penetrating the silence.

His brows pucker, “what d’you mean?”

“You said something ‘bout my mind, didn’t finish the sentence.” The confusion on his face eases into something akin to embarrassment.

“You heard that, hm?”

“Was I not supposed to?” you tilted your head.

“Would’ve been my choice.” He doesn’t mean anything by that, and you know it, but you couldn’t help the way your face fell.

“Oh,” you whispered. It then occurred to him that he might’ve hurt you, that you’d just wanted to know why he’d mentioned you, and he’d blown you off without so much as a second thought.

“You really want to know?” he’s more curious than anything, curious whether you’re actually interested in what he has to say.

You nodded.

“I meant to say,” he paused, “that your mind is a wonderful place.”

“Yeah?”

He hums, “I would live there if I had the option.”

Sirius can't really speak French. Don't get me wrong, he does kinda speaks French, but he's not good at it. At all. He mostly knows insults and some sentences. Unlike Regulus, who speaks fluent French.

In my head it works like this; Regulus was always somehow closer to his mother than Sirius. Walburga spoke perfect French, and she tried to teach her children. With Regulus it was easy, her youngest son seemed interested in the language and what his mother wanted to teach him. But Sirius, oh, the little brat had liked to antagonize his mother since before he was even born. He barely paid attention in his French classes, and ignored his mother whenever she spoke to him in that language.

In my head, Sirius wanted to get as far away as possible from his family. From their ideals, from everything that his mother wanted to impose on him. That's why Sirius can't really speak French; he didn't want to. It reminded him of his mother.
